Omada is the cats meow

I have truly been enjoying this past 7 weeks being on the Omada program. This program is really helping me on my quest to better health. It’s fun, easy to follow and my coach Taylor is awesome. This program provides a lot of very useful information and being able to discuss any issues , highs or lows with the Group is another great tool, also Taylor will give suggestions to help you thru. I have already lowered my blood pressure, lowered my blood sugar and I have lost some weight. I am so happy that I joined this program. It feels so good to get my energy and strength back and have fun, Thank You Omada , You Rock 😊

Poor Experience, Can’t Share Photos and Other Fails

Omada is not very useful app. Been using for a few days.
Fails:
1) Cannot Share photos with built-in messaging
2) Cannot Connect my Activity Tracker app (Strava); only 6 apps supported
3) Cannot Scan/lookup food for calories nor carbs (using MyFitnessPal instead)
4) Wonky food tracking where you type in text of what you ate then select serving size, Small; Medium; Large; followed by, Healthy; Somewhat Healthy; Not Healthy; with no feedback at all as to whether you are correct or not
5) Instructions were incomplete for connecting Activity Tracker. Support Team obviously has answered the problem so often they had troubleshooting guide to copy-paste (several hours later) into email
6) Email only support; cannot message Support Team with built-in messaging
7) Coaches are friendly but spread too thin to actually read content of messages; sent screenshots (via Google Drive!) but was asked “do you see ‘Connected Apps’ instead?” Asked for ‘Practice ID’ b/c name provided (Omada Health) was not working. Told coach: “Error, ID cannot have spaces” then was told to use ‘Omada Health’ again!
8) App asks for daily BG# even though we have connected a CGM w/ 24x7 graphs

Program works better than anything else!

I am well-educated on healthy habits, and have tried them all at least once ;-) The Omada program really works because it’s long-term and doesn’t want us to rush to adopt a whole new lifestyle. Instead, we take it one week at a time, and circle back to concepts too. I really like the app as well - synths with my Apple Watch, lets me commune with others in the program, and provides simple yet effective food tracking.

Patience is a Virtue

I appreciate that this program stays with me, even though I’ve had obstacles (death in family, new puppy training and destruction, etc.) that have distracted me and made my progress slow down. There has been no negative feedback, just encouragement to get back on track.
I also like the Coaches positivity, the solid information provided and assistance in setting goals. My favorite is the cool scale, though. 👍🏻
Thanks for the program. 🙂

Excellent tool

This program is an excellent way to track key metrics and milestones. It helps to keep you accountable - as long as you’re motivated to use it! It’s hard for me to track exercise by steps - I like to spin and I don’t want to get caught up in wearing a special device all day to count steps. I’d like more focus and options around exercise. Other than that, I like the support, education and coaching.

Working Well

Omada provides the tools I need to focus on what I’m eating and food volume as well as providing opportunities for me to learn from weekly lessons and tips throughout the week. Simple app but too simple

As someone who uses the My Fitness Pal, I don’t really like this app to track food.
I personally like to see my intake of calories and carbs. When I track food through the Omada app, i often wonder food that I track as “healthy” may not be healthy to someone else.
Additionally, I wish an Apple Watch could sync my fitness activity .

Impersonal Program

This is the second weight loss program I’ve tried and yet again, nothing is tailored to your habits, eating history, exercise, etc. You will get the exact same information and “feedback” as everyone else. I tried this program for two weeks and I feel guilty my insurance provider paid for this.
The program is very deceiving in making it think your Coach or Group care about anything you provide as input. For example, I explained to my Coach in our initial contact my reasons for joining, goals, and challenges I wanted to overcome. I was left with essentially “that’s nice” and then just bombarded with daily rhetorical questions instead of actual feedback or analysis. After I stopped entering data or responding to questions, you would think my Coach would reach out or check in to see what’s up but nope. The lack of care makes this program so impersonal that you have to wonder why this program even exists.
Don’t join thinking you are going to get anything more than some canned lessons and programs that are available via a quick Google search. The food tracker is useless compared to other free apps. The only positive item is the scale linked to the app.

Overall love the app for making life changes that will be a big benefit financially and physically going forward.
Only one thing with the food entires if they could include repeated meals that can be stored to be apply based on the meal similar to how myfitnesspal does their app. It would take this app to another level in my opinion...

Tried others - this works!

I was able to earn the Omada program through earning points through the Smart Health program. I tried Noom last year and I was very overwhelmed and didn’t feel supported. The Omada program has one lesson a week, the coach is quick to respond and supportive. With Omada you are not counting calories, you are simply listing what you eat, then there are buttons small, med., large, not healthy, mostly healthy, good.
When the coach posts a prompt in the group chat it is nice to see others response. You also get your own personalized scale that talks to the app. And tracks your weight. The only thing I wish they had was a place to track your exercise. Omada only tracks steps. I just message my coach my exercise did the day, what I did and the duration. It is laid back, not time consuming, coaches are supportive and if you have the privilege of doing the Smart program it is free.

I was happy with this program until I shared that I had diabetes 2 diagnosis

After 44 weeks loyalty to the program, daily weigh ins, participation in groups, daily walking and following the readings I was sent a very rude notice from the Coach who gave me 2 weeks to get a response form completed by my doctor or I would be dropped from the program. No concern for what I shared, no comments or support to what I can do to deal with my diet to help monitor my diabetes . She never asked if I had other support. I wrote the program and received a nicely written notice of needing a form to complete the program. I have decided that if the program couldn’t adjust to a change for my diet that it is to canned of a program to serve my needs.

Needs Help - Coach Needs Coaching

The coach I was assigned too did not reach out ever to see how I was progressing or to root me on. I was required to ask for help when needed even though the program details that the coach will help guide through nutrition and fitness. I was also under the impression I would be part of group of 10 people max but my group was over 30 which gave no hope to one-on-one help.
Worse yet, when I asked to start again or if I was eligible to reapply I was told I couldn’t. Tough luck and I should suggest to my coach how they could do better.
Very disappointed that I did not get the help I was told I would get and I do not get to go at it again even though other members of the team have said this is their second or third time.

Omada Works!!!

I am very grateful for Omada and the app! The app is super user-friendly! You can find everything so easily: where to track your meals, communicate with your coach and group, see your step-count for the day, and and has helpful resources sent to you right at your fingertips! I love how the Omada scale seamlessly sends your weigh-ins into your app, and how most step-counting apps , like the Health app on the iPhone, syncs with Omada! Progress is easy to track! My fave is how intuitive the food tracking is. It’s free-form, yet picks up on the foods you’re trying to enter and then counts how many servings of veggies and fruits you’ve had for the week! Amazing! Thanks, Omada!!

“Coach” useless, app okay

The app itself is easy to navigate and works well enough. The coach assigned to my program was useless. I sent a message asking a question (it was even one of the ones they give you as example things to ask! I just happened to have the same one.) and the coach replied with a form message not even mentioning what I had asked, let alone responding to it. The messages I received from the coach were clearly just copy and paste sent to everyone, there was zero personalized support. I’ve already lost over 100 pounds on my own and was really excited for some support and guidance for the last leg of my weight loss journey. This program was a joke and waste of my time. Deleting the app after leaving this review.

Program good so far, app could be improved

Note this is a review of the app, not the program. The discussion boards are hard to follow and not well organized in my opinion. You can’t comment on a comment in a thread so the discussions seem to get jumbled and out of order with all comments and sub-comments mixed together. I can’t see easily where a discussion topic starts. Would be nice if you could click on a discussion link and see all comments on it and sub-comments and comments on sub-comments. And maybe see which comments are new somehow. I feel I have to re-read things to look for updates and new posts/comments because it’s not clear what is new. Also, please consider doing separate water tracking. I drink throughout the day, not with meals so I don’t track water in the meal tracking but would like to have a log of how much I drink each day without using another app. I do like the personal coach message board and the progress page (except for the water thing)! Having the resources separately is helpful too. Would be nice if I could dismiss ones that aren’t helpful or interesting to me so I had the most helpful in my list. Good start but not great yet.

Living a healthier life!

I’ve been using Omada for a month now and really love it. It helps me stay motivated to live a healthier life. I weigh in every day using the scale they provide. I walk every day and I track my meals. Just looking at what I’m putting in my mouth helps me make healthier choices. My coach looks over my meals and has made some suggestions on where I can improve, even offering recipes! I have private conversations with her by messaging about 3-4 times a week and then I interact with my whole group about the same. I’ve steadily lost weight each week and I’m sure I’m getting my cholesterol under control.
Thanks Omada!

Link with my net diary

I really am feeling motivated and successful working with this program. I love that the scale is linked. Personally I’m more successful feeling accountable and not alone. So happy with the group and leader. The fact that my Fitbit is linked with the program helps not having to record manually. However I wish the MyNetDiary was linked with the program. I have to log my food in two places because I like to see the calories counts like MyNetDiary calculates and I know I’d be even more successful if I didn’t have to record twice. I’m already down 7 pounds since we started the program and seeing results is helping me keep motivated.

It’s a joke

This program is a complete joke. There is no community aspect despite what the marketing materials would like you to think. The “coaches” can’t foster any interaction in the group and contribute zero beyond pasting articles and recipes from the internet. I think it’s notable that the coaches don’t list their credentials because I think they have none. It’s like people responded to an ad in the paper to work from home - no experience needed! Honestly it seems like a scam to fleece money from insurance companies trying to help their members by offering preventative services. This ain’t it, folks. Don’t waste your time with this program.
Also as others have mentioned the food tracking is like blogging. There is no tracking of calories or macros or even guidelines for how much you should be eating. It’s useless. Download MyFitnessPal and you’ll be much better off.

Easy to incorporate into my day

I had been told about Omada for a long time, but finally took the step to sign up when working remotely due to COVID-19. The idea of tracking food and the effort that would take was a barrier for me. However, once I started, I realized how easy OMADA makes the process to input food tracking into my phone. Also, the phone tracks steps, and weight on scale automatically updates, so it makes it simple to look at progress. I am glad I started about a month ago. Of course I still need to make choices and take actions, but recording info in the Omada system is much easier than I had anticipated.

Woefully behind on technology

I use Myfitnesspal to track my food, Garmin to track my fitness, and have a Garmin Index Scale to track my weight (the Omada scale integrates with NOTHING but their app). It’s 2020 and I think it would be great if Omada could integrate these with other apps and intake data from these sources and really utilize it (yes it does bring in fitness data from Garmin - but does little with it). Omada could then take this data, process it (maybe use AI), and give me recommendations on what I need to change based on all these data points to reach my fitness/health goals. It seems that Omada lacks vision for their technology as nothing seems to have changed or improved since I started using it for the past 2 years.

App could use some work

I find it frustrating that the only activity that the app keeps track of is steps. It shows that I only made my activity goal 1 out of 3 days this week even though I completed over 90 minutes of exercise each day (yoga, strength, HIIT, rowing). I find this to be a de motivator as I try hard to close all of my activity rings on my Apple Watch everyday. I also do not like the meal tracking - I would like it to be more like my fitness app where you can scan UPC codes and accurately measure portions. I like the coaching and my coach Helena is fantastic. She always sends personalized messages and content.

Excellent But Needs Updates.

This is an EXCELLENT program that works by letting you be you, with motivating weekly lessons, group sharing and, more that anything, building excitement regarding eagerly awaiting the daily weigh-in that almost instantly sends your progress to your app via the Internet.
One HUGE DOWNER>>> As soon as you hit your goal—but remain in the program for additional goals, the app resets your total weight lost so the larger number of total lost disappears. Major de-motivator. Apparently, your coach can still your total progress but you—the one trying so hard—cannot.
This is a huge flaw that can easily be fixed because the data is already there! Omada, you need to change this immediately!

Syncing with other programs would make it perfect

I think the concept behind this is great but there is a lot of room for improvement. I’m continually having to resync it with my Fitbit to get my steps to log and my meals only synced once. They need to have a food database that lists the calories and macros like My Fitness Pal or My Keto. There should also be a place to track liquids, a place for comments and a place to log exercise other than steps. I feel like people would be more committed to daily input if these items were available in the app. The way it is now I have to enter my meals into a separate app to determine my daily calories and then into this app for my coach to see. This is a good program with a good concept but very bad execution.

I had been losing weight on my own but Omada helped me get over the weight not moving hump by encouraging me to weigh-in (they provided the scale) each morning, log my food (can just take pictures), log my water and then have accountability with my coach and team members. Thanks for the help Omada. I’ve been sharing about your program since I started and had one coworker that joined. Appreciate the help you’re giving!!

Great program!

My first review a year ago was not good but I’m a true believer of this program now. It is the only one that has worked for me. I love the app especially that it tracks your weigh ins. The scale you receive sends your weight to the app automatically. The texts are motivating but there is no pressure just reminders. The weekly lessons are short and to the point with great advice. I really liked my coach, Amanda. I like how you can get in touch with her whenever you have a question. She never bothers me just checks in with me once in a while. I even got my sister to join through her own employer. I highly recommend this program.

Excellent Results and Accomplishments!

I’m grateful for the Omada program. I joined the Omada program this year so I can get rid of high blood pressure meds and bring my cholesterol range to normal. In accomplishing these goals, my doctors said that I needed to lose the weight. When I started the program, I was obese.
My weight is down, my cholesterol is normal and my high blood pressure is normal. I’m a “new person,” according to my coach Michelle. I changed my eating habits — I eat plant-based foods, and I exercise regularly. I follow-up with the group discussions weigh-in, track my meals and read my weekly lessons. Each day I am learning something new about my journey to optimum health.
Thank you Omada! Happy New Year!

Good for beginners

I really wanted to like this app, but it’s definitely targeted towards beginners. The resources are for people unfamiliar with how weight loss works who have a significant amount of weight to lose, not someone looking to lose a little weight to help lower blood pressure and/or diabetes risk factors. Participants are only that in name, and no one really participates in the discussions, something that Omada touts as a key component to success. The scale is pretty cool, though I question the accuracy. I like that it’s lower than my weight watchers scale, but a beautiful lie is still a lie. All in all, Omada is just a big “meh” for me that really only keeps me coming back because my insurance paid for it, and I want to make sure I’m holding myself accountable to the money that was paid for me to be on it. It’s nothing new, and is only for beginners. Anyone that has ever done anything fitness or nutrition wise has already surpassed what the lessons will teach you

Excellent program and coaching staff

My doctor recommended me join Omada for my weight and lifestyle management needs. The app was easy to use and the coaching staff was personable and fantastic to work with. Ive learned a great deal about myself and my relationship with food; or lack thereof. The weigh-in and tracking process were seamless for me; as the app immediately connected to my Fitbit watch and iPhone. With reminders and direct messages from my coach(es), I had no excuse not to track my progress and succeed.
Through weekly lessons, my success came in the form of an increased knowledge of food and its connectivity to everything around me. While Ive seen a decrease in my weight, Im more pleased with how I now see food and its purpose. The more I learned, the less Ive had to track my food as my lifestyle and habits changed. Which I believe is the true goal of Omada, as oppossed to helping people lose weight; weight loss just happens to be a healthy byproduct!

A Life Changer

The Omada health program really works & the ease and convenience is very much a part of the reason for success. A very simple place to track progress (automatic weight updates from the web enabled scales), review lessons, track activities, easy entry of meals, discussions & advice from coach and group members. The program lessons are excellent-informative, well written, interesting & they work !
I lost 40 lbs in under 6 months and have kept off over 3 years now through simple lifestyle changes - none of which are the least bit arduous.

Great idea but the app need improvements

I love the team a coach aspect. And the lessons are great. But I hate the format used to input the food tracking. And making corrections is terribly challenging. The ability to use photos for food tracking is saving the day. (you have to pay attention to the box which skews the photos, but I’ll take it over the entry process)
Also, I wish you could adjust the “day times”. I work second shift, so my day doesn’t end until after midnight. This affects some of my steps tracking and doesn’t give an accurate representation of my day.
The Content is great app needs work.

The Common Sense Greatness in this Program

I can’t say enough about this program. As my title indicates, there is such common sense and rationality about this approach. We are encouraged without criticism; we are given lessons without being preached to; and .we can access shared recipes that are not ridiculous. I say that, as I reflect on some of the commercials for the most popular diet programs - featuring all the wonderful desserts and snacks that you can buy and consume as part of their process. In my mind, that is ridiculous. If you don’t begin with a common sense approach for portion control AND for the consumption of snacks and desserts, how do you truly modified your eating behavior in a positive way. This program focuses on the best way to lose weight and sustain the loss. You adjust, you modify, you don’t apply guilt or false expectations, AND you ultimately achieve success - it may be slow, and it might be more deliberate, but like the race between the tortoise and the hare.........let’s remember who actually won the race!

What a great program!

Omada is a wonderful program! They provide you with the tools you need to change your life! My coach supported me daily by being available for questions and by providing encouragement. The group support was also very helpful! You are part of a small group at first, all going through the same part of the program. You know you are not doing this alone! Later when you become part of a larger group, you still have the group support & encouragement.
The weekly lessons gave information that I was able to use to make changes to my diet & activity level. You are not expected to make big, drastic changes all at once, but make small changes, that become habits. These small habits are the lifestyle changes that will help keep the weight off.
I was able to lose weight, but also make some great changes to my cholesterol, blood sugar and blood pressure numbers! I feel much more energetic and healthy.
Thank you Omada! You are a life changer!

Conscious Living

Omada awakened my inner coach and in a sense holds me accountable for what I eat and what I do. Writing down what I eat and how often I eat force me to confront the fact that I am eating for reasons other than being hungry. Automated fitness tracking allows me to “check in” with myself on my level of activity when feeling tired or depressed. Typically, when my spirits or energy is low my activity level is low. So, I get up and get out. The philosophy is working for me at least. I weigh what I did when I was in high school. Blood pressure is normal and blood chemistry looks good as well including very healthy ldl and hdl levels and tryglyceride levels and ratios. But what I really enjoy seeing is the record of my daily activity. I set a goal of 7500 daily steps. If I am short at 8pm I will not be happy till I get the count above my daily goal. 😀. The concept is reality for me at least.

I feel bad that my insurance company paid for this program

I have been trying to lose weight and exercise more on my own and just wasn’t succeeding, so I was excited when my insurance co offered me the chance to participate in this program. However, 6 wks in and I’m quitting. It’s a waste of my time and not helpful in the least. The food tracking is way too basic (way better off using MyFitnessPal, which tracks macros and breaks down nutritional info). Our first moderator was unable to get anyone engaged in the least, myself included. The issue is that all they do is just cut and paste these flat, pre-written prompts. The scale is fine but I already had one that tracked to my phone. The lessons and reading material aren’t anything I couldn’t google. I think this program and app might be helpful to someone who has zero knowledge at all about food/nutrition and has never tracked meals at all. Most people who struggle with their weight, however, have been trying on their own for a while and that’s not the case. Wish I had better things to say about Omada but I’m out and going back to myfitnesspal app on my own.

Love this app! Exactly what I needed.

I was looking for an app like this, even went so far as to try and create my own using Coda. However, that did not work. I stumbled across this app as a service paid for by my work. It’s exactly everything I wanted! Tracks weight, meals, and activity all in one intuitive app. I love the daily check off style list on the front page. It reminds you of your daily goals and shows you what you still need to do today. The best part- it updates automatically. This app is so easy and so useful. I would pay to use it if my work wasn’t already.

Cookie-cutter approach

Signed up through my employer, but I honestly find it lacking. They take a cookie-cutter one plan fits all approach. As I am already on a diet plan under the supervision of my physician that does not for their mold, the food tracker is useless. Most of my activity isn’t tracked correctly. The online coach is ok but again they force you into a group setting which isn’t complimentary to my plan. The only real thing I get from it is the scale, and I didn’t even need that really, I have one and am capable of logging my weights.
If you’re someone who knows very little to nothing about getting healthy (which may or may not include loosing weight) then this program may be helpful to you. But if you have been down the road before, or have actual medical training, this won’t do much for you.

Not user friendly

This app is not the best when using because it gives an error message telling you to add a passcode to your phone to protect your health info however there is no confidential medical info of mine on this app. You have to close out the app & go back in until the message no longer pops up allowing you to post information. Also you cannot post pictures in the coach or group section. Lately I’ve been getting a message that my coach is no longer in the program & I need to pick another one “from the list above” & there is no list above nor is my coach gone. This app needs a complete over haul. Trash!!!! :(

Some glitches

For the most part, I like this app. Sometimes I log in and it doesn’t want to update. Also I can’t seem to edit my posts or view what I have posted. I went to update my dinner last night, then went to add my snacks after that, but then that reminder just disappeared so I couldn’t add my snacks for the day. I usually use pictures to upload my food, but never seem to be able to see it on my end after posting. Also, I wish I could view previous days or possibly view the next day (so I can track ahead of time like I can with MyFitness Pal). Usually during the week, I eat the same breakfast. I also like to plan ahead, so if I can add my food (even typing it in) ahead of time, that would be awesome. Also have a separate way to track water??? I don’t include it in my meals/pictures.

So-so app; should leverage other, better apps...

The app isolates itself, it doesn’t bring in info from any other app. MyFitnessPal and Fitbit do a FAR better job st meal tracking. Omada’s large-medium-small meal cannot be remotely accurate for calorie tracking. The scale they send is one user only, and it uses CELLULAR to upload weigh-ins! They could save a lot of money and make their users happier if they provided a scale that used simple Bluetooth and could also be used by family members. As it is now, I’ve needed to warn everyone to not touch the Omada scale... and I now need room for two scales. I’m not paying for this service, it’s offered through my health insurance. If you’re paying for it, ask for a refund now, and just find another provider; Omada has some maturing to do before it’s ready for prime time.

Good so far

My work wellness program introduced us to this program and so far it’s been pretty beneficial! It helps keep you responsible for your daily food intake and overall well-being. You get put in a group that you all work together to meet your goals. Know everyones goals are different per person based on their need for improvement but you have a group support team at your fingertips. No one in your group knows your reason either their just their to help and get help along the way. So far it’s been pretty beneficial to help me fall into a healthy routine that’s not a diet but a new way of living healthy!!!

Poorly Executed

My employer provides free enrollment in the Omada program, so I decided to give it a try. I found the program to be very high level, simplistic and only barely personalized. There was essentially no interaction with my “group” and the “personal” interactions with my coach were mostly canned messages or reminders. The one time I asked my coach a real question about a diet plan, the reply was incorrect and scientifically invalid.
I have filled out a survey they sent out, explaining my disappointment and poor impression of the program. I also requested information on how to return the scale they give you, and no one has bothered to contact me...not even my coach.
I found that my usual routine of diet and exercise was much more effective for me, and I actually gained weight while in the Omada program. Once I went back to my usual routine, I quickly got back to my baseline weight, and continued to lose some of the last few stubborn pounds that I was hoping the Omada program would help me tackle.
I have asked several of my coworkers who are also enrolled, and I’m getting very similar reviews. I am very disappointed in the program, and shudder to think what my employer paid for this. They say all the right things up front, but the execution, especially the promise of personalization, motivational interactions and coaching, are just not there.

Happy member

This program addressed personal responsibility to develop long term changes for a healthier lifestyle. It gave all the tools needed and lured you to look farther, making changes gradually which enabled me to adapt to it. I did not want to be diabetic, where I was headed. The changes in my overall blood tests was nothing short of amazing. And I lost a lot of weight! When I first received information on the program I knew I did not want this level of personal accountability and set out to do it on my own. Mistake and months lost so I finally did sign up. It was easy to learn to weigh in daily. It was easy to see where small changes made a difference. It was easy to use the reference materials and links to other sites. The lessons were thought provoking.
I honestly don’t think I would have ever accomplished this if my doctor had not guided me to the Omada program.

Love it!

I love Omada! It has changed my life! The lessons are great and I learned more about nutrition and activity that helped me know what to do to become healthier.
I have used other weight loss systems in the past with very few results. The fact that I have coaches and a team on Omada made a big difference!
It’s easy to track my food and activity with the Omada app and I have been happy with my results. I love that my scale syncs with my Omada account and helps me see my progress. I highly recommend Omada to anyone who is serious about becoming healthier!

Poor tracking

The program is friendly and easy to take in but this app is terrible. The food tracking is the worst. It doesn’t provide any feedback about nutrition (sodium, calories, fats, proteins, serving sizes) - you just enter things (good habit) but it is not smart and doesn’t have a good search feature externally, just searches for what you all ready entered...and not even between meal types. For example, if I ate something for a snack, the app isn’t smart enough to make it available when search for it at lunch.
It didn’t sync with other apps so important program measurables like steps and water intake while required to be measured are not unless I use 3 different apps. I can’t enter my water directly into Omada. If I enter it on iHeath, I have to convert things into the metric system (not going to happen). I am using my FitBit app for steps and now water but it’s not captured in Omada.

Makes Sense

I started this almost a week ago. I worried I wouldn’t like keeping track of “everything “ I eat and all of my steps or workouts. After 3 days I was amazed at how it just clicked. When you keep track of these things you start questioning the foods you are eating. You question is this good or bad for me. Same with movement. Why am I sitting instead of walking in place or going for a walk. Now instead of sitting during an hour of TV, I get up and walk in place for some of it. It’s just that easy. I’m loving it and already after almost a week, I am challenging myself and feeling better for it.

Best investment in myself I’ve ever made

I love having the support and feedback from the group and the coach. Weighing myself everyday and having my weight sent wirelessly to the app helps me stay focused on my goals. Tracking what I eat helps me be mindful of what I am putting in my body. This app and program is exactly what I needed to continue to the next step in my fitness journey. I’m doing my first 5K in a few weeks, and plan to do a mud run in April. I feel confident that I’ll be able to both bc of the support this app and program provides.

About as good as it gets

The app itself is easy to navigate. Not perfect but easy. It’s organized well and not too busy. Syncs with Apple health and other programs so that you don’t have to enter info twice. One thing that might be an improvement and that would be the ability to scan food items for easier documentation. The other improvement would be some tweaks to how the group chat works, to be able to tell when new comments have been added as well as an easier way to get to the main thread once you’re inside a comment thread.
The program is excellent. The info is super easy to understand and helpful. And I’m losing weight!

Omada is an excellent whole person centered health program

I’ve been with Omada for 8-9 months and would like to give it 5 stars! Omada has stuck with me this entire time and my journey has been bumpy. Omada provides a lot of excellent information in a way that is motivating, compassionate, patient, and effective. The weekly lessons are fantastic, and the fun tools are also great. Having a coach and group of other individuals on their own personal journey is one of the best things. In the beginning I used my group and my coach a lot but as I’ve become more independent I use them less but to know they will always be there is so so rewarding and such an important factor for my success! I would absolutely recommend to anyone!

Love the program but.....

I love the program but have an issue with the computer entries. The computer program is unforgiving. If you have a typing error, you cannot correct it. If you remember something you cannot add it. This is a primitive program! No flexibility! I am speaking of the food diary section.
I also question the accuracy of the scale sent to us. I have worked hard to loose weight. I work out with a trainer at our local gym and have really cut back portion size as well as healthy food choices. I step on this scale daily. Each time the scale has shown weight loss. It varies from negative ounces to a pound loss at each weigh in. Today I asked for a body evaluation which measures fat, muscle and water weight. The scale at the gym was 2 lbs heavier than the weight shown on my scale. For someone who is working as hard as I am, each ounce of weight loss is a hard won victory. I came home so depressed. I thought I’d hit a 10lb weight loss victory. Not so.
On the positive side, I like the idea of journaling meals and daily weigh-ins. I especially enjoy the weekly lessons. I have learned a lot regarding seeds, grains and healthy choices. I look forward to learning more about making healthy choices when shopping, eating out, and cooking for my family.
Overall, a good program but really need to make the food journaling program more user friendly. Also scales need to be accurate.

I was so very lucky when my health provider said that I qualified for this program I didn’t believe it but the scale signed up for the program I’m in the group everyone is fantastic our trainer is amazing the communication is effortless you can do it web-based or through your phone on this app, The way the program is set up to encourage you and inspire you but I probably should just review the app and not the program I don’t know I’m just going to say it’s amazing I love it Derae say almost magical but nothing is magical when it comes to hard work it’s the technology that makes it seem magical it’s the seamlessness the integration and the communication everything comes together perfectly it’s just an excellent program I highly recommend you ask your healthcare provider if you qualify if not maybe you could use Omada instead of a gym membership,, idk , I’m only in week one so I’ll wait a much better review after I’ve been in the program for a few more weeks so far so excellent I’m really loving it

Staying Focused With My Wife

Omada has been important in making me stay focused on the need to watch what I am eating and pushing me to get out of my chair and walk. I know that I need to move more and I know I will soon reach the point where I will start being much more active.
I know that I cannot let myself backslide and it important that I have a wonderful wife, Bunny, who is going thru the program with me. She helps me stay focused and has created some meals that are tasty. I know that I will fall off the wagon on certain occasions like holidays but I will focus on trying to stay as true to the program as possible.

Not so good.

Just started with Omada and nit having fun. Hopefully things will improve and if so I’ll revise the rating. For now: the scale does not transmit my weight from inside my small home. I have to take scale outside on front porch to weigh in and transmit the data. Fine fir now. Not so much when the cold weather sets it. Regarding syncing the step counter with my fitbit...despite following directions to the letter, the app insists on syncing with my iphones health app. So my steps are not getting counted unless I manually add them. I don’t want to manually add my steps and weight each day. Technology is supposed to do that. When I try to send a message to my group or respond to a group message, the app force shuts. Unable to communicate with the group. So far tech support has not responded to any of my “feed back”.

Thank you!

I appreciate the Omada program! It has helped me understand my relationship with food and consequences of food choices. For example when I select high calorie foods, empty nutritionally, it shows up on the scale and how I feel physically. Also when I select more vegetables how I feel fuller, more energized and notice the numbers on the scale going down. It’s crazy! Thank you for my amazing Health Coach Kati, she has been super informative and knowledgeable. However you selected her for me was a genius as she is a perfect fit! And I absolutely love my pretty scale. Other than when I went to Louisiana for a week I weighed myself every morning first thing. Starting my day with the focused on my health as it relates to the numbers on the scale has helped me be more responsible and empowered my trajectory towards improved health. Best longterm solution for living healthier

This app and the Omada program have taught me so much, stuff doctors and the internet can’t teach. After going through the program I can assure you I feel more confident about making healthier choices. The information provided and the support from the coach is impeccable. They are here to help and they do. The group can either be supportive or not. If you do this go all in, the program doesn't aim to fix you immediately or make extremely drastic changes asap. They go in stages. They do it because it works. Focus on something one week, build it into your routine and keep building. I feel significantly healthier and I see results. My group wasn’t the most dedicated, but I got what I needed and I have a way to go. The program changed my life and helped me get out of a rut and actually see results. Will you fail some point yes, I did. You stick with it you will see results. Tracking is key, I understand why, its basic science experiment. Establish a baseline, keep that baseline and understand the changes based on your tracking. Figure out what your doing that caused the change and you will. Tracking is everything.

Building blocks to form lifestyle changes!

The only reason the App did not get 5 stars is that sometimes features are hidden and there are some features on the website you cannot access on the App.
Overall I’ve been thrilled with my success using Omada. My coach is active and nothing seems forced.
Weekly lessons, while simple, make information stick in your mind for those times when you’re debating an unhealthy choice or skipping a workout.
There is accountability to yourself to log meals and exercise as well as being critical of your meal choices (I wish the same was available for daily exercise or water intake).
Being in a group is great, when the group is active. As the program moves on you’ll see less participation; however this is when my coach started reaching out to me more making it still feel like a supportive group.
I’ve learned so much about health, fitness and my ability to change my patterns. I’m so grateful to my company for participating with Omada in a program for employees! Who would have thought losing weight for the holidays was achievable!
