Ok, gets worse as you play

I liked this game at first but as I’ve played, I’ve stopped getting “unique tiles” both while playing a level and when using coins to open boxes. Now when I open boxes, I only get coins, but it’s 45k coins to open a blue box and you only get 5k from the box, or 5k for the other box and you only get 500 coins. There isn’t really an incentive to keep playing anymore.

It’s a fun game. The puzzles are a lot of fun, but even after paying for the no ads pack, there are still so many ads. Half the features you click on are actually hidden ad opportunities. You’ve got a really good game here, why ruin it with this much over-monetization. Just let me buy the game and play it.

Cute game but the ads are making me stop playing

Absolutely fun game, reminds me of Carcassonne. However, the ads are horrible. There is no ability to pay to bypass the ads and every ad is almost a minute long. In the span of 10 minutes I had to watch over six ads. That’s six minutes of ads and only four minutes of playtime. I absolutely hate when I find a fun game that I enjoy only for it to be riddled with ads. I get devs have to make money but this is legit the worst. It’s a good and beautifully built game but lessen the ads. I’m currently on level 79. So when I say it’s enjoyable, I mean it. But I cannot stand the ads anymore.

my favorite game but SO many ads

I love this game so much that I am 150+ levels in, but even after purchasing the “No Ads” pass, it is virtually impossible to pass a single level past 30 without watching at least 3 ads to continue your progress. Honestly, it’s kind of disappointing such a fun game has almost been ruined for me by the over implication on CONSTANT advertisement. I’d recommend the game more if there was an actual resolution to this, because the “No Ads” pass just barely allows the game to be playable without 100,000 pop up ads every 3 seconds.

Beautiful and calming, but constantly interrupted

This game is beautiful. The art, the sound, the pacing - it’s calm, meditative, and genuinely transporting. It feels like stepping into a quiet world that invites you to slow down and just exist in it for a while. From a pure design and atmosphere standpoint, it’s really special. That’s why it’s so frustrating that the experience is undermined by its own monetization.

I understand that games cost money to make and maintain. Developers need to be paid, and monetization is part of the reality of mobile games today. I don’t fault that.

What’s disappointing is how much the monetization interrupts what is otherwise such a peaceful, immersive experience. The limited number of plays and frequent ads break the sense of calm and pull you out of the world just as you’re settling into it. This feels like a game that could truly shine as a more open, creative, world-building experience, but the puzzle structure and play caps work against that potential.

As someone who lives with PTSD, this game actually does something rare — it helps calm the mind and gently capture the imagination. That’s why the interruptions stand out so strongly. They feel at odds with the atmosphere the game is so good at creating. There’s an amazing game here. I just wish the business model didn’t sabotage what could otherwise be something truly special.

Fun game but…

So I love this game it’s so fun to play. I really enjoy it and building my little towns each level. However I bought the “ad free pack” and yet every other tile play the games making you watch ads for more tiles and watch ads for special tiles. And it’s so freaking annoying. I mean it’s literally ever few tiles you put down. So what’s the point of spending my money if it’s still constant freaking ads??

Used to be perfect now kinda mid tier

I’ve been playing this game for awhile as I love games like this. It’s a great way to spend time casually and there would be options to unlock new unique tiles by watching ads or buying from the chest as well as the super packs.

For a few weeks now the game has constant pop ups to try to sell the game packs so often that it’s off putting now. I get having occasional pop ups but it’s increased significantly. And now the chests only give coins. I’ve spent the 45k coins for the 10 chest unlocks to only get 5k and no unique tiles. I get it being a form of gatcha set up but it’s now basically become impossible to get new tiles without paying for a super pack which was part of why I loved this game so much that you could watch ads when one randomly became available in the tile queue and you could opt to watch the ad for the unlock or buy with gems.

This game was perfect up until the point of it being impossible to get new unlocks without paying $10 for a super pack. I’d watch ads or even potentially smaller packs for unique tiles. But a solid month or so of not even unlocking new tile is a bit disappointing especially spending the coins on the multi chest pack multiple times.

Please Never Change

I looooove this game so much. It’s perfect. It’s so calming and chill. I love everything about how it works from tile placement, to ads for receiving special tiles rather than charge an absurd dollar amount. I adore you all for making this game. One suggestion! (If this exists in later levels ignore this lol) I’d love to see a fantasy theme! Purple mountains! Pink fields! Unicorns! Mermaids! Castles! Dragons! Or even a sci-fi theme with aliens and moon bases etc!

The number of malicious hosts my router has had to block whenever I played this game is absurd. I’m shock Apple allows this. Although I’m not surprised by the way the ads are constantly trying to open my browser. My phone is always running hot when playing this game but never for any other game. Not sure what’s going on with this game but the recent update deleted by ad free purchase. And I can’t restore it…It’s a fun game but I can’t be asked to play it with ads every five seconds, especially after I paid to have them gone.

Honestly? The game is so good, but the amount of ads is insane. Some ads aren’t quick either, I’ve had a minute long ad before on this game. Some minor glitches in the mini games where you get the boat to save someone, but that’s fine. It’s just the ads! I understand a few ads here and there but every few minutes you get 2-3 ads. Amazing game

Love the simplicity and fun of this game. It is quite addictive, only issue is even after paying $5 you still have tons of ads if you want any bonuses in the game. That was not worth purchasing since it really didn’t change the game play whatsoever and I still have to watch tons of ads. Otherwise fun game!

One additional feature would make this game perfect.

I have literally lost track of time on multiple occasions playing this because of how fun and engaging it is.

The only thing it’s missing is a sandbox level on each island that doesn’t limit tiles and allows you to build near endlessly.

I love that you can go back to completed levels and continue building, but I feel forced into putting tiles in places I don’t necessarily want to, just so I can get more tiles to continue building.

Saves would be cool too, but that matters less than a free build feature.

Fantastic and addictive, clever game, but…

I enjoy this game so much, its simple desire to get you to match tile edges to create combos and build cities is incredible.

Unfortunately, even after I bought the ad-free pack, the game is CONSTANTLY trying to upsell you on more packs and MTX, two or three in a row right off the bat is absolutely absurd. There are plenty of prompts where it’ll play an ad and you won’t realize you’ve done it until it’s too late… even AFTER you’ve BOUGHT the AD-FREE pack! The MTX in this game is absolutely insane, I wish it would just let you play it AS a game without all the annoying upsells.

Enjoyable, but frustrating

The game itself is relaxing and fun, and I like the challenge but flexibility presented in the random tiles. My biggest complaint is the games OWN ads being too annoying and pop up too frequently! I purchased the No Ads pack, and yet multiple times between and even DURING levels, I will get pop-ups. The game promotes things like a starter pack, a mayor pack (???) and several other things. Even without other ads to interrupt gameplay, its OWN ads ruin the flow. And I don’t just mean ‘you’ve run out of tiles, do you want to buy a pack?’ No, this game will just throw pop-ups in when you’re in the middle of a level, on multiple occasions. Place a tile? Pop-up ad for a pack. Place another tile? Yep, another ad. A few more tiles? Look, here’s a landmark/unique tile! Watch an ad to get it! Then we’ll give you more ads! Like…. We get it. You want money, but maybe be a little less annoying about it? Have a pop-up ad at the start of the level, and maybe after a level, but not MULTIPLE TIMES in the middle! Let people actually play your game, especially when they’ve already given you the money to NOT have ads! 😤😒

I love the game play of this game. I loved it so much that I bought the no ads package. And yet still, every 3-4 turns an ad pops up over the game play to get me to buy some package from their store. Even if you pay for the ad free version (like I did) you will still be watching ads and getting these people ad money. The completion goal for the each level gets so incredibly high that you have to watch ads to get more tiles or pay for power ups regardless. I'm sick of people like you. Obsessed but

I’m obsessed with this game but put your phone in airplane mode or you’ll barely place 2 tiles before getting bombarded by ads every 30 seconds. Other reviews say paying to remove them has caused problems so as much as I would like to support this game and its creators, I’ll keep playing in airplane mode.

Update 2026: I still am loving this game. So much that I paid the $5 to get rid of ads and support the creators. And UNFORTUNATELY ever since making that purchase I have been almost nonstop getting the in game pop ups to purchase the various packs they also offer. They are seriously every 3 minutes. Stop bothering me to spend more money! I know they are there. Pop them up ONE TIME when I start the app and I wouldn’t complain. But it has been almost constant game interruptions for things I don’t want! Turn the frequency down and I’ll restore the missing 3 stars.

Fun Game, Ads ruin it

Love the concept and gameplay. Difficulty is just right to keep your interest. But after a few levels the ads become so aggressive it isn’t worth playing. By level 10 I get unprompted ads after every two or three tiles played, PLUS the bonus tile ads, the special tile ads, and the extra tile ads. I don’t mind watching a few ads, but just Gave up on this game.

Hi! I loved this game upon initially playing and ended up paying for no ads. But as I got to level 6, I couldn’t finish a level with the tiles given and have to watch at least 2+ ads each level to gain more tiles to finish. A Few Improvements Would Make It 5 Stars!

I adore this game and could play it all day. The ads-free version is well worth purchasing.

Options to use diamonds or coins to buy unique tiles would make this game so much better though. I watched all the ads I could to get unique tiles but I can’t get the epic or rare ones without paying. If they were bundled together at a reasonable price I would pay, but unfortunately it seems there is no way to get these tiles without spending hundreds of dollars. Would love another way to acquire these tiles, and echo many others’ sentiments that a sandbox mode would be great. I would also like to see more challenges or goals within levels.

So excited to see how this game improves and expands over time!

Super fun game, would love even more options!

This game is so much fun & very relaxing! The tile management & placement you have to keep track of is a fun experience that relaxes my brain. I’ve spent countless hours just making beautiful landcaspes, and the ad-free perk is incredibly worth the price, and is worth it in my opinion to support the developers. The only things I feel the game is missing are a sandbox mode to endlessly explore and test my creativity, a level showcase feature to see maps I completed past levels with, and other ways to obtain unique tiles/structures. Other than that I love the game, and can’t wait to see what comes next!

This would be 5 Stars if...

....there were less pop-ups to buy the in-game bundles! I also echo the sentiments of others about having a free build mode, but I would've still given this 5 stars without that being a feature. However, every minute to 2 minutes I feel like I have to shoo away a pop up for one of the in-game bundles, and they take up the entire screen, which is especially annoying since I already purchased the add free pack so I could play with minimal disturbances. I wish there was a way to have the in-game bundles purchase options only appear when you're at the map, at the very least, and not in the middle of game levels. It's very annoying!

Not possible to pass levels without playing several ads

It was fun for the first few levels, then it became impossible to complete the level without playing ads (i tested it) basically to complete the level you need one spot with a certain amount of the same blocks, but the game would not give enough of those blocks before i would completely run out of them, causing me to need to play an ad. i got pretty fed up with it by the 10th ad (after only playing for a little while) and deleted the game. I understand that you need ad money to develop the game, but you can make enough money by being honest and offering for the extra powerups alone, it’s pretty sleazy to do it this way. Idk if i just got unlucky, but there really should be a mechanism to make sure you actually get enough materials to win without being forced to play ads for more blocks.

Could be 5 stars, but…

While I do love this game, I wish they would create actual new zones, pieces, and special tiles. If your geographical knowledge of the world were solely based on this game, you’d think there’d probably be less than 10 different countries / cultures in the world. The same zones just repeat over & over into the 100s levels.

As many have said, this game has lots of potential, but they probably don’t create anything new for it, copy & paste the same response back for each review (barely excited for their “we appreciate your enthusiasm, we’re already looking into the issues you’ve mentioned, happy building” response lol), and kinda just left this game behind. I get it, but plenty of other games create new levels and things all the time for a refreshing new look / feel and new goals / rewards, but here we are.

Annoying and Frequent in-game purchase ads on top of usual ads

I played this game before there were all of these in-game purchases that you could spend money on, back when it was a basic and friendly puzzle game. It did have many ads, but I was willing to overlook them because I found this game so fun. I took a break for half a year, and when I came back, now there are these “packages” that include gems and coins and tiles that I could spend money on that are being CONSTANTLY advertised!

I don’t want to spend money on in-game purchases, and I really wish I could turn off the pop-ups that interrupt my gameplay. I could be playing one level and the 4.99 deal pops up at least 5 times. The ads are already enough, please stop hounding me for money.

Ad Sounds and Lame Response

I LOVE this game. It is one of my favorite apps I ever played. However due to the response I received, it’s worth one star. If you want to listen to music or a book while you play, don’t play. The ads stop your music, every single time. Even when your phone is on silent. There’s no way to mute the ads you have to just wait it out.

Not only do the pop up ads pause your music, but there’s banner ads on the bottom of the screen and these ALSO play music and pause whatever you’re listening to. This happens randomly and often. I was irritated so I messaged the developers and asked if there’s a mute option, or if they will add one.

I got the most generic response, telling me to buy their 4.99 No Ads package. Honestly shove it. I just wanted to mute them, I wasn’t arguing about their existence at all. It’s just a money grab, make the ads so annoying so that people buy the package. I don’t agree with that practice and I don’t respect their response at all. It was in no way answering my questions, just pushing a sale.

Love this game but…

This is one of my favorite games right now! I have been playing for a few months and have enjoyed it a lot. I look forward to when I get to sit down and play.

But I do have notes for the developers for potential improvements:

1. More unique items!!!! Every single level should have unique items & lots of them! It adds key elements to the level, it’s fun, and they don’t make the level any less challenging.

- Not having them makes me not less eager to play that level (which u can’t skip)

- Center pieces of sparse too so w/o unique items, the maps can look worse in the end.

Ex: Hawaii maps have lots of great items but level 1-2 gave lots of items, 3rd level had 0 items, the next gave me different items I had to watch ads for and didn’t get any of the items I just unlocked in level 1-2. I understand the ads but the lack of items on some maps almost seems like a glitch, a mistake! Especially if you showcase the items on the home page… not being able to use them almost seems like an error?

2. I wish we could see the direction or at least some details of the Super Tiles before you place them. Not all of them have a particular direction, but some do & I wish I could see it. Just some arrows or an outline or something idk.

Relaxing

This game is so relaxing! Although it is a bit of a challenge it’s still fun if you love puzzles this game might actually be good for you, although the ads do get annoying sometimes, at least they are not like in some other games where they are mid-level, this game is also addictive and if you are not carful you will be finding yourself asking where the day went..

I honestly think the developers should add a relax mode even (though the game is already relaxing) they should add one where you don’t need to finish the level and you can just go on and on forever and ever. Sadly the don’t have this and I got this game with thinking that’s what it is

Used to be great…

This used to be a relaxing, stress reducing app. Unfortunately, the developers have abandoned the simple premise. The game is no longer a stress reliever. They’ve added poorly explained puzzles (some of which are necessary to progress to the next “normal” level) and complex game pieces that are extremely hard to use; the tiles often make the map look unpleasant and mismatched. The difficulty wouldn’t be so much of a problem if it weren’t for increasingly aggressive ads. Also, the app frequently resets your progress to seemingly random levels and zones. This isn’t a criticism of the programmers or artists, but the advertisements and new features have turned the game into a slog. I can no longer justify giving it a five star rating.

Solid game, but has problems.

Actually, this game is fun and addictive, however, I have complaints. Ofc, the ads pops up after you place a special building or randomly comes in at anytime after declining to watch an ad for a special (a bit inconsistent, but whatever). Then, the images when you choose to construct a building, is it AI? I feel like you guys drew the woman (who pops up and gives you tips) yet use Ai for the construction selection, no need to use Ai. And finally one thing that adds the nails to the coffin is the lag. So I’m using iPhone (iPhone 11), not sure everyone else experiences it, but the lag is unbearable!!! Even the ads is affected, I can’t skip, or sometimes froze, with the main game, super slow and sometimes freezes, super annoying! Overall, nice game guys, but I rather play another app that is less laggy and consistent with the art style (cute 3D buildings and terrain, not bad for the woman who gives tips, but it ain’t it with the selection profile!) with the same premise.

Would be 5 stars, but…

I have attempted to reach out through Support several times and received absolutely no response. I detest random popup ads, but I enjoy the game enough to have purchased the no ads package. However, shortly after paying for the package, my progress was set all the way back to stage 5. I had gotten through to the late teens, was possibly even in the early 20s (I can’t remember exactly, because it shouldn’t have been something I had to remember) and the game has completely forgotten all of my progress. I have yet to make any contact with the developers despite trying for weeks now. At this point, I’m willing to play through the stages again, but I do NOT want to watch the ads for the special tiles again. I watched every single ad I needed to unlock everything along the way, and I even purchased the no-ads package, so I shouldn’t have to watch ads again to get back the content I already earned. So, I would accept just getting enough tickets to skip the ads for the buildings from stages 5-15 or so if I can’t get my actual progress restored. I wouldn’t have left a negative review, but this is a last ditch effort to try and get literally any kind of response before I uninstall the game.

A beautiful game with a fatal flaw

This is an addictive, beautiful, creative game BUT it has a fatal flaw: too many ads, and despite paying for “No ads” THEY KEEP COMING. Worse, they are ALL at least a minute long! I tried complaining to Support, but they only said I must have guessed wrong which category of complaint I had, and they have many, most of which could have more than 1 possible relation. In short, NO HELP. The longer you play it too, the more ads you get, up to after placing even ONE tile! In short, this is NOT a “relaxing” game to play. I had earlier tried to keep playing for free, but quit after hitting the ad every tile situation and blew it off. A couple of days later I decided to try again and as soon as I could, I PAID for “No Ads”. No help either. It is definitely not worth MY time and money!

Ads and Glitches

I am frequently encountering a glitch where tiles placed will turn invisible. Sometimes it happens in the middle of the game, and lately it’s been happening with the first two or three tiles I put down. It’s becoming impossible to play with this glitch because I can’t tell what edges I’m looking at to continue playing.

The game itself is fun and I could find myself playing for hours. But the bonuses and special tiles pop up so frequently, interrupting the flow of the game, and often I will get an ad anyway if I decline, which to me negates the point of making them rewards for watching ads. The ads interrupt the game frequently as well, which has eventually made playing the game a chore.

Greedy update

I started playing this game 7 months ago and i had upgraded all my talents to the highest level and i had earned all the special tiles. I was easily 200 levels in and had paid for the no ads. Then i broke my phone. When i finally got back to where i could redownload the game i lost all my progress and there was no way to restore it. Then i noticed there had been an update that took away some of the best parts of the game. No more using coins you earned to upgrade tallents and the production tiles were taken away. Before you could buy more bulldozers by watching an ad but it was worth it because they gave you 5 bulldozers for one ad. Now you only get one and they dont let you upgrade to get more. They had a mystery tile levels those are gone. With the new update the game is now like all the other money grabbing games that i hate. I wasted so much time on this only for it to get worse not better. I will be deleting the game after this review.

I don’t hate it or love it

I love the game, because I’m able to create something cool. But my only complaints are how money hungry it is. I don’t want to spend my relaxation on watching an add to get these things to help me fix and build my world in this game. I also hate how most of the blocks with the three different pieces. One, it angers me whenever I have to find a place to put it on that makes the most sense. Second, it’s just ugly and ruins my peace and happiness. Third, 9 times out of 10 it looks good, but when I have to put other blocks down I make’s me want to crash out because it looks weird. I got this game because I thought it looked cool on the adds on TikTok, and it was fine until I got to the upper levels of the game.

Add a Sandbox mode

I got this game a few days ago and so far I’m really enjoying it. I love games where you can build your own worlds/nations/civilizations and this definitely itches a scratch I’ve had for a while with mobile games. But, I hate building a world that ends as soon as the objective is complete. You should add a sandbox mode or some kinda infinite game mode and keep the objectives but add more once the first set is complete or maybe just remove earning gold and tiles, chance to unlock unique buildings and stuff like that you get by playing through the levels. Either way I love the game. Keep up the good work

Wonderful Relaxing city builder

I was trying to find a relaxing city builder that felt engaging and relaxing, but also creative and this is a great game. It’s kind of like Tetris in a way because you can see upcoming tiles. It’s restrictive in a way because their preset tiles but also you feel creative in the way you design your city. I also like the challenge of trying to get certain power ups. It’s also not too complicated so it helps you relax. The ads can sometimes be a little annoying, but what I’ve done is chosen to use that time to close my eyes and breathe. Which has been actually a wonderful challenge. And I actually do hope that they work to help support the app because it’s I really wonderful game.

LOVE - Needs a creative mode

Okay - I’m obsessed. This game has been an unexpected favorite of mine. It’s so creative, visually beautiful, and very relaxing. It’s wonderfully detailed, with clouds, little boats, or deer that appear as you build biomes.

I really find myself wishing it had some kind of creative mode where I could have more freedom to really play and expand. I’d love to be able to demolish freely and store as many pieces as I want (or maybe a cap of like 20 pieces?) and to possibly mix/match landscapes from multiple levels and build larger worlds. Even better, an option to toggle settings on what kind of pieces will populate within Creative Mode (i.e. toggle on/off water pieces, town pieces, etc). It could be a paid option or something you unlock after beating all the levels? In any case, it’s a great game that and I really hope to see this feature someday!

Good until weird update

At one point within the last week or so, the little talent improvers where you can bulldoze or put a tile in the box went from having as many as you purchase with the coins you earn to none. It completely reset my progress with those little bonuses. Also, the number of talents you use to get would go back to the number you purchased for every new world you create. So if I had 10 bulldozers and used all 10 for one world, I’d have 10 again for the next world (unless I purchased more). All of that doesn’t happen anymore so it’s harder to play. I hate that when I pay money to get rid of ads, the game changes. This happened on another game as well. I’ve gotten bored of playing because I now have to watch an add just to bulldoze one tile which is the reason I paid to have limited ads in the first place. I really like this little game too.

Ads ads and more ads

This game is fun and addictive but the ads just make it unbearable to play. I understand if you want something you watch an ad to get what you want. In addition to that if you deny a bonus you still have to watch an ad! Or just as you play a tile another ad pops up! It’s ridiculous! We are talking like 6 ads in less than ten mins and they aren’t just short ones either. Another complaint is that after awhile it doesn’t save where you were on a level. And lastly, as other comments have stated, there’s so much wasted potential. I feel like adding a free play game just to create your own world with all the bonuses you have acquired would be fun and more worth money and time.

First off, I want to say that this is a great game. It is so fun. But there is a suggestion that I have. DEVS PLEASE TAKE THIS INTO CONSIDERATION. I think there should be an endless mode. It would be like the normal game, but there would be no star requirements, no levels, just making it look nice. I think it should have infinite power ups (but only those unlocked) and there should be multiple saves. For the multiple saves, I think there should be 2-5 saves for each land unlocked. I think this would be a large improvement to the game. Also, there should still the a star counter for if you want to want to know that. Great game but whyyy

So, this game is awesome. Very relaxing very fun but sometimes I wish there weren’t goals on the levels. On the free-play ad, I fell in love with it since I thought it was a cool relaxing game of just making your town. I didn’t realize that there would be levels with goals where you would have to complete it if you want to move onto the next level, which kinda defeats the whole point of why I got it. I do think the levels are smart to give the player something to work for but I also wish that there was a free-play button, that saves your progress whenever you exit and you can just build a big town. Overall, this is a really nice game since the ads aren’t very frequent, there is relaxing music and the art styles great. I really hope that a free play button can be added, if so, that would be great and I would give it five stars, (but it’s just a suggestion you don’t have to listen to me).

I love this game!

As I said, I love this game! It’s relaxing and challenging. Like a puzzle. You shape the board just as much as the pieces!

I did purchase the no ads.

I have a few suggestions/wants. I almost rated it 4 stars for that but I love playing too much to do that.

1- when I purchase the no ads I’d like to see no ads. That includes for when run out of pieces (like maybe have a currency exchange instead of ads? Like a diamond or something you collect on a rare occasion that you can use to restart the level?) it’s so rare I run out of pieces that it doesn’t distract from the game too much. But since I paid money I’d like to see the product. Not an ad. I’m so sick of them.

2- is like to see a creative mode. Either a- you only have so many pieces but you can break them a part and put them different places after you have placed them. Or b- just a continuous mode. With maybe all the different kinds of tiles? The levels are awesome but sometimes I just want to place for fun.

3- the special tiles where there’s a town, water water water, town (and other similarly separated kind of tiles) I’d like to be able to connect to for the resources and the such. So if I have a factory on one side it should connect and count the town on the far side of the water because they are connected. I hope that makes sense.

Fun puzzle game!

It’s a very fun game, I’ve been playing it for the last few days consistently. The puzzles are kind of challenging, but not too challenging, and it’s fun to watch yourself get to a somewhat salad sustaining spot. It’s also really fun to watch the world grow with the random tiles you get, and having to figure out where the best placement would be.

The one thing it doesn’t have, that I wish it did, is a build on your own mode. Like others have suggested, a creative mode of sorts, with infinite tiles, no star goals, just build to your hearts content. Maybe you do an infinite flat world that they can add to as much as they like, or maybe have borders, like giant ice walls. I hate watching my new world I just got into disappear because I reached the star goal. I want a world I can make my own!

I'm loving this game

I- like another reviewer wrote- would love if this game could have a creative mode or at least let the replay function on the levels have production tiles so that you can infinitely play. I love making little landscapes and imagining how people would live their little lives in the cities. I always thought it'd be so cool to use one of the maps I made for some tabletop gameplay, but I always run out of tiles before I feel satisfied with the map. I don't really care if you get no rewards for replaying levels or going in some fun infinity mode. I could genuinely see myself playing a creative mode for hours without end.

This game brings me such a sense of peace and tranquility. It’s fun I feel engaged and at times slightly challenged. I was playing it to an amount that the ads were becoming a nuisance. I did not want to pay $5 for ad free but finally broke and did it and honestly, no regrets. I find myself going back to levels I like a lot and adding to them but I wish there was a way to have a creative mode where once you finish a level you can go into an inventory and select any tile you want. Or the ability to start a level from scratch in creative mode (no stars or pre selected tiles). Overall though great game

Stolen Valor, Buyer Beware

If you enjoy the concept of this game and want to support the game developers that ACTUALLY came up with the idea, go buy Dorf Romantik on Steam. It’s by Toukana Interactive, whose game is getting redeveloped by this ‘free-to-play’ app developer that makes their money off of running in-game advertisements and coin bundles. It’s extremely scummy and these mobile game companies specifically target smaller, independent game companies like Toukana because they are less likely to bother with suing them for copyright infringement. Yes, Dorf Romantik costs money and this app doesn’t, but it’s also ad-free, more aesthetically pleasing, and has better controls. If you can’t afford Dorf Romantik, consider buying it when it’s on sale! Steam has several yearly sales that significantly mark down the price of most games. Bottom line, please stop supporting these horrible mobile game companies that grift off of indie game developers!

Greedy greedy greedy!

To be fair, as a fan of Dorf Romantik on the switch, I fell in love with this immediately. I fell in love so fast I bought the option to remove ads. Then I played. And it was fun. Three bonus options come up during the game. I can choose one and watch ads for the others if I want. Fair enough. But then! After offering bonus tiles during the initial gameplay, a few levels in, it offers them - IF - I watch an ad.

It’s a shame to see such a beautiful and well developed app filled with ads in sneaky ways. If I pay for the ad free option, throw me a bone and just take the ads out of things like the bonus tiles. They have their place. I’m fine with ads for certain bonuses, but they shouldn’t be in the middle of a game where I’m so focused I hit the bonus and am thrown into an ad because I didn’t see the tiny ad symbol.

I’m sure younger people don’t give two hoots. I’m old. Once upon a time you bought a game and that was it. Now we have “ad free” that really means “we won’t bombard you with ads, but we’re going to try and trick you into watching some”.

Missing Land??

I absolutely love this game and have spent hours playing. I even paid for the ad-free pack which has made the game better but still annoying that you have to watch an ad anyway if you want special tiles or to get more tiles to finish a level. But it’s still one of my favorite games. BUT, the most annoying thing happened starting at the extra level between level 21 and 22. I keep getting tiles that are missing land. I’ll get a tile piece that has two terrains and yet the two other corners of the tile is.. empty?? I thought it was a glitch and refreshed my game but they’re still there. It makes it almost impossible to fit tiles together because they’re not a match due to the “holes” in my land from the incomplete tiles. This has made me so annoyed that I stopped playing after retrying this level at least 4 times. PLEASE fix this so we can keep building!!

Lands didn’t save in the game???

When I first downloaded this game, I played it for literally 5 hours and loved how simple but creative the game could get. Didn’t even mind all the ads. However, I was heavily disappointed the next day when I went back to the game, and most of my previous built lands were gone. I’m not sure if there was a save button (it’s weird because all but two of my lands had saved) or if i misread directions but it was really upsetting because it just seems like wasted time. I know the premise is to get through all the levels, but if the game allows you to further expand after completing the level, then it should save so you can come back later. Would love to see a solution because I really wanted to keep playing.

Getting the same ads, had to start over my whole progress cus I didn’t have enough land

While playing the game a little, it was fun, until I got moutain lands, ads started to pop up insanely, Sometimes it gave me ads for placing 10 - 20 hexagons, and Can’t forget I get ads entering new or beating levels,

Until this one snowy level, for this snowy level I did SOMETHIGN where the mountains cutted off the other land, and small islands, but I realized I didn’t have enough land, so to finish the game I had to watch an ad to get more land, but by 142 hexagons I had 2 left, and I already watched a ad for more hexagons, so I say ooo!!!! I can watch another ad easy! But by the time I used the 2 hexagons…. It …. Said…… I ……lost???

Wonderfully relaxing

I got this to relax and it works! I did buy the ad free version as the ads became too annoying. I’m enjoying figuring out the rules and how to play. I think the developers have addressed the issues brought up in other reviews because I haven’t had a single ad that I did not purposely choose.

I like that I can watch one as and get 5 bulldozers and another as to get 5 pockets. That’s awesome.

The bonus screen requires you to wait a moment before you can skip it, same with the level end screen. If you touch the screen before the skip option, then it will send you to an ad for double coins. Easy to just wait. I love this game!!

So sick of tricks to make you watch minute long ads EVEN after purchasing NO ADS PACKAGE.

I absolutely love playing this game. To the extent that I was willing to buy the no ads package so that I could just enjoy playing without constant interruptions. However, they inserted this evil little trick, by making you choose a bonus after every few turns. You get one bonus free during this chance, but if you hit on a second bonus by accident, it immediately enters you into a minute long mandatory ad that you cannot escape unless you shut down the app and go back in. And to top this off, after youchoose the first bonus, they hold off on providing a skip button for about five seconds to ensure that you accidentally push one of the others. It’s just such a scummy way to stick this in there. It makes me so angry that good games keep being ruined this way.

I had fun for the first 1 1/2 levels. Until I couldn’t play anymore

I just downloaded this game thinking it’d be a perfect way to spend some of my free time off of life things. And I really was loving it but I was only able to play for about five minutes before I was bombarded with their beginner/starter and no add packs. But that wasn’t even why I’m writing this review, since I do not want to purchase the packs, I closed out the offers and then my screen would center on my little creation and bug out so I could no longer move, or tap on anything. The game didn’t freeze as the water tile’s waves were still moving, but I was no longer able to interact with the game. I tried restarting but the same problem happened several times over.

Easy to learn, hard to stop playing!

Land Builder is easy to learn and super cute (which is always a bonus), but at the same time, it requires enough brainpower that it’s a satisfying mental workout!

I can only think of one thing that would make this amazing game even more wonderful. Unlockable skins. Maybe we can purchase texture packs, maybe you periodically release more unique buildings, maybe users can change color palettes on tiles in their settings or something.

I just noticed the skin update, as I’ve slowed down on playing in the past month. It looks fantastic! Skins and texture packs can be the perfect way to include user creations and/or purchases, yet preserve the beautiful simplicity of the gameplay. You don’t need to add anything to the way the game actually functions! <3

Great fun, too many bonuses and ads

I started playing this game to relax, and after I discovered that you can go back and continue levels you have completed, I started building huge maps and having a lot of fun. In fact, that part might also be interesting for fantasy writers wanting to create a world map.

The problem comes from the unskipable bonuses that are forced on you every 40 stars. Once you have a large map, 40 stars amounts to about 4 tiles, and then you are forced to choose a bonus you probably don’t want. I don’t want more stars, they force more bonuses on me. I don’t want a higher percentage of water or city or forest, that might mess up the balance I have. I don’t need a higher production rate for the tiles, I have enough. But I have to choose a bonus, and they get worse the more often you choose them. And then after every bonus there are mandatory ads (either you play one to get another bonus or they just play anyway). It makes me want to avoid getting stars, and really takes away from the otherwise fun and relaxing game. D

Relaxing, easy, just one thing I’d add

Like the title suggests, I love this game!

My one thing I would love for this game to have that it doesn’t currently have is some kind of creative mode after completing a certain amount of levels. I find myself letting my imagine running while I play this game as it’s a great way to world build, but by the time I finish the level the city map has holes where I was waiting for the right matching piece, so even though the level is complete, I wish there was a separate mode where I can just go crazy with it and continuously add more and more pieces to build an entire metropolis! Since it’s not a level for points or anything, in creative mode you could store pieces as much as you want or simply be able to select from any of the pieces you’ve unlocked to build any kind of world map.

Regardless, I love playing this game so if a creative mode isn’t added I’ll still play the game :)

Wait a minute…

Isn’t this familiar? Isn’t this Dorfromantic? You know, the game where you build a world with field, forest, grass, and water? This game puts some new mechanics, but I have a hard time believing that this is an original idea. You couldn’t make the tiles any other shape? You could have made them puzzle pieces, squares, triangles, pentagons, hexadeccagons even!

Ads, purchases, and even an uninteresting character that teaches you the game and has no personality set this game apart from Dorfromantic. If I wanted to play Dorfromantic I would get my laptop and play it. I’m not saying either game was boring, that’s why this is a 2 star review and not one. It’s still fun. Dorfromantic, unfortunately, is a steam game. Until it comes to mobile, everyone who only has a phone has to wait.

Well this game is a ripoff, it’s undeniably hard to stop playing due to the nature of the game. I do wish there was a mode that goes until you run out of tiles, though. Some features that are in this game I wish were in the not ripoff counterpart, like landmarks and bigger buildings. Good job for making the game but not coming up with the idea because you didn’t.

Relaxing and Fun

This game was great as it didn’t require wifi to play and was a relaxing time waster. I do wish that there were different types of levels besides just increasing the length of the level and types of land. Once you hit a certain point in the level, it’s impossible to fail unless you purposefully try to. It would bring more depth to the game if you did add more to the difficulty. I also recommend adding more things to use the currency on like different pallets (ex candy land or spooky) or theme (for the menu screen).

One thing that has kept me from playing the game is the recent update. The confirm placement is now almost completely covered up by the abilities. I have an iPhone XR, if that helps any.

Overall, this is an enjoyable and relaxing game that could easily be improved with small features 🙂

Such potential ruined

This game has so much potential! When i first played it i fell in love! Such a great concept and the execution was great. Until i played it a bit more and realized the ads were out of control. I understand they need to pay the bills. Why is there no paid version without ads? This game would easily be worth $5(maybe more if some more work was put into it). However as it is now i would not recommend this game. Around every 10 tiles placed(less when you get further into it) you will get an ad. Even when you skip a reward they will play an ad. And if you think, we’ll I’ll just take the upgrades then. Problem then occurs where you get more stars quickly which causes more ads to occur. After 40stars you get a “choice” to watch an ad for a bonus, the bonus makes you get more stars per tile, basically causing the ads to be more frequent. It’s mind blowing oversight in the design. These ads Will auto open the App Store. They also will lag the game frequently. I just don’t get it. This game breaks my heart. The ads are just for other garbage games too, are they even making money off this game? Sad.

50% Ads

If you want to spend 50% of your game time watching ads then get this game!

The game could be great but devs have opted to make a few quick bucks off forced ad watching rather than spend a little more time developing this puzzle game into something worth playing.

The concept is great - simple matching to build a cute island - but levels never increase in difficulty, complexity, or design. You have to watch an ad every five tiles or so that you place to receive a bonus. There is a button to skip the second bonus but it will take you to an ad anyways.

My advise to the devs is work on creating levels of varying difficulty and visual styles, decrease ads and create a paid option for those of us who don’t want to watch any ads. If you don’t someone else is going to take your game concept and run with it.

Could be a 5 star game, but needs a lot of work!

I love the simple gameplay and the design of this game but there are several flaws that make me want to stop playing.

First of all, after a couple of rounds of playing I finally figured out I shouldn’t place tiles where I wanted them but where you would get the most stars to continue playing. I finally had a great round going, and ended up with a score of 4,371. I went to play again this morning and wanted to watch an ad for 10 more tiles and that world was gone. I put a lot of effort into that world and that upset me greatly.

Second of all, once you really get going you have to watch an ad every 5-7 tiles when you get a ‘bonus.’ So like a minute of gameplay and a 30 second ad. And in the beginning of playing if you get a new decorative tile, even if you decline it makes you watch an ad. I think with some improvement a lot of people would pay for an ad free version because the constant interruption takes away from the gameplay.

Lots of videos. Like. A LOT

This is a decent game, has exactly what I look for. I love the concept, and it’s calming - no stress involved.

HOWEVER.

A few changes need to be done if I am going to continue on.

- I want the option to “x” out of the bonus choice.

- the bonus choice shouldn’t be all videos. I can’t “x” out, and one of the three choices has the video tag but even choosing one of the other two that DONT have the video tag on it makes you watch a video.

- I want an option to purchase a “no ads” deal where I don’t have to watch a video.

- when I say A LOT of videos, I mean TOO MANY.

* you have to watch a video every 5-10 tile placements.

* if you sit for too long a video will pop up randomly.

* to claim a bonus you have to watch a video.

I watch about 30 videos in 45-60 minutes worth of playing. THATS TOO MANY.

Once your placement of tiles gets to the gift on the bar at the top of the screen, only the one marked with the video tag should be the one with the video.

I have 300 tiles to place. That’s over 200 videos I’ll have to watch. I don’t want to watch a video for every minute or two of playtime.

Too easy

I downloaded this game and few days ago and instantly fell in love. I liked a the game play, the challenge of placing the tiles in the best place to get the most stars. I liked that there was only ads to get monuments or when you had run out of tiles.

However, I updated it today and don’t like the changes.

1. I’m still on my first game, really preferred them ending quickly if you didn't plan well. I have over 1,000 stars and 109 tiles remaining.

2. There are too many bonuses and it’s really easy to get stars and additional tiles. There is no challenge. I am playing on an iPhone. Scrolling to get to where I want to place a tile it taking the most time in the game.

3. Now there are too many ads. Earn a bonus - ad. Finish a ‘level’ - ad. You can still get monuments by watching ads and permanently unlock them, but I got all the new ones in like 5 minutes of gameplay.

While I like to play games to relax, I pick the games I do, because I also like to think and have some type of challenge. There is no challenge and I will probably have to completely self sabotage this round in order to start a new game.
