All in all, good

All in all, this is a great app in which to keep all my medical records. Yhe bad news id thst I ised to have EGD photos so I could compare on a triennial basis, but those pictures are no longer available. What happened to them???

Super app

I have used this app for a few years now and I have all of our family’s medical history in one spot. The are amazed how much information I readily have on hand. This is the best personal health record I found to date. Not thrilled with the ads popping up now and don’t plan on paying a recurring fee to get rid of them. I guess it is just business. I can live with them. Again, best app to record and track your family’s medical history. Would highly recommend it.

App no longer useable, support gone

I used this app in its earlier incarnation, but after it ceased being supported, I moved on, so I was very happy to see it back when I rediscovered it a couple of months ago. I got it downloaded, and found I was unable to recover an old backup — but given the age of the backup, I couldn’t complain. However, in the last week, the app started crashing on startup, and I have not been able to get it working. I tried going to the posted support page only to discover the capzule.com domain is no longer responsive. Once again, it looks like they are just gone without warning. I’d have given this review zero stars if I could have.

Previous version was great

Read the reviews carefully. The early version was great. I told all my relatives to use the app. The current version 2.0.10 is a major disappointment. Functions that used to work do not work now. In version 1.x I entered data on my linked Windows PC to update Capzule on my iPhone. The current version links but I cannot transfer data to my iPhone. I have tried for 5 hours too transfer data from one iPhone to another iPhone. The instructions for Share Data do not match the screens of Version 2.0.10. I could not get Merge/Copy between the iPhones to work. I thought that I could backup to Google drive and then Restore. Google warns that “Google hasn’t verified this app. Until the developer verifies this app with Google you shouldn’t use it.” Summary: it is now difficult to enter data, you must renter the same data into each device, the instructions do not help, and you cannot contact the developer. The original design was good. Unfortunately, the developer has not been able to continue developing this app.

Timeline view improvement

I have just completed transitioning all my records from the MyMedical app (which I’ve been using for years, but is no longer supported) to Capzule. The good news is that I was able to Import the majority of the data and manually enter data that couldn’t be imported. It took about 30 hours over a couple weeks to get myself setup. Now that I’m more comfortable with the app, I’m hoping the transition for my family will go faster.

I really like the timeline view, but it would be great if there was a way to go from an individual entry to the full detail record. Right now, a double click just pulls up form/date reference…. Not the underlying information. This forces one to leave the timeline and go to individual forms. It would also be good to have a search function available from there.

Fantastic Personal EHR Application

This is a fantastic app. I have used it for years and because of this application I can provide accurate historical information to my providers as it contains details I may forget to share. Despite the prevalence of provider portals, I aggregate my own data here.

I appreciate that the data is stored in the device and not on a server somewhere.

Extremely impressed

My expectations come from being a My Medical app user for years. I’ll freely admit that I was reluctant to switch to a different PHR app. I mean, who wants to waste time revisiting all your old medical records? The fact that the old app had effectively been abandoned by its developers left me with no choice.

I researched a handful of potential replacements but most of them were just variations of the Apple Health app. I found and downloaded a couple of likely replacements and took them for a test drive. It didn’t take long to figure out which was the superior product.

Capzule quite impressively fills a gap that Apple Health doesn’t address. Editable (and updatable) lists of medications, family history, and most importantly: info from doctors not in Apple’s database.

The UI is a dream. So much easier to navigate than the albatross I was used to using. Although I enjoyed Capzule’s ease of use, I initially attributed that to the evolution of the current app standards. After living with it for a few days, I only appreciate it more.

There were a couple of minor issues figuring out what info should be posted where but after spending a few minutes in the app I’ve decided that their system is logical and intuitive. I was probably just stuck in an old mindset. That being said, I’m not going to further mention what my specific classification issues were.

I also want to take a minute and address their in-app ads; They have a bunch of them. Save yourself the bother and just buy the ad free subscription right up front. While we are on the topic, I am very happy to pay the subscription. It just means that the Capzule developers have an incentive to hang around and keep their app updated.

The best currently available

I’ve been through three different medical apps in the last 10 years. This one has promised to be my very favorite of all of them. While it could use a little more structure in some of the forms in my opinion, it does Thing that you need out of these medical apps. That is, it allows you to track multiple issues for multiple people along with your drugs and keep it in one place where you can print it out easily and hand it to a physician or emergency personnel. I strongly advise all individuals to download this app.

Getting buggy

I’ve had this program for a long time and it’s great. Very useful & largely functional.

In the past, I had real issues backing up through Dropbox. The developers contacted me a couple of times and although I could never make their suggestions fix anything, eventually the problem seemed to work itself out after several months went by and a few updates came out.

Now, though, I’m experiencing problems with the app quitting shortly after I launch it. Once that happens I’m never able to get it to open and stay open until after a full shutdown of my phone. (I’m on an iPhone SE 2020, with the current iOS version.) it’s pretty frustrating when that happens after I’ve started to enter some data.

I see the app hasn’t been updated in many months. Is it still receiving support?

Where is Support?

Addition 12/24/2020- This app is no longer supported and sent out a letter sending people to Andaman app to transfer their data. Andaman says that Capsule didn’t provide them the info to be able to transfer data for Capsule customers. The note says that you can continue to use the app but it will no longer be maintained or updated. I am looking for a replacement.

This app is great, easy to follow and enter and read. I just finished adding all my info and my family info and paid the 11.99 / year to go Adless. HOWEVER, I made an entry for my height which is 5’10”. It recorded as 5’1”. That is a big difference. I can’t find a way to change it, I’ve checked all the FAQ’s etc and can find no solution. I looked for any support link and there is NONE. No matter how good an app is if there is no support it is a bad app. Hopefully someone will read this review and give me a hand with this problem.

Major backup bug!

While I really do like this app a lot, it has one fault that is so bad I feel the need to share it with potential users. The app often reminds users to be sure to back up their data before updating the app in order to avoid the possibility of data loss. Unfortunately, whenever an app update is released, the user MUST accept the update because the developer prevents you from opening the app to back it up before running the update. Also unfortunately, the developer LOCKS YOU OUT OF THE APP until you accept the update! The developer does not provide a method for the user to ask how to back up an update has been released, as there is no “contact us” feature, nor is there a support number or email address.

Capzule 2.0.7 No Longer Working

Been using Capzule V2.0.7 for a while and its been fantastic. However, it is no longer working on my iPad Pro or iPhone X. Tried it on both Apple V13.6 and 13.6.1 versions but neither one works. After doing some exploring, found that Capzule/Webahn web site certificate has expired yesterday. Not sure if this is related to app problem. Are others having problems using Capzule V2.0.7 after Aug 22, 2020 ???

It’s a terrible app, you can’t easily share the information you enter with your computer, or other mobile devices, Help does not respond to questions. Before you waste your time entering all your information, pick a different app.

Confusing status of application

Great application but am finding references that developer is no longer supporting it. Last reviews are 2 years old. Last application update appears to 6 months ago. Application developer’s web page offers no communication options. Developer’s web page time stamp is 2020. I wanted to contact them about the availability of a version usable on my desktop, but I find references from other sources that support has been discontinued. This application is still fully functional and I’ve been using it for years, and appears superior to other apps available.

Great App for integration

I have been taking care of my aging parents and use this app as my main PMR for them. It does not depend upon a external service or vendor. Historical Online PMRs have shut down, the other options do not integrate well with other software. For example the ability to link to Google drive where I store medical images and downloaded clinical data from my parents Physician office/Hospital portals.

Being able to use the Http link from ones PC to add data into this App is a great feature and works well.

Can’t find anywhere on developer site to contact... everyone I try to save a document or file the app shuts down! I love this so,I have tons of medical stuff going on, and with a BUNCH of new testing coming up, it would be incredibly helpful if this post of the app functioned!

Great app until last update

This was a great app until version 2.0.6 was released. No app does not work correctly if device is in dark mode. Also if on the iPad the subscription to be add free doesn’t work but they still charge you, but I get at least one add a day since the update. I really hope they fix this in another update and quickly charging people something to be ad free, then they still get ads isn’t right.

Lost data

Initially, I bought this at version 1. I liked it but only needed to access it once or twice a year. So, when the iOS 11 update came out I was unaware that the app would not work. Fast forward to post iOS 11 update and version 1 no longer works. No backup of my data and can’t find a way to access or import the data to version 2. Poor planning on my part and the developers. They should have made it so we wouldn’t lose the data. Also, I paid for the first version. Since iOS 11 and up do not support that version, it irritates me that I now must pay again (if I want to lose the adds) for a subscription. Wrong, just wrong.

Best Medical app ever!

I have used Capzule for several years to keep track of medical information for family and friends. I tried several apps before settling on this one. I like how all the information is gathered in one place and it is easy to access. I use it all the time for every appointment, Information on meds and contact information. I love how you can attach pictures and documents. As said, everything is all in one place and that makes it super easy. I have been at Stanford and UCSF using this app and medical staff were very impressed!

CAUTION you will Lose your medical records!!!

The idea behind this app is great and there is certainly a need given modern medicine BUT their execution is HORRIBLE. After using the app for a year or so there was an update and “Poof” all our records were gone and could no longer be recovered. What happens next?? Nothing. You start over. There is no customer service, there is no phone number. Your records are simply gone. Think about it. You spend the time and energy to consolidate all your records in one place and then one day after an iOS update or app update they’re gone!

Stunningly Awful!!!! It was such a great App.

Hard to believe, but this app’s performance just goes from poor to very, very, bad. And it was such a wonderful piece of software back in the day. So sad. I can no longer backup data - not in Google Drive or Dropbox, Clicking on Airdrop just causes the app to crash, and now not even emailing works! The email is never sent. So no more sharing between devices. It has to be manually entered on each one! Either fix the app so it works properly or just put it out of our misery!!!!

Capzule was my former favorite, even with the ads. However it now stays open only for a couple of seconds after tapping icon, both on IPhone 6 and 8Plus. Would have been 5 stars except for this unfortunate glitch.

Must have App

I have been using this app for years and love it. I have two autoimmune disorders which require me to go to numerous doctors during the year. I totally depend on Capzule to keep me organized. When I’m referred to a new doctor, I have all my medications listed and history of my past medical procedures etc to review with doctor. I recently had problems with my iPhone 6 which made me get a new phone an iPhone 8. I had not been able to update my old phone for some time so I had not had any problems with Capzule. However with the iPhone 8 my Capzule would not work and I was lost!! After much searching I found an updated app in the App Store and luckily I had backup in my cloud so I was able to restore everything to my new phone Praise the Lord! This app is awesome. Everyone needs it.

Horrible

Had no chance to back up data before the app stopped working with last iOS update. Have my medical history but my other family’s was lost. Stupidly enough I bought the updated app (would’ve been nice if the developer let us download the new app for free as we’d already paid for it but NO). Paid for and downloaded the new app and now IT doesn’t work and is out if date. Complete waste of money, do not buy!

Can’t get help

I used the previous version for years. That version is not supported by current iOS. I can’t import data from old to new version. There is no way to contact capzule for help. I’ve essentially lost over 5 years of data for my chronically ill child.

Very good app. Zero support

Very useful app. Rather than update app. A new app was created. Information from old app will not transfer and you obviously can’t open old app on new iOS to manually copy data. No way of contacting Capzule either.

Unable to move backup from Capzule 1.0 to 2.0

My backups are in iCloud. There a way to restore the 1.0 backup from iCloud to Capzule 2.0. After upgrading to iOS 11 I can’t even start Capzule 1.0.

The app is great, but no notice was given that it was being updated and that the old data doesn’t transfer over in order to view as before- very disappointing!

Thought this was a great app until

I open the app and I now get a pop up message that says “a new version is released with fix for iCloud and dropbox connectivity problem. Thank you” at the bottom of the box it says OK and takes you to the App Store which does not give you the option to update just to open the app and when you open the app the same message appears therefore I cannot access any of the information in the app.

UPDATE: The next day there was an update option in the App Store which I did and now the app is running perfectly.

My biggest complaint is the irritating ads which now randomly pop up while I'm trying to take notes in the doctors office. They are full page and require you to click them off before you continue. I'm irritated by this, But it's still a really great app. Please bring back the paid app without ads, and I will pay more for it and give you 5 stars again!

Been using it since 2014. New upgrade is VERY similar to old v1.0 with 2 big FLAWS! Unable to import data from old app unless you had them backed up separately! Now there are pop-up ads (annoying). So instead of re-entering data all over again, purchase an ad free app and start from scratch!

Give us a paid option pronto!

I’ve been using the app for a few years, it really keeps me organized, love the calendar integration and prescriptions list. I refer to it every doctor’s visit. I’m older now and not having to memorize my meds and dosages is very handy. I’m also very happy the app is now iOS 11 compatible but now its ad sponsored and I really don’t like that at all. Today I was prompted to watch a video and the sound was on. Having this go off while I was in a meeting was aggravating. I’d gladly pay for the app to get rid of this. Without it I may have to look elsewhere to record my medical data.

Upset customer

I had the old paid version of capzule. I updated my phone to the new iOS 11 software for my phone and went to open the app and it states that it isn’t supported by the new software update. I try to update & can’t. I downloaded the newest version to see if I can have the information migrated over and I can’t. 7+ years of medical records of me and my family- GONE!! There is no way to contact the developer to get an answer. I tried following the steps on the page with no success. I can’t find an email- nothing. I’m so upset, frustrated and disappointed that they would do this.

This is a fantastic app. My wife uses it religiously, and nothing out there compares. We were very disappointed when there was no iOS 11 support, but thrilled beyond belief when you released the tweaked ad-supported version here. But please, give us the option to pay for ad removal. I had all but given up my precious app when 2.0 appeared. I’ve been using this app since 2012 and depended heavily on it especially as I age and have more doctors appointments. I almost missed out transferring my info as IOS 11 overran my iPad but you saved the day. A bit tricky at first to figure out transferring old info. It would be helpful to give a way to restore from an old backup if Capzule 1 was rendered non functional. Syncing (or fixing sync) with Dropbox would give it 5 stars for me. Don’t leave again please.

I LOOOVVVEEE this App!!

I guarantee you that I am beyond abnormal when it comes to keeping detailed PHR (personal health records), and I take much pride in staying organized and on top of my medical history. Having many medical issues and having to see many different doctors, it’s so nice to have everything in one place that is very clean, visually appealing, and user friendly. I was freaking out when I thought they did away with the app, but now it contains ads (I originally paid the $20, but I’m just glad I still have my Capzule HR!) TRUST ME...I have tried them all and nothing comes close to this app.

Please continue to remain in the App Store forever!

I love this app. Used the old version for years. I didn’t know where else to ask this question.

If I have already updated to iOS 11, Is it possible to transfer information from the previous app to the new 2.0 version? I am worried it will not be able to access my original data.

UPDATE: Thank you for the quick response. I did back it up, but to iCloud. Will I be able to access it from iCloud?

Update removed my paid features

I paid for Capzule 1.0. I was overjoyed to see that they put out 2.0 so I would not lose it during the 11.0 upgrade. But they put out a add supported only version, ignoring those of us who paid $4.99 for the previous add free app. And when you go to app support, you are directed to their website with *no* way to contact them via email or form. So the took our money and then put out a mandatory upgrade that removed the paid features, and I am left with no choice but to leave a 1 star review.

Can't transfer Capsule 1 data to Capsule 2

My husband and I have used and relied on Capsule to maintain our medical records for over 5 years. To use this new version we must re-enter our profiles and all our medical data. That's not acceptable. Please provide a link to resolve this issue.

Thank you for your response. I was able to transfer our data and all is well. Like some of the changes such as being able to add physician from appt screen.

Love this app!

I've used this app for quite awhile and it has become indispensable for me. I am able to schedule my appointments in the app and they automatically show up in my calendars. I take a photo of my lab results to put in Capzule's files. I can put lab results like blood pressure and cholesterol into Capzule and see at a glance results on a chart. Backup has been smooth and sharing within my devices works fine. At the doctor's office I am able to access any medical info in seconds. I know Capzule needs to place ads to keep developing it so that doesn't bother me. It would be nice to have the option to pay to eliminate the ads like so many other apps do. Thanks for a wonderful app!

Cannot restore backup from 1.3.1

The instructions to use airdrop to restore a backup of 1.3.1 data to migrate to 2.0 does not work. It crashes the app. It actually crashes both versions, repeatedly and reliably. Since there is no other way to restore data from the previous version, I'm stuck. Time to migrate to something else I guess. UPDATE: I was able to restore from backup using dropbox. The airdrop issue was limited to the iPad, but I could not get an iPhone and iPad to recognize capzule on each device. The instructions and capabilities provided are in some cases incomplete and in others wrong, as they refer to capabilities that do not function.

Absolutely rely on this app

I love this app, really rely on it to keep track of my medical history, including prescribed medications. It's comprehensive and easy to use, and has proven its worth many times over, including during medical appointments. The ads aren't greatly intrusive, but I would gladly pay for an ad-free version.

Love it! But...

I had the last version and I loved it too. The only thing I've noticed is that there's advertising on the new one and no way so far to remove. I also haven't found a way to contact them to ask questions like how to remove the advertising.

Please don't ever stop making this app!

I have literally never written an app review before. However, I felt compelled to do so because I can't imagine keeping track of my families medical records without this app. When I learned that it would not be supported in iOS11, I downloaded over 10 other PHR apps but none even came close to what this one can accomplish. Andaman7 was the best alternative I found , but the lab tracking leaves much to be desired. Capzule is by far the easiest to use, most comprehensive in terms of what info you can store, and has the best UI of any PHR app out there. My only wish is that I could pay them a lump sum to remove the adds. But the company has to be able make money to keep developing the app. Thank you soooooo much for keeping this app going.

Wondering

This app is "one of a kind." It allows you to accurately record records. I used it much with my wife's cancer up to the point of her death...it provided continuity of care instructions and documented well test results. It is disappointing to find this version full if adds...I use it because it is good for my own medical challenges but the adds are a nuisance. Don't know why developers can not create purchase option...
