Description

The myAudi app (1) helps connect your Audi with your daily routine and can bring more driving comfort into your life through innovative functions and services.
With an active Audi connect (2) trial or subscription on eligible vehicles, you can access your vehicle's real-time information, and help keep abreast of your vehicle’s status (3), fuel level, estimated driving range, and lots more. Use your app to conveniently plan trips and send routes and destinations directly to your vehicle. Even climate control, as well as locking and unlocking your vehicle doors, can be operated via the app. (Depending on the model and the equipment packages of your Audi, availability of features and services may vary.)
AN OVERVIEW OF FUNCTIONS AND BENEFITS:
Audi connect (2) services include features such as:
• Access to important vehicle data such as fuel level, estimated driving range, or oil level — directly on your mobile device
• Lock and unlock your vehicle remotely (4)
• Explore other features like speed alerts, geofencing, and valet alerts (5)
• Give your family, friends, or colleagues access to your Audi
Navigation
• Send destinations and routes from your compatible mobile device to your vehicle
• Plan your routes, including walking route, to your vehicle
• Access contacts, addresses, and your calendar from your vehicle
Service
• Schedule a service appointment with your preferred dealer and keep an eye on maintenance needs (6)
• Access your digital owner's manual via the app
• Keep track of your trips in the mileage tracker
You must register on myAudi to use the Audi connect services. Certain services require the completion of a key user contract for full access. The availability of services may vary, depending on the model and equipment of your Audi. The myAudi app is provided by the importer for the applicable market. See the app legal notice for details about the importer.
Some functions depend on third-party providers and may not be available without restrictions at all times or in every country. We recommend a flat-rate high-speed data package to use our services – the applicable costs depend on your contract with the network operator. If you do not have a fast enough data connection, you may not get the full benefit of the features. Please also note any data volume restrictions imposed by your mobile service provider.
Running GPS continuously in the background can reduce the battery life.

(2) Always pay careful attention to the road, and do not drive while distracted. Audi connect should only be used when it is safe and appropriate. Audi connect services and features are optional, provided with the support of authorized affiliated and third party service providers, and may require additional subscriptions with separate terms and conditions. Google Earth features will not be available after December 2020 for Model Year 2018 & prior vehicles. Google Earth is a trademark of Google Inc. Connect services are subject to technologies remaining commercially available, such services are not guaranteed, and may not be available after 2021 for equipped MY17-20 vehicles.

What happened to AFS?

I used to use this app to make payments b/c there was the ability to connect to AFS through the app. I liked how easily you could view payment history and how many payments were remaining; however, the ability to connect to AFS was removed months ago and has not returned. Even the ability to connect to the dealership to schedule an appt does not work. Seems as though this app needs a lot of work/improvement.

Trash app made for scammers

Everything said and told by Audi were lies!!
The car dealership and Audifs. They work unisons to scam more money out of you. Wanted to return a lease 1 month early so I didn’t have to pay the last payment since I had extremely low mileage. Many dealerships like these kind of low mileage vehicles to be returned so they sometimes will purchase the lease from Audifs but they cannot do that without the vehicle. 1st I was told by Audifs that when I return the vehicle early the recurring payments would stop and between 2-12 weeks I’ll get the final bill. If the vehicle worth was more than I owned then I’ll get a check and if less then I get the adjustment. When I talked to the dealership they just play stupid and said I only have 2 options where I do a trade in for another lease or just do an early return. Little did I know that was the 2nd part of this trick. I didn’t want to get another lease as the dealership quote me $114K for a Audi S3. Once I returned the vehicle the dealership immediately purchased the vehicle from Audifs and I got notified by Audifs about the remaining payments on the same day. Now I’m left without a car and I still have to pay the last payment.

This app is crap

I have driven Audi since 2018 and my app has always worked perfectly. I have had the Q4 since the end of January and the app work well for a few weeks. Last week - nothing on the app works. It says “never updated” “updated failed” “no data available” What is going on Audi????

Would give this 0 stars if I could

Recently purchased a car from Audi and tried to connect the app to my car and it’s been so unnecessarily difficult! I don’t understand, for the price that we pay for the car, why can’t the company hire good app developers to develop the app or give it upgrades to make it easier for its customers to use??!!
I’ve tried a dozen times trying to connect my phone to the car and it’s just not working!!! So frustrating

Piece of garbage

I’ve had my new Audi for a week now. In that time, despite my best efforts and those of the Audi dealership, I have yet to be able to use either My Audi or Audi Connect. I wouldn’t pay for a subscription to this piece of junk even under torture.

Awful - don’t bother updating your app if it’s working

Just updated to the most the most recent version of the app, and so much is broken. I can no longer monitor my vehicle and it isn’t able to connect to retrieve information. Nothing works to fix it as a user. Can’t believe this poor quality of an app for such expensive, luxury vehicles!

I haven’t even download the app from just reading the reviews. I think I’m just gonna add on to a one star. I also am extremely annoyed with the developer response. It’s so basic and it’s literally like customer service 101. Let’s just reply to everyone and say wow we’re sorry for the experience you’re having please contact us. With all due respect no one is going to contact you. You’re not worth our time either fix your app or just get lost. Focus more on developing better software than constantly replying to people about issues that seem to not even be resolved. It’s actually embarrassing that you guys are the face of Audi. Go figure it out stop acting like a little baby. “Sorry for the experience your having let me just give you our number so your on hold for 2 hours and tell us your complain because we genuinely care so much”

I own a Audi and am considering bmw bc of their customer service and genuine appreciation for the customers. I’m not just saying that either it’s the principle.
Imagine spending $85,000 on a car and giving up the five year old kid can develop in his bedroom.
Also, for all of you, that are curious, this app is useless. There’s literally nothing good on it. All you could do is lock your car and unlock it and maybe check your fuel range LOLLLLL
So luxurious, my grandmas Honda Civic can start her car from Siri.

Glitchy

Screens don’t render properly on iPhone X. The complete setup button glades a screen then the screen recedes and it is literate impossibly to complete the setup. I’ve spent far to much time trying to get this to work. It should be intuitive and reliable. It is neither.

It has potential

It has potential when it’s not broken. I can turn on the climate control but that it. I can’t see the status of my etron. I get an SSL error. I have restarted the phone and uninstalled the app and reinstalled. I refuse to delete my key user account because I don’t want to have to go to a dealership.

Updated: When the app works, it’s good. But it rarely works

Audi did get back to me to say they will forward this feedback to the developers, which is appreciated. But I do think that Audi is well aware that there is a major issue on their server side as well as the app, and they ought to be investing heavily to fix it so that they can be competitive with far cheaper brands, let alone other luxury brands.
Audi, please fix this app. It’s particularly terrible for your EVs where we’d like to for example turn the cabin temperature on 10 mins before leaving home. The app is so temperamental. It will work for two weeks, stop working for two weeks. Work on one car, not work on another. It really needs work. Considering how expensive some of your cars are, this is really unacceptable.

Beyond Disappointed

I’ve been a loyal Audi customer since 2012 and my experience with this app has been atrocious. I was first introduced to it after replacing my Q5 with the etron in November of last year. From the beginning, I received error messages periodically stating that the app couldn’t connect to my vehicle. Each time I called the dealership, they mentioned that a potential fix was coming soon and to keep checking back. Finally I enjoyed a few weeks of connectivity but lately, none of my vehicle data will load. I spent almost an 1 1/2 of my time on hold with customer service but hung up because no one picked up. Who has time for that? I’m a busy mom of a toddler who sees patients everyday. Do better, Audi!

Not many useful features, connectivity issue

I’ve tried using this app the last few weeks, and disappointed in lack of remote features and buggy. Sometimes I’ll be using another app on my iPhone and the Audi app will suddenly switch to the foreground either complaining of a connection error or as if I selected an option like comfort settings. In contrast to My Chevrolet app that is slow but at least has more features like remote lock/unlock, horn or flash lights, and easier to remote start.

Rarely works or connects to the car. Functionality is limited. Garbage app. It’s crazy that such a techy car company has such an awful app.
Furthermore, the canned developer responses are pointless and offer little to no help. Please, Audi, choose another app developer. Your customers deserve better.

Audi continues to disappoint and they need better software engineers

As many of the forums will say, currently Audi is having an outage for their app. For electric vehicles this is particularly troublesome as many of the activities are controlled in there, including setting timers for charging. It is sad that such an expensive car is hobbled by poor design.

Charging and now won’t connect to car.

With the latest update, I can no longer adjust timers or charging target. This is definitely a step backwards. This was solved and then everything broke on last update. Can’t connect to vehicle. Refreshed app, logged off and on, connected by wire to car. Nothing. The Etron itself has been solid but there is something seriously wrong with Audi’s ability to QA to releases.

Great when the Audi server actually lets you communicate with your car

The Audi app itself is fine, and you can pretty much accomplish all the things you need to do daily easily. The layout is also easy to navigate.
The recurring problem is that many, many times you can’t actually communicate with the car because the Audi server is down. This is very frustrating when you can’t initiate a charging timer and/or precondition the cabin, temperature wise. It has occurred throughout the three years I’ve owned my etron; Audi is obviously aware of the issue, and yet it still happens frequently.
This lack of communication is not on the user end, as I have a robust high speed fibre internet service at home that has never gone down in the time I’ve owned the car; ( thanks, Google Fiber), and a modern iPhone with excellent 4/5G connectivity.
What’s a real shame is that BMW; Tesla, etc. have no issues keeping a robust data connection to the car continuously it seems, but somehow Audi can’t. They need to do better.

Extremely unreliable

The app is spotty at best. Without heads up it stops working for days at a time if not weeks.
You can never count on it. May get rid of the car too as you don’t expect a premium car in 2023 comes with an unusable app. Support is more of a joke. Open a case with them and they get back to you in 3 months.

It’s a downgrade with each update

I do have an older Audi 2018, but why do you keep taking away things? It doesn’t even list the vehicle specs anymore. All is left is the owner’s manual.
The least you could do is to provide a maintenance history and recommended maintenance schedule, especially given that l am paying a premium for each visit with your dealer.
I changed dealership for maintenance due to work location. Was not aware they didn’t have my maintenance records with the old Audi dealer service, and went with a recommended brake fluid flush which cost close to $300. With it having to do with the brakes and not wanting to wait/go back for another appointment, went with it. They also recommended a routine maintenance which I defer as I believe I had it already done. On later review of records, the brake fluid flush was part of the maintenance I had a year ago and is not due for almost another year and not due for another maintenance for another 10000 miles!
Now needing to get touch up paint but the color information is no longer available in the app!

Can’t connect to my etron

Some days it works some days it doesn’t. Have tried everything possible to trouble shoot, but has not connected to my car for 4 days now. Climate control fails every time, I can’t do any charging planning, absolute train wreck of a service. Don’t buy the subscription!!! The Audi dealer says there is nothing wrong with my car. The service on the other hand is almost always down.

Insufficient

Even without the added on features from the subscriptions, the most basic of functions for this app does not work consistently. At first it was only the charging time to target battery level feature that didn’t work consistently. This feature hasn’t worked in weeks now. Called customer service and can never get anyone of the phone. More responsive via email, but support service will just say they are updating the system. They seem just as frustrated. Ability to pre control climate before you drive no her works. Most annoying is the app will not display charging stations. It’s an EV, charging stations are kind of important. Instead, I have to rely on other apps when Audi should improve their issues to make a more centralized driving and charging experiences for customers.
Takes forever for the E-Trons to release, you’d think they would have been working on this in all that time!

Pretty embarrassing for a company like Audi

This app is a disaster. It kind of sometimes worked for a while (we’ve had our e-tron for 4 months) for very basic functions like checking battery/range status. It seems like each time they “update” the app it gets worse. This last update won’t even let me connect to the car and says it’s never been updated. Very frustrating after paying the amount of money we did for this car. Is Audi hiring its developers off of Fiver or something? Seriously, get your act together.

Great car - Horrible app

I got my new Audi Q4 a couple weeks ago. The car is a beauty and I absolutely love it. The app is a complete disappointment. The functionalities it offers are pretty basic and some do not even work. I have been talking to my dealer and their support team for 10 days about their ‘Connect’ service. Nobody can make it work. There are many, many comments in Audi Forums about basic things that the app could do with some basic development. I cannot understand how a luxury brand like Audi cannot figure those out: * lock / unlock car * set start / stop time to charge car * access car cameras remotely Something that would be an incredible delighter is to provide statistics and insights on my drives: what I call Strava for my car. What was my consumption on each of my drives? How much time / miles do I spend on certain routes? How much electricity did I consume due to heating vs. driving? How am I doing with regen? If my Garmin watch can do it, I am sure you could figure it out. Until then, please get out of your mind, charging a subscription fee for services that do not work and you do not know how to support.

Subpar

I don’t understand. It’s 2023. The app is “ok”, but all of the links to Audi like upgrading the Connect subscription are all garbage. Not user or mobile friendly whatsoever. I’m trying to give Audi more money on top of the $80k car that I have, and instead of making it seamless and simple, the renewal section is impossible to find, and when I finally found the place to enter the order (I think?), the site either can’t handle the order right now or it’s down completely.
I rented a Toyota van in Montana to accommodate skis this past week and their app is leaps and bounds ahead of the Audi app/website. Why is a bargain brand so advanced and easy to use compared to my luxury brand vehicle’s app? So very frustrating. It should be an all around luxury experience including the app and website but it falls far short of that.

Needs work

App has a lot of potential - particularly for charging. Timer function had stopped working but now works just not with as much functionality as before. Now the start charing imediately is not working so you need to work around that by changing timer to something that forces it to start charging. Needs to have the function where charging to a set % ASAP is possible. Also for some reason my user data is frequently being updated (?) and the MMI will bug you to allow it to update itself with this new info. If you allow this then the MMi becomes unvaliable for several minutes. Whats with the many updates to my profile and why can't it auto update in the background?

Introducing bugs and breaking functionality is not okay

Have an Etron and we use the app to plan starting and planning charging remotely. Sometimes for climate control starting on hot or cold days. For the past month every time we tried to connect to these things that were previously working, got an error. Finally had time to reach out to customer service today and they said “ oh yeah, there is a bug in the app since November, we know. Sorry.” How is this acceptable? Do you not test your apps before pushing them out to the public ? That is what TestFlight is for Audi! Stupid to spend so much money on a vehicle for connected technology and for it to be broken by the app.
In response to Audi…I did reach out to support before writing my review, hence my comments above. What good is messaging again, so I can hear them tell me again it is a known bug? Just fix it and let me know when it is fixed. That is how you get a better review. Better product and customer service that is proactive.

So frustrating. A terrible experience.

I bought a Q3 in 2022. This app is just the final punch in the face after what was several frustrating blows in terms of technology as an Audi owner.
The app is mostly trying to sell me a car. It should recognize I’m an owner and build my experience around that.
Second. The app auto-launches whenever I get in the car. No matter what else I’m doing on my phone- texting, entering maps, searching for someplace once— it’s interrupted by the app opening. I can’t find any way to turn off this feature.
Also the app doesn’t let me control many things in the car. The whole MMI integration with my iphone as well as the Audi app, is non-intuitive, clunky and even sometimes dangerous. Audi’s entire technology and user experience should be overhauled with user experience put first.

I don’t know if is the app or the car but I’m a Audi E-tron 2022 customer, I’m having a problem to charge the car and also to schedule charging times an example I charge my car overnight from 12:00am to 7:00am leaving time 7:00am and the schedule timer isn’t working I fixed the string on my car scheduling a personalized schedule for my home and still the same, I went to my preferred dealer The Collection Audi and the service advisor says that the car was ok and there’s no problem with the car, after the service the car still the same I can’t charge with the schedule I set on my preference now I have to set an alarm on my phone to go an conecta my car to the charger, please is there’s a problem with the app I need a resolution for that problem because is frustrating not getting the Benefit of schedule charging. Also I think that the app should have an option for off pick hours like another chargers.

Please fix this app!

First off I get the feeling the developers don’t care about this app considering Audi is a luxury car brand. I am on my 3rd Audi which is a Q5 and I still own an A5. This app is basically useless which has been echoed in nearly every post/review. That shows us this isn’t an area of focus for this brand. Prior to my last 3 cars I owned a GM vehicle which had an amazing App not to mention Remote Start! That’s a whole other issue. But the GM app was pretty flawless! Always up to date, shows when the car is locked or unlocked clearly.
This app is basically full of links that take you away from the app LOL! At the price point of these vehicles I expect way more! Now I will be considering BMW or Mercedes Benz. I don’t think this company realizes how important this app is and could be. I’m sure there will be a Generic Response from the developers ha ha

Just not there

I’ve owned my Audi Etron for well over a year now and over the course of time the my Audi application has had numerous communications issues because of outages at Audi. I pay additional for the top tier subscription, outside of the 4G hotspot which works, the reliability is terrible. Simply refreshing to see battery status, lock and unlock or changing the charge level cannot be done. Considering the car is extremely expensive, the least Audi can do is make a reliable back end system to have their customers communicate with their cars. It is unacceptable. I’ve been unable to use remote functions for weeks now, and forget it when I needed to wait the better part of a year to add an additional driver to MMI..

Latest update broke timer and charge %

For the last week I have been unable to turn the car to timer mode and unable to set the target charge percent. Been using since June without issue but now the app is basically useless to me. I have to go get in my car to make sure it’s not charging during peak electricity cost times. At this point I will need to buy a separate wall unit to better manage this remotely. Need this fixed asap please.
As a suggestion, just let me put in the times I want to charge rather than setting a departure time. My only motivation is avoiding peak electric rates and I can manage the rest. At a minimum allow a depart mode and a exact hours (12am-6am) mode. Also would like to see the target charge not in full ten percent increments. Have been plenty of times where I would like to go 85% based on my needs for the next day.

Doesn’t work with my 2023 etron Sportback

I don’t think this ap has been adequately tested with the new 2023 etron sportback. Just picked it up today. (11-05) The dealer attempted to set it up and couldn’t. The error messages (11 of them) are all pertaining to completion of set up and authorizations. The error messages are both on the ap and and on the MMI screen of the vehicle.
We have done complete resets of the vehicle and removal of the app on my iPhone (12) several times. Nothing we have done has rectified the problems. When trying to contact the developer, it takes you to an Audi site that is written in German.

Confounded by Audi software

This app is so annoying . After constantly asking for new credentials or new terms or, as of this am having identical apps on my phone so having to start over and delete and reinstall. Or constantly adding my old audi back to the app even through I traded it in to the dealership 18 months ago to now just being unreliable connecting to our cars. Add that to the ridiculous software issues the 2020 and 2022 Etron and Q7s have with erasing personal settings (that is supposed to be solved by storing user data in the cloud and being connected to the app) that isn’t working either and has no fix until next year (for software?) I’m disillusioned by Audi. If you can’t do software and can only release beta quality app and automotive connective software, just don’t do software at all until you can. It’s 2022!

Limited features, crippled by design, buggy

This app doesn’t do much and what it does do, it does inconsistently. Every time the app gets an update I avoid downloading because it usually just breaks the app for me, which is what happened with this most recent update. Want to see your vehicle status? Internal server error, try again! Even before this update I’d have to request my vehicle status 2, 3, 5 or more times to actually retrieve that info. I would never depend on this app to actually unlock my vehicle, that would be a terrible idea. From a technology perspective, I imagine this app could show the real-time location of the car at all times but it only shows the location when the car is parked for some reason. Also, the developer notes are confusing, what features work with what models? For what it’s worth, all the core features work with my Q5 (or used to, sometimes).

Audi, you could do better

While the app my Audi does have some useful information it works only sporadically. I like getting location of my car, fuel that is left, whether all the doors and windows are locked and if anything is wrong. And while I like using the Audi interface for Maps to get real traffic information through Audi prime cost hundreds of dollars per year. You can get the same thing on Google, Apple, or waze and it’s free. And those map applications are far superior to Audi‘s. Hey Audi, you can do a lot better. Not everyone buying Audis anymore as wealthy, as you have made your cars accessible to more people. In my upper Manhattan neighborhood alone there must be five Audi Q5’s parking every day. So make the connect prime free and I’ll be happy to use the Audi interface.

Does not sync

UPDATE:
The issue seemed to be with the car’s telemetry system. My SOS emergency light was off, and when I reported this to the dealership service they replaced the module. After that, the app has started syncing again.
I am updating from 1 star to 5 stars. Although this app needs improvement, it has come a long way since I first installed it.

Initially everything was good and it worked as advertised. But since last few months this app is only good for sending navigation to car. Other than that, nothing syncs with the car. I have an electric vehicle so it is often important for me to know current range. Actually I went to the dealership and reported this issue. They kept my car for around a week after which I got tired and took it home. I was told that the dealership had filed an internal ticket with the Audi app team and they would get back to me once they heard back. I have not received a call from the dealership. Atleast a month has passed. I really love my car, but these sort of issues … :(

Updated: Getting registered

New: WORST experience ever. Audi decided to update the app a few Months ago. Since then I have been unable to login, unable cancel and reset, unable to link back with my car. I can been calling and talking with Audi help- to no avail. First 4 weeks of waiting- they said to cancel key user- nope. Another 4 weeks- delete app - nope. On week 12 and seriously rethinking my love.
This is the worst implementation of connected car experience ever. Poor app. Makes the etron kinda not special.
Old:By far the most frustrating aspect is the dealer verification. Super agitating. Super drawn out. You have my vin. You already know I bought the car. It should be plug and play. Worst app ever

Months and months trying to figure out how to pay my monthly payments on 3 different Audis all finances through Audi financial services. Used to be so easy using the old web platform. Then Audi INSISTS I have to use this insanely non functional app to pay, disabling a perfectly functional web platform. AND THERE’S NO CONNECTION AT ALL TO ANY OF MY Audi financial services accounts. Calls to customer service are painful and useless. How can a company that makes such wonderful cars make such a useless app? Might buy another Audi because I love their cars, but will never finance through them again.

One big disappointment

As a brand new member of Audi community (1 week since the purchase) I really see how great the cars are. However, the app is just one huge disappointment. From day one the app refuses to show any information about my car on the screen besides useless stock pictures of the model. Whenever I try to press lock/unlock button or see other information it says service is deactivated and/or unavailable. The dealer failed to find a source of the problem, everything is registered, so they created a ticket with support. Two days later I called support myself, took me 2 hours (!!!) on hold before I got connected with an agent who simply took my information and supposedly created another ticket. No ETA, no service, no feeling that Audi is any way a luxury brand. 2 out of 10 for customer service and for the app. Reading other reviews I expect that developer’s response will be useless “Sorry for your experience. Please contact us by phone and/or email”
Update: 1 month later the app started to work. But it’s still useless. It doesn’t do anything except showing you fuel level and locking/unlocking the car. Notification about open windows are not sent, I have to manually open the app and press refresh button to realize the a window is open. Retarded.
And there is no option to start the vehicle.

Audi Connect is Audis Shame

I bought a new Audi Q7 and at start, was impressed by the interior car details but as the user experience begins, one realizes that VW/Audi lacks quality control on its technology. The semi-driving automation is not reliable. The MMI system cumbersome and dangerous on the road with being difficult to use. Their non-functioning app is the straw in the camels back in the lack of trust in this German engineering. The lack of attention to customer feedback and sloppy work truly shows. Ironically, my sisters new Pallisade is more impressive with much less money. Her app works brilliantly to remotely start the car, change ventilation controls, track the location of the car, use it as a key to start the car, etc. I spent countless hours just trying to get the Audi app to connect to my car as a user and even requires some type of dealer authorization. The entire experience has been terrible. VW should learn from the Koreans in being able to integrate greatly impressive technology in their cars that actually works.

Functionality Issues

This app is intrusive. It auto loads when you start the car and interrupts whatever other app you’re using (audio apps or Google maps when you’re trying to look up directions). I never fully shut down the app, so I don’t understand why it can’t do whatever it’s doing in the background without forcing itself to the foreground and taking preference over my active app.
I also don’t understand when this app is supposed to work. Lately it can never retrieve data from my car when the car isn’t on, and the climate control and other features haven’t been working. The app is useless to me when I’m actually in the car, but that’s the only time it seems to work.

*Updating again a year later. Still requires manual entry of the VIN to read the online manual or look up recalls, despite being able to see (but not copy to clipboard) the VIN on the Home Screen. The app for my wife’s Chevy Bolt is more useful than this.
*updated 3/21* Again; after the latest update, the VIN STILL has to be manually entered to access the owners manual or to view recall information, even though the app shows the VIN on the Home Screen. This is just ridiculous.
Has some decent features. The most inexplicable feature is that, although my vehicle and it’s VIN are shown on the home screen, if I click through to view the online owner’s manual I have to manually input the VIN EACH FREAKING TIME. Needs More

I had been using this app and it was ok, pretty much just the basics - ability to locate the vehicle, unlock it, look up service locations, etc. After using their competitors app, the one from Affalterbach, I REALLY want remote start, even if the car shuts down when unlocked. Why VW/Audi can’t add basics like remote start, 360 auto-recording dash cams, and other such things for the premium that they charge on their vehicles and subscriptions; I don’t know?? One more thing that’s really annoying me - I ordered a new Audi from a local dealership, and I can’t even track status on the My Audi app. What’s up with that?? …tracking a car in manufacturing isn’t that challenging in today’s age of the modern factory and all I really want to know are the basics - is it being manufactured, is it delayed because of the chip shortage, is it being prepped for delivery to the dock, is it on a boat, did it arrive to the US, etc. I’m not asking to track every part of the manufacturing process. Anyways, hoping Audi realizes that it’s 2022, hires some real developers that can work close with the automotive engineers, and starts improving this app to impress people vs just have one for the sake of making their marketing team happy.

Wish I could get rid of my e-Tron

Stay away from any connected Audi. It’s pathetic than an incredible car is completely crippled by non functioning online services. Every single time I get in my e-Tron I am prompted to login on my phone, then told their is a failure to authenticate, and I can’t use any of the features I am paying for on the vehicle. The MyAudi app prompts me to verify key user, but then I click that I get a failure message “unable to verify” when it does work it tells me I need to login to MyAudi on the car, but there is absolutely no way to do that. Customer service? 2 hours on hold then the automated system disconnected me. Help from the dealer? Yeah right. I was told by Steve White Audi in SC that it’s not their problem because it isn’t a mechanical malfunction. I’ve reset key user, factory reset the car itself..no luck. And everything PERFECTLY before some stupid update the dealer did two months ago! None of the services I am paying for work. It’s like I’m in a dealer loaner car!

Poor functionality; consistent vehicle connection issues

While I enjoy my etron, the myaudi app brings no joy. And I’m not certain it has any true utility. More often than ever should be the case in this day and age - and especially for an electric vehicle - the app will not connect with the car, sending various error messages when attempts are made to use the app to access functions in the vehicle. Unlike the Tesla app (I previously owned a model s) the myaudi app is not intuitive, offers few remote functions and glitches at a rate that should embarrass Audi/VW. Audi should think more of its customers and either make a serious effort to improve this app or simply stop offering this inferior product. Audi owners expect more/better than what this poorly designed and executed app offers.

Terrible functionality

The entire audi connect platform has been a miserable experience from the moment I bought my first audi. Each time I get a new car I find out how much worse the system has gotten. Just trying to purchase a subscription for junk that should always work on a car has been terrible. The app redirects to a page which fails multiple times. Once it lands on the correct page is requests updated profile information. After crashing a few times I was finally able to update my info but apparently the information in the linked pop up page did not pass through to the app so I had to update on another page within the app. Once it finally processed the “high speed” internet was only running at download speeds of .2 mbps with full signal. This entire process is broken to the point where I will demand the dealer handle setup and cover costs for stupid features that should be included or I will move to another brand just to keep from punching the dash out while hearing rattles in my six month old car.

Not user friendly

I went to the dealer to have someone set up this app and connect me. No problems until the guy logged me out and when I logged back in later, none of the info on my car loaded and I keep getting error messages. I don’t know what he did to get app to work. I presumed once you logged in you were good to go. It shouldn’t be this difficult and I’m so frustrated that I’m about to delete the app and move on.
Update: I contacted AudiUSA on Facebook and was told I would be hearing from someone in 2 days. I’m still haven’t heard back and I’m done waiting. Deleted the app and moving on. My time is valuable and disappointed that customer service isn’t there for this brand. This is my first Audi and not pleased. The guy at dealership treated me as though I knew nothing which was intimidating to say the least.

Unacceptable for a Luxury Brand and Sales Lies

This app experience is unacceptable for a luxury brand in every single way. Very few controls and no climate or remote start, huge delay on lock/unlock (e.g. the only real controllable thing), car tracking is pointless and bad at tracking anyways, and whomever designed trips must be from another universe if they think it’s usable by anyone on earth.
More importantly though, I haven’t been able to log into my MMI as long as I’ve owned the car (~3mo). I asked the salesperson because this issue came up when I was purchasing the car and they straight up lied to me and told me the login issues would be fixed in a week and not to worry. Zero communication from Audi, zero updates, zero fixes. For a $78k car.
Audi is nuts if they think I’m ever purchasing anything from them or their parent company / subsidiaries again. Absolutely unacceptable experience. Currently contacting lawyers to investigate if lemon law can be applied because Audi is still straight up lying to customers.

Really spotty in terms of function

Latest app update (July 2021) now has effectively killed the app for me. I can’t update anything and I continually get a server error of no reply from host. I’ve updated the app, updated iOS two days ago because of recent security updates/issues and restarted my iPhone, all to no avail.
Even before this, there were multiple issues that others mentioned in other reviews. Scheduled charging didn’t work. I set it for 9p at night to get lower electricity rates but the car still would start charging earlier if I had the charger hooked up. When i did try to schedule the charge, instead of the battery the app would say I did a climate schedule, which I was scared would then start the AC in the middle of the night, so I switched it off entirely.

Do Not Buy An Audi Only If….

This is my first review on an app in 10 years use of smart phone!. But this company just made me furious!!!! Whoever find this comment, you’re extreme LUCKY! Because I. as an example, am disappointed with Truth In Engineering!!! DO NOT BUY an Audi PERIOD!!! This is the third week since I got my 2021 A4, Audi server has been down on day 1, the sales rep couldn’t help me setup, not even able to demonstrate any feature associated with this app or Audi Connect. Dreaded myAudi—6 weeks and counting!

This app is necessary to access several electronic features for 2021 vehicles. The second part of the process requires you to revisit the dealership for verification. Corporate Audi knows that it contains many bugs, including an inability to log on. The response has been: “just wait, we’re working on it”. Six weeks since the A5 purchase and counting. The google map feature has never functioned.
The problem is that this is hidden information seemingly even from their dealers. Both of us have spent hours on hold, on line, and for me, in great frustration. All they need do is tell the truth—there are bugs and the app will not function until they get around to fixing it. Not the “Audi Experience” that I have paid so dearly for. Hold time again is 1.5 hours as I write this.
I suggest that, should you still desire to purchase an Audi, that you have the dealership set up this app before you leave. Caveat Emptor.

Decent app but a little difficult to use

For the most part I like the features of the app but I often find myself confused and/or frustrated. For instance, not being able to copy the VIN number! If you want to check for recalls or look through your owners manual you will need your VIN. The app displays the VIN but doesn’t allow it to be copied the pasted. Nobody is going to type in their entire VIN number.

Like other reviewers, my disappointment is growing with Audi’s app integration. Still no easy way to get to the owners manual, no way to see your Audi Financial Services account (not even an external link to website), and features are lackluster in comparison to other brands/class models.

An embarrassment of an app

Within the past few months, my wife and I both got new cars. I got an Audi, and she got a Volvo. While we both love the cars, the apps are wildly different from each other. While the Audi app is pretty much useless, the Volvo app is amazing, giving her all sorts of useful information and even being able to start the car. But that’s a whole other complaint, that Audi does not offer a remote car starter and nothing to do with the app.
The Audi app barely connects to my car and when it does, it’s very much a barebones app. For example, it’s currently 7:54am and I can’t get the app to connect to my car at all. The last time it connected was yesterday at 5:56pm. As I said, useless. While the app is not a dealbreaker for me, it may be with my next car. Every other car company is well on their way to excellent in car connectivity. And then there is Audi. I would expect much more from a company like this in 2020.
In response to the developers response. My issue isn’t so much with the lack of remote car starter as it is with the app just not connecting to the car on a consistent basis.

No functionality and poor connections

My wife bought a Volvo past year and the Volvo app is amazing. No connection issues, great push notifications, remote start, sync to calendar for driving directions pushed to the car. Love it.
I bought a 2020 A5, and the myAudi app is a colossal disappointment. Even after the 2 weeks that my car was back at the shop getting the “module” connected to Verizon’s cellular service, I was promised the app was working fine. Now, it always shows that I still have yet to link my MMI to the app, but will occasionally show me my vehicle stats. Even then, it’s a coin toss as to whether it’ll connect. It’s so unreliable it’s practically useless. Even if it worked, it’s lack of useful functions and clunkiness still put it miles behind Volvo.
I’m shocked that Audi has allowed this app to make it to market. I love my car, but the app is possibly the worst app on my phone.

Audi App fails if not IOS 13 - Developer Response Requested

I am looking for the developer to respond- honestly now, is there any intention to correct the MyAudi app to support both IOS 12 that is continues to be supported by Apple as well as IOS 13?
Technology is not just forward compatible but backwards compatible also. Any technology company as well as Audi’s competitors understand this so why not Audi? Customers should not be forced to upgrade their iPhone to continue using the MyAudi app. IOS12 customers have lost functionality and security features for no reason other than poor design. What is just as frustrating is the app recognizes an iPhone is IOS 12 and downloads the IOS12 version but then demands the customer upgrade the app to the newest version.
Please respond or better yet, fix the MyAudi app. This does not look good for Audi.

Useless app that lets you stranded in your EV

It’s very apparent that this app is a „gazillion“ miles away from the experience that true EV apps bring to customers. Compare Tesla. Even compare BMW. Both are much, much, much better in terms of design, usability, customer centricity ... you name it. This app just looks like somebody threw random functionality somewhere onto the screen without any reason. It’s bad.
What’s worse: I depended on this app to recharge my electric vehicle, the eTron. So here I am, almost out of charge, trying to initiate a charge at an Electrify America station. You press the button ... and a blank screen opens. Nothing. I close the app. I open it again. Same screen. Nothing. So here I am, in the middle of nowhere with an empty battery and an Audi App that does not allow me initiate a charge.
I could possibly tolerate an ugly app with random design and useless functions, but what I can’t tolerate is an app where the basic functions for EV drivers are failing when you need them. Shame on you Audi! That’s my first and last 90K USD EV that I’ll be buying from you. I highly recommend anybody considering using this with their EV to go and buy a Tesla or another serious EV vehicle, not one where you’re a beta tester of a terrible, terrible app. Shame on Audi!

Warning about My Audi Connect

DO NOT PRE PAY for these features! If you want to try beyond the trial period only choose monthly plans. Contrary to what it says in the literature the services are not refundable or transferable. And they are terrible as you can see in other reviews.
You can’t choose Apple car play and use WiFi. The news and weather are just so bad it’s silly. While the maps in the car is beautiful I wouldn’t pay for it when it free so on your mobile device. Most importantly there are no useful features in the myAudi app. I recently parked at the airport for a week long trip. I checked in on my etron and it said that my window was down. I worried about my car for the whole trip. When I got back the window was up. Contrary to literature there is no trip planning that guides you through charge points. You have to use the electrify America app to get the charger address and then set that in the navigation. I feel the materials presented on the Audi website don’t accurately explain all of this information. There is also no customer solution when the services fail as they are now

I did call the 800 number and was told to download some other (nonAudi) navigation app. The most recent update does not work and while the telephone app map now allows you to include a charging stop in your plans it does not work when you send the trip plan to the car.

Seriously, can it get any worse?

There is no way this app can be anything above a 1 star, and If you look closely the majority of recent reviews support this. Instead of improving the app, it seems to get worse with each update instead of better. Now after the latest app, it seems to become “disconnected” from my 2019 Q8... seriously, this is like the 5th time, and each time I have to go in and delete myself from my car, use the lovely little plastic ID tag to add myself back.
And now, in my car goes while using the google maps display with Audi connect, my car just randomly goes “offline” and can’t get real time traffic updates, etc. After calling tech support, waiting a week for the “first” response, which was basically email us more pictures of the issue, and now basically dead silence.... except for a survey asking me how I felt about my recent service request.
I expect more from Audi, the cars are engineering marvels, but it is beyond obvious that you DO NOT have the same skills in app development, and I am starting to wonder the same thing about your “technical support”, which is sad given the cost of your automobiles. Step up, own your failures, admit this app is crap and hire someone who knows how to develop an app and get something deployed that works please.

Just like my 2018 Q5, don’t believe the hype...

I have nothing but annoyance and disappointment with my Audi and this pretty much useless app. The one thing that might be useful is the ability to lock/unlock the doors with an Apple Watch but alas it rarely works and when it does, it’s painfully slow. It seems that Audi will increase performance as long as the user allows location to be turned on by the user. No thanks but nice try Audi. I’ll keep some privacy thank you very much. And no, you cannot have access to my contacts or calendar either. Again, nice try.
As for the Q5, it’s loud, invasive, and shuts down even with the auto engine off is turned off. I’ve never been so disappointed or disliked abt vehicle I’ve ever owned going back +30 years ago to high school. I’ve had Hyundai, Mazda, Infiniti’, BMW, VW, Ford, Toyota, Lincoln, Mercedes, and enjoyed all of them at the time. But the Audi is awful.

Disappointing

I don’t typically write reviews on apps, but we are really disappointed by the limited functionality of this app. Compared to the Volvo app and some others we’ve looked at, we feel like this app is really not up to par. For example, it would be helpful to get a push notification if we leave our door unlocked. It would also be helpful to have this merged with AudiFS. Mostly though we were really stunned this past week when our car was burglarized (window smashed in) and the alarm went off in the middle of the night but there was no indication of this from the app, which said everything was fine. I would expect that the app would alert you if your alarm goes off. I didn’t even think to explore the functionality of the app when we purchased our Audi, but now I will consider this when we’re searching for our next car — the app has the potential to be a huge asset but unfortunately Audi’s app is far from that.

I’m not seeing the value

Really the only thing I can do is lock the car from a distance (not sure why I’d want to unlock if I’m not there) and that seems to only work part of the time. I just tried it now and it failed several times saying it could not connect with the car. In the lock/unlock log it says that it was a technical error.
Not sure why anyone would pay for this service..
Why is there no remote start? Mercedes has it through their App. The claim by the Audi dealer was that Audi is beholden to German manufacturing regulations which prevent the car from idling without someone present in the vehicle. Ok, but why doesn’t Mercedes have that same restriction?
Anyways, I absolutely love the car without this service. But, if Audi wants to sell this as a value add and not just include it, it needs to provide significant value. Not just gimmicks.
Knowing how much gas I have left is cool, but not sure why I’d pay several hundred a year for it. And traffic on maps is cool, but it’s not as accurate as Google or Apple Maps directly though CarPlay. It didn’t detect roads that were closed for construction for some reason.
If remote start, more accurate traffic guidance and more consistent performance come along, I may reconsider letting it lapse at the end of the trial.

Atrocious

The old one wasn’t great, but this one is a tremendous step down. The one function I really enjoyed about the old one was the ability to stream stored music from my phone through my A4’s wifi. That function is now gone. So that means getting music from the phone to the car either doesn’t happen at all, or it occurs over Bluetooth with noticeably worse sound quality and no ability to navigate/select files/tracks using the MMI screen and controls. I simply can’t imagine why Audi would knowingly strip such functionality from its app. Did they think owners wouldn’t notice or care? I did and do. Very much. Next month will mark ten consecutive years of owning Audis for me. As it happens, I’ve also been feeling the itch for a new car lately. Unless it’s fixed pronto, this functionality gut punch from Audi will, for certain, make me a former Audi owner.
Update: Audi’s failure to fix the known, ongoing problems with its awful app was enough for me. After ten years and two Audis, I’m now a BMW owner.

Disappointed and annoyed

I went to use the MMI Connect app a couple days ago. When I opened it, it said no longer supported and download myAudi. I was excited because the MMI app was clunky and lacked features. After installing the myAudi app, it lacks the features and supports less than the MMI app! It took me two days to register on the new app, it’d just sit and spin when I’d try to verify my account. After I finally got that to work, it tells me they need identity verification and I have to take a contract and ID to an Audi dealer to see information about my own car!! This I understand IF I just purchased my Audi. I’ve had it for 2 years and already have a verified account. It’s 2018, there are plenty of secure ways for me to perform identity verification without going back to a dealer! Absolutely ridiculous! The value of this app makes me consider rethinking my next car purchase. I spent 6 figures on a car and Audi can’t develop a quality technology interface.

Bring back the MMI Connect app

The new Audi app is a big disappointment. With MMI Connect app, I could listen to music over WIFI with substantially better sound quality than Bluetooth. The new Audi app takes away that functionality and this degrades my experience in the car. It seems ridiculous that the car has this capacity but Audi has taken away the MMI Connect app that allowed customers to enjoy it. Please fix the major setback. Or give us the MMI Connect app back!
The developer has suggested that we download a UPNP server but I have tried four different ones and none lets me play music from my phone through my Audi stereo. If I choose WiFi media player through the car’s MMI, it says please start MMI Connect or other UPNP app but it doesn’t recognize any other app and Audi has deactivated the one app it did recognize, their own MMI Connect app. PLEASE FIX THIS!!! I thought you guys were good at technology!!

Makes decision not to renew audiconnect easy

Please bring back the old app, at least until this one is fixed. I can’t log on. I’m glad I’m on my free audiconnect trial, because I would be very upset if I were paying for this experience.
Between this and the announcement that Google Earth will soon not be supported on my brand new, few-months-old car, this makes the decision not to renew audiconnect absolutely easy. A rolling $500 charge sounded expensive but viable even back when It meant I could wow everyone who got into the car with a flashy google earth map behind the steering wheel, and when it meant a working iPhone app that had a lot of useful functionality.
Now, we’re talking about ~$200/yr for essentially an in-car weather update, a really subpar news feed (these features have been boiler plate for my iPhone for a decade), and traffic updates (that can be supplied by sirius for $40/yr after a obdII port adjustment anyway). Non-functional google earth, non-functional app... I should thank Audi for saving me hundreds of dollars in subscription fees per year, with absolutely no regrets.

Not so much Truth in Engineering.

I have used the old MMI connect app for my Q7 and it worked great. Enter the new myAudi app with at least a hundred steps back. Audi is supposed to be cutting edge, ahead of the curve, Vorsprung Durch Technik even. But instead we get a sub-par app that barely works and is useless.
I tried to upload a destination from the app to my navigation like I used to do and even though it shows up, it doesn’t have the address!! It only has the phone number to the destination. I used to be able to mark my parking location and check the traffic, can’t do that anymore with the new app. Why not keep the old one and use the new one for newer models. Whoa, that would make too much sense. Why when you buy a great car that might be a few years old (mine is a 2014) you have to sacrifice technology and give up what made it relevant when it was new? Fix this and stop making horrendous apps and step up your game Audi, this is embarrassing.
