This game is a lot of fun. It might take a bit of effort and practice to get some of the pieces lined up properly, but I think that this game was very well done.

I remember playing this back when the iPhone 3GS was still the latest iPhone. I loved it. But I never beat it and after upgrades I wanted it back. So years later I have now bought it's HD version for my ipad with retina display. For how old this game is, it blows me away. It has gorgeous graphics and it's physics engine is fantastic. It was made years ago and to this day it still looks like it's new because of how well done the game is. I'm so glad I have this on my ipad now. I sorely missed playing it. It's a great relaxing game and is my favorite game on the App Store. I think this game is ageless and will always be an amazing and great game to play. My only complaint is that the laser sound effects take away from the beautiful relaxing soundtrack music. This is also the ONLY game from the App Store that I have ever played that doesn't have glitches. Simply put, AMAZING!
Update: The controls work fine and are easy to use. I don't see how many people have problems with the 3D interface. It's really not that complicated. It takes some getting used to but that's it. People just have no patience it seems. I have beaten all the levels and played through the entire game many times at this point and I still absolutely love it. My favorite phone game ever and probably the only phone game I will ever feel nostalgic about.

Old-Timer Review
I've played Enigmo 2 for years on the computer. I recently found it was available for IOS. I purchased the game for $2 and tried it out. It does the original computer version justice! I look forward to getting as much out of this version as the computer version. Excellent game!

Most underrated game ever-my Favorite game!
...PLEASE release more levels!!! I finished this glorious game in days and am dying to play new levels!
Because of this, I have to concur with the earlier comment of experiencing much more immersive gameplay with the original game. (Even though I have the same level-pack complaint with the original ("kids-levels?!?!!!,") the other custom levels gave me many more hours of enjoyment than the small number of levels in this game.)
That said, this is bar-none the best game I have played and most likely will ever play on the iPhone. It is ingenious, challenging, rewarding, immersive, beautiful (right down to the planets and magestic score)...I cannot give it enough superlatives
Be wary though - this game is for problem-solving lovers. I even think it can be considered a form of an IQ test. I am a software engineer. It has not comeup yet, but I would certainly ask a prospective employee if they played this game and beat it.
Yes the 3D controls have a learning curve, but once mastered they ingeniously solve the logistical placement issues as best as can be imagined... thus once learned, 95% of the time is then spent on solving the puzzles themselves.
Final Note-they picked the *worst* level as the "first true 3D level." I went about it all wrong and was about to throw the iPhone against the wall twisting sliders into barrels! ....Use the accelerator panels at the far back (which have never been introduced prior to this level!) and do NOT cross paths on the two parallel droplet paths! After finding this out, I never had any similar problems all the way to end.

Longtime Enigma Owner
I have owned both versions of Enigma. Enigma has very interesting and challenging levels; and a much improved sense of spatiality. Both versions of the game will have you stretching your horizons and spatial problem solving skills. If you have version 1, version 2 won't disappoint.

no way to mute sound effects
a game with annoying sound effects and no way to mute them in game would be okay if, say, mobile game players didn't listen to podcasts while they played games or have audio shows from youtube. sadly it is 2016 and not 2009. one star because even if the game is great, it forces its audio fx on you for no reason. two dollars isn't worth it to me for forced audio. terrible design.

Great idea, awful controls
you have to place points in 3D space intersecting straight lines. You will spend hours placing your points from one perspective, then awkwardly rotating the entire scene to try and place it yet again in the z dimension. The controls are awful and frustrating, completely eclipsing the puzzle aspect. In essence, the puzzle is in working the controls. Boo.

Excellent, challenging
Really enjoying the 3D aspect of this game, adds a lot more complexity (and time investment) in each level. If you play many iPad games it's not too hard to figure out the two fingers/one finger/pinch controls, even without instructions. Just don't be stupid and not save your game at the beginning like I did. :-P

Great fun until 3D mode keep kicks in
About 30 minutes into this game, it switches to 3D mode, which requires you to manipulate the mechanics in a z-plane. Problem is, the in game instructions suggests you to pause the game and consult the further instructions. Sadly, after pausing, no further instructions are given. So after frustratingly trying to figure out the 3D mode, I eventually gave up. It's a shame because up until that point I really enjoyed the game. Now it's unplayable...

I have spent hundreds of dollars on apps that did not come close to your game! 2, so far seems better that one! I thought that was impossible. THANKS!

Great sequel
Awesome upgrade to the 3rd dimension. Enigmo was very fun, Enigmo 2 takes it to a new level. Looks great on the big iPad screen.
Update: now I'm playing on my iPhone 5 and it also looks good on the retina wide screen! Tried it on a 5s and it was very snappy. Wow, loos great on the iPad air! Good job, guys!

Enigmo 2 is the best of the best!
So this is a very fun game to play if your waiting for something to happen or your in a bus or car. Very entertaining game with puzzles to be solved (and glitches to be found like the floating lazer dot on lvl 50). It's a worthwhile game to get if your looking for something to pass the time away.

Wow what a mind boggling game! It's truly 3D after about the 4th level or so.
You'll be doing bank shots and ricochets at odd angles and all kinds of fun tinkering as you explore and slowly tweak each piece of your solution ramps until it leads the balls into the goal hole consistently. ๐
I've never seen anything like this!๐ It's actually really simple but such an extremely new dimension than any game I've seen. The most amazing part is that the 3D controls are actually intuitive and fairly easy to use! Honestly for how complicated true 3D spatial placement is, these controls couldn't get any easier on an iPhone.๐ฒ๐

The game is amazing and really high tech, I love it! One thing though - the water and laser sounds get annoying after a while. Could you add a setting that allows you to turn the laser/water/plasma sounds off or at least lower? I'd greatly appreciate it and ill give you 5 stars if you do. Other than that great job guys - you did an excellent job integrating this onto the iPad!

Awful; game is fantastic, but this doesn't run past the first level on iOS 5 or 6. I feel cheated. Opening screen also looks dated and unprofessional. My guess is they updated their internal libraries for their old games to run on iOS and just threw this out with no actual on product testing.

Blows Enigmo Away...
Even if it doesn't have it's own custom level builder like the original Mac version and Enigmo Deluxe has, this game is the absolute most beautiful puzzle game I have ever seen. The new 3-D element adds an extra layer of challenge which makes the game so much larger than its predecessor. The music is amazing as well! Highly recommended!

Corrupt game
Something is seriously wrong with the 3D controls. Puzzle pieces get lost into oblivion. Rotating the puzzle becomes impossible, is very jittery, and can not be manipulated. Right now, this game is unplayable when you get to the higher 3D levels. Controls need to be fixed!

Puzzles and such
Enigmo 2 is a complicated and intricate puzzle game. For people who enjoy solving puzzle games this one is for you. No story or anything do don't expect that, but a simple goal in a 3D environment. While the game is simple enough to navigate, it's much too bulky for the small iPhone screen. Be warned if you are considering this for your iPhone or iPod touch, expect to be frustrated at your first 3D level. I hated this game for my phone, when I got an iPad, this became one of my favs.

It is great that they no longer require 5.1 as there was no good reason to require that version of the iOS just the support the higher resolution. That you for the change and please don't require specific iOS upgrades if it is not really needed.
As always a great game that I enjoy playing when the time permits.

Updated review
Update: I rescind all of my previous statements that said the game fell apart when it became 3D. Though learning the 3D controls is at first frustrating, it later becomes second nature and manipulating objects in 3 dimensions becomes easy. Allow yourself time to get used to it and you'll find this is one of the most beautiful, advanced puzzle games out there, way ahead of its time. The music and graphics are gorgeous and adding lasers and plasma makes it better than enigmo 1. I have over 100 good games on my iPhone, and this one is very easily top 5. Get it!
Original: This is a great game, but as soon as the puzzles go from 2d to 3d, (at level 8) the entire experience falls apart from the extreme difficulty of the controls. It's not even that the puzzles are that tough, but placing things in the exactly right place is tedious and borderline impossible. Place in some sort of auto correction so that this is possible to do on such a small screen! Then five stars.

Let me start by saying anyone who does not enjoy this game is by far not very smart. Yes moving the puzzle and such can get hard in some of the more tough puzzles, but there is an UNDO button and its more fun that way so you dont place things so close togheter. This is by far one of the best .99 investments around.

The icons are too small, and the environment color is very similar to the pieces, it will be better if you could lock the piece so you won't erase by accident, It would make the game fun; if 3D angle could be adjust by pressing a key, that you press to default the view, instead of having a full control of changing 3D angle, it would be best if you could just slide all 6 axis angle without any adjustment

Very challenging and great puzzle game
First, I have to applaud the developer with this sequel. The first w levels show some of the new gravity and laser features in 2d, which would have been a solid sequel with enough new elements. The developers went beyond this and expanded the puzzles depth and challenge by making the puzzles 3d.
The pieces can be hard to maneuver at times, but it's not too bad. The puzzles have a lot of variety and offer a significant challenge. In my view this is the best puzzle game in the app store. If your going to buy it, I'd recommend playing the first enigma first.

Not great. I'd rather have my 2.99 and buy a coke and have a smile. This game is worthless to play scrolling around in 3D moves the pieces you already set. Which of course is awesome if your trying to solve a puzzle right! Lock/ Unlock button? How many engineers did it take to make this game. Did you test it for user playability on all the platforms it applies to? I wonder if you guys/gals hold each others hands trying to figure out a lightbulb replacement strategy. Perhaps you should have a meeting about it first! Awesome 3d graphics, music is good for a puzzle, and that is why you get 2 stars!

One serious annoyance
The way they've handled 3d is pretty brilliant. After you get the hang of navigating the levels it becomes second nature. My one grievance is this: why do I have to mute my phone to turn off the sound effects? How stupid is that? Why not just put an option to turn off sound effects like you do music. -2 for the idiotic way you did that. Other than that 5 stars

Excellent Game
Really enjoy this game, have played through it multiple times. I was particularly excited at the addition of Game Center. However, the "Efficiency" award does not work. I have completed multiple levels with more than two pieces remaining and I still do not have it. Please fix this.

Best game ever!
I enjoy playing this game still, after about a year of owning it! The soundtrack is completely amazing! The controls do take a little getting used to, but it's not that hard once you get used to it. Some people complain about pieces not being in depth, but it says clearly in the tip section that if you touch an object anywhere in the screen, the next piece you use will automatically adjust to the same depth. I've never reviewed a game, but I couldn't let this game sit at a 2.5 stars. People rating one star must be CRAZY!!! Absolutely beautiful game with great graphics and enthralling gameplay.

3D needs improvements, but works.
Well, this is a great game. A lot of people are complaining about the 3D and that's this games only flaw. 3D is poorly Implemented particularly in the first few 3D maps. None the less, with the help of snaps they are do able (just much harder then they should be because it's a pain to get the pieces how you want them).
I also suggest making another way to snap to different predesigned 3D angles because moving the camera around in 3D can be a pain after awhile. Maybe a view cube similar to the one Autodesk uses in it's 3D modeling software Revit and AutoCAD.
Lastly, can we have the ability to re-visit past levels? If that's in there not I haven't found it yet.

Ruined My Favorite Game
Simply put, they tried way too hard to come up with a new concept (3D) and it just didn't work. I played the original Enigmo religiously and even liked the first few levels of Enigmo 2 because they aren't in 3D, but when the levels turn to 3D, the game becomes almost unplayable. The controls aren't confusing, but they're sloppy. The pieces often enter in different depths for no reason, which requires fixing, which significantly increases your work load when there are a lot of pieces. They should have left the game the same at the core and added new features and levels without redoing it from the ground up. I don't know what's more disappointing, the fact that I paid $2.99 for a game that I'll never play again, or the fact that my all time favorite App Store game has been ruined.

Fun, but controls are impossible
I hate to give this game only 3 stars because it is really fun, but the controls make it very difficult to play. I'm constantly clicking on pieces when I don't want to, moving pieces when I only want to rotate them and having a hard time rotating pieces to get everything angled just right. But I keep playing it, so the creator must have done something right. Overall it's a fun, if not unforgiving and sometimes downright frustrating, puzzle game.

Good game, but controls can be Frustrating
Played the first Enigmo and loved it. Downloaded this without thinking. Loved the first several levels, but as it got to the 3D controls I had several moments where the controls became more frustrating than enjoyable. Really want to like this game, but seem to spend more time fighting to get my pieces to angle the right way in 3D than anything else.

Looks great, plays good with a caveat
I have the desktop version, and the look and puzzles on the iPhone are identical. There's one unfortunate difference, though: It's harder to place things precisely on the field because your finger obscures the thing you're moving. This isn't so bad on the earlier levels, but when you hit the three-dimensional puzzles, things get messy. Still, for three dollars, it's refreshingly different from a lot of other mobile games.
Feature request: The ability to load puzzles created on the desktop into the mobile version. Because seeing how it plays, I wouldn't wish a mobile level editor on my worst enemy.

I have downloaded just about every puzzle game in the app store and have never been moved to write a review until now. Not only is the game play super addictive but the graphics, and background are for lack of a better word JUICY!! More than once I've lost my bonus points and about ten min of my day just watching the Planets and sparkly lights. !!!! 5 STARS ALL THE WAY WORTH EVERY PENNY!!!

Brilliant! But not for everyone
I must say this app is well done. Alot of detail and time went into making this. But it is not for everyone. You need a ton of patience to master this game. The controls can be a bit hard, and at times I get very frustrated playing this rather than actually enjoying it. It is not easy, it is very challenging. One of a kind game I'll say that.

Enigmo 2 Save game
I have both games and really like Enigmo 2, but it would be nice to be able to save the level you are on when the phone rings. Once you are finish talking and the phone, the app restarts, and the game you have been working on for a while is gone and you have to start over. Please add a SAVE to your game so you can close and start a game you haven't finished and not lose it. I will give a 5 if save game is added.

Frustrating for all the wrong reasons
I really enjoyed Enigmo 1, and was very hopeful that the sequel would be even better. The 3D nature of the puzzles is not really an improvement, though, and instead an exercise in frustration. It's difficult to select the proper objects, or even with the proper objects selected, it's often hard to select movement vs. rotation. The one and two-finger movement through space is buggy -- I've often been warped so far away from the puzzle that it is a tiny dot in the distance; Rotation when you are "above" the puzzle is difficult or impossible. And just by the very nature of being in 3D, finely adjusting the angles and rotations of objects along three axes is incredibly tedious. I've finished 35/50 levels so far, and I'm really dreading the last 15 instead of looking forward to them.
Most of the puzzles are not hard to figure out how to solve, but merely difficult to actually implement the solution, which shouldn't be a struggle. And if you want to do something funky to save pieces for bonus points? It's usually even more obnoxious.
If my saved game progress had been lost at this point like the others' reported, I would have been incredibly annoyed.

It rocks!!!
This game is great! Any reviews that say otherwise should be taken with a grain of salt. (meaning just because others are stupid, doesn't mean you should suffer by not having this game) The controls are amazing. Graphics are unreal. And gameplay lasts a long time. Nothings worse than spending money on a game that gets old after a couple days. Very much a thinking game. Good difficulty. If you're not good at strategic games... You'll be frustrated with this one, so don't get it. But for everyone else, I would highly recommend buying enigmo 1 and adding this one to your arsenal. I can't write enough how much time I spend playing this game! Great job Pangea.

Great Game!!
I really enjoy the 3-D aspect of the game. My favorite part is the plasma and gravitoids :)
The only reason i gave it 4 instead of 5 was there a few bugs that need to he worked out. One is sometimes the controls get very sensitive all the sudden and i loose the map (pushing the view button brings it back but it's still hard to move). Once that's worked out, ๎ต๎ต๎ต๎ต๎ต๎ท

Nice game, 3D is not up to par
Hi,
I love pangea games, and that's why I bought this game. However, I find the 3D controls confusing and couldn't get past the 6th or 7th level. The whole "two parallel lines where stuff should go into stuff" is so cool and yet so unbelievably hard to handle on the small screen of the iphone :-(
on the bright side, the game is very well made and the puzzles seem to be entertaining. I have the first enigmo as well and its a bit better in terms of controls. pangea: don't let this stop you, make more games, you got it!! :-)

Cool but frustrating
I think the 3D is very cool but it can be very frustrating on such a small screen. I imagine it would be awesome on a full-size computer screen. It's also extremely frustrating how fast the bonus points count down. Once you get past the first few 3D levels, I don't see how it's possible to get any bonus points even if you knew exactly where things needed to go because it just takes so long to maneuver everything.

You have to give props to the development skill it must've taken to turn this game into 3D, but successfully accomplishing a challenging development task does not necessarily a fun game make. I got through the first dozen or so 3D levels until I realized it had ceased to be fun. The tedium of moving the objects in 3D turns the game away from just being a mental puzzle and more into being a test of how patient you can be with positioning and re-positioning objects only to have them be ever-so-slightly off as to ruin your whole set-up.

What a disappointment.
My words of wisdom for the Enigmo crew... "if it ain't broke don't fix it", and "sometimes less is more". I enjoyed the original enigmo for it's way it challenged you to make the paths, not how delicately I can manipulate my fingers to get the drops exactly in line. The 3d is stupid, who ever thought of that idea should be forced to mop the bathroom floors at enigmo industries. :)
I work on the cad system all day long in 3d, so I totally get it, but this game was so much more fun without it. Now it's just a test to see how accurately you can position things with your fingers. Someone dropped the ball on this sequel. I was so looking forward to it.

Really tough to play
I was so excited for the new Enigmo that I would have paid $50 for it! However, once I started playing it and the 3D levels came, I was very upset! I loved the difficulty of Enigmo 1 but the 3D puzzles are to tedious for my taste. After I played the first 3D level I have yet to play Enigmo 2 again. Some people must like it, but I am not 1 of them b/c I wanted a new Enigmo 1. Enigmo is THE BEST game for the iPhone, but he second fell short in my opinion. Worth trying if you think you might like it, but it is VERY difficult!

Bravo!
This game is truely awesome! The 3d manipulation and movement is fantastic. Be sure to spend some time learning how to move the objects in 3d; green is forward/backward plane : red is the up/down plane: blue is the left/right plane. Also each element of motion offers the ability to rotate the object in it's respective plane. Once you understand this the game becomes much more fun.
Excellent app!! 7 stars!! And I even enjoy the music.

Level 38
I just bybass the blue shield and get thru it, otherwise not sure how to beat this level.
3D is awesome and it really makes it different than the first one. The only frustration was that zoom can be mistaken as pan. But than i found the trick is that you have to remember to press on with 2 fingers and move only one for zoom. Once you learn this trick you can move around quite easily.
Update: just finished all 50 levels, awesome game overall and the dual plasma level was the most difficult, not the last level. So don't be discouraged and the achievement satifaction was great!

Another hit
Superb gameplay, just like the last one, but with lots of additional challenges. The three dimensions creates a real entertaining (and difficult) dynamic. The addition of lasers and plasma, intermixed with the old game, creates all kinds of physics inspired fun.
I'm going to put this on all 5 iPhones at our house, and can't wait to see my kids getting a kick out of phyics. Terrific job, will do a full review with images soon.

Awesome game!
This game is incredible. I don't know what people are complaining about - the grapics are better than the first, the gameplay is better, and 3d adds a complexity that is expected if you FINISHED the last game. I'll admit that up thru level 12 or 13 that gameplay is difficult to grasp, but by then controls become seemless. They couldn't have done a better job.

Should Have Stayed 2D.
I love the original Enigmo game and as looking forward to a new world of challenges. Started of great - good new puzzles, some element changes and tons of polish... then came the first 3d level.
What a nightmare, the game quickly went from fun, quick little puzzles to a serious bag of hurt. Your objects will inexplicably disappear inside of parts of the puzzle, never to be found by you again (and with new quick "reset items" button to recover your lost pieces) and rotating objects becomes a mess as there's no way to accurately rotate to different precise angles.
Complete and utter disappointment.
I hope they create an Enigmo 3, and I hope they return to the original 2d model. Otherwise, Enigmo will remain "The Matrix" marred only by bad sequels.

Just Plain Awsome!
I don't get what the big deal is with people saying that the game is hard to control. Sure it can be a little tricky at first but after about ten minutes of playing I had it down. This is such a big step up from Enigmo 1. The graphics are amazing and the run great. The plasma is the most fun thing because it orbits arouond that little ball. All in all it is one of the best sequels to one of the best apps of all time.

Awesome sequel
This game I great. I loved the orginal enigmo and this one has the same greatness the first one had and then some. Love the 3d aspect, it's very simple to navigate and extremely intuitive. Love it!!! And to everybody who says that the 3d aspect is dumb, you guys are stupid. Try reading the instructions it explains very clearly how to navigate the 3d levels, any 3 year old could figure it out. So glad I didn't listen to the stupid reviews and got this game, it's AWESOME!!! Thanks Pangea.

Amazing, better than 1
I had high expectations for this game, and Pangea delivered. The game is very similar to Enigmo, with the added twist of true 3D puzzles and a couple of new gadgets (lasers and mirrors, and gravity), which makes Enigmo 2 more difficult but a lot more exciting.
It takes time to get use to the 3D setting. Calm down, rotate your views, and find the axis that you need to move.

Awesome!
My favorite puzzle game just got more intense, more challenging, and a LOT prettier.
The move to 3D seems much maligned here, but I think it works great IF YOU GIVE YOURSELF TIME TO GET THE HANG OF IT. I'm guessing that most of the people here who gave this game a bad review didn't take the time to get over the learning curve, which is steeper than most iPhone games.
I've never had a piece "disappear into the puzzle". And if you accidentally move a piece that you already placed, guess what: you can hit the "undo" button and move it right back!
I really think the complaints against this game are unwarranted, and I really think this is one of the best games I've played on the iPhone. I would've been happy to pay $9.99!

Okay but needs improvement
When I first bought this game I thought that it was great (5 star) until I got to the 7th level (the one before the 3D level) where I noticed that the gameplay was slow and the graphics were not smooth.
When I got to the 3D level the controls were way too hard to figure out without a tutorial, (the tutorial is online and I have web restrictions on my device)
I am playing this on an iPhone 3gs

Terrible controls
I spent 30 minutes in the first 3d level just trying to manipulate the 3d space to place items, yet the level was very simplistic. I couldn't imagine the later levels. Theoretically, it's a unique idea, but the execution of the controls makes this version more frustrating and unecessarily complicated than fun.
I LOVED the first Enigmo, having great pride in beating all of the levels, but this one just isn't fun at all Solely due to the 3d control.
What's ironic is that I've been creating 3d professionally for almost 5 years now. I understand it completely, but controlling 3d space on an iPhone is a nightmare.

Needs work
I loved the first enigmo. For that reason I felt it would be worth investing a few extra dollars for the new one. The 3D aspect seemed intruiging, but it really is the source of this app's greatest weaknesses.
The few first levels work fine because they can be solved in 2D. Once 3D starts up, a few problems begin to surface:
- When pieces are put into the field, they're sometimes at the wrong angles for the current view.
- Trying to alter your 3D view can end up being a task, as the program will sometimes switch between view changing and zoom. This is probably because both functions use two fingers.
- Also when changing 3D view the puzzle doesn't always rotate in a way that keeps the puzzle centered.
If these problems with the 3D environment are addressed, few will remain. Any other problems really are just pet peeves.
Has potential, but currently not worth the money unless you like being frustrated.

Still Needs Some Time in the Oven
I loved the first game and spent a lot of time playing it. I feel that this one however seems to have been released before it was finished.
The 3D dynamic is interesting but I find the controls to manipulate between the dimensions a bit awkward. I'm either zooming in or accidentally moving an object in the field. The graphics don't seem as polished as the last one and why on a game where the music and sounds have little importance can I not listen to my own music.
Hopefully some updates will come out to address these issues.

Great graphics and puzzle, but Hard Control
I really like the new 3D puzzle that you can rotate the camera spherically by swippjng two fingers.
The music is nice and love the planets rotating around in the background.
IMPROVEMENTS AND COMPLAINS:
About the controls. Is there a way to control the x-y-z axis at the same time like a dual analog stick type of control such as those for first person shooter? I'm having a very hard time to realize which axis I'm changing.
It is hard to look at the things I'm controlling when my point if view is overlapping the other ones on the same plane but different at the orthogonal plane.
There is no resume game after quitting the app. I must need to restart the whole level.
