Wow. This is so great

Packed with features, not all of them are obvious. Be sure to watch the tutorial on YouTube. Keep pausing and rewinding till you get all the basic features. This thing is so much fun and quite powerful. It just works well.

Useful but ...it needs a better way enter pitch values the keyboard is tricky to use

This daw for 8 bit music has an awesome song mode! But the voice structure and interface although I FINALLY figured out how to use it..needs an upgrade . Peace christo

Simple but great.

I’ve had this a while and it really is a fun little sequencer. I never used it much but I pulled it out and recorded some random sounds into it for a drum beat and I fell in love. I’m a perfectionist with my music and tend to get caught up with effects, mixing and making things sound just right. This takes most of those distractions away and allows me to get back to basics and I can enjoy myself more.

Guaranteed to put a smile on your face

This app is just so much fun! It’s a great way to break out of that oppressive rut when I start to take my music making too seriously. Like picking up a ukulele after modal jazz scales on guitar all day or something. 😎

Not to mention, if you want to go all nerdy after all that, you can Import the song into SunVox as a great kickstart to a project there.

Just get it! It’s way too fun to pass up!

Very fun and easy way to lay out ideas

Pleasantly surprised at how easy this app is. I think the load/save sound(s) being on the opposite page is a strange design choice, but not too painful. all in all, it does a pretty decent job of letting you build out an idea quickly... import and export features are very welcome as well.

Exactly what it claims to be.

Update: Still one of the most fun, quick n' dirty sequencers for iOS. Great little track maker. I never have regrets over buying a Zolotov app. They are some of the best you can get. I love Korg Gadget, but still have Pixitracker, Sun Vox, and Virtual ANS on my phone. They're too unique to delete.

Having played with this app for a bit, I am now writing a review. Normally I wait a bit longer, but not this time. I got this app because I remembered the amazing product that was Sun Vox. I never got to fully utilize that monster. I got rid of my iPod and closed my iTunes account and when I opened it back up, Sun Vox was no longer there. I miss it.

I got pixitracker because it's $2 and I like what Mr. Zolotov produces. I love it. I said love. It is perfect if you own the Moog filtatron or the animoog. The fact that you can import your own sounds and then use audio copy/paste from other apps just destroys most other apps in this category. It is not as full featured as some of the other apps but it more than makes up for that with it's simplicity and functionality. The only thing that would be cool to have in an update would be a tile editor to create your own pixel tiles. Maybe it already has it and I just haven't found it yet. Having the option to rearrange the pixel animation screen would be welcome, also.

If you have the moog filtatron, record something into it, filter and modify it, and then paste it into the pixitracker. Repeat.

Now, say goodbye to the rest of your life.

Fun little tracker

It's so appreciated that this silly little tracker continues to get updated. Such a fun app and it has been on my iPad for years now. Very easy to use and get interesting sounding sequences and phrases out of.

Such a fun app!

Pixitracker is really fun. I had a killer little groove going in the first moments of opening the app.

The user interface is intuitive and curiosity seems to be rewarded quickly. I'll definitely keep using this for fun on the run and a food source for the Octatrack !

This app is awesome! It takes a while for updates, but you have plenty to work with until they arrive. No complaints, but I would like a way to change the decay rate of notes. Unless there already is a way to hold out notes that I just haven't stumbled upon yet. If that's the case, then ignore my comment! Great app guys!

I made an album with it.

once you get used to the interface ( e.g. Y-axis is synth voice, not pitch). It's hours of booping.

FTP over your own samples for extra f-f-f-fr-fr-freshness. Yep read the instructions you can do it.

THIS APP AND PIXITRACKER 1BIT ARE AMAZING!!!

Your apps, "Pixitracker" and "Pixitracker 1Bit" are AMAZING. I use them to make songs of my own and absolutely LOVE every single feature of both of them. This app and 1Bit are flawless, it deserves way more than 5 stars. It's so easy to create a short little beat, or a full fledged out song! My only request is that you allow the user to transfer their .piximod files into .mp3 files, other than that... THESE APPS ARE AMAZING 😆😆😆. Now, to try out SunVox!

Chip tunes!

I love retro tunes and being able to create your own is amazing! This app is simple to use and allows you to sequence small segments together into a song. I love the 8-bit, 16 bit sounds. If you like creating video game tunes from the NES days then PixiTracker is for you.

Great and underrated

I love pixietracker because I can make a custom rhythm very quickly and it's timing is dead on. As many musicians would agree, the drummer in the band is the central tempo setter so a drummer with fluctuating timing just won't do! I appreciate the rock solid timing in this instrument and highly value ALL Mr. Z has contributed to the IOS music scene. Thanks for a superb, simple, precise, and still very creative tool!

Great, but could use improvements

So far this is the best built music composer I've found in the app store. It's very well designed but there are a few things that bother me:

- The notes are half a step lower by default than the actual note on the piano. I always have to increase the tuning.

- You can't do tri-step beats. Everything has to be on a bi-step basis.

- The tv-view thing could be implemented better. It's not too accurate of a depiction of the sounds.

Love.

It can get very complex if you want to explore. I like making beats more than "songs" with it. The best part? (To me.) My two year old daughter (who always wakes before me and grabs my phone) uses this app every morning. I get to wake up to a song she made almost every day. That is incredible! Thank you Alexander!!
