Pay for this app so I can watch GMFB. As soon as they sold out to Disney and ESPN they bury the best show they have and make it impossible to replay. Keep Charging Even After Cancellation

I canceled the subscription service over seven months ago, I am still receiving charges every single month. I have to dispute them with my card company every single month to get it reversed. Apple TV Version Unsatisfactory

Users should not be forced to re-authenticate every other week. It is less than convenient. Most other streaming services maintain user credentials for a much longer period of time. When watching a game via Replay, the touchpad on the remote is limited to 30 second increments when trying to fast forward or rewind. There shouldn’t be set increments when using the touchpad for navigation. Also, a click of the touchpad should be an alternate option for pausing and playing. It would also be nice if Replay could go back farther than 2009 into the NFL vault. At the very least, allow users to view some classic games on-demand.

Whoever funds the development team should be ashamed of themselves

Update:

This app continues to disappoint me. The window navigation and hyperlinking causes articles to completely disappear if you click onto an in-app internal link. The cache does not save your recent activity, so the back button just takes you to the home page. This is so embarrassing. I am blown away by how poor this app is and how little the NFL cares about their consumers.

I would be ashamed of myself if I was on the development team that built this app or if i had been in charge of resource allocation for this project. Who gives this 4-5 stars!??!

This is legit thee WORST app I have ever used in my life. I use it on my TV at home, hardwired, with a 1GB speed internet. Every commercial break it freezes. I have a 65” tv, half the time the video comes in at 24” looking like tv from the early 2000’s. It’s always buffering and coming in at like 480p quality. This App is TERRIBLE

The first thing I want to say is that I use this app a lot and when it works, it’s awesome. I frequently watch replays every week as it provides a great way to watch games with NFL+ if you can’t watch them live. However, every single week there is some issue with using this app. Last week the issue was that my team’s game just wasn’t playable when using the replay option. I’d click on it and it would just sit there with a black screen and error out. Other games were available and working just fine. Other weeks skipping through commercials is spotty as the game will just freeze. There have been times in the past where the game will be in the first quarter and then when skipping through commercials the game just jumps to the middle of the 4th quarter. Some issue with the upload or something. Issue after issue after issue. Here’s the thing. I get that apps have issues, nothing is perfect, but this is the NFL. They are made of money and it is unacceptable to have this many issues and bugs from an organization this big. This app is honestly amazing, when it works. It is just infuriating how unreliable it is. It is CONSTANT with bugs. I expect more NFL, especially when I’m paying this much money. Do whatever you need to do to make it more reliable.

Used to be great

Several years ago this was a great app. Then it turned into a cash grab when they pushed NFL+ and put a lot of content behind a paywall. That was annoying but somewhat understandable. I could still get a bit of decent content. Then came the barrage of ads for every single video. A 6 second highlight video has a 30 second video. For a while that was tolerable because you could watch several videos after that ad. Then came the switch to ads preceding every single clip. Annoying sure, but there were still some articles that were worth reading. The quality of the articles went downhill pretty quickly though. Most of the articles just turned into a long list of tweets that were compiled to make some semblance of an “article”. But there were still some good things being reported- Bucky Brooks had some great pieces still (among others). Then came the latest update a few days ago and the app hasn’t opened properly since. I have switched to The Score for my NFL news and deleting this one. Really a big shame since I used to love spending time getting lost on this site.

App should bypass regional blackouts!

I’m tired of the shameless, greedy geriatrics who run the NFL. Why do they remain tethered to the technologies that will die with the Boomers? I ONLY WANT TO WATCH MY TEAM’S GAMES! It shouldn’t matter where I live. That’s the whole reason for me spending $15/months for NFL+. These regional blackouts make no sense. If I only wanted to watch the local team play, I’d drop $100 for a TV antenna and be done. It’s bad enough that I’m forced to watch the games on a phone or tablet, but blocking out games is the final straw. Greedy Luddites of the NFL, please give me what I want at a price I can afford. Quit catering to affluent Boomers with your Direct TV packages. Until then I’ll either stream illegally or stop watching. For $15/month I should be able to watch my team’s games on ANY screen I wish. I already need to endure the awful commercials so I shouldn’t pay more than that. (I’d pay $20/month if I could just have a camera left on the field during commercials.) Charging hundreds of dollars for season only prevents families from having access and it reduces the likeliness of future fans. Stop being greedy and shortsighted!

Buyer beware

Let me just say, when this app works like it is designed to, it is a thing a beauty. However, be cautious of other reviews stating that they have issues accessing NFL+ premium. Each week, the NFL app says that I need to subscribe to the annual or monthly plan for NFL+ premium when I already have. When the restore purchases button doesn’t work (it never does) you are stuck trying to contact customer service. This is where the real issue is that will drive you crazy. There is no live customer service that can help you. Your main options are a chat bot, virtual phone agent (basically a chat bot you talk to), and a form that can be filled out and reviewed by the customer service team. How in the world does a multi billion dollar company not have this simple issue fixed (I have read of others having similar issues in previous years) or not have a single live person who can help me with an issue that seems to happen every week I watch football. If you are getting the app for all other things like scores, replays, etc. it’s a great app. I would just be cautious if you are like me and enjoy the benefits that come with NFL+ premium because there is a good chance you won’t have access to it each it week if you paid for it. Save yourself the headache until they finally listen to customers and fix the app.

Score Updates and Final Score Alerts, Use ESPN or CBS

I submitted a review about this some time ago. During August, I corresponded with NFL support and just when I thought I was getting some where, then my ticket gets closed and I am sent back to square one. Here is the reality, I have uninstalled and reinstalled this app several times. The app is always updated with the most recent version to be had. The same statement is true of the iOS operating system. Here is the hard truth. The only alerts that seem to work are the team news alerts and the news and highlights option at the league level. IN fact, when you turn all alerts off, you still get news updates from the app. Worse though, when you turn on end of game or scoring updates for a team much less all the teams, you get no updates, not one. Want a game update, want a end of game alert, at least if you are me, you are going to have to go else where, CBS or ESPN.

Excellent app

The NFL app has become my go-to source for scores, highlights, and updates. It’s fast, reliable, and easy to navigate—whether I’m checking live games, catching up on recaps, or streaming highlights, everything feels seamless and polished. The layout is clean, and the app rarely lags even during peak game times.

That said, there’s one feature I think would make the app even better: please show each team’s record right next to their name in the Scores tab. For example, if I’m scrolling through Sunday’s matchups, it would be great to instantly see “Eagles (8-3)” or “Chiefs (7-4)” without needing to dig into the team page. It’s a small detail, but it adds big context for fans trying to follow the season at a glance.

Overall, the app is excellent and keeps me connected to the NFL week in and week out. Adding the team record display in the Scores tab would make it perfect.

Awful waste of money

I have this subscription only for one reason - because sometimes I can’t watch my team live. So how awesome to be able to watch them later, on my time, and not let it get in the way of kids and other obligations. Except one thing… This app is terrible. The simplest thing that so many other folks have mastered again and again: just play back video…. Seems to be too much for the nfl app. Video errors, and restarting. Hitting the 30 second button over and over, hundreds of times because the video errored and you are forced to watch the game from the beginning again. The complete inability to fast forward and rewind. The gall to accept people’s money for and just plain incompetence and greed. All of this has made this application one of the worst out there. I honestly can’t imagine how terrible you have to be to charge so much money to play video and not be able to accomplish just that. This is a just plain a simple rip off. Watch the game live. Don’t give your money to these incompetent jerks. Awful, frustrating and an embarrassment to humanity.

Auto renew

Two years in a row now it auto renews two separate accounts at different times of the year. They have literally 0 customer service. It sends me to a chat bot that ignores me, then they have a support email you can reach out to if you haven’t felt ignored enough by the chat bot, the email will fulfill that need for you, because they also completely ignore you there. So now idk what to do really except do guess cancel my credit card, or dispute the charge with them? It would be a nice app if they didn’t steal my money then ignore me. I cancelled my subscription on one account last year when this happened, now it’s happening all over again. So if you want to get automatically double charged, and the only resolution is to talk to a chat bot that doesn’t understand anything except their auto prompts, then this is the app for you!

Until they get the mildest resemblance of customer service to address issues THEIR system has caused I obviously can’t recommend the app. I’ll update this if I’m able to talk to someone to resolve my issue, but it’s been 3 days of crickets so I’m not holding my breath.

If this wasn’t the NFL this app would have failed

With an entire offseason I thought they might fix this app and they have not. It crashes constantly when going from full screen. I’m writing this review in the middle of the LA/Vikings playoff games because this is beyond frustrating. I pay for NFL plus for convenience and to watch redzone and if I didn’t love football as much as I do, I would have dumped this app immediately. I don’t know how many times I have switched to full screen and then screen goes black and the broadcast stops in the middle of a big play. I have to often force close and reopen the app. The transition from full screen by rotating my phone is very clunky and often times goes full screen and then switch back. I don’t know how this app gets a 4.8 star average unless the NFL is spamming the reviews with bots and 5 stars. Sometimes it will say I need to subscribe to NFL+ to watch despite paying a stupid amount per month for it. If anyone reads this review and agrees with how bad this app is I hope you give it a poor rating too until something is fixed. Don’t give them 5 stars just because it’s the NFL. If you found that my thoughts in this review seems out of order it’s because I’m venting as I’m writing this. Maybe if the NFL works out some of the major kinks In this app I will update my review. App integrity is terrible

This is one of the only ways to legally stream nfl games online without piracy, and from my experience using this app, it needs a major overhaul. The payment plan for NFL + constantly fails and doesn’t recognize when you purchase a plan anymore, so now you cannot watch your favorite team live except for on the Redzone, where you have to watch every other team and your team instead just your preferred team. The app seems to enter a soft locked state when trying to watch a game live with NFL + because after the purchase of a plan, and trying to watch the game on a live stream, it will not take you to the game like it should, and instead locks you out of seeing the game and back to the login screen where you have to enter all your information again, and this cycle will repeat indefinitely, which is infuriating because this is a very common occurrence. This issue has persisted for about the last 5 weeks of the NFL season, and it has only become more infuriating. I will remove my review after the nfl takes a much more serious and thorough examination at the app, and fixes its many flaws and issues, so that the app can provide what it says on the App Store, the best quality viewing experience for your personal nfl team.

Don’t bother

This app used to be great. Now, the entirety of customer service is either email based or phone center. (Chat would have been very beneficial for live trouble shooting) If you choose to call, you’ll be lucky to speak to a human. They reroute you back to the original menu because the recording says “your problem can be solved by searching this article on the website- goodbye”. If it’s email customer service center- good luck. All the responses are scripted. They don’t actually listen to your specific issue- even with photos- and when you finally start to show frustration, they stop replying to emails all together. You also can’t cast/mirror, or use the app on your Xbox to watch the games without a TV provider (more $$). Just stream on your phone or tablet. Minimal communication as to what each package actually does, and then finding out it doesn’t support the platforms it claims to once enrolled. I wish my issues had been addressed, or there were answers to my questions about upgrading for more content. I would’ve considered keeping the app/subscription. But after a week or two of back and forth with no resolution, kept getting it passed to the next “representative”, and then radio silence regardless of how many emails I sent- that’s enough for me if customer service is severely lacking.

Greed at its Finest.

Purchased the premium NFL app. Figured okay yea I should be able to just smart cast it to my tv. Nope. NFL restricts that ability, even if you have the app downloaded on to a tv it runs horribly slow can’t even load a single page. The app is beyond slow especially on mobile even on wifi. It always amazes me how the NFL makes BILLIONS and yet somehow has to scrape as much money out of the customer base they do have. If you pay for the premium, you should be allowed to stream it to whatever screen you want period. It’s practically a scam with how as soon as you want a game on it says sign in with a tv provider, so they expect you to pay full price for NFL premium AND full price for a cable provider just to watch a local game. The setup on the app is nice however which is why it’s even more frustrating that it’s this hard to attempt to watch your favorite team play. Need Paramount, you need Sunday ticket, or you need ESPN. It’s just beyond ridiculous. It needs to be explicitly stated the things you can’t do versus the things you can do PRIOR to getting the subscription, there’s much more things you CANT do then do so honestly just use a streaming site as the NFL doesn’t deserve your money.

Poor function

I paid for the subscription but it still doesn’t acknowledge that I have it. The main screen keeps telling me should subscribe as if I don’t have a subscription but I go to the settings and the settings show I have a premium subscription. So for some reason their is a disconnect with the system that can’t acknowledge that I have a subscription and can smoothly use the app and all the services of a subscription. I later found out that I can sign out and sign in and use it all. But why do I have to do that every time? Shouldn’t that be the basic function of a service when you pay for something? So ridiculous. You know what nfl streaming service worked smoothly? The layout you had before. It didn’t have the cool features of seeing video right there but at least I could enjoy the features there as there without the stupid functional hiccups we have now. I don’t need fancy features. I just need it to work so I can watch the stream when I click on it. On top of that, it takes forever to load the screen before I can even see all of that. So why have anyway. Just give what works.

App is Terrible

Not sure why they even have “bug fix” updates. Once again I spend $100 for an annual plan. App takes forever to load, if it even loads at all. So many issues with this app. Tried signing in with tv provider and it says there’s none available. Let alone the fact that I spend $100 on a plan and still don’t have access to every game. No matter what, in the end I’ll still have to end up paying for prime, peacock, and apparently every other streaming service if I want to watch the game. Why even pay for this subscription if I get more games on regular television? Anyway, app is laggy no matter what you use. No it’s not an old phone, I have an iPhone 14 Pro Max. But either way it shouldn’t be laggy on any device. Takes at LEAST 5 mins to load the games on the screen and who know if it even will load. I’ve tried to use the app on my phone, Xbox, and even a Roku. Again what’s the point in spending money on it when you have to use more subscriptions, and what’s the point in updates when you still can’t even load in. You have a multi billion dollar organization and can’t even have a good app. Absolutely ridiculous…

If I could leave negative stars I would

I’m not sure what genius thought changing the app would fix the issues the last UI had, but they’ve only made the issues worse. For such a profitable and large organization, this App and its associated App for TVs is absolute trash.

Typically, I can deal with a buggy app or terribly designed UI, but the issue I’ve run into today makes me think yall should fire your entire dev team. I subscribed on my phone to NFL+Premium for the ability to watch NFL Redzone, and signed into the app on my TV only to discover it wants me to subscribe AGAIN. I’ve logged out and logged back in, I’ve attempted to restore purchase several times, I even attempted to reach out to someone to get it fixed(no point because you can’t get past the chat bot to actually speak to someone). So, frustratingly I started just watching on my phone, only to be kicked off multiple times and asked to subscribe again! It takes 3 or 4 attempts of Restore Purchase for it to come back on…but will do it again 15 minutes later. This product is such trash you have guaranteed I will ONLY pirate NFL content from here on out…it’s so sad that I can get a better product from those places than the actual NFL.

Sign-in problems for 3 years

I paid for a year + Premium and didn’t have a problem until 3 years ago. Since then the signup process has failed, despite paying for a full year in advance. One year I signed up through Roku by mistake but finally got it to work when I got a real person on the phone. It was obvious that my problem was common; he was already working on it before I was finished explaining. Whatever he did worked. Another year I solved the problem by subscribing twice, and paying twice. This year I made a point of subscribing for the year through the nfl. I still can’t watch replay games and my wife and I have tried everything. (We have been sophisticated computer users since the late ‘70s for me and ’80s for her. Both of us have run computer departments.) There is no phone number that we could find and the nfl help system failed miserably. Our solution this year was to sign up for a new monthly account in her name, which gives us a month to find a solution. It’s cheaper than two yearly subscriptions, but so far we’ve made no progress on getting my paid yearly account to work. Beware!

Customer needs to be right!

If I pay 100 dollars for a subscription. I should be able to watch whatever i want! When I want!!!! Biggest problem with this for me is (screen mirroring) who does NFL think they are!??? If I want mirror this app. To my television! I should be able to do that! And you not dictate who can watch what and when! Multiple times I’ve missed games or had to watch on my phone! Because you won’t allow me to mirror the game from my phone to television! This is huge! Deal! A lot people are unhappy! I encourage everyone to boycott NFL app. Because they clearly take our money and run!!! It’s ignorant & disgusting behavior! If I pay you that kind of money usually my grass gets cut or oil changed and never do those people make you feel bad! We’re tired! Of being strong armed! By a huge corporation who clearly don’t care! Fans should be able to access this content with ease!!!!! From anywhere and mirror to a speaker, computer, laptop, tv. It’s my choice as the customer! Who are you? To decide how I watch my game? Bad App, Zero star rating

**Update** this app got worse! -3 stars now. I keep the app because I hope a logical person will take over and make it useful. However, I can’t even get into the app now, a screen pops up that reads, open settings, and that’s it. No other options, I change settings and still can’t enter the app. I’m curious to see how bad this app can continue to get.

This is what you get when you have a monopoly. A slow app with more advertisements than any other app I’ve ever experienced. Example: wanted to watch a 20 yard touchdown run highlight, the app played a 30 second commercial first. The commercial was crystal clear but the highlight was out of focus so I tried to watch it again but the 30 second commercial started back up, no thanks. I also attempted on multiple occasions to watch nfl game pass through this app, it never works. It won’t allow me to watch the games I want. Then when I select any game just to check if it will play it states I’m not authorized to watch live-streams, even if the game ended days ago. Lots of issues, they need better quality control.

Consistently functions poorly

Very frustrated with this App’s inability to function. It freezes, fails to load, takes a very long time to load, and doesn’t always stick to the settings (e.g. sometimes shows scores despite being set to not show them). First time I’ve ever rated an app this low and the first time I’ve written a review to complain about an app. Hoping more 1 stars will prompt improvements, particularly for those who pay for services associated with it (i.e. $99 for gamepass) and actually expect them to work. If I had a different option, I’d take it.

UPDATE: New year and nothing’s changed other than “NFL +” and the ever present “Fumble! Looks like there was a problem with the video.” message. No rating change.

UPDATE 2: The 2023 season has gone much more smoothly from an app performance perspective. Have not had any issues outside of those you occasionally see with any app. One suggestion…provide the option to continue a game replay from where you left off. IF the replay freezes, I have to skim 30s at a time to return to my place which typically ends up being towards the end of the 3 hrs. Super annoying. Increased rating to 3 stars, for now.

Save your money!

This app is just straight, street garbage!! I live out in the country, don’t currently have Wi-Fi and I use my data, got this app to watch my favorite team and follow NFL in general. NUMBER ONE…I have NEVER been able to launch the game at kickoff. NEVER! I go to “preview” before the game starts and then have to open and close the app several times before I’m able to get to the game. It’s ALWAYS minutes into play. Sometimes it takes 10 mins to get the game to play on the app, meanwhile, I have to listen on the radio in order to know what’s happening. NUMBER TWO…For the first 1/2 of the season, the app would freeze multiple times during game play. And YES, at critical moments of the game. I’ve missed touchdowns, turnovers, big plays…then I have to go through the same dance I have to do at the beginning of the game and end up missing more time. NUMBER THREE…. Last week,suddenly, with three games left of the season, I am only able to LISTEN to the games. I live two hours away from the actual stadium for my team, our local radio station airs the broadcast and I could LISTEN for free. I want to know why I’ve paid $99 to find that now, all the sudden, I can only listen to the games? That’s baloney for the kind of money I’m spending. Today, my game doesn’t play until this evening, so I thought I’d watch another game while I wait. All but two games are listen only! This is now a new thing in the app. I could “watch any game anytime from anywhere” that’s what they claim, now I can only watch what they decide to air? This is the 2nd year I’ve subscribed to this app, because my choices are very limited. But, believe me, I looked for alternatives since this app was crap last year too!! You would think that an app using the letters “NFL”, with their official logo, would try harder. What a waste.

This app is terrible

I have been using this god forsaken app for about a year, and there are bugs that they have yet to fix and I am very unsatisfied. I subscribed to NFL Plus premium, and am supposed to have access to all of the content, however 50% of the time i try to watch a game on it, it will tell me I need to subscribe. It will repeatedly tell me to do this over and over and over, whilst im missing the only game I wanted to watch (the only reason i have the app). Its telling me I dont have access to something that I have paid for and absolutely should have access to. No matter how many times I unsubscribe and re-subscribe the issue still pops up at seemingly the most inconvenient times. I have contacted customer support and went through all of the channels and this issue still persists.I have also joined during their deal (nfl plus premium 7.99 a month for 6 months) and had this problem come up again, and when I resubscribed it took away the deal and I was back to the regular price. This issue happens to me almost every sunday, and its a coin toss as to whether or not it will happen each sunday. I dont recommend this app until they fix this issue.

Huge Let Down!

The NFL + Premium that I bought would only work for some time on Sundays only until the app would freeze. Then I had to delete and remove the app from my phone so that I could watch again. It would work for 45 minutes or so until it freezes again and to watch again we had to delete and donwload again. Then after 7 weeks of the nfl schedule we just stop being able to use it. I would dowload the app and it would ask me to subscribe. When I tried to subscribe it would tell me that I was already subscribed but still would not let me watch the games. We tried messaging the nfl and all I got was automated answers that did not help me at all. It was a waste of time. I live in Puerto Rico USA and the nfl sells this app as the way to watch the games from any place in the world. Well from my experience that is a lie, a fraud. The worst part is that the nfl does not have a customer service to solve this issue and to help me through this process. The nfl wants to be international with games in London, Mexico, Frankfurt, but they cannot make their app to work in their own country. I do not recommend this app to anyone anywhere in the world. As an nfl fan is has been a huge let down and i feel like I have been robbed.

Worst app and customer service experience ever

Subscribed to NFL+ a few minutes before game time last Thursday and was unable to access the live game. Contacted “support”(chatbot only, no real humans to be found) when I discovered I was unable to access TNF and opened a ticket. Ticket was immediately closed and marked as resolved with a canned response. Opened another ticket, immediately after, requesting a refund. New ticket immediately closed with the SAME canned response. It took 12 hours for my subscription to “activate”, though they had no problem debiting my bank account immediately(crazy, right?) I’m a patient man, so I thought I’d give it another week. This Thursday I’m watching the game and everything is fine until the app decides to update IN THE MIDDLE OF THE GAME. No big deal, it only takes a minute, right? Update finished, reopen app, and now the side bar never goes away, rendering full screen viewing impossible! Thanks for the update, NFL… big improvement!!! So what began as a fiasco, morphed into a second chance, then immediately face planted into oblivion. I’m done, NFL+. How can an organization this massive have the audacity to charge for this garbage technology and provide virtually ZERO customer service to go along with it? On the off chance that a real human at NFL Support(if that’s even a real thing) reads this, please refund my $7.55. I have the screenshots and emails to backup everything I’ve said here. It’s not about the money at this point, it’s about the principle. Subscription cancelled.

This app is horrible

And every year it gets worse. I finally canceled my subscription this year, I’m simply tired of the frustration. Today I launched the app and it crashes when I switch to games. It fails in a different and more spectacular way all of the time. It’s also horrible at the one thing it’s supposed to do - play video.

Update: Finally gave it another shot in ‘23 and the service and app is far superior to anything it’s been in the past but unfortunately still a one-star rating. I’m in the fourth quarter of a game and the controls have become virtually unresponsive - literally almost a minute to respond to a button press. Also, playback controls in general are horrible - no fast forward and can only jump back or forwards 30 seconds at a time, and usually very unresponsive. ALSO, it doesn’t remember where you were in a game, so enjoy pressing the barely-responsive 30 second jump button literally 120 times to jump forward each hour if you have to restart your game. It’s inconceivable any business has a video app this awful at video playback.

Shame on the NFL

International NFL GamePass switched over to DAZN this year and it’s a total disaster. Only writing a review for the NFL app because there’s nobody at DAZN or NFL GamePass to get ahold of. Some issues with DAZN: Video quality was garbage. Couldn’t even make out the plays. Restarted and checked all internet in the house and it’s definitely DAZN When you click on a game it automatically defaults to showing highlights. I’m glad it’s just preseason but I don’t want to be spoiled! You have to be on silence and quick scroll down to change to full game replay or game in 40. You used to be asked these questions up front. Speaking of full game replay, they didn’t remove the commercials and breaks, which is annoying I clicked on game in 40 and got highlights and game in 40 when I clicked on highlights Tried watching a game after it started (from the beginning) but it wasn’t an option and had to scroll back from the live feed which spoiled the score. This feature is on the website so until the app offers this I won’t be using. There is no download game feature to watch off line anymore. So disappointed in the NFL. They took something in NFL GamePass that wasn’t broken and broke it. Hopefully this is just preseason for the switch to DAZN too. Will happily and joyously update my rating if things improve (and honestly just back to previous standard). Please fix your mistake NFL!!!

Another year of crap

I had high hopes when they switched platforms this year, but the app continues to be very buggy. Specifically, if you want to pause, rewind or fast forward, most of the time it doesn’t work. The interface either doesn’t show up at all or there is a huge lag between remote input and task execution. Yes, this is the only app that does this on my AppleTV, so the issue isn’t on Apple side. The key benefit of watching a replay is the ability to skip ads and game down time, but good luck being able to do this with any sort of consistency. It might work for a little bit when it feels like it, but will then glitch out. You can get it to work again if you back out of the game replay and/or app, but it doesn’t save your spot to resume the game. (This is a basic feature for any TV app.) So you have to remember the time stamp where you left off, but the frustration doesn’t stop there! Since you can only fast forward 30 seconds at a time, you’ll spend 5 minutes just getting the back to where you were in the game. NFL continues to fail on technology. Especially disappointing given this costs $100 a year. It makes me angry every time I use it. And don’t get me started on the stupid broadcast rules, but that’s nothing new. If my area isn’t airing the game and I’m not local for a blackout, then I should be able to stream a game live. Period. Or you should be able to buy only your team’s games without paying $500 for Sunday ticket to get one team’s live games. And you only use it when you can’t get them locally anyway. Having to wait until the game is over when I’m paying a good chunk of change is crap. We all know the money goes to the billionaire owners anyway. NFL is a bunch of greedy old white men who can’t find their way into the 21st century.

Fair Review

I was so excited to see that Redzone was available by itself on NFL+. After years of watching it via Sling or Fubo, I was tired of paying $50 for one program every Sunday (I don’t watch much television outside this).

We’re in week 3 of the NFL season and I’m still experiencing issues via tablet, phone and tv. The tablet and tv version of the app are stating that I don’t have an nfl+ subscription even though I paid for it before the season began. Last week it was the phone stating that I wasn’t subscribed and this week the same on the tv and tablet. How can I be watching it on my phone signed it but it isn’t recognized anywhere else when I’m logged in. Halp

I will say customer service got back quickly about clearing cache and logging out. But now I’ve done that on the other two and it’s still not working. So, it’s a larger issue. And email customer service only is disappointing for a company of the NFLs caliber. A chat agent should be able to answer simple questions and move it to tier two teams.

TERRIBLE

ABSOLUTELY TERRIBLE APP AND EXPERIENCE. Please do not waste your time with NFL+. I signed up for premiere account to access NFL Red Zone and the technology was horrendous. It was incredibly difficult to try and get the app/website to load to the correct screens and ultimately I was never even able to stream it for even one minute.

I tried to troubleshoot and go to the website chat to speak with an agent but the system only allows to “submit a request” via the chat box so no one even got back to me in a timely matter.

NFL+ absolutely STINKS. Laughable how easy it is to sign-up and give payment information but then impossible to actually use the product. Also hilarious how difficult it was to cancel (you need to cancel by going to the website aka you cannot do it through the app & it needs to be done PRIOR/SEPARATELY from deleting your account). This means you better cancel the payment before deleting your account otherwise you will continue to be charged.

Incredibly disappointed but shouldn’t expect anything less from a business that runs such a monopoly. Please don’t waste your time.

I try every year, but it always fails

I’m only able to watch games via streaming and don’t need to watch regular-season games live, so the NFL app should be perfect for me. When I started using it around 2018, it was. Watching every game without commercials a couple hours after it was aired, or even the next day, was fantastic. I’ve attempted to get the same quality product from this app in subsequent years, but it does not function properly. Some years, they’ll show you get commercial-free replays, but run their own ads instead of commercials. There is always an issue such as that which doesn’t fulfill the terms if the subscription. But still, I try. In this year, 2023, I tried and found the service worked well in preseason week 1. When week came, I could watch a live game, but loading an older game has a lock symbol and shows I have to have a premium + subscription to watch. But just above that, it says my current subscription is premium plus. My subscription settings page also confirms I have the highest tier of subscription.

When the service worked, it was well worth $80 a year. I personally found it worth $150, when I was able to watch the games. But it is worth nothing when the service does not work, and every year sees one issue or another that prevents me from watching any games.

I’ll still try again in 2024, with fingers crossed that the bugs get fixed.

What did y’all do???

So I had NFL+ last year and had no problems. Could watch all the games anytime and was able to log in on my phone or tv. No problems and absolutely loved it. Went to subscribe for this year and was able to watch the hall of fame game during the free trial but then nothing… keeps telling me to subscribe which I already have because you took my money. I log back in and nothing changes. I still have to subscribe??? I’M ALREADY SUBSCRIBED!!! Contacted consumer support and did everything the bot told me to do - got an email with the same suggestions - did it again - no change. Emailed them back and I’ve gotten nothing in return. Still doesn’t work - phone, tv, tablet, computer - nothing. And no more response. I know with the start of the season, there was probably a lot of traffic for the app, but if it’s not fixed by the time renewal happens, I’ll cancel. I’m not paying for something I can’t use. Which is a shame because my family loves this app and as a nurse I can’t always who works nights, I can’t always watch the games - so please fix this.

Do NOT Get NFL+

I bought NFL+ a couple of weeks ago in order to stream the NFL Top 100 Players of 2023. The show itself was very disappointing this year, as it was divided into a 3 minute clip for each player, making it so you didn’t get the full experience you would in previous years on NFL Network. Furthermore, I experienced a glitch where the pause/fast forward/rewind buttons were stuck in the middle of the screen and were impossible to make go away. It was very distracting, making the NFL Top 100 experience very disappointing this year, even though it was something I was able to enjoy with my father in years past. Now, since the Top 100 is over, I’m looking to cancel my subscription. I’ve gotten to the “Manage Subscriptions” page, but where the button to cancel my subscription should be, it says “Subscription purchased via iOS. Use an external service to edit the plan.” Of course, the button to upgrade your account to “NFL+ Premium” is very accessible and right in your face when you’re trying to cancel your account. Confused at what this message meant, I tried to cancel my subscription on a different device, first trying my google Chromebook (since it isn’t iOS), but had no luck. So far I’ve had no further success troubleshooting, and I can’t find any information on how to solve this issue. So for now, I am going to end up continuing to pay for a subpar service that I am looking to get rid of because the site has not allowed me to cancel my subscription, even when I directly followed the instructions given on the NFL support page. In summary, I’m very disappointed in how this new service is being run. It has a lot of bugs and doesn’t provide much at all. For something the NFL is promoting so much, I would’ve hoped it would’ve ran much more smoothly. I hope to find a way to cancel my subscription soon.

Deceptive service and buggy performance

This app and service is trash. When I downloaded the app and selected a streaming service to watch football, I anticipated paying some fees. But only AFTER I paid $65+ in subscription costs did the app then tell me it requires a cable subscription to connect to in order to watch NFL+! I tried everything but anytime I tried accessing my newly bought subscription, it wouldn’t let me go any further until I selected my cable provider. News flash; I bought the app and streaming because I don’t have a cable TV subscription or account.

But even the basic usage is not satisfying. Every Sunday (no exaggeration), there were at least 3-4 games that simply wouldn’t play at all on video. It would just say “there’s something wrong with the video”.

And of course it was usually the prime time or most important games of the day. Even now during playoffs I’m getting the same error message. And no it’s not a problem on my end, my service is full bars and my wifi is working just fine.

You’re better off watching the text updates on live games on yahoo or google or something.

Terrible game coverage

I am an Eagles fan and the only game every week that I care about is the Eagles game. I paid for the regular subscription and then upgraded to the premium version. Aside from only being able to watch the games that they let me watch on my phone, the last two weeks in a row I have been blocked from being able to watch the Eagles game live. What am I paying for then? Seriously, a streaming app that has the NFL’s permission to rebroadcast their games live, and I have to wait until the game is over to watch it. What kind of bunk setup is that?! I don’t care if the ads during the game are local to where I live or not, I want to watch my team play live! And while I’m on the subject of watching my team play live, why does it matter if I have a cable tv provider or not to watch the game on my tv? I use a roku stick. Why? Because three or four streaming services is waaaaaay cheaper than paying for cable. Get your act together NFL+. This is unacceptable the way you currently have it. And don’t tell me you can’t afford to stream every team to every subscriber live regardless of where they live either. You’re streaming. It cannot possibly be that difficult to give fans the ability to watch their team every week without blackouts.

Frustrating

All I want is to be able to check scores and keep track of play-by-play for the teams I am interested in. Often I find myself ditching the app and just going to ESPN’s website because I get better results. I’ll stare at this app for 5 minutes trying to figure out what’s going on but have no movement. Then I back out, close the app and when I open it back up I’ve missed 10 plays and the ball has changed hands twice.

A few years ago this app was great but it gradually has gotten worse. It’s almost as if someone studied it and took note of the things that were good so they could remove those features to make people mad. It doesn’t seem too much to ask to have some sort of indicator on the “scores” tab showing which team has possession of the ball. Or even a small graphic that says where the ball is on the field. Not a good app

First off, games on the NFL app are a hit & miss. A lot of them you aren’t able to see and the ones you can are usually blurry. Supposedly there was an update to fix these issues but haven’t seen any progress. Since I subscribed to it I expected to see all/any game I wanted but that’s not the case. There is only a small number games you are eligible to watch. My second complaint: I bought a phone and all my apps were transferred to my new phone. With the new phone I was never able to log in because it stated there was “no account under my email” which is absurd because I was using it just fine on my old phone. I tried multiple times and wasn’t getting anywhere with it but let it be known I was getting charged every month. How is that possible?? Supposedly there is no email associated with the NFL app but they were withdrawing every month and sending me a charge to my email address??! Makes no sense. Truly dissatisfied with this app and if you want to save yourself the headache please use a live stream or an entire different app. Very dissatisfied.

Completely trash app!

This application is a complete joke. I live where I can’t get good antenna reception and all I want to do is watch the local games. I had to pay for NFL+ which is a complete rip off. It doesn’t work more than half the time. The scores have a “Stats” section which you think would give you players’ stat, but no, it only gives team stats which no one cares about and there are no in game players stats like a box score. From a multi-billion dollar organization this application is a complete joke and a complete rip off! I can’t believe that I paid money for it after having years worth of issues with the app before this. I do like the condensed game replays, but I have to watch them because so often I can’t get the game on my roku with the horse crap NFL app. Had to uninstall and reinstall to get a game that I know for sure should be on the app and says it can’t connect to this game. It pulls up on another device though. So frustrating! What a joke. Update: I have now signed into NFL+ which is a complete rip off about 5 times and it still shows a padlock as if it had not signed in. Restarted the tablet and still does not work. I am trying to uninstall and reinstall. So frustrated with this piece of junk!

Unfortunate

I downloaded this app thinking I’d be able to watch my local games(saints because I’m stationed in Mississippi with the Air-force) and hopefully my favorite team (patriots because New England is where I’m from) play live. I was wrong. You can pretty much only watch your local game live, cannot cast device to my tv(black screens when app sees it being casted), the rest of the games are listen only or reply. The replay feature At least is nice. NFL this is my advice to you. Cable is dying. Slowly and surely. Us young people don’t watch that commercial littered garbage. You should create your own Netflix style app, where you can pay a subscription for the football season to WATCH any and all games live(oh wait you have one, this one!!!!!) please for the love of god move everything under one roof. I guarantee people would pay $40 plus for the season. I WOULD. Or even like $15 a month for the months football is on! Football is the spirit of America, we shouldn’t have to subscribe to CBS, ESPN, Fox, MSNBC and wherever else to watch football. Cut the middle men out, make your fans happy.

Every new update makes the app worse

I’ll start by saying that in principle I really like this app, its a convenient way to check scores and I really enjoy a lot of the articles published. That being said though I can’t help but feel like every new update, which unfortunately are forced upon you because the app won’t open unless you use the most recent version, makes the app more annoying to use and that has become especially apparent recently. The insistence on shoving NFL+ down your throat, the video player automatically starting up whenever you open any article which is extremely annoying to mute or close because of how unresponsive and laggy it is and making loads of useful tools like in game player stats or league wide stats either completely unavailable or simplified to the point of absurdity makes the user experience extremely frustrating especially when compared to the website.

I hope this trend can be reversed in the future because as of now I really don’t see the point in even using the app anymore.

Worst app in sports

You would think the NFL itself would want to make it easy to watch their games. Instead, they have put forth the worst, most frustrating and pathetically incompetent app in sports. I wanted to watch the Vikings game in London. My tv provider (DIRECTV Stream) doesn’t carry NFL network. I have the app but you can’t watch this game (not broadcast anywhere else but on this app) without an NFL+ subscription. I begrudgingly sign up for the monthly. But, I can’t access on the app on my smart TV because it says “connect to your account to watch”. I am connected to the account and try signing out and back in, reloading the app, etc. Same problem. So, I try the website on my computer. You can’t watch on the website, only the app. I try the app on my tablet, but it tells me “my tv provider doesn’t support” (which is infuriating because that is why I paid for the NFL+!). I end up watching through the Vikings app on my iPhone. Absolutely livid. The NFL should ban itself from broadcasting television until it gets a clue how to broadcast television through multiple media. Right now it has none. Monopolies almost always correlate to crappy service. Case in point.

NFL+ is the worst garbage to ever grace the App Store

If you’re buying this thinking you’ll get NFL+ and stream replays of your favorite games games, you’re sadly mistaken. They advertise NFL+ like it’s the next coming of Jesus Christ himself when it would be lucky to pass as a drunk disoriented pee-wee Herman. First of all, half the time you miss the first 2-5 minutes of games because it’s too busy showing you the pre-recorded game previews indefinitely, so you have to refresh constantly to not miss the opening minutes. Secondly, even with the full subscription of 9.99 a month you don’t get to choose to watch any game you want. You get to choose between 2 games you actually didn’t want to watch. Thanks NFL. You can only LISTEN to (but not watch) 90% of the games live. God forbid you get to watch football on an app literally dedicated to watching football. Oh yeah but NFL+ offers replays right??? Wrong. Any replay that isn’t a prime time game has no sound whatsoever. The whole point of a replay is being able to experience the game as if it were live. But go figure, they screwed that up too. Not to mention you don’t even have the luxury of streaming this on a laptop. And on top of all that you paid 9.99 for all of this and the NFL doesn’t even have the courtesy to actually give you the service you paid for. NFl+ is the most garbage service I have ever seen and it’s not close. Imagine paying 9.99 to watch NFL games and you literally can’t even choose to watch any NFL game. I NEVER leave reviews on anything, so this should tell you how bad this app is.

Game pass is garbage

Game Pass on your television is awful. Awful. I have had nearly every game ruined this past season. Why? The app is such garbage it will constantly fast forward to the end of the game. If you try to fast forward 30 seconds it jumps to the end of the game. It crashes all the time and you go back to the beginning - or to the end. I have paid for Game Pass since it came out - why is a great question for my therapist - and it has been garbage since day one. This year however has been so beyond infuriating it is impossible to find the right words- find whatever word you can that describes what makes you want to smash your expensive tv with a hammer and give up football for the rest of your life. If you’re unsure whether you should pay, for the love of the lord, don’t. Please do not give these greedy incompetents another dime. Watch the highlights for free. It’s all you are going to wind up with anyway. May the makers of NFL game pass be forced to watch the same game played by the Cleveland browns and Jacksonville in a bottom level of Dante’s inferno. This game will begin with 3 minutes of commercials, freeze, then jump to the end of the game as Blake Bortles shakes hands with Case Keenum - and repeat for eternity.

If you’re thinking about GamePass, save your money.

This app is glitchy, slow, and inconsistent. I (try to) use it on my phone, iPad and TV. It works poorly on all of them. My biggest complaint is with GamePass. I want to watch my team and I live “out of market” so I wait for the game to end to watch the replay. First, I have to log in every time. Why does every other app on my TV have the ability to remember who I am except this one? Then, I am shown a graphic with the final score, which I have intentionally avoided for the last three hours while the game was in progress. When I can finally get the replay to load, it is glitchy, and often requires two or three restarts. Today, for the first time, I see I can’t get the full game replay until 2-4 hours after the game. This is new, and not an improvement. I take some comfort knowing I’m not the only one. This week I heard 3 separate journalists ripping the app as they have difficulty watching the all-22 footage.

This is the last year the NFL gets my money. This thing is worthless to me and I wish I could get the rest of the season refunded.

The app is absolute crap.

I cannot believe that I paid more than one hundred dollars to be able to listen to my Broncos play live. Since I now live in Ohio, I was very excited to be able to at least catch the game while working in the yard, or even while watching my second-favorite team, the Bengals.

The app won’t load at least 75% of the time I open it. Or, it will open, think with the swirling circle of death, and freeze there. When I am able to get the game pass to load, after multiple times trying, the simulcast is choppy, with varying volume and bad mixing with crowd noise, and then, 100% of the time, it cuts out and won’t come back- unless I close the app, then open it multiple times, to try to get it to load. How a multi-billion company can make such a piece of crap that only frustrates fans is beyond me. My advice- don’t get it. Find a radio app that lets you listen to the game on an affiliated station in your home state. Using this BTW on an IPhone 12 Pro Max with 5G. Streaming is a joke but only with this app- everything else on my phone for streaming works well. Junk.

Please Fix Game Pass on Roku and Fire Stick

My son and I love the 49ers, but we live in Missouri, so we only get a handful of games that we can watch throughout the year. We used to go to a local restaurant to watch the games. That became almost as expensive as signing up for direct tv, so this year I signed up for game pass with all of my birthday money (thanks grandmas!). At the beginning of the season it worked great! I’d turn off my phone notifications during the game and once the game concluded we would fire up the app on our roku and we’d watch the game like it was live. Being able to fast forward the commercials made it as easy as watching a Netflix series. As the season progressed, the app began experiencing errors. We switched to our fire tv and then eventually bought the latest fire stick hoping the app would work properly. Nope. If we try to fast forward even five seconds, we find ourselves in the fourth quarter. It’s quite frustrating. Could someone improve the experience on the roku and the fire stick please? And while we’re at it, could we eliminate the highlight that automatically plays when the app opens. There is nothing worse than opening the app to watch a game you’ve waited three hours for only to see the game winning touchdown before you can even search for the game you were wanting to watch. We’ll probably buy it again next year as I will have several months to cool off, but right now I’m wondering why this doesn’t work more smoothly given the excellence with which the nfl does almost everything else.

Coach’s film

For the most part the app is awesome. I really like to re-watch certain games and it’s great to be able to watch the condensed game. But I really like to watch the all-22 film of my favorite teams on Tuesday’s. I have a football background, and i am sure most that use this feature were either a player or a coach at one time. So in comparison to hudl, or the various film softwares i have used over the years this one is by far the worst. You can only rewind or fast forward in increments of 10 seconds, whereas most platforms let you rewind second by second. So when i want to rewatch each receivers route (or see where the guard misstepped, or see why the safety got out of position, etc) i can only do that in 10 second increments (where most plays are not 10 full seconds) so it turns into a lot wasted time. It seems like an easy fix. Realistically, most fans do not watch the coach’s film, because there is no sound and it is not the view we are used to on TV. I would assume the vast majority of people using this feature are players and coach’s, so i think catering to that audience for this one area of the app could really improve things.

Wifi Streaming through TV Provider doesn't work anymore!!!

This app used to be awesome but they did something during an update that completely ruined the Wifi Streaming capabilities on any of my iPhones or other mobile devices. Also, I could only use the Streaming service through my Roku TV up until about 2 weeks ago when they updated that app and ruined it too! I love all the other features of this app but most importantly I want to be able to STREAM! Please fix this. Another thing that bugs me is they used to have Xfinity as a provider (although it didn't work properly when they did) but then it disappeared. I've had to change cable companies just to get NFL Network. Thank God it's on Sling TV & FuboTV now. Either way, please, whatever you did to the app that makes it impossible to watch NFL Network through the app live, fix it!!! No matter if I'm using Dish, FuboTV or Sling, after I sign in it just goes right back to the login page telling me that I need to sign in to my provider to watch live. This is beyond annoying. On my Roku TV it stays on a loading screen forever even though I've deleted the app 5 times and reinstalled. Nothing makes a difference. I really want to be able to watch NFL Network on my iPhone again but I don't understand why that's not a priority to fix for your developers. This is a serious issue that's been going on for over a year and I read other reviews that say the same thing I'm saying. Fix the Streaming service please and you'll get 5 stars!

Misses the Point

The re-designed interface looks pretty nice, but is fails in some of its most basic functions. Most importantly, clicking the “Games” tab indeed shows a listing of the day’s games, but no scores! Even when the game is finished! You click on the specific game and still no score! You have to WORK to figure out the scores—I just don’t understand it.

My other main complaint is that for the $99 I spent on Game Pass, one should not have to watch commercials in order to view video highlights elsewhere in the app. Podcasters and other content providers give privileged access to their content for basically any level of support. Here, you pay $99 (for the home town radio broadcasts) and get some other features that I happen to not care about, but you don’t get to watch highlights without sitting through commercials every other one.

I paid the $99 essentially to hear Merril Reese call Eagles games, but for that kind of money I expect a much better product from the NFL. Surely this enormously well-resources organization can put out a top-quality app if they wanted to.

Verizon mobile customers don’t get nfl network?

I second some of the comments below. In addition to being a Verizon mobile customer I’m also a Gamepass subscriber and NFL REDZONE add on in app subscriber. Up until this last Thursday September 20th I was able to watch NFL Network via my WiFi Network. I just selected the NFL Network option and the broadcast came on. Then after Thursday’s update I continually get the “select TV Provider” option. First of all if I had NFL network on cable why would I watch it on my phone?!? Secondly as a Verizon customer I was under the impression I could watch the NFL Network without a tv provider. Furthermore why would this be an option up until sept 20th but now NOT an option. If written and received the trope Nfl App help advice: clear browser, sign in sign out, reinstall app etc. please feel free to reach out to me and/or update the app so this can be remedied...just to watch a little NFL news guys...not that big of a deal.

Happy to write a review of Gamepass functionality on this app also. Subpar not fitting of what I paid for. No player search. No game search. Not close to the full online functionality (which is ok). Watching Redzone on the app is mediocre, usually takes 5-10 restarts to get the Redzone functionality to kick in.

Other than that great job! Keep up the good work!

Inconvenient and confusing

I have had NFL Mobile for a few years now and have always enjoyed the layout and format of the app; however, the newest version/change is very inconvenient and confusing. Although all of the information is there about your “favorite team”, it requires lots of scrolling and searching to simply find the news stories. The older version was more colorful and organized which made it more enjoyable. Before, if I had read a news story, there would be a check saying I had read it which was very useful. I also can no longer select multiple favorite teams to get updates. I used to have three teams favorited, but thats not possible any more. Lastly, I found a glitch. Two days ago, (Monday) I finally received the final scoring and game score updates on the Ravens preseason game which was Thursday night. It took 4 days for my phone to receive the game notifications. The current version is functional and works, but the old version was much better in my opinion, I don’t find the app as enjoyable anymore.

Not Happy!

I am confused as to why the latest update to the NFL mobile app has take away my ability to watch NFL network without login has been taken away. I have Verizon as my mobile provider and I believe that should give me access to local and prime time NFL games as well as Playoffs games and NFL network. There is no option in the other account to select verizon as my mobile provider. The options listed are only for TV providers. Please notify me if their is a way to connect to my verizon mobile account. I remember doing this two years ago and having it be fairly simple and I don’t believe I had to do that again before the start of the 2017 season. Please help me with this because I don’t understand why this has happened. Also why has the ability to view games from past seasons been removed this seems to be highly unnecessary. Please go back to the format the app was in for the last few seasons it was much better. Also recently noticed after other people pointed it out that favorited team games don’t show up at the top please change this back to the way it was. I also think the the presentation on the app looked better last year
