Buggy

02-04–20: categories missing. Already emailed support.
Previous review: My past complaints about not having split screen has been corrected. This is a killer app now. Everything from the website is available even sub-categories. Thank you.

Unable to download content

I used Dynamed a lot when I worked in rural Honduras where I didn't have internet access. The ability to download content ahead of time is a huge plus, and I have been trying (unsuccessfully) to do it again since moving to Nepal last week to work in a rural hospital. Every time the download progress bar hits 100%, it just resets to 0% and never finishes. I have tried deleting and re-downloading the app multiple times, to no avail.

Bugs, bugs, bugs

The app used to work great for me. Now it has turned completely unusable. It crashes constantly. Whenever I search for a topic it goes into a “fetching...” bug loop and finds no results, crashing after it does. Was expecting at least a usable app from the developers. A total deal-breaker.

The new update is making me authenticate every time I open the app, and now I can’t use it at all outside of my institution’s WiFi network.

App update

The most recent app update is a huge step backwards in its user friendliness. Please bring back the side toolbar that allows us to directly jump to the subtopic we would like to read rather than having to bring up the toolbar that then takes up the entire page.

Stopped after a few months

It had my yearly subscription listed as expired after less than six months. Paying a yearly rate and getting three month use is no bargain compared with uptodate

Initial crash

The app is nice and all, but it crashes every time I first open it. After the initial crash, I re-enter the app and then it works just fine. The start up problems get to me though, so I often find myself opening up the UpToDate app instead, because I know that one works without bugs.

Excellent content

I have used DynaMed Plus for approximately 1 year. Throughout my experience I have been able to locate information easily. Content has been updated frequently presenting evidenced based guidelines. Well done.

Bad app

I downloaded the app more than 3 times. The app its crashing.

Won’t load content

I updated to the newest iPhone and had to reinstall the app. However, I can’t get past the initial content installation page. It would eventually load up to 100% and then restart at 0%, basically an infinite loop. Tried deleting and reinstalling the app and the same thing happens.

Won't Verify my account

Downloaded the app twice, both times whether via Wifi or phone network it times out and says it can't verify me. Log in works fine on my laptop...

When selecting search results - links are inaccurate (have nothing to do with diagnoses searched)

I tried to use this app to see if information provided would be useful. Unfortunately the keywords entered had nothing to do with search results.
As an ophthalmologist, I tried DynaMed Plus to search for "superior oblique palsy". The results of my search:
1. Transesophageal malformations
2. Distal radius fracture - emergency management
3. Acetabular fracture - emergency management.
I could be wrong, but the only muscle I know called the 'superior oblique muscle' attaches to the eyeball and is located in the orbit (not sure why information provided by DynaMed Plus was for the digestive system and musculoskeletal-skeletal structures).
Then I tried to use different words and then searched DynaMed Plus for "cranial four nerve palsy"
The results of my search:
1. Arthropod encephalitides
2. Initial newborn assessment
3. Acute Promyelocytic Leukemia (APL)
4. Vascular malformations in the brain
5. Myasthenia Gravis
At least "Vascular malformations... " and "Myasthenia Gravis" had something to do with CN IV (superior oblique muscle) palsy. Encephalitis could cause dysfunction of CN IV but the most common causes were not included (microvascular disease, trauma, compression is what I was taught/learned to consider first).
There are links to references to review the original article/text which is helpful.
Unfortunately if DynaMed Plus was used for reference by someone who doesn't know better, patient care is compromised. In my opinion, DynaMed should should be able to provide details/useful information.

Won't work

Won't install. Will stay at 100% content dowloaded but still "installing". Cleared space to let app fully install, and same issue. Also, too much space on my iPhone for a single app.

Good database but CRAPPY app

DynaMed obviously is one of the best go to medicine database available but the app has some serious issues. It does not display the list of topics, crashes every 10 minutes. EBSCO please fix this.

Works on my tablet, not my phone

Title says it all, using iphone 5s, and ipad air. The app is great, When It Works.

App took up 8G of space on phone

I noticed my phone was running out of space and when I went to settings to see what apps took up the most space I was shocked to see dynamed took up 8G. I do remember that the app kept notifying me that it needed to update its content but didn't realize it was storing the content on my phone. I wish there was an option to choose that it did not store content on the phone but instead download info as I request it.

Great source, brutal app

Battery killer. Awkward side scroll with no content off the side of the screen makes reading and scrolling feel weird.

White page

Upon opening this app, and asked me to accept. And then antenna seem to blank white page without anything to turn into that app. It is not working on iphone 5s at least

Gets stuck in mobile site upon login

Once installed and subscription is setup it will request you login from their website. Once logged in you do not return to the app, instead you're stuck using the mobile site instead of the cleaner, more mobile friendly app. Fix this please

Not an upgrade from Dynamed

"Software Update - you will need 1.19 GB to install this update". Are you kidding me? My phone is only 16 GB, 1.2 GB FOR ONE APP is pathetic!!!
It still has to update every time it's opened just like old DynaMed did.
It only has like 3,200 or so topics.... It's pretty pathetic as a primary medical resource. It doesn't even cover anything close to the number of topics UpToDate covers. I'm disappointed.
Oh and it can't installed at all on an iPad 1.
Not impressed.

Terrible app

I have had UpToDate for 3 years and had apps on my phone and iPad without problems. I have tried 4 times to install this Dynamed app without success. When I access it from online none of the pages are formatted for a phone, even through the mobile site. This company needs some serious IT help. Very disappointed.

Won't update

My workplace let their uptodate account go and chose this company instead. Downloaded the app to my phone and have been trying to get it up and working for over a week. Keeps saying it needs to update, says 0%, and never actually updates even when I know my wifi is functioning. Deleted the app, it's nonfunctional and takes up a ton of room on my phone. Worthless.

Sounds good. Needs help.

The app is unstable on latest version of IOS on iPhone 6 plus. Don't know what models it does work on.
I downloaded it, accepted the required agreement, it bypasses the initial search screen and leaves me a perpetual white page that cannot be exited without deleting the app.
Hopefully we see an improvement soon.
