Wasted my money

It's okay, not very intuitive and gets the student into bad habits, like not being able to identify which Key on which octave you are playing. It's good as a simple exercise for first time sight readers, but I was looking for something more organized

Just what i was looking for

I find this app to be easy to use, yet very flexible and helpful. I've adjusted it easily to my own needs and have already seen positive results with regard to my sight-reading speed. Why isn't this more expensive? Thank you, to the designer.

Great app!!

Fun app to help with sight reading. Worth every penny and then some so long as you stick with it and practice. Great part is you can play this app without sound and still get all the perks of it.

Needs a little work

It's hard to hear the notes when playing the bass cleff, I know it's not essential as you just need to read the notes and play them, but a good update would be nice... also for the screen for iPhone 5 would be great. But pretty good app overall

Review for music notes

As with every great idea there is always room for improvement. I believe this app to be the most forward musical notation training software available on a phone. With that being said this app lacks one fundamental aspect of reading- tempo. Learning to read tempo is imperative to becoming a well rounded sight reader. So now I ask the readnotes team, please find a way to implement a tempo or metronome in tandem with the notation. This would make an already good app truly great. Thank you.

A dream come true!

I cannot believe that I'm finally learning to read music! I've only spent just a few hours over the past few days practicing the treble clef, and already I'm feeling pretty comfortable! I've never found a system that has really made things click for me, this app is perfect!

I'm running ios 6 on an iPhone 4S, and I'm not experiencing the sound issues others are experiencing.

Love it!!!

Great app and great for learning notes on the piano. I highly recommend it. Wish they had this for the Violin as well. Just wish I could do both clefs at once but I understand that the space doesn't allow for that. Seriously love this app and can't complain.

Excellent!

I never learned to sight read until now. I've been practicing with this app and I am making better progress than I ever imagined.

I like the being able to use or hide colors and note names. The colors are a big help when learning and you can turn them off to test yourself.

Wish: Can you add the ability to reset your high scores?

Wonderful

They say it, this is a very good app for anyone, even older children or adults. I try to play vibraphone which is a mallet instrument, but same layout as piano with back bars being the "black" keys. This helps with reading & scales. Highly recommend. Thank you

Ledger Reading Practice On-The-Go

I'm an adult trying to refresh my memory of reading music for piano I never could develop fluency reading notes as a kid. What a difference this makes! Terrific for pocket review/practice. Size of keys is good. Ledger is easy on the eyes to read. Makes it easy and fun to tie position of key on the keyboard with the note on the ledger.

I have Piano Notes Pro for my iPad but this little gem is great for short reviews on the go. Better, cheaper and much more engaging than flashcards. So much cheaper than making blank copies of my note spellers for extra review.

It's alright...

I think if it had thr bass clef option it would be a higher rating but I love learning about the treble clef! Also, am I the only one who has no sound? Cuz it would be a perfect 5 star with bass clef and sound :)

Best sight reading app

I've been waiting for a proper sighting app, and Note Goal is it. It has a clean, custom UI.

Suggestions to make the UI even more effective: If I press play while configuring, close the settings and start the testing. If I click settings while playing, stop the game anf load settings. If i press play (or a key?) while tallying score, stop tallying and start testing.

Dream features: 1. Allow us to use real instruments (piano and other) by capturing our notes via the mic input. 2. Rhythm testing.

Learning made fun

Been a computer musician for over 20 years and never learned sight reading. In less than 3 days I'm already reading cM no problem! Wish it played a "wrong" instrument for wrong notes to better reinforce.

A nice sight reading trainer.

A nice little app that is helping me master the notes above the treble staff and below the bass staff. Simple to use and a nice use of a lunch break.
