This app works great on my iPad, but doesn't work that well on my iPhone. If it would've worked as well on the phone it would've been five star review.

So good. Kinda ticks me off that they keeep asking me to rate this app every time I turn it on. Like dude, I payed $3.99 for this app AND I have to use data? Let me alone and quit asking me to rate your app.

But yeah other than that it's ok.

Can't type in a location in navigation. Cant turn into HUD which is why I wanted the app. Will not recommend not what it says it is.

This is by far the easiest GPS tracking app I've used! Just wish they would incorporate a track feature for circuit racing with lean angle detection.

I sent an email to the support site. NOTHING BACK! I use this app for work, well I was going to. It stops tracking about 5 minutes after starting. It's definitely NOT worth the $3.99 I paid for it and I want a refund. DONT BUY! TOTAL WASTE.

Speed is not even close to being accurate. Speed was from 5-25 miles per hour different then the actual vehicle speed. What a waste of four dollars do not recommend

My motorcycle had a broke speedometer. I used several GPS based speedometers, but this one was far better than the others I tried.

It is accurate and fast. Nice big display and the odometer is accurate.

Good app. Clear and easy to read. Would like a speed range of 0 - 85 tho, to make all numbers larger for normal driving.

We use this on all trips to know precise distance, time, driving time, stopped time. I also like the top speed and average speed through the trip.

I've used the app 4 or 5 times now and haven't had any problems or noticed anything abnormal. I did go into setting and made sure that all my options were as I wanted.

Great app recommended

I purchased a few of these GPS based speedometer apps and this one is by far the best. I have tested it in my car for accuracy and I was impressed. Obviously the speedometer is slightly laggy, but that was to be expected. The map aspect is perfect, the trip log is an awesome feature that works very well and the overall ease of use and aesthetics are very pleasing. Highly recommend.

Says this is not compatible with your iPad. Huh works on my phone fine which is older

On iOS 7 after update crash

I recently had a issue with my speedometer and my Chevy, I use this app until I was able to have it repaired. Highly recommend and it's also very accurate

I love this app. I track all my rides with it and it gives data on how long your trip was, how much time you spent moving, and how much time you spent not moving. It also keeps track of your top speed and average speed. I have a loop I like to do every couple of days because it's a very fast loop and it's fun to try to beat my average speed for the loop. Last but not least - my favorite part is that it shows you on a map where you went while it was tracking. This is very cool to screen shot and text/email to buddies that also ride.

Crashing in iOS 9 Will not stay on!

This app works really well.

It connects to satellite very fast and gives quick realtime speed.

When it doesn't crash (about once a week), it's great.

Unfortunately it crashes within two seconds every time I open it.

Use this in my iPhone 6s Plus and iPad for my cars speedo and map. Works great. More accurate than the map software built in and fast speed updates. Got tired of ads so purchased it. Not bad for 4$

I've had the app for a good while and loved it however now it opens and shuts right back down. It's irritating especially when you need to use it. Any ideas about a fix or the problem?

Over a year later this app STILL crashes on iPhone 6+. If you own one, DO NOT BUY. Unbelievable.

Great app that I like using inflight if there is wifi, get strange looks from fellow passengers, which is worth it! Reviewing can be sometimes a problem, but.....all in all a nice app!

Since iOS new update this app stopped working. Earlier also it crashes a lot but now not working at all. Please fix the problem first then only sell it.

The app was a good one, and did what it is supposed to. With iOS 9 it stopped working for me. Opens, and then dies. Hope that it gets fixed.

Keeps crashing

I was looking for an app just like this for a long time and I finally found this awesome app. it's a little bit sluggish on my 3GS, but it seems to work a bit better On newer devices (obviously). It could use an option open to a preferred page.

Still an awesome app still has some little quirks here and there but it runs quite nicely on my mini and 4s. It Takes a little longer to sync up on the mini

I really like this app, I used it almost everyday.....now that I updated my iPhone it no longer works! Major buzz kill!

Update, I sent an email to the company about the problem. A few days later they sent me a reply on how to fix the problem. So far the app is back up and running with problems.

It's a great app - have been using for a while. A few improvements can be:

- when the app is in background then at times it stops monitoring and an entire trip is lost. Some indication to that should be there. This is critical issue and prevents usage.

- Add some stats like avg driving speed by taking out stoppage time would be good.

- Add a way to create laps/segments - like I can say can indicate a long drive be collection of segments - say citi driving, highway driving .. That way I can monitor stats for each portion.

I really only have two complaints. First is the map is useless to me. Its orientation is locked to north and south. So if your driving west and look at your phone, its going left. How about an option for a forward view?

My second complaint was it kept crashing but so far its been stable since the last update.

1st purchased this 3 yrs ago on a trip from San Diego to Philadelphia. Worked pretty good the first day, then crashed! Couldn't do anything with it! Trashed it and reloaded it a couple times and now it's working fine. Speedometer is accurate enough as we were coming back thru New Mexico my son got his new Camaro to 150mph on a short stretch of interstate and the two speeds matched!

Dislike that on a straight shot it will show time stopped despite always moving.

Dislike that the maps take forever, if ever, to load!

This should work well on my amped up 70 El Camino with a built 454ci. Speedo stopped working sometime last century!

El Camino is now the HELLCAMINO!! Bored and stoked to 502ci about somewhere in the range of 600hp with nutritional supplements of 400 hp and this this is accurate in the total

I have not used this app to its fullest extent yet but I had put it in my rc car and after I figured out how to use the app it worked great. I recommend this app to anyone. It's a little confusing at first but once you figure everything out and get the hang of it, it works great. I love it.

Apparently the developer must have listened to feedback and removed the pestering message to rate the app that would come up at launch time. That’s 100% unacceptable in any app, and why I previously rated it one star. It no longer does this, and now works extremely well. It’s very accurate and the features set is excellent. The only thing it still needs is a Speed Sensitive Volume function so that I can set my iPhone to deliver different volume levels based on my current speed, that would make it perfect.

This does not work! Any other speedometer app, when I turn to on, it pops up, and in a few short seconds, it tells me how fast I'm going. This one wants me to rate it. Then after I cancel out that nonsense, it still stays on 0, for 10 - 20 miles, as long as I leave it on. Turn on the other one, 3 seconds, it's reading the speed! When I'm running 85 mph down the interstate, I don't have time to rate an app, (yes, I live in Texas, we have 85 mph speed limits here) and I don't have time for an app that doesn't function! This one was a waste of money!

Works as advertised, but for it to be perfect (for me) it needs two things.

1. The digital speed readout changes too frequently. I don't care about tenth of a mile per hour, so an option to show only whole numbers of miles per hour would be great.

2.id like to have a view with a large digital readout of the current speed (in whole numbers) similar to the HUD mode, but for regular use (I.e. With the text the correct way round). My primary use case is on a motorcycle, and I want to be able to quickly glance at a large whole number representation of my current speed. This is because speedos on bikes don't tend to that accurate, but GPS is very accurate.

I thought it was just going to keep track of my speed but to my surprise it maps your entire trip to and shows you every turn on the map very accurate

I bought the pay version and just very disappointed. For starters the app does not accurately track quick accelerations and then the top speeds that are not held for long often do not register. I then ran it side by side in my M5 with the BMW lap timer and the accuracy of the speed tracker was nowhere close to the BMW app.

Save your money! I can only gather that those impressed with this app are those who drive around like my grandmother.

Just started using it with my LSV golf cart to check speed and it’s amazingly accurate. I also used it with my car to verify accuracy. My golf cart goes faster than I realized when I’m on the road and this is good to have to watch my speed when I am on the golf cart paths. Simple to use!

It's maybe not everything I wanted, but it IS more than I knew I could have from an app. And you know, we app users can be real pompous pouting punks when it comes to app satisfaction. I'm no developer, but I get the massive challenge it must be to create and maintain one as lovely as Speed Tracker. 5-Stars, ladies & gentlemen. And a virtual Hi-5 to go with it. ✋!

This app will drain your battery. There is no option to track only when connected to a power source, such as, for example, my car. This means that, in order to save my battery, I would have to disable it every time I get out of my vehicle, and manually start it before my trip, if I want to take advantage of its trip logging abilities, which are phenomenal. It would have been easy to add a feature that would track only when this app is connected to the car, but this inability renders the app to my 3 star vote.

Every aspect of this app is very good and well thought. If there was one addition I would make is to set up the travel plan. I would have several points like A to B to C to D with distance and time so that the driver will know how long it takes to arrive to the destination and then the next destination. I use this for every time I travel within the state and outside.

I bought this App because I thought the features sounded decent. I have an i-phone 5 and wanted to put a GPS feature on it. The APP is worthless. First, the HUD feature only works when it is dark; second the speed tracker is so inaccurate - I was doing 60MPH and the speed tracker had me clocked at 114 MPH; lastly, the one feature I wanted, the GPS, I have yet to figure how to get it to work.

Good thing I only spent $3.99 plus tax. Guess it is true, you get what you pay for.

Don't even mess with other GPS apps, this one is the best I've tried. The entire interface is so logical and intuitive I'd swear this was an Apple app. I was easily able to map a route and email the route. You'll love this app, just get it.

Recently downloaded the app while riding a high speed train from NY to Boston. I wanted to know how fast the train was going. It worked really well. The live tracking on real maps on Hybrid view was a real fun bonus. I could see what I was going to see in advance. Worth every penny. BTW the train was going 125 MPH.

The speedometer on my electric car is not working, nothing to connect it to after the conversion. So I started to look for an app that I could use. This is one of many I tried. It has worked great for my needs. The only complaint I have is on initial acceleration it my jump up in its reading of how fast I am going. For example I may be accelerating from 0 to 25 mph but the app reads 50 mph for a brief few seconds. This only happens some times during normal use other than those instances, it works perfect.

Been using this app for a few months now. I use it on my RC cars to get an estimated mph on them. The app is as accurate as it comes. I like the graph that it provides and the fact that I can save the session/trip. I also like the interface. I definitely recommend it.

I love this app. Speedo is Awesomely easy to read love the layout. The options of top speed is very nice. The map is a quick way to find yourself. No pun intended. The option for google map or apple is nice. Apple seems to have a much better quality and lets you get a very HQ close view of where you are very important the speedo is right on accurate with fast update. It goes right up and down with your speed. I have other speedos but not anymore this is the only one ill use now. And i've switched from google to apple map. Oh it also has a great tracker for trip. Average everything built in. It will also give you ADDRESSES where you are instead of just Alt and long.

Really is awesome. And the odometer is accurate to. Checked it mile to mile marker on the highway. Thank you and you're welcomer. LOL.

I am definitely one of those self quantification guys. I like to keep track of my miles per gallon in the car and on the bike, my average resting heart rate,my average time asleep, all of that. For me, this is a great application for tracking my commute to work and back. Provides a ton of stats and even though I really don't use the speedometer function (main selling point) it's handy if you want to compare your vehicles rate of speed with the GPS in your phone.

Only downside I can think of is its a little on the pricy side for an iPhone app. .99 or even 1.99 would make this a sweet deal for most folks.

Well i really like the layout. It is fun to use. How ever i am puzzled when it comes to the graph. I know one axes shows speed, what is the other. It has to be distance, but what kind of distance, feet miles inches what ?

Tracking went great this last 3 hour run. The run before this it quit 3/4 the way down. Don't know why. I did place a call while it was suppose to run in the back ground. It stopped tracking.

On to other things.

The heads up displayed is really cool and works well. I would like to suggest making some of the other screens heads up also. The data window for one. The map would be good if had a night screen and put put on heads up.

The speedometer worked real well. I like the range markers. The speed and the odometer together the heads up

I am going to keep playing it. It is at three stars at this point. It will be a five plus once they update with changes.

App shuts itself off randomly. Has some great features, but they don't work. Have on both iPad and iPhone, neither will stay running in the background. Wanted to keep record of areas traveled by motorcycle. Kept power hooked up, would run for ten mins the shut down. Next time run four mins, shut down. Once ran for 22 mins before shutting down. Got good data from that run, but shut down before trip was over, incomplete. Turned off auto-lock, made no difference. Any tips, suggestions, what else to do? Great idea, FAIL in execution of idea.

This is a decent app when it works. I'm using version 5.0.6 which crashes on occasion. I've cleared other programs and restarted the iPad to no avail. This afternoon I was using to measure a 20 miles trip and it crashed again. I like the usability of the programming but wouldn't recommend it if you are relying on it to collect data on trips.

The speedometer works fine and the HUD. It's so close to being a really good app. However, once I change to Landscape mode it won't change back to portrait mode. Also, the link to the tutorial video does not work (I've tried several times on my iPad). It has crashed a couple of times also. And the car icon on the map only points up when in landscape mode. Before you start charging for this app please make sure that these items are at least taken care of or the negative feedback will increase.

The Title says it all. A must for anyone on the road long-distance or local. If you need to record trips, this has all the tools. Extremely accurate and easy to export data. Probably best run with extended battery or plugged in; as it appears to drain battery when running in background. I am still testing it and will follow up my review in the near future. Other reviews have point to some weaknesses, I will review them and report back on them. This App warrants a try.

Recently got burned by an app..."where have i been?"... the app is supposed to track you...anyhow bought this app with some loss of faith in the app system and this one is stellar!! Averages ans graphs tour speed, you can watch tourself on a map and i leanred things about my area! Great app!

The app in general works as advertised however, I ran a test by driving to work. I am certain that my work is 26 miles from my house. The app added approximately 1.5 miles to what my vehicles odometer states.

I thought it may be a fluke but the app did the same thing on the return trip.

We have two vehicles so I know the distance is correct (give or take 1 to 2 tenths of a mile).

I understand that using GPS is going to be approximate but 1.5 miles difference is big.

Other than the mileage difference, the app works great. Nice layout and the display is awesome.

We are going on a 800 trip from Denver to Utah this weekend so I will definitely give it a thorough test.

This is a 5-star app! 2 suggestions that would be useful to me... 1) a small digital clock somewhere in the dead space (maybe under the odometer), and 2) the ability to keep the odometer data countinusly until it is manually reset. But again... a 5-star app! Thank you!

Love the ability to switch the scale! I use this in the car and for bike trips, better functionality than any others I've tried. Much more user friendly while maintaining a lot of data tracking!

This app is exactly what I need. I want to start it at the beginning of the day and stop it at the end and be able to see my total start and stop times. ONE BIG PROBLEM: when I'm stopped, it doesn't recognize that I'm stopped. Without this working correctly, it's useless and a waste of money for me. I have iPhone 5 with 6.1 so it's not my hardware/software. 2 stars for a good idea. I'll give you 3 more when you fix it.

App icon has a notification badge that I can't figure out, 1- why its there, 2- how to get rid of it. (No Notifications option under Settings.)

Doesn't seem to want to keep tracking in the background. If this app had a trip tracker function similar to RunKeeper, it would get 5 stars.

Maybe in the future add support for OBD devices like the PLX Kiwi?

After a month of use I'm changing my review and dropping a star. Lack of iPhone 5 optimization (runs in letterbox) and buggy vehicle icon are the reason for my downgrade. The vehicle icon should be changeable to a dot or arrow. The little blue car looks kind of goofy. I also have issues where the car will always point North instead of turning on roads. It requires you to exit the program and relaunch or reboot to clear it.

Another feature that would be useful would be to remember the zoom level and last location on the map. If you leave the map screen for any reason, it zooms all the way out and you have to zoom and recenter it manually. Not too easy at 65 mph, in traffic.

The speed indicator could also be a bit larger... Very small font hard to see in map mode.

All in all a good app but I'll probably look for another that has more of the features I want and performance that it should have.

Would like to see a choice of map-tracking icons in addition to the blue car. Perhaps a person or a bicycle for the slow scale speedo, etc. I tried the HUD last night in the car (phone version) which is nifty; no need to take eyes away from the car's windscreen. An option to turn the screen off while tracking would save battery life. Great start, AppAnnex.

Wow! Just when you thought it couldn't get any better an App like this comes alongs and blows everything out of the water! Simply amazing! I love useful Apps that have a real purpose. This app is so easy to use! I love the "Heads Up Display". What a trip! I take different short cuts during rush hour to beat traffic. It's a great way to compare distance/time travelled between routes. This is an ingenious App that is sure to get a lot of attention. it's worth way more than the offered price.

I bought this to log my bike trips, I bike around the perimeter of my hometown lakes and do some side paths on the way. I wanted to know my speed and distance travelled. However, when I went off the main road, it stopped tracking. So my trip record shows a 7 min stop in the middle of my ride, dropping my average mph way down as well. I could do the math if I knew how long the paths were or an accurate average mph, but I don't have an accurate tally of either.

Excellent UI would benefit from a way to set the dial for an upper speed limit, say 3-4 MPH over the posted speed and have it pleasantly beep and/or flash when you exceed it. You could manually enter geolocated speed limits for routes you travel often, and then be tipped off when you enter radar trap territory.

Car makers are in the pocket of revenue-augmenting-local-govt. Don't hold your breath for them to offer a ticket-dodging feature.

Would turn radar detectors into Palm Pilots!

The app is highly functional for trip tracking, time, mileage, etc. However the actual speed monitoring/tracking appears to be inaccurate. I suppose it could be related to losing data coverage or inconsistent data ping cycles, but what I see on my motorcycle display and iPhone display are often wildly divergent.

All the features of this app are really great and pretty much record all the data you would need for road trips, etc. I also love the interface, design, and functionality of everything especially the map feature which allows you to see your change in speed through your trip. That said, the actual speed measurement is incredibly unreliable. With cruise control set below 80 the app was reading anywhere from 65mph to over 95, also telling me that I had reached a max speed of over 130mph during my trip. Other free gps apps have much more accurate speed measurements. Bottom line: if it was free I would recommend it but I don't think it's worth buying.

App never even opened. White collar criminals should be publicly cained. These other reviews clearly come from this chumps accomplices. All should be escorted off the edge of the planet, given one glow stick and a pack of tic tac's and told to head towards planet FU. Peace on earth can then return to it's green/gray alien uninhabited state of happiness. Just saying...if you chimpanzee's see me in the street...head in the other direction, otherwise hopefully you packed a lunch...cause it's gonna be a long day for you!

This app was great on the iPhone 4, but since upgrading to the 4S, it's useless. Speed jumps all over the place, as does the direction. Other GPS apps work just fine with the 4S, so it's an issue with this app. Spend your money elsewhere or wait for a fix.

Update: 2.0.2 fixes none of the issues I noted with 2.0. Speed still jumps all over the place, even with full GPS signal. Direction rotates around like a spinning top, despite the Apple compass app showing a stable, steady direction. I'm going back to an app that works.

Love this app so far. One improvement I'd love to see is an ability to view ALL my past trips on a single map rather than having to go through them one by one. It would be really neat to see everywhere I've driven in the past year. Even if I had to upload the data to a computer or website it would be worth it. Add this functionality for 5 stars.

I'm amazed at how accurately this app tracks location, it's great for distance traveled and avg. speed. Yeah, as a real time "speedometer" it skips around a bit, but come on, it's tracking you from a frickin' satellite in orbit! What do you expect from a 99 cent app? Great for biking, hiking, etc.

It did a great job tracking the movements of my boat for an afternoon. I could see every turn I made during the ride. Good data on speed and distance. Wish there was a sensitivity adjustment. Some of our time anchored counted as "moving time" because the boat isn't completely still.

When using this application in my car, on my boat, and even on my lawnmower, it provides extremely erratic speeds. In my car at 80 mph indicated, the application shows speeds bouncing all over the place, with reading as low as 10-15 mph bouncing as high as 100+ mph. THis is all with a very good cphone connection - an urban interstate highway. On my boat at a steady 6 mph (by Garmin GPS chart-plotter), the application bounced between 1 and 64 mph. The numeical display is never steady enough to really read, and the needle display just jumps all over. there is no way to tell how fast you are really going with this application. This was not a well-spent 99 cents. If I an doing something wrong, please someone tell me.

The underlying idea is commendable but the product is still work in progress. Specifically, the tracking is usually delayed and remains at 0 mph for a few seconds even as the vehicle accelerates. Another major shortcoming is the exaggerated maximum speed. I was shocked to read a maximum speed of 93 mph when I never exceeded the posted speed limit of 55 mph. Overall, I give the effort 3 stars. If the aforementioned problems are corrected and the standard deviation speed and number of data (n) are added to the statistics, then the device can deservingly earn a 4.5 stars or 5.0 stars!
