So much potential but complete disappointment
Can not believe I wasted 2 dollars on this garbage. Looking a 40ft slope, I draw my cross section and it calls the area flat.

Geo Elevation
Great app at least in my opinion. Hard sometimes to get precision on map due to touch on iPad but that goes without saying. Depends on what you are using app for as to what is best for everyone but the main thing is you can do elevation and depth in ocean that's pretty darn good. I have done my home work and oceanography is my field of study main study being ocean bathymetry. Was well worth what I paid.

Could be good but has a bug
Scale on left side of graph is overlapped by the word 'Elevation' and doesn't allow you to read the measurements. Fix this and I will find it useful.

A complete piece of garbage!
There are numerous bugs/problems with this app:
1. The app does not allow a user to register for a free account at Geo2 Register. After entering the requested info no confirmation email is sent to the email address designated by the user.
2. There is no FAQ or Help section anywhere in the App or on develop's website for Geo Elevation
3. After creating an elevation profile when the user attempts to email the Geo Elevation Files from email on the iphone no data or email is sent. Nothing goes out.
4. When visiting developer's website Geo Elevation is not even listed as one of their apps for iphone/iPad. Did they sell or transfer the app to another developer or just stop providing any support?
5. Sending questions to developer via their 'Contact Us' page is useless. I have sent at least three messages in the past and have never received a response.

I use this App for amateur radio applications to determine the distance and elevation between stations I contact on the radio. It is great for figuring out if I can work a station on VHF or UHF direct or accessing repeaters.

The best for running
This app is the best out of the lot. The elevation feature is great! Perfect for planning my runs, especially when I'm traveling.
It is missing a few standard features the similar apps have though.
* Tapping on a point should show you the distance. Currently you only get feedback on the total distance (i.e. the last point).
* You should be able to insert and delete points. There's no way to do this right now.
* What is geo2? Why a login and save to? There's no explanation or apparent functionality.
* You should be able to open emailed routes in the app from email. It's a bit weird that you can export routes out of the app, but not import the same route back in.
Otherwise highly recommended.

Terrible. Roads are often built flatter than the surrounding area. Map does not recognized this fact.

Really Like It
There are two things that would be useful to add. One is to use the GPS to determine your location and give the elevation. The other is to place a mark on the spot if you use an address.

Like it, needs to be able to change elevation to feet. Never mind, latest update made it nearly perfect. Any chance of adding a tool to track my actual path traveled and give me elevation results. Keep up great work.

good for backcountry skiiers
if you do any type of backcountry skiing or helicopter snowboarding this app is extremely useful to plot your trails. with such a risky sport people tend not to take elevation into consideration. this app has probably saved me a trip to the hospital on many occasions without me even knowing.

Saved my legs
This was a simple easy to use app that gets you results. I was biking this weekend with a group of 12 and my friend proposed two different routes. There was route A that was shorter and route B that was longer. Everyone decided to go with route A, the shorter route because it was the beginning of the season and we all just wanted to warm up. Everyone chose the shorter route because of the distance and no one really thought about the elevation. That's when I found Neo Elevation that allowed me to draw out the route and calculated the elevation within 2 minutes. Although route A was shorter, the elevation was 1,028 meters compared to route B, 688 meters. Everyone immediately decided on route B with the lower elevation. No one would of made made it to route A without burning out their legs. Neo Elevation, you have saved us all!
