Doesn't work again....

Not sure how to contact the developer. This is the 3rd time in a year this program stopped working and with patience, it comes back. PG&E may be changing their logic which requires the developer to update the app, but their should be some communication back to the users that they are on it! Agree it's worth every penny for what the app does, but only when it works.

Very useful

I was concerned by the negative reviews, but I trusted Tombolian's May 2 review indicating corrections had been made. I installed the app after having just spent hours calculating my own "what if" scenario analysis of various rate plans from a year of past data downloaded from PG&E. I was very pleased that this app confirmed my analysis.

Disappointing

I bought this app after reading shaky reviews - because someone posted that the developers had fixed the problems weeks back. Not true. The concept is great but the execution of something that works once every 15 times you try it is embarrassing. This is not a PGE problem, this is an app design problem. I really hope they can fix what's wrong.

Please read!!!

Anybody reading this that has had trouble with data updates from 4/20/17 - 5/1/17, don't worry! I've spoken to the developer and learned that PG&E changed things on their end making the app require modification. They assure me it's fixed and all the missing data will roll in in the next day or so.

I've been using this app for over a year and it's a MUST HAVE for solar owners such as myself.

Agreed it wasn't the easiest to find the contact info, but a search for NDILI TECHNOLOGIES did the trick. Perhaps the developer can put better info in app, but whatever... I found 'em.

I hate seeing a great product's rating get trashed when all they're (the developer) trying to do is make something better than the crap PG&E expects us to live by; confusing at best...

I LOVE LOVE LOVE this product and am so happy they are fixing it. Worth every penny!

Not working this week...

It was great for four months but hasn't updated data for over a week now. This is after paying a fee for cloud storage. There's no contact info to get help or to complain. There's no way to know if it's a temporary problem or a permanent end of service.

This app allows you to make sense of PG&E's complicated choices of rate plans. If you have solar or an electric vehicle it makes even more sense to check the savings under different rate plans. The app will download the latest data available from PG&E's website which is usually two days behind. It will give you the ability to check the costs under any rate for any time period. It's years ahead of the PG&E website. If you want to manage your energy usage this app will save you lots.

Seems like an awesome idea but it dworks any seem to work. It took my PGE login info just fine but it still says "Initializing" under accounts after 24 hours. Totally stuck. Also, need to add EV-A and EV-B options.

Excellent App!!

This is the app I have been waiting for. It will load up all of your PG&E electricity use data and make it meaningful. An awesome tool to compare how your bill would change going from one rate plan to another. Easily worth the $8. Kudos to the team whose hard work brought this very useful app to the market!

3/28/17 - my only concern is that the rate schedules are not updated in a timely manner. Rate schedules are now a year out-of-date.

Awesome app but deceiving business model

I bought this app for $10 because it was highly recommended and it worked great for about a year and a half. Then suddenly it stopped working saying I now need a subscription to keep paying more money, and the link I click for seeing what subscription options exist makes the app just freeze. This is not what I paid the fairly high initial price for, if I had known I need a subscription then the initial download should have been free ? I am very disappointed and feel betrayed.

Fantastic App!

App Store is a little confusing, this app will function without having to make an in-app purchase for 1 year. Used App to duplicate my PG&E billing periods. In the last five months of 2016 I spent $1500 with PG&E. This App would have saved me just over 25% by helping me select an alternate rate plan. I charge two EVs and this App is the best $7 I've spent. The custom date range function is a little clumsy, but stick with it the results are worth the effort.

This is an aw some app and there is nothing else like it. The big BUT is that is quit working and it appears my subscription expired but I am unable to tell because when I try to renew it just freezes. VERY UNFORTUNATE.

Nice App, removed features without notification

Very useful app to determine best rate tier and understand net energy monitoring vs use. However, I was very unhappy when they removed View My Bill and View Payments functionality. Wrote to support and received a poor answer - they just quit supporting the features and did not notify paying customers.

Amazing, Amazing App

I can't get over this app - best thing ever. We have solar, an electric car and a rate schedule that PG&E will no longer offer effective 3/1--so had to choose which rate schedule to use. I was able to recalculate past bills in different rate schedules to see which one was best. More important, it got me looking at our Energy usage. I realized how much are canned lights were consuming bought LED and started making sure the lights are out when they we weren't using them. Our February usage so far is about a third of last year! I have downloaded data from PG&E in the past but this app is so convenient and easy to use - incredible. (Now, if they could just include Solar City info, I would be in heaven)

Great concept, needs polishing

Having this data is very informative for people trying to monitor and reduce energy usage. However, the graphics look dated, the data lags by 2 days, and more detailed plots/graphs are needed. Overall, too much text information, and not enough pictures. Could we get color coded usage graphs that highlight energy used in different rate tiers or time of use rates? Also, for people who installed solar or bought an EV, we would like some plots that compare current use vs. historical use.

Outstanding app with great support

I recently bought a house and an electric car. I was also considering adding solar generation. This app was critical to helping we make a good decision on solar and which rate plan to use. The data is as current as the PG&E web site and in a much more useable form. I currently consult this app daily to shape our power usage.

Perhaps most importantly, the support is quick and responsive. I found a minor flaw in the cost roll up for my November bill. The developer got back to me immediately and developed a fix within 24 hours. The issue concerned how the software managed months that bridged summer and winter rates.

I rarely rate software. I have managed many software teams and can recognize a solid useful piece of work when I see one. This is a great app for managing your PG&E power bill. Buying this app is money well spent and will save you hundreds of dollars.

Got the app to work. It's hard to understand, but that's because PGE billing is hard, as much as it's the apps mediocre UI. Ask yourself this - you want to create your own spreadsheet instead? Hell no, so try this app!

Works For Me

Just purchased an electric car and had solar panels for five years. I created a complicated spreadsheet to do this with lots of manual entry. This app does it all very easily plus allows me to see peak, mid-peak, off-peak in kW-hr and also dollar amount for the selected date ranges. And gives info in all PGE rate classes so easy to compare. If this app keeps rate changes up to date I will be thrilled.

Ton of Fun

This is just a super way to monitor usage and make changes accordingly. What bogus issues those one star folks came up with. Easier to get to than PG&E website, which is also a couple of days behind. Tells you your cost for every rate schedule. With solar and a Volt, I go to this app first each day. Congrats to the developer. Slam dunk.

Disappointed

I paid $4.99 this evening for this app. When I tried to launch in on my iPhone 6 plus, I was informed that the PG&E website is down till 3:30 am Sunday. So far I'm not impressed by this app.

I'll check it in the morning. I hope it's not going to be a POS app.

Useful app for Solar customers

Solar customers contribute energy to the grid in the middle of the day. By using this app it helps you to decide what plan to use in order to get the most out of your solar. The only thing bad about this app is it is two to three days behind PG&E's website on it's data. If it updated more often I would have gave it five stars. I wish I could contact developer to ask; if they would update data more often.

UPDATE: The app is now updating more often. If they improve app to where it updates everyday then it will definitely earn 5 stars. If this improvement is made, then this will be a must have app for those who have solar panels.

Terrific app

Data is power! This app provided us insight of how much and what time are we using power, simulates the energy bill for different rates that PG&E provides, etc. We now know exactly how much we will save on our monthly bill if we bought an electric vehicle. With additions of our Solar PV system now, we are able to plan our electric usage using the data point we get from this app.

I hope that the company is working on provide similar service for gas and water usage.

Doesn't work on iPhone 6

I downloaded this app and have been unable to get it to work. When launched it asks you to log into your PG&E account. When I enter my account login information the app keeps telling me it's invalid, yet I can go directly to the PG&E website and use the exact same information to log into my account. I tried deleting the app and reinstalling but still doesn't work.

Every PG&E Customer Needs This!

This is an extremely useful money-saving app. It paid for itself within two days after I bought it (after I changed to a cheaper rate plan).

It does an excellent job of taking all the mountains of information that is a nightmare to search and filter through on the PG&E website, and packages it into an easy-to-use and easy-to-understand concise bundle. It really puts PG&E to shame - that with all their massive technical and customer service resources, they don’t seem able to provide anything resembling the tightly packed information nugget that this third-party app is.

The only thing that isn’t working right, and that I find confusing, is the in-app purchase. It’s apparently supposed to allow you to buy a subscription to have them save your data in iCloud. The app crashes when you try to read about the subscription plans. But even without the in-app purchases, the app can access my historical data for the past 6 years from the PG&E database. So I don’t really see what I’d want the subscription for - is it supposed to be in case PG&E goes away???

In sum, on a return-on-investment basis, this app is probably the best investment I’ve made it my entire life. I wish I could find an app like this every day.

Crash on startup

Current version incompatible with iOS 8.1, app crashes a few seconds after opening on my iPhone 6+. Seems like a good app in theory, but so far a waste of money.

Update 11/12/14:

I uninstalled and reinstalled the app...it downloaded the pg&e data fine and worked. But, a few days later I tried to update my data to include the most recent days data. It says it was successful updating, but it does not show any data beyond what was initially downloaded.

Downloaded the $4.00 version, installed on iPhone 4s and I have yet to see it run. Crashes every time I click on it. Really....what's up with that?

Support was responsive but I've lost all confidence in their competence after the last update. Stay away until this app is updated and stable.

App works well again. It would be 5 stars if it showed gas utilization as well as electricity!
