“The Cry Translator makes parenting easier. It's like having our son's grandmother there to help when he cries. The Cry Translator has also helped my husband become a more doting father. With this app we are both more relaxed so we can calm our baby down quickly. As a result we have found our son cries less. Peace has returned to our home! (…)”

Your baby won’t stop crying. You’ve tried feeding him, burping him and playing with him but nothing seems to be working. You don’t know what to do and baby can’t tell you what he needs. Or can he?
With the Cry Translator, it takes less than five seconds to find out what your baby’s cry means. Think of this app as a universal translator between infant and parent or caregiver. Just hit the Start button and Cry Translator analyzes which of the five distinct cries your infant is making before giving you great tips to calm and soothe your upset baby.
The suggestions you get from Cry Translator are 96% effective, in accordance with clinical research conducted in a pediatric hospital. These tips are real, valuable pieces of information from a studied, medically proven source.
Naturally, Cry Translator is a helpful tool, not a medical device. If baby cries excessively or there are any concerns about baby’s health, a physician should be sought to determine the cause of the distress. For the five most common and distinct types of infant cries though, Cry Translator is the perfect tool, especially for new parents.
Just look at the features you get in Cry Translator:
* Attractive, easy to use interface
* Identifies the 5 distinct cries made by infants
* Takes less than 5 seconds to get a translation
* Each translation is accompanied by helpful tips and suggestions
* Add emergency contacts from your address book for fast, easy access
* Winner of Medal of Gold at Salon des Inventions de Genève 2010
* Includes tutorial
* Great for new parents, grandparents and caregivers
Your baby is telling you what he or she needs and wants, you just don’t speak the same language yet. Let Cry Translator help. Download the app now to your iPhone or iPod Touch with a microphone, so you’re prepared for the next time grandma and grandpa babysit or you just aren’t sure how to soothe your infant. You and baby will both be glad that you did.
CLINICAL TESTING - According to clinical research conducted in a pediatric hospital in Spain, 96% of babies ceased crying after applying the suggestions displayed by the Cry Translator®. The 4% of cases that did not respond to the suggestions may have been affected by external noise or issues not related to the five types of crying the Cry Translator deciphers. Save your money

Baby started crying throughout the day and when the baby was in discomfort due to having a dirty diaper, it would say she was hungry or bored.

Waste of money: doesn't work

I should have known this was not real. The answers do not work and the app crashes as well. Answers are totally random and not real. Do not buy this.

It’s amazing how accurate it is...

I am assuming those of you who can't get this to work aren't too tech savvy! Works like a charm every time for my 5-month old....the suggestions are common sense but good to see in a pinch when you have a crying baby! Definitely recommended for first-time parents that ARE tech savvy.

Fake

Using this app from two different phones at the same time gives two different results.
Takes 10 seconds of continuous uninterrupted crying, with no background noises to work.

Worst App Ever

Bought this app after a YouTube video suggested it. What a wasted of money. It gave four different results within ten minutes after the first initial result when I tried again. Might as well set $5 on fire.

HORRIBLE APP! FAKE!

DO NOT BUY-DO NOT BUY-DO NOT BUY!!!! Ok. So I think we all agree this is just a spoof app or a gag app. It does not work. No matter the cry it always read hungry for my iPhone 4S. This is not a real app and was a serious waste of money. I thought by the description it would have worked and was a serious app but it is not. Just plain garbage. DO NOT BUY!

Don't bother with this app.

I got this app to try with my first child who was just recently born a couple months ago. When I first tried the app I had an iPhone 3G and the translator didn't work that well but I just attributed to the phone. It took me about 6 or 7 times before it would give me results. Of course for good measure I would see if the results were accurate by trying it again to see if I would get the same results but needless to say I would give up because it would take another 6 or 7 times to output anything. Sometimes it was the same result as the first or it would change. That's about 2 minutes to get the supposed "translation". You're better off going on your intuition because it will probably be more accurate and faster. The app says it takes less then 10 seconds to get a translation but what they don't say it that it does not always give a translation after that 10 seconds. I have tried holding it away and close to the baby but the results are usually the same. I actually get more frustrated with trying to use the app then with the baby crying. Even if this app was free I wouldn't use it. Not sure how this app got medals, prizes or good reviews but stay away because it's not worth the frustration.

Even a broken clock is right twice a day.

This program is correct about 20% of the time; Which doesn't say much when you only have 5 possible options. This is either a scam or the developer has a long way to go. I am very tech savy and this thing didn't help at all. It gives good suggestions for the indicated cause of crying, but rarely indicates the correct cause. Nothing more than a novelty.

Works even for toddlers!

My usually laid-back & jovial toddler has his moments where he's whiny & I've just no idea what he's going on about. So, I tried this cry translator on him & it WORKED! Amazing!!

Awesome app

Seriously all you people that think this does not work must be men or nontechnical!! I am a new mom and love this app. I was over feeding my little guy because I always checked the normals things, diaper, feeding and burping. If all those checked out I offered milk again and he always took it. I thought I was on the right track until he spit it all up. With this app it tells me stressed, sleepy, hungry, etc with no guess work. I love this thing and it has been right more than 95% of the time!! It does say no translation sometimes but that because my little one was not in a full cry. I have recommended this app and all new parents should get this because it makes you a better parent and the child happier.

Cry Translator - Awesome

I bought this app last month, after a friend of mine recommended it to me. It took me a while to get used to place it at the right distance, but after that, it has always got it right, with the only exceptions being the occasions when there was some background noise. I even was trying it with my friends' babies and, hard to believe for them, it was always right!!! I'm still impressed by it's accuracy, and so are my friends!! And so will be you if you have the chance to try it! Really awesome.

Waste of money

I was skeptical when I purchased this and it seems I was right to be. I have had no success with this app at all. In back to back "translations" it's given me very different answers and frequently it's said no translation possible even though there has been no other noises to interfere. I do not recommend this app.

Waste of $9.99

Seriously, rolling dice would be just as accurate. If they really believed in their product, there would be a free trial version, maybe allowing for 20 uses. But then no one would buy it, because it would only be correct once or twice.

I love it ! A great help !

The Cry Translator makes parenting easier. It's like having our son's grandmother there to help when he cries. The Cry Translator has also helped my husband become a more doting father. With this app we are both more relaxed so we can calm our baby down quickly. As a result we have found our son cries less. Peace has returned to our home!

With the latest upgrade a "silence please" message is displayed while picking up the baby's crying.  I used to speak to my baby while he was crying as I didn't realize it was interfering with the program. Now it works perfectly and I love it!

Waste of money!

I bought this app based on hearing about it on the news. I have tried it a number of times on my two week old and each time it has been wrong. I obviously know that when he wakes he is hungry and this app keeps telling me he is bored. Atleast I learned that I should have had more faith in myself to figure out my own baby. I would have saved $$

Works Well

I have an 16 month old boy and it works pretty well. At least I have a second opinion to match up against my own gut. He's a little old for the suggestions, but that's not really a problem.

Not bad

I have not had the error issues the other users report. I bought this just for my own amusement, as I can typically interperet my twins' messages through their cries. I use it when i KNOW what they are crying about, and it's always dead on. My kids are 10 months old, though...maybe it's just better for older infants?

Doesn't work

Definitely a waste of money unless they come up with some amazing update. Trying on our four month old, it is all over the map. I can do it ten times in a row while he's crying and the anwers are never consistent. Probably worth .99 for goofing around, but it's not a serious diagnostic tool.

Waste of money

I usually do not write reviews. I am a father of 1 month old and I can tell the reason why my baby is crying most of the time. I found a news article about this app and did not want to buy it but thought let me try and see. First of all, this app is such a waste of money. I tested out several times since I bought this app. I was so fed up when I used it first time because my baby was crying for milk but the app was saying she was bored, then second time annoyed and then again bored and hungry- annoyed. I repeated the test for 10 times atleast and everytime I got different reason. I thought I was doing something wrong and tried to read FAQ's about the app and stuffs like that. I give up now. This app shows hungry when my baby has full stomach and cries for diaper change. Anyways long story short do not buy this crap. As a parent we should know better about baby's cry and should learn on the go. Do not depend on this app for even a suggestion. If you want to use this app for fun then go ahead and purchase it. BTW, when your baby cries, will you attend to her and provide her what she wants or going to open up your iPhone and start this crap application to figure out?

Unfortunately, a flop

I had far more success deciphering the cries of my two year old myself. Usually it lists sleepy, or bored. That's if you can get it to read, which usually takes multiple attempts. As a recent joke on SNL put it - if the baby's crying one thing to try is to put down the iPhone. haha
Bottom line - I wouldn't waste my money on this. Trust your instincts.
