Awesome App
This app undoubtedly deserves millions of stars not only five. I'm a scientific researcher and handling hundreds of documents daily. This app is soooooo helpful and its developers are working so hard to make it more and more smoother and sustainable. Buy this app if you are documents-aholic. You won't regret it I promise.

Not up to ABBYY's former standards
Unfortunately, as apple releases new higher speed processors for the iPads, ABBYY dropped the dedicated functions the app previously had. Instead, anytime you want to use the OCR feature, you must let it upload to the companies cloud service, which recognizes it and then after you have become old and have membership in the AARP, it will plop back an OCR version on your device. This is really a disappointing change that - in my opinion disqualifies ABBYY as the top ocr app on iOS. The haven't updated the desktop version in years but it's still the better alternative to using your mobile devices...unfortunately

Very Disappointed
This has the potential to be a quality product. The developers clearly care for and promptly respond to feedback. Have owned this for a week and it needs some serious tweaking. In no particular order here are a few suggestions and complaints:
0. Does not correct for page distortion along the edges and spine? Extremely disappointed. Paying $60 for a product that lacks what the competition offers for $3.99?
1. The auto scan feature should have a feature that allows one to temporarily pause between sheets. Sometimes it captures the same sheet twice, the table, or your hand in the process of moving a sheet.
2. Would also be helpful to allow HDR resolution and zooming.
3. The 100 page upload limit is a mild nuisance.
4. No support for iCloud? Or Amazon Cloud?
5. Autocrop does not pick up on the edges of pages even when documents and books are placed on sharply contrasting backgrounds?
Will revise my review as issues are resolved however am sadly going back to Scanner Pro.

Does the job
In the past it was a scanner and computer to capture and recognize documents. In the past it was about working with restrictions. Now it's about getting the results in the moment. There's a need to scan a passport just as the plane is being boarded to create a pdf. No issue. There are notes in the bulletin at church I want to recognize to use in my ereader. It's done without any disturbance. There are so many ways to use this tool I am thankful for. Keep up the good work.

Great Prpgram
I'd give 5-stars when they allow you to modify properties before saving and allow you to reorganize the list of cloud services.
Does an excellent job of scanning and OCR. Note that OCR is done in the cloud on their servers but works very well.
Happy I spent the money on this app.

Beats full size scanner in OCR accuracy
I had a paper document with a noisy background and this app beat the office scanner in accuracy by a good margin.

Not very usefull.
Waste of money. I bought the group package that included the Text grabber, Doc/Book scanner, and Biz card apps. None of these apps are of use to me. The Doc/Book scanner requires a internet connection which would have stopped my purchase had it been included in the product description. Next the scanner does not work that well at all, contrary to apps available on pc. If you want to scan a book, your better off doing a destructive scan (take it apart), send pages through using ADF @ high res and using ABBYY for pc or mac to put it together. This software maybe (with emphasis) be good in a pinch when nothing else is available.

I love this app!

Love this app!
I rely on this app exclusively to scan all my papers. It has made it so easy for me to store my documents digitally, and it gets the job done quickly. I love the different filter options and the auto cropping is great. It's also really easy to adjust if it's a little off. I definitely recommend this app!

Photo Gallery not working
Although ABBYY consistently provides the best OCR and frequently updates their products for stability, one bug has made this application nearly unusable in recent months. For several versions the photo gallery simply will not update in the app to show all photos available on my iPad. The thumbnail on the albums will show the correct image and the image is downloaded on my iPad, but I the FineScanner app's photo gallery will not display all photos.

Fast, easy and accurate
I was amazed at the speed of this scanner. The OCR was the fastest of any of the IOS scanners I have tried. So far this is also the most accurate OCR I have used. I purchased another scanner, in fact I have most of them, and this is by far the most accurate. One "name" scanner I previously used gave horrible result with their OCR. Happy to now use Fine Scanner Pro.

App Crashes After Update
This is a spectacular application but the recent update to iOS 10 compatibility has made it useless. It crashes after about five seconds no matter what. Please hurry and squash this bug for a five star review again.

iOS 10 update keeps crashing; needs additional page formats
Normally a 4-5 star app for me but this latest update for iOS 10 keeps crashing after 15-20 seconds of use, making this version totally useless, so now it gets a one star.
I use this app almost daily; it is one of my all-time favorites. I just wish it had additional page formats, as I frequently need to scan ledger size (11"x17") and larger architectural plans and the app only has 4 standard sizes from which to choose.
Fix the crashes and add these features and I'll re-rate at 5 stars.

Life savior
Wow, this app literally saved my student life :) Was preparing my thesis, needed to scan more than 1000 pages just in 2 days, cause my teacher gave me those books just for a weekend. I don't know how long it would have taken me if I had been using a usual flatbed scanner. But this app allows you to scan double-page spread taking just 1 photo, and it does it reeeaaally quick!! So 1 photo — and you have 2 pages perfectly scanned. And the real thing is that Finescanner can also capture the text in those scans, so you can even make an editable .doc file out of your simple iphone photo and copy/paste the text into your thesis! That's definitely the coolest stuff, thanks a lot devs, I owe you a part of my degree :))

The Best Hands Down
I have every scanner available on my iPhone and iPad. I find it ABBY is positively the fastest and best scanner out there. Are you seven the others and had a favorite but when I switch the abbey I couldn't believe the performance. It is fast and easy to use. My go to scanner.

Great, but needs import functionality
I think the ABBYY engine for OCR and book scanning is top-notch. The one pain point is not being able to use those great engines on scans I have done in another app. Please allow book scanning on a PDF added from the share sheet. Many thanks!

Good but....
Still missing automatic export to Evernote. Even if scannable has less features, I still prefer it over finescanner, since scannable is just way faster and working autonomously. Automatic export would be the killer feature!!!!

I rely on the desktop Finereader which is amazing. This is solid but not quite there yet. Crashes a bit. And please, add your Indonesian language OCR. It's why I bought Finereader; it is something that evil Acrobat does not have.

Great potential...
I'm a big fan of the desktop ABBYY FineReader, so tried this mobile version. The operations and workflow are smooth. The results are good. This would be a 5-star review if (a) the cloud services included OneDrive, and OneDrive for Business, and custom WebDAV (all of which are supported by competitive products) and (b) the app feedback link from the App Store didn't result in a 404 error.

Could be Better
OCR capabilities are good and export options are great! However, I am unable to open or import a file (PDF, JPG, etc.) from another app or even online service (iCloud Drive, Google Drive, Etc.) this is a huge gap as you are only able to scan and OCR a document that you take a picture of, not one that was previously scanned.

Excellent app
Really love this app. Use it every day. One small gripe. If you OCR a text it should be possible to quickly send to the clipboard, which just happens to be the main way I grab OCR text. As it is you have to manually select and copy - a 3 or 4 step process.
Still this is an excellent app. Buy it.

Excellent Scanner App!
Does a great job scanning miscellaneous documents with my iPad, offers four options for colors, great edge detection, ability to tag by subject. Probably more features I have not yet discovered. My new favorite app for scanning! Highly recommend.

No custom size, bad review
I require the ability in a scanner to set custom document size. I just tried the app on a 3 x 6 in document and no ability to adjust to the correct size. I don't want to have it fill a Letter or A4 paper when I print.

The best scanner app, by far!!!
This app is fast, does a great job of automatically detecting document borders and cropping to fit, and has the best and fastest OCR, because it sends the file to ABBYY’s online OCR engine for processing, instead of doing it on the phone. I’m getting rid of everything else I’ve tried!
