Description

MIPC is a mobile real-time video surveillance software used with cloud camera. Through this client, you can view your home, shops, offices and other places at any time in real-time video and video history, also receive immediate alert to the place of abnormal information alarm, and take safety precautions at the first time.
Main function:
Support mobile real-time video surveillance;
Real Time HD video viewing;
Remote PTZ control, operate on the camera direction rotation through the touch screen;
Support remote intelligent video recording, video real-time notification and playback;
Support real-time intercom, video electronic amplification and other functions;
Real time alarm and information push. When the environment is detected, the client will receive the alert information immediately.

1. Subscription Cycle
Continuous monthly service, a monthly deduction
2. Subscription Price
1 cam for 30 days loop record , monthly price is $ 6.99
2 cams for 30 days loop record , monthly price is $ 11.99
4 cams for 30 days loop record , monthly price is $ 20.99
3. Payment Method
For accounts that purchase automatic subscriptions, the cost of the next subscription period will be deducted from your iTunes account 24 hours before the expiration. After the deduction is successful, the service time will be extended by one subscription period.
4. Cancel Automatic Subscription
If you need to cancel the automatic subscription, please manually go the phone "Settings" -->Enter "iTunes Store and App Store"-->Click "Apple ID"-->Select "View Apple ID"-->Enter "Account Settings" -->Click "Subscribe", and then select MIPC subscription service to cancel the automatic subscription. If you do not close the subscription 24 hours before the end of the subscription period, you will be deemed to agree to continue to authorize, and the subscription will be automatically renewed.

Stopped working

This app has worked great for several years I have had it but now the past couple of days I can’t login or even get the support page to load. It keeps saying the network connection isn’t available but I’m definitely connected to WiFi and not having issues with anything else.

Constant Ads just to see my home. Literally quit working, motion settings are completely gone.

Every single time I login to take a look around my house, I have to constantly see an ad every single time. I shouldn’t have an ad pop up every single time I login to look on my cameras. That’s ridiculous! One of the cameras quit working all of a sudden, no explanation. Stop with the ads every time!

Terrible app

Had for a few years. Never really that bad. Until update year or two ago. Lost the ability to set sensitivity of human. Now unless the person stand directly in front of the camera. It won’t recognize a person. So I set motion detection on. That’s even worse cause a gust of wind blowing on leaves sets it off all day and all night. AT LOW SETTING!!! Camera sensitivity is no longer an option in the app. Has ZERO!!! Ability for custom detection zone. Customer support apparently only speaks Chinese. Wrote an email and seems like they responded weeks later with what looks like they used Google translate or something.
10 out of 10 won’t buy any products from them again.

Lousy Software

It was impossible to get the app to even create an account. It simply “spins” and never moves to the next step. This is after downloading and deleting the app multiple times on an iPhone 16 Pro that is within 20 feet of the Xfinity Arris model WiFi modem.

Horrible

I was recently out of town and the app signed me out for some reason. I contacted support and they advised me to delete the app and reinstall. I did just that and it still did not work. I got home thinking maybe the camera just got unplugged somehow. Nope. I was told there was nothing else support could do. Deleting the app is the only help you can provide? Awful. The camera is now in the trash.

Poor Design

Every time you open the app, it shows a huge ad that takes up the whole screen. I pay for extra memory so this shouldn’t be a thing. I also hate the way that it shows your saved footage. It’s very hard to scrub through it to find what you’re looking for.

Lack of Support

The camera basic functionality works great, and I’ve used it for the past couple years. However, I just recently had an issue where I was signed out of my account and I cannot remember my password. This is something that happens all the time, and should be easy to fix, but resetting via email wasn’t working, and I can’t find any other way of getting support to fix this issue than write this review. Please help me recover my account so I can check in on my cat

Just Ok

The app is just ok. I am using the camera to monitor my puppy when I am away andI store the video on a Micro SD card for review. Since this review is for the app and not the camera, I will only talk about the app. The biggest issue I have with it is that you cannot scroll for content review. When you select x4, x8, or x12 to speed up viewing, I always get an “network error” and have to review the recorded video in x1 mode. you cannot scroll the content because the view mode defaults to a blank screen and you physically have to watch the content in x1 mode. I use this app on my iPhone, iPad and Mac. All of which have the same issue with playback review. Scrolling or a fast forward option would be great versus having sit and painfully watch nothing happening.

Only shows advertisements

After recent update an advertisement shows now every time you open it and any attempt to hit “skip” makes you click on the ad. Now the video streams are broken. Won’t show me my cats anymore. Just advertisements. Hard to believe this is legal.

The worst camera ever made!

Granted that’s saying a lot. Go ahead and buy one. Heck buy two like I did. Every once in a while I’m able to add the camera to the software but inevitably it will “disconnect” only to require deleting the device and adding it back. Now if that doesn’t sound too bad, there’s more. It took over an hour to get both cameras connected and two days later one was unable to connect. My internet does not go down and the device is sitting on my WiFi router. Bought a Blink and it’s been up for 3 months and it’s one hundred feet from my router. One final thought… Don’t do it.

Can’t use it anymore

The app continued to ask for “ To protect your security, please set the device password and keep properly. If you forget it, please restore the factory settings and set up again.”
When put in my password, it always said network was busy, please try again.

It couldn’t get any worse

The cameras are quality and would be a very useful investment if you were able to actually review video footage as intended.
The entire playback “option” is insanely low IQ. You could not make it any more difficult to find a particular segment of footage.
You could be murdered in cold blood, directly in front of one of the cameras, and no one would ever be able to figure out who did it.
I’m not sure how things like this even make it to market, but whoever decided they wanted to pretend to be an app developer here needs to have their mental health evaluated.

When it works, it’s decent

It worked at first for maybe 2 weeks. Suddenly camera is not available. I am on the same network as the camera and within pretty close range. Now it’s says unavailable. I have tried all sorts is things and made sure the app is up to date. Still nothing. Would not recommend - unreliable camera and there are better ones out there with better apps.

What happened to all my settings? I don’t have system settings or anything that I used to have on my app anymore. I see it was it was Upgraded a week ago. I only have my device and my account on the home page. Also, it says it’s compatible with iOS 11.0 but that is not even available for me to put on my phone yet.

Horrible

Constantly have problems when refreshing screenshots you have to uninstall the program reinstall it every time. It only works for five hours after that you have to do the same thing clicking on the cameras works, but something went wrong with the new update.

Run! 😳

Sorry, MIPC, we’re breaking up. I’m SO done with you. And if there are any potential buyers out there, PLEASE do NOT buy this camera, or download the accompanying app. Please.
Three-plus years ago, we purchased your product as a baby monitor for my precious grandchild. It worked well, but spotty, for that first year or so.
Then came the voices.
Yes. Conversations between a man and a woman, or just the man speaking endlessly, clearly echoed through our baby’s monitor. About a year ago, we heard a man shouting, “stop!” Our toddler was sound asleep, and seemed unbothered by the voice. Thank goodness.
Of course I understand it’s probably some sort of electronic interference. I have no knowledge about how these things work. But, still.
When you added the obscene, intrusive ads to the app, we were absolutely done. Every time we try to look at the baby, we get a quick glimpse of her, and then a full-page ad. If we tap the ad ANYWHERE outside of the tiny “x,” we are taken to the advertiser’s website! I mean, we are whisked there immediately!
It’s all so ridiculous. I actually feel sorry for the poor advertisers who honestly think their ads through MIPC will bring them ANY traffic whatsoever.
I’m assuming the speedy kidnapping of our monitoring devices, when you forcefully grab us and throw us into the various advertisers’ websites, is a sinister way to show these businesses that their ads are, in fact, driving views to their products and services.
Everyone who reads this review, please do NOT download this app or purchase their products!
We’ve since switched to a non-web-based monitoring system for our grandchild and we’ll never go back. I literally disconnected the camera and buried it deep inside one of our “junk” boxes. I’ll smash it and throw it away when I get the chance.
MIPC is an all-around horrible system. I’d love to give them less than one star, but I can’t.

Unsafe

So this morning I hear strange voices coming from the camera and when I go to look at what happened, the video is gone or didn’t record. I use cameras as a baby monitor but now I’m super uneasy. I’ve heard voices before but I thought it was just my imagination but now I have confirmation that it is not. I heard it last night and this morning. I wouldn’t buy this product due to safety concerns

Essentially Worthless at this point

10 years ago these cameras and the app where great. Since then, the company that now owns this has managed an epic fail. Unreliable and useless for anything urgent. Occasionally works on one iPad but not another. These products have gone off a cliff and new versions are not as good as the originals. Suggest trying any other brand. I don’t like endorsing Ring, but at least their platform works properly and is reliable.

Don’t buy these cameras!

They rarely work properly as the software is always jacked up and it runs off of their website which it rarely seems to be updated. If figured this out by going to their website when the cameras aren’t working right and can’t stream. When the website is jacked up so are the cameras cuz that’s what runs the cameras! They would be great if this company could keep up on things and keep their website maintained but they don’t!

Not Safe

I really love this little camera. I was watching my dog with it while I wasn’t home. Only problem I have with it, is a really BIG problem.
It is NOT secure!
I normally just unplug this camera when I come home. Last night I forgot. So I get up this morning, have my coffee. I usually sit and read my Bible and a devotional.
One feature on the camera I like is that when I’m out I can scan the room it’s in. Well I don’t normally use that feature and I did not use it last night While I was away, I did look at my dog. Her bed is right in front of the camera.
But when I came back to my chair that is beside the camera, it was looking right at my chair. This concerned me. So I got in to change my password. Someone else had already changed it. I couldn’t figure out what language it was in though so I went to Google translate and turns out it’s Dutch. I’m American.
Evidently it’s easily hacked. So, it’s going right back into the box it came in and will not be used in my home again.

Doe snot work on new iPad 13 Pro (M4)

This app works fine on my other ipads, ipad gen 8 and a new ipad mini (latest gen) plus my iPhone 15 Max Pro.
For whatever reason, it only shows a black screen when selecting a camera to go live.
This is the only app giving me issues on my iPad 13 Pro. I'm certain it is something to do with the new M4 chip, but, for now, I'll remove it on my new iPad 13 and wait for the App to get a new update to fix this.
As for Cloud, I use the VICOHOME app with approved solar security cameras sold at Amazon. It runs circles around this app plus a year's subscription for all cameras (unlimited devices!) for Cloud recording is only $49 a year though Apple! Check it out!!!

Continuous Crashes

I have had these for 2 years now and have seen more system crashes in the past 6 months. When the cameras are on and working it’s great. The quality of the camera is pretty good for the cost. This app thought constantly disconnects from the camera making them unusable. I have the most updated installment of the app and still my cameras all of a sudden won’t work anymore with no explanation as to why. No it’s not my WiFi because everything else is working as it should. Clearly this is the same complaint as every other person on here and by the automated response messages from the company it seems nothing is getting solved. I feel there is no point in contacting the support team as they clearly have read these negative comments and took the time to respond but have yet take the time to fix their app. Don’t waste your time or money and do your research and get a much better system.

Got the upgrade App.

I noticed that the camera wasn’t posting the film clips after 4:pm. I notified the company right away. They responded in a timely manner, and asked me to down load the upgraded version from the App store. Amazing, everything now works as wonderfully as it did before. DO NOT USE! They hacked my private photos!!!

If I could give zero stars I would!!! Someone from the customer support team hacked into my PRIVATE personal photo library on the phone connected to the camera!! I noticed the app didn’t have the option to see who all was logged on my account to view my camera, which is a major concern given the amount of cameras that are hacked these days. So I contacted support & asked if there was a way I could check to see if anyone else had access to my camera. Customer support responded saying there was no way & simply do not give out my password. Several days later my husband accidentally sent a family photo on the support chat of my family at a local creek. A member of the customer support team responds to that message by sending several sexually explicit personal videos/pictures & a middle finger emoji!!! This app has no information on the creators, support team, or anyone to report this to!!! I can’t believe Apple will continue to allow this app to continue knowing they are hacking into customers devices!!!!!! I can provide proof of the conversation with the support team & the images they responded with!!!!
It clearly states on the privacy policy that this developer does NOT collect data from the app, but THEY ABSOLUTELY DID HACK INTO AND STEAL EXTREMELY PRIVATE DATA FROM MY PERSONAL PHOTO LIBRARY APP!!!!

Issues after last update

Since the latest update my motion detection recordings are all messed up. Seems the camera stops recording at 9:58 am. After the update I did a bunch of things to try to get the recordings going again and everything went back to normal until this morning when it stopped recording at 9:58am again. The app has always been a pain in the butt, however this latest update is a new level of stupid. Go with a different camera and a better app.

recent update doesn’t work!!

recent update doesn’t allow you to view the video footage on the sd card on that same day. date is messed up. it won’t let you view the recording on the current date you need to wait until the next day to view the footage from the prior date so if i need to view a footage from 2 hours ago, i can’t view it until passed 4pm the next day. each date is from 4am-3:59 and it’s 1 day behind. please fix this ASAP!! i need to be able to view the recorded footage right away, not the next day!

HACKED CAM

Earlier today, I was monitoring my camera with sound on when suddenly I heard a voice and a man’s chuckle through the sound. I had headset on and my home is isolated so it was 100% through the app. Do not use this for your safety.

Great camera, infuriating app

I have three different cameras that use this app, and the cameras themselves are great. But viewing the footage is a nightmare due to the CONSTANT glitches in the app. For example, it’s impossible to skip to the part of the video where something actually happens. You have to watch the whole 30 minute clip. My only workaround has been to save the full video and scroll through it on my iPhone to get to the 10 seconds of motion detection im trying to watch. This is just one of MANY little infuriating glitches. All 3 cameras I have are wonderful but I wish there was another app I could buy to monitor them. Every positive reviews for this app is about the camera itself which is a completely different manufacturer/company.

Update was crap!

Sometime in the past couple of months an update took this app from maybe a 4 to a 1 at best. History stopped being retained longer than current day on all 8 of our Cameras with SD cards. Their Customer Service Support was totally useless. They wouldn’t listen to what I was telling them or even use common sense! They said it must be due to my cameras (all 8 of them) which all stopped at the same time. They are on 3 different networks in 3 different physical locations. They wanted me to switch over to Cloud storage. I asked who was going to pay for that? No response.
I popped a couple of SD cards out and reinserted. No change. After a week of exchanging daily emails where they didn’t read what I was telling them or even looking at the screenshots of settings I’d sent them still said it was my cameras. I finally found (on my own) an option under SD card to format the disk and after doing that to all camera disks all 8 cameras started retaining history like they did before. Their Customer Service Support never even mentioned this option to try! Apparently their upgrade did something to mess up the disks.
However, to access the history now takes FOREVER and is so labor intensive you better really want to review history to make it worth the amount of time you will now spend to go back in time.
Also they removed the camera options to adjust sharpness, contrast, brightness!! What the heck!!

Good camera wish the app was better

We struggled to get this app connected to our wifi initially but my husband managed to successfully get it all worked out eventually. Now we have the app on three different devices to monitor our baby’s room but I’ve noticed that notifications aren’t reliable. Sometimes they come in all at once, back to back and sometimes I will go retrieve my baby from her crib and have zero notifications for going into the room and talking to her and picking her up. I have resorted to using my 6+ year old Samsung monitor - it never fails to notify me when she cries or even whimpers. Our wifi is excellent at home, so I don’t understand why the camera will just black out on the monitoring end from time to time. When this happens I have to close out the app and re open it to connect to the camera again. There is a delay in the image and the sound never works on our devices. I have adjusted the setting for this but it doesn’t work. I get that this is a very affordable camera and I appreciate that, but it is nearly useless for baby monitoring purposes since the notifications are unreliable and the camera will randomly not connect from time to time until you exit and re enter the app. Wish the app would get updated and work better.

Not user friendly and what the heck?!

It’s just so confusing. The only thing I can seem to do is move the camera from side to side and speak to whoever is outside. Somehow, I removed the devices from the cloud storage continuous recording and there seems to be NO WAY whatsoever to add them back so I guess I’m just paying monthly for absolutely nothing .. & isn’t there supposed to be some kind of customer service option ?? Well it’s nowhere to be found in the app … I’m over it. Should’ve kept doing more research n cameras . I need cameras after being a sexual assault survivor and the individual coming to my house thus knowing where I live.. I need to be able to record if he comes by and breaks the protection order again . Can’t even do that !

doesn’t record consistently

Update: Note i have motion and sound detection on! So it human detection. We’ve had several instances where people were at the front door for extended periods of time or heard very loud bang at our door and yet the camera did not record anything at the time or even after. It seems to record randomly rather than with movement or sound, regardless of settings. It’s pointless for us to pay for the cloud when it never records the vital things we need! However if you just want to be able to look in at what’s going on and see things live, it’s great. we have had no problems viewing live with this app.
For example i just went outside. Stood there for quite awhile moving around. Prepared a wet food dish for the cat. Called the cat. Came nsode. Looked out window a minute later and cat was outside eating. I wanted to see where she came from (her bed on the porch, for example? or from around the corner). There is no video. the last video stopped 10 minutes before I had gone outside. It did not record me hanging out right in front of the camera nor the cat arriving! What a waste! Total fail for security.

Auto black and white, even in bright room

I always have issues with this camera. From it flipping upside down on the ceiling without changing it, no color, massive delay. We have 2 other brands and I’ve never had a problem. This cam was fine until all of a sudden the auto setting feature records on dark black and white, no infrared light working so you can’t see ANYTHING and if you switch to day the color comes on but you sure won’t see that at night in a dark room. Doesn’t matter light, no light, inside or outside… auto is b/w. Ever since last update 2 weeks ago… it has sucked majorly. I’m so disappointed. I have cams for our safety and medical issues… I couldn’t retrieve the data to show the doctor an episode… it’s all black and white and the infrared doesn’t work. iPhone 11, latest version. And I pay a monthly fee to store this crap footage?

Notifications

If you turn on any kind of detection and it senses something, you’ll get nonstop notifications back to back to back until it’s gone. If it’s a windy day and light makes shadows, it will not stop sending notifications. I wish there was an easy ignore/pause button or we could adjust the sensitivity or amount of notifications. I was at work today and it was windy outside, didn’t have time to fudge around in the settings and delete the notification setting. Had to silence my phone and take off my Apple Watch because it literally wouldn’t stop vibrating. When I had a chance to check my phone I had 72 notifications from the app in probably an hour period? That’s way too much!! When I did figure out how to turn it off, it took several steps to get to that camera’s setting (I have a set of 4) and delete the entire schedule I set up. Besides this issue, I love the cameras. Just wish it wasn’t so sensitive to something as simple as light filtering through the blinds. I have it set to “human detection”, not motion/sound, but it’s still extremely sensitive and the notifications are killing me. I bought these cameras for security, so there’s no point if I have to constantly disable it.

If I could give zero stars I would

I bought one camera and then a second one. I paid for the cloud service for camera 1 and was told it would automatically work for the second. When I linked the second camera it made me buy the cloud service for it. I did then I lost the cloud service for the first camera and all the recorded footage.
I messaged tech support and they are absolutely horrible. No refund no solution and they do not even acknowledge that their own app says that buying cloud service will work for all cameras. I’ve demanded a refund but they “can’t find the invoice” so I have to send them an invoice or proof of payment. hmm sounds fishy and a scam, yeah let me just send you my bank info…. The app seems likes it’s ran by a bunch of 10 year olds.
Save yourself the headache and get a real camera system. I threw theirs in the trash and bought ring cameras.

Updates are getting better

Last week there was a 2 day outage. I thought it was the end. But it is back up. It would be nice if there was a place where one can check for system status and not leave folks hanging trying to figure out what is happening. That said, the ap is getting better and better and I like the improvements. One thing I would like to see is the option for advance users to directly connect to the cameras without having to use a server in between. This way one that is local to the network will appreciate better performance and much better responses to PTZ commands. PTZ is still the only remaining issue that I see. It lags and causes freezing from time to time.

WORKED FINE FOR AWHILE

I bought two Contico cameras and used this app to connect to them through my home Wi-Fi. It worked great for about 6 months and then yesterday both cameras are now offline. My router shows they are still connected but when I try to view what they see on my phone the app tells me the network is not available. Same for my wife’s phone. We tried everything to reconnect them. Rebooted the router/modem, deleted and reinstalled the app, even cleared one camera back to factory settings. The app recognizes that we did that last step because it removed the assigned name we had given that camera, but it will not let me reconnect to it, and still shows the other camera offline as well. I suspect the app is the problem.

Problem since new update

Unfortunately this great camera is being totally messed up by a very poorly made app. The apps functions aren’t even the issue either as when the app is actually working, the function of the app work just fine for me and have for about 4 years now. However where my issue lies is with the constant reliability of it actually logging me in and turning on properly. It’s really just been a problem more so in this last year and I know for a face it is not my network but I’m fact the apps server itself. After the most recent update I have had the most issues down to the point where all 3 of my cameras are useless at the moment and I use them for my business as I am a dog trainer and use them for sanctioned separation practice. I’ve used these cameras for years to assist both puppies and adult dogs to get over separation anxiety to live happier more comfortable lives. Unfortunately I am unable to continue using these since just yesterday where I wasn’t having issues all month and week. Literally after updating yesterday, I’ve regretted it because I now currently can’t use any of my 3 cameras. Please fix your server and create a new update to correct ASAP! Otherwise I will need to change to a new company and I will leave my review at 1 *
If bugs are fixed, I will absolutely update my review to something positive.

Great cameras. Mia customer service

Love these cameras. Amazing quality images and love that I can use them from anywhere. My only complaint is that my password to login to the account itself (not the cameras) is saying it’s incorrect and I can’t figure out how to reset it (no options) and there are no customer service sections to figure out where to go for help with this. Would be 5 star if that was fixed because I really do love it otherwise.
Update: oct 2021- love this when it works but the server has been down for over a day, no where to contact customer service and camera are literally completely useless without a way to access them. Was going to buy another but considering another brand as a backup because when problems arise you literally cannot locate anyone to help.

Just Okay

The app loads faster than another WiFi camera I have, and the picture quality is OK, but the settings don’t work. It tells me the time zone is wrong, but after I set it to the correct setting, it sets itself back to the wrong setting. So I turn off “auto set” in the date/time menu, but the auto set just turns itself back on. Other settings are just as frustrating or unintuitive. I think I’m setting something, like for it to only record if there is motion, but it doesn’t work. Well, it doesn’t work until it does… if you try the same steps over and over and over again, sometimes the settings actually stick. If they can iron out the bugs , I would rate it higher because it’s a fine little camera for the price. The software? Well, you get what you pay for…

Perfect camera but need better sound notification for iphone

The camera has everything you’d want in a security camera.
Good quality images, motion sensor, speakers, loud alarm, recording on low fee cloud server etc.
It’s ALMOST perfect — it’s just missing one thing. When the motion sensor detects motion and their app sends a notification to my phone to alert me, all I can hear is the same soft buzz and notification sound that other app notifications have. If they could simply add a feature where you can change that alert tone to a louder alarm sound, I’d be completely satisfied. In case something happens at night while I’m sleeping, I’d need a much louder alert sound than they have now!
If they changed that one feature, I could completely get rid of my old security system, which costs far more to maintain. Other than that, I am completely satisfied with the product, and could see myself using it as a long term security solution.

Ok when it’s working

With the new update you completely did away with the ability to select all/delete all. It took me 15 minutes to delete two days worth of recordings doing it one at a time which is completely unnecessary. Instead of changing things that don’t need fixing please concentrate on the fact that I can’t turn down motion completely or even turn recording off when it’s not needed and then be able to easily turn it back on and the recording resume. Instead I have to do a factory reset each and every time. The inability to no longer be able to select all videos and delete all at once or delete as many as I want all at once and the issues with having to do a factory reset between uses every single time will most likely have me purchasing something different and more user friendly in the near future.

Works when it wants to

I was excited about this because of the price, but sometimes the “you get what you pay for” saying is really true..it works great when it wants to work. The video quality is constantly changing when I have the fed up to watch it. The motion and sound detections go off for our house doors closing on the other end of the house but not when our baby is sitting up in her bed and talking. It makes no sense. It doesn’t set off the motion when she’s moving around or getting up but it well if a fly flies by it or the shadows move. And now since the latest update yesterday the feed is frozen on the last time I had it open before it updated. Starting to regret wasting my time and money on an inexpensive option.

Why doesn’t it send vibration notifications anymore?

The app work great but for some reason it just recently stopped sending my iOS phone vibration notifications which was the best way to let you know motion or sound detection got triggered if the phone was in your pocket. It used to send vibration without the app open. Now it only sends sound and vibration if the app is open.
I still get push notifications but it’s silent and yea i have already made sure the option to have vibration and sound notifications sent were set correctly in both the phone and the app.
Please fix this as it makes the functionality so much better since i cant always be looking at my phone to see the csipent push notifications.

Great for 2 years

I have had this camera for 2 years. Got it for a nanny cam and then it changed to a security camera and a nanny cam. However, the last couple of weeks, the app keeps kicking me out. So I can not view this in the live format. It’s SOOOO aggravating!!! I’ve tried it on an old phone and it works just fine on it. Unfortunately, I’m not interested in carrying 2 phones with me all the time.... and that phone is old and doesn’t have service anymore! So I can’t even do that if I wanted too!!
The camera it’s self is still very good tho!! I love the night view and the brilliant day view! It’s zoom is very helpful in watching up close when the baby is sleeping!!
Gave 4 stars because of the app issues. Not due to the camera itself.

The app is too basic/too limited

Installed Conico bullet outdoor camera couple days ago. Camera and the app work... however motion detection is very basic. It seems to work by contrast change - I get tons of useless recordings with no visible motion, triggered by shadows or head lights of passing cars - while dark cars passing over my blacktop driveway 12-15 feet away are not being detected.
I thought I could deactivate few zones to decrease unneeded motion detection, but this app is so basic that there is no such option. All other makers I saw have zoning functionality.
And, of course, I believe my recordings are mine. Yet, the app and the manufacturer make users jump through hoops to download their own videos. Bummer.
Gave two-stars review as camera and the app work. Disappointed that decent camera’s potential is so limited by the app.

Decent when it works

When is the key word in my review title. We have used this camera and app for two years now. Haven’t switch because we don’t have a ton of money, and it was a gift.
The sound quality is really bad when talking into the phone to be heard in the camera. It doesn’t sound like the person at all.
The camera is unreliable. You never know if it is going to be working or not. You could have the best internet connection that is strong and fast but it may or may not still work. You can try unplugging it, but again there is know way of knowing if that is going to work at all.
Oh, if you want to rotate the camera be careful. It way or may not work but when it does suddenly work it will move really fast before stalling. It gives you an opportunity to get a close view of the wall as you struggle to get a view of your baby.

Sound is acting weird on otherwise great camera

I have had this camera for over a year and I love it, it was a gift from someone and I have it mounted in my living room.
Recently I noticed a problem with the volume/sound. When I click my camera to view, and click on the “speaker” icon, sometimes the sound will come on very softly, but will quickly fade. Other times, no sound can be heard at all until I go into the “settings” and adjust the sound volumes for the microphone and the camera up to level “100”. Then when I go back to the live stream, the volume will be VERY loud, so I’ll have to turn it down, but when I do, instead of the camera following my clicking the volume button down 2 times, the camera’s volume will continue to go down until it is silent once again.
I checked the Firmware version, and every time I check, it says I have the most up-to-date version, so I don’t know what to do in order to get the volume working correctly again. I love this camera and I can’t find this exact version online anymore. Please help!
Otherwise this is a great camera overall. I have an SD card in it so I get to save about 24 hour’s worth of footage at a time. The clarity is awesome, even at night, and I love that I can talk to my kids through it when I’m not home.

Worthless

Their web site doesn't exist. The app doesn't work. It's crazy how terrible this app is. I’ve had this camera/app for about two years and have updated the app many times. I’ve got lots of experience and I’ve done loads of testing.
1. Motion detection has been around a long time. These guys can’t figure it out. This app will record absolutely nothing over and over again. But you can walk in front of the camera and wave, and it won’t record that. It’s hard to believe that a “security” camera could be so worthless.
2. After recording dozens of videos of absolutely nothing, try deleting them. It’s a three step process for each and every one. There is no way to multi-select all of them (or even some of them) and delete in bulk.
3. The thumbnails are often ghost images of a previous day, month, or even location! So you can’t trust the thumbnail. That means you have to open every video and snapshot to see what’s really there.
I could go on and on about the app itself, but those are the highlights. If the goal is to sit in front of a monitor all day and watch, then this camera isn’t bad. But any thief could strip down and dance in front of your camera and this app would miss it. Like I said: completely worthless!!!

Potentially great app

Maybe this app was not good before but as of now it pretty much does the job. I was hesitant in the beginning but it works! Video quality is great! Yes, there are some features needs to be improved in the app, but all basic features work perfectly! Just make sure to read the instructions! Especially when it comes importing the videos from the card! You can't just insert the card and read the content. You need to have their software. Through that software you import. One thing must be improved and that is "motion detection". Not sure if that's software or hardware issue, but it has some glitches. Please keep improving the app! I already recommended to my friends.
Also, I'm bit concerned about privacy issues. Please improve the security of your server. There's no word about how secure is your server. Anyone with the password can login and watch! How secure is your service? Do you use 128 or 256 or any other encryption?

3/5 Gets the job done!

I bought this camera for safety purposes. It does not record 24/7, but you can check in. I have a baby so this is comforting while he is babysat. I can speak and they can easily hear me but the 2-way is iffy sometimes, it lags. Fine! It is not too expensive so I don’t expect it to be perfect. The camera quality is great, you can definitely make out who/what you’re looking at.
I connected this camera with a breeze the first time. When I bought a new router it was so hard to connect but all you need to do is delete this app and restart setup again. That will save your sanity ☺️🤗 Altogether 3/5 ⭐️s!
I wish it recorded and the 2-way speaker could use some work but you get a bang for your buck and I just love the rotating capability! It covers a wide range of the home.

Firmware update crashes camera

Every time there is a firmware update, the camera crashes and you have to go through the complete setup process again! This is unacceptable. Who does that? This camera would be a good deal if it wasn’t for that issue. I can understand if a firmware update requires a simple reboot, but to go through the full setup process again is just BAD coding. And, you can’t bypass the pop-up notification. It pops up every time you open the camera app unless you tap ‘yes’ and go through that frustrating process! The other issue is that you can only view one camera at a time. On an iPad you should be able to view multiple cameras in real-time but sadly, not with this app.

This app/camera has good days and bad days.
Most recent update to the app has constantly caused crashes. The home screen shows a "still shot" from all 4 cameras from 2 days ago. Won't pull up records. Have to restart to view live constantly. Why'd you mess things up!?
Now on to the most recent camera update... JUNK, why mess up something good? Now the cameras drop wifi constantly and just to get it back working I've got to pull down the cameras to access the reset button on the bottom which is where the brackets connect to hold the camera. Pain in the.... on top of that there is no promise it will connect to wifi even after deleting the camera and starting all over again. I had no issues from my cameras for months until this most recent sabotaged update. I've been a customer over 2 years. Just bought camera #5 two weeks ago and I can't put it where it needs to go cause it keeps losing wifi and not getting it back or won't even let me see the live stream within the app.
PLEASE FIX, then leave it alone!
Stop trying to fix what's not broken.

It’s decent

Overall I’m getting what I want, but I would love to know if there’s a way to make it so every time it records it isn’t a full 30 min recording. Also, how the heck can I delete multiple videos at one time? At the end of the day, deleting dozens of videos one at a time is very tedious. The picture is good and it was a very easy setup, and I’m not great with computer type things normally. It was easier than another slightly more expensive camera that is more popular. Great price for a decent product. I do wish it came with a brochure or info of where I could find out how to use each menu and what certain things mean. Tried looking at app support link but it’s all in Chinese and I can’t tell if it’s possible to change to English!

Go back to the basics

The app used to be easy to use. Tap on the specific camera I wanted to see (full screen after this point WITHOUT any advertisements), then double tap to zoom or spread my fingers to see closer.
NOW when you want to go full screen, the screen flips 90 degrees and double tap doesn't work to zoom. Sometimes the camera lags when you try to spread your fingers which starts swinging the camera around. Need I mention how I'm NOW getting advertisements for something that I already purchased?
I have this app on other phones, but they have older versions. I would never consider updating them due to the "improved updates". I also would never recommend this brand or purchase anymore cameras from this manufacturer if the supporting app stays like this. Lastly, is there a better response other than sorry for the inconvenience?

Great cameras and app!

I purchased 5 of these cameras back in 2015 when I open my dog business. I wasn’t expecting a high quality experience, I just needed it to check that the dogs were behaving and not causing any destruction in their rooms. Basically, to make sure everybody was safe, breathing and the rooms were still in one piece. They were inexpensive enough, which is what I needed when I first built my business and my plan was to then upgrade to higher quality cameras with a hard drive for storage when a successful business was established. These cameras have seen thousands of dogs in the past 5 years and I have no intention of upgrading them to a different brand. I’ve watched the dogs sleeping, listened to them snoring with the audio and given them a firm “NO” through the microphone if they were doing something they shouldn’t have been. 2 of the cameras no longer pan and tilt due to me dropping them on the cement floor, but they still do everything else I need them to, and no issues with connectivity or viewing on my devices. I have not checked into the cloud storage but that’s what I’m going to be doing today and why I finally decided to write a review after all this times since I’m seeing a lot of negative reviews when I came to the App Store to update the app.

2 Days and it better get better!

The app is slow to respond to the camera. The app freezes up and requires rebooting. When trying to use the intercom the push to talk freezes. When it’s day time and on AUTO it defaults to NIGHT vision. I have the
COOAU 4 4 mega-pixel HD footage (2624 pixels x 1512 pixels) at 30fps using a high definition 1/3 inch industrial CMOS image sensor with a 5 megapixel lens and 8-fold digital zoom technology. they are great for the price. One is issue is they turn towards the wall when on AUTO detection for motion. Kind of useless when the camera is not covering the rooms. And it is in the LatesT software as I e checked multiple times hoping for a fix to all issues. Oh well

Not worth the trouble

I wish I could give a good rating but I have owned the cameras and used this app for 2+ years. The older version constantly kept crashing and I would have a hard time even getting the cameras to load. Sometimes I would sit there for 20 minutes waiting for it to load with no success. And the newer version is just as bad, if not worse. When signing in and picking which camera to look at the sound doesn’t work loud enough so I have to close it and reopen it. And the I tap the sound to turn it on but it takes almost 10 tries to get it to turn on. In the middle of the night I wake up and the camera has turned off and i have to run a diagnostic on it just to get it to work for about 30 minutes and right back to the same problem.
Honestly, I have had more trouble with it than it’s worth. I think I will be buying another brand.

Lots of issues

I recently purchase two of these cameras to watch over my dogs. I was able to properly add one camera to the app but now it won’t let me add the second one and gives me a “your mobile phone must be connected to WiFi” which it is... additionally I have had issue where the camera I have added randomly goes offline and when I tried to restart it it actually completely froze my phone and couldn’t do anything. If y’all were to actually take the time to make this app better it would probably be the best camera for its price.
Update: I somehow managed to get the camera added but now both of my cameras are having issues staying online. There is no issue with my WiFi yet they both end up offline at one point or the other. And reconfiguring them are a real pain. Really need to work on the app.

Camera is awesome - App is to be desired

We use our cameras as baby monitors, they have all the functions you could need or want and they work pretty great especially for the price. My issue is with the app, it is always saying the cameras are not connected, or it freezes... it seems to get worse as time goes on. We use them for 3 different bedrooms with children ages 3yo, 2yo, 1yo and there is always an issue. It is extremely frustrating. I am now needing to look into an entirely different system because they are so unreliable. I have used this for 3 years and had intermittent issues but now, within the last week nothing seems to work to correct whatever issue is occurring. The app always shuts down and I won’t know during the night and have no eyes or ears on the kids rooms because the app has shut down. Then I can’t open the app at all so I need to manually go upstairs to check the kids. In the beginning I had nothing but good things to say about the system but now it has become so unreliable I am just so disappointed. I don’t want to get a new system but at this point I don’t see a choice. Love the fact I have access to multiple cameras, I love the features of the cameras, but the app uggggggghhhhh driving me insane.

I never write a review for apps but this one tops the cake. The camera is great but ”THIS APP” is absolutely terrible. It always crashes, takes forever to load, the audio always turns off in its own, the two-way audio is trash. It was working just okay and then after being forced to upgrade to the latest version the live camera feed will not show and keeps saying that the network is unavailable. I’ve disconnect reconnect restarted reboot and whatever. My WiFi is working and says connected. NOTHING seems to fix the issue. It’s like the gave an update for a hardware that doesn’t support the new update. I’ve only had the camera for two months! Now it was a waste of money and a waste of time. Stay away from anything that uses this app. THIS IS B.S.! I AM VERY DISAPPOINTED!!

Disappointed

I wanted to like this app and it has such great potential but there’s clearly too many bugs for the developers to sort out. I’ve been using for almost a year now and it cuts out literally 3-5 times a day... literally every day. It goes offline on its own for no reason, constantly asks to run diagnostics tests that take forever and always switches my time zone on its own.. and funny enough when it relentlessly prompts me to change my time zone back because it detects the wrong time zone for my location, my own has magically disappeared from the list so now I can’t even remedy the situation but instead have to constantly see this stupid banner or prompt on my screen. Not functional at all, definitely going to be looking for different alternatives to use in the future

You can’t delete clips in bulk >:(

The software is functional but also extremely basic when it comes to deleting recordings, you have to manually select each recording and select delete, so if you have the motion detection on and your cat walks by the camera a 100 times, you have to select each of the 100 clips to delete!! You can’t select all or a group to erase in bulk. I have a million clips saved that I can’t just erase without reformatting or using my pc and I don’t even know if the pc software will allow that because I don’t have time for all of that.
Also, my Camera goes to sleep on its own? I have it on my fireplace mantel with motion detection on and I often find it just looking at the wall behind it ?!? therefore no longer tracking anything. Anywhere I moved it it would end up “parking” at a ceiling or other place where there was no activity which makes it unreliable for security.

This product and app are great when they work, and the video quality is a dream for the price! I’ve had the same problems reported by other users including frequent crashing and needing reboot. We also use as a baby monitor, and our place is small and baby’s room is right next to ours so we’re comfortable relaying in other resources to support our monitoring of him... like our own eyes and ears! We’ve also noticed it’s more sensitive to our cat and the mobile in baby’s room than it is to baby actually moving around at night. I
Most recently, there has been a diagnostic run almost every time I open the app, with an accompanying message saying this could take up to 2 minutes and don’t do anything else on your phone until it completes... 😲 I’m not clear in what the diagnostic is actually doing, as the language in the prompts isn’t clear or intuitive (maybe better translation is needed), and if it’s every once in a while, that’s fine, but when it’s not optional and I just want to look at my baby, it’s pretty frustrating. I’ve seen the developer response to contact support, but I just want to point out that ain’t nobody got time for a run-around game with app support on one of a hundred apps. The feedback is pretty clear in this case.

CAUTION!! DO NOT USE FOR SAFETY MONITORING!

I purchased these cameras to provide monitoring for my elderly father. I was under the impression these cameras would provide proper alerts and the ability to closely monitor him when I was not able to see him. NOT THE CASE!!!! The camera freezes on several occasions throughout the days! I only receive random alerts. I did an update and from that evening to the next morning, ALL THREE OF THE CAMERAS ARE OFFLINE AND THE SCREENS ARE ALL BLACK! I have reset, uninstalled, reinstalled, and repeated this process several times! Still no solution. I have contacted the company and no response to date. HERE’S MY BIGGEST ISSUE.. MY FATHER FELL AND LAID ON THE FLOOR FOR 20 MINUTES BEFORE HE WAS DISCOVERED AND RECEIVED MEDICAL AID!!! THE CAMERA WAS FROZEN AND NEVER ALERTED OR PICKED UP HIS FALL!!! My suggestion for this Company and this APP is to indicate this product is not reliable, therefore to not use as a safety monitoring system. GOOD LUCK TRYING TO GET SUPPORT TO REPLY! In reading the other posts, folks who are using this system for safety monitoring should do so with EXTREME CAUTION!! This issue is a huge lawsuit waiting to happen! CAUTION! CAUTION! CAUTION!

So incredibly frustrating

The camera is great but this app that you HAVE to use with it drives me crazy. It crashes all the time, and most of the settings do not work properly. For example, I have it set to alarm me and record when there is “an unusual amount of movement” near the placement of the camera. Well, I guess a car driving by my house is an unusual amount of movement, as I am getting alerts 10-15 times per minute. However, when someone came right onto my porch to deliver a package, I didn’t get any notification. I paid for icloud storage so it would record when there is a motion alert, and yet it doesn’t record. I am constantly getting a notification that there is an update, but when I click, no update. Do yourself a favor and buy a different camera that uses different software.

Good Camera, Bad App

Got this camera for our dogs. It replaced the YI Home camera that I had before.
Video quality is good but really miss the camera motion tracking on the Yi Home. This one you need to move manually.
My biggest complaint is the app. Very poorly written and even the grammar is poor. My number one complaint is the motion detection. Very counter intuitive. It won’t work unless you set a schedule and turn it on. You can’t just turn it on and have it work. Need to set a time period. Also after I was having issues I turned off the motion detection. But even after that my phone was blowing up with alerts even after it was turned off. Very annoying. Nothing was recording either. Deleted camera/app and trying again. If I still have problems, I’ll be retuning it. Don’t like the fact that support is via email or overseas phone calls too.

OK Camera

I’m currently using the camera as a baby monitor, and I can say the picture quality is amazing! I also love that a simple swipe moves the lens to where you want it to go... The night vision is very high quality as well! Here’s for the not so good things.. I was excited to have 2 way audio, but I’m unable to get it to work.. The pop up on the screen says to hold the button down, but it does not work and my daughter cannot hear me. I also leave it on all night streaming live, but when I wake up in the mornings sometimes it’s been frozen for quite a while or the screen is just black with an error message. Also, as another poster mentioned it would be nice if the app sound could run in the background so that you can go to other apps and still be able to hear the live stream of the monitor..

Good when it works

This is a great camera and app when it works. The app crashes constantly - closing down randomly or freezing. The camera pops offline at least once a day requiring a reboot. Unfortunately, the reboot makes a loud noise at the camera - not great when your baby is sleeping. We've used the camera on 6 phones and two separate wifi setups with the same issues.
We bought an audio monitor as the camera app is completely unreliable. It is a good secondary option to look in to see what the baby is doing and nice to be able to pull it up from anywhere. For the price, the video is great, particularly the night vision. Just wish the programming was stable.

Highly recommended

Lots of times people forget to compliment when something actually works well. I’m guilty of that now, hence this review! :) We’ve had this app for 2 years this month and have never once had an issue with it. We use it intermittently to check on our dogs and home when we’re away. Views are clear, and all our needs are covered (visibility of the image, day / night adjustments, sound — which isn’t the best, but that’s not what this camera is for — get an Echo Show or something if that’s what you’re looking for). Thank you to the developers for continually updating the app; without it, our camera would be useless.

Really like the app

I use the camera and app for a baby monitor. It works great. I love the night vision option and that it will automatically transition depending on the lighting. The app itself is a little difficult to use. Not hard to figure out, but it doesn’t flow nicely and isn’t very visually appealing. The functionality is great. I do think videos and pictures should be saved to the phone or tablet rather than a folder within the app.
There are some spelling issues within the app. When taking a photo, the word “Snapshotting” only has 1 T at the moment. It needs 2. (Sorry, I have been an editor for many years!)
I think a picture-in-picture option would be beneficial so users can access other apps on their phones or tablets but still see camera.

So Frustrating !!

The camera we have is a IP camera and it worked perfectly when we got it. Connected to the internet and worked great. Then our internet box decided to quit working, so we had to get s new one. Which now has a new WiFi and password. Now I’m trying to set up the camera once again and it’s not registering at all! I have deleted the app and re installed it twice. At one point it prompted me to manually add the camera. That worked to recognize the camera but it wouldn’t connect to the internet. Now it’s not letting me connect it manually like before! The only option is to use the QR scan and it won’t pick up the device whatsoever. Does any one know what other apps work better ?! I hate that I can’t use this camera as it wasn’t cheap! All because of an app not working properly!

Terrible application. Waste of time & money

I've owned this for over 10 months. The camera device is great, however for alert/motion capture notification doesn't work. That was okay because I used this to monitor my animals when I'm away. At first the installation was smooth and running. Now the errors begin, I changed my internet service and prompted to reprogram the wifi to this MIPC. It failed to read and connect to the new wifi. Then I deleted the app & device from my phone to re-download both. Failed again, and all my attempts to reset and connect directly to my router still didn't read. In all this device for security monitoring was fine at first and went down hill for just reprogramming the wifi. I would recommend purchasing a reliable phone app that doesn't crash and has been tested considerably.

What happened????

I've been using these cameras and this app for two years. It's not the greatest as I've never been able to get any of the 5 cameras to actually alert me to motion detection or even capture pics or video like it says it will. But I could still see all my animals which was the most important. Then all of a sudden this morning all my devices disappeared from my app and when I try to re-add them it says it's been added but it still doesn't show up. I've powered off my phone and iPad, that didn't help. I deleted the app and reinstalled it and that didn't help. I clicked on "App Support" and it brings you to a website that no longer exists!!! I've spent over $500 on these cameras if I'm not going to be able to use them anymore because of this faulty app I'm going to be very mad.
