STUNNINGLY great tech support!!

I really REALLY love this app (I've used it daily since 2011) and I can't say enough about how absolutely professional and instructional the tech team is for this incredibly easy-to-use app. I had a glitch (of my OWN making) and the app support team member (talking about YOU, 'K-man') quickly answered my questions and helped me solve the prob. Great update on 7/04, by the way! Thanks again!!

Excellent

Still appreciate this app a lot. Simple and efficient!!
I have a ton of these apps and this one, while simple, is my favorite. I even have omni focus which cost a lot more. Would love it for the Mac as well.
Keep it up developer.

Love this app! Does what I need it to do.

Simple and easy to use. I'm able to stay on track with things I need to do on specific days and times, while keeping a list of reminders without due dates. I also have a running list for discussion topics for meetings and ideas that I want to develop at a later date. Thank you for continuing to update this app!

Seriously lacking

No widget, no watch app, tasks show in calendar but you can't mark them complete or do anything to them in the calendar. I guess if you're still using an iPhone 4 this would be a good app

Amazingly Pure

Honestly, this app gets one very important thing right: information density. OmniFocus is tap in, tap out, just dealing with menus. Priorities is more like one or two very important screens with maybe an extra to do some fiddling. It just makes so much sense.
Animations are quite slow though. That's my big gripe.

Still the Best One Out There

Just updating previous review. I'm grateful the devs continue to support a classy app. Thank you! (3/2017)
Previous Review: I gave this app a 5-star review a couple years ago, and now I again want to commend the developers for continuing to support this top-notch app.
Priorities is a true gem.
Right now, with so many of my "good" apps becoming mediocre after updates, I am SO happy that this app remains solid, stable, and NOT CHANGED. That is really important!
Previous Review: Priorities is very easy to learn, yet it provides task management that easily competes with more expensive and complex apps.
Having online access is wonderful!
And, I love the lightening-fast sync across iOS devices and web.

Exactly What I Wanted

For the past 2 years I've been testing todo apps but was always disappointed with customization. For my work and professional needs I require an app that offers a prioritized todo list that's in my face and syncs perfectly with my Google calendar. Now that I've added the Prioritiesapp.com site to my Chrome profile, I can see my lists on my PC and my phone with flawless synchronization. Well done PrioritiesApp.

THE BEST I'VE FOUND...

I've been using Priorities for a couple of years now and loving it... but what inspired me to finally write a review was the reminder that I just set to pick up my foster daughter at her pre-school. She attends the MWF mornings and every time I try to set that kind of variable in the calendar apps... it's a pain. With Priorities, it was easy to select the 'repeat' each week and check Monday, Wednesday and Friday. I've also been able to set reminders for a group that meets monthly on the 3rd Tuesday. This software then puts my reminders into the calendars.
I have been so impressed with the work of Hand Carved Code that I was curious about what else they might have out. Unfortunately, all I found was one on Quotes... that I also bought... and least I sound like a fan boy (at 75), I am, but this review is unsolicited, long overdue (typical for librarians) and disconnect from the company (wherever they may be). Bottom line... best software on my iPad.

Best checklist app

Over the past 5 years or so I have tried many remind/checklist apps. I still keep going back to this one as the best, despite it almost never being updated. The recent update gives me hope this app will still be around for a long time. I especially like how recurring items don't appear until you want them to based on your preferences. It's frustrating that Apple's Reminders app will show things that are due 1 year from now, & there doesn't seem to be a way to hide that. You can control things like that here in Priorities. Now... Please make an Apple Watch version!!!

Wonderful to-do app

I AM SO HAPPY THIS APP HAS BEEN UPDATED. I was worried the developers would abandon this app, but they didn't. I run my life with this app! This is absolutely the best to do list in the app store. I have tried many of them. It is simple, clean and easy to use with great features that do not complicate its usage. It has templates for repeated tasks, sub lists, easy reminders, quick backups, web access, and I could keep going. . . .

I love this app!

I've tried all of the major todo list / simple project management apps, and I keep coming back to Priorities. It has an intuitive interface with the right balance of utility and complexity. I keep it docked as one of the four main apps, and use it throughout the day. The perfect synchronization across the web and iPad is a real time saver. I hope an Apple Watch extension is in the works... a feature I would gladly pay extra $$. Highly recommended!

I've been using this app for more than a year and I am still very impressed with its versatility and ease of use. I use this app more than any other, whether it is for "to do" lists or "shopping" lists or any of the other pages I've created to hold lists and info

Great app when it works. Bad customer service

I live in and rely heavily on this app for everything I do. Unfortunately some problems are getting worse and more frequent. I emailed them about this a week ago and have received no response. App has been freezing, split screen issues, not saving changes or new entries, or items marked complete, etc. Very annoying and problematic for me since I use it for business. Would love to hear from them.

Support good developers...

Update...still no response from tech support, but has been running quite well on iOS v9.3.4...
Great app in the past. Love the way it integrates with my calendar apps: Calendar, Google Calendar, Fantastical 2...however, crashes constantly on iOS v9.3.2 & v9.3.3. Server is still syncing between devises, but last update was over a year ago. No response from support. Really would like to see this app survive...clean, neat, very well designed. Perhaps the developer is so busy working on an upgrade that he hasn't had time to answer support emails...???

THE BEST!

Again I come back, try and try again I cannot find a true replacement for this app. @handcarvedcode, you stated on Twitter an update was coming. Please keep it simple, keep page format, calendar sync, maybe a few bells and whistles might be nice. Simplicity is what makes this app great. Hope to see an update soon.
Still the best and always comeback after trying new apps. Though @handcarvedcode loves to make you nervous with the updates.

Perfect!!!

Love everything about this app. Very impressed. Some "organizers" are nothing but pure chaos & leave me wondering What is going on inside the minds of their inventors!
This is logical, doesn't take 50 steps to do what you want, is clean & uncluttered to look at, & a cinch to switch between lists.
•Can create a category, ultimate goal, or "priority" by making a new page at bottom right corner.
•Then can create subcategories by choosing list icon.
•And then add list items under that category.
•The notes can even be used as another subcategory, when needed.
•Can check multiple days for weekly repeat tasks (other apps don't give this choice).
•Can pick a certain weekday of a specific week (i.e.: 3rd Saturday) for monthly due dates.
•Can create due dates for whole list, list items, or both together (not an option on many others).
•Can choose whether or not to have an alert (some apps seem to think you need alerts for each item on a grocery list!).
•Can sync mobile devices (not yet available for Mac, though).
•Can e-mail any list you wish. (I only tried this once, I just take a screenshot & send that, in case the device being used to open it doesn't have this app. The screenshot is easily printed.)
•Inexpensive, maybe the cheapest one I found.
*There was only one thing that I think would make this beyond perfect: On annual repeats, provide an option to choose a weekday of whatever week of whatever month you wanted, instead of a hard date. (i.e.: 2nd Monday of April. Certain year-end business chores are only Mon-Fri. Likewise, you can't get your taxes postmarked on a Sunday.)

No updates, no support, don’t bother

Priorities has reached the point of diminishing returns. It’s a great program if you like creating lists on a web page. But what do you do with them? You can’t print them. You can share them but they can’t print them either! I’ve sent numerous requests to their support but receive no replies. What good is an app with no support. Fortunately, this app didn’t cost me anything but I would gladly pay for an upgraded version that let me print pages. There have been no upgrades in over a year and non existent support. Disappointing.

Great App!

I love this app! I use it to track many different types of lists. It is very flexible and user-friendly. I use it for daily to-do lists, goals, temporary lists (such as a packing list for vacation), and many other things. I like the ability to link with the calendar and to email individual lists (it's easy to print or share). This is a great organizational tool.

Best!

Tried alot of list apps and this is the easiest for simple management of lists. I really like how you can star important items in each list and it pulls it into one list of top priorities or the day's to do list! Has some color features that I like but wish there was some wallpaper & font choices for each of the lists themselves. Organization wise, it gives you various choices for sorting, or not, so you can organize the info as you like.

Extremely Useful...

I've used Priorities for over a year now. I love the simplicity for my daily ToDo list. But I also like the sub tasks feature, because it lets me create a page for my long term projects. I can break them into small steps and keep track of them easily. I've tested most of the others, and this is the most logical and intuitive. It's also the quickest and easiest to use. I love the ability to choose my colors, multiple lists, and the clean graphic interface. Thanks for creating this product.

The Best App for Organizing Your Time and Your Life

PRIORITIES is my favorite app. I depend on it to keep my day organized. It frees my mind so I can concentrate completely on creative activities.
I have tested dozens of task managers and todo lists, and Priorities works best for me. Here are a few reasons why:
-- It is reliable: in 4 years I have never lost one bit of information.
-- It is beautiful to look at, especially when you customize it with your favorite colors.
-- It offers a number of ways to backup your information, including the one I use often -- export everything as one text file to my email.
-- It is flexible enough to let me set it up so that it mirrors the way I think and work. It keeps the tasks in their categories -- which is essential when you have many projects --and it shows what you need to do next.
--The online version is a bonus, and so clear to see and update when you're working on your big screen computer.
There is much more to this app, which is so powerful and so easy to use. I never met the developer, but I want to give him/her a giant wholehearted THANK YOU.

Indispensable - The Best List App I've Ever Found

As I was opening this application to use it yet again today, I was suddenly struck by how indispensable it's become. I use it for every conceivable piece of information I need to remember, from actions to items to medical needs, separated in different lists, only needing stars from me to add them to the main Priority list. That last ability, the Priority list, is a concept I don't know why all list apps don't have. But the interface of this particular app is so smooth, clear, pleasing and easy to use that it has truly become a normal part of my life. I could not imagine being without it. No amount of physical notes or traditional list apps could make up for it's lack. And as a person with mild autism, the way it has clarified my life has been a lifesaver in so many ways. Thank you for creating and maintaining this application! My one wish: The ability to have nested lists beneath a nested list. Thank you!

Simple, clean, reliable

This is a perfect mix of ease and function. I get advanced features like sync, web access and emailing of tasks. I get a list/one level sub task option. The autostar, alert and auto snooze functions are gold for replicating start dates and generating the nudges I need.
I am amazed at the low cost. I hope that this is a sustainable model, because I would hate to lose the tool.

Excellent task app!

This the exact same review I gave this app more than a year ago and it is still valid. I've tried a large number of task/todo apps over the last couple of years and Priorities is by far my favorite. Reasons include:
1. The experience is smooth and seamless between devices (iPhone, iPad and website). I can go from working on the iPhone to the website and it feels exactly the same. In other words, I can concentrate on getting my work done rather than adjusting to different interfaces.
2. It is a solid application. It always works as expected and I have never lost data.
3. The subtasks are the best I have seen. They are explicitly shown in a task-subtask hierarchy. The subtasks can be checklist items, subtasks with due dates or both within the same task.
4. Reviewing my tasks is like flipping through the pages in a book. I can easily see all my tasks and subtasks. Nothing is hidden and I never feel overwhelmed. It is a joy to work with.
5. It is a good looking app with a lot of attention to detail. Everything on the app is easy to access, touch and manipulate.
I would like to congratulate the developer on a well done app.

One of the best app for iPhone, iPad and PC

I cannot emphasize how easy & simple to use this application. I have it running on my iPhone, iPad and my computer. They all synch automatically and I can stay on top of all my projects. There are so many task & project management apps out there but "Priorities" is extremely easy to use, intuitive and very efficient. We all have busy schedule in our work & personal life and this app definitely helps me stay on top of it.

Clean and Easy*

I chose Priorities because I liked its color schemes and general appearance. Then I kept looking for a replacement because task/subtask entry seemed confusing and I hoped to find some nifty features. But it turned out that other apps had drab or irritating interfaces and fewer or less convenient features. Also, task/subtask entry was not confusing at all, once I paid some attention to learning the icons and rhythm of the program. Syncing between iPhone and iPad is very fast. I suggest that you give it a try before you pop for the more spendy apps.
Well, I didn't take my own advice, and I went for updates to the spendier apps. And have come back to Priorities.
I have it on my Mac, iPad, and iPhone. It's easy to understand, and you can keep your task structure simple or multilevel. Making entries is fast, and you can call it from Launch Center Pro. The app uses very little memory, too, important if you've got a 16GB iphone. Sync is superfast and reliable. I've used GTasks, Paperless, Things, Omnifocus, and Todoist. All have their good points, but for me, Priorities has a clean interface and just less friction in daily use.

Great App

I rely heavily on my To Do List to get things done today and in the future. The best feature of this App is the ease in entering a new To Do entry, and the ability to set a reminder/alert.
A nice feature of the App is to provide synchronization between say the IPhone and Ipad, and ability to put the priorities in groups and sub groups.
Other less important enhancements include (i) being able to see upon request completed to do's (ii) being able to set a privacy time for no reminders, and (iii) to have alerts without inputting a due time. Another enhancement is for the alerts to remain visible under Notifications at all times.
This is an updated REVIEW after more than 1 year of use. My only hope is for the Developers to continue supporting it, or for Apple to purchase the rights - as this should be an standard App instead of Apple's substantially inferior Reminders App.

Only one layer of sub tasks, no labels, no complex sorting, no interface with contacts, everything too simplistic and UI is not convenient. I downloaded it 5 minutes ago and wish I could get my money back because it clearly does not meet my needs. This is really only good for grocery lists.

Best to do app. Out there

This to do application is the best I have found. Believe me I have downloaded over 30 to do apps on my iPad and iPhone. I keep coming back to this one. I have now deleted all the others.
The only thing that was missing was a tag or context so I kept looking at other apps. I finally came up with the perfect solution and it works wonderfully, I simply use an Emoji for each context I need. I put it at the end of the title line. I use the house for home, a little car for errands, a briefcase for my work and an hour glass for waiting. They work very well as you can see the pictures on the screen and quickly see tasks for where you are, you can also search for the Emoji in the search feature and see all tasks with that emoji throughout your lists.
With that tip in place this is now the perfect app for me. I repeat many of my projects so the templates are perfect for just hitting a button and having that project show back up as a list. This app is very simple and very effective.

I've been using Priorities for two weeks now. I have tried--and, in several cases, used for a month or more--lots of different to-do apps. Couldn't be happier with this app, it's exactly what I've always looked for in a task management app. I've purchased just about every single app on the iPhone and gave them all a fair shake, none of them match this app in terms of usability.
There's room for improvement, but what's been done so far is fantastic.

Simple interface, makes managing tasks easy!

Have been using Priorities for several years now where it has lived on my home screen from day one. Love the simplicity and clean interface. Provides the functionality I need and set up so it integrates directly into a Gmail calendar for viewing on every device. Use it to track bills due, work items, Groupon/LivingSocial due dates. No reason to look elsewhere… A couple of suggestions for enhancements to increase usefulness — 1) integration to the Notification Window with a widget showing items due and ability to check when complete and 2) Ability to tie individual lists to separate calendars — i.e., Work tasks, Finance tasks, Personal tasks. etc.

My favorite app - finally an update

Updating for 2.5. I love the clean new look. Thanks for giving the app some love.
Old review: Sure wish it was maintained and improved like in years past. I fear having to abandon it as others catch up on easy functionality but with modern UI. It's looking very iPhone 2007. (A year with no update and not a peep from the developer, I presume the day job turned out to pay better than spending time on this.) I'd pay very good money for an update to freshen and address common requests. I'd pay REAL good money for a native Mac version.
Update August 10, 2014: new idea for the developer, if you are abandoning this, maybe sell to another developer who can continue your great work. I and many others would pay for an update!

Indispensable for GTD

I have tried about a dozen To Do list and organizational apps, and this is by far the best. It is flexible enough to implement just about any system you have, and does it beautifully and elegantly. The most essential element for me is the ability to add to my lists from a web interface- many of my tasks come to me via email, and I am a better and faster at typing on a full keyboard than on my iPhone. So I keep the web page accessible on my computer, and use the app so my lists are always with me, so I can cross off items or add new ones wherever I am.
If you are looking for an app to implement the GTD system, or want a unified list app that works both at your desk and away, this is the best one out there!

Amazingly Helpful

I used to use like 3-4 diff apps for lists & shopping among other things. This app basically combined all the things I loved about the other apps I used to use in one awesome app. Multiple lists, sharing, reminders, multi platform use, syncing, ext. It even allows you to have a Main Category in a list and sub items. This is great when shopping… I have a list fr Frozen, Fridge, and Dry Good and from there I can make a list just for canned goods, boxed goods, juices, veggies, ect. It's AWESOME!
If there was one thing I would change, it's actually just an enhancement, would be to have one more sub category for more organization. And a Mac app. lol =P

Almost perfect

I use it for work all the time to keep my jobs organized. I work in construction and its great for that. Also use it at home for all kinds of things. The one thing I wish they would add is making checklist items expandable to have a small checklist within them. A checklist to complete an item on a checklist. For example, you make a list of things to do before going on vacation. One item is pack, and has everything you don't want to forget under it, second item is clean the house, lock the doors, etc. third item etc. I just think it would be useful. Other than that its perfect

Finally!

After years of searching and trying 100+ iPad, phone and web apps I've finally found Priorities. This is exactly what I've been searching for. I love all the features, but #1 was syncing between my computer (via web app) and iPad. #2 was subtasks and this app handles it beautifully. I can also now get rid of my grocery app, too. The calendar integration is a nice feature that I didn't know I wanted, but I like it, as well as being able to customize the look and feel with fonts and themes. I just deleted Wunderlist and can say goodbye to Firetask (which is another great app, but a bit over complicated).

Use it for Getting Things Done

I love this app. I was searching among apps and a review of a lesser app had Priorities listed as the reason the person left the other app. Have I said I love this app? If you have ever read the book by David Allen called, 'Getting Things Done,' this is the app that can help you achieve that. It isn't lists. It is projects, tasks, and subtasks, all with alarm options and ways to bring it to your attention the way and time that works for you. Since they have finally released an upgrade to edit completion date, I had to say thanks with a 5-star review. They really listen to feedback! They respond to emails! They want to make a product people can use! I will likely be waiting awhile for the release that allows for sub-sub-subtasks; but that is because I am probably the only one who wants them. But they listened to my requests! Oh, and the repeat interval is top notch. I haven't seen anything this good since the way old days of Datebook5 for Palm products! Thank you, Priorities!!

Easy to Use

I got this to replace another app that had been changed too much for my liking. But I had used the old app for quite some time, and I thought that I might find another one that was maybe 1/2 as good as it was. In my opinion, this app is at least twice as good as the one I was using. The way that you can sync to another device is great. I like the different colored list headers, and the way the priorities list will take items from all of my other lists. I like the sub tasks, and that it doesn't bother you for a due date, you can choose one if you want it. I also like the choice on sorting of lists, and having checked items go to the bottom. This works well for shopping, as I just uncheck items I need, and check them again when I buy them. The same for a travel list, just check off things that are packed, and uncheck them before the next trip.

I like this

I am finally putting together fractured tasks from several apps, all with unique strengths. I gave up on OmniFocus, because it needed pruning and I used it for birthdays and cleaning due dates off last completion. I like ChorePad HD, but it's not good for monthly stuff and annual things. It also doesn't group. I LOVE timer, but with too many interruptions, it's nearly useless. Easy Task is a great alternative to OmniFocus, but it has no search capabilities and is a little buggy. It allows for prioritization, a weakness of GTD. This app is a little buggy at times, but this combines some of my favorite features, except with these caveats: I am not sure why it's called priorities when the only priority field is a binary star? What about high, med & low? The calendar feature doesn't set individual times, but days instead. This can be misleading when looking at the app screenshots.
As a final update, although this is my favorite app, I quit using it, as-I know this would be hard-but I'd like to order tasks under the Priorites heading. That way I can do them in the best order for me during the day. Also, I would really like some sort of explosion of stars or at least a bbbbbllllliiiinnnnnggggg! sound as an extra little horrah upon completion (as a feature that's customized as on or off) of a task. It would also be cool to have little icons that I can assign to each task, just for fun and added incentive.
Thanks and keep up the good work.

Great App!

This is an amazing to do app, the best one I've tried to date and I've tried a few. I love the fact that you can create sub categories which is something I've been looking for. Syncing and sharing with people through your calendar is a great feature as well as sharing individual pages with other people who also have the app or just simply into sharing on your calendar.
Really easy to use and very straight forward.
One thing I would suggest, is once a sync happens it would be great if we had a refresh button or it just automatically syncs without having to completely exit the app and turning it back on.

Elegant, Intuitive, Effective

Well, I'm surprised I've decided to take time out to write a review of an app. But here I am. And I'm writing this because I have been looking for this type of task management approach ever since Apple opened the App Store. I have tried almost all of them, including OmniFocus and Things, which are well written apps, but this app is the one I have been looking for.
The interface is clean, attractive, simple, theme modifiable, straightforward, and with plenty of features for timing, reminders, notes, repetition and sharing. I would love to see some upgrades in manual task positioning rather than just with starring and date prioritizing, but the design quality of this app far outweighs any over importance of my short wish list.
I will certainly recommend this app to my colleagues and I would recommend it to anyone searching for a task management app with this strong feature set and elegantly simple, effective interface.

Simple, elegant and powerful

Priorities is a great iPhone app, but an even better iPad app! It really shines on the iPad's big screen, where navigating between lists, viewing sub-tasks, and general editing is just so easy. Quick data entry makes it incredibly easy to create checklists and projects, and syncing between my iPhone and iPad is fast, flawless, and unobtrusive.
It is a long time since I felt in so in control of my projects and tasks. The app is an almost perfect blend of simple, elegant design with just the right amount of functionality. I have a clear overview of my key areas, projects and tasks, and nothing is buried behind layers of complexity. What's more, the app is just plain fun to use - a refreshing change from some of its staid competitors.
Great job!

Great app, would like a few refinements

I am something of a ToDo list junkie. I have downloaded a number of them only to be repeatedly disappointed. Priorities is the first ToDo app that made me actually transfer my ToDo lists from my previous app (Outliner). I was looking for a ToDo list manager that could sync between devices automatically and could handle nested ToDo items (sub tasks). I am very pleased with the sync function. I am a bit disappointed that the nesting only goes down one level within a page. I am using on both an iPad and a iPhone and like the app on both devices.
My suggestions to the developer for improvements would be:
1) be able to see notes in-line with the list
2) be able to indent items multiple levels
3) be able to default to adding new items at the top of the list
4) when rearranging items, just dragging them is the expected behavior. Having to tap and hold is not standard behavior and the app had to have a note at the bottom of the page explaining that
5) allow editing-in-place for items without having to resort to the pop up pane all of the time.

Goldilock application - Just right

I am been looking for and using for sometime applications that allow for solid task management and this is the first app that I have found that meets all the requirements and yet prevents things become from becoming too complex. It has a web interface for the desktop, a good application for the smart phone, alerts, ease of separation of various projects, multilevel sub tasking without getting the task lost or buried, and all with ease and simplicity. The high rankings for this application from users I can verify are correct. Some may want a priority ranking for a task, not on this app but I am finding with this app maybe that is not so bad to keep from burying task in complex levels. Dr. Ted gives this app a thumbs up!

Simple, organized & clean

Making the switch from a paper list where my 8 categories and 10 things in each was overwhelming-this app simplified it all! Very clean layout, easy to setup, eliminated the handwritten, scratched out list that I felt like was constantly being copied over and looking messy. Like the option to choose colors, background designs are neat. Integrates with calendar app on iPad/iPhone-nice bonus feature. Each task does not have to have a due date. Love the list feature!
The priority level is either a priority, or not (no levels). At first I wanted the levels, but now that I've used it extensively this week, this keeps it less cluttered in my mind. I set my priorities based on what I want to accomplish for this week. Pages/categories I've made include: personal, financial, home, family, errands, craft, returns, homeschool, other, and purchases. I like that the "Priorities" section pulls all my starred items from each category so I'm not switching back and forth in each page to see what I need to do.
This is the first review I've ever written, and just wanted to say it was well worth the $3, and I have never been as pleased with an app as I am with this one. I use Google Calendar, integrated with the apple calendar app, but have found the tasks in google calendar not as well organized, nor as easy to input. Thank you for an app that gives me mental clarity and a manageable to-do list.

So attractive and easy to use

Priorities is so user-friendly that it makes maintaining an overwhelming task list a pleasant experience. Although this app may not have all the sorting features of a more complex app, I find that there are just the right number of features for this to meet my needs — including the "Priorities" section that pulls up a list of just the tasks that are starred, nesting tasks, alert and repeat functions, sharing lists, and saving templates. And syncing to calendar works great! It's super easy to sync between devices. There is a webpage version I can use at work. Lastly, I LOVE the interface. To some extent, you can customize colors, art in the headers, and fonts. After setting things up the way I like, I now actually enjoy looking at my tasks — instead of dreading my to-do list. Thank you to the developers!

Finally, a winner app!

Almost didn't pick this app up after spending too many hours trying out the others. I am so glad I did. I use it to keep myself abreast of all my chores, jobs, events, shopping, goals, and more.
Very intuitive and virtually no learning curve, so it was useful to me from day one. That's what an app should be. Even though easy to use, I find it more useful all the time. So far it is also rock solid.
Don't mess it up, developer. Swiss Army Knife productivity apps that have a blade for everything may seem nice, but it gets old carrying around 2,657,243 blades when you only need a dozen, which you can't find in the mess when you need them. Can't think of anything else Priorities needs than what it already has.
I feel like you made this app just for me, so thank you, and I'll be seeing what else you have for me now and in the future.
Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! If it weren't blasphemous for me to say it, I would call you a god. But to keep my soul safe I'll just call you a king among the best of app developers.

Great App!

This is a great app. There are a couple changes to preferences that would make it awesome. I would like for some of the preferences to apply per page vs general. For instance, on some pages, I want the tasks to show in my calendar but I do not want all tasks that have due dates to show. Same for auto deleting. Since I keep Notes on the task, I do not want it to auto delete when complete in case I forget to send the notes for record before deleting. Finally, when sending a task by email, if it has already been completed, it shows up in the email with a line through it. However, I still think this is a great app and use it very much with work and home.

Great Productivity App

Oftentimes, productivity apps do either too much or too little. Some applications, such as Todo or Omnifocus, bog one down with an array of options that may or may not be useful. Other apps are similar to simple to-do lists, which don't usually provide enough customization for varied inputs. Priorities, to me, is like a happy medium - in between a to-do list and a full-fledged GTD app. The interface is simple and beautiful, and the pages and alerts are spot on, making it easy for me to add tasks/ lists whenever I come across them. In the future, it would be nice if the developer could add a "template" style feature, so that all new tasks would automatically have certain preferences associated with them, but that's a trite request. This app is amazing as it is.

Absolutely the best hands down!

I have never written a review before, but quite frankly after using this app one night I had to tell you THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!!! This app does everything that I need it to do. It syncs beautifully between my IPad and iPhone. I love the list feature, it allows me separate my to dos as well organize them cleanly. My wife and love the fact that we can share list, now when we go shopping we both have what we need and we won't forget anything. The star feature is awesome I set my stars ahead of the due dates that way I can look at my priorities list and see what upcoming events, tasks or dos need to be addressed first. I can't thank the developers enough, you have helped me tremendously when it comes to organizing my life! The best $2.99 I will ever spend. 😃

No glitter, it just works!

I don't want or need a task list or to do list that adds pictures, sounds, fluffy pillows or sprinkles. What I needed was something that let me create a list of tasks (goals) to remind me about the details of what needed to get done. I wanted a few colors to easily identify things. I wanted a pleasing, easy to read layout. Alarms are always good. Then, I needed that list to appear in the iPad's calendar and on my phone without going through backflips to do it (I gave up on all third-party calendars after I lost an important meeting because of google sync issues!). This app actually does all of this. It's simple. It's easy to use. No frills, no cute pictures of kitty-cats (well, there are some very nice colors and textures), no zillion colors to choose or set, no thousand choices for categories, priorities, tags, or badges. My list of tasks "just" appears in the iOS calendars, like magic. Isn't that nice? It works! (To the developers: don't screw it up by adding glitter and sprinkles to the app--simplicity is good!)

Really well done. I've tried several outline apps and this is probably my favorite. It's very easy to use and allows quick entry. It has strong search (not just exact full string match) across pages which is very nice.
Want to comment on another comment mentioned here from my perspective. The lack of two level nesting was what originally bothered me too. But, I looked back at another app I was using for a while and noticed I rarely went 2 deep. The reason was that it got hard to view. The quick ability to add another page helps mitigate the need. That said I would probably like to see it support one more level (but I think infinite is not necessary).

Great app. Great price.

I've tryed a lot of task management apps (upwards of 15) and this is by far the best. This app has great response time, manages lists well, and an effective sync. My favorite parts of this app is the iOS calendar intergration with dated tasks and my overall favorite is choosing what becomes a badge notification (using their task starring system). The only downside of this app is that the sync button is not easily accessible (you have to press the settings than press sync or simply close and reopen the app). This is not a big deal but it does sacrifice small amounts of time.
Bottom line: this app is great app for everyday todos. The UI is very well done with colors and different backgrounds and textures. I would suggest a more high powered app for team planning or business (which usually are $6+). So overall I suggest this app to people just wanting to keep track of everyday things, like me.

Just the best for task and time management.

Priorities is just pure joy to use, such an elegant app in substance and style, both form and function...... The best for task, project, and check list management, from setting up simple errands to important family needs to plotting an successful big work project. And so flexible to move project tasks into a to do list for this week or today and then move to a holding list while waiting for responses. Plus the task can be entered on the iPad calendar app or other calendar app as an apointment just by giving it a due date in Priorities, and voila, Priorities even schedules for you.
I am hoping future versions will include a priorities calendar so that the colors assigned to pages/projectsin Priorities can carry over to the calendar so that the color coding used in Priorities carries over automatically to calendar based on the priorities color scheme. Also, I'd like a default page where all completed tasks go, listed by project, sort of a reverse of the starred tasks list, so that completed is out of the way and out of sight but still accessible.

Great App

After running a few to do apps through the ringer over the last several weeks, I've settled on Priorities. It's attractive in a clean, polished way, and quickly syncs with iCal, as well ask iPhone. You can also create sub-items that are visible in the main view, and can be starred separately, so they show up on the priorities page when they are imminently due. Another great feature is the ability to automatically star a task by certain amount of days so that it becomes a priority before its final due date. Of course, you can order by due date/priority, create templates (like groceries list), and more, while remaining very simple to use without a bunch of fluff or features I don't need. It's inexpensive, too, and has been stable. One feature I'm not sure about is how the app handles completed tasks. It puts a line through them, grays them out, and puts them at the bottom of the list. You can delete them but once you do so, they are gone. Maybe it's just an OCD thing, but I wish there was some type of completed tasks folder/page. Sometimes I like to double-check that I've actually done something and confirm that it's been completed. Nevertheless, one of my most used apps on my iPad.

LOVE.

I love this app. Like one reviewer said, it's very simple but also very robust. You can quickly jot down things as they come to you, but you also can easily add lots of customizable things in terms of repeats, due dates, alerts, etc. I think it looks great and so far it is working great for me, too.
Only two features I would love to see, and I would give it 5 stars in a heartbeat -- The first is pretty simple: I'd like to be able to change a task's page instead of having to delete and remake in the new page. The second one: I would love to have some sort of desktop client, whether web-based or a mac app. Something to allow editing/viewing/syncing on my laptop.
Even without those things, I still LOVE this app and highly recommend it.

Awesome!

If you are looking for a simple, easy to use, intuitive package to manage your to-do list, this is it. The interface is very nice, you can set up lists and manage them separately but your top priorities are organized into a separate overall list for you. Ability to set dates, reminders, etc that you would expect. Syncs great with iPhone and iPad and Mac. Just got this app and already is helping me keep my crazy workload more sane. You don't need to pay $40 for ominfocus and all of its complicated featuers - if you just want to manage your work list and priorities. This app is really inexpensive and you will be using it effectively in 5 minutes.

Great support from developer!!!!

I have this app on my iPhone 4s and iPad2. Couldn't function without it. I organize my to do lists under different projects. Lately, unfortunately, I find those sub line items spontaneously re-organized under other projects. Had to redo all. Took lots of time. Happened again. Thought to be smart by using my template, which I had updated, like a backup. That worked only partly. Yes, I had a complete correct list again, but lost all my dates, days, times, repetitions, etc. Hoping for a fix. Really enjoyed using this app while it performed correctly. It makes me think it has to do with syncing to the developers website.
And then someone actually responds to your email inquiries and helps you figure out what went wrong. I will keep monitoring my settings and my use. So far so good. It is so much easier to manage my life using this app!!!!!
No more sticky notes, less anxiety, renewals, annual appointments, pet medications, projects, regular to do lists, product info for future purchases, i input it all...and haha, I actually now have time to do things or just enjoy life!

Outstanding

I have researched over 25 apps looking for something simple enough to replace my everyday to-do list but complex enough to manage long-term goals and the many different aspects of my life (household to-do; home improvement; goals & aspirations; workouts; errands; etc). Priorities has become my most used and most important app on my iPhone. I would be lost without it. It helps me focus on what needs to be done Today and helps me avoid being caught up in the weeds of big long lists. I have put this app thru the paces. It will edit, slice, prioritize and organize your lists anyway you need to. It will allow subcategories to items so you can track the items that contribute to a larger goal. I have not discovered anything I wish it could do that it can't besides wishing it was integrated into my main apple operating system so I could use iCloud and siri to operate it. Honestly, this app is worth $20 or $30 compared to what lesser apps are charging. Don't hesitate. If you like apple products and how intuitively they interface, this one won't disappoint you.

This app is fantastic!

I am always looking for the "perfect" app to track my action items for projects, goals, tasks, etc.. This app is by far my favorite. Easy to use and I mean "easy"! Awesome support and very receptive to my ideas/suggestions. Real communication, not automated. Create a page then save it as a template. Move lists/items from one page to another. Synching is easy to setup and fast. I installed to my iPhone and synced everything in just a few seconds! Can't wait for the next update to see if they made the minor modifications I am hoping for. When I compare to other paid apps, I consider it well worth the price.

Beats It's Competitors, Hands Down

I have purchased more than 20 task management apps from iTunes, some costing much more than Priorities. All have disappointed me until I bought this app. Priorities is intuitive, full-featured yet easy to use. It's UI is modern but not cluttered or confusing. Using the cloud to sync with multiple devices is fast and accurate. Priorities also syncs with the native Calendar and uses Notifications, so I have three ways of reminding myself of critical due dates.
There are only two improvements I would suggest. I have tasks that need to occur only on the 5th Sunday of the months that have five Sundays. Setting repetition to "Last Sunday" gives me unwanted occurrences on some 4th Sundays. Repetition should be revised to allow tasks to be due on the 5th occurrence of a day of the week. My second suggestion would be to develop desktop or web apps so we can access the cloud from a Mac or PC.
Then Priorities would be nearly perfect!

Excellent for keeping track of our busy lives!

I'm the kind of person who needs to write things down and sort them out so I can get them done. I've tried writing things on the Apple Mail notes, I've tried other To-Do apps, but this one hands down takes the cake! It lets you divide the things you need to do into pages (so you can have a page for work, home, groceries, hobbies, etc.) and within those pages you can divide into sub-categories as well. For someone like me, who needs to see things sorted, this is just great! Plus, syncing between the iPhone/iPod Touch versions and the iPad is awesome. The only thing that would make this even better would be an OS X app that syncs as well. Go get your priorities done!

Finally! Someone Did It Right!

Four stars for a nearly perfect Tasks/To do app. Priorities is what I have waited three years for. It is virtually the perfect task manager for iOS. I won't rehash what you can read in the description, since that is clearly and accurately written.
Priorities excels where every other task manager has failed. It is extremely simple to use, beautiful to look at, intuitive UI, rapid and accurate syncing across devices, and contains tons of features that are actually useful (reminders, alerts, repeating tasks, subtasks, etc.).
I have owned and used: Todo (Appigo), Things, Awesome Note + To do, Put Things Off, OmniFocus, Bento, 2Do, Remember The Milk, and others I can't remember. All have certain things that are good. None have the combination of usefulness, ease of use, or bang for the buck of Priorities. I can't believe how much money and time I've spent on Task managers that were either too complex to use, or stupidly expensive. For example, Todo, by Appigo requires three different purchases for iPhone, iPad, and Desktop versions, plus requires an annual fee for syncing with Todo Live. Get real! And their customer service is virtually non-existent. But I used it, because the app worked well.
Not any more.
Priorities will get a full five stars when I see a couple more tweaks and have had more time with it. Great app!

Freaken awesome, whoops

I am a bit (ok way) OC about these things and so I have tried about 100 various todo list tools on iPhones, iPads, pcs, web, inter-corporate homegrown, etc., starting way before you could even buy a home computer. I could easily write a book about this topic. Unless you want a much more complicated tool that you spend about as much time with task data management and scheduling as you spend actually accomplishing tasks, then this one is the one. For me, right now, this one has the best balance of ease of use, eye candy, data detail level, and functionally, etc. than any of the others. It was the only one that, after getting to know it and using it religiously (together with my outliner copy/paste), made me at least think I was accomplishing tasks rather than managing them... You know what I mean? - how come there is no 6 star rating... I would give it that. And no, they did not pay me for saying any of this. Whoops, wrote review too soon... No undo, too easy to delete data, did, can't get back, and sync between iPhone and iPad does not sync task order.

Perfect to-do app (nearly)

I've downloaded, and then abandoned, more to-do/task apps than I care to remember. I'd pretty much given up when I came across Priorities.
Critical feature #1 is the multiple, color-coded lists. How people use apps that merely let you create folders or tags is beyond me. I need to see all my lists easily, and swiping through them is perfect.
Next, they make the process of adding and editing tasks so easy. You can move items between lists, or within a list, quickly. You can create subtasks -- again, a critical function. You can star items and then quickly review just those. I use that throughout the day to be sure I'm getting all my high-priority stuff done. One thing I'd love to see them add is allowing an item to be on more than one list simultaneously.
Due dates and reminders are the weakest aspect of the app, imho. They are functional, but it's not as seamless to give a task a due date with a time as it is with other functions in the app. If you put a due date, time and reminder to every single one of your tasks, I doubt you'll be happy with this app. But if you want a fantastic way to manage multiple tasks and activities, in different aspects of your life, you won't find a better app.

Simple, elegant, effective

I have tried dozens of task management programs in my role as host of the Get-It-Done Guy podcast. I abandon most of them because they are too simple or they have so much mechanism that using them, itself, becomes an entire project.
Priorities hits the sweet spot. You can define one level of task/subtask, which leads you to scope to-do items at just the right level of do-ability. The multiple lists appear as swipable multiple pages, letting your mind think of switching lusts as switching contexts. It is one of those tiny interface issues that seems small and has an oversized impact when you use it. Lastly, the sharing of single pages means you and your teammates or family members can have a shared list--say, a shopping list--while keeping the other pages private.
Priorities is a win!

Perfect...

...if you don't need all of the fancy stuff apps like the more complicated evernote offers. I have nothing against that app but I just don't need anything fancy; just something to get rid of all of those little pieces of paper with my to do lists on them. I hate those tiny pieces of paper and love that they are gone. I enter what I want on what page I want, enter due date and time, set alarms, add notes, and I have the ability to change all of these things as my day changes. I mean if I don't get something done on one day I just change the due date, and other things. I don't have to enter it in again. I love how everything goes into my iphone calendar and once I'm done shopping I can delete it and it goes away from my calendar. I can still enter events I don't want deleted into my iphone calendar. It does more things too. For me it is perfect. Good bye little pieces of paper!

Pages-based task mgmt works well

Like other reviewers, I've tried many todo and proj mgmt apps. This is the first that really stuck with me, because of:
Page-based task grouping.
Create a page for a job, a project, all home tasks, and see only those tasks at a time without searching.
Sharing.
This was the original reason I tried the app. You send invite from app which sends email. Recipient clicks link in email to start seeing shared page.
Hierarchical lists!
Although only one level deep, when combined with page-grouped tasks, really allows a lot of organizational flexibility.
Well-implemented repeating tasks
Repeating tasks have option not to repeat until previous is checked as done. A real important feature for daily/weekly tasks that would otherwise pile up.
Needs improvement:
Need a default page to show all due/overdue tasks from multiple pages.
Need option to store completed task in another page. Currently, they either remain in list or are automatically deleted!
An excellent and well-thought out task management tool.

This app Transformed my life!!!

This may turn out to be the best $3 I have ever spent in my life! I have gone though DOZENS of different notes and organization apps and this one is BEYOND SUPERB!!! Also, each time I think they can't get any better, they go ahead and add some other improvement which makes it even more functional! 5 stars is woefully inadequate in describing how amazing this app truly is.
A few suggestions for the next update: I wish the master list of different categories was not so hard to get to at times when you are in other places inside the app; I wish they had an option to just make simple lists when I need; I wish that I could send notes alone as an email and be able to attach pictures or recordings to it. You could say that this is more of a wish list than a complaint, because if they dis absolutely nothing from this point on, I'd still be happy as a clam!

Best note, To Do app I've used!

I've used several other apps that claim to be "the best" and so far Priorities far outshines them in terms of capability.
The biggest use that I have and love about it, is the ability to have subheadings in each folder created. I find that of great use when I add daily task for myself that repeat every week on that specific day. So I can create a to do list on Monday, for example, with the chores I do that day and each can be checked off separately. This is a definite plus that sets this app apart from other note/To Do apps I've paid good money for.
Others have made great suggestions for improvement so I hope they are taken into consideration for future updates!!!

Right blend of features - highly usable

I have tried a lot of apps and was using Wunderlist for a while (which is still a great free app). But I tried this one and was v pleased by a very thoughtful design and interface.
All the features are perfect and cover almost all of the use cases that I need.
Sub tasks are extremely useful and so is email export/sharing.
The concept of pages also makes this app quick to use.
It's very fast to open too.
What this needs (to an almost perfect app):
A good web interface - I am much faster on the web for some heavy duty task editing
Individual task formatting - colors, bold etc to make some standout.
Location tasks - something to remind me to deposit that check when I leave the office!
Better support for completed tasks: Wunderlist is v good at this. Completed tasks are important for later reference, I don't like to delete those as the current app prefers to do.
In conclusion, you won't regret getting this app.
Update: I am currently giving it 4 stars due to problems that show up when number of tasks increase. I can't add tasks at positions that I want, it only adds them to the bottom. Also it has poor support for completed tasks.. There is no separate option to view all my completed tasks for all pages and yet not show up in my main todo list. I think thats really important after a while. I don't want to lose my completed tasks and yet not clutter my main todo list!

Perfect app!

After purchasing at least 70 apps without leaving a review, this is the app that made me speak up. This app is completely intuitive and immaculately organized. It functions well as a to do list, but can serve as organizer/alarm on the same list. I love the sub-list function and would like to see a sub-sub-list function, but it works well as is. Style is not critical in an organizer, but it augments well here, as they have preserved the simplicity of apple's design which adds to the intuitivity of the program. This comes at a great time as i am moving/renovating/have a new baby, and am generally and permanenty disorganized. Seriously well done.

Perfect todo app!

Thank you, thank you, thank you!
I've tried multiple todo apps and this blows them all out of the water. It's the perfect balance between simplicity and robustness. I couldn't ask for anything better. The app ToDo was far too complicated just to make simple additions and the app Do It Tomorrow was just too simple, but this marries the two perfectly. Love the sub-lists and how easy they are to create. Making a shopping list is quicker than any dedicated shopping list app too!
Just don't bloat it up with too many new features in updates! The simplicity is so great and the power features are easy enough to get to without getting in the way of quickly entering tasks!

Outstanding

After buying and trying dozens of similar applications I thankfully tried the lite version of Priorities. I found that, although some improvements could be made, this was the one that suited my organization style the best. I readily purchased the full version. It is functional, efficacious and versatile.
No application is perfect for every end-user. I had a few suggestions for the developer who, to his credit, responded in a very timely manner. This kind of support is almost more important to me than perfecting an application. For those who might wish for some of the same improvements that I suggested, here is the developer's response.
Calendar Notes - We're looking into adding hiding the notes as an (default hidden) option to hide this in 1.2
Task Count - We're looking into adding a number badging for the Pages screen in 1.2. This would basically have the number of items that are due or overdue, and the total number of tasks for the list.
Parent/Child in iCal - We're looking to add this as an option in 1.2.
I look forward to the next version and have already made this application a part of my daily bag of organizational tools.

Eureka! This could be it!

I have bought, tried, and used and deleted numerous task/todo apps over the past several months and as soon as I started using Priorities I was immediately drawn to it. I find it easy to use and actually fun and enjoyable to view. I like sliding back and forth to my various lists as well as utilizing the customization options. Very simple yet elegant. One addition that would really make this top notch for me would be the ability to incorporate photos into my notes as needed...then, I could delete my other task apps. And, perhaps, the ability to assign more consecutive days to a task/event, not just one day. Thanks!!
