App not working, need it fixed!!App still does not work, looks like I will not renew my GHIN membership.

The partner refresh does not work. Dumb. A work around is to re-add and existing partner and that updates it. Absolutely horrible. Is this the best the USGA can do?

I use this to post all my scores. I also use it to calculate course handicap. If I'm playing with a friend we use it to determine how many strokes need to be given. This also calculates strokes if playing from different tees. An absolute necessity for all golfers. Great App!

Tough to use the app when you cannot post a score. So frustrating

I use this app to enter scores, check my handicap, and handicap of other players I play with. I use the partner function. Looks like the partner function is no longer working as all handicaps show April 1 as last update, and there have been 2 handicap updates since then.

Downloaded several times and it only lets me choose clubs in NJ that are 460 miles away from where I live. I can't even use the app.

My course isn't even in here, thanks for nothing.

This was a simple and convenient app to enter scores and look up handicaps. It adjusted me and to different tees which of course changes the handicap. Searching for my home course doesn't seem to work as there are only a few courses listed. Come on guys get this right

Says "golfer inactive"? No way to contact to find out what is going on, totally useless app.....

Terrible app. Have tried to load & reload multiple times and it still puts me in NJ. It will not let me locate my course or any course other than NJ. Please fix!!

I've used this app for a long time and loved it. Now I can't sign in, it says my local courses are in NY, I'm in Wyoming. It can't even find my local course when typed in. Too bad, I'll have to try something else.

Turn on "location services" to find your club. I did. I'm in TX. The clubs listed were in NJ and NY. Tried to look up my club by name. After the first letter it defaulted to "no such club." And the search button isn't usable. This despite the fact I enter my club name every week to enter a score.

Horrible and inept! And this (GHIN) is for paid members only? Ridiculous.

If the first 12,409 people writing you to tell you your app is awful. I'll add one more to the list. The only clubs you can get are New Jersey clubs. Seriously go find something else to do other than building apps.

iPhone 7 user here. I live in the southeast but the app only shows courses in NJ. I allowed location access and it still doesn't find courses nearby.

This is a great app which I use often and find it to be very convenient.

I would however like to see one modification. When reviewing the stats of guys I play golf with ("partners" in the app), the dates shown omit the day of the month making it difficult to remind "Freddie to post his record breaking 72 last Saturday". Oddly, when I review my own scores, the full date, including day of month is shown.

As a member of our club's handicap committee, I encourage peer review of posted scores. Making this modification will greatly enhance this ability.

Only finds clubs in New Jersey. Shows correct distance (~850 miles) so we know Location Services is working. On IPad only works in portrait mode. Gave it 2 stars since I can find a course in the Favorites section. Otherwise, only worth 1 star.

You are only able to search for clubs in NY & NJ. How about fixing the app so it works if you live anywhere else in the country.

Used to work great. Now it won't let me login- says that no membership is found for name and number. Get the same message on both my iPhone7 and iPad. Why I keep coming back to this app I don't know. This is the fourth or fifth time this has happened. I have i number and a name, yet it seems to forget me every couple of months.

The last 2 years the courses I usually play are slowly going away & slope & rating were always wrong. Now today, the course is there but no tees to pick from to post. Last year I could only post a score if playing from forward tees. Now I can't even post a score without doing it manually. Wrote to them last year & they couldn't understand women can play from something other than forward tees. Gave them the info & still nothing!

If I try to look up my club to get my Handicap, the only courses that are listed are in NJ which is 1,000 miles away, What the F.

I can't find my local club, search functionality is awful.

When I first downloaded the app, it worked. But once I close the app in the background (double tap home and swipe the app up) it won't let me open the app again. I get an "unable to complete task. Try again later" notification. I'm on iOS 10.0.2. Please fix this and I'll change my rating.

It's a pretty mediocre app when it is working; as others have mentioned, it should use GPS. But right now it only works for me over wifi. Can't connect error over LTE. That's for me on my iPhone 7 plus. But my friend on his 5S doesn't have this problem.

Once in a blue moon this app will open, usually I get an error stating "unable to connect" please fix it. This has only started happening to me since I got my iPhone 7 with new operating system.

Ugh. Can't start app. Get can't connect message.

I have used this app for years and thought it was decent.

Last month I upgraded to an iPhone 7 and now I'm unable to connect unless connected to a wifi.

I have tried everything, deleting the app and downloading it again multiple times.

The only other work around I have found is going into settings turning off the apps ability to use cellular data. Logging into the app and it says I need to change the data settings and brings me right back to the settings and I turn the data back on and it works for that one time. Afterwards it won't work again.

Says Unable to connect.

I used to love this app. I've used it for a few years. All of a sudden, I get this message "Unable to connect. Task can not be completed at this time. Please try again later". I have restarted my phone, deleted the app and reinstalled. It worked again for about a week. Now I've deleted it and reinstalled over 5 times. Same message. Please fix this app. I usually post and look up partners handicaps twice per week

Every time I log on it says cannot connect try again later. It's not my phone I have the iPhone 7 and service threw Verizon!! Please fix this !!!

When I use the app, my biggest issue is my swing. 😭

Ap is ok to track your own. But if you play in a large group and enter everyone in it doesn't update their handicaps. Have to look them up every time handicaps update.

You can enter a score but that is about it. None of the search functions work. Disappointing overall.

The app never works unless I delete it and reinstall it, then it works once and I have to start over. The GHIN website is always down, so it's impossible to enter my scores.

This used to work. Now when I search for clubs near me all I get is clubs in NJ. I'm in Atlanta. If I put a club name in it can't find it.

Have been using this app for about a month. Seems to do what is supposed to. As far as finding my course, there is no GPS however searching by state then alphabetically is easy enough. Then just save to favorite course, easy sneezy.

Unlike most other apps, when I try to find my club near me (allowing Location Services), this one has a bug assuming I'm in New Jersey, without ability to search for my club by name. My location still puts me at an accurate distance from the NJ clubs listed, 100's of miles away, but I can't search for my club near me. I've tried re-installing the app, to no avail. Fix soon! It is great that you can post a score immediately after a round. Its even better that you can do it on an iPhone instead of using a computer. So why doesn't the app use the GPS built in the phone to find any nearby golf courses? Why should I have to type in the golf course name when I know that my phone knows EXACTLY where I am?

Come on, man! That should have been the first thing that they hung on the app. Add that to the app and the rating goes up to 4 stars.

I had the same problem as others. App crashing, can't log in, rejecting my correct password. It appears to be working again after my most recent download.

I have always loved the app and I have never had problems with it until now. It doesn't let me sign in saying "no membership information found for this number and last name". It lets me log in online so it's definitely the app. Please fix and I will change my review.

This is really a great app. It takes a while to figure out all the features, like adding in partners and seeing their indexes, but this is still such a nice app. A must for playing away rounds.

Back to a 5* rating now that it works again.

I thought about making it only 4* due to the length of time it was down, but truthfully, when it is working it is a great app!

Same issue as all the reviews before me. The app works well when the servers are up and running. Still having issues trying to post within the app (no membership) are the results I am getting. Hopefully the app is back up and running soon.

Glad I tried to reinstall. Seeing the reviews about the problem with the server saved me hours of trying to figure out the problem. Thanks to all who noted in their reviews. This app is great when it is working.

Would have been nice to have received and email stating the issues with the sever , versus me spending hours , rebooting my phone , uninstalling and reinstalling the App , trying to figure out if there were issues with membership ...please get this figured out , and once so ..

I can't think of a more pointless App than one that doesn't acknowledge your membership. Sadly I used to be able to post scores and check handicaps. Now it is a waste of space serving no purpose. I have deleted it and may try to reinstall it later on. For now I will just access the website. There should be a special rating you can give to an app that you can't open. At that point it should be rated as "not an app" or pseudo app. Why is it even available? I gave it 1 star because it won't let me dive less.

They should post something here but the website says under reconstruction and to post online for now. The messages we are receiving is what they posted for us to see but our accounts are not the issue.

App works fine, although it is completely down right now. I really wish they would have some GPS functionality to find the courses near you and make it a bit easier than hunting through. The searching is pretty awful as well, unless you get the first part of the course correct (The Golf Club vs Golf Club) it won't find the course.

When it was working, it was great. Easy to input scores right after rounds and see impact on handicap. Just recently, like others have noted, it's not working. At first it was saying that there was no person with my GHIN # and name. Then I deleted it from my phone, then loaded it again. Now it never makes a connection, saying that there's no internet connection, even though I do have a connection on my phone. Hopefully, this bug will be corrected.

I've used this app for years with only the minor complaint of a few missing courses. A few days ago it completely stopped working just as golf season is starting up again. PLEASE make it work again- I'm begging you. I thought it would just be off line for a few hours but with every passing day I get more upset.

I received an e-mail from the TN Golf Assoc. stating app is unavailable at this time and is affecting all across the country. The USGA is working on a fix but there is no est. on when this will happen. As you found out, it is only the mobile app and scores can still be posted on your computer.

I'm having the same issue. Started acting really buggy this past Saturday when trying to look up partners and course handicap. Kept coming back with "no results" and then sporadically inputting the course info. At the end of the round it wouldn't let me post my score, same issue (couldn't find the course or remember it when it came time to post). Then ultimately app came back saying it couldn't find me as a member on its system. There must be a problem with the GHIN server. No way to contact GHIN or app developer.

UPDATE:

I just received an email back from Texas Golf Assn. GHIN is aware of problem (started this weekend) and working on fixing it. Assuming they get it back up soon I am revising review to 5 stars as it is a great app when working.

Normally this app is great. However over the weekend it has stopped working. Sometimes when opening it just spins and never opens, eventually saying an Internet connection is lost. Other times it will state that there is no membership for this person.

Just a heads up so someone can fix this.

I've always liked this app and have never had any problems with it until today. All of a sudden, it's saying "no membership information found for this number and last name." The GHIN number displayed on the screen is correct and my name is spelled correctly as well. I visited the website to post a score, and didn't have any trouble there. Have no idea how to contact the app developers to report this bug — hopefully, they read these reviews and will fix the problem soon.

This app takes all the guesswork (and sandbagging) out of the discussion on the first tee! Can handle any golfer with an index and any teeing ground combinations. Take the time to learn how it works and FINALLY there are no more arguments over who gets what. I prefer this app to the online version. Excellent job. Thx.

Just downloaded the app and was able to post a score very easily... The process was very intuitive and seamless. I was also able to verify/compare my index an course handicap with ease

(against the latest update).. From what I can see this will make posting scores a breeze and easier than posting from my laptop when the course computer is down or in use... Currently the app tries to load, but tells you that you're not connected to the internet. Once this problem is resolved the app will be a very useful app again .. However until then it is merely a place holder...I originally rated the app at 5 stars but lowered it to 3 until the log-in problem is resolved..

This most recent (9 Sep) version worked out of the box with no crashes. X and Y values for graphs are there but unobtrusive if you don’t see there’s a value in graphs. Additional partners is also nice. Looking quite polished now especially on iPhone.

This version still is slow to load. When you go to stats it still takes way too long to allow you to scroll through scores. When trying to view partners stats the drop down scroll bar is slow to load. Charts still add no value, shortening them does nothing to improve the app. I like that reviews are being listened to, but need a better effort on the results. Sorry, I love the app prior to the last two updates. Bring the old app back please!!!

Until yesterday all was well and now app crashes completely whenever it is opened. I uninstalled/reinstalled three times, rebooted phone but no change... c'mon Ghin help this out.

Otherwise -- I was quite happy although agree that space for number of partners should be increased significantly as well as ability to shift course selection when determining h'caps.

Everything works great! The only two things I'd like to see changed are more partners in the handicap section as I play weekly games with 40+ guys and would like to just change the course and tees versus adding all the players every single time, multiple times. Great job with the automatic tee differential calculations for each handicap! The second suggestion is a bit nit-picky but in the search option for players and courses you have my state listed at the top which is nice...how about just making it the default so we don't need to select it for every score posting, player search etc! Thanks guys for all the work and putting the calculator back on the main page for quick access on the first tee!!!

Great app for inputting scores, but all the reviews are correct. The course search option needs upgraded. And when selecting a Recent course, there should be an option to switch the tees you played from previously. One more thing, when my Ghin card shows up in the window, I should be able to send that to anyone in a simple one click.

When posting a score you search by name. I'll get multiple courses with that name but no city and state to verify which is correct. When you select one, there is still no verification just tees with slope and rating. The course city and state needs to be added so you know you are posting a score to the correct place.

This is a very useful app. I love being able to enter scores on my phone right away rather than going back to the pro shop or remembering to do it when I get home. The new GHIN card view is a great addition.

I love that this app keeps my handicap accurately all year and updates monthly. For all you unable to post scores from Nov-Mar it's because it's winter season and you cannot update your handicap during this time. This goes for a lot of states in the freeze zone. Check your local course/state

This app lacks even basic content and reporting capability for casual groups of golfers. The app does not sync with a members web site (such as partners). This requires manual and individual look ups of indexes to run a golf group. I entered through settings (individually) 43 partners profiles using manual look up. Results showed indexes. They are not updated today. Handicap calculations are limited to 5 players as partners (why). None of this info is linked back to my on line profile or worse reporting capability. All this results in manual look ups twice a month. Why bother. This app and system are light years behind the times unless I am missing something. Looking for an on line help tool or phone number is a quest in failure.

I downloaded it and posted a score, no problem. There were other features available too, like calculating a course handicap, looking up other player's handicaps, etc. The app took me to my state assoc site (Oregon--OGA). Maybe that is why some people had problems, that the state assoc site was faulty. OGA site worked fine.

A few clicks after a round and my score is posted. Quick, easy, especially when posting for frequently-played courses.

Don't understand the negative reviews, it just works.

The app does what it's supposed to. The ability to log scores, and keep up with handicap is the beauty of this app. It's easy to use. It would be nice if you could look up your GHIN number. That's the only reason I didn't give it 5 stars. Everyone else is being to picky. Download it...period

Need to be able to delete and add courses in MY Courses,. Brings up ones yopu haven't played in a long time. Especiially when you go on trips and will never play them again. Also has a bug that keeps you from logging in occassionally.

I don't know what all the complaints are about. I downloaded this app while traveling with Friends on a golf trip. It works perfect! Easily finds every course we are playing in 3 different states. Easy to post your score, shows all my previously posted scores with in the GHIN system automatically. I love it.

How do I get my Club to authorize posting of scores? My golf pro doesn't know anything about the app. As for adding partners, I see where you can do it just to look up their tee handicap one time. I think it would be easier if you could keep them on your partner list and it updated their index each time you logged on that way you didn't have to look it up each time you played.

I have had great luck with this on my iPhone. This is a simple app and it seems to do what it is supposed to. This makes it much easier to post scores than going to the actual website on my phone.

I used this to enter a score for an out-of-state course. I did not have any trouble, it was easy to do and quick. I was able to quickly find a course handicap for my foursome.

There could be a lot more bells and whistles but it is a great simple app

This is a good app. At least for now it's worked great for me. It does exactly what you need. I don't know what people are having problems with it. You can easily find the courses you need or play regularly and can easily post your score.

When working, this app does an adequate job of posting scores and displaying score history.

Unfortunately it is unreliable. I am locked out and can't log in. I tried deleting the app and reinstalling but no luck. Meanwhile I can still post scores at the club and am receiving correct updates. Oh yeah, the log in screen has no contact info or button to get help when you can't get in.

For me, this application loaded and works just fine and as advertised. I have a few recommendations that would make this an easier and better app.. First, when posting a score it would be helpful to not have to have the exact name of the course. I left the word "Club" off the end of a name and it came up with no matching courses. It would be great if after typing most of the name a pop-up would appear with a bunch of names from which to chose the correct course. Second, the slide scale button that you move back and forth on a horizontal scale that applies your index to a slope scale, acts a little squirrely - it's jumpy and it's hard to move the scale's button to the exact slope number. The plus and minus key can only be use once ( you can't push the key multiple times to adjust the slope, e.g. going from a 127 setting to a 129 or 130). It would be a lot easier to just type a slope number and it would calculate the handicap for that number. Third, the print is very small. For anyone over the age of 50, you better have your readers with you, otherwise you're toast. The easy fix would to increase the font size.
