I have perfect internet connection and the app Leo's saying due to internet connection issue that app can't sign in. 👎🏾

The safe walks, text messaging to police dispatch, anonymous tips, repairs needed submissions, and the high lighting campus emergency response procedures and victim services... Are a great way to change the way campus police connect with their community. It invites the community to take a very active role in personal safety and making a contribution to community safety.

Because it was forced on me

Overall the app has a GREAT idea and the start of something super comforting and safe for campuses, workplaces and communities. My campus added a little info about being a part of it and making campus safe in an email. I downloaded it while at home. Played around, texted my husband, alerted him that I wasn't ok just to see what he sees on his end, etc. It was AWESOME! Tonight was the first time ACTUALLY using it. I had to walk from the heart of campus (library...finals, yay!) all the way to the outskirts of campus to my designated parking lot. It identified my parking lot, but there was no way to select it. It wouldn't allow me to select the building closest to my parking lot either. I had to choose the tennis courts which was a little closer to the library than my car. I didn't think it was a big deal since my husband could still see me walking and we were texting. But once the app acknowledges that you have arrived to your destination it pops a screen up and says "You've reached your destination. Do you want to let your friends know you're safe?" Well, no because I technically had not made it safely to my vehicle. There was no way to exit that prompt screen and then it automatically ended the Safe Walk.

I would like to be able to touch any random spot around campus (like roughly the area I parked in Lot 12) or even simply Lot 12 would be acceptable. But I'm forced to pick a false destination and I am highly disappointed that a "safety app" would force end without allowing the person walking to determine that they are safe. In addition, I am aware that I can walk without a destination, but that leaves all parties somewhat in the dark of where I am going. And when I DO arrive safely, I can only choose to "end" the safety walk. I'm not given the option to tell my husband or "friends" that I arrived safely through the app.

And lastly, when texting, symbols create a hodge podge of random characters that make reading messages difficult.

I take this app seriously and I really love the idea...but there are some upgrades that I would like to see before I depend on the app like I had hoped I could. I would rather call my husband at 4am while walking than use the Live Safe app right now. I look forward to this app making great strides, but for now I am disappointed. 😕

My workplace has asked all employees to download this app and use it to communicate about emergencies and such since it is such a big building. However, when I try to sign up or register, I put in my phone number, receive the texted code, input the code, and it takes me right back to the screen where I input my phone number.

I'm sure I would love this app if I could actually use it. Please fix the registration bug.

This app is wonderful aside from the process of making a report with video or picture. I just tried to send a message requesting a walk through from our security because of an intimidating large man who was starring me down first in our store then outside. I did not want to take his picture first for fear that he would approach me so I wrote in his description and the incident first. However when I tried to take his picture after writing the description, as he came back into our store, the app would not allow it.

I feel it is extremely important to have the option to take a video or picture before or after writing a description for our safety and discretion. Please fix this glitch!

Good way to connect clearly with authorities

Saw on the national news & I am in law enforcement and wanted to check it out but I give up. Disappointing that this app got that exposure and will not work. 😏

The app will not let you sign in. No option to create a profile. Will not sign in through Facebook. Cannot get past the sign in page.

App requires personal information right away but does not work right. I'm not going to give my phone number to some company I have never heard of and the email signup option still - hours later- has not sent a confirmation email.

Also the app interrupted audio playback for no reason and is WAY larger than it needs to be so that it can play occluded video in the background of a splash page.

Whenever I try to activate LiveSafe I get a message saying they're having problems and to check back in a little while. It's been two days, that's more than a little while. It happens if I try Facebook or my mobile number.

I think this app is exactly how it should be, straight and to the point. There aren't a lot of options which minimizes the risk of fumbling with buttons if someone really was in danger. I also like how it gives some resources like what to do in the case of an active shooter or a fire.

This is dependent on your friends to monitor your movements and make reports to police. Also it DRAINS your battery if you activate "SafeWalk". Get something else

A friend tried to use it for a Safe Walk, with me looking out for them. The app showed them being about a mile away from where they actually were. It indicated that they were standing still when they continued to walk at a steady pace. Half of the messages sent back and forth were never received by either party. Seems slightly more accurate with a wi-fi connection, but it is unlikely that this is available in most places you might be walking. Overall, useless!

Amazing App. Has all the bells & whistles anyone in ES could ever ask for. Very user friendly and the support is amazing.

Finally a great way to stay safe and report issues!

Students obviously know what’s happening on campus. I’m happy our police are finally acknowledging that. The anonymous chats are great - we don’t want to always be associated with the info we give.

I’m an RA. The students say they really like it. Most haven’t sent in tips, but they use SafeWalk and know to go to the app for safety/counseling resources. I wish we could include some non-safety stuff in the app, but it’s great.

Our campus did a lot of research and our SGA chose Livesafe. We love it!

Though this app is a convenient way to stay safe it is not very precise in location, on the app, you can see that the person is located on your campus but doesn't say exactly where. This could be an issue on larger campuses if you can only tell your friends approximate location, you will not know if they did not make it to their location & in this case where they actually stopped walking. Also, the app should have available an option to locate the campuses shuttle buses so students are not alone or waiting forever for the shuttle buses.

Signup was easy and put me in direct contact with my school police. Seconds after an issue was reported. Thanks!

I am in high school and would love to have this app because I walk home all the time. I can't use it because I would have to choose a college. I think it would be a great idea to add high schools to this app so high schoolers can use it also if wanted. Please think about this idea. I would love to use the app if only ALL high schools where added.

I'm an MBA student and I have always felt very safe on campus but this is a great idea for prevention. Love this school!! Good job!!

The app said it would not actively track me and it used 52% of my battery according to usage. Poor wording. App is great otherwise

Now that we’re all finally paying attention to sexual assault issues, our school brought this app to campus. Campus feels safer. I only used it once, but it works great. SafeWalk rocks!

Use the SafeWalk feature all the time with friends and parents. Feel safer having this on my phone.

It is great that my campus PD brought this app to our school.

I love that I can use SafeWalk to give my girlfriend a virtual walk home. That way we can both feel safe as she walks home.

Our animal control director has not even heard of this app. So, the agency responsible for responding to the reports has no idea the app exits. Just where are my reports going?? Do not rely on this app. Call local authorities yourself. There needs to also be a discrete field for address input instead of one big text field for all. Can't attach multiple photos to one incident. Can't edit or add on to a report. No follow ups on reports made. Questions posed through the app go unanswered.

Remember to allow all notifications & it will keep u connected to the DPS. Great!

Overall good app haven't seen any needs for updates to fixes glitches since its a fairly new app. I like that you can report anonymously and can add audio or video to your report its it happening live. NICE!!!

Ok so I just want to say how awesome this app is right of the bat. I work as a student dispatcher along side the police dispatchers for my university so I see how this system works from the police's point of view, genius, but I never expected to actually have use it myself. This afternoon as I was studying I witnessed concerning suspicious activity in one of my university buildings. I was in a position where I could not make a phone call due to the proximity of the incident to me. With this app I was able to literally text 9-1-1 and have the dispatcher send police to my phones location without anyone suspecting anything. I was able to remain anonymous as well which is something that makes it a lot easier to actually decide to use this system. Within 5 minutes there were officers walking all around me and I was able to keep my nose buried in my book. As they were searching for this person who had gotten up and walked away they were able to relay questions to me over that chat feature about certain aspects of the crime and descriptions of the subject. I was able to tell them in real time where he was. They made contact and immediately sent me a message saying so. Such a great app!

Kept force closing on me...what if I was in an emergency and this happened?

Keeps crashing every time I open it. A lot of good this does when it doesn't work.

It's a great app don't get me wrong but the app crashes so often that it is annoying.

So easy to use! It's heartbreaking seeing a neighbors cat or dog suffering in a situation of chronic neglect -or worst yet witnessing severe violent abuse. Now there's a way to help those animals from suffering!

This app has no information and is a waste of time. I uninstalled it.

This app has potential to be great. But the first thing you need to do is select a school that you want to notify and if your school is not on the 50 or so listed than it's worthless. Need to add more relevant schools for users' locations!!

This app is vital to the safety of our students and faculty. Livesafe allows us to report crime rapidly using social media. Instead of uselessly posting to FB or tweeting, students can have a meaningful and positive impact on our community using this app. It allows students to report crime anonymously, which is key in encouraging more civil responsibility on our campus. Letting us send video and photos straight to campus police is an added bonus. I only wish our university had adopted this app sooner; maybe the recent string of cell phone thefts could have been prevented. With Livesafe at my fingertips, I definitely feel safer on campus, and I worry less about my students too.

easy to use in multiple situations when speaking aloud might not be preferable. the variety of reporting instances make the app very versatile and is simple enough that anyone can use it. great idea.

This app will bring peace of mind not just to students but to parents and grandparents. I am the parent of children who graduated from Colombine High School and grandparent to a Blacksburg survivor. The grief of school tragedies lasts a lifetime; to use technology to prevent or discourage this senseless tragedies has no downside. The availability of an instant non-verbal connection to authorities and piers is priceless. Although evil cannot be eliminated, any innovation to deter it I welcome heartedly. Kudos to Lifesafe, they are providing an amazing service to the student community, the teachers and the parents.

This App is really great. It is easy to use and makes me feel more safe especially when I am alone. I highly recommend it!

Alert your contacts is I guess one of the most important feature that I like in this app. One of the first things that I would like to do if I see any life threatening activity in the campus is to make sure all my friends know about it and live safe performs this job pretty neatly.

I saw a story about the LiveSafe app on a news station with an interview with the Virginia Tech shooting victim who created it and immediately knew it was an app I needed on my iPhone.

The LiveSafe app uses GPS to locate you, so the police wouldn't have to rely on students remembering to be aware of their location. This app looks very helpful because you can call the campus police number right from the app. This would help many students who can't remember the number or don't store it in their phone contacts like they are encouraged to.

We also get monthly crime alert emails from the campus police, but most students don't even open these emails when they see them in their college email inbox. They would be more likely to look at the crime alerts on a campus safety map (viewed on the app) than an email full of dry statistics.

LiveSafe's app is a necessary addition to any university! It would provide busy students with a way to keep their community safe in a format that convenient for them and familiar to them.

This is one of the most innovative services I have ever seen! The ability to share information non-verbally, easily, and without risk will greatly increase the amount of tips shared with law enforcement and campus police. Students will definitely engage with the service and I hope that this will help deter violence on campus.

The location tracking in distress and smart 911 capabilities are very compelling and useful features as well !!
