The app NEVER works to watch live tv. I have uninstalled and reinstalled it. I have deleted the app completely. It never works. It barely works to watch any episodes of any show. I do not understand how absolutely no one at NBC can fix this app. Considering how many people stream tv, you’d think they would invest actual funds into this app but I guess that would just make too much sense.

Right in the middle of a show's dialog the sound goes off then the commercials play followed by the show starting from before the sound went off.
Nobody at NBC must watch their shows or certainly someone would correct the problem.
This is extremely irritating and needs to be corrected.

Update 4/12/24: previously I was able to keep live TV streaming on in the background while I did other things on my phone, but with the latest update this option cuts off after a minute or two. Makes it very inconvenient to try and do anything if I want to watch msnbc or any other live show. Please fix asap.

The app seems very Beta. The MSNBC app was easier and more stable. AirPlay to my Samsung TV is continuously going off track, and with the iPhone won’t last more than 60 seconds.

I realize that ads pay the costs of airtime. That said; could it be that, once I have seen the ad for A) $0.87 pseudo-viagra (too late, I’m 79), B) the opportunity to sell any $100,000 or greater life insurance policy, or. C) a way to get a colon test kit ad FOR THE 1,000TH TIME ,… the ad would be replaced by 1) a bunch of puppies playing “H ey, smell this!”… 2) kittens just being kittens … 3) parrots singing show tunes… ofr… 4) my mom praising Rush Limbaugh {luckily, they are BOTH dead}?? Please, I am crazy enough as it is!
Did I not mention the lady who joyfully screams at her peak volume and pitch the fact that she spent greater than SIXTEEN THOUSAND DOLLARS for a fiberglass walk-in bathtub. Her actor/husband doesn’t appear in any way joyful,

I rarely write reviews but this one really frustrates me. It works great on my phone but when played in my Fire TV it glitches so much. It suddenly kicks me out of the app or it slows down so much I have to force stop the app to make it work for a few minutes and then try again until I get tired and just give up and either switch to my phone which is not the ideal or stop watching and move on to another app.

Why are major broadcaster apps some of the most unreliable streaming apps, especially with account and TV provider login. I can’t recall when it started but it will never open/load the first time, only the NBC logo. I always have to close/reopen it. Doesn’t matter if I open the app from Home Screen or Up Next. The UI also doesn’t work properly with ATV 4K remote. I used the return button to go to the “HOME” tab and can’t scroll down, only to the right. These apps are infuriating. There needs to be standards in place. How I miss being able to watch NBC shows on Hulu. 3/24 UPDATE: Home page still doesn’t load below main display and can’t move selection downward. Why are major broadcast streaming apps some of the most problematic apps and take ages to fix/update. Other streaming apps and tvOS aren’t flawless either, but far from this.
