A Great iPad Component for a Great CRM!

This program well imitates the functionality and features that exist on my Mac. I am just as comfortable accessing my mail and contact database using my iPad as I am when on my MacBook Pro.
The fact is this, there is no other program on the market that even comes close to the functionality of Daylite! I am always looking to build a “better mouse trap”, as they say. If there was something better, or even equally as powerful, I would know about it!

I run my life in Daylite

I have used Daylite every day since I purchased it in 2003. I use it to run every aspect of my life, both personal and professional, and would be lost without it. I have it with me always, on my phone, my iPad, and my Mac. Its amazing ability to save and link emails has brought me untold benefits. The publisher, MarketCircle, continues to improve the product and backs it well. My few interactions with customer service have all be excellent.

Slow. Crashes all the time.

If I wasn’t required to use this app I certainly it would not. It slows down my workflow tremendously. Forces closes on my device 89% of the time. The only thing it is useful for on mobile is the notifications.
The functionality it provides when it works is wonderful.

The WORST Customer Service.

The Daylite app has not been meaningfully updated for 20 years and remains cumbersome and not intuitive. Daylite does not integrate with anything useful.
But most importantly, if you are in business, you will find that Daylite’s Customer Service is consistently rated among the worst. And I have learned this the hard way.
Daylite simply does not respond, period. You can’t call them. They have a meaningless chat option that literally takes days to work out any problems.
For businesses that need responsiveness with office management software issues, AVOID DAYLITE. There are many alternatives.

Good... but could go to Great

Good app. I am not aware of any CRM product that integrates into the Apple ecosystem as well.
It has some weaknesses that prevent me from calling it great.
The task management is a bit unrefined for GTD adherents. This is especially obvious when you are managing several hundred tasks.
Also, it is best in class for email integration. The problem is that written digital communication has moved beyond to systems such as Slack, texts, social media, etc. (Even BusyContacts OSX could recall Apple message texts)
It would also be helpful to initiate calls using various services from within the App.
Syncing with other common platforms such as Exchange, Office 365 and Google is also a needed must.
You can buy third party services to add some of this functionality, but the cost starts to dramatically go off of the planet.
There’s also no community forum to exchange best practices and there is no open communication that I am aware of from the company on the road map for future features.
Daylite is good, don’t get the wrong impression. It just could be great and rock the entire space.

I was reluctant to move our data from “local” to the cloud. But once we did, any of the small issues we sometimes had, all cleared up.
Some of these reviews are critical of Support .... that astounds me. Whenever I’ve needed support you guys are always there, mostly the same day, with very clear solutions. 👍🏻👍🏻

apps constantly stop syncing

I have been using the ipad and iphone apps off and on for months. Syncing with exchange mail works only for a couple of days usually then fails. iCloud sync is fine, but thats not the point. It is rendered unusable quickly, and i have deleted and reinstalled the app so many times I have lost count. Also removing the exchange mail account itself causes the app simply to hang in delete mode forever, i have to actually delete the entire app and reinstall it as well as the relevant accounts. I have with market circle support tried VPN on/off and other things, but those aren’t the issue. It might be 2FA on exchange that is the issue, but no sensible company would get rid of 2FA on the hope of better app mail sync. Terrible release and even worse, months after release there is no fix. Why trumpet an app that fails in its most basic use case? In this day and age, not good enough.

Best Mac and iOS CRM

I’ve been using Daylite for about 15 years and I’ve bootstrapped 2 successful businesses in that time. Daylite has been my secret sauce the whole way. It allows me to coordinate ALL my resources in one place: team members, projects, meetings, tasks, opportunities and sort and dice the data in a way that lets me bend it all to my will. So powerful, simple and elegantly designed. Wish I could add a 6th star!

It’s fine

It’s designed for sales more than other things. I’ve used various versions of Daylite for more than 10 years.
I’m disappointed that some changes haven’t been made so it’s more useful to other industries. It seems reasonable to be able to set up lists of things to do for a project or event without having to manually change objectives or projects. Many things need to occur in some industries before the event, during and then afterwards and that is not easy with activity sets or pipelines. I’ve tried to get recommendations from support (who are very nice) but it’s more work than it should be. I’ve provided this feedback for so many years and am told they may make changes but they don’t. I end up using list type apps that can manage a project (tasks, rosters, and things to do -before -during -and after ) along with Daylite and that’s sort of silly when you have Daylite cloud.
I’ve also tried to use this for other work Projects such as class. It’s just not user friendly and some tasks that should be easy to set up and use- aren’t.
The best think is the mail integration (and the only reason I stuck with Daylite.
The iPhone app crashes on my iPhone 6, 7 and now still my x. It’s frustrating.
There are some great features but I suspect it works best for the sales industry and probably plenty of other groups

Great software, but I switched for larger fonts

I like my calendar and to do list to shout at me in big bold letters.
Daylite didn't have a reasonable font size. I eventually switched.
Suggest trying the demo on all of you devices to see if you can read the fonts - especially calendar on desktop.

Awesome app, but needs updating

This is the best CRM app by far in my opinion, but Daylite hasn’t updated it in a while. The filters on contacts and tasks are invaluable, but the app has never sorted correctly when using these filters, which makes the whole feature only half as effective and don’t know why they can’t correct this after several years.

Great Mac CRM

As an IT support person, I have used Daylite for years, first locally with the self-serve version and, more recently, in the cloud. The ability to link all kings of information (emails, appts, files, tasks, notes, etc...) to clients and easily find that information is key and this program excels at it. I have recommended it to several of my Mac-based clients and all love it. I highly recommend it.

Consultancy in Real Estate

I love this app. Moved to cloud 2 months ago and never looked back. I’m especially happy about how cloud keeps all 3 of my devices in sync all the time without any action on my part. I especially value the archiving of email ( and calls and texts with iosExpert plugin) by contact.
Email only support is fast and efficient, though I would like the option to talk through my questions from time to time.
Thanks for a great product.

Moving to Daylite Cloud

We recently moved from Daylite SelfServe to Daylite Cloud. The transition was smooth with the computers and with all of the mobile apps in the office except for my phone. My phone app was quitting spontaneously and when it worked it was very slow. But, the problem is now solved!
I contacted Daylite by email about my issue, providing them with details about my issues. I was very impressed that they not only responded quickly, but provided me with a script that cleaned out some accumulated, but obsolete alerts that were bogging my system down. The phone app now works very well and it doesn’t spontaneously quit. If they would add a way to link emails to Daylite from the phone, this would be a 5 star review. As it is, I give 4.5 because the app works very well and my support experience was great.

Had to stop using

Constant crashes, 4 years waiting for an email solution while mobile, so many minutes wasted waiting for app to respond from freezes embarrassingly while with clients... I have said this about every version, someone that cares about crm should by or mimic this platform BUT FIX ALL ITS WOES (Apple ... are u listening ... this should be Apple works, if it worked) ...unfortunately most of us have to piece together a system from multiple apps that actually work, because salesforce and others although they do not crash are even less cohesive. Maybe it’s a conspiracy to keep small business owners small lol... hopefully one day ...daylite sees the light and becomes what it could have been 5,6,7 years ago.

Daylite 6-No more crashes! Yay!

My Daylite 6 app on my iPhone 7+ has been crashing since I first change from Daylite 5 to Daylite 6.
I May have found the origin of my problem that can help you.
Open your copy of daylite. From the Home page go to Settings then to Account then to Manage Your Account; within Manager scroll down until you see Devices.
Look at your devices. If you have duplicates, that's the problem!
For example I had three iPhone 7 displayed.
Solution:
1. I remove ALL iPhones devices.
2. I then went to my Home page and deleted/X my phone.
This left my phone without a Daylight app, which is what you want.
3. As a precaution, I Powered Off my phone and then power it back on.
Back yet?
4. Now go to the App Store and download your Daylite program off the Cloud.
5. Enter your appropriate email address and password as requested.
Daylight will download a clean app and you're all set!
Test it! 💥😎🎉👍
I powered off and on again just to be sure.
It has not crashed since I follow those steps and it has improved it's speed.
Hope it works for you too.
If you're paranoid, go back and check Devices. You should have just one of each.

App is Great ... when it is not crashing

Crashes about 2-15 times per day ... usually, when I need critical information on either my iPad or iPhone. I would not use Daylite, except that the desktop version is terrific ... and the application is critical to my business. Not sure what is causing the problem, and Marketcircle is telling me that there is nothing wrong with the app. The overall design of their cloud version is really good, but the combination of a "buggy" app and very poor customer service is making me rethink the long-term value of the application. From the unusually high number of complaints that are showing up on the internet, I would suggest to Marketcircle that they fix these issues with their app, or they will start losing long-term clients such my company.

Very Little Support

We have been experiencing several issues with syncing between the computer program and the mobile programs. For several weeks now, not all calendar appointments have been showing on our employees' mobile devices (even when they are all showing on the computer). We have reached out to Daylite Support several times via email (as there is no phone number, and I have personally never seen the chat actually connected) and have just been told to delete and re-add the programs several times. We have even gone as far as to wipe the databases. Not good support for what we pay or for how much we use and rely on this service.

Replaces new database with old

I have the self serve program and mostly use the app on my phone to update projects, opportunities and tasks. With the most current update a banner appears on my phone saying "download required" and it forces me to sign in. Not only is this a huge pain because it happens over and over, the worst part is the most current / updated database on the phone is replaced by the old database on the Mac. Any and all information entered on the phone is lost, rendering this app and the entire program useless.

Lacking

Although this program integrates with MacMail very well, there is no integration for Text, and in today's business environment, a lot of business communication happens via text. If you cannot track all communications why track any? But the real drawback comes in creating groups and printing. No fast and easy ways to use groups with both People and Companies, which makes print "merge" tasks a pain. Also does not have a lot of print templates nor easy ways to import new ones. What is available for people is not for companies, and I don't have time to make new ones from scratch. Not happy.

Not as good as it was

I am a small business owner and have been using Daylite now for about 4-5 years. Overall I was thinking it was the best database for macs..... I do not know that now. They continue to say that you can take your database with you on the road but I believe that is NO longer true. I cannot find contacts on my phone that I know are on my mac at the office. I used to be able to look at my calender from the past which allowed me to see when I was previously at an old customrs' house. Now I cannot do it. I am upset because I trusted these guys and took the time to learn their program and now I will probably need to find another database? v6.0.4 will not run in foreground on iPad iOS 9.3.1 or 9.3.2

UPDATE June 8, 2016:
v6.0.5 does not resolve problem. v6.0.5 will not run in foreground on iPad 3 with 10.3 GB free on iOS 9.3.2. Not having this issue with any other apps on iPad, so this issue is isolated to Daylite app. Working fine on iPhone 6s with iOS 9.3.2.
Also, cannot connect to Daylite server iPad using the exact same settings used for connecting iPhone and Laptop. Must use alternate name such as servername.local or IP address instead of fully qualified domain name that was used for successful connection to server on iPhone and Laptop.
Daylite v6.0.4 and v6.0.5 are hopeless on iPad since they will not run in foreground.
----------------------------------------------
v6.0.4 will not run in foreground on iPad 3 with 10.4 GB free on iOS 9.3.1 or 9.3.2. App freezes on launch while appearing to sync for about 20 seconds, then vanishes to background. Double click to select app to bring to foreground repeats the process. Tried uninstalling and reinstalling app several times with same, repeatable results. App wants to stay in background. Did not have this problem with v6.0.3. This could be a great app if Marketcircle could get the code 100% solid, not 99% or 98%. The 1% or 2% of buggy code in this app is killing my workflow. Forget about new features for a few months and focus all resources on squashing bugs so the app functions and performs as expected in order to ensure customer satisfaction!i

I wish I could say I love this app and it works for me but it just doesn't. My company roles its own Daylite server and our remote Macs have no trouble syncing. However, the iPad and iPhone apps fail to sync 90% of the time. It is totally unreliable for real use.
It also doesn't auto-sync, it only "pulls" down data when you ask it to. So you can't keep up with your office unless you remember to ask it to sync and hope it actually works. It is a deeply flawed implementation of how modern apps are expected to work by consumers. If I'm not getting push alerts about my appointments then how useful is this to me? Or anyone else?
Lastly, it doesn't support the iPad Pro, split screen, slide over, or any of the modern features of iOS. I keep waiting for Daylite on iOS to get good and it just doesn't.

Fantastic CRM

This has been a great CRM tool on the Mac for well over a decade.
Today, in 2016 with a cloud-based backend and access to the full company database from anywhere I've got cellular access, it's a dream.

Not syncing with Daylite cloud

I am using Daylite on my Mac and my two iOS devices and even though I have their own cloud service, it does not sync on my iPhone. I have tried logging in and out, installing the app again and nothing seams to work. Very disappointed! Tried to contact customer service, and no response! Very bad.

Could you please respond. Holding my data hostage for 3 days it too long

The worst customer service I have ever seen. They don't respond, they don't answer their phone, they don't seem to understand that they are a database company and not responding for days when a customer is down endangers their customer's business. I am simply stunned by how they hide when their is an issue. It's clear by now that they either down't care of don't know what to do but can't give us the courtesy of letting us know.

Can't do work without it.

I have been using Daylite for years. I would be lost without it. It has become essential to my business.

Not An Option

Using Daylite in my business is not an option. It’s a CRM, Digital Assistant, Marketing Director and Sales Manager all wrapped into one program. Sure there are plenty of software applications that will do the same, but I chose Daylite for it’s power and simplicity, backed by a company that provides World Class support and service!

Great app!

This app is wonderful, although I wish there were some tools to help with re-booking clients after a project has been completed. Perhaps there are and I've just got some learning to do...
