The program includes 3 free interactive object sets that can be loaded on any flying field when flying helicopters. The interactive objects can be used to learn landing and precise model control.
In addition to the fixed point camera that represents the RC pilot point of view, we have included follow up camera that follows the model. That is useful when you just start, so the model never gets away.
Notes:
1. This is not a game. You are controlling flying RC models that reacts like real flying models. It takes some time to learn, and again, do not expect "arcade" style controls.
2. The onscreen control sticks are just indicators! They are made small so they do not obscure the screen.

Sliding your finger any where on the right screen half affects the right control stick , the same for the left screen part - sliding finger there moves the left control stick.

Great Free App
I have flown several different model R/C planes for many years and find this app to be very realistic and a very good simulator. It has its limits but then its free for the expanded basics and 2 planes, if I want/more I'll buy the full app. Some free R/C apps don't offer half of what this one offers. I do agree however that this price is a bit high, maybe $9.99 to $14.99 max would be a good price and after trying it I would be inclined to buy it for that price but not for $19.99 at least not yet? Overall it's functions are great and again very realistic and true to flying a real R/C plane.

The import feature is good but..
Ok so this import feature is very good but...first of all I have problems about the planes I imported. They either crash instantly even though I didn't even throttle up all the way and when I tap fly,it glitches I can't even fly the plane so please fix it. by the way this is far more better than realflight mobile.😄😄

Great app
Considering RC soon. Great way to train the brain for control inputs. As a real life pilot, flying the plane from the ground is not intuitive. It's more muscle memory with the fingers as related to the attitude of the airplane.
Lots of fun and $$$ cheaper than busting models at the field.

This app would be the best rc simulator in the entire app store if all of the locations and models were way cheaper, pica sim, (which is another simulator) is $4.99 dollars and offers 26 different models and 10 different locations. yours has better graphics but for the same price you are able to buy only two models or less, im sorry but I would choose picasim.

Latest update removed ads!
Latest update seems to have removed the troublesome ads that appeared over viewing area! Thanks for listening! This is the best RC plane app I've come across. I use it to practice before I fly my real RC planes. Helps your brain get use to steering as the plane is flying away from or towards you in flight. The trainer flies very closely to my real trainer.

Update adds HUGE ad banner across top during gameplay!
I used to love this app and even recommended it to others for its realism. That said, I updated it today and all of a sudden there is a HUGE banner ad across the top even during gameplay! Are you kidding me? Yes I realize the need to subsidize free apps, however this is just ridiculous. At least I had some fun while it lasted...

Love the app but....
Am I the only one finding the directions to import clearview rc model files rather lacking. I have tried a few times and it will show the model in my hanger when I go to select a plane, but there is not a actual plane on the ground. Sticks are there and movable, but no plane. ?

A pretty good game
This is a very fun game to play around with with its amazing realism and variety of things to do. There is one issue I have, however. I wish that there were more things that a person could play around with in this game without having to pay for it, for you have to pay in order to play with the other 90% of the vehicles and maps. Otherwise, a good game.

how greedy can an app developer be? I actually bought the clear view RC sim for my PC. it is fairly good. then I got this for my iOS phone. terrible. app now has adds and a large banner ad all the time now. I understand trying to make money but this is obnoxious. the actual non free app is 4.99 and over a year old. if they offered a version discounted to their customers who own the PC version that would be good business. check out the picasim app. it's 2.99. has tons of models. and their PC version is free!! dump this one and get picasim.

Not half bad!
Like the title says, it's not half bad! You get the typical trainer RC Cub & a beautiful field for free. Really, that's all you need to have fun, but there's sever other planes you can buy. Overall, its as close to the real RC experience as you'll get on an iPhone. 3/5 for extra planes being so expensive!

Fun simulator but issues on iPad Air 2
I enjoy the simulator especially on bad weather days when I can't go out and fly my RC craft however I have found a issue with the B17 at desert island. When you click the how to control message to clear it off the screen the planes flips into the air and lands on its back. This is in version 3.07. I tried to email the developer via the provided email link and was given a undeliverable message in return. Not sure if anyone else has had the same issue or not.

Based on the coaxial I wasnt sure if this was gonna be a good sim but got the Trex 500 added onto the free version for $2.99 and it flies awesome. Having real sticks would be better but this is gonna get me where I need to be to fly a micro cp in 3d without shredding it and move to the next level from there. I love that I can practice anytime. Thanks for making this available.

A great stepping stone to getting in the air!
This app has been incredibly helpful to familiarize yourself with 4,5 and 6 channel controls. Not only does it give you the characteristics of many scale planes but it also teaches you to fly with your head in the cockpit so you always use the correct inputs when the plane is flying away from you or towards you. Terrific app! It can only be better if they add a Corsair (hint-hint)

I'm rating you 5 stars because by and large it's a great app! I did however just get the B-17 and it will not fly on the Island, and won't show the runways on those fields with runways... I must assume that it's just a glitch and that you guys will take care of it... I did try to go to your help site and was unable to connect to it... Would I suggest this app... Not only would I... I have already!!!

Great start for a trainer
Our company flies drones, both fixed wing and rotors. This fixed wing app is great for basic training and would highly recommend it to anyone starting out in the UAV industry. We make sure our pilots have at least 20 hours of simulator before flying our birds.
Some ideas to improve it:
1: add info for basic flight data like altitude & speed. A horizon dial for bank and turns when you are above the window plane to see the horizon (where it's all sky)
2. Add a (logbook) to keep track of number of flight, safe landings and crashes (that can't be cleared)
All this information, for the serious pilot, will want to transfer to a logbook system which is required to keep by our FAA.... Or if you want to get hired someday by a private company.
Add those items and you'll have a fantastic program!

Like but not fully recommended.
This is one of my most favorite apps and one of the few that I have invested money on.
But I would not recommend it for the following reasons..
1- The desert island crashes some of the paid planes like the messerschmitt and the kurtis
2- the rudder does not function on the updates like before and is almost useless
3- some planes just crash spontaneously even after settling their wheels on the ground and without bumping into obstacles or bouncing on the ground
4- there is an extra button on the choppers that God knows what its there for
5- some models are a waste of money. They fly terrible and look terrible as well in 3D
6- some fields are very tricky and are hard to figure their ground level
7- pilot camera is disappointing. It should be from a cockpit view or over it to show at least part of the plane for guidance
8- removing the fixed view was a mistake in the updates. It is better than the auto zoom view specially during landings
9- the thunderbolt is missing its right wing gear (only the wheel is visible)
My suggestions to the developers:
1- fix the issues mentioned
2- make a switch view button that can be used while flying for better rc experience
3- add more ww1 and ww2 models
4- add more 3d fields with various terrains and landing strips
5- add altitude meter beside the speed meter
6- space between the flaps and gear
7- remove the reflections on the planes they look glassy and not realistic to rc

Disappointing
Although the plane I purchased is very nice and the graphics are acceptable, there is poor control of the RC aircraft. I only purchased one plane to start and there are many to choose from. But because the controls are poor and not adjustable, I won't buy anymore until they are improved. I have another similar app the works very well. I hope there will be an updated improvement to this app soon.

Went from good App to Crap!
Don't advertise that the app works on IOS 5.0 and over when it clearly does not! MANY people are having the same issue since the last updates yet developer tells me it's because my IOS isn't updated? Either update the requirements or get Apple to show you how to fix it! As far as I'm concerned this went from a good app to useless! Crash longs don't lie and you fixed something that wasn't broke. You owe we the $ for three plane packs and Apple clearly needs to get involved on this one!
I'm not a competitor and tried to communicate with the developers support several times. I'm a customer that's glad I didn't purchase more than the three planes I had paid money for!
Anyone out there NOT having issues since they updated the App?

App doesn't work anymore
I'll echo other reviews. I used to really like this app, it worked great. After an update over a year ago, it now just crashes immediately. I can't even open it anymore. I try every other month or so to see if it works but it still crashes immediately. I have an original iPad that the iOS is updated as much as possible. This app is supposed to work with my iOS but it doesn't. It's too bad because when working, it was a good simulator.

Total fun!
I had a little trouble getting the sim working after the latest iOS update, but after connecting to wifi it fixed itself. This sim is so enjoyable to fly ( the boat and car are fun as well! ) My favorite is the A-10 and I use this for flying on the iPad2 as an air show. I don't fly RC planes but have a great time with this app. Thanks for the fun product.

I loved the game when I first downloaded it and liked playing it bc it had the follow camera up close to the planes it was like you were really flying the planes then after the updates the camera was far away from the planes making it harder to land and judge your height and crash please bring back the follow camera to the back of the planes

Pretty darn good
A handy sim to train for real RC. The addition of flaps and gear are cool, but the planes now float too much to be realistic sim. My Ultimate and P51 never float. The airspeed seems too slow too. Unfortunately the flying fields' visual perspective does not equate with the flight path of the plane. You can fly through buildings and fences but crash when you think you are not near obstacles. The background often has no relation to the flight parameters.

RC Simulator Updated for IOS 8!
As of 3 October 2014, This app has been updated for iOS 8! It now operates in landscape format, as it had prior to iOS 8. With that in mind, I have returned my evaluation to 5 stars. My previous report, which appears below, now applies to the update. Via emaiI I have thanked the developer for responding to the recommendations of the many who, along with me, requested the format change.

This is a very realistic simulator for those who are accomplished RC pilots and also for those who want to learn the basics of RC flying while not running the risk of ruining their hours of building RC planes. Clearly, it is a trainer, not a game. It is not for persons who want to "fly in the cockpit," nor should it be.
The speed indicator is normally not available to RC pilots, and really doesn't belong in a simulator such as this one. It's also poorly located on the screen. If the developers of the App want to keep it, then it should be relocated so that the operator's right thumb won't obscure the display.

This game was awesome before the update... I had bought several planes, and it seems as tho, the Montana is the most effected by it... We've all paid for these extra planes to learn.. Now, the Montana was just money out the window.. If your looking for an rc simulator to advance your 3d flying skills, I do not recommend this app. If the 3d capabilities are returned to their previous condition, great app... If not, then I'll not b spending anymore money on planes that won't do what their supposed to... Don't waste your money or time on this app, as is..

Please fix the Montana 3-D !!!
I do enjoy the added models , and the ability to select gear or flaps on some models also. However, the different flight characteristics on some of the aircraft is not as good as it used to be. The nose is too heavy on several models and there is not enough elevator control to keep the nose up for hovering. The A380 is now way to nose heavy and the Montana 3-D is just a big mess now. The Montana used to fly so good but now it's almost impossible to hover.

I love flying rc airplanes but there are the times when the weather isn't on my side or my plane got hurt. But...... With this app, the weather is always on my side and my plane never gets hurt. Also, I love the other things I can do. I can buy other planes, boats, cars and helicopters. I can also change the wind speed and where the fun takes place. Absolutely awesome. A must have.👍👍👍❤️❤️❤️

I tried out this app to see if it would help flying my MotionRc super sportster plane. I figured out just a couple flaps and I'm airborne. Really helps with rc models. it also includes boats, cars, and helis. It's like it's happening before your eyes except a crash does not have fire and any crash is not a waste of money . It's a virtual sandbox game kinda.

Great Sim
I bought an rc aircraft wanting to get into flying. Within the first 5 min I busted several props and my landing gear. I found this app repaired my plane and have been on this app everyday. I can now fly and do advanced maneuvers, take off and land in wind gusts up to 12 mph. And all this was learned from this little app. Well worth the download as rc planes and parts are not cheap

Excellent physics, but the landscape/terrain needs help
short review:
In short, the in-flight physics are great, but the scenery/terrain is so bad that it becomes hard to judge distances and altitude. PLEASE FIX THIS! This app would get 5 stars from me if not for that problem.

I've been flying RC aircraft for years, and the in-flight physics seem spot on. But the terrain is pretty much non-existent. As far as I can tell, every airfield is just a flat plane (no pun intended). Any scenery, such as trees, runway, etc., is just a picture laid overtop the flat plane. When you get more than about 100 feet away from the origin, your aircraft appears to sit on top of a two-dimensional picture. Not only that, when you switch to the 'follow-aircraft' viewpoint, the airfield picture more-or-less disappears, and the ground becomes an endless (and featureless) green expanse, which makes it VERY hard to judge distance and altitude. This also seems to make it pointless to purchase any terrain maps, as they're all just pictures laid over the same terrain. I love the accuracy of the aircraft, but I wish more time had been spent on the terrain.

Crashes!!
This was an awesome app. But as soon as I started buying more planes it started crashing and now I'm lucky if I can get off the ground before it black screens and returns to home screen. Emailed tech support and they told me to wait for a new update but didn't tell me when it would be and basically blamed my phone for the crashes. Seems like others have had the same problems. This would be a 5 star app if worked,customer service wasn't a joke, and they did something about it. Don't waste your money on this.

Really Fun!
I like this app, which I have had for almost a year now. Planes are realistic and fun to fly and the controls can be adjusted to make it easier. Sure, the locked models are a bit expensive, but the beginner one is just as fun. (I know because I bought one.) It actually proved to be good practice for my RC plane.
A suggestion: Add more models, like the Champ. It's kind of cool to fly the exact type of plane you have on your phone.

Help
This is a fantastic sim to keep our skills up but after I loaded more planes and another flight area all it does is crash every time I push the start button. I throttle up and the screen blacks out and goes back to my home page. I deleted the app and then reloaded it. Worked fine until I restored my purchases and then it started crashing again. I have spent a lot of money on this app for the additional planes and I can't fly them. Help! Please fix this app. I would give it a 5 star if the bug was fixed.

a lot cheaper than smashing up nice new models
been flying r.c. for years,,,,have a good sim called real flight,,,,can I say that? great for stick time evenings or when i want to fly without a trip to flying site,,,,saw this one and its crazy cheap compared to other so let's try it,,,works very well after a little getting used to virtual sticks,,,,nice quick response to control inputs,,,,pretty accurate to a real model,,,,however now stuck in camera follow mode,,,,have restarted ipad and wifi,,,,,reistalled program,,,,fun while it lasted???? ok,,fast forward,,,,,solved follow glitch,,,,can get to watch model from ground mode if I set zoom to on,,,,????,,,,still trying to make sense out of wind settings but sim. works good for cheap intro in real r.c. hobby.....if it were too easy we would all get bored,,,,,5stars all things considered,,,,

Good game, add-ons expensive
Firstly I want to say that I think it's a good game. The controls are a bit touchy with helicopters and planes, but the boats are fun, and the graphics are really well done. The purchases for boats, helicopters, and airplanes are a bit overpriced at $2.99 a piece. You have a good amount of add-ons with the aircraft/boats and additional scenery, but I would think of making bundle packages or dropping the prices a bit. Other than that, really enjoy the game, and can't wait to buy additional stuff if you drop the prices a bit.

Feels very natural!
I am RC pilot for many years. My 5 y.o. son asked me to tech him to fly an RC plane. I tried many different sims and found this one. The first flight felt like I am flying my good old electric Cessna! And it is so natural and real I forgot I am moving fingers on the screen and not real sticks! This is as real feeling as it get get. And physics feels very natural.

As realistic as you can get
I fly all types of RC planes. I think it's as realistic as can be made on an iPhone. Control is realistic, but you have to make much smaller corrections due to the size of the sticks. The capability to select conditions and rates is a great feature. $2.99 for each plane is ridiculous, $.99 would be fair.
What would make this a a simulator as good as Real Flight would be the capability to attach your own transmitter. It takes some getting used to because you don't have feel of the sticks and you fingers cover the virtual ones. All in all its a good app.

LOVE IT!
This is a super app. I could, and do, play it for hours. I like that you can turn up the sensitivity of the controls, especially when flying one of the helicopters. I actually own the actual real "blade CX" model at home, and with the controls set to medium, this app is simulates how it flies close to EXACTLY how the real one does. This is my new favorite, hands down. Very nice job, creators!

RC Flyer Must-Have
I recently started flying RC planes, and am currently flying a 4-channel micro P-51. After many crashes I recently discovered this very serious RC simulation in the App Store. So glad I did! I've significantly advanced my skills in the four days I've had this app so far. Graphics are quite good and the planes rendered at retina resolution on my iPad 3. Physics feel accurate. Touch controls take a bit of getting used to, but the mechanics of those controls are the same as a real transmitter, so I'm getting good training when I use this app. I might get their companion PC app and hook up my real transmitter, but what I like about having this on the iPad is that I can take it to the field and brush up skills right before a real flight!

Surprisingly Good
This not too far off from actually flying rc planes. The helicopters are actually easier than the real thing. I don't like using virtual joysticks however, but there's no way to get around that on the iPad. I was so impressed with this sim that I bought the PC version. You can use your actual rc transmitter with that as long as you have USB capability.

Excellent realism for an app
I've been flying collective pitch helis for a few years now and I'm just starting to get into planes. This sim is pretty much dead on as far as flying and wind variations and how it effects the plane. The trex 700 could be a little better with the added functionality of stunt mode but other than that it's awesome

Very Realistic
This app is very realistic I have the apprentice in real life and this is as real as you get on this device the only thing more realistic is pc flight sims if you like flying this you should definitely get one in real life flying in real life is the funniest thing I've ever done it also makes you want to pee your pants it's so fun and scary though but you should
Try real life flying and if you do I would recommend apprentice to anyone.

Great graphics, perfect physics, amazing detail. This sim really hits a home run, but, a gauge cluster would be great! At least an altimeter for the follow camera. Thanks! And possibly for free content, just to have a change if pace every now and then without having to drop the 2.99 fee.

Phenomenal app
This app although it might be a little expensive it is definitely fun and very neat. The only significant down fall is that being 4.99 you only get approx.3 extra planes that makes it in a way a rip off thus explaining why four stars are given. But if you want another plane besides the 4-5 planes available in your inventory your looking at 2.99 each but a better deal than getting lite version and paying that amount for the planes you get in this one. Overall this app is out of this world. ENJOY!!!🎉

Awesome!
I had to take the time out to write how awesome this game is, the heli one too like this, but I like the plane one better. Excellent graphics and this game is true to life. Makes me feel like Im actually flying an RC plane without the expensive wrecks, Im sold 100%. One of the most realistic games I have come across out of any category. Lovin it. ;)

Fa 18 super hornet
Please try to make the game better than real flight and put more airplanes in it and please please put the fa18 super hornet in the simulator because I'm going to buy that rc plane. I don't want to waist my money on a 200 dollar simulator so make it happen please!?. If you do all of that you would be the first actually good simulator on the iOS.

Fabulous
What a great game! Oh but wait, it's not a game, it's a simulator. It's great practice before going out and playing with a real aircraft. I think $2.99 is a bit expensive for extra models, but whatever. This is well written and doesn't crash. Whoever said there need to be levels obviously thinks this is a game. Only thing I think would be great is to have an adjustable center spot for the 3 control surfaces. Like an adjustable dead zone, only because the center is very touchy.

Not bad, but room for improvement
I've only tried the free version of the app so I can only comment on the "trainer." Flying it seemed fairly real except the amount of pitch and altitude gain/loss didn't correlate well to the throttle setting. This might be improved with the correction of my other issue which is the control sticks are too small. The iPad is slightly larger than most of the 4+ channel transmitters I've used and it would help the realism if the stick sizes in the app were closer to real size. Overall I think this app has some great potential and look forward to seeing it get better.

Really realistic, could be better
This is by far the most realistic flight sim out there for free. Though there are a few things that would make it so that I would seriously recommend this as a legitimate substitute for real flying:
- add wind and make it so that you can turn it on and off
- add an adjustable range option. It's really unrealistic to be able to fly so far that you can't even see that airplane anymore but you can still control it
- make more things that you can crash the plane into. I'm serious there are very few places for the average flyer, where they can just fly anywhere they want without worrying about obstacles
overall it's great and I think it will help me get better at my flying

Hiccup
I have the free version so far. The greatest issue is that the trainer 'snaps out' in the opposite direction when full up elevator and full aileron are applied. When doing tight, low-speed touch-n-go's, this becomes highly annoying. The sim is fun, but can be tweaked.
Also, an online multiplayer 'Fun Fly', or an open fly-in, with color options to distinguish one bird from another would be excellent. Just some thoughts. I'd definitely purchase an app with those upgrades and tweaks.

Follow camera
Love the app and really fun!! The "follow" view doesn't work on mine. It shows a good view until the plane goes past a certain elevation and it gets weird from there. Also no settings to adjust the trim. It's set to automatically elevate. The prices get expensive if you'd like to try all the airplanes and the extra maps. Would be nice to have an inexpensive package or something. Still love it though. The warthog is sweet.

Great App
I've have no problem with this app except for the lack of sound, you can only hear your engine on take-off. It has great graphics and detailed planes (all electric). The program runs smooth on the free field, I have not purchased other flying areas. I have purchased most of the planes and enjoy them and have no issue with any of them. I fly RC planes and this is a great substitute to us when you can't get to the field. It will be great this winter.

Fun but it needs a little more
You only get one trainer airplane and one rather bland air field, have to pay money for anything else and it's way to expensive ($2.99 per plane) in my opinion. I guess that's the point of intros. two stick controls, up and down left stick is speed, L and R for rudder. Right stick is pitch and roll. Pads are kinda small and I keep slipping off them when doing fancy stuff. Sim is pretty close to actual flying, well done on that part Happy Bytes. Fun for a free game, quick way to kill 15-20 minutes but not a game for me to keep.

It's good, but......
I own and fly 10 planes, two of which are ducted engine (Mig 29s) 3 three-channel monoplanes, one B2 bomber, one sail glider, one sea plane, and two three-channel micro airplanes (Night Vapor and Ember2), so I'm 100% sure I know how all kinds of planes react. This simulator is not at all realistic, not because it's on an iPhone, but because of how the plane reacts. The plane (Apprentice) doesn't stall (I didn't waste my money on the other models), and when you use the rudder, it spirals out of control way too fast. I see this more as a game than a simulator. DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY!!!
