Introduce a cryptic riddle into your day. Minute Cryptic is the fun, free and easy way to get up to speed with cryptic crossword clues - a puzzle style loved and obsessed over by solvers for over 100 years!
Minute Cryptic started on TikTok and Instagram, with one video a day explaining a new cryptic crossword clue. Our fan-base exploded and kept asking for a game to play, so we made it!
With the Minute Cryptic app, you get one cryptic clue per day, specially crafted for our audience based on their regular feedback on social media. You can dial up or down the difficulty of the clue by asking for a hint or revealing letters, and when you’ve solved it, each clue links to its video explanation.
We’ve found that this has been a great way to introduce hundreds of thousands of people to cryptic crosswords. Our solvers agree:

Small Glitch but Great App
I love this app and game, but a glitch when I opened the app showed yesterday’s clue. I put the answer in for yesterday, expecting it to somehow send me to tomorrow’s. However, when i refreshed the app it said I had a longer streak than I was supposed to. When i hit play again, it showed me the answer for today’s even though i never had to chance to even look at it. Really sad because today was the first day for the &lit clue…

Phenomenal
This is a great introduction to cryptic crosswords. What started as a curiosity from an Instagram page is now my favorite morning ritual. The puzzles are perfectly constructed in a way to help beginners learn the technique and skills to solve them in a bite size form. The app is simple, elegant, and a pleasure to use. Absolutely great.

My favorite puzzle solving game
I’ve been using the website version of this for a couple months now and I’ve went there everyday when I could to try to figure it out. There is a bit of a learning curve, but once you get over that it’s amazing! I love that it doesn’t overwhelm you that much with only one playable puzzle each day. Sometimes I get it in my first try, other times I’m left scratching my head, only to feel a bit dumb in the moment because of how easy it was. Lately the prompts are mostly a stretch, but every time it is I feel like I’ve learned something new! Please keep on going!

I may not know how to read but I love this game
