I have been using MyChart for several years. I am delighted that at least three of my providers also use MyChart. I’m able to easily share information among them. I get test results promptly. Messaging my providers with questions is very easy. I like being able to import Appointments to my calendar. I think that this is a very useful app, and I wish all my healthcare providers used it. The other similar health chart apps/websites are quite cumbersome.

The pros are it’s easy to navigate, moderate access to records, the items that do get uploaded upload relatively quickly.
The cons are that they don’t have an automatic payment option in place which is a huge annoyance, hard to get rid of reminders for outdated appointments & booking appointments is hit or miss. Sometimes trying to book appointments the system gives a weird message and you have to call it in.

I have enjoyed using my chart because it is so easy to read and you don’t have to call your doctors with questions all the time and the answer you on the page when they get time. All my appointments are there for me to see and I don’t have to worry about losing appointment cards. You can read about test results at the end of the day without worrying if it’s a weekend. I have friends that choose not to use it but I try to convince them how easy it is to use.

I love MyChart for myself because everything is there and easy reminders….the reason I gave it a 2 star rating is because it’s crazy how you get kicked out of your children account at age 12 and you can’t see the appointments and what you need to see it just don’t make sense 12 years old where they still living with parents and parents have to still do everything for them it’s just nonsense and crazy… and they not realizing some children has learning problems or disabilities and can’t understand it and some are 12 in age but really about 5-8 with the mind so like how do that make sense…the age should be until they 18 unless with learning problems or disabilities 21 some may need to be changed to parents can see everything permanently because some has permanent disabilities where they can’t do things on their own…this is crazy and nonsense and just makes things complicated when it really don’t have to be…also they said MyChart is to talk to dr directly if needed when they get the message they message you back or call you I NEVER get to message my kids or I drs directly and they message back it’s always the secretary why should we have to talk to secretaries about things that we only want to discuss with our drs….when things change and makes more sense I will change my rating and review but age set to 12 and parents kicked out don’t make sense and not being able to speak to your dr directly don’t make sense

I have been trying to send a message to my doctor through MyChart for 3 days now and have had no luck using web browsers, so I thought I would try the app. It was easy to find my physician network and log in. The home page looked organized and accessible, and I was able to see a recent message from my doctor. That was the end of anything functional, though. I clicked on “Messages,” and my previous messages with doctors loaded after about 15 seconds. I clicked on “send a message,” followed the prompts to select reason and provider, and waited. A screen opened that said “message” at the top with options to “close” or go “back,” but that was it. No field opened for me type anything in, no keyboard opened to type on. So I clicked “close.” It acted like I was mid-message and gave me an option to discard or keep the message, but no matter what I did, I was never able to actually type anything. From there, nothing in the app worked. If I clicked on messages, again, it would go to messages, but it would say there was an error and give an option to “reload.” The home page wouldn’t load correctly. All content in the app was messed up from there forward. (This was, by the way, the same issue I was having on web browsers.) Technology is great, when it actually works, which is not the case for this app or MyChart.

this app isn’t even working to ley me see the text im writing in the review. places dont seem to update nor get records elsewhere but of course thats not true. nobody enters it. most is misinformation based on incomplete information inputed. its only help is for a foc to write a note to you but even that is not a breeze to reply to. no idea if they get it. even vovid 19 new booster isnt listed and so no way will it let you schedule- nothing works outside narrow, unchangeable parameters. if It wnt essentslly mandatory Zi wouldnt have it. but both providers here only do communicating thru it. Ivetried to refuse, oh nou did they not like that. hateful and the app can fail if provider’s don’t actually invest time to make it accurate and timely/- actually helpful to patient —. somebody do s better app - a better mousetrap is do needed. with data entry from patient perspective would be a huge improvement so things not right can be made obvious to providers they need to fix dsta enter or whatever. its not user friendly except for maybe s foc. maybe. but I dont think they need it— the patient has to deal with it, so they need it to serve them on some level or the doctor patient relationship is damaged. does anyone really read these to improve it seriously doubt no one has said all of this way before now. fail.

Version 10.6.2
1) Having to repeat the same long, (but thorough), questionnaire each time. I suggest that at the beginning of each section there be a link for changes/updated. If none you can move on to the next session and so on.
I have no idea how much time this will save your patients but (based on my frustration at having to go through the same information line by line knowing I have no changes). It really makes me not want to spend my time with redundancy.
2) I was not able to in the billing section able to go in and change my old billing address to my new address and had to call the billing office and get it changed. Dispite the fact it had been changed everywhere in Holy Cross systems. It took approximately 20 minutes for the change to be made, there was a learning process that the person had to go through to successfully complete the change. I see this as another step that “fell through the cracks issue.”
3) NO I am not a happy camper to have to use my time to sign in on the MyChart App when I know it’s going to take me longer than if I just sign in at the Doctors office and then repeat much of the process again when in with the Doctor. Everyone really want the most efficient and thorough process, however more so on the staff/Doctors side than mine, (at 87 I have nothing but time but don’t want to waste it on time consuming nonsense).

I can’t access all information

Version 10.6.2
This was supposed to be easy, I should be able to access information I was told would make it to my health providers in Mammoth CA. However I’m not able to access from the UCLA, “it’s not available” even if the Dr said she would forward it to the correct Dr.’s, it wasn’t so I log on to download it for them, only to be told I can’t retrieve my own information. It’s very frustrating and confusing. As a patient, I have been jumping through hoops to get to a decent diagnosis and care option, to be held back by bad records, or by no records that were promised to be sent. And what I mean about bad records is a lymph node 3 inches long in groin, a lab from UCLA decided not to biopsy, worded it wrong, hence, making it look “normal” it followed me with record of a bad decision on a radiologist whom never saw me, just said “they weren’t going to do the biopsy” then it showed other physicians that it was normal? How can a mistake like that continue? A 3 inch groin lymph node is hardly normal. There is the last appointment from UCLA in Santa Monica, now not available for me to see and print, plus was never sent to my attending doctors, nor can I print it for them. How is this helpful in my healthcare? It isn’t. I wish I knew how to make a formal complaint.

Version 10.5.3
While e-healthcare has its benefits, the fact that my personal information is spread across many “covered entities” (private businesses that receive my info to do something with it, usually against me) far outweighs the benefits of it. The HIPPA law allows a great deal of this under the guise of “public safety”. I strongly disagree with this okie-doke the HIPPA law created. I also do not like how I have to electronically sign acknowledgement permissions because if I want to draw a red line through a couple of things, and initial, that I don’t want to give permission for, but don’t have a problem with the rest, I can’t do it like one could do in yesteryears. It’s either sign it as is, or don’t get the healthcare I need. With the majority of people being sheeple, my concerns are not addressed and corrected…but that don’t mean I’m incorrect about all of this. Anyone that has no problem with this stuff doesn’t precisely know how this system negatively affects them. No sane person would trade personal quality of care for general quantity of care for the general public. The e-healthcare issue trades personal quality for general quantity. It makes me not want to seek the care I need. What good does modern medical breakthrough’s do if the e-tools in place screw the person over when they seek care? They get to live a little longer, but on their knees, and not on their feet!!!

Version 10.5.3
This is the beginning of how a patient can integrate all of their medical information in one place to enable their eyes and the medical practitioners are looking at the same scheduled appointment and test results and prescriptions and written communication. The app works perfectly but user experience will vary based on how well you can fully implement its features. There is a learning curve on both ends of this thing but if you patiently (sic) (not sick) work out the details with your doctor’s office, and their referrals then you can see that all of the pieces connect. The better the staff and you acquaint yourselves with the features the more you will get out of this. Ultimately when you’ve got you’re information managed well here, you will have better access to medical care. It will save you time filling out forms, or waiting in phone jail to confirm information you can find here. You have much more control of your communication here than on a phone call, and this helps them to help you without you sitting on hold just to verify your prescription went to the correct pharmacy. 5 stars is aspirational for all who dive in and help their doctors office really use all of the features. I’ve seen great progress in 2 years time and find it to be completely reliable.

I’ve been using the MyChart app for several years now with multiple providers and it helps keep my medical record information and think between my cardiologist, my urologist, myGastroenterologist and my PCP. It also makes it easy toms schedule an appt with a specialism like orthopedics.
He also makes it easy to send medical requesting information to providers with a refill needed or other help as requested
One complaint about the app is that it doesn’t make it easy to view the facility address and doctors office location in the upcoming appointment section of the app. Since I see a number of doctors in many locations, I was going to double check I’m going to the right facility. If I open the app the day of the appointment, it should have a pop-up with the location and time of that appointment. Not make me dig for it and never find it. Overall, I give the app high marks for with a couple of his

02 Jul 2023 I have been using the MyChart app from Epic for over 10 years and it has been great at providing the information I need in the spectrum of health services that I am provided with. There are a few things that the app / providers need to perfect MyChart however for it to be up in the five star range. 1. You need to enable the saving of all records regardless of type by the patient user as a PDF file. Having to take scrolling screen shots and save them so they can be opened into an image to PDF converter is a real pain. Safari already allows PDF saving of browser windows, MyChart needs to do the same. 2. Lab results, Practitioner Summaries and Notes, Radiology reports, surgery procedure notes and summaries need the ability for the patient to email them to primary and other secondary providers without having to go through the hoops in Item 1 and then emailing them.
20 Jul 2023: Received reply from Epic. I have used the Web site instead for Item 1; but, it will be more convenient from the app. Will update when that happens. The emailing is an isdue however that currently is only addressed by downloading a PDF the uploading on other providers portals rather than directly from MyChart. I find myself constantly having to do this because providers do not update secondary providers and visa versa. I feel like a mouse on an exercise wheel having go do the work that providers should be doing.

I feel the health organisations benefit more from my chart then the patient, in just pure honesty I feel I have a right to share my experience with out backlash , kinda makes you wonder why you are limited to a one time review , where thehealth care provider are not limited , in one of my reviews or should l the only review I’m allowed to write I was almost finished and it completely disappeared ! with many characters left to complete in order to feel if anyone else felt as I did , I was taking the opportunity to express how I felt about it ! One other incident happened when a radiologist left his honest professional reading of a simple CT , but not to name names his findings came to me as well into medical records ! WOW , there it was and less then 8 hours it was taken out of my chart less anyone toes get stepped on ! I thought we lived in a free society to express ourselves ! We do , but little did I think Big Brother and or Big sister might be editing what you write before you even write it ! My once in a one time only to be given the opportunity to express myself in this free society. Michaelwetherholt@gmail.

This app holds much promise, but continues to assume the average patient is too dumb or incompetent to view all of his/her own health information. I want to see the same identical information that health care workers see when they are in my record. Lab results include a reference range, but do not always include units of measure! Is that result 20 %? Is it 20 g/dL? Sure, a lot of patients may not understand all of these details but they have every right to see it. Lab results should also have the time stamp; especially for inpatient results since very ill patients often have repeat labs drawn in the same day and I want to be able to trend them over time. This is especially important when reviewing labs as the patients proxy. Also, where is nursing documentation? I don’t know whether these features may be available on a desktop but I use my phone or iPad and would like them to be addressed there. On the plus side, my organization is doing a much better job at making records available in real time. The app keeps getting better but please let it reflect the exact same info as if my provider were logging in.

Want to connect the other way...

Version 10.5.1
So my provider recently switched from FollowMyHealth to MyChart. While it's not bad so far, there is one feature missing from the old app. On FMH, I was able to have Apple Health share information with my FMH app, such as height, weight, and blood pressure. This feature seems to be absent in MyChart. I was able to connect it the other way - that is, I was able to connect MyChart to Apple Health and have it share data to the Apple Health app - but I can't seem to connect it the other way and have Apple Health share data with MyChart. I think this would be helpful because I use Apple Health for a number of things. For example, I have a blood pressure monitor that connects directly to Apple Health to track my BP. So it would be very helpful if I could share this information directly with my physician. Other than that, it's a perfectly fine and serviceable app.
Edit: Apparently it is possible to connect the other way, and I just haven't figured out how yet. Will look into it.
Edit 2: It seems like the feature's availability might vary by provider... If mine doesn't have it, I'll be a bit disappointed.

Version 10.5.1
Should have a place where you can communicate with billing, not just medical purposes. Especially when you work the same hours as they do and can’t call during those hours. At least I could leave a message and they could contact me back through your app. Second, billing should have it where you have a receipt for each individual online payment. Insurance companies want proof of that payment, the business that it’s from, proof of the person and how much. On your website I have a huge lists of payments, but can’t take a picture of that individual payment, and it just has guarantee number on top and not my name or exactly what I did. So I can’t send picture to my insurance company. A lot of insurance companies are paperless and you go through their app. Very frustrating. It shouldn’t be that hard to have one page that you can take a picture of all information from that one I do use payment to send to them. And when I finally had the time to go down to get a copy, it’s not a really good legit receipt of payment to prove all information. Please update your system so it’s easy for us to relay the proper information to our insurance companies. This is a huge thing in life for everyone. Convenience is a must! Thank you!

Love it.

It’s so easy to use. So much easier than other patient portals. Do so wish ALL my providers would subscribe. And this has NOTHING to do with the fact that my granddaughter works for EPIC! UPDATE: I was shocked to read so many critical reviews, although I did notice that they improved over time. I don’t think users fully realize the extent to which MyChart is only as good as its providers use it. Entry of inaccurate information and failure to respond promptly to messages and to requests for appointments, are but a few examples of provider fault, not MyChart’s. Most unfortunately, but realistically , these days, providers do not always listen carefully to what their patients tell them. I have noticed numerous inaccuracies in my own records due to inaccurate entries made by my providers. On RARE occasions, it was even my own fault, such as when I was asked for information about something that happened so long ago that my memory was faulty. Perhaps it would be helpful if EPIC were to emphasize to providers the quality of their entries and maybe even establish an intensive training program for providers. At 80 years of age, I am not a technological mavin. Admittedly I do struggle with changes, but I applaud EPIC for its sensitivity to criticism and ongoing attempts at improvements. I have so much difficulty with some other patient portals that I have stopped using them out of frustration. I am not a fan of monopolies, but in this case I’d be supportive!

Version 10.5.1
It is unbelievable how MyChart has transformed every aspect of my medical care. My Community Health Network adopted MyChart some time ago. It has simplified communicating with my physician and their staff. Instead of filling up a doctor’s office with perfectly healthy patients who are simply there to go over test results, sickly patients and others who may need the time of the Dr. are able to be seen. Why? Because my Dr. does EVERYTHING MyChart was made for! Paperless billing, payments, questions to message your medical professional, test results, and even more than that. When I say “test results” I mean within minutes the results of any visit, whether it be outpatient surgery, office/clinic/emergency room visit, or a prescription refill via the app, the information is all available in MyChart.
I rarely write a review because I’m not easily impressed with apps. This app is a must use app for medical professionals and patients alike.
It has done a great service for the medical buildings by simplifying doctor/patient interactions. No need for an unnecessary “follow-up” just to go over uncomplicated results.
Great job to all on your team!

Honestly, I seldom take the time to write a review for a Mobile App, but “My Chart” is truly an invaluable tool for all who need to, or desire to, follow along and be involved with their own health and medical history. Especially for seniors.
I’m 65 years old and of course my memory just isn’t what it once was. In fact, I am the worst at remembering passwords. So on my Apple phone, I simply log in with face recognition. It doesn’t get any easier. My chart has been a life saver to me. It allows you to build your own medical/personal profile, comprised of your personal information as well as your own comprehensive medication list. Once the profile is established, it’s simply updated from that point on by your doctor. It provides me with a history of my visits, doctors notes from each visit, treatment or procedures discussed or performed and the results. It allows me to contact my doctor and his team with any questions or concerns regarding my health. Including prescription refills, simply by emailing the link provided in your profile. The response time is generally much quicker than calling the office. The best part? It’s safe and secure.
If you want to truly be more than just a patient, have 24/7 access to your medical files, with as close to a direct line to your doctor as you can get, look no further. “My Chart” is like have your own personal healthcare assistant!

MyChart is invaluable to my health. I have cancer and had to drive from Utah Valley to the Huntsman Cancer Center every 3 months - always at least 50 mins one way and then the drive home in major traffic. Now with a Virtual medical visit, my oncologist keeps tabs on me and my PCP knows instantly the results of my cancer #s and my doctors comments with “0” driving! I can EASILY send a message to my PCP to refill my meds and ask any health question I have and I get a response most times the same day. All of my history is available to me and each doctor can check each others notes and my son is a doctor in Austin Texas and I can authorize him or any out-of the U’s system easily to see my health history. Getting Help with my bill, doing co-pays and setting up automatic payments are handled easily. I could go on and on and highly recommend using MyChart, but of course you should start using the University of Utah health system. Try it you’ll like it. -GO

Version 10.4.2
MyChart has been a lifesaver for me during a health crisis year, during which time I have been seen by many specialist providers and have needed to gather documentation necessary for my disability insurance. Doctor visit notes and letters are all recorded in MyChart and easily accessible via computer or mobile device. MyChart has been so helpful that I have transitioned almost all of my providers to be within the UMN Fairview system because it is easy for providers to access all of my health records and communicate easily with me and my other providers for coordinated care without delays. The ability to grant one-time access for an out-of-network provider to view my health records in MyChart appears to be a new feature that I appreciate and plan use moving forward.
One criticism that I have with the MyChart system is the messaging process for communicating directly with providers. The system does not allow for the same message or question to be sent to multiple providers, similar to an email where you can send a message to multiple recipients or CC others. This would be helpful, as multiple specialist providers sometimes need to be notified with the same message. This is a minor gripe, however, and overall my experience using MyChart has been wonderful.

I have been seeing specialist for 43 of the 45 years that I have been on this Earth. Until Norton’s MyChart was introduced to me I had to make sure that all of my doctors knew about my other doctors, diagnoses, medication‘s, appointments, bloodwork, test, results, and so on. Since my chart and also making sure that all of my doctors and specialists are all in the Nortons network system, my life has vastly improved. I no longer have to wait extended periods of time for blood test results to come back and to wait for my dr appointment to get the, because I can see them on the app. I don’t have to try to keep track of my many doctors appointments because I can transfer them from the app straight to my calendar on my phone. I don’t have to worry about a provider prescribing me a medication that I should not be taking with a medication possibly prescribed by a different provider. I don’t have to give my entire health history which is very long and extensive every time I see new practitioners. All of that makes my life easier, and feels like a blessing to me. I feel more secure about the care that I’m getting, and I love that all of the people I have to see are on the same page concerning my health. If you’re asking for a five star review, I would give MyChart at 10.
Sincerely,
Olivia

I use this app for over four different medical facilities that all put the results in my chart. The problem comes when you are switching between devices and the passwords are not syncing up in the background to the websites of each one of the medical facilities. You should be able to change the password or the way you sign on and it be consistent throughout all four medical facilities, or however, many facilities you have. There is nothing more frustrating than having two different passwords on two different devices and two different ways of signing up to all four medical facilities. The other complaint I have is about printing. My doctor just sent a letter and put it in the portal under letters, but it is in bedded and there is no print button in. This is a problem elsewhere in the application as well. Every screen should have a print icon available. There’s nothing worse than having the information available to you, but not being able to print it to Hand to other doctors or facilities and have to read it off.

I’ve worked for the U of U and I’ve also been a patient for the U of U healthcare. MyChart is the easiest, most efficient way to communicate with your provider and your healthcare team, to communicate with you. I always encouraged patients to use MyChart instead of relying on telephone calls. You see, if you don’t use MyChart and only communicate via a phone you will have greater wait times when you are expecting a result for a test, an answer to a question, or a prescription refill request. We are not allowed to leave any info on a voicemail so all you’ll get from a missed call is the name of the person calling and a callback number. With MyChart you will get your answer or results with the first correspondence. It’s secure and so easy to use. You get a text notification whenever anything new pops up so it’s hard to miss a result or response from the provider.
If you rely on the phone remember that if the medical staff calls you and you don’t answer you go to the end of a very big line. It can take 2-3 days before you make it back to the front of the line.
MyChart allows you practically instant access to your results. It’s a godsend for both the patients and medical staff. I highly recommend it if you want an efficient way to communicate with your provider.

My ONLY problem with MyChart & the reason i gave it a 3 star rating instead of 5 is because the MyChart service charges to Dr’s offices is NOT on any kind of sliding scale like it really SHOULD be for smaller Dr’s offices. My local primary dr who just has a small practice could never afford to pay the same amount for using MyChart’s services as a large hospital or large practice with numerous Dr’s working in the same building. If/when MyChart adjusts their fees some day to make it fair & affordable for every Dr & i am then able to use MyChart for my primary Dr i would happily do so & change my rating to 5 stars. 😃
I absolutely luv the convenience of my chart! For someone like me who is disabled & has 5 dr’s simply having the ability to send a message to any of my dr’s thru MyChart & actually receive a timely reply is absolutely awesome!! Saving time & paper all at the same time by having my medical records, medication lists, e-checkin b4 you get the appointment, & numerous other conveniences makes it feel like dr’s have finally let us usher in the modern tech age a little bit for dr’s & patients.

Sudden inability to login and it has nothing to do with my login credentials. I’m using an iPhone 12 ProMax. Currently updated. What the heck is going on? I’ve already talked to IT managers at Kootenai and they all say it’s on your end, so don’t deflect. They disclosed that a huge influx of users are all having similar issues following Epic’s last update. The MyChart app, in its current form, is inaccessible, hence, unequivocally useless. Keep in mind that you’re messing with peoples’ medical info and fundamental ability to set appointments and fill prescriptions — so you need get this fixed right away. Error: “We could not log you in right now. Please try again.” Over and over in perpetuity. And if it does let you in (it did 2-3 times in the beginning, but now there is Zero access) there’s a constant reload prompt because half the timeline data and files are missing. I’ve already deleted and reinstalled the app directly from Kootenai’s web portal AND Apple’s App Store on my iPhone, so don’t bother telling me to do that. I have also soft and hard reset my phone at no avail. Yes, I can log into the website, but what’s the point of the app if that’s my only access? To sum things up, it’s your ridiculous, substandard app that is so bugged out and glitched that it doesn’t work. Honestly, I don’t trust my data on the app, and trust me when I say that I’ll be taking this to my next board meeting at Kootenai.

Version 10.3.2
While MyChart offers many good features to patients, it is riddled with flaws that make it less than dependable for medical information. Apparently, Novant has multiple info systems that should, but do not link to each other. The user interface also buries some important information deep in its menu system. A consistent error that has yet to be fixed in 2 years is when a user tries to add an appointment to their calendar. For reasons, unexplained, the app adds the appointment to the calendar at GMT rather than local time thus setting the appointment at the incorrect time in every instance and it either needs to be manually adjusted or the patient will miss their date. I’ve brought this to the attention of multiple contacts over the past 2 years but nothing has changed. The e-check in is easy, but I’m constantly asked the exact same questions when I arrive at the appointments. The data is apparently not retained across Novant databases either. While I have been retired for over 5 years, and having multiple appointments since retiring, the Novant system recently showed me as still employed full-time. The whole system is so sloppy I can’t consider it as a reliable system. While I do use it, I still keep separate records.

Version 10.3.2
This app is excellent for getting communication back and forth with your physician and office staff, as well as allowing you to read comments on your conditions, test results, upload shot records and other information quickly. You can schedule appointments and make adjustments as needed. The ONLY downside I’ve found is that I had a hassle with my FSA company who said paying my bill through MyChart did not give them enough information to prove that the service I received was really through a physician or their healthcare facility, and wanted me to provide a bunch of other information to them. I couldn’t, as it was an online electronic payment, there was no receipt generated for me proving it was through a medical facility, no title, address, logo or other thing that would satisfy them. So I have to resort to writing checks with the paper bill insert and they will approve that. I wish there was some way the app could have more medical info/logo or some proof that would satisfy the FSA so I could pay through the app, it would be so much more convenient. Other than this, the app is great and meets most of my needs.

Version 10.3.1
My prescription information should be able to be updated by my general practitioner and my general practitioner. The application cannot be updated by either professional medical source that either prescribe or disperse my essential drugs. CentraCare, the closest hospital, in Central Minnesota can only control the information if I bring in information from either above mentioned source. On my own, as the middle person, could easily tamper with the information making it a dangerous practice. But the application allows this practice through the apps controller. CentraCare should be able to communicate as health practitioners with my providers. So, in short, I am forced to use MyChart. Please check with your primary health source (or other practitioners) and your pharmacist to see if they can send updates directly through the application to the party that controls MyChart. The application should require the manager to directly receive medication information with this vital health function in case of an emergency. I do not recommend this application unless these professional health providers can directly communicate with one another. Anything short of this direct, professional communication is dangerous in a major health event using MyChart by its controller.

Version 10.3.1
I find this very highly efficient way to communicate with my healthcare givers.
If there is a a problem or concern that is not an immediate emergency, I can send pictures comments and questions about the subject matter and know that appropriate staff will forward this information to the appropriate person. This gives them time to assess what it is I need to know about or advice I may need before contacting me to deal with the situation. The alternative would be to call the office, discuss the situation with whoever I’m connected to and often times the information is not shared with them until the end of the day or in between patient care visits with no additional information for them to make an informed opinion before even talking to me. Whoever reads the mychart information can decide if it needs immediate attention or if it can wait. I feel my healthcare providers and I are given the opportunity to voice concerns and feel that I am a part of my care which is important to me.

Version 10.3.1
I love how easy it is to access my family’s critical medical information like lab results, MRI & X-ray findings, upcoming scheduled appointments, previous visits with our doctors, medication lists, request refills for our medications if unable to get to the pharmacy, viewing doctor’s after visits reports & follow-up notes (we can print hard copies for our children’s medical records for their special education files at their schools; “They” can’t claim “They” didn’t know!), and doctor’s letters for excused absence from school/work due to appointments or ER visits. You can also request to schedule appointments through the app, and connect via Telehealth/Zoom doctor appointments, too.
However, my absolute most favorite element of this application, and in my opinion the genius idea behind this application’s creation, contacting your healthcare providers with the utmost of ease, and getting a response from them, their team or office generally the same day or within 24 hours! Then being able to print that response in a hard copy for our children’s health records, again for school, is the absolute best thing I could ever have asked for in a medical application! What more could you want from this application?

I’ve been using this app with LB Memorial Med Ct and found it very useful but limited in what the patient could add information. I find it very useful to keep track of procedures/ tests and reports but only done at that specific site or campus. But it’s limited to the facility that you’re using it. I’ve used other apps that let the patient update vaccines & other tests they’ve had outside of their facility with the notation “added by patient”. This would make it easier to keep your information updated and available to share with your doctors. I’ve tried contacting my Medical Center and they say the doctor’s office has to input that data but we all know how short staff everyone is so that’s not going to happen! Why can’t this App add a section specifically for Patients Remarks?
Then we could keep everything in one place. And we need to be able to REMOVE “Reminders” not just “Hide Them”because they pop up again in a month. I’ve had my check up, my vaccines, appointments but they remain forever on the LIST OF REMINDERS!
Is there any way to add that Patient Remarks section? If so, I would rate this 5⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Overall excellent except for AARP Medicare from United HealthCare tracking.

While it is UHC’s change of processing claims office with new Group number and Health ID, it is the same insurance as all year except the Medicare UHC card had old processing off info. So, chaos happened when using only UHC card I had as they had not sent out the new cards yet and did not tell me or the doctors that the old processing office was no longer sending the claims along to the new office, the old UHC Provider processor was just deleting the claims! When I first got bills and saw on MyChart no coverage and called my customer service number, UHC customer service could not even find the claims! Many calls of two or more a week, most claims are found at new processing office after re-submit an email to the new POBox etc. and although the doctors “bill collectors” say this is on hold, in que for processing at new office for what MyChart say is way past due…. MyChart still says not covered and I need to pay—-inaccurately! This is causing me anxiety no matter how many times I call the doctors’ billing office and am reassured it is still processing and UHC says all claims have been paid! While it is UHC’s slow new processing problem, I would MyChart to correctly reflect what the doctor’s bill collectors say is the real status…re-submitted and processing with corrected insurance coverage office.

I am very thankful that I have the information provided on this site at my fingertips almost as quickly as the Dr. It has been helpful for me to look back through my test results over the past months to get a visual picture of my health. I am more apt to control dietary and other medical issues when I can easily look up the facts about my health. The ability to forward appointments directly to my calendar is a substantial time saver and makes it mistake proof.
The ability to message with the staff of my medical professionals has also been a great benefit. I am able to get questions answered in writing, in a timely fashion.
The only portion of the App I have found lacking is the Log In. A number of times, I have had to reset my PIN for access to my account. Now the App will not even accept a PIN. I have to type my password each time I need access to my account. It may seem like a small thing, but either the PIN feature works or it doesn't. If it doesn't consistently work, eliminate the feature.

MyChart looks juvenile and cartoonish and acts that way. The interface is just horrible and it’s not easy to find information. In addition, it doesn’t properly integrate with provider systems. This means that while my office visits show up, important medical procedures are NOT included. For example, an endoscopy or colonoscopy appointment that requires preparation. I didn’t realize this so spent a lot of time trying to confirm my appointment really existed. Further, when a doctor makes a referral and I complete that referral activity (like lab work), it continues to show up as a task to do even though it should automatically be removed once the results are reported since I stayed within the same provider system. I followed instructions to contact my provider to fix it and they tell me they can’t do anything on their end. This means what’s in MyChart is not an accurate record. To me, an inaccurate online record is almost worse than no online record at all because you have to keep checking what’s accurate and why isn’t. Finally, the billing information is also incorrect. I set up a payment plan but when I log in it keeps telling me payment is due now. I honestly can’t believe providers use this system. When I was in another healthcare system they had a different product (or maybe they created their own) and it was much better.

Update your contact information

Hate that it is forever asking me to update my contact info. Always and forever. With no way to get rid of it… For the most part, I like it and it works really well. But wait, before you go, don’t forget to update your contact information. Just in case you missed it, please update your contact info. Now, just to be sure, we are reminding you that this message will never leave and will haunt you till you die, but before then, please update your contact information. Lol. MyChart can take that request and use it for a rectal examination.
Epic responded to my criticism and said it was setup that way by my provider and I should contact them. Thank you for the response and information. We all know how dismissive providers are over abusive hospital billing practices, I really don’t think they are going take the time to correct an annoying pop up message. So, I’ll just have to get over it. Just like I had to just get over the 30k bill I got for appendicitis. At least you responded. I’m adding two stars.

Why do the early check in on the app?

What’s the point of doing the online check-in inside the app? I got notified to check in early before my appointment with my Dr. I thought, how cool! I can check in before I get to the desk and not have to go through all that when I get there. So I took the time, verified my information, my insurance, took photos front and back of insurance card, typed why I was there, answered the covid questions and submitted it. And done. Then when I got the the front desk the two receptionists said ok now that you are here we have to check you in. I said I don’t have to I’ve already done it online. There response? Doesn’t matter we still have to check you in sir. To which I responded. Then what the heck is the point of checking in early on my phone? The employees said that they don’t know. They don’t understand why they have it either or what the point of it is. Also vented about a new system that they hate and don’t understand it either. Sorry to say but when your own employees don’t understand why and the customers take the time to check in when there is absolutely no point to it. It’s kind of stupid! Whomever the decision maker is in these things obviously doesn’t understand or know how it works either.

Penicillin was removed from my allergies. I was told to quit using my EpiPen when stung by a bee, when I’m allergic to bee venom. I brought in my medications twice to woman's family wellness center in Missoula Montana. They never got my medications correct not even when I added or corrected them on the app. “Doctor” I don’t Claire A Frost was the meanest person I have ever met who walked out of my very first appointment with her. I just had my 18th surgery in 8 years. I was, looking for a good general “care” doctor. This is an app where you try and communicate with people who are not healers. This app is biased. This app is racist. It’s sad when you can say the best part about a hospital (Saint Patrick’s) is it’s food. I was banned from defending myself! The doctor lied in her chart notes. Managers wouldn’t call me back. I can’t have children. I am so sick. I am so tired of doing this all on my own. This app didn’t make things easier I was just able to read lies! It took years for me to be diagnosed! Everyone treated me like I was making it up! When I called to try and get into this app I was transferred twice on hold for an hour and not told why I couldn’t use the app anymore. This app treats women that can’t have children like they are not worthy of compassion and care!

Until someone in my community had shared their journey with Ochsner and their ability to communicate via messages and Zoom with their doctors, I was not familiar with the app for Ochsner nor had I ever been a patient there. I’ve currently been going through fighting cancer and was not receiving care that needed in Mississippi.
I downloaded the app; the world opened up.
All the specialists I needed to see were right there at my fingertips suddenly as well as the ease and simplicity too schedule appointments at my desired location/time/provider. In addition I’ve since been able too experience Ochsner and if could give more than 5*, I definitely would be. I had to have an EUS done there; every single individual I encountered regardless of involved in my care directly or indirectly, they ALL showed such kindness, respect, compassion, that I’d not had this kind of care anywhere else. And I mean everyone I crossed paths with and not just on the date of my procedure but also at a whole different location where I went to see my new Ochsner oncologist at Luling and again 5* too infinity more, because everyone right down to the receptionist and the individual working at their tiny cafe was AMAZING!
Thank you Ochsner for choosing employees that are obviously happy to be there doing what they do, I am quite grateful!! Keep up the great work!

The program is cumbersome and not intuitive. Getting a copy of bills to submit to secondary insurance is impossible to get. Having to call so they print it off before I can see it in the program is ridiculous!!! Plus half the time when I call the person doesn’t know what to do and then sends the wrong bills even after the date of the needs were provided. Looks like designers were assigned to different modules of the program and they do not interact well. When working with programmers you need someone to oversee how different modules interact or don’t. System runs amuck if not monitored for flow. Great idea for the program but not easy to search and get information needed easily. Also. When at an appointment, the detail of the appointment disappears until the follow up is completed. This is not helpful at all. Need the appointment visible all the time for details and directions. Email is hard to use, can’t add secondary people to them. Contacts are limited. Responses go unresponded to for days. Have been trying to remove a name from automatically receiving billing messages for months. Why can’t I do this myself? This is my information, i should have control over the dispersamente of it! Overall, great concept , lousy implementation-too disjointed of a robust program.

Love it

This app is great, has everything in one spot, I don’t need to walk away with papers anymore after an appointment as I can just tell them to put it on my portal. I can message my doctors immediately and also echeck-In which saves A LOT of time. Also being able to see all my past appointment and information as well, I can update all of my insurance or medications through the app too. The most important thing to me though is that I am able to have proxy to my daughters profiles so I can easily grab something if needed for medical reasons or need to go back and check something all their papers are there and I can also schedule our appointments through the app and have our tele medicine appointments too (even though I make in person appts because I think it’s more important for the doctor to see you in person) if you can’t make it in and your symptoms are not bad the tele medicine is great. The app is wonderful.
Welcome to new age tech. Just keeps getting better and better.

This app has helped to keep me informed about test results and information on what medication I need to get updated for refills also you can see upcoming appointments. One thing I have also noticed is that the doctor’s office uses this as a wall to slow feed information to me about medical treatment questions. In the past I would call in they would pass any message to the proper person to handle the questions. With this app they want 48 hours to respond and a lot of the time this process causes more questions than answers because there is no one calling you to make sure they are properly understanding the question or questions because the app allows them to hide behind the wall of the app and answer when they feel like it. It’s like passing information through a crack in a wall and it makes you feel like your talking to an automated system with very generic responses I believe this app makes them lazy and gives them more freedom to put you off. If your use to talking to people in your doctors office this app may change the relationship you have with your doctor and his or her staff. I definitely believe this app is better for the doctors office than it is for the patient. Good luck

Terrible and horrible person to do that she seems so angry that she did the most painful test in my life!!! That I have to write this review so they can tell the nurses or PA that being in medical it’s there job they should be compassionate and patience with the patients . Specially the person who tested me until now I can’t get over to what she did to me !

I continually experience difficulty finding information on MyLaheyChart. The latest instance was when I received an email indicating I have a “New Message in My Lahey Chart account.” I logged on to MyLaheyChart and found a note indicating I had a message from my doctor. I clicked on it, and when the Message Center screen appeared, there was an entry in the Conversation section from my doctor with the same date as the email titled “New After Visit Summary”. When I clicked on that entry, a note was displayed stating “…Please click on the visit section above and the corresponding visit date to view your after visit summary…”. I clicked on the Visits section and then clicked on the View After Visit Summary option for the most recent appointment with my doctor and, under Appointment Details it read “No notes exist for this encounter.”. At some future date, without any additional notification, the “After Visit Summary” and “Notes” finally appear on my chart.
“After Visit Summary” lists the technical results of the visit. It is the “view notes” from my doctor that provide me with the relevant information that allows me to understand the results of the visit. I feel the system needs to change so it will send out email to patients advising them they have results of their visits only after the results are actually posted.

Breast Cancer has been no walk in the park. But from the beginning of this ordeal, I have found reliable and secure communication and information regarding my treatment through MYCHART. My appointments are scheduled, confirmed and if needed, changed, via MYCHART. I’m able to message my doctors and receive prompt responses, view test results and images, check my balances due, make payments and so much more. I even share important information with my son, saving me many calls and explanations. I have friends and family in West Texas and they are, for the most part, in the dark about their medical situation unless they are at the doctor’s office or have received emails providing info. They are very impressed that I can login to MYCHART and access my doctors, nurses and volumes of information. Even though I’ve had a tough 2021, it’s been comforting to have a talented team of doctors from MDA and MYCHART to relay information to and from my providers. In short, it’s convenient and IT’S GENIUS!

I’m having a mastectomy and it keeps telling me to get a mammogram. I already got mammograms before and need to remove that and Cant. It clogged up my patient info so that I didn’t get a call back promptly for breast biopsy Followup. I was told to come back next years by office staff because they thought I wasn’t taking tests, non compliant etc. I don’t know why but I expect it’s the computer program blocking pertinent info about a patient and clogging the system with inaccurate info. System gets bogged down and becomes confusing to everyone. There needs to be an easy way for someone to update symptoms and procedures. Having a computer network like this is essential and can save lives so I appreciate it but keep working on making it more efficient and responsive. There should also be a confidential area that requires another password and a notes area. There should be a way I can enter information without having to scroll through ten pages and then given a small box that is not bug enough for info. I would like to enter info about the previous surgeon and hospital I have gone to and there should be an easy way to do this. There should also be a security aspect to it if someone does not want a specific person to visit them in the hospital or to have access to them.

So not impressed

I already have the Molina healthcare app which I’m already supposed to be able to do all of this on but now I have to eat up more space on my phone to download yet another app. It isn’t user friendly at all and kept asking me the same questions over and over. I was told with urgency I needed to set this up and answer a questionnaire. When I tried setting it up it asked who my healthcare provider is but they aren’t on your list of providers. I contacted y’all for help and then was told to worry about it later. So which is it? To top it off I’m not sure when my actual appointment is because I set it up for one time and the girl that called gave me two different times from that one. Honestly, get it together! (This doesn’t bode well for faith in a system I already don’t trust.) I honestly don’t trust telehealth appointments because 1) I’m not seeing an actual doctor just a nurse practitioner and 2)I don’t understand how you can diagnose anything accurately without actually examining me. This just doesn’t seem like good healthcare to me but a shortcut to save a buck. For example, I’ve had lower left abdominal pain for the last month and a half, so how do you plan on making a diagnosis without any diagnostic testing? I really have no desire to do this at all but was told it was a requirement of my health plan so we shall see. I’ll give it a whirl and get back to you but so far I’m not impressed in the least.

Response to developers
Shame on you for trying to blame this on my health network. I already talked to my health care providers network, and the fault lays with MyChart. According to my health network, this transfer has been a disaster for them. They have to apologize on your behalf because MyChart has screwed thing up so bad for so many people like myself. I have already contacted MyChart about my situation, all I get is a boiler plate response of wait 1 to 3 weeks. Well it’s been 4 1/2 weeks now and still nothing. The impression from my health network is that this is not what they bargained for when they opted to use Epic’s MyChart. All of Epic’s MyChart medical apps in the Apple App Store have low user rating. This is indicative of poor product quality.
Mission Heritage left Follow My Health app for this garbage. Due to the switch over to this app, I can no longer use Follow My Health and I can not use this app because they do not have any of my information. This app is absolutely useless for me and my family. Why on earth would someone shut down the use of the FollowMyHealth app before the “new and improved” MyChart app is ready to use? This app really screwed thing up for my family. The way this transfer is going screams incompetents.

The basic concept of this app is good but the execution is terrible. It’s another example of apps being written by computer people out of touch with real life. Unfortunately this isn’t a dating app or other social media plaything, this app involves people’s health and medical treatment and it’s not something medically inexperienced computer geeks should be allowed to play games with - an especially sensitive topic during times of a global pandemic. What’s also unfortunate is that, unlike game apps, we can’t simply choose not to use MyChart, it is the ONLY app where we can see our medical records and interact with our health care providers in a world where face-to-face contact is becoming rare. That thrusts a huge responsibility on the makers of MyChart, one that they all but fail at. The user has zero control over the privacy and accuracy of their medical records or anything else for that matter except the silly option of choosing the color of their screen background. The makers of MyChart hide behind a veil of secrecy, there is absolutely no way to contact them for help, issues, legal matters, etc. They have a monopoly and they are in severe need of government regulation. Our healthcare is too critically important to play games with.

Great but NOT user friendly

The app is great for keeping up with my appointments, communicating with the doctor, refilling prescriptions. However, when it indicates that there is a new message, I’m not sure which message is new unless I look at the date. My inbox reflect that I have two messages. When I click on the inbox tab, nothing happens. It would be nice if when I click on it, it go straight to the new messages and the indication of “two new messages” disappears reflecting that I have read the messages. It would also be nice if there is an indication of some sort to show that there are new messages and which ones are NEW.
In regards to the “to do list,” it would be ideal if I could decline the options or have a yes or no button or something to show that I don’t need to do what it’s indicating. For example, my dental office is totally different from my primary care physician and they keep telling me my dental appointment is overdue. I wish there was some way I could tell it no or not applicable. Additionally, it keeps telling me I’m overdue for an influenza shot. I have never, and will never, get one so to be able to decline or simply say “not applicable” would be great.
If these minor disturbances could be fixed, it would be a five star app for me.

Could be better

This app is great for a number of reasons besides checking test results and appointment reminders. •Through the app I can email my doctor directly, (very often they or they’re nurse will respond within a few hours so I assume the app makes that easier for them as well. •The app has a list of my meds (accurate only if you reported it accurately to the doctor) and provides an easy way to ask the doctor for a refill.•I can request an appointment from a established doctor •I can view and even pay my bill. All of these are things I can do securely through this app. It is very useful. What I CANNOT do is make notes. Currently I use this app only for check appointment times and the occasional email to the doctor. But I would use it weekly if I had the ability to make private notes. A note associated with a recent visit. Notes on possible drug benefits or side effects as I experience them. Notes on questions to as at upcoming appointments. Associating these notes with the drug or appointment or doctor directly within the app; helps keep me organized and would improve my healthcare as it makes it more likely I’ll remember details of a visit and concerns I need to bring up at the next visit.

I love this app but I need a lil help from developers please

I have been using MyChart from its conception and have never had an issue ever💝💝💝💝 I go in and play around with it every now and then to see what is new. I do know that if you want to change anything important in your chart like your personal information YOU MUST DO IT FROM THE WEBSITE. I am guessing that is to be sure it is a secure location to provide personal information for HIPPA. Not positive but that would be my guess. My only issue I have is I just read on the website that I can now link my 2 charts together so I do not have to keep signing out of 1 and signing into the other for information needed. I just cannot figure out how to "LINK" both of MYCHARTS. Can you please help me with this???? It is really annoying getting a message from my doctors and I go to MYCART and I sign in and ugh it's the wrong 1 every single time😡😡😡😡 linking them would save some aggravation that's for sure. I already have the app on my iPhone where they both are on the app just need them linked and I'm all set.
