Description

This app is designed to be used with the Scream Game from Funko Games. This cooperative board game is played in real time. It's a fun, tense and fast-paced experience! Work together to play cards as fast as you can. Rush to draw and trade for the cards you need to complete your scene. If you complete all the scenes before time runs out, and before any player is killed, you all win! If not, Ghost Face gets you and you all lose!

Ghost Face (voiced by Roger L. Jackson) will call you using this app to taunt, threaten, or stalk players during the game as described in the instructions and how to play video. Make sure to keep working together and prevent players from becoming Ghost Face's next victim!

Need more of a challenge? Select Hard Mode in the Settings and Ghost Face calls more often and you have less time to win.

The game defaults to Moderate language, but you may choose Strong language for more graphic and intense narration from Ghost Face.

It doesnt work.?

The game does not work. Whenever i press new game it says to make sure i have volume and no silent mode and my volume was all the way up and i wasnt on silent mode anyway? I waited for about 20 minutes and nothing happened. It stayed on that screen for forever. Trash. (Yes i bought the actual board game. so don't call me dumb)

Doesn’t work after the first game

While I like this game a lot. The app doesn’t work after your first game. If you hit “play again” it’ll start the game with the same people but then we never get him to call again. We have to start all over every game which is slightly annoying.

Broken

They stopped updating it. It has broken links and you can't actually play. It starts the game on the game over screen. We downloaded on multiple phones with the same issue. Disappointing!!!

This game is too fast

When me and 3 other players played this game the ghost face would call and stalk the person when the player would just finish there scene and cards. Then the ghost face would say give me 3 keys or you die. It only gave us 15 seconds to do that. So we would automatically lose. We kept trying but there was no point because it kept happening. Please make this app more balanced. Thank you

Poor functionality

If you decide to end a game in progress, all players get deleted. The next time you try to start the game, it takes you back to the Home Screen and deletes all the players again. The game cannot be played without this app, and is a total ripoff.

Buffering

Every other game we play if we do not reset the app entirely it buffers and plays the screen animation but ghost face will not call us the entire game but has no indication that it is broken. Once you reset it is fine and is otherwise a great game.

Fun game, couple issues

This game is a hit with all my friends and my teen kids. The game is very fast paced and exciting. We love the all the interactions. Could easily be a 5 star game with some tweaks.

The issues - on hard mode Ghostface doesn’t call at all. This has happened 3 of the 4 times we’ve played on that mode.

There are four locations but Ghostface only interacts with two of them. It would be nice if all four locations were included in the game play beyond finishing the scene card.

The voice is very quiet at times. We play connected to a Bluetooth speaker to hear better.

The “how to play” video won’t play but it’s easy to find one on YouTube.

My 3 friends and I did up to hard mode up to 8 players with all the locations. We played for 3 hours and we never died.I recommend adding more threat prompts like, “switch hands to the players to your left” or “switch locations to the person to your right”.

Expansion packs would be sick to.

what’s your favorite scary movie?

I think this game is super fun, I will say I had four friends playing and at first even on normal it was a little tricky when ghost face calls specific people and you have to get them items, so we kept losing at first. Finally we figured it out and we started winning but it’s still a very fast paced game and you have to really work together. I like the app concept and it definitely keeps you on your toes!

This game is so addicting all of my family members can’t get enough! The only issue I’m having is in hard mode it the app seems to glitch and ghost face never calls. We’ve kind of master normal mode so we’re looking for more of

Great but please make this work

So I was in a summit flip phone and I saw this on the google play store so I put in my password and my email address and it said compatible then once I was done it said not compatible. It would have been really cool on a summit flip phone because it could link to scream 1996

Minor issues

only thing that needs fixing is that in the board game there are 4 locations and on the app “scream” only says 2 it’s missing the “pool hall” and “hospital” and it would be cool if when you finish the game it says your time, but other than that the game is perfect!

Can’t watch the video

When I got in the app I went to watch the video but when it took me to the website it wouldn’t let me watch. I don’t know what’s wrong with it but I tried a few times. Besides that it’s an awesome game. Would recommend! ❤️

😱 I’ve played 3-4 times it’s fun I jump and scream every time ghost calls (I’m just scary like that lol) I like it cuz I’m a big fan of the movies but it could be organized better tho …. Give it a try tho the $20 was worth it for a few times of play

Does anyone know why it’s messing with my home screen?

Hi! So, five star review because I genuinely enjoy this game! It’s super fun to play with friends, and a perfect addition to any Halloween party! However, I do have a question and/or concern.

Does anyone else have the problem of the game messing with the home screen of your phone? When I tilt my phone sideways and don’t open the lockscreen, eventually it will change the clock and the whole background red and black, and will use pictures from your camera roll to use as a background, though its all red and black, barely visible unless you squint.

I found this out by accident, when I was simply vibing and soon saw Ghost Face was starring backs at me, again barely visible on screen. We tried it with my friend who also has the apps, and the same thing happens. Does anyone else have this problem, and can anyone explain if this is normal?

Let us keep our names and photos

Each time we want to play we have to add names and photos. So each and every time we win or loose we have to do it again and again. As a result it gets too long and we prefer another game. I sent the game back to Amazon. I’ll buy again when you Il add such a simple basic option.

Doesn’t save names

Until they add a function to save the names you enter this app basically ruins the game. If you’re playing at a large table and you have to re-enter everyone’s name every time you want to play people tend to lose focus and not want to play anymore.

Big design flaw

This game is so much fun *and* it makes zero sense that the app doesn’t retain your players names. Considering how quickly the game goes, it’s a deterrent to guests when they have to wait for you to input their names every single game. I just want to hit “play again” and have the option to edit the players I have already inputted. It’s a very basic functionality that isn’t available.

Lovely game

I was at a bookstore and randomly saw this, as a scream fan I was all for it! It is so quickly paced your able to get through around 4 rounds within 1 hour determining how long each round is, it’s so difficult on the normal mode though so we tweaked it to make it a little easier, we played 8 and won 2 so it is overall great and everyone loved it accept my competitive sister PS: she hates losing. Haha I definitely recommend it though!

Please add like a “favorites” tab where you can save the names of you party so we don’t have to input the names each time. It would be great that you could increase (or even let the players select) the time between calls. With 8 players it was super stressful to meet Ghostface’s demands if the one that’s called just completed their scene and cannot get more than 1 turn before he calls back.

Needs Improvement

I absolutely LOVE this game! Ghostface is my favorite, I literally have a tattoo of him. My complaint is that the hard mode isn’t hard & the strong language could be stronger. I would live more cursing and gore. And the hard mode DEFINITELY needs to be harder, it’s not challenging enough. Also, an update on Ghostfaces phrases would be awesome. I’ve memorized them all lol. Other than that, I love it.

Game is 5 stars. The App could be better

The first time you use the app it’s great! You enter each player’s name and take their pic and you’re all set! The problem is when you play multiple times. Instead of saving all the player’s names and pics, you have to re-enter all that information all over again and it’s really annoying especially with higher player counts. Hopefully this could be updated in the future.

Great game but a pain to set up

We had a blast playing this game, but why do I have to enter the players every time! Takes too long and got real annoying! We probably played 25 rounds and I had to keep putting in the players EVERY SINGLE TIME! Fix that and you have a 5 star game!

The setup time could be cut down substantially with an added save feature. Not having it adds frustrating repeated setup on a digital device that could bypass it, and unnecessary friction to replay.

Huge disappointment

This game COULD be fun except even on the easy mode it’s impossible to get in more than a few turns before Ghostface calls. This results in constantly having to answer and deal with his “demands”, which are impossible to meet because he calls back about 20 seconds later to see if you’ve completed them yet, then calls again 20 seconds later to make more… it’s too much that it goes beyond difficult and just becomes foolish and frustrating. I would like to see how other people who left positive reviews are even playing this game, maybe we are missing something because we just gave up after three or four attempts. Also others are right: it’s very annoying that with such a short gameplay the app makes you re-enter every players name each time you start a new game.

The game requires you to be off silent mode, but my silent mode is always on because the switch is broken, therefore I am not allowed to play the game at all. Get rid of this feature

Game is great! App needs work

This game is really fun once you get into a groove, though you will need a group of people who is willing to pay attention to the game while it’s going. If you’ve got people who aren’t very invested, you’ll lose quickly.

My main reason for the 3-star rating is the app. While it generally works well, we’ve encountered some issues where Ghostface calls a player and threatens to call back asking for 3x of a specific card, but then it never happens. I’m guessing this is not an intentional game mechanic.

Also, as others have mentioned there is no way to save the player names/photos from one game to the next. It’s really frustrating when you’re playing with the same group, but instead of jumping into another game you have to go through the trouble of typing out everyone’s name before you start a new game.

Would love for the devs to show the app some more love - if so I’ll happily update my rating. For now, I’d say purchase the game with caution knowing that it’s not in an optimal state.

Love the game, need to save players

The game itself gets a full 5 stars - so much fun and we love the teamwork aspect! I only wish we wouldn’t have to type in players names every time. If I could save the players from game to game and just have the opportunity to make edits before a new game is started, it would save a lot of time.

Great Game, App Needs Some Work (SAVE Names)

The game is really good, my kids and I love it. The different playing modes and difficulty are great! I would give it 5 stars if you could only save your players or at least continue with the same player (and photo) as before. As it is today (10/17/2023) when you win or lose the game, you have to enter all the players again, you can’t continue with the same player list. Still, overall I recommend the game and App.

Fun game, app needs more

Loved the game, very thematic. Suggestions for the app: Normal mode felt more like a medium setting. It definitely needs an Easy mode for slower players. Also, we really did not like having to enter names every single game. Needs to at least save the previous entries. Would give 5 stars after that update.

Fun game, set up in app needs work

The game itself is really fun, the only downside is the actual app. There should be an option to repeat the game with the settings from the last session repeated. It’s tiresome to have to type in each person’s name and put in a photo again and again, especially when multiple rounds are played in a row. If that were fixed, it would be a 5 star game.

Great Game, needs some smoothing

I got this game for my birthday. As a huge gaming family, we’ve had a great time! It is super easy to learn and fast paced, so you can play several rounds quickly!

I love the game pieces, the figurine is super detailed and all the cards look great. The knife piece to symbolize turn is super cool, but a little cumbersome and often got ignored as the game went on.

My main critique comes within the app. The design is super cool, and there are no issues when playing the game, but the set up takes the longest time.

There is a button to play again, but it takes you back to the beginning where you must write in all the players again, as well as check off a number of settings to begin the next game. The ability to save settings, as well as previous players, would bring this game back up to the five stars it deserves!

Incredible game, and I’d definitely recommend it to anyone who enjoy games like Space Team, as it is of a similar vein! Also obviously to any scream fans!

Needs some work

First, there needs to be a way of playing again without having to enter all of the names all over. That is a big issue when you have a lot of players. Second, there is a point in the narration where Ghost Face demands to be shown three phones and he calls back before we can even all get a turn. This is a consistent issue every time we play. And it’s an instant lose situation. Makes the game unplayable. Great idea but please fix!

Really fun game, its tense and fast pace. I wish there was a whodunit element which would mirror the movies well, and add a nice wrinkle to the game play adding pause to if you could be helping the killer

Great game! App could use some work.

Overall this was a great family game. The instruction video could use some work. The only way to learn how to play is to read the instructions. By the time you are done reading them you question if you still want to play as it feels overwhelming. I would recommend a “repeat game” option so you don’t have to keep re-entering everyone’s name. Also, maybe a mode between normal and hardcore. Great game idea. Some fine tuning is all that’s needed.
