Hopeless loops.

Completely baffling. Doesn’t seem to integrate to any other Amazon product. Doesn’t accept the same credit card and mailing address that other Amazon properties use.
It’s appears the app is just a series of never-ending loops of questions that error out every time no matter what you do.

Needs camera permission but doesn’t request it

Installed and logged in fine but when it goes to scan my palm, it needs camera access. But when it links to the settings, there is no camera permission request to grant. So it’s useless as I can’t scan my palm.

Credit Card Declined

Used the Amazon One app in-store at Whole Foods yesterday (Dec. 27, 2025). Setup the app prior to my visit and scanned both palms and linked my default credit card.
At a Whole Foods self-checkout register, I scanned my purchase items and then scanned my palm successfully which then linked my Amazon Prime account. However, my credit card was declined. A manager tried to assist but couldn’t figure it out. I ended up needing to tap my physical credit card (successfully) which was the same exact card that was declined by Amazon One.
Manager suggested using a manned-register next time as they get more information on the reasons why cards are being declined. Will give that a shot next time.
So far, Amazon One is a nice concept but doesn’t work like it was designed to work. I did call my credit card company to see if there was any reason for my card being declined and they said did not decline my card and that the issue must be with the Amazon One app.

Works great, if you follow the directions-locations need to be updated

The program works great, if you read and follow all of the instructions in the app. One plus would be a short video or instructions on how far to hold your palm from the One device in the store, the first time took a bit.
Knocked off two stars because they do not appear to be keeping the locations list in the app up to date, it doesn’t list a While Foods near us that has been there for years (Amazon says all Whole Foods have Amazon One), and still has the Federal Way, WA Amazon Fresh listed, but it permanently closed more than two and a half months ago. Bad location info is worth two stars to me, since outside of registration, the location finder is the most important.

Buggy

Initially signed up to use my credit card in store with no problem, but I need the app to link it to my Prime account. The app keeps sending me in circles telling me I have an account, asking me to verify my account, asking me to scan my palm, telling me I have an account, asking me to verify my account, asking me to scan my palm, telling me I have an account…

Don’t even bother.

Your account won’t be active unless you visit one of their stores and then you still have to have your card on you. So stupid. They also delete your profile after 45 days. Worthless waste of time and setup.

Love using Amazon One at Whole Foods

It’s really easy and quick to pay for my produce. I haven’t had any issues with it.
The best part is that I can apply my Amazon prime loyalty discount and pay with just one palm swipe instead of having to dig out my phone and find the QR code to scan.

Poorly designed UI

You can’t add your credit card on an iPhone if your expiration date is in December, because the option is placed off the touchable area of the bottom of the screen.

Amazon One bans Amazon Prime Store Card

Who thought this through and went, “You know what’s a great idea?! Let’s accept any credit card but our own Amazon Prime Store Card! Why? Because reasons…”
This is what happens when Amazon keeps hiring leet code programmers. Solve your little puzzles and get stumped when having to build actual software. LOL.

C’mon Amazon

Tried to use this new & interesting tech only to find a glitch in logging into my account the first time. You say enter a phone # to receive a “one time” code, but it never comes. I did it 2X and made sure my phone # is correct… the code never came.

App gets stuck on enrolling

I’m already signed up for Amazon one with my palm, I just need to link my Amazon prime account. (So, I can pay with my palm, but it doesn’t automatically give me to Amazon prime discounts). I downloaded this app to help associate my phone number with my Amazon one account, but part way through the wizard, (where I type my phone number), it literally gets stuck. I can cancel, and it cancels right away, but does not advance to the next screen after I type my phone number and hit continue. I will try again in a week, hoping this error is fixed. Thank you!

nOTP…? User Error

Must like others, not receiving the OTP. Onve Amazon fixes, will update review.
Update: The problem everyone is having with the app not sending the OTP is that they are using “Sign In” thinking they can just sign in with their Amazon password. First time users STILL need to click the “Sign Up” button (NOT Sign In). You will then log in with your Amazon ID and password that links your Amazon account to Amazon One. You will then receive the OTP and be able to proceed with sign up. I made the mistake (easy to do because it’s not intuitive) of trying to log in with my Amazon ID the first time (like you do with Google services) but this is not show Amazon works apparently. You first have to sign up even though you’re going to use your existing Amazon ID and password. Hopefully this helps some people.

Cannot sign up

Like others have reported, I don’t get the text message with the OTP password so can’t sign up. This is not confidence building for an app that’s supposed to be the latest in biometric security….

Can’t complete registration

Like others have said, my phone is not receiving the one-time password (OTP) needed to login to the app. And there’s no help feature for this either. You’re just stuck on the OTP enter page and nothing happens. So for now it is useless.

Pointless

I signed up, I loaded my credit card, I went to the store to activate the thing as instructed, and guess what I had to have my credit card with me. How stupid is that? It’s a self-defeating thing, why do I need this palm reading trick, if I’m also required to carry my credit card? It’s just dumb.
When I tried to use it, the reader said one time credit card update required. Well fan freaking tastic , I don’t have my credit card because I planned on using my palm, so I guess I have to use Apple Pay on my phone.
Gimmick. Stupid. Pointless. Worthless.

Extremely difficult to set up

Took many multiple attempts to get palm images for both hands completed. He gives you a green square which makes you believe it will be the right photo, and then rejects. Very difficult to be able to hold your power out hold your phone and press the camera button. Needs to be redesigned and much more user-friendly.almost gave up.

Does not work, unfortunately

Unfortunately, it takes me in an infinite loop of put in your phone number and then once I’ve done so it says to use the actual palm device at the store. I use the palm device at the store. Then the palm device asks me to put in my phone number. I get the confirmation code via text message and it’s just a cycle that repeats and repeats and repeats and repeats and never ends and it never actually registers me. It’s poor app design, unfortunately. I worked with customer service at my local Whole Foods, who work with me for 30 minutes and threw their hands up and had no clue what to do next. Seems like this app is very beta test stage still. Hopefully they will get it ironed out soon.

Poorly designed on boarding process for this app

Whoever designed this app, and the Palm scanning process, did not think about the fact that they are asking someone to take a picture while one hand is being held in front of the camera, the other hand is holding the phone, and what thirdhand is supposed to be pressing the shutter button? the location of the shutter button is not convenient for many users hands.
This was not well thought out and not in line with so many of the well produced processes that Amazon creates.

Photo ID

Seems like a great feature, especially if it is extended to airports and other venues. But the app will not allow me to take a photo after uploading the id. Once it is fixed, may turn out to be a super feature/app.
