Good for practicing basic strategy

While this app only deals with your initial 2 two cards dealt against the deals one up card, this app is still excellent for practicing basic strategy. There are a lot of options where you can adjust the settings, such as to exclude hard hands to allow for you to focus on soft hands and splitting. I personally this for review of basic strategy.

This app is very good for learning the basics of blackjack strategy. If you're not yet a counter, this is a good program for getting you used to making optimal plays at the table.

Great for learning the basic strategy

Literally first time writing app review. This app does exactly what I want it to do- help me learn the basic blackjack strategy. You don't play full hands, instead you are given deal after deal after deal for you to practice making the first move on. There's an easy to reference strategy card and great statistics for learning where your weakest hands are and then focusing on them. Great job to whoever came up with this- absolutely worth the money.

Used this to train on basic strategy last year. Then stopped playing for 6 months and forgot most of it. Used it for easy refresher in vegas before playing again.

Almost perfect

Great app to teach blackjack strategy. Only two issues: it's too easy to accidentally close the strategy card with an accidental tap and the app hasn't been updated in a long time so the status bar is gigantic. Perfect otherwise.

It's a great for starting to understand basic strategy but it would be nice to be able to play the whole hand not just the initial cards.

Great training aid. Easy to pop in and practice your basic strategy any time. Tracks your performance on different scenarios you will encounter while playing and helps focus on areas where you need to improve. Highly recommended.

Excellent app! This is the one!

I don't normally write reviews, but this is by far the best Blackjack training app in the App Store. Would highly recommend it. Lot of thought has been put into the design/interface and there's a myriad of settings to tweak. I was able to put in 1,500 practice hands in under 3 hours on the way to Vegas. Great app!

Only shows first deal

Anyone who knows basic strategy knows what to do on the initial deal, but when you hit it doesn't show you the next card you get and what to do from then on forward. I downloaded a free app that does this and I'm angry I paid for this one.

Great Practice Tool

I don't write reviews that often but I made an exception in this case. I have played Blackjack for years and always thought I played perfect basic strategy. This app has helped me correct all my flaws.

I like that it's not a 'game'. Meaning there is no bankroll - it's all about what you do with your number vs. the dealer.

I would highly recommend this to players who want to play better blackjack.

Great app for staying sharp

Glad surrender was added with recent update. That was he only drawback on this app, but no more. Clean layout and customizable. If you are looking for apps to help teach you bs or to stay sharp you should have this in your arsenal.

The best Black Jack app out there. Clean, tasteful design, and the developer maintains it with reliable updates, which is great.

It would be nice to have gestures as an option for playing — swipe down to hit, swipe right to stand, double tap to double down, etc.

The now discontinued Blackjack 21 app from MobileAge had that, and it was great. Fun to play that way.

For the love of God

Why ruin a decent app by making me review the damned thing? Every time I'm trying to play and something pops up it makes me that much closer to smashing this phone, driving into the desert and surviving as long as possible on odd desert seeds until I slowly starve to death, only slightly happier than dying the slow death by pop ups. I die a little inside when things pop up and the world is progressively a worse place for it. Decent app though. Used the strategy learned here to make $100 bucks one time.

Way to use. Like that you can adjust the # of decks and rules as well as select only certain scenarios to be dealt. Also like that it mixes in random hands outside of he scenarios you may have chosen. Excellent app.

Excellent aesthetics. Could use some better auto coaching

This app is awesome.

Check the stats and options panel, you can turn off categories in which you have high success.

Doesn't teach counting or chip management, which is fine. Basic strategy is much more important.

Too generic

I was a little disappointed. For one, I expect to see probabilities of each hand in a training app. Did not provide this. It also only lets you train on the first card dealt. What about hands that require you or the dealer to hit again? Also, there is no personalization. As far as I could tell, it just randomly spits out hands instead of targeting my weak areas. There are better free apps out there.

Great training app

This app is brilliant in that it trains for the first move in a blackjack hand, which is the most imperative part of the strategy. If you use this app you will improve your blackjack abilities. I have used the app for about three hours and am happy to give it the five star review it deserves.

Excellent app. The design is flawless, and it has improved my game tremendously. One early advantage is learning you're not as skilled as you thought you were. From there, you only get better.

Great Practice Before a Vegas Trip

I'm never going to break the bank in Las Vegas, but after practicing with this app, I can play with confidence knowing I'm not going to embarrass myself at the tables.

If you're looking to hone your basic blackjack skills, look no further!! Making the right blackjack decisions is imperative. Losing you shirt while you 'learn' blackjack is equivalent to walking up to the table, slapping down a few hundred in chips, then heading for the buffet. This teaching tool is the difference between a blackjack adventure or catastrophe. Use it !!

Great Trainer

I downloaded this to "dust off the cobwebs" before heading to Vegas. It's excellent! I love the look and feel, but it also has great features. The statistics area shows your strengths and weaknesses by type of hand, and it allows you to turn off the hands you've mastered so you can focus on the ones that are tripping you up.

Great App, exactly what I want

Great trainer app. I play regular BJ on another app, but have always been frustrated by the "suggestions," and not being able to review previous plays easily. While this app doesn't focus on playing out hands, it's the perfect complement to a full BJ app. I would highly recommend downloading it.

Nice App, good functionality. This App is benificial to novice and moderate players. There is room for improvement though. Players being able to drill on their most often missed selection would really help. ( ie. soft hands)

I love the ap. I disagree with the recommendation someone had regarding changing the ap to play through each hand. I like the recommendation on working on the tougher items (or even tailoring the training to your weaknesses - like some typing tutor programs do.). Way to go - fun stuff.

I feel lucky writing the 21st review for this app. Works great, good interface. To the developers I would perhaps suggest building the functionality to play through each hand, or to use a shoe or deck rather than each new hand being random, but overall a good app.

I love the repetition, graphics and simplicity of this app.

It would be beneficial if we had history of our mistakes and the ability to focus on them. Also would be fun to know our longest streak of correct answers to try and beat it.
