Bought tickets online, come to find out they were available through the app. Downloaded the app, linked my account and cannot view my tickets. There isn't even a tab or section to Aggregate current tickets or any history. It's functionality is insanely poor. It's a sales app, the developers and the business didn't give a crap about the customer experience

I bought Padres tickets online and the app acknowledged them, but would never bring up the barcodes. I still had to wait in line to get them printed. It also couldn't link my rewards card. Basically, the app added no value.

Until this app has the option to use location services while using the app it will deserve one star. You're only options are Always or Never, meaning you need to switch it back and forth if you don't want it using your data all the time. So many apps have the "while using the app" option and I don't see why this one can't.

Inconvenient and unreliable

I bought 4 tickets to the Reds' Billy Hamilton bobble head night on this app. Went to the gate, and the tickets wouldn't display the bar code. They sent us to the box office, where we waited in a long line that we were trying to avoid by using this app. After about ten minutes of confusion at the box office, finally got paper tickets for the seats we already bought. By the time the ordeal was over, we missed out on the bobble heads and most of the first inning. Buy your tickets from a more reliable app. Terrible experience.

This app has been so amazing. I love the journal and the ability to add my photos. It checks me in when I arrive for games. I love it. What happened to being able to add my tickets to my apple wallet. It used to be so easy. I could have them in there before I left home so I was ready at the gate. Now I can't figure out how to do it. It would be a 5 star if I could get my tickets into my apple wallet. Love my baseball!!!

My brother and I both had this app on her phone for our separate ticket orders for the game on July 5, 2017, and neither of us could gain access to our tickets via the app an hour before game time. We both had to wait in the line at will call to have them print them for us. It was irritating. Not impressed. I should mention that we had full bars, so it was not a problem with our mobile provider.

Horrible & confusing interface. It's clear the MLB nor the creators of this app value UX. A simple study asking people to figure out how to show their purchased tickets would have revealed major flaws. Talking with the people scanning tickets, it's a near universal problem, so it's also clear they're not listening to feedback from the field.
One of the worst design apps that I've seen.

Unbelievable that MLB chooses to contaminate it's ticket sales with this broken horribly designed app. Just spent last hour waiting for confirmation email to link account. Broken app won't send it. For account I have linked, absurdly, only way to see tickets reserved or any other info is to just refresh app over and over dozens of times. Eventually it usually works. As the 2 star rating indicates, my experiences are the norm for this broken app. Over the course of the season, across all teams, I can't imagine how many hundreds of thousands of ticket sales were lost by people who wanted to go to the ball park, couldn't get the 2 star app to work, and gave up. I know several people who gave up. I was planning to go to a game...But the app won't let me.

I used to love this app for news articles and in game video recaps, but in 2017 everything seemed to go to the At Bat App. However, I do love having access to my tickets as a season ticket holder.
The only major problem I am having now is that every time I attempt to open my Inbox in the app, it crashes. I think an update is needed since the newest iPhone update.

MLB tech doesn't know what they're doing. How many logins does someone need? I have one for the MLB shop, one for MLB TV, and neither of these is recognized by this app. I really need a third MLB account?? You gotta be frickin kidding me. It's not simple tech skill, it's intelligence in running a business, and MLB doesn't have it.

I had to load this app to get my tickets. After accepting the tickets they wouldn't show in the app. I called customer service and they were helpful. The guy told me they would probably show up if I waited longer and it should work when I got to the stadium. I requested printable tickets as a backup to the app.
There was a long line at the stadium and the tickets finally showed up on the app. However the tickets wouldn't scan. It's a good thing i printed tickets otherwise I would have been forced to go to the ticket office to sort out this mess then get back in line again.

Forwarding tickets functionality failed. Left the other five members of my party hanging because it wouldn't give them barcodes on their app. They had to go to ticket services and missed the pregame festivities and Pete Rose statue replicas. This app is great! I use it as a diary of all the games I've been to and it keeps all of the data including things like how many ballparks you've visited, and the records of every team in games you've seen. I've also won some cool prizes through the check in feature. One thing that I would like to see be better is being able to watch in game highlights which isn't available for every game and is a bit clunky.

The app is great, except the only options being always or never for location services. I wish there was a "while using the app" option, I don't live in town to my major league park, so when I go to the game, I want the app. For the rest of the time that I don't need it, and I'm eighty miles away, there isn't ongoing need or desire for my location to be need or known, not even for ads while I'm nearby, because I'm not.

I've always enjoyed using this app as a diary of the games I've been to.
Now the changes for 2017 have made it more customized to my team, and added some useful functions related to ticketing and parking.
My beef remains that this app has always been advertised as unlocking access to in-game video while I'm in the stadium. It still doesn't really do that -- at least not on anything close to real-time. I shouldn't have to wait until the seventh inning to see a replay from the second inning.

I wouldn't have given this 5 stars a year ago, not now I will. 2017-04-14
Version 6.1
All features of this app, should be incorporated within the MLB at Bat app and not on a separate app. Also, the MLB at Bat should be r maned to MLB. The more features in just one app, the better and more convenient it is for users.
The Apple Watch app needs to also have more options and flexibility to view scores, standings, and future games. Also your ticket info when u arrive to the park.
Consolidation of MLB apps in 1 app, will be more convenient to the users instead of installing to many apps on a device. It would also be great if there is an app made for the Mac OS instead of going to a webpage. Please make it easy and all features accessible.

New update: April 1, 2017
App is updated. It's worse than before. On the tickets page you can barely see anything. Too thin. Too light. Terrible fonts. I want to be able to see all of my games. Hate the boxes for my tickets. I want a list like it was before. Even on the all home games I can't see which are mine. You're at the game. Someone says hey when's your next game. You feel like a fool because you can't tell them.
On the ballpark page: booklet we received says there's a "map and directory". In app? Nope. It's gone. There is a stadium map. It can't be zoomed very much at all. Come on people. How about an ACTUAL BASEBALL FAN HELP YOU WITH THIS?????
Old review:
Our tickets disappeared from the app shortly after the season began, and 2 updates later, they're still missing. "You had ONE job..."
MLB, if your ticketing app can't get me inside the venue, I'm sure not going to pull it out once I'm there to see what else it can't do for me!

Version 5.2.2
I have been using this app since the separated it from the MLB At Bat app several years ago. The latest update is using more data than in the past. Surprised when my my ticket was still on display after I placed iPhone 6s Plus back in case. The screen did not turn off after at least 20 minutes since last use. Never had a sleep prevention issue with any other app before. Using location services all the time except when using app. Tickets can no longer be added to passbook and you have to be connected to the Internet to display tickets because they are not saved in the app. The History of tickets and seating area when you check in showing the actual seat location would be helpful for repurchasing the same or similar seats by favoriting the location.
How about Instagram support.

It's getting better...

Version 5.2.1
1. It would be nice if they added the ability to check in to spring training games (and/or minor league parks). Right now this is limited to regular season games at MLB ballparks only.
2. Checking in at several MLB ballparks is seemingly impossible; the app simply doesn't load inside the parks (is wifi mandatory?). If there's nothing that can be done to boost the signal/performance, please allow us to save our seat/section information during post check-in.
Aside from that, this app is getting better with each upgrade and bug fix. Thanks!

Version 5.2.1
This app is near perfect. Great for guiding yourself around stadiums and locating what you need. The check ins are cool so you can relive the games you've been to.
My one request to make it better would be to add other baseball events held at stadiums to check in. For example, I went to the All Star Game this year. I checked into All Star Sunday, but it slipped my mind to check into the Home Run Derby. After the fact, you can check into games, but not past events like the Derby. This sounds petty, but this very minor tweak would make the app absolutely perfect.

Version 5.2.0
I was "forced" to use this app with my season tickets this year and have found it extremely difficult to perform the tasks - like ticket management - on the mobile app that I am used to being able to do. The linking of accounts is not intuitive and requires several steps and my rewards program which is linked, seems to crash the app each time I launch it. It is very frustrating. I have resorted to using the desktop version of the team's software instead.

The app used to support Apple Wallet but now, at least at Citi Field, it no longer does. Also, though the Mets FAQ says that it will save tickets even with connectivity lost, when I test this by putting my phone in airplane mode, it doesn't work. Now I feel like I need to print a ticket to be safe... What's the point?! Also, pls change the app so that it offers the ability to only use location while in the app. I don't want to have it constantly drain my battery or abuse my privacy getting my location all the time!

Version 5.1.1
Lots to like, but a few major flaws.
1. When you check-in at a game and punch in your ticket info (section, row, seat) it doesn't show you a seat map with your exact location in the park. This is a huge whiff. Would be awesome if you could track exactly where your seats are so you can find them, share location with friends, etc.
2. After you upload photos to your game journal, with the fun "MLB" or "Wrigley Field" frame around them, you can no longer share them on social media or with friends. The only time you can share them is the exact moment that you upload them. After that they are locked up there so only you can view them. Total waste.
3. If you forget to "check-in" for a game, they do allow you to add that game later, but it appears out of order in your timeline, and they don't allow you to punch in your ticket/seat info, which would be great.
4. Would love if there was more fun info/history about the park, with photos of it through the past decades, changes, and highlights of fun/quirky stuff you can visit or see within the current park. If that exists, I can't find it.
Overall it's a pretty cool app, but some refinements could make it great!

I rarely write reviews but this experience was so frustrating that I want to provide feedback. I have logged in, selected a favorite team (which makes no sense why you force users to do that), and linked my ticket account. But I STILL can't find where to display my tickets in the app for the game today. I'm deleting the app and printing the tickets on paper. This was a very poor experience.
Also there is no search when choosing a favorite team. It's annoying to have to scroll through the list.

As usual MLB put locking you in to their exclusive stuff and their profits above the fan experience. Account linking (CRUCIAL for ticket use and transfers) has worked less than a third of the time now. App doesn't load tickets while in line at park (requires cell service which any fan knows is spotty at games) and MLB's entire response to me over this via customer service has basically been "meh we've already got the money, and we can't figure out the issue, so just deal with it as best you can." Do everything you can to avoid using this app.

I agree with MattTheQuick's review. The fact that the only option is to always have location services on or not at all is a royal pain. I turn on the location services to check in, then have to shut it right back off to avoid the massive drain on my battery. If there were an option to just use location services while using the app, it would be a 5 star app.

Good app but...

There is no need to have the location features as an Always or Never option. Why not make the app only use location when using the app?
I would use this at ballgames much more if that were an option. The constant battery drain of location tracking isn't worth the app features, in my view.

Have used this app for several years and, in general love it. But I especially liked the ease and convenience of being able to add tickets to the iPhone passbook which is no longer an option. I had been looking forward to being able to access my tickets without having to unlock my screen but instead not only will I need to unlock the screen, it will be necessary to navigate to the app, then each ticket individually for scanning. Nothing like slowing things down at the gates. Would have rated a 5 star but for this change.

The app itself looks great, but I couldn't get it to do what I downloaded it for. I'm going to an A's spring training game today, and I can't get the tickets to appear in my app so I don't have to print them out to attend the game (which I ended up doing anyway after about 20 minutes of frustration). I'm a D-Backs fan, so I selected the D-Backs as my favorite team upon downloading the app. I go to check my ticket account and see that I don't have any D-Backs tickets in my wallet. So I go back, select the A's as my favorite team, go to the wallet, login to my A's account (which I didn't even know I had) and find that the tickets aren't in the wallet, even though I added them using the MLB website on my computer.
I should just be able to buy tickets - no matter who my team is - have them automatically added to my wallet, fire up the app, have a very easy to locate "tickets" button to click on, and find all the tickets I've ever purchased through the MLB. I consider myself to be pretty technology savvy and I couldn't figure it out. Let's make this app more user friendly guys.

I love the recent Improvements to include games as far back as 1903! Would be great to see Spring Training games included as well as some enhancements on navigating the journal such as collapsable years and to be able to jump to all the games seen of one park right from the Ballparks Stats page.

I was going through my App library today and was intent on cleaning up some things and toss those apps that are never used. High on that list was BALLPARK.
For years I and hundreds of reviewers have been clamoring for one feature: Let us add games we have attended prior to 2005.
It’s HERE! What a coincidence that I happened to read the details and on the very day that this is updated and I was going to chuck the app.
I’ve given it a try and it is all I wanted. Just a simple way to track the parks I’ve visited, score of the game, notes that I may recall about that day, etc. All the things I’ve been keeping on a spread sheet up until now. Thanks MLB!! 4 out of 5 stars!! 1 off for making us wait so long. : )

My son an I have started the ultimate adventure . All the major league parks in 4 years or less. Started in
August this year and knocked out 7 parks already& have a trip planned for next year to do 11 more parks. I didn't know about this app until we visited the blujays on Toronto. Having a chance at prizes is nice, but finding out more about the ballparks and things to do at each one has helped bring my son & I closer together. He used it at first and then after a few parks looking at his phone , I downloaded it to mine. Great decision , a little late maybe , highly recommended this app

Version 4.2.0
I’ve tried the app twice to enter Fenway Park with tickets that were ‘tossed’ to me. Both instances ended in frustration and embarrassment.
When an iPhone comes anywhere near the ticket readers, the phone assumes you’re making a purchase and switches to Apple Pay. To get back to your tickets inside the app is a difficult, multi-step process, and certainly not easy to do with hundreds of ticket holders waiting to get in behind you.
Additionally, during my second use, the scanner somehow registered both of my tickets (after an initial disaster where it switched to Apple Pay), leaving my wife stuck outside the gate without a valid ticket to scan. We had to explain the story to Ticket Services, who thankfully printed her a new, unused ticket and let me back in through security.
Needless to say, I absolutely will never use this app again. I hope the developer is in the process of addressing these issues because they’re deal-breakers for this to actually be a feasible substitute for hard tickets.

Love using this app!

I was sent on a wild goose chase at Angels stadium yesterday looking for a food vendor the app said was at a certain location. Turns out, it's no longer there. What a waste of time!
I have also found menus are not up to date or accurate and not detailed enough. There needs to be detailed beer information so you know which vendor to go to for the beer you're looking for. The app really isn't all that helpful in narrowing down where to go for the food you're looking for.

The second time the charges me 5 times for tickets that were never delivered and for which the app never provided a purchase confirmation. And now TICKETS TICKETS TICKETS won’t return 5x$129 in charges because they say that the sale was completed, even though they never provided an email confirmation or way to get into the ballpark, and despite the fact that I have receipts from the tickets in the same section that we had to buy at the box office. Avoid this app at all costs. Cool feature idea by being able to upgrade your tickets but it's the most confusing customer experience I've ever been subjected to. In typical ticketmaster fashion, they have a bunch of engineers designing from the inside (systems) out (customer). It took me 20 minutes of clicking, typing, checking email, and cursing and I still could not find my upgraded tickets. The only thing that saved me was that I took a screenshot of the upgrade and texted the upgrade URL the app provided at purchase. If I hadn't saved those I would have been screwed out of $40. The app is NOT intuitive in the least and I still can't find my tickets through their app. This is one of the very few times I've purchased anything form ticket master and if I can help it, it will be the last time. StubHub all the way - their app just works! I don't have time for TicketMaster or MLB's app crap.

As a Pirates fan, I'm lucky enough to call PNC Park my home stadium. I've never had any issues using a digital ticket and even won a t shirt at the game last night by checking in. I've also unlocked several deals for merchandise. I recommend it to all of my friends heading to PNC Park for the maps and amenities information.
That being said- I could see how this app would be useless in a park that hasn't implemented those technologies. It's only as good as the parks that support it.

I would like nothing better than to flash my phone and walk into a game, but Apple pay always appears and rather than hold up the line, I just bust out my paper tickets which I print because I was nervous it wouldn't work. Also, stop making me log in. I don't want to be entering passwords while moving up in line.
Why can't Fenway allow this to work with passbook? That would eliminate the apple pay issue.
Could be good, but because I can't use it without apple pay popping up, useless.

I like being able to load and show the barcode of my admission ticket on my phone. This feature still requires more frequent logging in than should be required but it has improved since this app was originally created.
The Phillies offer "experience upgrades" but their prices are too high to be a good deal. The total of what you pay for your original ticket plus your upgrade should not be more than the cost of the seat you're upgrading into- especially considering how lousy the Phillies are this year. They should try and find a price that sells more upgrades because some money is better than none :-) but its corporate greed Hard at work

Since Dodger Stadium will not accept a complaint about fan family, I am trying to get the word out. We are season ticket holders and we are in a pool with four other attorneys. We did not get tickets for Father's Day this year so we decided to buy them through a friend. Bad idea! The season ticket holder we bought them from reprinted the tickets after selling us hard copies. Tip of the day is season ticket holders can reprint tickets as many times as they want. The first one to the stadium wins! The only legit way of buying tickets is through Stub Hub unless you personally are a season ticket holder yourself. FYI many people are in line that this has happened to. It made for a Father's Day nightmare. We bought 4 tickets in field box seats.

It wasn't till I reached PNC park for opening day between Phillies an Bucs that I discovered that MLB had taken At the Park function out of At Bat this year. Needless to say, I was unable to get enough bandwidth at the park to download the app. But what is really frustrating is that of the six games/six different parks I attended last year I was only able to check in at one because I couldn't get checked in do to lack of bandwidth at the parks. If MLB is going to offer special rewards for check ins they need to ensure adequate coverage at the parks. I've been to games at CBP (Philly), Arlington, San francisco, Pittsburg, Citi Field, Yankee Stadium, Fenway, Baltimore, and Arizona. I've only ever gotten enough coverage to connect at two. Different badges (a-la foursquare) for milestones, special events, and playoff games could be pretty cool (DJ3K badge, 2012 WS badge, No-Hitter badge, etc) otherwise the app is great and a much needed improvement.

This app is pointless. If you need help in a ballpark, it is easier and faster to ask one of hundreds of ushers and concession workers that work sporting events. You have no access to stats, the current game score sheet, or anything else of value. The MLB store discounts are a joke - same stuff they send out on social media, and the same overpriced products. The only purpose this app serves us to send out a notice via social media that you are at the ball game, which provides free marketing to MLB but could get the user in trouble by advertising they are not at home. Or work. This app needs to give me something in return being a social media billboard and it just doesn't.

As of May 2012, the "order from your seat" is not only worthless, it is totally counterproductive. At Marlins Park, I tried it and the order was submitted without any problem. There is, however, no notice that your order is ready and you have to go to a stand to pick up your order. Then, your order is not at the closest stand to your seat but at one designated stand. Even though my seat was behind 3rd base, the pick-up was at a stand behind 1st base. Don't ask about your order at any other stand because they have no clue. When I got to the designated stand, first no one waited on the signed line for these pick-ups, then once they found the person who was supposed to provide orders, they couldn't find the order (after looking and checking for 5 minutes and my showing them the confirmation and Visa charge on the cell phone). After missing an entire inning, they took the order (again) as if I had just walked up. What a complete waste, at least as far as that feature is concerned. If that's why you're getting the app, don't bother-it's easier to go to the closest food stand and only ordering once.

There are several things missing in this app now that it is separate from the At Bat app. Under "Profile" you can see all the parks you been at. You used to be able to click on a park and you would get information about the park. Also in the Profile section, when you were in "games attended" you used o be alb to tap one of the games and see the box score from that game. I miss that. I would lie to have it back. Same with the missing ballpark features. Also the app didn't check me in with Facebook even though I was logged in. Has many pluses but missing key features from last year.
