Amazing experience

I've been using this app for years now and it continues to innovate and improve. The functionality is incredible in the way you navigate through the various modules of the app. There's definitely room for some improvements here and there but it seems that the development team is listening. I'm constantly looking forward to the new releases each summer.

Horrible App

Navigation is awkward. Viewing pages is odd as much of the content is below the bottom of the screen, but don't move up. Users are far better to launch Salesforce.com from any browser. While the mobile version looks similar you can access the desk top as well.

Very useful tool to stay on top of my business/leads on the go. Security feature logs you out too often if idle and you must re-type in your user ID and password each time. Please adopt Touch ID and it would be that much easier.

Wow, the newest release is fast. Really helps on productivity.

Really, This app is soooo bad

SF 1 is one of the worst apps around. It's slow to respond to clicks. Half the time a click results in a hung app. Editing an opportunity is like, go out to lunch and maybe it will respond when you get back. What a disgrace to a major SaaS provider. I've given up on using SF1 and can only use the full Web version to get anything done somewhat efficiently. Even the full
SF version UI is long in the tooth but at least it works.

Documentation Staple

I really enjoy being able to log my IT&S Projects in GL. The only thing I don't like about is is the less than user-friendly reports menu for tracking completed tasks and lack of sticky keys when it comes to selecting facilities. I wish I could create a custom report that tracked all of my entries and could also set my settings for new projects based on location and defaulting to the current date so I could breeze through my documentation.
WCHDR
Version 12.3
2017-05-06

Doesn't match custom fields

So after you spend a lot of time creating the perfect CRM tool with custom fields, but then when you want to go mobile with the app it reverts to the basic data entry and fails to allow any custom fields. The error blocks you from creating opportunities or accounts absent those custom fields you set as required. What's the point of allowing customization with rules if your mobile app does not allow it.
Needs more QA, needs more Development. Waiting on Support to see if they even have a real clue. They probably blew all their working capital on the CEO private plane collection.

Inconvenience

Your app is embarrassingly slow and an inconvenience. A mobile app for sales people on the go should not be as frustrating as this one is. When I open the app it says I have to click something to go to a new location ever since there was an update. Now there is a more recent update and after I click to go to the new location it brings me to a new page that says "you can't view this page, either because you don't have permission or because the page isn't supported by mobile devices" how on earth would you let a mobile app display that message without fixing it?!?! Also... 40% of the time I use the app for some reason the navigation buttons at the top such as the back arrow and the hamburger decide to not show up so I have to restart the app. PLEASE FIX THIS APP IT'S 2017 THIS SHOULD NOT BE HAPPENING!!! I wish I could attach screen shots of the frustrating screens that show up while using this app.

Mostly good, notifications need work

My biggest frustration with the app right now is the lack of (chatter) notification updating -- if I have read and responded to a chatter post in the browser, I shouldn't also have to go to the app and read the post there to clear the notification dot. Though this is also an issue in lightning, so I have cases where I literally read the same "new" notification 3 times -- in classic, in lightning, and in app. As an admin who does a lot of user support, that's a lot of extra tapping and checking to make sure it's not something new.

Great App...Could be Amazing

I love the app and that the filters you create in Salesforce are also available on the phone. The only suggestion for improvement is to make it a lighter app so that it runs faster. There is a significant lag every time you click and I have a new iPhone with plenty of space. It would also be neat if in Salesforce on the desktop I could create a list for calls. Then when I open the mobile app that list is there with phone numbers in a point of contact for quick dial and logging of notes. Right now there are just too many clicks to get to the contact number and dial.

Great app for any salesperson

This a good compliment to the Salesforce web tool. It gives quick access to all the account info in the database and allows for simple posts and updates, but it does not work well for doing anything too involved such as writing visit reports and entering other more involved forms. I do like the ability to quickly import contacts, but they don't transfer completely and I still have to go into the web tool and complete the contact. In general I find this tool very useful for my business.

Just keeps getting more awesome with each update!

Helps me get my work done lightning fast! I’ve noticed a few issues, but I used the feedback option in the app to notify them instead of leaving a bad review (hoping that I’ll get more flies with honey than vinegar). Since Salesforce seems to respond to the issues I’ve reported in the past and worked on fixing them and making the app better. Thx Salesforce! Keep blazing those trails!

They try to force it down your throat.

This app is nice in a lot of ways, but it doesn't cover everything that I have access to or need in Salesforce. My biggest complaint is that I can try to access Salesforce through my mobile browser and it tries to force you into the app. I have the same complaint when trying to use a mobile browser...they try to force you to use the mobile site (which is like the app). As someone who needs the full site on my mobile and rarely finds benefit from this partial attempt at an app, this is not the best choice for me.

Very useful and easy to use!

I use this app on a regular basis to look up information and enter quick notes using voice recognition. Makes life easier on the road and in the office. I actually also use the desktop version of Salesforce as well but quickly grab my phone if I already have multiple windows open and just need to pull up some quick information. Super easy to use interface that can be accessed anywhere so you're not tied to a computer. Would recommend!

A little cumbersome, but light years ahead of where we were

I use the salesforce platform via a product called Patron Manager, for performing arts organizations. As a chief executive and fundraiser, the convenience I get of being able to have immediate access to my database from my phone is light years ahead of where I rose in my previous Organization with my previous database. Being able to dictate call reports directly into the database immediately after meeting with a donor or prospect is revolutionary. The app does seem a little bit cumbersome sometimes, but I'm pretty sure that it will evolve.

Plenty of work related and valuable information on here. Keeps everyone at a level playing field. Ex. Great app to gain knowledge of best practices used at other stores and cool place to post about your accomplishments. Overall, intuitive to use.

Great company/ poor mobile performance

Salesforce is a great company, but i don't understand why their app has such poor performance. Out of all the apps i use, salesforce is the only one that constantly crashes. It takes a long time to perform simple tasks such as open an account. I have to constantly close the application and open again.
I own a business and I have an iphone 6 plus. My teams have iphone 6s. And this problem exists in all our devices. I assume that the capabilities of the device is not the issue. And the ios software is up to date.
Salesforce is making a big push for mobile, i don't understand why their app has such poor performance.

Needs tweaking

The app is ok, but there are so many advanced views when some basic functionality could be improved. 2 big suggestions for improvement here. First, when viewing an event, the address needs to be active, so that a simple click on the address opens google or the resident phone mapping program. Second, it is very cumbersome to reassign lead ownership in the mobile app. Dashboard views are nice to have, but for the most part, they are for management to view, we really only use them during one on ones, this is an example of more functionality than we need in the mobile app. Dashboard views are really too big to view on a phone. I literally only use dashboards from the desktop SFDC program.

Super useful on the go

I use this everyday and sometimes even prefer the mobile app to desktop bc it's a streamlined interface that keeps me focused on the actual task at hand. User friendly. Mostly great... But one issue

This program works really well with a great, intuitive interface.... When it works. I use this program daily and throughout the day for work. For the most part it is seamless but once in a while it becomes overwhelmed and either crashes or does not allow you to push a button/go into your contacts. This can be really frustrating as I use this program on the go. Otherwise, this is a great app.

Amazing Sales Tool !

Get way to share displays from all walks of life! Everyone can encourage each other through one photo. Only one suggestion , instead of one photo at time place 4 or six on each slide. After sliding through 10-15 slides the screen sometimes refreshes back to the latest post and you have to start over. This way we can search through the latest post and not have to guess what #word we were last looking at

App makes life easier!

App is smooth and fast! Thank you!
I would like to see the ability to add multiple names in an event at the bottom. Currently the mobile app only allows for one. Must enter others on the desktop app.
Another feature which would be great is if you could add files from the Dropbox app. Currently when posting you can only attach photos from your photo album or camera, etc. Typically I upload documents rather than photos so being able to upload from Dropbox would be awesome!

Love Salesforce for teams - needs team participation though :)

I think the Salesforce app is perfect for companies small and large. Instant (and documented) communication with team, uploading files, documentation and more.
Only thing (as with any sales app) is you need to ensure team participation for your money to be used well. It took a good year for our company to get fully on board. And even then you have some who use it better than others. Overall, great for keeping communications in one stream along with project documentation. Make sure you also download Task Ray for projects though for complete usefulness.
Final thought is leveling up is pricey but best features always seem to be in next level higher of service. Jump is a good $40 to $75 per user per month to upgrade so I'd recommend using and upgrading by the year rather than initial launch at higher level to ensure best use of product.

Absolutely Pathetic

I'm not gonna go through all the recent application is so absolutely pathetic in relation to the Desktop application. I will however say that the inability to do some major things I can do in the old salesforce classic app that I can't do in this "new and improved" makes it very disturbing that they would roll this out to the masses and make us use it. It seems the default mode is to allow me to use the classic app for while and even though I haven't downloaded this new and improved crappy out when I hit certain search functions it opens up the salesforce one application when I don't want to open up and it's incredibly frustrating

Great tool

This is an extremely powerful tool, with that said there comes frustration and excitement for what it can and cannot do. It is a useful as you make it, and there in lies the key. Garbage in garbage out is all true here. We are in sales and are always on the move hurt here hurry there this tool actually slows you down. But it makes you more productive allow the tool to work for you sort out the junk unqualified and call on and follow up on those that are. This is the process that takes time to do,learn, and master. Being diligent with your notes and tasks allows for quick clean follow up. This also make sure you are calling on the highest quality candidates as well.

Sales force

I have been using it for about a week and a half. I think it has some really great tools to help you be successful on tracking your customers. I think as a manger there is so much data that you can get overwhelmed and forget the true focus of a salesman is to sale. I also wish they would improve the contact portion when you get account name and address from account it would automatically add that as a new account if it didn't exist already. Also they need to have a scan so that when you get a business card it directly scans and downloads to your account instead of doing it on cam card then having to transfer it over. Other than those few things I'm pleased.

Good, and steadily improving

Excellent app for working with SFDC, particularly for general account / opportunity edits and contact lookups. Needs two things to earn the last two stars, in my mind:
1. Ability to edit "Activity History" (e.g. Log a Call) from within the app. If I use the app to find a contact's name and number, then call them, I want to log my notes immediately using the Activity History section.
2. Ability to search for specific reports. I can look for dashboards, but I can only access a report if it's part of a dashboard and I drill from said dashboard. Open up the flexibility, please!

Versatile and unique

So many things to be said. Super practical to get your things done on the go, specially those critical ones. You can access lots of things at your finger tips. Some pages need to be set up for Salesforce1 if they are not, so you don't have to pinch and enlarge. A computer will always be more helpful and have a lot more features... But it's about being smart and understanding what to do in the app, the laptop or the iPad...

Run my business from my phone

Chatter access everywhere is awesome. I learn so much just browsing my feed and quickly bookmark things I want to save with a double tap.
Several apps my company has deployed have made getting work done from anywhere so easy. Once I was literally just about to take off for a business trip to Mexico and opened and IT ticket from the runway requesting that international calling and data be added to my mobile plan. By the time I landed in Mexico it was done. That never would have happened if I had to whip out my laptop, connect, etc etc etc.

App crashes

This app is horrible. I've only had it a week and I absolutely loathe using it. For completing prescheduled calls that were previously made through the Salesforce website, it should be a breeze. Unfortunately however is crashes so often you can't seem to get through one day's worth of calls. To make matters worse, entering an unscheduled call and actually locating the contact thru this app is a nightmare at best. I can get thru about one day's worth of calls and suddenly it tells me it's experienced a problem or I'm not connected to the Internet. Everything else on the Internet and my phone seems to work just fine. I end up having to completely shut down my phone and start over about 4xs before I can finish out the week and get the app to recognize my connection and allow me to enter calls. My frustration here is completely understated.

In marketing, there is no 8 to 5. I am on the job at all times. Salesforce1 lets me manage this experience from anywhere, anytime ... and I love it. Allowing my business to integrate seamlessly into the rest of my life provides for a more "real" approach to staying in touch with my team and understanding the needs of my customers and prospects. It's truly wonderful and I can't wait to see how Salesforce continues to grow.

Good, but functionality is missing

The task management functionality is clunky and not convenient. One should be able to add a task at any level - in the Account, in the Contact, in the Opportunity - and have all of the relative information populate. Task management should be front and center with a CRM and it should sing.
Also, the Tags functionality on the Web app is a beautiful thing and would be incredibly helpful when in the field - but is missing.
This app is helpful for me to jot a quick note, or look something up, but I cannot generate a quote, drill into my accounts with Tags, nor manage my tasks with ease.

Underachiever

This app is useful but has a lot of work to be done. It is still extremely slow at startup despite an update to fix that issue. It's difficult to navigate and crashes often. Without experience in the matter, it is difficult to search accounts and/or leads.
I would like to see a major boost in speed on this app. When I'm on the road looking for a contact name, phone number, address, etc. from an account or lead, I don't have the time or patience to wait for this app to load. I hope to see an overhaul from Salesforce. Something that makes the app more user friendly and much, much faster.

Great for end users, not so hot for Developers.

From an end user perspective — i.e.: Sales person, middle management or C-suite executives this app really shines at exposing salesforce data in a meaningful and insightful way. It’s quick, stable (i.e.: doesn’t crash when the wifi gets gone) and I believe encourages collaborations with it’s deep tie-in to chatter.
That said, as a developer working to build apps inside salesforce1, or to extend salesforce1, it’s nearly an unmitigated nightmare. Perhaps most frustrating is the lack of a true webkit backed window which means extending the app via cordova for Camera, GPS or other hardware access is, so far as I’m aware, impossible. From a development standpoint, (and I’d argue half the reason this app exists is to enable developers to extend it) it’s frustrating enough that I still suggest developers create their own apps.

An actual review

I don't understand what people are complaining about. This application runs smoothly with very few hangs while scrolling (if you're scrolling fast through 100s of contacts). That being said it's not even necessary to scroll as there is a convenient search function. I run it on an iPhone 6, with the latest firmware.
As for on the go needs this has everything you'd need, while on the go. New appointments/tasks check, new lead/opportunity check, quickly read up on your notes check. This is not a replacement for the site itself, it is a subset tool to quickly add information on the go.
The application is intuitive and friendly. A great addition for any on the go needs. I almost guarantee those who rated this low were thinking it could replace the need to visit the site on your computer.

I believe all the 5 star ratings are fake

I'm the optimist. I want this app to work. It's fine to check names and addresses, but an app is geared to a mobile outside/field sales force...and this app is just awful. Slow is just the start. I'd like to schedule an appointment - Nope. Can't do that. I'd like to see where my prospective customer is located, and what other clients are in the immediate area to provide references. Nope. Need to have an add-in to do that. Now I see why so many developers leave Salesforce to create their own tools. Here's a novel idea - design it from the phone/perspective first - then make a desktop app for it, since desktops will soon be the modern-day 8-track.

I so want this to work for me

Each version promises to be better than the last, but they keep getting worse. I can't help but wonder if Salesforce has gotten so spread out they can't tell where their heads or tails are. You'd think with so many Sales Teams working out of pocket these days SF would make an App that simply works.
For me, the main issue is it constantly locks up on the splash screen. Then, I find, that the important details I need to access are only available on the desktop version. Which before wasn't the worst thing in the because they USE TO make it easy to switch to the Full Version. Now though, they hide that link and sometimes I can't even find it, depending on how I enter the site.
Worse still is the App has hijacked my email so every time I get a new Opp in my email and I click the link, if forces you to this App, which again has the above issues.
Maybe SF needs to have a more dedicated team to the mobile platform. Until then, I have to uninstall it so I can get to the Full Version (desktop) from my iPad without being redirected.

Actually worse than Salesforce Classic

As someone who designs and builds Salesforce systems for organisations around the world and uses Salesforce to run a company, I'm continually disappointed by SF1. First and foremost, it needs to work offline with full read/write capabilities. My clients, my company and I don't need Chatter offline - we need to be able to view and edit records offline: all the time. I still use and recommend Salesforce Classic frequently because it actually extends and enhances e Salesforce experience. I don't care that it looks 8 years old - Classic is fast, reliable, and powerful. Salesforce1 is only useful for people with unlimited and perpetual 4G access and even then (and even on wifi!) it freezes. Here's hoping the SF1 development team keeps working to improve the application's function over fashion.

Good-not-Great

I'm an admissions counselor and as a result contact students constantly throughout the day. My school uses Salesforce as our data program and thus after finding this app I was ecstatic because now I wouldn't need a computer to logged everything and get info on the road. But (there's always a 'but') this app is far from perfect -
Pros:
-Allows access to Data on the road
-Not too steep of a learning curve
-Clean Design
-Has the majority of options you need to manage your data
-Gets Saleforce in your pocket when you don't have your computer!
Cons:
-Crashes....and Crashes....and Crashes, it constantly crashes and has to reboot
-It can be quite slow with loading
-A little glitchy as far as syncing between Phone/Tablet and Computer
That's my overall impressions. I use Salesforce1 daily and if you are a Salesforce user then I recommend this app because the pros outweigh the cons (at least for me). However, the cons can be very frustrating so beware.

Does anyone test this thing out in the field?

Salesforce had a pretty good mobile app. For some reason they've taken away features and now it hangs all the time. Twice last week I watched it spin when trying to retrieve a contact phone number while sitting at the gate of customer's campus with cars building up behind me. I had to go to the web version to get the number. I was pretty delighted. As far as features... logging calls used to be fire. You made your calls during prime time business hours and then logged the calls later. They were all listed there waiting for you. Now you make a call and the app switches to log-a-call mode whether you want to at that moment or not. Completely squashes my calling rhythm and takes forever. God forbid you get an incoming call in the process. Salesforce needs to have users test their app while they're on the road (duh) and maybe even include some salespeople. In the meantime, I'll keep the web version open.

Great until last update

I really loved this app until the most recent update. I hate it when companies release "updates" and then remove functionality. Gone is the ability to click the plus icon and add a note, or log a call from the opportunity screen. If you're on the road, and don't want to drag out your laptop, the only way to log to call is to go to the contact, click the call button, and then select "log without calling". I would've never discovered this, but after several weeks of searching various chat sites, found that somebody had made the suggestion. Still haven't figured out how to add a note to an opportunity. What a shame.

Please change log a call option

Ever since the recent updates it is impossible to log a call within an account. I understand the convenience of logging a call from the Today section but why take out the option to log a call within an account? This app was absolutely perfect before all the updates. Now it crashes several times a day and logging a call is so much more difficult. Please change! Thanks!

Most embarrassing app from a major company I have ever seen

I use salesforce website all week on my iPad (safari). It's not mobile enabled (ridiculous). I travel as a salesman. An example of it's awfulness, can't click on an address to auto-link to Apple maps or Google. I have to close safari, open map app. manually re type it? I reached out to someone who works there and they suggested this app. It has almost no functionality and what it barely does do is list my contacts. It can't even show my salesforce calendar. The main feature I use it for! Crazy. I wish I could list it as negative five stars.

What's the Point

I resorted to just putting a shortcut to the full site on my iPad. It is frustrating that a company with such a huge following and hundreds if not thousands of connected apps cannot make a decent app for their own product.....this app has a nice look, but it really doesn't get me what I need. I cannot sort any list, leads, opportunities, accounts etc. Also, where are my custom views. Why would I want to have to scroll through my whole list of leads. I am mobile all of the time so I need to be able to sort by city or state in my leads and it would be great to see them on a map. I like the day view but you can only look at today. Why not be able access tomorrow or other days in history. Basically this app is good if you want to search a specific lead and maybe enter a note. Come on SF...we pay good money for your software, please give us a powerful app for the ipad, not just a pretty one....

Application stuck after authentication

I have added sales cloud and service cloud login URL on the Salesforce1 mobile application. While login to service cloud the login screen came up and after entering credentials the screen didn't showed up anything other than the Salesforce1 banner on whole screen. Now I'm not able to switch back to other login url also. It won't let me switch it. Closed the application and tried opening it back, still I see only the Salesforce1 banner. There should be atleast a message and way to switch the different login. It's not fail safe. I will have to uninstall now!!!

Best Salesforce a App Yet But Not Quite There Yet

Salesforce has been doing a great job over the last few months of upgrading their mobile ecosystem. This is by far the most useful and streamlined mobile version of Salesforce yet. The app can be customized by a System Admin from within Salesforce to provide users with a unique and useful experience; only showing what is important in the go.
What most people don't realize is that while there are missing features, Salesforce is working hard to create something that everyone can use and finds useful. They stripped down their app in order to build completely new from the ground up. While many people get frustrated with this approach, it is the right one. With every update this app continues to get better.

What is going on?

I wanted to have SFDC on my iPad. I've downloaded this app but could not login into my account. I tried changing the password, like if I had forgotten it, and was able to access it. The look and feel was like the SF I have on my desktop. I was happy. Then I logged out of my account and can't go back to it!
The login function keeps asking for my user and password! I've entered the same one I use without any problems on my desktop but it refuses to accept!
Is there a problem with the login function?
What is going on?
The app would be great if I could use it!

Much better than Touch, but still falls a bit short

Hi guys (salesforce guys),
don't get me wrong, Salesforce1 is lightyears ahead of Salesforce Touch and Chatter mobile. Good on you all; step in the right direction.
However, until ALL objects are accessible in the OUT-OF-THE-BOX version of Salesforce1, it's unfortunately not usable. I know, I know, the easy counter to that is "but you can just as easily make a mobile Visualforce page to represent whatever it is you need while mobile," to which I'd counter that
1) not everyone has the resources to do this (I'm an Admin, who's had to spend much of my time the last few weeks developing solutions for shortfalls that should be standard features, at the expense of my admin duties)
2) regardless, if you're going to advertise SF1 as "bring[ing] all your... ...CRM... together" in an implied mobile environment, there should be absolutely no excuse for leaving any standard object (even line-item objects, like Campaign Members) out in the dark of "The page you are trying to access is not supported on mobile devices." Unacceptable.
Please fix this as soon as possible. There shouldn't be any "sorry that's desktop only" caveat to using Salesforce1. Otherwise, it looks / works really well, please continue to improve.

More Push, More Customization - Please!

I just don't get what SFDC doesn't get about mobile. I don't want my apps to always open on Chatter, I want to be able to customize which object opens on launch. For some that may be Tasks, for others it could be Opportunities, and for others Chatter may be just right.
For years I've been looking for an app to give me push notifications for tasks so that when I'm not at my computer, I can still get notifications for things that need to be done NOW. How difficult can it be to implement this simple, yet critically important feature? Oh wait, Rocket Sales has it.
Come on, SalesForce, it's time to really commit to mobile development. You've been promising it for years at Dream Force, and while this is the closest you've come, close just doesn't cut it.

Developer

Best release yet! So many improvements. The UI/ UX is awesome, the access to complete records, custom buttons, full editing and integration with all calendars is what this app was lacking before and now has it. I would only ask that you add the ability to order list views like you can within the online version. When you have a few hundred records and bring up a list view it is not very useful so you end up having to search for the record. List views are very helpful especially when you are using record types and need to drill down your lists.
The only other thing that I can see so far that would be outstanding is to make Today so you can see a day, week, month view and edit details. I am sure you are moving towards this :) outstanding job, kudos to the SalesForce team, keep up the awesome work! 5 stars all the way.

Great app!

Perf has gotten a lot better since earlier versions. Following chatter discussions works very well. In particular, being to open a PDF from a thread is very smooth. Only things I want to see improved are:
1. Support iOS Dynamic Type feature so that I can scale the font size to suit my preferences.
2. By the character counter on the new post dialog, it looks like the app still has a 1000 character limit which we know has gone up on the server. Update that please.

Great collaborative app. One thing missing

The free version of Chatter has certainly helped out our office for internal communication. There's already a small reduction in email. The app provides all the basic access and works fantastic. It's missing fully implemented internal Chatter messaging, though. Initiating a chat through this or the iPad app brings up the built-in Messages app - which to me seems counter-intuitive. I want to chat with people only on my internal chatter network, not send a text or email. If the Chat functionality was fleshed out a bit more, even if it had its own app a la Facebook, I'd give this thing 5 stars.
Overall though, great service with some serious productivity advantages if one's team is bought into this idea.

Clunky interface and strange passcode requirement

It work fine and does most of what you want it to, but it's not designed well.
The user interface is awkward making you go through 3 or so screens just to view posts in a group. It also makes no sense that the reply button is in the upper right rather than inline with the post you want to reply to (next to the like button).
It requires you to set a passcode that you have to enter every time you use the app, which is complete overkill since this is just for the Chatter part of Salesforce. This app contains far less sensitive information than many other apps on my phone that do not have passcodes. That is why I have a passcode on the phone itself.
