Unusable due to language barrier
I’m a native English speaking person. I am also fluent with Dutch. I have some skill with French. I have no skill with Mandarin, nor Japanese/Kanji.
My iPhone language settings do not include any that I don’t have some skill with. This app comes up displaying in Chinese or Kanji and I cannot find any way to switch it to English. Maybe I could use this if it started using the default language in my iOS settings. Until then — I give it a zero rating. Unusable.
The support site comes up the same way. I can’t make any sense of the page to submit a support request.
If you don’t read Kanji don’t bother with this app.

Great build
Solid platform to play. I'm a beginner, so I guess I don't know how challenging the computer is; and I don't speak any other languages, so I don't know how the p2p is either.
Computer seems to "rage quit" sometimes when I'm able to start-I don't know what it's called in the game-but winning.
Update: game used to ask me if I'd like to resume old game. Since the update it doesn't, & since the game "rage quit" on me it won't let me play against the computer anymore.

If you are fluent in either Chinese or the game of Go, then this app might be helpful. Otherwise, it's pretty useless.

Plays at about 15 kyu
In "Man" vs. Machine mode, it plays at about 15k-17k at its high (smartest) level, but impossibly slow, 30 seconds to a minute per move (on an iPad 3 on a full sized 19x19 board.) The tesugi (tactics) and joseki (standard corner play pattern) features each require a $4.99 purchase. I didn't try any of the other features.

A great app for playing Go. Very user friendly interface. A lot of good players from China available to play 24x7. Sometimes it is slow to load the game records for review due to busy servers. The messaging system needs some improvement. Otherwise, it is perfect.

Great version of Go, both Chinese and Japanese rules. Translation into English is terrible with many words misspelled. Take the time to do some of the lessons first, because there is no difficulty setting and the game will cut you no slack.

This is the only Go app I've used that works well to play with another person, and also the only good 19x19 Go app.

GREAT for beginners; but not network gaming
I've had this app for a year now and I find that the network gaming with other users isn't really reliable, because of the app and the other users (they always quit so you never get a good match.)
However, if you're a beginner at playing Go, this app is EXCELLENT!! Stick to play the man-machine game (where you the computer program is your opponent) and you'll learn a lot and get to practice your tactical skills and techniques. BEST pro this app has is that the computer program starts ADAPTING to your style and habits, so you're constantly having to rethink your strategies and start learn how to adapt and out-think your opponent.

Rules?
Looks nice, and seems geared to teach the game to the inexperienced... Only problem is, there are no rules explained anywhere! In practice games it won't let you make "illegal" moves, but you're just guessing where to put the next piece. It's hard to figure out the strategy...

Almost unplayable
I gave one star because the gameplay in Go is not bad - until you get to the end game. Attempting to pass instead leads to automatic resignation, so there's no way to finish a game. This bug has existed for a long time, with no movement from the developers. Maybe the other games are better. Do not buy for Go.

Solid app!!
I rarely get on to compliment an application and generally find the fact that apps beg for ratings annoying but this app was such a good one that I felt more than compelled to take the time out to give it 4 stars! It would have been 5 but most users are very tough and it would be nice to have a "Beginners Lounge"

Good program - poor instructions
Trying to use this program is like feeling your way thru a dark room. There are strange icons whose purpose is unknowable. Some don't seem to do anything. There is extensive prose to explain the rules of go. This could be replaced with a few links to many places that do the same. There is no explanation of this program's user interface and no place else to look for it than here.

Great app
One thing I'd recommend is to merge the 9, 13, and 19 boards apps into one and just let people choose what size board they want to play on before a game begins. You can also consider having an "easy" setting that takes shorter to move. Even on normal the ai would destroy a beginning go player just learning the basics, and the wait will just add to that frustration.

Crashy
It crashes a lot and definitely lacks polish. There are some other players online that you can play with, but the average experience level is low and without a good rating system it doesn't compare to established go servers like IGS or KGS.
Messages are apparently translated, into very so-so English, but comprehensible.
If you have never played Go, and you want a free app to try the game for the first time this might be a good choice, if only it was more stable. A solid app with 1/10th the features would be far better.

Endless pass loop, crash, but ok for free
I got caught in the endless pass loop that others mentioned. Computer should not be able to pass. I don't know this game well but I played for over an hour on one game. It is better than another free version I tried.

Crashed after a few uses
Would work a couple times and then crashed upon restart of the game. Had to remove and reinstall to use it again. This crash and reinstall pattern will repeat. Same experiences on both iPhone and iPad.

Eh... Disappointed
I got the app so that I could practice playing 'go' when I was out and about. I found it very frustrating as there are no real instructions in English. The only way to use the app well is if you are already well versed in the game. I would not suggest it for beginners. Also, a frustrating addition that the app adds to the game is the 'Pass' button. This is all well and good when you are playing a friend, but it is incredibly unfair when you're trying to battle the computer. The computer can pass, but if you try to, you will find yourself in an endless back and forth of passes until you break and decide to play. It's ludicrous. The button should be disabled in man vs. machine. Otherwise there is no way to win.

Really great game of all the baduks and go games that I have tried.
The reason I rate it so low is because of the speed of the computer on hard level match, for every turn it has to take a long time to load. I am well experienced with this game because I have he actual board and know ow to play. PLEASE MAKE COMPUTER FASTER!!!

For the price (free) there is nothing better. Would like translation of database game titles. Crashed on my first game against computer. The AI isn't very strong.. and yet I like this app the best of any (free) apps so far.

Great database of go games
This App is loaded with a huge go game database. However, the display of game moves is manual step by step (or 15 moves) and does not equipped with automatic mode for each move. A paid version is still loaded with Ad which is annoying and should be replaced with move interpretation. Gaming engine is not strong. 謝依琝 is titled with two permanent titles, honored Female Meijin and honored Female Honinbo. She is the first one and probably the only one in Japan Igo history. Her games should be collected in the database but is not in this App right now.
