Great App
I submitted a review a couple years ago and want to refresh that with more appreciation. I’ve been using this app many years while traveling through various countries. The app is reliable, simple, yet does everything I want to do. I love exporting data at the end of the year to a spreadsheet and my reporting work is nearly all done for me.

Update
The last update just ruined everything. All my numbers, all accounts, everything is a mess now. What I learned a lot time ago - don't update such apps, ever! If it works - just keep going with the older version, it's not worth it

Amazing little app
I had been using this app for 11 years now. Started with spending 1.0 and migrated to this version recently. Simple to use and very good to keep track of your spending.

Latest iOS Update
I love the original Spending app, but now with the iOS update I can no longer open the app. Will the original Spending app be updated to work with iOS 14?

I have used the original Spending app for years. I updated my phone yesterday and now the app doesn’t work. I can’t even open it. I downloaded this app and there’s no way to import my data from my old app. This is frustrating to say the least.

Great App, wish it supports multi-platform.
I love this app been using it for over a year now. Just one improvement suggestion, I frequently change phones (iOS & Android) and I wish this app can be ported to multiple operating systems including Windows and Mac. I now have to use different app on Amdroid as this one was not made for. All an all a seamless experience on all front would really be the next challenge for the app developers. Users are no longer bounded to one ecosystem. Regards.

Great app but..
Have been a fan and have data as far back as 2005.
Easy to use though I had to crack my head in learning the new spending 2 ways.
Had a problem with record transfer from spending to spending 2 ( images) but that was sorted out by developers with an update after some to and from communications.
Now major downside is syncing with Dropbox or other related storage softwares..
I CLOUD is good but for some it’s at the limit and upgrading not an option yet!
Would suggest Dropbox is revisited or others like MEGA or Google DRIVE is looked at.
Another thing to look at is transfer of data into excel. Would be great if it was done at one go instead of separate books.

Search No Longer Working
I’ve used this app for years and have always really liked it, but with a recent update the search function is no longer working with expenses entered starting in 2018. Is there a way for you to correct this? I use notes to categorize my purchases and without the search function I will have to add them all up individually. I’m assuming this is a glitch with a recent update, it worked a few days ago. Please help!

This app is simple, easy to use, and customizable enough to make it functional and adaptable to just about anyone's lifestyle and spending habits. I've attempted to track my spending many times in the past; this is the first time I've been successful for any length of time...three years and counting :)

Excellent App and easy to use
This app is extremely easy and user friendly. I have used this app for a couple of years now and have tried many more in the process but none of them meets the simplicity of how this app works. I use it to track income/expenses across multiple projects. What’s helpful are the reports because it helps create weekly, monthly and also yr end reports. It also has the capability to send reports via email. Additionally the support from the developer has been exceptionally satisfying. I had a few issues with the app on my phone and they worked Through the weekend to get it resolved. Thank you again for your help. Keep up the good work.

Sync with Dropbox does NOT work
Regardless of all good sides of this app, with sync not being working, I can only give it two stars. Sadly I paid for premium version..
Update: sync via Dropbox still doesn’t work. Developer says it can’t fix the problem because Dropbox blocked in China with no way to check what is wrong. I would definitely avoid this app for a time being

Can’t do without
I started using Spending in 2010 after manually tracking my spending for years. This was an easy transition for me and the program had everything I needed. I recently transitioned to Spending2 so I could track on my iPad as well as phone. It was not an easy transition for me due to additional functions that I did not grasp. Each time I contacted support, which was many, I received a quick reply and resolution. I am now adapted to the changes and love the program even more.

Needs serious work
12/19/17: The last update still didn’t fix the lockups I’m having when trying to delete transactions. Doesn’t matter which way I try to delete them. That dialog box (Confirm Delete?) still causes app to lockup. Please fix! Thank you.
May I suggest getting rid of the white dialog box that asks to “Confirm Delete, Move or Copy”? Because that’s where the app freezes or hangs. Lee’s fey and simplify it please. I also just tested the copy and move feature. The only difference is with Copy or Move the app totally freezes and must force close the app to get back to main screen. Thank you again and I hope you can fix this quickly. Once I payoff my credit cards and is confirmed by bank then I delete the items. Currently I cannot do that.
Not sure what happened, but ever since I went from Spending 1 to Spending 2, I am unable to delete line items. When I pick a month’s worth of items, I tap “Select”, then I tap all the items I want to delete. Then when I tape”Delete” on the bottom, the dialog box comes up to confirm “Delete” or “Cancel”. I tap “Delete” and nothing happens, or the screen just freezes. Same with tapping “Cancel”. The only alternative is to minimize by swiping up on iPhone X, then open app again. This takes you back to screen that you want to select items to delete, copy or move. Please fix this problem as the editing features are currently useless and freezes. Thank you.

The version 1.8.1 was working 100% now with 1.8.2-1.8.7 was a lot of bugs and problem they dont have the payer information tab please go back to 1.8.1 was working perfect!

The best of them all, hands down
By far, this app exceeds expectations. Very, very well thought out. Flexible, fast and useful. Monthly spending tables are clean, clear and easy to understand. Budgets are easy to set up. Entering an expense is faster than most- great for multiple entries. Tons of customization here. Also, you can sync with family members very easily. The screens are really easy to read. I'll never use any other app. This is a solid, well made app. The upgrade is worth every penny.

Overall good expense tracker can be improved
Fantastic. Simple to use with almost all features I wanted. loved this app and using is for quite some time now on daily tracking. Pro version is really good with some features like 2 different projects and transfer funds etc.
But pro version can be better with additional important features like;
1. Synchronization with other users (2 or more users ) for expenses tracking. Like family budget and then husband & wife can put their expenses in joint account /project.

It wont sync across diff devices with same apple ID
I paid for in app purchases. I have spending2 on my iphone and 2 ipads. I try to sync through icloud and dropbox but I end up with different data on the three decices although it says it has synced.

Perfect App to keep track of Casino Trips
I've tried countless money/gambling apps to keep track of my casual gambling trips. I probably go to the casino a couple times a month to play craps and roulette. This app is perfect to document my total winnings or losings in a night. I would highly recommend this app, it is very customizable. The free app does everything you need without any annoying popups or adds. The paid app isn't necessary, but I bought it to support the developer. Thanks for a great app!

I've tried a lot on the App Store but this one fits my needs the best. It has two layer categories which is awesome and it works intuitively.

Difficult
Downloaded for my daughter to track her spending and income. Can't figure this app out. Can't add income or expense names. Seemed OK until I tried to use it. I give up. I'll look for another app with help available.
I use Quicken on my PC, I thought this would be easier for my daughter to use on the iPad.

I opt for pro to be capable of searching full history.
I enjoy using this tracking app and I benefit from it. Should there happens to be a glitch then I report it. Every time I get a quick response and developer improve the app in the next update.

Won't Open
I downloaded the app and a banner pops up that says "download from iCloud" the banner will not go away no matter how long I keep the app open. I don't know what it's downloading from the iCloud because I am brand-new to this app and have never used it before now. I left it open for 15 minutes and it's still the same. A real shame because from what I can see this app would be perfect for what I want to add this is the fifth one I've downloaded for personal expense management and the only one I've considered keeping – until that downloading from iCloud banner popped up and refuses to go away.

Application is fine and usefull, especially possibility to export data in free version but too buggy yet.
Recently record don't added after pressing save, especially if you try to add few records in a row. To fix need to restart app.
I hope author fix this in future releases and 'll get 5 for this app

Awesome little app that not many people knows
I have been using the Spending app line since Spending 1. It’s one of the apps that I put on my iPhone’s dock, and it’s one of the app that I used every single day. I made it a habit to jot down every little things that I buy. It’s efficient. It’s great. And best of all, it’s free! I used it so much that I actually bought the in-app purchases to support the developer.
And now, we have Spending 2 which is better and more polished, have more features and I can see how much budget left I have for this month (one of the thing that I like more compared to Spending 1).
Other apps out there might be more flashier, but I like the simplicity of Spending. It makes the app fast on a slow device, and I can use it right away rather than having to wait for superfluous animations. In the end, I want to just add my expenses as fast as possible, and Spending gets the job done. You can’t go wrong with Spending :)
p.s. - as an added bonus, the developer really is fast in responding to my enquiries. I’ve had several times emailed the developer to ask for features and some questions and they very quickly replied. Top notch!

I tried to edit the expense category several time, but the app keep crashing everytime..
I like the old version of "Spending" rather than this one, and i hope you can improve a little bit about the interface of the previous version especially at the bottom bar of " spending, history, search, and setting"

Perfect.
I've tried a dozen budget/money apps and I settle with this one. I love the look, the way it presents data and the way you can configure it to your needs. Also, I was looking for an app that would let you set what day the month starts. Every app out there starts the month on the 1st but what if you really need a different date? Also, you can easily see historical data for each different type of expense, for example, see how much you spend each month for a certain bill. Thanks for your quick tech support response when I had an issue!
