Have you ever been to a baseball game whether it is a little league, pony league, softball, or even major league and was just wondering how fast that pitcher is pitching?
Radar gun not available? With this App you can get a very good indication how fast a pitcher is pitching. Measuring this speed is done with a simple calculation as long as you know the distance.
With Baseball Speed, all you have to do now is tap START as soon as the pitch leaves the pitcher hand then tap STOP when the catcher catches or if the batter hits the ball to get the speed.
If you have ever wanted to measure a pitcher's speed then "Baseball Speed" is just for you. Not only is this app for the fan, but coaches can use it as a great defensive tool to find out when a pitcher has had enough or an offensive tool to let the batters know what to expect.
Little League players really enjoy knowing that they just threw a ball 45 mph or even faster. This app gives them some good bragging rights with all of their friends.
Using the app is simple. You start the timer as soon as the ball leaves the pitcher's hand and stop it when the pitch reaches the catcher's glove or when the batter makes contact. Don't forget to select the CHANGE FIELD button to change from the wide list of ball fields and leagues.

Great
Just one thing I didn't like. When you click "view pitches" you can't just hit "clear" you have to delete each pitch that that pitcher has ever had recorded.

I like
Figured I would review this app again. Needs updated, but I still like it better and the other apps that do similar functions out there. It's cool to review previous pitches and exporting them to view on my iMac. A definite buy for coaches and players. I've sent feedback to writer hopefully I'll get a response. I rated 5 star last time, it gets 4 on my list now.

Great for nephews game
Great app for just messing around with at the little league games. I probably don't use it to the full extent. The guy sitting next to me at this game thinks it is awesome and took my phone a couple of times to check his son's speed. Anyway, to the review below, he should go back to 6th grade because he is wrong, unless he is measuring feet per second.

Simple.should be free
You don't need a100$ radar gun or even this.just get the distance and record how long it takes 4 the ball 2 get to home and divide the distance by time.ex distance 50 feet time 2. Seconds = 25mph. Any1who passed 6th grade should know that.

Great App for Coaches
This app rocks, it saves the pitches and allows you to email them to yourself. I really like how you can review the pitches for pitchers that you have tracked. What an easy way for me to track my players. This is a must have for coaches or anyone that wants to track pitchers.

Cluttered Interface Crashes
Everything is a mess. It reminds me of a cluttered room.
The app crashes every time I try to view pitches. Can't figure out why this app is rated higher than iRadarGun.

Used to be a good app
I really liked this app before I got the upgrade. In this version it says you can add teams and pitchers . I saved two pitchers and one team, but after that when I tried to add a team the app crashed. I also tried to add a pitcher and the app crashed. I was so fustrated and thought something might be wrong with my ipod so I restored it and the same thing happens. They really need to fix this. The accuracy of the pitch is still good and I like the pitch counter feature, but if you plan on trying to save a team or pitcher on this app, it won't work. I was really disappointed. This is exaclly what I wanted them to do but they messed it up.

Very unreliable. Next to a radar gun, it's 10-12 mph off. According to this app my daughter just threw 72 mph.

It's reliant of course on how accurately u ca hit the button to start and stop the timer. Forget any degree of accuracy with guys throwing over 80. You can't sync the pressing of the buttons accurately enough.
