Giving up.....
Unfortunately I am deleting this app. I Used it quite frequently but have become increasingly frustrated over the last few months with the performance and now, you have to pay $20?! Sorry it would have to be a much more well designed and higher functioning app to be worth paying 1/10 of that.

Charging viewers to read content will not only push readers away, but customers who advertise on your site. Providing school delays should be a public service, but your choice to charge for this has pushed us away from your site!

Get real!
When I open the syracuse.com app, I imagine myself walking out my door, along the driveway to the mailbox to get the newspaper and back, because that’s how long it takes to load the day’s stories. When you have Netflix offering hours and hours of original entertainment every day with no ads for $10 a month, it’s hard to make the case for paying $20 a month for the few local stories you might read on this app with ads popping up all over the place. I can understand the need to support the local paper, and maybe something like $5.99 a month would be reasonable. They need to get real about pricing.

Not Worth the Price!
The content produced by Syracuse.com is not worth the $20/month subscription. It is often poorly written, not timely or relevant, and filled with grammatical and spelling errors. The app is already overrun with ads, that are often deceptively designed to look like legitimate articles. I will never pay such a high price for a substandard product. I’ve tolerated these deficiencies for years while it was a free service, but not anymore. App deleted!

No chance I am going to pay that for local news that isn’t even that good. You already have ads all over the app why do you have to charge the readers? The content isn’t updated enough and there are constantly factual and grammatical errors. Not to mention the bias crappy journalism that is present. it was convenient to read up on my home town when it was free. No way I will continue to do it for $20 a month. Deleting the app.

Is SMG that hard up for money that you have included the app under your website paywall? This is on top of using the app notifications for additional ads, illegal sales calls, hate speech masquerading as article comments, etc.

TRASH! 20 Dollars a month for news I can get for free all over the web. Tell you what, print me a worthwhile newspaper every day, (not just Thursday and Sunday), and I’ll buy it. Best laugh I’ve had all week!!!
$20/mo for 3rd grade journalism rife with spelling and grammatical errors. Not to mention your deceitful click bait headlines. If you have a good product and reasonable pricing, people will gladly pay. I have already started using much better local news apps that have accurate and consistent reporting. And MUCH more accurate weather. So Quality/Content goes down, price goes up from free to $20. This is laughable. Who thought this would be a good idea to go from free to almost $250/yr, because I have a bridge I’d like to sell you.

Poor choices with new decisions
Wish you could choose 0 stars. With free news out there around everywhere- I can’t see paying $20/month for their lackluster coverage. And they advertise all over their sight as it is. You can subscribe to the print issue for less than that each month- but it’s print media. But now they want to have their cake and eat it too. I’ll find my news elsewhere.

I had this app for YEARS! Within the last week in order to read a story, it’s telling you that you have to subscribe $19.99 just to READ!! Why are you charging people $19.99 to read something?! Very unhappy
The newest update changed everything about your app. This app was nice I was able to see school updates and local news with some adds. Now I can’t even look at school closings without paying $20 a month. Why am I being forced to pay for poorly written, uninformed news and articles that are too short, and the same news as I get for free elsewhere.

Completely out of touch
Your recent update notes an ability to support quality local journalism? That means I must pay $20/month to read stories about the awards you’ve won or to create content for you with the ever-present “best of” series where you look for reader contributions. I can deal with ads but no way am I paying that much for such “quality” journalism as what channel an SU game is on or the two newsworthy stories per week.

The only local news, & such poor writing. So little content & way too many advertisements. I still find myself looking, only because no other options. I finally deleted this crap. Now, when I’m trying to read a story, a video ad pops up & keeps popping up, so you can’t read a lousy story. Fold!! Go bankrupt! DO NOT, I repeat, DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME!!!

Needs work
I do like the app, but there really needs to be some kind of filter for what topics you would/wouldn’t like notifications for. I like getting notifications for most things, but the fact that I’m forced to receive like 20 notifications about a sports game every time there’s one almost makes me want to just delete the app completely.

This app is unusable unless you’re on wi-fi. Very slow. Its also not really a news site, they simply copy and paste liberal articles from other outlets. And don't try to add an opinion thats not in line with the liberal agenda or they shadowban you.

Needs filter
Please consider adding a filter that will allow us to bypass all the redundant sports stories that clog up the feed. Many times, sports will comprise 15 or more stories out of a 20 story string. There’s more to life than SU hoops and high school lacrosse.

Relentless Notifications
If you are an apple watch owner, you're going to hate this app. You get a notification every time the Mayor or Police Chief pour a bowl of cereal. It's 7:59 am and I have already received three push notifications since 7:00. Completely obnoxious.
