Fun game, crashes CONSTANTLY

Crashes every 20 minutes or so. Also NEVER reload previous save slots. You will spend 6 hours playing and then have to start completely over like I did.

Clever players wanted:

From the unique battle system to the mysterious unraveling of the story through clues in character bios and in-game dialogue, this game is not for the faint of heart.
Certainly seamless in their execution of a creative game mechanic, the battle system isn't overly difficult to learn by any means, however, it requires the player to be creative as well to fully grasp the potential there. Simply a joy to experiment with.
Then, you'll enjoy a beautifully made landscape, characters, and music throughout a quite interesting story- unless you dig deep and discover all the little details that make someone like myself appreciate this gem of a game even more.
You can try it if you want.

Most beautiful mobile game I've ever played

I rarely ever rate any games on the store, but this one was so fun and good i just had to. The soundtrack was so good I would refuse to play the game until I had my headphones on or I was at home. The gameplay was simple to understand but nearly impossible to master, which added another layer of fun. The story was intriguing, the setting was so cyberpunk i almost died of excitement, and all in all this is the best game i ever played on mobile.

ALMOST the perfect game!

This game blew me away. Gameplay, graphics, the story, the music omg the music! And the Turn() is nothing short of brilliant. So satisfying to play. One of the best and most immersive games I've ever played. I only have three issues with Transistor. One, it crashes randomly. Not too often, but it's annoying because (second issue) it takes so long to load! I would have still given the game five stars if those were the only problems, but... the story is WAY TOO SHORT! I was just getting going and then I faced the final boss! Seriously way way way too short. I want more! I would PAY for more. Recursion is great, but it is just the same thing again. The world of Transistor is so deep and intriguing and I felt like we barely scratched the surface. Sequel??? PLEASE???

Not saving, I can't keep starting over!

I've started playing this game five different times now, with play times between 10 minutes to one hour. Each time I go back I'm back at the beginning again! This game is beautiful and, from what I've been able to experience, just as fun as everyone says it is. I shouldn't have to keep starting over to experience it, though. One of the times I was playing I got a phone call, and when I went back to the game it had obviously been quit in the background because it started up as if I hadn't played at all. From the beginning. Again.
Either implement a proper auto-save system (especially for phones where the likelihood of you being interrupted is high) or give us the ability to just save the game ourselves when we want/need to.

One of the best games ever.

I got this for the Apple TV and it was amazing. The art style is incredible and the music is A++. When you set down the controller, Red starts humming along to the music, which was enough to make me swoon by itself. The gameplay is very fluid and the different ability combos you can create really add a lot of diversity to the play styles you can choose from. There are only two issues I had that are preventing me from giving a 5 star review. First, the aiming system for the Apple Remote is too sensitive and makes fine control nearly impossible. Honestly I never checked if you could turn it down though so I could be complaining for no reason. The other thing which was a bigger issue is that is keeps crashing during New Game Plus. I was really looking forward to finishing it at least twice but it's crashed probably 10 times in the first few hours of gameplay since I restarted. Fix that and I'll change to 5 stars.

Not for people with low Intelligence

This game's a work of art. Great soundtrack, superb artwork and story, very well written. Not to mention the seamless gameplay and smooth touch countrols, simple yet unique equipment system. I dont understand how people dont get it, probably due to low IQ.
Story's very well written, tho it isnt well received and understood by low intellects, it shows on some of the reviews here.
Game's pacing quite fantastic, you get to enjoy and explore a bit at the same time, while relishing the lore and the soundtrack. Again, wont be appreciated by people with low IQ.
Overall a game worth of purchasing, truly a work of art. Tho it isnt friendly to unintelligent people. Some of the reviews will give you an idea how low intellects react to this game.

Favorite mobile game

One of my favorite parts is how using limiters (functionality similar to the skulls in Halo) I am able to customize the difficulty of the game to how I feel is the most fun while also getting a sort of reward in the form of slightly more experience. Instead of having to pass from medium to hard and suddenly feeling everything suddenly changed, I can just tweak one small aspect of the enemy that might make it slightly or greatly harder to kill, being able to choose which combinations give me an enemy which is fun to fight against. Also music is great and main enemies are largely well developed (If you bother to read their backstory in their files and not only what they say during the game.
Really fun game overall.

Well-rounded Game

This game is everything I would want out of a game: Beautiful sound design, great character development, amazing graphics, long story (5+hours), and great gameplay to suit more than one play style. More content and dlc would be nice, perhaps in a different game, but the style and feel of this game is wonderful. Warning, ending is sad but happy.

Could have been a better port

It's an exceptional game on iOS, because its first of all a PC game ported... Keep in mind there are some compromises made, notably:
> the Speed and Performance tests are to demonstrate novel function compositions and combos to you, by forcing you to try them out.
The four functions on the right doesn’t show their modifiers (functions that modify the behavior of the main function. e.g. Breach() makes most function longer-ranged).
> the game was developed on a not-so-efficient framework (XNA)
It runs poorly on ultra books as well. Don't be surprised that this games heats your device like a complicated 3D game.

Weak story, arbitrary weapons

The weapons are hard to understand, the story is fairly vague and characters unidimensional. It is gorgeous to watch but that's not enough to keep me in a game. There's a ton of potential here but I felt like a lot of the eye candy is wasted. It's fun to just watch the main character walk around the complex city; the visuals would work great in a futuristic movie (hint, hint to the artistic directors). On the other hand, I just felt like all that obsessive attention to mind-blowing imagery is wasted. It doesn't serve the story. Not much anyway. It's just walking through gorgeous scenery to the next walled off area to fight within more gorgeous scenery again the next...what?...worm, robot, alien? The enemies are well imagined and there's a lot of variety but it's a bit tiresome. Glad I tried but deleted shortly after downloading, in part because it takes up so much room for something I probably won't get back to.

This game is amazing.

This is by far the most entertaining, visually appealing, and well-crafted game I have ever played on iOS. The artwork, the storyline, the gameplay, and the amazing soundtrack create a wonderfully immersive and captivating experience that keeps you playing until the end. Yes, it did a crash a *couple* times, but it honestly wasn't that bad. I spent $10 on it, and was perfectly happy doing so.

Fantastic!

Gorgeous art, beautiful music, and a simple but brilliantly executed story, all balanced around an extremely fun combat system. Later in the game (in subsequent playthroughs) there are some minor balance issues with the combat choices - not all combinations are even remotely viable - but still the ones which are viable are tons of fun to experiment with. I highly recommend this game.

AMAZING game but

Played through. Awsome. Beutiful. Gorgeous. I started the play through again after beating it and well. I can't play any more. Whenever I go on the second I touch the screen,no matter where, she freaks out and glitches into the wall and the game freezes. I can't fix it from there. I've deleted the app and re-installed it. Great game, but crashes regularly

This game is truly well made and fun, forget people who say it's too hard or unexplained, they just don't pay attention, but my issue is that it crashes pretty regularly, any loading screen or post battle screen is at risk of a random crash with no save, it can be frustrating to say the least

Interesting But Flawed

This app crashes a lot. Initially the game is playable. However, after getting to some levels later the many different varieties of buffs are difficult to use. I see no description of how to use the buffs. For example, the load buff installs a bomb on the ground, but I am on able to explode the bomb and there's no explanation as to why.
Good things are that the graphics are really good. Also I think the game is very unique, but it gets boring running around doing things that you don't really know why you're doing.

Too Big

At over 2 GB, this game is massive. Apple has made ways for an apps to only load the resources it needs for the next few levels. If the developers would just us it, I could play the game. It's bad enough that iOS has a phantom space issue, but games over 1 GB are just too big.

Great Mechanics

So, this game is great. The story so good, the sound track is good, but most of all, the gameplay is amazing. It's nothing like I've ever seen before. It's a bit hard to describe, to do actions you take a turn where you plan your movements and attacks, but after this turn takes places, there a short period where you can't attack and have to try to survive in real time. It's super weird. The only problem is, and this might be a turn off for some people, when you're out of your turns you are constantly getting hit. When I say constantly I mean in some of the fights you are getting hit through the entire thing. Other than that it's great.

Oldschool gamer review

Gotta give it a 5/5. the price yesterday was 10 USD, today its like 3 bucks, not sure why..... anyhow Bastion (other game these guys developed) was very well done but they stuck to a classic formula, if you play it, you will likely feel like you have already played the game before. This game isnt better than Bastion because of how fun it is (Bastion might be more enjoyable for many) - it's better (to me) because the developers attempted at novelty, new mechanics, gameplay ive never experienced, a talking sword, a hero who is a singer (???) it's not another one of those games where u feel like you've already played it. Hopefully this game becomes more challenging and tactical though... either way. Novelty earns 5 stars with the number of copycat games out there.

Not what I'd hoped.

The game is okay, but after reading all the reviews I had great expectations.
The storyline is choppy and has no real development. You have a voice but with no attachment to it. There's no build-up to the end, nor a real climax.
The game looks great, as will any produced by a company coming off of a large success, but lacks depth.
The raspy voice constantly says things that mean nothing to me, and has the "trying too hard" feel.
Don't get me wrong, it's an alright game, but you're not getting any real depth with it whatsoever. The atmosphere creates the illusion of depth, but there isn't much.
It's a short game and crashes a lot too.
Honestly, I think only the few who absolutely loved this game rated it. I believe everyone else was perfect you okay with deleting it after beating it, especially to free up the 2.5 gigs of 90% audio.
I'm not saying don't buy it, I'm simply saying if I hadn't gotten it for the 2-3 dollar special a few weeks ago, I'd be a bit more aggressive and detailed in this review.
Three stars simply because I appreciate the effort.

This game is an experience. The dialog, the world, story, it's a wonderful game if you take the time to patiently just immerse yourself. Give the game a chance to take you on a very memorable journey.
And don't complain about it not auto saving then write a bad review seriously? Just get to a function tile and then it auto saves it might take like ten minutes to get to the first one, but their usually no more than 5 mins apart from each other. Geeeez

Spectacular.

This game is incredible. The story is captivating, and the telling is new and intriguing. The graphics are gorgeous, and combat is fun.
My only complaint is that enemies drift when you "pause" the game, so you plan out your attacks, but by the time you get to your third or fourth hit you're swinging at nothing because the enemies have moved and you already set your plan. In other words, when you pause to attack, your character moves toward the position of the enemies at the beginning of the turn rather than where they are at in real time. This is extremely annoying, but was really the only problem I had with the gameplay.
Can't wait to play it again! I would recommend this game to anyone!
FYI: The play time is about 6 hours.

Just Amazing

I never write reviews, I've never written a review actually but for transistor I just had to write one. The art is amazing, the storyline is beautiful, and it launches you right into the game without so much as a tutorial or even a menu. Truly a learn as you play experience. I've seen this game so many times but always put it off because I was afraid that it wouldn't be worth 10 dollars. It is definitely worth it.
After playing through the who,e thing and getting emotionally attached to a sword and then having my heart break from the whole story, I really want to keep on playing it so much. Even if it is the same thing which btw is something I never do.
The game only crashed on me once but it has so many saving points that it's nearly impossible to lose your progress unless you choose to go through it without using any of the save points.
Highly recommend to everyone. Definitely worth it. Best game ever.

5 star game/ 1 star app

This game is by all means one of my favorite games of all time, first playing it on the PS4. I really thought I'd get the game and replay it on iOS. I have an iPad mini so I bought it for that. Then with disappointment it didn't work. So then a few months later I get a more powerful device, an iPod touch 6! More than enough power. So I download it again thinking this time I'll play it on iOS. WRONG!!! Still not compatible. I'm thinking what do I need to do!? So unless I buy a way more powerful iPad or phone then I can play it but I'm not buying any more devices just to play this one game I already own on my console. Screw this app and devs for limiting this app this badly. Fix this now please. If it can run on an iPhone 5 or 5s then it can run on my iPod touch with the same screen size and more power! Fix it!

One of the very best but one bug

Transistor is absolutely amazing. The graphics are lovely, vibrant, and gorgeous. The gameplay is buttery smooth and pretty simple but fun. Story and characters are compelling, and the music accompanies the storyline very well. There's only one bug though, when I try to click the option soundtrack in settings, it doesn't launch it and the game quits out. I'm playing on a brand new iPhone 6s, so I don't know what the problem is. Please fix it as this is an otherwise phenomenonal game that's worth every penny.

Wow.

This title is awesome, and actually may have even converted me over to the idea of gaming on an iOS device. The graphics and music are just fantastic; not just for an iOS device...but for any device out there. The story is really captivating that really hooks you in with just a fun fighting mechanic.
I bought this when they had the 50% off promotion, but I think this would be worth it even at full price. I'll have to try out bastion now once I'm done with this one !

Inaccurate touch response

Cool game but having issues with it reading my taps. My input is often received inaccurately (moving other places when trying to attack an enemy or use a skill). I initially felt like it was because of the small screen I'm playing on however, even when I very carefully touch the very center of the skill with my index finger it just completely ignores it and moves to the spot under the button instead, taking multiple taps to finally use the skill. This is when it's charged and ready to use and I know it's messing up even when reading the right spot because it'll put the movement marker right where I press, which becomes visible once I move toward it and the skill icon moves out of the way. Transistor

First off, I absolutely LOVED Bastion. It's one of my favorite RPGs to date. I've played through it at least 10 times now. But even after experiencing every single thing their previous game had to offer, I was consistantely surprised while playing Transistor. The graphics, story, voice acting, gameplay... it's all a step up from Bastion (which is INCREDIBLY hard to believe, I know... but it's true), and easily one of the most professional and fleshed out games in terms of story and presentation available in the AppStore. That's not even taking into account the depthy gameplay with loads of customization available depending on how you'd like to approach the game. The controls work flawlessly, and if you're not too keen on virtual controls, the game supports MFi controlls as well...
I can't recommend this game enough... no matter the price. It's a true gem, and a game that I will be comparing almost all RPGs to in the future.

REFUND. NOW.

Either allow me to play this game, or give me back my money. I bought this for $9.99 plus tax on my iPad mini. And there I was, ready to play the game, when all of a sudden, a message appears, saying that my device isn't compatible and to contact support with a link. Now as of writing this review, I have not yet checked whether or not my device is actually compatible or not, for I know that some people with compatible devices have this same issue. (If it actually is compatible, then I'm going to be even more upset) But that aside, you shouldn't even allowed to buy it if it knows that your device won't run it. This is borderline robbery, and unless I can somehow find a way online to get it working, I demand to have my money returned to my account. (Chances are that I won't though 😤)

Obsessed.

I heard so many things about this game but kept putting it off... and then it went on sale. I was a fool for waiting so long. Honestly? I'm obsessed. The story is amazing. The music is amazing. The characters are amazing. I love it all so much that I bought it for PC also and played it through again.
Gameplay is surprisingly similar on each; battles are pre-structured for the most part (allocation of resources, planning out movement and attacks) so you're not losing anything in a keyboard -> iOS shift. I love having it on my phone so I can play it anytime, anywhere.
The replay value of the game is incredible, also. Even when you've finished the story, you can go back and do the things you may have been scared to try the first time-- like play with inhibitors! Or now you can spend more time on the time trials in the sandbox. It's great. It's perfect. Spend the $3 or whatever it is now. It's worth it, I promise you.

Awesome Game 👌🏽

I've played Bastion on iOS and was impressed with the gameplay, it was totally worth the buy. I decided to purchase Transistor and I wasn't disappointed. The gameplay is amazing, there's an interesting storyline to follow, the art and soundtrack is lovely, and overall I love the concept of this game. It was put together nicely, and one of those unique indie apps that you can't pass buy. I had a good experience playing Transistor and I hope others feel the same. Would definitely recommend to a friend.
I hope to see more games from this company in the future. Keep up the good work! 😊

Fun game till it crashes

Pretty game. Fun to play. Controls are interesting. Excellent voice acting..... but it CRASHES on the new Appletv about every 20 min. I've lost progress aplenty. Played the same section 3 times over before I just quite. I'll admit that playing video games is a waste of time when everything works as it should. Transistor is currently a criminal waste of time. I'm not the only person to report this crashing issue. How does a developer not invest 30 minutes of gameplay testing before releasing on a new device/os? Not worth playing or buying for Apple TV at the moment.

Great game, but crashes on Apple TV

This game seems utterly amazing. I'm only a couple hours into it, but the atmosphere and voice acting are just incredible. I wasn't a huge fan of Bastion, but the combat in Transistor just clicks for me. I've only played on my Apple TV, using a Nimbus as the controller. Problem being that the game crashes every 15-30 minutes. I've rebooted my Apple TV... I dunno what else to try. I've never lost any major progress because of the crashes, but it is definitely frustrating when the game crashes at the end of a boss fight. I've reached out to the dev on Twitter. I hope it's fixed, I really want to play it!

Awesome but not on iPad Pro

Got this game for iPhone but waited to actually dive into it until I could play it on my iPad Pro. Sadly, even with my new iPad it seems like i'll still be waiting. Every time I open the app, it boots to a black screen. I've uninstalled the app, reinstalled, updated to where it says it supports iPad Pro, but still get a black screen.
Hopefully this bug is fixed soon so I can enjoy the greatness.

i own this on ps4. still had to buy

im not a big gamer on phones or ipads. but this game is perfect for these devices. still enjoy the actual gameplay on ps4 much better'er. although i find myself more emersed in the story telling on my ipad. possibly just because the menus and navigations for a game like this makes more sense to be able to emerse yourself in the reading of characters and limiters n such.
would be cool if there was just a companion app for ps4 with same art style just to be able to browse such thingys.
anyways,

My favorite game

Transistor is one of the most artistic, and beautiful games I have come across. The way the characters, world, and story is developed amazes me. I've felt chills from the soundtrack, and the way the game play and aesthetic fits together makes the game truly enjoyable. I have played three times through and have reached the level cap, I'm thinking of playing it a fourth game. I can't wait for what Supergiant Games makes next, and from two games I've become a true fan.

Hints of Pretentious Beards

Heavy on the Indy sound track. Heavy on the breathy male voice. Heavy on the paint. Heavy on the romantic fallen Indy-pop star story cutscenes. Bits of gameplay in between are decent. Bunch of guys knew each other and made a cool art game. If you buy it and want to feel part of it, you'll dig this game. If you're not into all of the above, try something less wet.
I'm on the fence. Turned down the music. Turned off the neck crawling male narration. Cutscenes wouldn't abort. The art is intertwined with the story. You have to feel this game. If you do, you'll probably love it. It's more like an art music story with stylized combat to match than a hack and slash action RPG.

Beautiful game, amazing soundtrack.

This is one of the best mobile games I have ever played. It is beautifully illustrated and runs smoothly on my iPad Air 2, IOS 9. The story is engaging, the gameplay is addicting and the upgrade system is great. I'm on my second pass through the game, and the enemies are harder now... Something I like. The challenges aren't easily won, and require thought and sometimes many tries, also a good thing for a game. There are tons of unlockables, and I could see myself replaying this game many times. Great job!!!

Random display bug halting progress

I loved Bastion and was excited to see this make the iPad too. Great type of game for long air travel. Took me a number of times to make it to the first save point without interruption, but once there I was ready to settle in for a long session. Unfortunately I keep having an issue where the screen goes blank in the middle of battles in the second area. I can hear from the sound that the screen input is still active, but there’s no visual display at all. This remains true even if I go to iOS home screen and return. This is with iOS 9 on an iPad Air 2.

Stupid UI/button placement/function control

If the functions were displayed on the left side of the screen, and only worked while you were holding the function down, and if you were not holding down a function then you would walk there then the UI/gameplay ease would be perfect. Instead, both modes are VERY annoying in their own way.
Supergiant Games is amazing! For now, buy this game on the PC, but buy Bastion for the iPad!!! Bastion is actually even better on the iPad than on the PC. Both are a couple of the most beautiful games available, and the soundtrack in this one is incredible.

Soundtrack to story to my virtual and brutal assistant

First heard about this app at work and thought I would try it out. O my gosh so glad I did! This game has amazing graphics for an iPhone game and loads incredibly fast! The soundtrack is killer as well. Please play this game with headphones you won't regret. The soundtrack is also on apple music which I highly recommend downloading. The story and concept of battling robots that are taking over the city with a sword they talks to you is pretty cool as well. Whoever did the voice acting for transistor, the swords name, had a pretty cool voice. Upgrade transistor in the game for more powerful combos and effects to destroy bots and bosses faster. This game is currently %50 but it's way worth buying it at full price. You can also pick up where you left off on another iOS device because transistor saves all of your game data through the Cloud which is probably one of the best features of this game.

Story Telling at its Finest

What an amazing game... Where to start.
The soundtrack obviously... Its haunting and ethereal, moving, compelling... That's the word. It's compelling. It makes a good game great and in this case amazingly so.
The game is pretty graphics wise.
It is short and sweet... Bittersweet. It takes a couple of hours to complete.
The game like Bastion is filled with narrative type dialogue that adds to the over-all atmosphere. It really pulls the whole story together.
Although the story is not very in depth it is still well told and kept me interested till the end. The ending was very unexpected.
The controls can be toggled between analog style stick or point-n-click. The battle system takes some getting used to. I've been a gamer for mostly my entire life, and at times I found this game difficult. Once you get the hang of it however it's pretty easy.
Worth the money hands down. Hats off to supergiant games for another amazing story told.

Syncing issues

Love the game but can't seem to get the iCloud sync to work. I started on my iPhone and made some good progress but wanted to check it out on the bigger screen but can't seem to figure out how to get my game save to sync. Also, even on my iPhone 6, the game can get laggy at times. Especially when going to and from the "access point" screen. And annoyingly long load times which can get bad when you switch from the app for 5 seconds to check a text and then the game has to load as if it is starting up again. Great game though!

Absolutely Incredible

This game was so incredible. The atmosphere, the art, the story the soundtrack. My only complaint is the controls. Touch controls are, in my opinion, better, but you have to select your function and then tap your target. The advantage to that is precise aim, the disadvantage is being fumbly and slower. Classic is better for running while attacking, but in Turn(), it lacks the precise aim of touch controls and sometimes I am forced to switch to touch controls to attack the right enemy, which is pretty inconvenient. I feel this would be perfectly solved if classic controls had the ability to tap which enemy you wanted while in Turn(). Sorry for the lengthy complaint; the quality of the game was really amazing, and I love it a lot. Maybe I missed something in classic controls, but I don't think so. I hope to see this ability in a future update; It would definitely make my recursion playthrough even better!

Rip off...

The requirements clearly say this game is compatible with iPad wifi 3rd gen (which I have) but when I try to play, it says it's only compatible with iPhone 5 or iPad 4 or iPad mini 2nd gen. If you don't want to waste $10 don't download unless you have those 3 devices or newer. I'm still waiting to hear from supergiant games for some answers, but it's more effort than I was planning to spend on something I checked compatibility for BEFORE I purchased.

Amazing

A worthy successor to Bastion. The atmosphere is great and the combat system is tons of fun. It gives you tons of options to customize your fighting style. The game is challenging without being frustrating. The boss battles, in particular, are quite satisfying, especially the final boss. The only flaw is that the game slows down at times, even on an iPad Mini 3. In a real-time combat game, that's a problem. I'd deduct a star for that, but the game is otherwise so good it still gets five stars.

Exemplary

I thoroughly enjoy this game. The story, artwork, and game mechanics are all top-notch. I would pay $10 for the soundtrack alone.
I have only one proviso: you *need* the latest hardware. Even on an iPhone 6, framerates suffer in a few places. I can only imagine what a 5 or 5s user experiences.
With that caveat out of the way: I can honestly say this is the best game I have played in the past year. It is truly a piece of art, and I feel fortunate to have experienced it.

I've played every great iPhone game and this is the best

Over the last five years, I have downloaded and played just about every great paid iPhone game. This is by far my favorite. So many different ways to play, so much depth. This game is an absolute joy to play.
I saw one review complain that you lose abilities temporarily after you die. Dude, man up and stop dying. This made me fight smarter and get better at the game.
Awesome.

A great argument for games being called "art"

The art, music, characters, voice-overs and storyline are a solid punch to the jaw. 10/10.
A new battle element- called Turn()- allows you to plan Red's movements and attacks, and chain them into a near-instant combo.
The interface makes planning easy, but predicting how your opponent will retaliate... that's the tricky part.
The amount of detail is uncanny- even the upgrades have backstories that evolve throughout the game.
And the backdrops... If I could visit Cloudback (without dying) I would be there in a heartbeat.
Please: more, Supergiant!
I need some quality games on my phone to balance out the freemium "wait-to-play"s and puzzles that I play once and never pick up again.
For now, Transistor will be waiting, side-by-side with Bastion, on my home screen- next to an open spot for your next work of art.

Life-changing

Transistor has forever altered my perspective I once held for IOS games. Its depth-ranging from combat system, art, to story- left my jaws open. Transistor is a combination of thrilling, exotic, vibrant. Every step I took with Red in this new, corrupted world was filled with fear, and awe. It was truly a magical game as Red was uncovering her mysterious past as well as avenging all wrongs. I highly recommend Transistor to anyone seeking a completely different experience, and an engaging story.

Wow. Beautiful! But confusing.

I want to give 5 stars, but honestly this gorgeous game is confusing for first timers like me. There's no explanation of what or how to use abilities. I have no clue where I'm going or what I should be doing? I'm just randomly running around trying to piece it all together hoping for the best.
So far that's resulted in a lot of agonizing battles going poorly. Seems like I'm definitely doing something wrong, but the lack of any tutorial is the responsibility of the developers, not the player. That oversight costs one star.
Other than the confusion I am enjoying the ride so far. The atmosphere, and general game play dynamics are pretty cool. Of course the graphics on my Air2 is fantastic and engaging. I just hope I'm do the right things and going the right way.

Absolutely Amazing

This is my first time playing this game, and I have fallen in love. The story is a true masterpiece. I was so attached to the characters, and was completely satisfied with the ending. The best part of this game, is that you have to piece together exactly what is happening.
The actual gameplay took a bit for me to get used to,but it really added something. It was challenging, and made you think.
The soundtrack to this game pretty much made this game even better. I frequently found myself stopping to hum the music. And when I beat the game, I bought the soundtrack. I can't get enough of it!
The downside to this as an app, is that I couldn't use it on my iPad, which is an iPad Mini (1st gen) despite it being listed in the compatibility section. I had to download it to my mom's iPad, which is a newer model than mine. It worked out since she has a bigger screen. So make sure you check the note in the description before you buy this glorious game! Also, I did experience some lag while I played. I was able to wait it out, but it was there.
Overall, this game is absolutely amazing. I just bought Bastion, so hopefully I love that one just as much!!!

Disappointed…

First of all, I loved Bastion. I appreciate the time and effort Supergiant Games puts into their work. Although I believe Transistor was crafted with this same care, I have grown increasingly frustrated with the playing structure; I hate the idea of having my attack options (known as "functions") momentarily taken away from me each time I die; this leads to a constant reformatting of the attacks menu, creating a constant jumble of confusion and disruption when your preferred functions are taken away from you. Maybe this was the idea, but I hate having to continuously change my fighting style because I'm stuck with attacks that I prefer less over my primary grouping.
On a side note, the characters of Transistor aren't quite as compelling as those in Bastion, especially considering Transistor and Red are both voiced by the same individuals that we grew so close to as Bastion unfolded. I appreciate the effort, Supergiant, but sadly, Transistor feels like a toned down Bastion-like clone that simply missed its mark. Regardless, you guys do great work, and you are incredible storytellers; I'm still satisfied that I've invested in your mobile game suite.
Best of luck in future adventures!

Amazing game; port underperforms

I absolutely loved Transistor on PS4 and was looking forward to sharing it with some friends on iPad. The port feels like it's 90% of the way to being fantastic. The main issue I noticed immediately is that it feels sluggish: the game always feels like it's struggling to keep up, even on the latest iPad model. Hopefully Supergiant is able to optimize the performance a bit. A less critical issue is that there's so much beautiful detail in Transistor that I constantly find myself wishing I could zoom in on things. If you really can't play this on PS4 or PC, then you should at least play it on iPad, but I do feel the experience suffers a bit in the game's current state.

Beautiful, addictive, fun

I bought this game a while ago when I bought my PS4 because every game being a first person shooter wasn't appealing to me and I was searching for something different. Oh boy did I find it. I love the storyline and unique gameplay. Beautiful artistic style, fantastic music. I just had to get it on iPad for portability and downtime at work.
My only complaint is I would have happily paid more for a longer game. I can't wait to see more from these developers.

Meh, this game blows a little bit of your mind.

First off this soundtrack is bee's knees and tha cat's pe yamos!
Meh, this game is awesome! I downloaded it a while back on PS4 after hearing about its many accolades and awards or what nots and etc. I did so also because I'm a huge Action RPG dude. Not to mention I really enjoyed Bastion. Anyway, I didn't really get into it on the PS4. Don't know why. Saw it in the App Store and felt compelled to get it again and give it another shot. I loved it and currently still loving it. Something about using the original controls on a touch screen makes the games controls more enjoyable and accessible. So, in conclusion, this game rocks and if you were one of those not originally blown away when you first tried it on console, with a small sacrifice to graphics, it is definitely a game to buy on iOS, especially iPad. The gameplay is something fresh and in two ative.

One of the best games in the past 5 years, also in the category of best of all time.

From the creators of the game Bastion. If you love RPG's then by this game instantly. Battles take place in real time combat then you can pause time and combine a series of actions (including where you want to move your character) and abilities to unleash on your foes. It also has one of the best soundtracks I have ever heard. And it gives you the power to combine in augment special abilities, creating an entirely new ones. I had this game on my PS4 and it was one of the best purchases I've made for my PS4. The second I saw new on the App Store I downloaded it immediately because having this in the palm of my hand was once a dream and is now a reality.
