Solid!!!

Excellent explanations, and solid techniques with great camera angles. I love the narration over the sparring sessions. I learn a lot from these, and they hold my interest more. Love the slow-mo on some of the moves. Such a great app.

Sickness!

I have a ton of apps and a few books for BJJ gi and nogi and this one is the best that I have seen. I use killer apps, MMA apps (all of them, iBJJ (very good) and all the Stephen Kesting apps from GrappleArts. as well as Sweeps from BJJ apps and a couple others and this one has the best transitions and game theory that I have seen because the moves are stacked on each other and give you a whole game to play from each position based on attempts and fails and opponent reaction. With a counter to counter style of teaching and great pointers along the way these are like mini seminars on key positions and fundamentals giving some whys and wherefores about common mistakes and understanding the position.
They are expensive and not EXHAUSTIVE by any means because you could spend days on just the Kimura alone or any position but these are a great start and for me being in BJJ for a few years now this was a great eye opener to why a position was failing for me or a particular transition so I found them to be great.
They are however not in the typical format so finding a particular move like the rolling kneebar will be tough since it was under the side mount escapes portion at the 5 min mark and everything is done smooth and at game pace from many angles but it moves quickly. So there is a lot of bang for your buck but if you want nothing more than a moves list this will drive you nuts.
BUT if you want to understand BJJ them this is what everyone else is leaving out. transitions. transitions transitions. That is the name of the game, NOT moves. but flow. How to be constantly improving your position and then submitting from a dominant position. These are great if you really want to learn and put in some real mat time. Enjoy.

Well rounded NO GI app.

This is a great video for all levels of No Gi. Other apps may have more video at a lesser price but the quality in technique you receive from Roy Dean is what you pay for. Thanks for the app bud. Hope to see you at the Oregon Open this year.

Priced too high

Great lessons but $24.99 was not worth it. There are other apps for No Gi that's around $3.99 but have more lessons offered! This should only be priced around $6.99 in my opinion. They better have free updates that includes more moves!

Details

Amazing instruction from basic to advanced. All of Roy Deans apps are great. They may seem pricey, but you use more from this app than any other BJJ apps out there. Quality makes this app all worth it. Bring this to where you train and use it with a partner. Does not disappoint.

BEST BJJ app(s) on the app store!

This guy is a great BJJ instructor.
He teaches very high level techniques with simplicity that anyone can get. The video quality is great. And the app works on the iPad, iPod touch, and iPhone which adds even more value.
The videos are in the app itself instead of being streamed through the internet like some of the other BJJ apps.
It's easily worth the 24.99$ price tag.
Recommended for BJJ newcomers and seasoned practitioners.

Nice, worth it

Very high quality video, audio, clear explanations. I learned a lot out of it and submitted many opponents with these techniques :-)

Great app!

To the point and good explanations. Camera angles are great and picture quality are superb. Overall a great app! I was hesitant on the price but I am very impressed. With everything they offer in this app makes it $40 well spent.
