MonkeyMote for foobar2000 gives you a full-fledged wireless foobar2000 remote control for your iPhone or iPod touch.
It connects to foobar2000 running on your Windows PC via your WiFi network and allows you to view information about currently playing tracks and control every important playback feature.

Does not work
The lite version will connect all day but this paid version just gives errors. What a waste of time and money.

After many attempts to reinstall foobar2000 different versions, and monkeymote plugins automatic discovery not works. Can not connect PC

Works like a charm.
Control, volume and search work fine. I enjoy the track details provided when you tap on the song that's playing.
Best of all, the developer is quick to respond to questions and is respectful (When it's user error to boot!). $1.99 well spent. (IOS 15.4.1)

Work just one day
Absolute crap this app is. It was working for just one day. I was trying to connect to foobar2000 on next day but keep getting “connection attempt failed…” message. IP and port were correct. Don’t waist $2.

Great Remote, just needs iWatch app
I use it all of the time for basic controls and library navigation. iPhone and iPad both work great. I wish It had remote controls on the iWatch. Only thing I remember was that I had problems with adding things to a playlist but I need to go back and try that again.

Best app
Control your music stored on ur pc from everywhere. The only thing that is not working is the playback queue. Would be nice if they fix it.

Buffering and crashes
Needs work. With much work, trial and error I am not able to keep a connection. There are limited options available and after working through each one, there are still issues with buffering, drops and disconnects.

Last update glitch
Last update has a screen issue on iPhone X. Library browse, icons at bottom (Artist, Album, genre, etc) barely visible and not accessible.

Needs a few changes
I had no problem getting my iPhone and Android tablet connected to my laptop and mini pc. Love the app. My big complaint is that artists names beginning with "The" are listed under T. Should be an easy fix for the developers. I would also love to sort albums by year. Currently you have to search for a year, find a track from an album you want then search for the album in order to listen to that whole album. The user interface is also not the easiest to navigate though I'm used to it now.

The best Foobar2000 controller for iOS
Despite the cutesy name, MonkeyMote has been and is the premiere iOS native app for Foobar2000 network control. That it continues to be developed and supported by the creator speaks volumes about the project. One day Peter may build rich network control into the Foobar iOS app, but until then, MonkeyMote is the best solution available.

Update, Won't connect
After a lot of experimenting,trial and error, and re-installing the plugin into the PC It finally showed up in foobar2000 and is now working.
This is a terrible app that requires a lot of computer know how to even try to use. You have download plugins to your computer and type in DOS commands to find IP address and still doesn't work. No detailed step by step instructions that I can find. Won't even find my network automatically.

Great App to remote control foobar
App works flawless with my foobar. I was able to switch between multiple install and never had an issue with the connection. When I needed support Martin is very responsive and helpful.

What can I say, this perfect little app did just what I needed it to do all for 2 dollars. Just having used it under a week I feel I've got my money's worth. Can be a little glitchy at times but at as long as the music is running it solves the purpose of remote, and then some.

I use this and the Winamp version all the time! My only minor gripe is that on newer phones with larger screens, I feel like the UI is too cluttered and I'm unable to rotate the orientation. On my iPhone 4, it displays just the right information without looking too cluttered.

Essential for the audiophile
Slick UI, responsive, highly customizable, dev cuts regular releases. Streaming is another .99 but is obviously worth it. You basically get full control of your preferred PC playback client. If you're smart enough to hate itunes you'll love it

Great app!
Works flawlessly. Better than Apple's Remote by a long shot, functionally. Interface is less than perfect, though, and sometimes a little clunky. Paid streaming for a 2-dollar app feels like a bit of a push.

This app blows away mpod
I have been a long time linux music server user based on mpd or Logitech Media Server. My problem with mpd is that remote control apps on iOS are mediocre at best.
Recently I discovered that the *sound quality* of Windows Server Essentials 2012 surpasses all the other OS'es, when properly configured (yes, that is right). Long story short: I'm evaluating Windows Server 2012 with Foobar2000 and wasapi component as a replacement for 5 years of Linux sound.
After enabling firewall access for Foobar2000 and installing the required component, remote control works like an out of the box experience.
What makes me really, really excited is that this app is the first one I know supporting 'composer tags'. With a library of classical music, this is the first time I'm able to open the app and look for 'something Strauss', no other app offered me this feature. Thank you so very much!

This is awesome!
I was looking for a way to control foobar from my phone when I'm not at the computer. This does it perfectly! And it is accessible with Apple's voiceover, and has high contrast options for low vision users. So it's perfect for the cited in the blind. You can't get much better than that.

Great Stability, Responsive Developer
This is a wonderfully stable app that interfaces very smoothly with foobar. In the year or so I have had this app it has received several improvements, and emailing the developer on two separate occasions has met with very fast, courteous, and helpful replies. He has been quite open to suggestions and seems genuinely interested in user feedback to improve the user experience.

Perfect app for any foobar2000 user
This app is perfect since the moment I tried the lite version; well worth the price. Especially useful for people who have non-standard looping video game music formats in the library as foobar + vgmstream plays those without a hitch, and this app can control it with as many hooks in the iOS system as the native music app.

Great remote app
I've been waiting for this app. Now I can relax and stop jumping up to pause or change my music. Sure would like an HD version for the iPad.
Would like to be able to display playlist items by title before artist since I have artist names so long I can't see the title. Would also like to be able to search for music by composer as well as by album, artist and genre. Nice work. I hope improved versions are on the way.
