Great but one big problem
I love this app and for the most part I love it but it would be nice if you could add different variations of the buzz roll like a sustained buzz roll instead of just a short buzz

Exactly what I was looking for.
Easy to use interface and the instruments sound very authentic. However, there are a few things this app could use. There has to be an undo feature for when you accidentally delete a measure, for example. Also, I wish there was support for plus phones. Other than that, this is the best drumline notation application in the app store and well worth its price.

Good but export is rough.
Hello, I'd like to point out that the DLA file export is not very easily taken off the phone or sent out. Mp3 or m4a would work a bit better to actually send and listen to. With that aside, the app is pretty great! I can show off any drum cadences I have been working on and it helps explain how beats are formed on the drum by breaking the measures down. Still wish I could easily export it/ send it to friends more easily...

Annoying bug
This app is great, but only when doing single tempo pieces. If I try to do a piece with 2 or more tempos in it (tempo changes) it gets frustrating. Whenever you have any tempo changes and add measures to the piece, all the tempos get screwed up and the playback scrolls incorrectly from what is playing and everything plays at the wrong tempo. The only way to fix this is to go back to where the tempo changes should be and reset them. It'd be great if this issue could be fixed because it would make it a lot easier to have multiple tempos.

Great for writing great music on the go. Favorite part is exporting to sheet music, its all so easy.

Pretty good
I use this app alot in my spare time and is a very cool thing to use when you're coming up with ideas. Some things could be improved, though.
Buzzes could be slightly softer and maybe an option for legato or staccato buzzes. I also have a problem where the bassline starts dragging at faster tempos. Shots could be louder as well. Other things that could be added are tenor rim clicks and even a sixtet tenor option. Otherwise this is a great app and is very useful and fun to play around with. Keep up the good work!

*NEW FEATURES PLEASE*
I would love to see some new features in the next update. Seeing as though this app is updated every six months, it will probably be a while. Nonetheless, I'd like to see an undo button along with an option to import cadences from Snareline Composer and Bassline Composer. Also I'd like an option to change the snare and tenor drum sounds because they currently sound horrible. I cant even use the cymbals because those are atrocious. The bass sounds are phenomenal though so keep those the same! Very good work though and it was money well spent. Lets hope its not 2017 by the time the next update comes out!

Good but...
Please make different versions of the tenor, snare and bass drum sound. The bass drum is too quiet and the tenor sound really tinny especially the Spock drum.

Review
I've been using this app for a few years now and I gotta say that I love it. But I think a few things need to be changed/added. Please make the dynamics more linear. As in, makeing them for noticeably different. Please make flames more tight. Please add a function where there can be just a single snare playing or quad versus having a whole line.

Great app! But....
Great app I love it so much. I love the fact that what ever you write it'll give you an idea of what it's gonna sound like on the drums. The only issue is that you can't export to pdf and that was advertised so once that happens totally a 5 star app

Need Improvement & Auto-Save
Update: After having submitted the last review, I have since stopped using the app as I've found it too complex to execute while thinking creatively on the go. I need 1-e-and-uh subdivision for notes and rests, which simply isn't being delivered in this app that I've paid for. I love the sampled sounds, all except for the tenor drum 4. Wow, that's bad! Also, the tenor score within the app is absolutely terrible. I can't write with the screen turned sideways and attempt to maneuver across the score that way. Extremely ineffective. I'm being specific because I'd love to leave Sibelius altogether and come over to this app for writing cadences. It would be so much easier and so much more worthwhile with a few major improvements. I'd love to see this app shine and carry us through to a new means of writing and being creative. Nick, are you still working on this? It's time for an update! And I'd love to see one! Please do this, for us! :-)
This app could be greatly improved with the ability of auto-save in the background. I had an issue where my phone died during playback and the cadence that I'd entered for the past forty-five minutes has been deleted. Also, possibly a more enhanced method of note entry, where the user has a keypad of noteheads to select from, similar to Sibelius. This would save a lot of time. I'm unable to delete measures, is there a delete key? And anyway to turn off the gears during playback? I find it a little distracting. Great work on this app!

Almost everything is great!
This app is really nice and its great for making cadences! Although I wish there was a better way to make accents. On snare I usually make all the notes pp and the accents ff and they still seem to barely stick out. pp needs to be quieter. And also it would be nice if there was a rim click sound for tenors. I really like the new update but a problem from the last update seems to have carried over where if a make a new cadence and try saving it, it sometimes wont save. But overall great app

Great app!
I love this app immensely. It's very fun and addicting constructing beats and music. I think the app works very well too. It's pretty easy once you get use to it.
I feel there is some stuff missing though. Why isn't there accents?? Why wouldn't there be a function for accents if there's shots and other stuff??? I also wish that the buzzes would sound more smooth too. They are super choppy sounding.
An option for sextets would be very cool as well.

Awesome app!
I love the app and I've had it since it came out! My only complaints are that the quints make it hard to write for six tenor configurations and the buzzes are a lot shorter and choppy than I'd like them to be.
Maybe adding a setting for six tenor configurations and a buzz length controller would be cool!

Amazing App!!!
This app is great! The export feature doesn't work properly. Every time I try to record a cadence and send it, if fails. Also, adding a single tenor drum line for traditional drum lines would be helpful too!

Amazing app, however...
I've been using this app for about a year now, and it's been great, but a great way to make this app better, and to spread the name of this app around, is a share option. A way to turn a song into a video file to send to friends.

Good, but not perfect
This app is definitely worth the money if you have a passion for marching percussion! It could use some work though. Cloud compatibility would be excellent, so I can save and edit compositions across multiple devices. Snare rimshots sound a little lacking, they could use a little more accent. That, vocal cues, and 2 spocks for the tenors would compel me to give this app 5 stars.

Nice
I wasn't expecting anything amazing considering this is just a cheap way to make drum line beats when I have something in my head at the wrong time. This app is almost the complete opposite from what I thought. I can write quality sounding snare licks, sweet tenor breaks, amazing bass splits, and awesome cymbal crashes. Weird Tempo Glitch
When I change the tempo one line scrolls faster and it just all becomes out of line with each line. Please fix soon. You guys have been very attentive with updates and fixes to the app and I would just like to say thanks. Keep up the good work.

This app is everything I've ever wanted! I can write anything for battery--and I can do it anywhere! It's helped me so much as a writer. This app is a must have for any drumline junkie.

Super happy I can compose my own music!
I got my entire drumline to get this app after I showed it to them! They love it! Once you figure it out you can make pretty much any rudiment! Now there is a problem with saving what you make...which is why I gave 4 stars. But I found a way to make sure it always saves.

Dream come true!!!!
Awesome app! Haven't been able to put it down! I wish there a metronome. ( using 'duts' as a metronome would be cool) also I wish we could export our beats as mp3 files and I wish the rimshots were more accented. A little expensive but a must have for marching percussion lovers 😎🎵

Finally every app in one!
I've been wanting the to make an app with the basses, snares, tenors, and cymbals all in one for a while, and they finally made it. The format is really simple and easy to use and I love it. I'm a huge geek over this stuff so I think it's worth the money.

Great
I honestly love the update. The ability to apply tempo changes and a different subdivision for every beat made a great difference. Of course, I'm sure you guys are constantly trying to improve the sound quality, so I won't bug you all about that. Just a suggestion though, a redo button would be great. When I'm applying tempo changes to my tracks, all it takes is a careless mistake of selecting a tempo before hitting the "apply to this measure". Basically, I find myself setting the whole track to one tempo after I spent a crud load of time tweaking everything. Without a redo button, this can really screw me up, but other than that, the app is!

Great overall
As a WGI and DCI drummer I can say with full confidence that this is the best app out there for writing drum beats on a smartphone. Minor improvements could always be made but overall, a great app!

I absolutely love this app!! But there's only one problem, when I write some pretty difficult music, the app lags a lot and some notes aren't played at all and it skips around sometimes, please fix this! It's ruining a brilliant app!

Love it just needs to fix one thing
The repeat measure option crashes the app and erases the song( if it wasn't saved) fix it and this app would be amazing.... Another thing is I wish there was an option to view the parts as an ensemble when writing for easy looking instead of having to flip through each part or pressing play... All in all it is the best composition app on the app store!!!
