Working. But crashing

I do a lot of work on my iPad. It’s crashing often on. Always asking me to sign in. Very difficult even look at the patient in their charts. Needs real help from the developers. It needs a resuscitation. Getting worse now. Please make it better. Please. it’s still unable to sign in difficult to sign in. Do you guys need to fix it because it’s a great opportunity.

This application has been super efficient in my day to day workflows and the ability to order and increase my level of efficiency with patient care has been crucial to creating patient success and minimizing wait times.

Not THE worst but certainly not top notch

I’ve used varying EMRs and their available apps and this ranks among the worst. It is nowhere in contention for best in class.

For starters it takes 5 taps just to log into the app after starting it before you are able to do anything, whether that be viewing a patient list or reviewing a chart if already open.

And then not all patient data is available. I understand limiting certain things for patients but with a doctor?

Unfortunately I can’t persuade our organization to switch to another EMR that is a little more, shall we say, epic.

App already very poorly made, now with new update requires you to sign in TWICE with a captcha and isn’t letting me log in. We don’t have a choice but to use the app but geez at least make it work.

Needs Medicine Reconciliation!!!

To review a note, check a lab, or place a quick order, this app is OK. However, the addition of medicine reconciliation capacity would vault this app into incredibly useful. For providers with high volume clinics, medical reconciliation compromises a tremendous amount of time and mouse clicks. To be able to do this easily on the go would be a game changer for efficiency. And would be a much more realistic utilization, than attempting to document within the app, especially as AI becomes more of an assistant for documentation.

Absolutely terrible app. Crashes in the middle of notes and orders frequently and saves nothing so you have to start over. Can’t view/edit “shared HPI”, can’t change “myexperience” view to review referrals. Useless.

Missing blood gas values

Nice app that works with ipad but is incomplete.

All labs show up except blood gas and that is what I need as a pulmonary doctor to check on my patients. Will try to use and then if needed call the hospital to get the blood gas number from the nurse!

Hopefully this is a minor issue can be fixed soon.

Repeatedly gives system error

I’ve downloaded this app 10 times. It allows me to review one patient, but if I exit that chart and try to view another, it freezes. I have to close the program and reload it every time I want to move to another patient. This has been happening for a year. I have attempted to contact customer service, but they are worthless.

This app needs: Micro view and increased ordering ability

Why is the micro tab conveniently missing? It needs to be there to make antibiotic decisions moving forward. Also, why is the ability to order things limited? Please add the ability to order fluids. As of now we can only cancel them. At some point in the very near future, please add the ability to order/edit power plans. Also make the app faster overall.

Needs microbiology section

As an infectious diseases consultant this app is essentially useless to me because there is no microbiology section to review cultures and susceptibilities. This app needs to have actual information added in.

Make it useful!

Only works for some specialties, no OB or prenatal, won't bring up pdfs, can't pull up lists from care teams. As one IT md said, cerner is "almost good" but never quite gets there.

Helpful…when it works

I need to sign-in and sign-in again and again all day long. Then it freezes up completely, and I cannot even re-download it. What a pain ing the neck.

When it works, it is helpful to have it open in the patient’s room while I am talking them.

Terrible app, avoid if you can

This is the single worst piece of medical record keeping software that I have ever used (vs Epic and other homegrown EMRs). Anytime I want to dictate notes for my clinic, I usually have to login and log off of the app around five times and hope to be lucky to make a solid connection. The dragon integration is great, when it works, and unfortunately that is infrequent. There is zero consistency day-to-day in which work-around will allow me to open and use the software. Unfortunately, our clinic has bought into this Cerner ecosystem and we are far too reliant on this app. There is terrible product technical support, frequent unexplained downtime and surprise updates that tend to render the app unusable for at least several days after launch each time they come out.

Still lacks even the most basic features

This app completely lacks the ability to perform even the most basic and frequently performed functions, such as **ordering medications.**

As a physician who works with two different mobile EMR apps, Cerner’s PowerChartTouch highlights glaring feature disparities that are emblematic of the long-standing deficiencies inherent to the Cerner’s parent EMR. Of note, these deficiencies are a solved problem in other EMR apps. For example, Epic’s Haiku app has supported basic functions such as ordering medications for years. It is remarkable that — despite this profound feature disparity — Cerner’s PowerChartTouch app has made no apparent progress towards integrating even the most basic features within the past 12 months.

I recommend that physicians seek out alternative EMRs when possible and avoid Cerner’s languishing platform altogether given the seeming lack of active development.

Miserable

The app has always been glitchy, but with the recent update, frequent shut downs, freezing’s, microphones not working, slow to upload to the main system, etc. Have to frequently delete and reinstall the app, or shut off my phone to reboot the app and get it to work. Very impressed

The functionality of this application is great. It is very user-friendly providers are able to check a patient’s vitals, labs, documents, imaging reports, medications before they walk into a room. Something that needs improvement is the ability to create patient list within the mobile device. Currently there is no way to create a patient list on my phone however it would be a great addition to this application.

Why can’t I see my available slots on my schedule? I don’t see any settings that I can adjust so it must be within the app.

I don’t know what they did with the late update but now I constantly have errors with processing orders and even opening up the chart. They need to roll things back and work out the bugs. Unusable until then.

To have a multi billion dollar EHR company coming up with such a third rate app is quite astonishing. Who designs your app?! Clicks don’t work, power plans are ill conceived,. Don’t believe me? Try using restraints or medications that create interaction alert. You will throw your phone in agony.

I have used this app for years and each improvement falls short of basic software principles...

Won’t let me sign in

Despite having the hospital IT department working diligently with me for two days in a row two hours at a time. I cannot sign in. Eventually locks me out of Cerner and they, IT, have to then unlock my account. It’s been a disaster. They’ve asked from Cerner to help with the matter. Hasn’t worked.

Loss of flowsheets and viewing current labs first

With the new updates we lost flowsheets and labs vital signs and also lost viewing only current labs first and the ability to pull up old labs now the laboratory screen is filled with The clutter of old laboratory results that Are of no importance to the current day placing orders are slower constantly verification of patient physician relationship and is slow. Microbiology not available such as cultures and sensitivity, all charge after discharge not accessible, medication history dosing scheduled of current inpatient orders not available. All this should be available just like they are on otherPrograms. Can’t believe it’s not done.

Dictation was probably the best part of this app. Now it doesn’t pick up half the words, and is very slow. Please fix this as this app has largely become useless for many of us that dictate notes on it.

Becoming more useful, still slow

I tend to use the iPhone app more, however my biggest issue is with the slow loading speeds. This must be improved! Otherwise, I am happy to see more ordering features and it is great for tracking labs during hospitalization.

No microbiology, clunky, poor UI

Desperately needs Microbiology interface. Who are you kidding? Microbiology data is >50% of inpatients. You cannot make a decision on many patient’s without knowing culture results, ID and sensitivities. So rounding with this in the hallway is limited.

I’m quite facile with technology and figured how to use this with forced patience and perseverance. It is not intuitive to place and edit orders. Good luck those who claim to be luddites, then again you may not be trying this anyway.

It’s so slow migrating from one patient to the next, and between patient lists. Last update seemed to help slow things more. Good job.

Allow to see patients who have been discharged or in a list of discharged patients. That is important if you need to search to contact someone or follow up with them. Currently d/c’ed patients disappear from all lists.

Need MAR tab to see what meds have been given and when. This helps deciding if you need to order that extra potassium or magnesium among other things.

Accurate dictations

I use this app to dictate and then transfer dictated sections into the PowerChart office note. Unable to dictate social history, family history or past medical history. Useful to look at results otherwise practically worthless.

As are most Cerner products which have great potential but the company seems to go out of its way to ignore customer feedback in order to improve its offerings. Such a shame!

Getting worse

This used to be a really great app, but it just keeps getting worse and worse. It seems as though you are trying to make it obsolete. Starting today it now logs out after about 10 minutes, even if I’m using the app. The display for lab results is basically useless as you can no longer look up just by the most recent labs. If I leave the app to go to another app, when I come back it goes back to the patient homepage, not where I was 30 seconds ago. When I log in for the day, it is still on the previous day. Please restore this to the functional efficient app that it previously was.

Clunky

Very light version of Power Chart. Voice recognition is stellar! Helpful for phone calls from patients to look up labs and imaging. Unnecessary haptic steps. Real estate taken up by useless options like on the opening page: checkbox for remember user. Not necessary because the user is always remembered anyway.

Old version preferred

When the new update came we lost an important trend review for data. For example, when a lab was selected a double tap would open the details of the lab and include a graph trend of the measured value over time. This was very valuable for many types of measurements including, vitals, specific blood pressure trends, heart rates, and important lab values. Now with the update, vitals are not available in a trend view, nor labs. Labs are only listed by dates, and not easily accessed like before. Our team rounds appreciated the ease of data access and mobility throughout the hospital on our service and power touch expedited our rounding, now since the update the data is not as timely/accurately updated, and the trending capabilities are absent. Very disappointed in the updates. Please bring back the trending graphs and detailed views of vitals and labs that were available before.

Dictation is spot on 100% and a time saver, but not used anymore by our team since graphing trend review was taken away.
