This game is really cool and artsy.

But it only has about 11 short lived levels.

I would spend maybe $.99 on this, but I decided to spend $3 on it. Not worth the price, but it is what the description says.

Yes, the game is fairly short, but it is so interactive and there are so many little hidden details that you'll find yourself playing it through several times. It's also absolutely GORGEOUS and it's obvious that the author put a ton of effort in to it, right down to the tiniest little detail. I just wish there were more levels (fingers crossed)!

This game is fun, and creative, but trippy as f**k

I got this for my wife but found myself getting into this unassuming puzzler as much as she did. Gorgeous visuals, atmospheric audio and effects, pulls you in and happily keeps you solving the dreaminess of each new vignette. No it isn’t hardcore but, at times it can make you work for the payoff…you’ll be glad you do. Highly recommended and I look forward to another installment.

This game is as of yet an undiscovered classic but just because it's not well known give it a try short but well worth the price.

Happy was the day that a friend of a friend told me about this app... While many apps have been added and since removed from my iPad Windosill stays on... It seems new whenever I play with it... And it is absolutely addictive to watch others figure it out in new ways. Thanks for the fun !

Absolutely amazing app. Mind-blowing. Played it with my 4-year old son who loves it. Very different. No loud fake screaming BS for kids--they must use their minds to figure things out. Unparalleled app.

For those of you saying that there's only one level, that's not true. In the bottom shelf of the first stage, there should be a car, like the one in the app icon. There should also be a cube. Pick up the cube, put it through the hole in the wall of the shelf, open the door, and be on your way. The rest of the levels involve finding the cube that opens the door so that the car may proceed. It's a very fun, strange puzzle game if you can actually figure out the first level. Which, no offense, isn't that hard to do. My only complaint is that some of the later levels are too hard, and you just click a bunch of stuff hoping it'll work. However, it's over all a very good game!

The way the elements move and sound really pull you in, and everything is very well done. It challenges you, but never makes you frustrated. This has been a favorite of mine to show people.

Beautiful soulful graphics, no distracting ads, and genuine visual puzzles. Children like it too, though feed the head is a bit simpler.

My son is 4 and it took us a few minutes to figure out the goal of the game but after that it was ON. The app is very enjoyable, engaging and really made my boy think. We love it!

This is a very good game. I disagree with some other reviews in that I don't think the graphics are that incredible, good but not incredible. I very much like the way the game is a bit of a challenge but at only one point does it become so difficult that is just plain dumb luck if you get through the scene. I would give this game five stars but it is a very very short game.

This is a beautiful game that is able to be both difficult and fun. It’s a magical experience.

I'm struck by how creative and satisfying the interactions are. This app is great for children and adults alike.

The "game" experience is short however it's fun to go back and play around in your favorite sill. It is less a game and more a playground where cool things happen.

Very beautiful artwork and definitely entertaining, but solves it very quickly (less than an hour), so I'm not sure it was worth the price. I've paid less for other games that entertain me for weeks. I would only recommend if you have money to spend and you're more interested in the art rather than the game.

The game/piece-of-art is quite visually wonderful as others said, however it didn’t wind up lasting very long for me (nor my 5 year old). It is not that challenging from a puzzler standpoint. Once you’re done, it’s over; and besides my wonder at the art of it, I also had a vague feeling that was barely worth the cost.

I would liken the experience with that of playing with a piece of interactive art.

You play through several levels or windows where you experiment with the objects and backgrounds in each one to solve a sort of mystery puzzle, the end result is you get a little block key to unlock the door to the next window.

But the most fun is in interacting and figuring out what everything does and how it all works together.

Great APP...need to make some more!

This is so cool! I love the art style and the creativity, this app opens up an amazing world and it's just AWESOME!!! I want to play more levels though, it's just so amazing and I want to see even more!

This is one of my favorite point and click games. Despite its short gameplay, I'd go as far to say that I'd pay a full dollar per level if I had to. I have replayed this game several times since I first played this as a flash game.

Would be a great game but it was way too short. Easily done in well under an hour and for $3 that isn't worth it. Beautiful, but needs a lot more levels for the value.

None of the pictures with the description are actually of things in the game. There is only one environment. I've tapped, dragged, double-tapped, touched every single thing in that environment and absolutely NOTHING opens up to allow more exploration. The game is over in about a minute. Not anywhere NEAR worth the money. BOOO!

I almost never take the time to write reviews but this one warrants the time. It is truly an amazing work of art that pushes standard concepts of what a game is and should do. It's so engaging and different that it really stands out in the ever growing sea of games out there. I only wish it kept going. I look forward to more games or levels added to this one in the future.

I know better now. It is simply beautiful. I haven't yet finished it, so can't comment on its length. I know now, though, that is unique, polished, creative, and clever. I also know I already want a sequel. Well done!

A deeply visceral experience, Windosill could easily qualify as a piece of interactive art, but an incredible amount of work has gone into making every interaction natural and FUN! whether you love it or leave disappointed depends entirely on how much you enjoy tinkering with a surreal world, because it's largely the tinkering, not the actual problem solving, that is the whole point. Everything is so responsive in such a natural way.

While the game is certainly a bit short, I found it somewhat challenging and full of crazy awesome experiences. Would love to buy a sequel.

This feels like the sort of game Nintendo would make for the iPad.

There's a slight nod to wario ware but only in passing.

It's fun, smart and beautiful.

The art work perfectly matches the playful nature of the puzzles and coupled with pleasing tough controls it's a joy to play

The game is short in fundamental terms but it feels satisfying as there are no boring moments.

I played it twice back to back and can see self fiddling with it in the future. It's toy-like nature may provide replay value particularly for younger ones.

As an adult, I'd play it non stop if they release some more.

I have played dozens of games; a few (very few) of them were outstanding; but this one is as perfect as it gets. It's clever, original, creative, artistically brilliant, and fun. Although many games claim to be addictive, this one truly is; I couldn't stop playing. My only disappointment was that it was over too quickly and I want more, more, more.

I bought this on a recommendation and I am having a ball with it. Single sitting? I'm stuck on the 6th one. I need a kindergartner to help me through this. Vector art? There must be a clue there.

4-1/2 stars - beautiful and immersive, but kind of short (took me an hour to play through)

The best part of this game is not the puzzles - they are not, in and of themselves, terribly difficult, if you are willing to be persistent - but the interactivity. There are characters on every screen - sweet, quirky, clever, and never threatening - that give the game an atmosphere of quiet playfulness. Exploring each scene is as much fun as solving the puzzle itself. I can see why this would give it great appeal to children - but I found it really lovely as an adult as well. I've spent far more on apps that have given me far less pleasure. Even short, this is well worth the money.

Don't be fooled by its kid-like characteristics; this is a game to be enjoyed by all ages. The attention to detail; well-thought design and characteristics of puzzle; sounds and creativity are what make this great.

My only complaint, as someone else already said, it ends! I hope that there will be updates, even if they're in-app purchases.

I've been a huge fan of Windosill ever since I played in on PC. It's an amazing work of art that gives me chills every time I play it, not to mention an impressive technical feat. Everyone should play this game - men, women, children, gamers, nongamers, it doesn't matter.

When i saw that i could get it on my new ipad 3, I was ecstatic. I certainly wasn't disappointed, in fact, I would say ipad 3 is the definitive platform to play Windosill on.

If you have an ipad, especially an ipad 3, you really ought to own this game. The silky smooth, ultra crisp visuals really validated my ipad 3 purchase.

This experience (it's more than "just a game" or "just a puzzle") is fun, whimsical, magical. Each of the rooms you enter needs to be explored and solved. The solution finds or frees the square that serves a the key to the next room. But, oh, that solving process... It involves playing and becoming a child again! Never has a puzzle been so charming. If you get stuck, you can google for walkthroughs... But, please, try not to....you'll deprive yourself of some great fun! Children enjoy just playing with the objects in the room ... So did I!

Some of the later rooms do require a bit of a chain of actions to solve, but once you see what various objects do, you'll get ideas.

The final "room", has a number of fun actions...my favorite is the peacock.

Very highly recommended!

This is truly an artistic and out of the box game. My seven year old daughter and I enjoyed it very much. I wish that it were a bit longer though, as we completed it in under 30 min. I would love to see more games like this. Perhaps they will come out with an expanded edition.

I had the expectation that this would be a game for kids when I downloaded it, but it turned into one of my favorite apps of all time! There are no instructions, no badges or awards or points, just free play + discovery. You explore your way intuitively through 11 "environments" in a completely immersive way. Curiosity is thoroughly rewarded by characters/objects and their interaction with the player and each other. I can't wait until there's another version!!

This is an experience you can NOT let slip through your fingers. Innovation and polish are the ingredients, a permanent almost childish and over the top ear to ear grin is the end result. Fun fun and fun are the 3 words I use to describe what it is to play this...app/game/experience.

Don't forget about the other apps from this developer! They are all worth the purchase!

At first I didn't know what to expect and was skeptical about the game and it turned out to be one of the best games on my iPad. When I first tried it I found it amusing but I didn't quite get it at first and the puzzles were to short in the beginning but the puzzles got more elaborate as I kept playing and turned out to be very clever and fun. Then towards the end of the game it clicked what it was supposed to be and represent (when we were kids and put our cars on the windowsill with our toys in the background) and that completely got me psyched and suddenly I was thrown back to childhood and it got even more enjoyable. The ending would be one that would naturally disappoint me, but the experience was so enjoyable that it was almost heart warming. For the full nostalgia effect try listening to "let me take you there" by the plain white t's it completes the experience in my opinion. The game was really great and I actually just finished the game about 8 minutes ago I had already spent five minutes raving to my friends about the game and the rest writing this review. All in all a really well made experience that throws you back if you had that kind of childhood or a really enjoyable experience for children, the graphics are like a child's book and the puzzles are very clever. It is something everyone should get. And I want to get replaying the game as soon as I submit this review. Five out of five stars great job to the dev's.

It is a fun and interesting game that both I and my daughter have played alone or together. It really goes beyond "puzzle" in that it makes you think creatively, try things without instruction or strict rules, and have fun!

Windosill is the only game I will ever need for my iPad. The levels never get old, no matter how many times I play through the game. It would be good to have some new levels, but I doubt it will happen. Windowill is the best game I have ever played on an iPad, iPhone, or computer.

This is a very fun game. It's simple but puzzling. I love all of the interaction and physics. Everything was beautifully done. My only negative mark is that the game is a little too short. It still deserves 5 stars for brilliant design and flow. If it were several levels or worlds larger it would perfect. You don't die in this game but it can take a little time to figure out the puzzle which is fun. Please add levels!!!! It's really way too short...although awesome. Oh and some light music would be nice too, something like Contre Jour (quiet and light)? Felt like a ride in an amusement park, ..worth the $3 but over too soon. ;)

Great game....actually I think my fav app of all time. The worst thing of all is that I beat it in less than 20 minutes. This was a huge let down. Please please please!!!! Make more levels. I had no idea what this app was all about, and couldn't advance at all for over a week. Then, my three year-old daughter started playing and she solved the first level in 10 minutes! I'm an engineer by profession, no dummy, but I sure felt dumb then. However, now that I had a basis for deduction, my daughter and I solved the rest of the game that same day. She took over whenever I was thinking too hard about a particular aspect of the game. Although I admit some parts require much more effort, just don't think too hard; let your intuition take over, and you'll be pleasantly surprised.

A work of art that is fun and fascinating to play. I've had so many friends (ages 6-54) become enraptured by this game.

Great puzzles, but even better sense of mood and motion. I feel like games like this are the very best of human creativity that the app store can bring to the world.

I was quite entertained by this work of art. It was like rolling through a dream. I did think it went to fast, and wanted to see more. The second time around went much faster. It did make you think logically to get through the various puzzles. I really enjoyed playing this.

This is an incredible app. I've replayed it many times and every time I do I find little surprises. I love the detail including the sounds, an essential aspect to a good game and is often overlooked, but not here. The entire thing is tight and well designed. Its natural and fluid and gorgeous. I highly recommend you acquire this app as soon as humanely possible. You certainly will not regret it. I only hope the developer might make another volume or add more levels, but based on the thought and imagination and effort put into each windowsill, I'm sure it must take an extensive amount of manpower and time.

A fantastic and beautiful app that is fun for the 40 yr. old or the 4yr. Old. Artistic screens and a lack of any instructions prompt the user to just start exploring, I was hooked after about 5 minutes of play. I can say the same for my 4yr. Old.

My only complaint was at the end of the game, the realization that I wouldn't get any more screens to figure out and enjoy. Hoping that future updates may extend this game but if not, it's still one of the best games I've found. I don't give 5 star ratings easily.

AMAZING game - one of the most intriguing, absorbing titles I've ever played. I was totally captivated by the concept, the artwork, and the fascinating puzzles. I wish it had gone on far longer than it did, but I'm now a HUGE fan of this company and will keep an eye out for everything they produce!

If there were WAY more levels, this would be the most addicting game in the world. It just kept me engaged. I beat the entire thing 2 times in about 45 minutes. I really hope there will be more level packs to add in the future.

Absolutely stunning and is a perfect example of what an ipad can do. I would pay much more than 99 cents for apps like this. And yes, once you've figured it out, it's kind of done but that doesn't bother me. I smiled from beginning to end (except for when I was stuck) and am looking forward to watching others experience it as well.

This is not even a game, I think it being classified as such is misleading. I "beat" it in about 15min and never understood the point. I thought i would be solving puzzles, but it was more like trying to click on everything on the screen until a little

cube pops out, not very brain-twisting. I would say i actually feel more stupid after "playing" this. It does have a neat visual style to it, but that's about the only positive I would give it. Maybe if this was a tutorial to a real puzzle game it would be ok.

Such a cleverly conceived puzzle game. Atmosphere, personality and charm combine to make a very stylish and thought provoking series of challenges. The goal is to make each 'screen' or 'windowsill' scene cough up a small cube that you use as a key to enter the next screen. Simple enough, but challenging at the same time. I've had a blast playing through the levels with my 5 year old, discussing and analyzing things as you interact with them, trying to figure out how they fit into your goal. Any rating less than 5 (especially for the cost) shows no cerebral sense!

It was a truly unique experience like no other games on my iPad.

Highly recommended , more an adult game, lots of thinking to get through the levels. Hope you make more. I worked for 2 days to complete the game, giving up several times.

the creative minds who did this game did not do it justice by not making it longer. it's an amazing experience that takes a puzzle game to the next level. would love to see more come out of this game and the developers. must buy if you appreciate creativity and imagination put into games.

Ok this is a must have game, I love restarting it and throwing it on someone's lap. Their like what do I do? figure it out, once you start you have to finish it! Very little content with 10 or so maps 3 being challenging 7/10, 4 maps being 4/10, 3 maps 1/10 some solved within seconds 10 being the hardest to solve. added to my top games folder. 4 stars would require a lot more content, 5 stars would require additional content plus additional tweaks currently the gravity tweak and a few others are really worthless how about color changes new characters, figures, upside down mode, reversed I mean there's a million tweaks that could be added

I wondered why no one really explained what this game was about or how to play it. I figured I'd just give it a run.

No one explains what it's like because it's not like anything you've played. One reviewer said it's more of an experience than a game, and I tend to agree.

There are no instructions. You have to figure it out - not just how to play, but what you're supposed to do. It can be frustrating, but that sense of adventure, of discovery, is really worth it.

It's a short game and I finished in an hour or two, but I don't feel cheated. I feel rewarded for having gone on a fantastic ride and it makes me want to share that ride with you.

Give this game a run and let it wash over you. Don't cheat and look up the solutions. Trust me, it's worth it.

As other reviewers said - this is an experience worth having. Great presentation.. Really just great… But it's over in just a few short swipes - you can literally finish this in 20 minutes…. And there's no value to a second run-through.

If it had 5 times as many levels, this is 5 star… but as it is, it's still something I'd recommend.

Windosill is a delightful multi-room game, with seemingly no object which cannot be manipulated in some fashion. Some actions advance your progress, others are just for enjoyment as you move along through the rooms. True, it is rather short but is so very well done, I can't fault it in any way. The closing scene is not to be missed.

Agreed, Windosill seems to be meant for folks who enjoy exploration for its own sake as well as escape-the-room games. Unlike many escape games, your goal for each room is clear right away. The beauty of the game is found in the method of achieving the goal. Object manipulation is a pure pleasure; the game seems very logical as well as creatively done so older children and adults should be able to enjoy the experience. Graphics and animation are lovely to see. I wouldn't object to more levels someday :) In the meantime, it might be worth replaying in order to be sure I didn't miss any of the objects and what they do.
