Best Gift App Ever
I’ve been using this app since 2011. It’s the best! Let’s you take pictures so you don’t duplicate gifts. You can add notes, pictures and names of people you buy for. And at the end of each year you it adds the next year. I’ve seen other apps and have tried a few when I thought this app was going away but I come back to this. The format can be a little wonky and not user friendly but once you get the hang of it you’ll never use another gift app. #awesome

Love this app!
I really love this app! It is so helpful in remembering important birthdays, anniversaries and other special events. It even allows me to put in complete dates so that I can know the age of that special individual in case I lack that knowledge. I love that I can also write in ideas that person may have mentioned. It also lets me set reminders ahead of time for each special person so that there is no way to not remember. I couldn’t be happier with this app.

Love it! (Except 2 details)
1. I can’t find how to delete an item that has been purchased.
2. I REALLY wish there was a budgeting tool built into this. So you can create a budget per person, per occasion, and then it could show a balance as you purchase.

Deleted all dates with update
I love this app and have used it for 2-3 years. I just updated the app this morning though and all of my information was deleted. It’s like I’m starting over. What happened?!?

This is my favorite app for tracking gifts, and I was so excited to see you made recent updates.
Please add the ability to use across multiple devices. This would make it a 5 star rating hands down!!

Needs an alarm function
This app has all of the features that I would want and expect in a gift tracking app except for that it doesn't remind you of upcoming dates. In my book, this app would have five stars if it were able to remind you at variable intervals, with a minimum of two alarms per occasion. For example, my sister lives in Australia. So I need an alarm 21 days ahead of time to remind me to purchase her gift, and 14 days ahead of time to remind me to send it. Without alarms, this app fades into the background of all my other iPhone apps, rendering it useless.

WELL... :/
Used to love this app, used it all the time then deleted it to save some space on my phone. just downloaded te newest version and everytime I try to connect to facebook it says it failed, and to please log in and try again.. but it gives you NO PLACE to log in AT.... really? I used this basic function before, but not it's not working and I am SO not inputting everyones birthdates by hand. No way. New Gift Plan App FAIL!

Looks like this project is lost. Like the app but it's missing a lot. Sad that this app seems dead. Going to delete it and look elsewhere.

Love it
Have used for three years with no issues. It could be a little more intuitive, and be more friendly to hand made gifts, but in general it does everything I need it to. I have not forgotten a gift yet!!

I've used this app for a year and had no problems. Today though when I went to add to the list for my son, everything was gone! Not very useful if you have to recreate your lists.

Love it but has a question
I absolutely love this app. It's exactly what I want in a gift managing app. But I just have one task that I cannot figure out how to do. I have added items directly into the bought section and found that I need to delete an item I returned. But I cannot find anywhere to delete the item. Would love to know how to do this. Suggestions or directions would be appreciated.

Won't sync between devices!
I've had and used this app on my iPhone & just installed it on my iPad... but they don't sync! I don't want to have to maintain & duplicate info on two different devices. Please fix sync!

Used to be perfect...
I've had this app for ages, and it used to be perfect, but I've recently noticed that I can no longer delete items. Sometimes things change, being unable to delete things is problematic. I also wish you could move items between people. This had never been a feature, but being able to change the recipient of an item would be super helpful.

Gift Plan
This gift planner is the best I've seen - it does everything! It keeps track of all your special occasions: Christmas, birthdays, anniversaries, even Valentine's Day. Birthdays are listed by date and year the person was born so it gives you a reminder that so-and-so's 47th birthday is coming up. You can have a reminder more than once if you choose or not at all. It keeps track of gift ideas, shopping lists, and of course, gifts purchased. It also keeps track of your budget, and each gift is assigned to the year you plan to give it. You can plan years ahead and you can keep records of previous years. The program has lots of options (you can even color code Christmas different then your birthday list) - so many that I may have missed a few. If you want a great gift record keeping list, this is the one for you!

I've been using this app for years to remind me when to pay attention to important people in my life. It's fantastic for that. It looks a little dated against iOS 7, but that's ok. I still love it.

It's helpful, but it is not very easy to use. Not very flexible, but I cannot find one that is better. It IS better than none at all, so I put up with its cumbersome ness.

Good, but some issues
Issues with the app are covered in some of the other reviews. Fundamentally does what it is designed to do.
Since $ are tracked in the app it would be better if the developer could add a budget per event into the app... Especially for events like Christmas.
Also to complete the tracking, need to consider the ability to track gifts received from the same people on your list. Please consider adding.
Need iCloud backup... Or some form of backup to allow syncing between devices.
How about an iPad version?
One last comment. Please start responding to emails.
Improve in these areas and I will bump you to 5 stars.

Confused
I'm pretty confused as to how people are having trouble with this app... I for one LOVE it! You CAN add people in to this app that aren't in your contacts list, or people who don't have their birthdays stored in under their contact name in your phone. I added my baby niece & nephews in, & they certainly don't even have phones lol I just added them in under the settings. I have been looking for a gift app for so long now. I hate all the "budget" nonsense some other apps come with. I never really have a budget when it comes to certain people & buying gifts. I just spend what I can afford. & this app, while I had to play with it at first to figure it out, is PERFECT! Don't change a thing! I absolutely love it.

Love the app, it has some great features but I would like more options that are a MUST for me. Would give 5 stars...

Ability to set specific budgets, add URLs, Categorize shopping by stores to help when you're out shopping & ability to share likes/ideas with others.

Love this app
I love giving people presents even on random holidays like Halloween.
I used to organize all my gift ideas for people in various note apps, but I love this one. You can add ideas, their likes and dislikes, clothing sizes, prices on the gifts, and whether you've bought the items, or given it to them! Really easy to use, and I haven't had any problems with it

I really like this app but I would like it more if you made it for the iPad/iPad mini. When you open it up on the screen and try to enlarge, the pixels distorts. I would rate it much higher if you were able to adapt it to iPad.

Clean Look
Simple clean app- easy to use & great list making function. Love the count-down function so you always know how many days left to event. Wish you could customize non-birthday events better with pics, etc.

Love this app!
Great app! Made Xmas this year easy to keep track of ideas for everyone and once purchased, the cost so all kids were even. Now if I see something while I'm at a store, watching tv, surfing the net, or my family member mentions they'd "sure like to have that"; I can secretly mark it down under their name and ill have a list if options when their bday arrives.

Im really impressed with it. It does exactly what i need it to. It keeps my lists, it even can be used for birthdays and anniversaries not just christmas. The app can be a little confusing at first to learn how to navigate but it gets easier i would recommend it again.

I just got it yesterday and it really helped me with my shopping. It took me a while to get it figured out but once I did it worked great. I looked at a free version and it froze up my iPhone. Spend the money for this.

Buggy Gift Planner App
This App is a pos. I spent a lot of time researching and inputting gift ideas that later just disappeared. Then, I discovered that the occasion window gives an incomplete listing of gift ideas and bought gifts for some people, but is complete for others. At times, the program closes out when I try to switch views. Don't invest time on this app filling the info unless and until they have worked out the bugs.

Doesn't update between devices!!!
I spent a couple hours getting b-day and Xmas wish lists updated for children and grand children, entered what had already bee purchased and was ready for the next days shopping trip to hopefully finish off 2012 gift buying. (yes we shop early and are typically finished with Xmas gift buying by September 1st). I turned on my iTouch to make sure regular shopping lists were synced with iPad and double check gift plan! It doesn't sync with the iPad! I was really bummed!!!!

This app is helping me a lot. I love that I can put in the likes and dislikes for each person! I love that I can put in the gift ideas for each person! When I buy the gift I can put in the dollar amount spent and quickly see how much I have spent on that person including their other gifts! I also love that it pulls in Facebook birthdays! I DO WISH THERE WAS A QUICK WAY TO SEND A HAPPY BIRTHDAY MESSAGE AS SOON AS WE SEE IT'S A FRIEND's BIRTHDAY!!! Overall- great app!

Pretty, but needs work
The app looks great. The idea is fantastic, however some tweaking would help. The app is a little confusing. Bought items under ideas are not totaled at all, only items put under ideas then flagged bought. If I see it I usually buy it then enter it in under shopping & the persons name. I Figuered out the totals wasn't tallying to late to start over. 50 presents later, no kidding, I'm not starting over. Also, a few of the entire entries were lost in the process. What was present 25? I have no idea. I did love the picture option for each gift. Scrolling down a specific persons gift was irritating, because the scrolling was not smooth, but jerking. I know a lot of complaints, but I really like this app. It just needs work.

Great app
Good app; I don't completely understand it's usage. For example, if you type a gift in BOUGHT, it doesn't show up as bought. Instead you need to input it as an IDEA, then click on the BOUGHT button. Also, if you buy one item, the list of people shows you are done. It should show options, such as complete, more, etc.

The app is very nice! It organized everything well. Adds many occasions. I like everything about it, except: - the price a little bit high, I promise that u can find cheaper or even for free similar app. - its not given a total how much u spend on each occasion, what is your budget was before, what is left, etc. But so far I found this app is so easy to use which is a big plus. I tried so many gift organizers n I finally stopped on this one, so far its working very well. Thanks a lot! But I wish you will do some updates for what ppl r needed in comments below.

Pretty but lacking the right functionality
The app is very pretty and easily pulls in birthdays from Facebook, and that is the extent of the positive comments. The apps a way to email a wish list; the ideas area needs a way to add store or website information as well as price; it needs a way to easily see items purchased by recipient; it also needs a way to quickly see which recipients still need a gift. The price for the a is way too high for the little you get.

The quintessential gift mgmt app
You don't have to look any further than this app if you are looking for a "virtual assistant" for gift-giving.
Well organized, intuitive and beautiful to use.
Yes, I can think of other features that I'd like to see in future updates. (You can read the other reviews for that.) But, I can't imagine any other gift-management app any closer to perfection than Gift Plan.

Shopping is better!
I hate to shop, but this has made shopping so much easier! I take pictures and write down the store I find present ideas in, I love putting peoples picture in their profile and having a quick shopping list, and have enjoyed how fun the app is! I haven't had any problems, but I do like the idea of creating subcategories, so that would be a good addition!

Fun with Organization
One of the first apps I purchased and well worth it. Love the reminders features for upcoming Occasions as well as the feature that shows an age for the next birthday. It would be a great addition to also show anniversary years. The graphics are beautifully enhanced with the ability to include photos and the Passcode feature saves my Idea/Shopping/Bought lists from curious eyes. This is one of my most favorite apps.

Great App
I've been using different tools throughout the years to keep track of gifts, especially at Christmas, so this app is almost perfect. The one thing I would recommend is if, in addition to a running total, which is nice, there were individual totals as well. This would make it just about perfect. For that reason alone I can't give it 5 stars, but with that feature added, 5 stars it is!

Keeping me jolly this Xmas!
I've had this app for a while, but have really started depending on it this Xmas. I like how it helps me keep track of the ages of my nieces and nephews. I love that I can add pictures. I hand make a lot of gifts and this helps me catalog it all. I was having a little trouble entering some info, and emailed for help. I was very impressed to receive an answer right away- excellent support!

Great
This app helps you organize ideas and plans about gifts. It's not the same as making a list for a particular holiday like Christmas or Hanukkah. But if what you want to do is figure out what to buy for each person, and keep track of ideas, and of what you bought, and gave in the past, then it's really great.

I don't give anything 5 stars because nothing is ever perfect but this one comes close!
I love how good looking this app is. So neat and love the icon. I really love the way you can have your loved ones photos and have all their info at your finger tips. I definitely appreciate the reminders. I always need them.
I really like the ability to list gift ideas and to keep track of purchases. I have not really used the shopping list feature but can see its usefulness.
I would really, really like to see in all the list features (ideas, purchases, etc.) a note feature. Where I could jot a little bit more information for myself. I know there is a photo option but I still would like to add more info sometimes.

LOVE IT!!!!!
This is fabulous and I can already feel my holiday blood pressure dropping. I tried some others that were too cutesy and busy. This one is elegant and easy. Plus I can go ahead and get birthdays and anniversaries in there too. Importing birthdays from Facebook was a breeze and you can choose who to import- it doesn't just dump all the birthdays in there.
One request - calculate anniversaries. I've only been using it a few days so I don't know all the bells and whistles yet - is it possible to save the records so you don't buy someone the same thing next year? Just a thought. This will be a long term app for me.

Almost perfect
I find this to be a beautiful app, more so than any others I've tried in the past. However, I find it missing key elements that other apps offer. I, like other reviewers, wish it had a total spent per person and, perhaps, for Christmas. I also wish I could distinguish between gifts from Santa and those from me (this is actually quite helpful). The only problem I've encountered is that, when in occasions-on a person's profile, what I enter into bought, instead of ideas, doesn't appear on their profile image. I've had to delete and re-enter. Not sure if this my mistake. Despite my wishes, it's a lovely app and the one I will use this Christmas.

GREAT APP!!!
I LOVE this app! 'Been adding peole & items on the fly to it all year when I see or think of gift ideas. It has come in SO handy! Suggestions for next update: 1) ability to add photo of item to its description and 2) ability to add web link for order quick reference. Thank you for such a handy, useful app. Looking forward to that update. ;-)

One app for all gift-giving occasions
This app is fabulous! I love that I can have one place to track everyone I buy for, for any reason, and also note likes, dislikes, and ideas. I also appreciate that there is a record of what I've given previously. If there could be one feature I would like to see added, it would be the ability to track a budget--keep a running total of each person's "bought" items, as well as a group for one occasion.

Very nice...but
This is a beautiful app. I found the functionality to be intuitive. The app has several helpful features - such as showing the date of an upcoming gift-giving event AND providing the number of days until that date, which is great for those of us who tend to think next month (or week) is a long way off.
However, I use the app on an iPad and hate that it is only in portrait view. This is one of the few iPhone specific apps I've downloaded so there is a lesson in it for me, too.

Wonderful gift planning app
I am horrible at remembering gift ideas but I am good about writing them down when they come to mind. This app is perfect for that. And it's beautiful and well organized too. For anyone that likes to stay organized with holidays and gifts, this app is perfect. Highly recommend it.

More importantly, I would like to see a total somewhere. I have three kids. I like to keep things even. My last gift app kept totals and allowed you to take pictures. Sometime it was easier to just take a picture of why they wanted rather than figure out the name of the toy.
Please include these features and this will be the best gift app out there!

Absolutely Gorgeous
Quite possibly the most beautifully designed application I've ever used. From graphics, to animations, to user interface its simply intuitive and amazing. Everything is smooth as silk. The app has amazing versatility for use year round. Its brilliantly laid out for ease of use. I'll never forget a opportunity to buy a gift again because I won't be able to miss out using this app.

Proof that beauty isn't everything
There is no doubt that this is a gorgeous app and provides useful functionality. Unfortunately, this is overshadowed by the fact that the app is buggy. During my few days of usage, it crashed on me about 5 times. Most of those times was right after I purchased the app and was trying to set it up with occasions.
Crashes aside, this app is useful. However, when adding gift ideas, I wish it would display all of my text. If you enter in a long string of text, it will only display the first part of it. There is no way to view all of the text without scrolling through the field. I would like it to decrease the font size and use a couple of lines to display all of the text so you can easily read what is there.
I purchased this app when it was $0.99. I do not think this app is worth any more considering it is crash prone and provides limited functionality.

Where did Glasshouse Apps go?
Like many, I bought version 1.0 around the holidays, to keep track of what I was getting people, and hopefully to store ideas to make gift-getting in the future much easier. I was thrilled to see updates coming quickly through the holidays. There were a few problems in the app's workflow (for example, you can't add a gift idea to a person if you don't specify an occasion for that gift. My workaround was to create a "General" occasion for each person, with a date of Jan 1. It's inelegant, but it works)
Unfortunately, the app has been worthless for me since the 1.2 release; I can no longer add occasions; having no option to save or title the occasion after I enter the date. It will crash at random, sometimes immediately after launch.
What's more concerning is that the developer's website is no longer online. I'm not sure when it went down; I was just going to send an email asking when we could expect to see an update. Unfortunately, it looks a lot like that update is not coming.

Beautiful App!
This app has bright, vivid, beautiful colors. It's easy to use, and I like the feature to add your own personal photos to each gift recipient. It's also nice that each person's gift giving can be recorded and kept to track back which can be viewed by each year/occasion - (great for those older folks who have a hard time remembering). I do have a huge problem with this app regularly crashing upon adding/editing photos, and sometimes when opening app after putting in password....Glasshouse Apps, please fix this crashing, it gets to be a little much at times - I would then be happy to give it a 4 star rating! Otherwise, thank you...it has been a huge help!

Great app!
This is a great app! I just finished my shopping with a well planned list AND I know what I spent. I have a couple of suggestions. It would be nice if I could have a budgeted total dollar amount and a spent total dollar amount. I'd love it if when I hit the "bought "button I got a spent total up top next to my budget. It would also be nice if I could sort my shopping list alphabetically so it's easier to find things. And I'd love to have a total spent per person in their individual account. In other words - I'd like it if the cost didn't disappear when the item is removed from the shopping list and it could shift over to the person so I can see how much I spent on each. Maybe that's too much to hope for but I thought I share anyway. Thanks for making this app - I really love it!

Beatiful, sexy, but buggy
I really like the approach taken here. And the graphical interface is top-notch. Unfortunately, some of the navigational logic is a bit non-intuitive and it takes a little playing around to get the feel for how to best use it. That's not a terrible thing, but the crashing is. Every time I've run it I've ended my "session" due to the app crashing at some point. And I've hardly put any data in it yet. Frustrating. Would prefer a much merrier Christmas present from the developers.

Almost, but not there.
This app is designed well as far as the GUI goes, but is lacking some features that I think a gift planner app should have. The animations are nice and the ideas, likes, and sizes are good ideas in each profile, and best of all this app does not crash every time i do anything like a few of the previous gift planning apps I have tried did. I have used many gift planning apps and there is glaring omission from most of them, including this. What I need is an app to track ideas of gifts as well as purchased gifts. The difference is, there should be a running tally of both gift ideas and gifts purchased for each person. If i set a budget up for someone and come up with a bunch of gift ideas in the app but only purchase a few of them, I want to know in the app how much was spent on the items purchased. This app currently only shows a grand total for items in the shopping section by occasion only, not by person, and in the profile pages there is no monetary support what so ever. I want to be able to have a running list of ideas but have purchased totals by person per occasion so I know what was actually spent on the gifts while also having the list of other items available for future occasions. I think something like putting a total of the items in the "bought" tab would help this immensely.
When adding ideas for a person, if you go to the shopping menu and input ideas you have an option to put in a price for a gift idea, but if you try and add an item to the "ideas" tab in a profile there is no option for adding a price.
Also, the bottom navigation is over-designed and the scrolling of the menu items is not necessary as there are only 5 items in the list and they all fit fine. I find the sorting kind of frustrating as well. Everything is listed by occasion and not by person so to get to a particular person for an occasion (say Christmas) you need to go to occasions, find the occasion in a long list of events sorted by days till that event, then find the person. A sort by person and not by occasion should be available as well. Not to mention that if you import contacts from your contacts and from facebook, you get duplicate entries for all of the contacts that are in both locations.

Form over function.
Horribly sluggish, no ability to sort by name, duplicate entries, and horribly slow import. Swipe to delete hangs for at least ten seconds before anything happens. All this and I'm on an iPhone 4. Typically a sterling review from Beautiful Pixels is a solid bet, but too much of this breaks conventions, with something to be said for picking a few tabs along the bottom.
Settings could easily be placed in the settings panel, and info could easily be a small icon, it seems like a designer went to town without a ux person to really reign anything in.

Very Slick
Beautiful look and feel. There are two things that bug me. The buttons on the bottom don't stay in the same place. It would be better if they stayed and the arrow move instead of them moving to the arrow in the middle.
Also the passcode is great however if you quit the app with a persons list up, when you open it back up the list is still viewable through the passcode screen.
Great app otherwise.

Slick! ...but very confusing
This app has a slick user interface and includes some very handy features to keep track of birthdays and gifts, but for managing a Christmas list this thing is too complicated for me. The "Occasions" tab is very hard to read because "Christmas" is in the middle of all of my upcoming birthdays. I get that it is trying to show which things are coming up next... but I can just look at the calendar for that. It would be much more efficient if they grouped all of the contacts into a single "Birthday" category that you could tap and *then* see all of your contacts, rather than seeing them all by default. Also, while the custom tab bar at the bottom might look nice, it is a little hard to get used to (often it misinterprets a scroll as a tap and jumps to a tab you never intended to go to). Also, why does the tab bar scroll indefinitely? There are 5 tabs total and they all fit fine on the screen, there is no reason it should scroll! This bit of UI makes it very hard to jump to a tab by muscle memory, instead I need to look at each tab and figure out where I am in the app and then tap where I want to go.
In addition to these quips, the app also crashed while trying to import my Facebook contacts and then after a reinstall imported most of my contacts... twice. I then had to go through and delete every other contact. Very frustrating when it takes 3 taps and a swipe for each "delete" and you have a lot of contacts.
I really wanted to like this app, but it is just not there yet. I will definitely re-review when an update is posted though.

Beautiful and useful — some functionality missing
This is a beautiful and well thought out app. The screen transitions are especially impressive. 4 stars only because they only allow batch-adding people to fixed-date occasions (like Christmas). Chanukah begins tomorrow (this year), and I have gifts to buy for a lot of fellow Jews, whose holidays change date every year! It's not worth it to add a "Chanukah" occasion for everyone in my family. Please allow batch-add for non-fixed-date holidays!
