Can’t do without it
Love this app. So much better than the default file manager. I actually wish you could choose it as the default instead. The only thing I wish it had was a password protected encrypted container that could be synced with a cloud provider.

This is the one to get
I think I tried every other remote file manager in the App Store before I found the one that really does the job - this one. I can preview a remote file, bring it over, work on it and then save back to the remote drive. It was easy to set up my remote sharing folders following the help file.

I’ve been using this app for a couple of years. Its functionality is excellent. I can move files between mobile devices and my NAS easily. It supports Touch ID, a security feature lacking in many other file managers. I recommend this app.

The best app since iCloud - or even better!
Absolutely essential app for storing, saving, managing, organizing, and especially transferring stuff on and between my iPads and desktop. On the desktop, a thumb-drive is all you need. BUT - on the iPads, there's no way to save or back up or transfer anything except by handing it over to the Cloud - or, by using an app like *Remote Files* to transfer them to a file-hub device and a regular thumb-drive! And, along the way, to save them in the app's built-in file system, for "further study". An indispensable app!!

I am starting to wonder what is the point?
I want a way to copy/move and manage files on iCloud, Google Docs, but apparently it does neither. So what is the point if you cannot do either off these activities?
Apple already provides a crappy file manager - crappy because it is buggy for google docs or at least that is my experience.
To be fair, it seems to offer delete/create folder and rename. You can also make it a favorite, but these things I do rarely. And further, if you want to view numerous documents inside the app, that apparently works.
But most of these features are available in other apps. To me, a file manage is just that allowing me to manage my files.

Issue playing video files
Overall I like this app because I can easily transfer files from my phone to my local samba drives. However, using the paid version every time I playing a video file when I switch apps next time I come back either the app restarts or I should replay the file since the audio doesn't play correctly.

Finally a way to expand the storage using an ipad pro. I have been able to connect it to an old airport router that was used to backup my mac but has been sitting there unconnected for a couple of years. I can use the airport disk for storage when I’m home and plug an external disk into it to load up before travel so I can have my files available without spending a fortune on an ipad with more storage than I actually need! Connected to dropbox perfectly. Great app

Another very useful feature for many? multiple tabs so more than one search result could be view instantly. Many times I find the occurrence of one word and want to be able to compare it to another specific occurrence of the same word or a different word.

Does not support Speak Screen
I like this app. However, because it does not support the use of Speak Screen accessibility feature when reading PDFs, I cannot recommend this app to others. People pay for this app and basic accessibility features are lacking.
I will change this review if Speak Screen becomes supported.

Odd Behavior
This app has been great for browsing through folders of images, but lately it has started to behave strangely when scrolling through a folder where all the thumbnails are not yet built. It looks like it’s stretching the entries and jumping around. Basically, it doesn’t scroll smoothly any more, until all the thumbnails are built.

Works Great
I contacted Apples Time Capsule Support service, before I knew about this app, and was told that my iPad was not a MacBook and couldn’t use my Time Capsule with my iPad. Now my iPad, using this app can, has well over 1 TB of storage capacity. This app is one of the best additions that users of IOS can add to their devices. You can even use this to move files to devices that are noncompliant with Apple network security protocols.

One of the classics
Using the full/paid version.
It just works - nothing flashy, just a remarkably solid tool that gets the job done. Recently updated to account for Google's authentication requirements.
As others have said - similar to Finder on OSX/macOS and provides a tool not natively available on iOS.

Very Handy Tool
I've been using this app for about a year and find it to be very handy for moving files around on my LAN. Their are lots of tools, lots of apps to do this and I use several but for simply getting a few files from one location to another, Remote File Manager works best for me. Setup was quick and straight forward (about 12 devices) and use is intuitive (if I can ever keep "upload" and "download" straight). The only nits I've discovered involved transfers to and from a couple of Epson Workforce AIOs and an apparent file size issue with the viewer.
All around, I'm a happy camper.

Good file support. Rename files and extension. Move, copy, paste, upload, search across various folders.
I requested they add .crf file video support, and they had it done in a week. Works to monitor security cameras. Great support!

This app used to work great now it's just garbage. I purchased the pro version does not let me see my movies in my capsule. I wrote to creators of app got nothing out of doing that.

Downloading files fails
I have the 128 GB iPhone with plenty of free space. Whenever I try to download a movie from my file server to watch on the go, the download fails. My file server has no issues on any other client. I was hoping to queue up a bunch of movies for a trip but this app is either unresponsive or displays an error each time. Force quitting the app and restarting my phone didn't change my outcome either. I would look elsewhere if you need this feature.

I haven't had a single problem with this app, and that's saying a lot. Video of all formats stream perfectly, and it's no nonsense UI is a breath of fresh air. I'd gladly pay twice the price of this app.

Where have you been all of my life?! This app is everything and more of 5 apps that I just deleted. It works awesome for Dropbox, personal clouds, and just about any kind of cloud! No more need to lots of memory on my phone. It's all stored on the cloud and accessible via this app!

1) In split view, it has a glitch when you try to choose photos in edit mode of photo library.

Finally found it!
I've been looking for a file server that is quick, easy, and does not require constant set-up every time I add files to the server. This one does that perfectly. After several months I've had no issues at all, and I've been able to delete the other dozen apps that pretended to do what this one actually does. Nice work!

Simply amazing
I didn't even know this kind of app existed. Pure gold. Previews images on my computers external harddrives, allows me to browse and watch all my videos, upload and download files... The list goes on and on! Only problem I have is it's inability to see into zip folders without downloading first, but I imagine that is something that can't be changed, because the entire zip file must be dumped to memory before it can be temporarily unzipped and the files seen. Love this app! Great job!

Excellent For Home File Sharing & Streaming
This is the best app I have found for easy sharing & streaming of my MP3 and MP4 files from my Mac and Win 10 computers to my IOS devices (iPhone and iPad). The app remembers my login for each server. The auto-discovery of servers on my WiFi network is very helpful. The arrangement of folders and files is very logical. The programmer has made a wonderful app with many more features than noted here. Thank You !!!

So much faster
Was using GooReader, a very good program, to get at my zillions of PC files already. It works but is slow and not very flexible. Installed Remote File Manager and wow, it gets at the files much, much faster, shows you thumbnails of their contents, and lets you sort them in various ways. You can also search for files. And it streams videos and handles huge PDFs well. Great program, highly recommended!

The most use on my IPad
Thank you for keeping the app comparable with first generation IPad. I use it to manage my network NAS devices and to do bulk filer transfer between them. Thanks for coming out with this great app, keep up the good work. Also is the best way to manage my cloud storage, specially now that many apps stop supporting older IOS rev. if you ever stop supporting older IOS rev.

Excellent App I recommended if you have airport time capsule
Excellent App I use this app specially to access to Apple airport time capsule hard drive and I can through this app to read/write any data from it and what amazing that I can move all my photos videos movies and documents in my IPad directly to time capsule hard drive through this app. This app can recognize mostly all files extension and can play mostly all movies. Excellent file management application!
This application has allowed me to consolidate files in one location and save tons of space on my iPad Air. Before I got this application I had multiple copies of the same file from opening them in different applications. This application is seen by all of the applications I use for the different file format that I commonly use. Without now once I edit the file in one application I open it and this application and delete it from the original Application that I made the changes in. The only thing that I wish it had was an option to add to my iCloud storage.

Issue with WMV video file
Just saw a new update today that fixes WMV file issues so I promptly downloaded it. Good news is that the sound issue is fixed but the video slider on the player still does not work for those WMV files that originally had sound issues. When I used a different app like Qfile HD, it lets me use the slider control so I know it can be done. Thanks for the sound fix and if the slider issue is fixed, this app will get my five star.. Good work!

Well Done App!
I have a home network drive that I needed to be able to access via Wi-Fi. This app does the job with flying colors. I can move photos off my iPhone 6 to this drive. I can watch movies stored on the drive. In fact, it streams and plays the files faster and without buffering. Works better than my Plex app. It's so nice to find a file manager app that does what is says it can do without a lot of hassle. It also creates thumbs of photos, which many of the other file managers do not. They act more like FTP clients instead.

Don't buy this app!
Bottom line, the app has a big problem in that it takes a looong time accessing the network attached storage (in my case, a Time Capsule). I have contacted the developers as other similar apps almost instantly connect to the Time Capsule. The developers haven't been able to fix the problem.
I HIGHLY recommend you check out an app called OPlayer (there are two apps called Oplayer, one is a rip off of the original--avoid the rip-off!). OPlayer is flawless at interacting with the Time Capsule, and has more features, and it's cheaper!

Great program so far....
I'm using a NAS server for media content. Streaming music,movies and pictures, etc. One thing I would like to see other than the continuing development, is a password setting for admin to keep users out of changing the setup. Also a WOL would be nice to save energy. Keep up the good work!
Update: After using the app for a bit I noticed that the developer must put in this program a way via check box to select only the music you want to play. As it is now, if you play one song in a music folder it plays the whole folder. Not good at all. DEVELOPER PLEASE CORRECT THIS/ADD THIS OPTION TO THIS APP. This would almost make it perfect. Thanks

App really works
I've been using this App for the past three months. It has been running good. It's easy to use. I can access my iMac's files from my iPhone 4 and ipad2. I also can streaming my files from my iMac to the Apple TV using my iPad2. Deleting files from the iPhone and iPad doesn't always work, so I don't do that much. It also allows me to access the hard drive connected to the iMac remotely. I highly recommend this App!

The only Windows Network Video Player that works
I have tried half a dozen video players that claim to stream over the network and this incredibly robust file tool is the only one that actually works. It's a shame the video portion is so featureless. Videos play in portrait unless the rotation lock is off... Fast forward and rewind buttons for long movies that don't scrub well, background play, increased playback speed all would be nice, but the ability to remember playback location is sorely missing.
I realize the video playback is a secondary feature, but like I said, this is really all we've got. BUZZ Player constantly errors out when trying to stream and unlike this app, takes forever to start when it actually works. PlayerXtreme desperately needs to use tap and hold to bring up menus instead of popping them up on every tap. Fast folder browsing but inexplicably can't play mp4/m4v. VM Player can't even browse the network as it claims.
This app can do what those other players can't and video playback was an afterthought!

Indispensable app!!
I have been using Quick Explorer for a couple of weeks and it has become indispensable on my iPad and iPhone both. Having access to my home NAS where I store all my iTunes videos makes it the perfect movie viewer. And access to my google cloud drive while away from home has saved me on more than one occasion. Having viewers for all the major file formats makes it my goto app for accessing files, movies, songs, whatever. And it is fast, my google drive over a 3G connection feels like it is a local connected hard drive.
