I have an I phone and have contacted Rain Aware in reference to alerts don’t work. THEY are working on the problem. Don’t waste your money. My husband has the ap and he gets alerts ????? Me ??? Nothing.

Extremely light sprinkles or drizzle may not always be detected. Precipitation times will change as RainAware adjusts to rapidly changing weather conditions. Precipitation can form suddenly or dissipate at any time. Works best when precipitation is moving. Times are estimates and have inherent error. Advanced settings are there to mitigate these issues.

Rain notification
I bought this app so it would give me a notification of impending rain. There is no notification - such as a notification push with an audible sound. If you buy this app, please realize that you will have to look at your phone to see when the rain is going to start.. I was hoping it was like dark sky that would notify you audibly of upcoming rainstorms. other than that it’s an OK app but I would not have paid five bucks for it if I knew it had no notification

I’m able to see whether I should start wrapping up my outdoor activities in 10 minutes or 30 that’s how accurate the rain forecast at virtually my exact spot will be. It definitely helps me plan.

Not sure where things went wrong with this app. Started strong but for the last few years what it tells you is happening is not even close to what is actually happening. Used to be my go to. Now it’s just taking up space on my weather app group.

Very Accurate
I’ve had Rain Aware for a few years now and I rely on it when I want minute to minute forecasts for when I want to run out on an errand or mow the lawn, etc. I can see, for example, that I have “x” amount of minutes to do this or that. It’s pretty much right on.

I lived your app for ease of use checking multiple saved locations by simple scrolling. What have you done? All my saved locations disappeared and it is much harder — impossible? — to add them back. It is awful.

Rarely Accurate
It can be dumping rain or snow outside my window but RainAware says it’s dry with no precipitation expected. Pretty much useless. I rarely look at it and when I do, it’s mostly for entertainment! “Nothing to see here!”

It seems that RainAware goes down in the winter time during a big storm when we need the most. When it works it works great when it doesn’t. It doesn’t work great.

I find this app to be extremely clear to use, and in my case, extremely accurate. I can’t think of something additional to add to the app, but if something ingenious came up, I would definitely pay an extra amount for pro features.

Just okay servers are always down
When the app works it is great but it does not always work. More times than enough I receive a Server SSL certificate error 1202 when I go to use it. If I do t get that error it’s a message that the servers are down. When I first started using the app about 4-5 years ago it was great over time errors messages are received. These messages occur when the app is needed because the forecast is rain. Not sure what has happened but it is not as reliable. There are times I check local news and the radar shows storms and the app is clear. Development team get your act together.

A superb app for the most current inclement weather information and it's accurate prediction time for rainfall. The radar section is my favorite. I used this app in Hawaii for years, I'm pleased to advise its accuracy is phenomenal. I'm using it now on the mainland, it's still awesome. Thank you for continuing to improve your app!!!

Not so much West of the Rockies, but places were it actually rains (snark) it’s an accurate and high resolution tool to time outdoor activities. Ones that you want rain for and vice versa.
I’ve been using for 4 years. It’s my go to app for precipitation.

No more updates?
This app used to work really well, and was very accurate based on my location - but now, not so much. No app updates in a year? Disappointed on many levels, and especially when it now takes quite a while for the app to access the NWS. I used to really rely on this app, but not anymore. There’s a winter storm headed my way and I can’t access any images or precip arrival estimates.

Worked perfectly for years until today.
My main screen says “JSON could not be serialized because of error: The data couldn't be read because it isn't in the correct format. [47” and that’s it. I’ve tried restarting the up-to-date iPhone. Until now, I’ve LOVED this App!

Used to be so much more accurate
What happened? Are you or two ago I could use this time the rain almost to the minute. Now every five minutes the forecast changes. Literally just before writing this review it said it’s going to storm for three hours. 30 seconds before that it was only gonna storm for 15 minutes. Five minutes ago it said two hours. I don’t know what’s wrong but this app is now useless.

So accurate it’s freakin Scary
I live in the Bay Area and rarely get to ever see precipitation, but on the handful of days per year it does rain I’m all over this app. I’ve put it to the test and it’s correct within seconds of when rain will start and stop. I also learned that Major League Baseball umpires use RainAware to determine rain delays and whether to stop play or when to restart. It’s hella good!!

I was extremely disappointed in the app today and it was dark the sky was for me it was building up warm weather every sign was pointing to the fact it was gonna rain I checked the app multiple times wasn’t even the slightest chance of rain in the forecast and in Minneapolis it poured thunder lightning for hours?
I hate to give you a bad review but you should have a way on the app for us to contact you so you can update things.

Rain Aware
I rely heavily on Rain Aware and the nowcasting format it uses. It has saved me several times from getting drenched or getting too far from shelter when bad weather was inbound. The 5 minute breakdowns are highly accurate and very valuable for people like me who walk and hike on a daily basis. I love the three hour clock graphic as well.

Amazing it not freakishly accurate
This app is great it can tell you when to expect rain and how long it will last as well as the density of the rainfall. I kid you not I was showing it off at a picnic ; it started raining, my spouse asked how long it’s going to rain and check the app. App said 17 minutes. Another guest challenged me how does it know that to the minute? I set timer for 17 minutes. Timer went off and rain stopped. The other person got the app after that.

Seems to be getting worse
When I first got this app - it was spot on! I don’t know which update switched it from being useful - the last couple of times I used it - it was way off. It would say next 3 hours dry and then I would look up and see the gray clouds and hear the thunder and it still said dry for the next 3 hours! It started raining within minutes! If it were a free app - then I would say lesson learned but I actually paid $4.99 for it! I hope this update corrects this

Rely on it every day I check rainaware every day, rarely is it inaccurate.
When rainaware says it's going to rain it actually does, unlike the TV weather and even the weather channel. Now, my friends come to me when they want to know what the weather will do.

Near Perfection!
Love it. Just what I was looking for. Gives the most accurate predictions possible and is super informative. I work outside with my computer very often and this app gives me exactly the level of information I need to know if I should move inside within the next 5 to 165 minutes. Absolutely incredible.

This app is very helpful for those in severe storm areas. This past May 2019 we had quite a few tornadic and flooding events. Having real-time access to weather radar is lifesaving. This app is a necessary tool now for me.

There is no appreciable zoom on the radar, and that is about all you get with this app. I was a bit disappointed with the features of this app for the cost (when compared to others). One notable plus is the cloud layer which you can toggle on and off.
If the app develops into a more well rounded and information rich offering I can see it doing very well.

This app has been very accurate for me. I’m happy to finally see an update for this app, and that the update brings iPhone X support for the resolution.
+ radar images load quickly and are usually only a minute old
+ accurate for me here in the Minneapolis area
+ you can adjust the clutter (and other things) filtering to better fit your area
+ I can see the rain prediction by time and intensity via a couple display options.
- closest weather station to my home is 19 miles (doesn't seem to affect anything other than current conditions being a bit off).

Location accuracy is bad - UPDATE 2 to 5 stars
I live in Florida and really wanted this program to work. It is everything I wanted, except accurate. It is a full half-mile off from my IPhone compass location, which is extremely accurate. In Florida, a half-mile is the difference between getting drenched in a thunderous downpour and working on your tan. I have been drenched twice by relying on it. If they can fix that problem. I would give it a solid four stars.
Update: After using this program for a couple years, all of my concerns about accuracy have been fixed. I doubt if you can find a better program for the essentials you need to plan around local weather changes. With family spread around the country, I can quickly zoom into their local weather as well.

A group of eight to fifteen men eat breakfast most mornings at the local restaurant. This app has attracted lots of attention when I open the app and say that the rain will start within X number of minutes......remarkably...I am usually correct.

Beautiful interface
The look and feel of this app is superb, in my opinion. It is clean and free of clutter, while making access to the core information instantaneous.
As to accuracy...well, its a weather forecast, folks. Any meteorologist will admit there is art as well as science in the profession. Im not sure what RainAware uses as its data source(s), but I have found it at least as accurate as NWS, Accuweather, etc. The link to radar imagery allows the user to draw their own conclusions as to the adequacy of the forecast.
RainAware fills a very specific niche, providing ultra short term predictions.

Paid and not dependable.
I might expect more than I should, but to be so wrong so frequently is not acceptable. And, after reading some of the other reviews it became apparent that I not alone.
When I have a need for absolutely correct information and don't get it, I'm place in an awkward situation.
I will keep it because I paid for it. Knowing what I know now I would not recommend it.

Best In Accuracy
We need to be prepared for significant rain events where I live. Of the more than a dozen apps (some with very popular names) Rain Aware outperforms them all. I think the reports and indicators are as close to perfect real-time as you can get. The three hour clock has been most valuable.

Rainaware needs an update; hasn’t been updated for a year now; may not be compatible with iOS 11; I could be wrong but I believe it used to have notifications; none now; plus no background refresh; I’ve checked all the settings in iPhone system settings & only find location setting which is “only while using”; far from sufficient; checked setting in the app & there nothing about notifications

This app is accurate and gives me the heads up before I go out of the house. The only thing is that it has a hard time predicting the rain/snow too far ahead because the weather can change so quickly but not much you can do about that.

Best Rain app there is
I have never paid more than $1.99 for an app before this one. This is definitely worth $4.99. It was recommended by Susan Waldman, a NY Yankees radio broadcaster. We were in the car on the way to a game and it was pouring. She announced it was going to stop in 36 minutes, and lo and behold, it stopped when she said it would. Hasn't been correct since downloaded
Example: checked RainAware on 1st tee, because clouds appeared in distance, showed no probability of rain (Dry). By 5th hole (hour later) pouring rain, lightning in distance, horn was sounded. Really, checked RainAware - Dry. Really?
Coordinates shown in app are correct. What gives?
RainAware has been this inaccurate since downloading. It can even warn of rain when it's actually raining. All positive reviews must be that it very accurate regarding the fact that is dry, when it actually is dry. As far as rain predicting - a joke.
At least sits a humorous conversation piece while getting soaked (or maybe it was imagination that I was getting rained on)

The best rain app I have ever seen
I have tried many weather apps throughout the years which did work but this year has been a nightmare. Every app I downloaded was incorrect with the rain and I mean way off the mark. I bragged about RainAware to my husband who has to have accurate weather forecast for his line of work and he was even amazed. I now have my friends downloading this app. As you can see I love it.

I saw this reviewed on the Today show today and immediately downloaded it. I didn't think it was supposed to rain today but looking at the app I saw it was supposed to rain NOW. About 30 seconds later it began to pour.

A weather junkie says this is the one!
I have practically every weather app. This is far and away the best go to app for today's weather forecast.
What matters most is that it's easy to use, gives the best clear information on the startup screen, it's fast, and it's accurate.
There are plenty of options to entertain weather junkies like me, but it's so easy to use that literally anyone can predict the days rainfall without looking at a map.
I'll continue to use other apps for certain things, but this will always be my will-it-rain app.

Accurate rain predictions
Love this app. Well worth the $4.99 (btw, the first and only app I have paid for!), recommended by my friend the hunter. Whether it is walking the dog or entertaining the grandchildren, the ability to see if, when, how long, and where, we might experience rain is invaluable. Highly recommend to everyone, no matter your activity level - you don't have to be the outdoorsman to utilize this app.

Bit foggy but best of what's out there
Generally excellent. So far after about 10 months, misses only when there is coastal fog that hides heavy drizzle - enough to use windshield wipers and have to use rain gear. Aside from that major annoyance, we like the way it keeps pace with changing conditions while providing hourly forecasts and good imaging.

Great Weather App
Rain Aware is a terrific app when all you want to know is the possibility and timing of precipitation. Even in SW FL, where rain can be difficult to predict, Rain Aware usually provides accurate information. I recommend Rain Aware to anyone trying to make outdoor plans.

Awesome app
I've had the app for about 3 months. We hike all the time and the app has been dead on except maybe twice. I think that deff deserves 5 stars. Best weather app of its type in my opinion. If you spend a lot of time outside this app is a must!!!

My most used app
I probably use this app more than any other I've purchased. (Of course, I live in Portland. Probably not so useful in Phoenix.)
The abiity to predict the next three hours may seem limited, but the accuracy is awesome, and really useful. The 7-day forecast is more accurate than my other apps for rain or snow.

You should download this app
I willingly paid $5 for this app- and I never buy apps. I love how I can accurate know when it's going to rain and how hard. The Point Of Interests is a very cool feature allowing you to see conditions for your weekend trip to Disneyland for example. The 7 day forecast is handy and easy to read. The radar imagery is nice to have too to be able to see what's going on nearby.

Very Accurate, but...
Been using this for a while. My only, minor complaint, is the inability to remove the current location and 3 hour precipitation bars, which uses too much of the screen shrinking the rain clock. Can we make them removable or simply optional?

Pretty cool! Was eerily accurate this afternoon
Ok, so I have only been using this app in Northern CA (where it has rained a lot this month!). This afternoon has been characterized by on and off 30 min stretches of partly sunny alternating with 15 minute stretches of light windy rain. So far, in the first 3 hours of use, it has been very accurate. Almost creepy accurate!

My Go-To Weather App!
This is my go-to weather app! So simple, but surprisingly accurate. I love knowing exactly when the rain will begin & how hard it will be. My puppy & I rely on it to decide when we can walk without getting wet. 🙂 The radar images are helpful, too.

Great App!! Missing push notifications:-(
Overall I have no major issues with the app. However, I would like to see push notifications to alert you to rain within 3 hours.

Nice improvements
This app continues to improve. The 7 day forecast is much easier to view. I especially like that it shows the night temp separately. When other apps just show the low for a day, there is nothing that indicates the low is for the early morning or the coming night. They just show a low to happen some time in that 24 hours. This app does it better.
