Have used this app for years and have found none better. Flying every week, it is invaluable when weather disrupts the flights. I can determine if I can make connections and if not find alternates.

The original version was great, seems developers hit a "critical" mass and they just keep going to over re-invent again and a again, maybe to sell more "newer and improved" apps perhaps?

Am waiting for an overdue flight. This app does not update the status. Flight now due in at 5:20 pm. This app says due in at 3:40. The Jet Blue site has updated info frequently for the past 3 hours. This site has not up dated for hours. Not reliable site. A real disappointment. Not worth purchasing.

Offers full tripit integration and flight status maps and tracking of flights en route. The UI for adding flights outside of tripit isn't as nice as flight tracker's was and the maps aren't as good, but once you get past that you'll find pretty much all the same features. So, glad I found it and downloaded.

After testing everything I could find, Flight Update Pro is the best. It's TripIt integration is solid, and the user interface is easy to understand and use. Most importantly, it's the most accurate app with full information about all flight details, aircraft, weather, airport terminals, etc. And the app author is super responsive. I would give it 6 stars if I could!

I chose this app when my previous travel tracker died. Flight Update Pro works well, linking easily to my TripIt account and providing useful information about my flights. What really makes it stand out, though, is the excellent tech support. When I encountered a problem with updating my trips, I received a helpful reply within hours and another to my follow-up question. Recommended!

I purchased this alternative to the now expired Flight Tracker Pro (which worked very well). When I synched with a very detailed South Africa trip on TripIt Pro, Flight Update Pro brought in all of the flights but one, which it deleted from TripIt, and also deleted ALL of my non-flight activities on TripIt which I had painstakingly entered by hand (hotels, tours, daily activities, etc). With the trip two days away, I now have to completely recreate our itinerary.

Other than losing all my "previously listed flight data" over the past five years in Flight Tracker, this App provides an excellent reference for travel data. If you travel a lot this App is a necessity in my opinion.

Love this app. Takes a little to set it up to coordinate with trip it... but I like this interface better than trip it.

Working well except if I delete a trip and I also delete it on Tripit the notifications continue to come in to my phone. It's not deleting something on their server. Annoying.

Downloaded another app before I found this one, trying to replace the one that is not longer available. It wasn't user friendly at all. I then found this one to be superior in every way. THANK you for developing such a good app, so EASY TO USE.

The app works very well. Teh biggest shortcoming is that there is no easy way for you to forward your flight information to someone else unless they have the app and have input the data. In the past I was able ot forward my flight information to an associate or friend who might be picking me up or needs to be aware of my arrival time. Ideally the person that has been forwarded the ifnormation could automatically log into your flight information. You can forward the flight information to an associate or friend but they cannot tell if changes in my flight have occureed without my resending a link.

I bought this app because it works with trip it; after flight track pro was discontinued. App worked decent enough first few times but now with latest updates, it has become quite slow. Developer is committed and very responsive, so waiting for him to fix the "new" bugs.

Came here after Flight Tracker's demise. Works very well and I'm very happy with performance. One small bug is that when tracking a flight in a distant time zone (say Europe from PDT) the "time to departure" is not always right even though the departure time is right. Otherwise solid app and recommend.

I was a heavy FlightTrackPro user but was forced to change over. This app improves every day and in some was better than FTP. The best out there and very close to 5 stars.

Developer is very responsive. This is a big plus.

I wanted something that would store my flight schedule, sync between devices, and automatically update my calendar. This app does all.

The GUI is a little bit clunky and without the eye candy I have become accustomed to, but I suppose it is a matter of ones opinion. The notifications seem to be accurate and it has loaded 99 percent of my flights correctly. Also I usually get duplicated calendar events. Not quite sure why this happens.

I used to have Flight Tracker Pro, which I loved. But it stopped working!!! Turns out, it was bought by Expedia, which killed it. Found a review by David Pogue who recommended Flight Update as a replacement. Tried it out today, and found it to be helpful, reliable, and accurate. Tracked a flight my wife was to take to return home. It told me about a delay before the airline even told my wife! We're off to a really good start with this app. Now, just don't sell out, like TTP did and we'll be fine. Nice app!

This App tells you about the delays before the airlIne or airport tells you, so you can get inline to change your boarding pass before everyone else.

Love the way that it auto-updates changed in flight plans!

The new format and information is so much more helpful. Since I travel a lot, it is nice to finally have this information at my fingertips.

Flight Update Pro features not working

Have notifications on. Have push notifications on. Had 3 gate changes, no notification. Departure and Arrival, no notification.

Entering confirmation number and notes in trip detail does not carry over to trip info. Have to enter it twice.

Why one star.

1) Notifications is a feature prominently advertised and missing in action.

2) Having to enter data twice.

3) Purchased on the last day of the trip. App will not let you enter a flight in the past. Half the trip is missing.

Saw another app where the luggage pickup carousel is shown, this app does not provide it. Would be nice but the dings above, especially #1 is a deal killer. Might as well just use the flight boards that the airport provides.

Like everyone else, I used to use Flight Tracker. I switched to this app & it's hit or miss. When it works, it's great but more & more frequently I'm getting a message that it's "unable to validate flights" which means there's no information on the flight status available (yes, I have wifi up & working but also have phone service available- it won't work with either). This means that more & more frequently I have to download the app for each individual airlines to keep track of flights & it annoys me to no end. I can't say I'd recommend this to anyone until that glitch gets fixed.

I like to track my friends’ flights and also my own. My old favorite app for this was closed down. This one leaves a little to be desired in terms of visual design, but the functionality is great! And the TripIt integration makes it even easier to enter flights

Been using your BizX app for ages and love it. Imagine my dismay when I just found out that my old flight tracking app no longer worked. Downloaded this and everything looks so familiar!

This app is fantastic and has soooo much information! I'm a flight attendant and my husband and I have used another app for many years until the company went out of business and I had to find another one so he could track my flights. I stumbled on this and it has basically eliminated the need for 2 or 3 apps and condensed down into one. I'm also a travel agent and have all of my clients trips easily imported into tracker via TripItPro. Worth every penny!

I was using FlightStats before, but their having gone to a model that no longer permits the removal of ads, coupled with some reports of flawed performance, sent me looking for a better flight tracker, and I hope I've found it. I don't have much experience with Flight Update Pro yet; I've only tracked one flight. But the app seems to have done it very well, and based on my limited experience with it so far and the strength of the reviews in the App Store, I'm thinking and hoping this is going to be my default flight tracking app for a long time to come. App keeps getting better and better with every update! The times displayed are very accurate and I travel weekly to justify it.

This app does a great job tracking flights and shows where planes are located. It's extremely useful for helping know when to go to the airport to pick up passengers. It also lets you know of other choices if a flight is canceled or if you missed it because your flight was late.

I recently encountered a problem with this app and got a thorough, incredibly quick response from the app author. You can tell that he really cares and wants his app to be the very best. The app is really good, and a fine replacement for FlightTrack--but the notifications don't seem to work--and I still want a widget!!

Heartbroken that FlightTrack is being trashed. I'm getting used to this, although, as others have said, it's a bit awkward to use.

Really like the iCloud backup, but this should be automatic and not require manual backup/restore.

Finally I have a flight app that works like Flight Tracker did!! It is this app - "Flight Update Pro". With its 'All Trips" screen its giving me the quick and easy access to the flights I need, without undue extra input from me. This is a great app and it's developer is sensitive to the needs of users and unbelievably helpful and open to making ex-flight tracker users happy!! I am delighted finally as this app provides me with the great information - UPDATED - i.e. How long until departure - gates - time between flights - time in the air and my favorite feature for fun - a map showing the progress in the air!! Thank you for this app!! I recommend it 100%!!!

I had a flight tracker... it was wonderful... showed me all kinds of useful and important info... map was in color and showed rain and weather... but iOS passed its capabilities.... so I went on the hunt for a new app... NONE of the 5 I have tried even comes close... the data is very slow to update... information it has is very very limited and in many cases just down right confusing. It does give some info... which is why I gave it two stars... and that I was trying to be nice... but this app really really really leaves me underwhelmed... when my love one is traveling and contact is nonexistent... it is nice to be able to see just where and what... and when there are delays... it would be nice to know why... not really worth your time... but given what's out there now... it's very limited in its usefulness.

I have used this app for a number of years now. My wife is a Fight Attendant for a major US carrier, and this app has proved invaluable for us both to track her trips. Enter the flights once into the app and have it automatically update a shared calendar and all her trips appear on both of our iPhones. Unlike other apps it also updates the calendars when trips are changed. It is easy to enter the data, easy to use and accurate. The developer has obviously paid very close attention to usability, and is extremely responsive to emails for bug reports (of which there are very few!) and even suggestions for improvement. Cannot recommend this app highly enough. Easily worth every penny.

I bought this app in 2009 or 2010, and I still use it weekly when I fly. The app is streamlined and gets the job done. The TripIt integration makes life easy and it even automaticaly imports my flights into my calendar, something that I once tediously had to do manually directly from the airline site. I had some questions about how a feature worked, and I contacted the author, and I received an incredibly detailed message in response within an hour. I was blown away, the author truly cares about his customers and his product.

I don't buy many apps, and there are few apps that I continue to use after 8 years, but this is one of them. I highly recommend this product for anyone who frequently travels and needs a quick flight monitoring app. I'll conclude by saying that this app is incredibly handy when searching for a standby flight. It is so fast and streamlined for finding alternative flights quickly. I'm sure the speed of it has allowed me on a number of occassions to find alternative flights before the masses do, getting me home early.

As an airline pilot I guess you could say I'm a frequent flyer. I live out of base and need to rely on updated flight information extensively for traveling to and from work as well as when actually working a trip. Flight Update Pro has proven invaluable to me time and time again and is by far my most used and most reliable app. The ability to track an inbound flight and obtain updated gate status when having unscheduled aircraft changes or when commuting to and from work is of particular value. Customer support is second to none. In short, if you fly, you need this app. Well worth the money. The latest version 6.30 makes it even better. Nice job.

As a commuting airline pilot, I use this app often. The information available on this app gets the job done. However, it is a bit clumsy to work around. In order to search for the flights on a particular route (which is the main reason to have an app like this) one has to click through several steps in order to begin the search. The instaflight option should be on the home screen. It would also be great if the date selection was in calendar form rather than the scrolling form it's currently in. Over all, it's a great app, and the developer is great to work with. Hands down, this is a great app, with room to improve.

I've used the previous version of this app for the past 6 years. The new version is just as easy to use and has even more features. Definitely worth every penny. Gives up to the minute info about your flights including any last minute gate changes. Really like the customizable push notifications. Beyond the well laid out flight data you can add really specific info and notes about your particular flight so all information is within the app. Great map feature showing real-time flight progress so family members can track your flight. Have my fingers crossed for a future Apple watch app.

Finally! A worthy replacement for FlightTrack, which was retired much to the dismay of so many of us that have used it.

I have searched and reviewed many apps to make a decision and am very happy to report that Flight Update Pro fits the bill. It has a slick interface and is very intuitive. Like any app that is new to you, you have to play with it to become familiar with it. That is with any new app, so don't put much weight on reviewers that don't do that, but immediately post a negative review.

I noticed an issue just today and made a few screen captures and emailed them to the developer. Seriously, within an hour or so, I had a very detailed response explaining the situation and letting me know that an update was forthcoming.

I also made a suggestion based on something I enjoyed from FlightTrack and it was gladly accepted and I was thanked for my correspondence.

Give this a try... I believe it is worth the price. If FlightTrack had charged a small fee, perhaps they might have remained in business. I do feel however that I have found a great replacement and highly recommend this app!

This used to be the best available. The inbound to your gate was highly useful because it would give an accurate time for the arriving flight. With the latest update forcing you to the pro version I would expect the same or better software. Please return the inbound to your gate option as this was very useful for delayed flights. A great app went to average at best. Coupled with only a 3-day window for flight information I often go directly to the airline website to find flight times for alternates. Please extend the window of flights to 30 days for a business traveler. This could be a home run again. Please don't abandon what once was a essential travel tool.

I am a retired airline employee and used "Flight Tracker Pro" so much when traveling or tracking flights when looking for travel options. Loosing flight tracker pro was a big lose to me. After trying several other apps that did not measure up, I am so glad I found "Flight Update Pro". At first it does not seam to be as user friendly as Flight Tracker Pro, but once I learned the differences, it is very close and the developer is open to more changes as suggestions are made. I email a question on a Sunday and was emailed back with in a few minutes with an instruction video on how to achieve what I as trying to do. I highly recommend this app as a replacement for Flight Tracker Pro.

I downloaded this app to replace Flight Update non-Pro version, which I have used since 2008 and which reached end of life a few weeks ago. I am a frequent traveller and rely heavily on this app for gate info and schedule updates. Flight Update has changes well before the airport displays and frequently before the airlines' own apps. I have not seen any of the instability issues reported by other users. It is much easier to use than other apps and is perfect for someone who just wants flight status updates and not an app that tries to sell you flights, rental cars and hotels once it knows you are traveling. Entering flights is easy and I particularly like being able to customize the app with a short list of preferred airlines.

As a commuting commercial airline pilot, I needed a replacement app for FlightTrack by Mobistar that was recently discontinued. Flight Update Pro fills that void and is now my "go to" app for finding the quickest way between two city pairs. Just use the InstaFlight option in the bottom right hand corner of the app. The app has many useful features depending on how you travel. Weather you are a hardened road warrior, an occasional vacationer, or now, a commuting airline pilot, this app can do it all. The best attribute of this app is the company that supports it. The author is quick to respond to any suggestions and/or improvements, and is currently working on some tweaks that make it even better for commercial airline pilots. Great app, well worth the cost!

Just purchased this app as I needed a replacement of "FlightTrack Pro" which I loved. The screenshots look nice but my first use after downloading it was a significant disappointment. Wanted to get a status update for the flight my wife is on and it did not work at all. First it was really not this obvious from a user perspective how to just search and add a flight to track without having to add it as a trip. A simple feature like this should not be hidden under the "Options" menu IMHO. After having found "InstaFlight", again not this obvious this is to search for a flight, for a first time user, I clicked on it, filled out the Airline and Flight number. Then when you click on "Status" the information apparently shows up but it is hidden underneath the keyboard display on the screen that shows and there is no way to collaps the keyboard or scroll to display this information. So in this regard this app is completely useless as with this current version it doesn't seem to support even this simple feature to quickly check the status of a flight that is not defined as a trip. Apparently no QA process at all as this is such an obvious bug that it seems the develpers did really not check if their app works in all aspects. Without fixing this I can't recommend it unless you really don't want or need a simple search of a flight.

I was using this app since it's been released and find it useful, especially sync with TripIt. There a are problems like delayed updates of flight information, the inability to enter into InstaFlight flights that have departed yesterday (which is important for overnight flights), and that when the flight is complete the app 'forgets' all details rather keeps them for further reference. So when I received the invitation to rate it I was prepared to give it four stars. But then when I've opened the App Store somebody already wrote a draft for me praising the app. This is annoying to say the least, and is cheating the App Store to misrepresent what actual customers think. So now I am giving it only three stars.

I've used this app for 5+ years having upgraded to the paid pro version because I liked it so much. However, I increasingly find that the information displayed is inaccurate especially when compared to data available to me to me from Flight Aware - which is free - or from airline websites. For example, right now looking at Delta flight 221, it shows that flight en route and due to arrive in Atlanta at 9:52 PM. In fact, that flight has been significantly delayed and is not arriving until almost midnight. It was easy to find this current status from the other sources I mentioned above. Even the option of showing the "incoming to your gate" info I once greatly valued rarely works anymore. So time to free up some space in my phone.

I travel extensively both domestically and internationally. This app is literally indispensable. It works flawlessly and now that I have learned exactly how to keep my iPhone and iPad in sycn, I have absolutely no reservation about recommending Flight Update Pro.

For the record, I did contact Silverware Support with some issues on how to sync, and I received an immediate response. Great program, great support.

This is a quick update to my earlier review of last year. The program just keeps getting better. My wife and I made a large number of international and domestic flights last year, and Flight Update was outstanding. After our upgrade to new iPhones and iPads however I encounted a problem being able to sync all our devices. Once again I wrote to Scott, the author of the app, and once again received an immediate reply. He correctly diagnosed my problem, and now everything is once again working flawlessly. I can still highly recommend this program.

I would have given this app 5 stars when I first started using it 3 or 4 years ago. It was the first app that I paid more than .99 cents for (a whopping 9.99!), but it was worth the money-until recently. Now, it can't capture gate information (just terminal arrival) for many airlines, so I have to go to the airline or other apps to get that information. Or, gasp, look at the board at the terminal!

The reason I've downgraded it to 3 stars is that it's become glitchier and there's less reliability with the information. It misses some flights, which is a big deal for a frequent flier. I recently added additional apps when I found it less functional. I don't know if the developer has been tinkering with it and "improvements" are the problem (I digress, but Quickbooks is a great example of over development wrecking a terrific platform, too).

I feel that my pledge to date only one travel app must be broken as I search for a new love who can give me the glitz and gates this one used to promise, but can no longer deliver. You got old, love. Time for a trophy app.

I have been a long-time user of Flight Tracker and recently upgraded to Pro for TripIt integration. I love that I get push notificatinos when there are flight changes; you even get gate change notices, which happen frequently while at the airport. TripIt integration means that I don't have to enter my flights manually anymore, which is a big time saver.

I've noticed a couple small issues over the years and written to Silverware. In every case they were very responsive, and in most cases had already submitted an update to fix the problem.

If you fly regularly at all, this is a must have app!

As a pilot for a major airline, this is one of my daily tools. Fast, easy data entry, and easy to read info make this the best app of its kind. I fly about 10 flights every week, and it mirrors my schedule to my calendar for my family to keep up with my frequent schedule changes. Bad weather? Canceled flight? Just search for all available flights, or for a specific airline, it's all easy with this app. Even check to see when the incoming flight will arrive at your gate, or check seating charts before you book. I use it all day, every day at work (gate change notifications!). Better than any app my fellow pilots have shown me. My recommendation is to get the Pro version. For a few dollars it gives you push notifications for gate changes, etc. could save you a long walk or a missed flight. That's worth a few bucks!

This app is bulletproof. Really. Don't believe me? Then check that other five-star review by a guy whose iTunes handle, SteveWoz, is not a coincidence: that is actually Steve Wozniak, and it's instructive to click on his profile and notice that he's bothered to review very few other applications, though he undoubtedly owns and uses many others.

The field of travel-related apps, and even only flight-travel-related apps has become VERY crowded and competitive of late. So it's worth noting that the folks at Silverware have been doing flight software for mobile platforms since back in the Palm days, when the iPhone was still just a gleam in Steve Jobs' eye.

And they do it RIGHT. This app has everything an air traveler - at least, THIS air traveler - really needs, while managing to keep the interface as clean, uncluttered and easy to navigate as possible. Interoperability with TripIt is a huge plus, but even by itself, Flight Update simply rocks. The information you need - or MIGHT need - all at your fingertips in the most logical manner I've seen.

I've used other flight applications, and they all have their good points, but they all seem to spend a while on my phone, until they can't do something that Flight Update can - or do it as well or as quickly. Flight Update is the only app in my "Travel" folder on my phone I can't imagine deleting -- or doing without. It's THAT good.

I spent a long time comparing 5 flight apps side-by-side. In general I found the reported info to be the same in most of them (TripIt app gets zero stars from me). My end goal was to get down to one favorite of these apps, and it was this one. I found the screens and navigation of this app to be my favorites. The right info was highlighted and positioned where I got the results I wanted with the least hassle. Often I could even see my assigned baggage claim as we taxied in. Not all the apps were equal in this regard. After months of my wife watching me have frustration with most of these flight apps, she followed my lead and only downloaded Flight Update Pro. She also travels a lot. While I'm not saying other apps are bad (besides TripIt), how information is presented to the user is important to me. As for getting correct information about gates, terminals, baggage claim assignments, flight delays, etc. this app was on the 'early' side compared to others.

This app is very full-featured, including a button for finding alternative flights.

I fly about three trips a month and my wife is a flight attendant who flies multiple trips at least four days a week. We depend on this outstanding app to keep track of each other's schedules. Our kids call it the LoJack for mom and dad.

The fact that most of the information is available on various sites and other apps is irrelevant when you can have it all in one. I have ran countless accuracy comparisons between Flight Update Pro and about three other apps that I used to count on - FUP was the winner. I have really come to depend on this app and it has helped me clean up my Iphone travel folder. I'm also impressed by the number of new features that get added regularly.

Support - I have been using FUP for about a year and a half now and have contacted support twice. Once for a suggested feature and once for a bug. They responded within a couple of hours each time and were more than helpful. Try getting that from the big software companies.

Great Stuff!

I use this app constantly as a business traveler, and it's without peer. It's quick, easy, intuitive... it's the perfect travel companion. The ability to read from TripIt, which I also use, is priceless — an *enormous* timesaver! Your entire itinerary is not only imported and on your phone, but your flights are updated (including gate changes and delays) instantly, with other flight options.

One bonus: I contacted the company with a question, and the actual software author himself responded. That's incredible customer service, and makes me even more satisfied than ever to have this app.

This past Sunday I was carefully tracking UA flight 608 from ORD to DCA. At 13 miles out, it indicated an altitude of 6,300 feet and 359 miles an hour. At 5 miles out and at 5,900 feet it indicated 345 miles per hour. The last update said 2,500 feet and 273 miles an hour. It landed on runway 01 from the south, so I realize it had to fly south of Reagan National, turn and come back north headed to runway 01. But, a reading of 6,300, above 250 miles an hour. I don't think this could be accurate. And, even 273 miles an hour at 2,500 feet seems strange, considering the rules of speed below 10,000 feet, or has this changed?

Oh, and don't rely on this app and rush off to the airport to pick up any passenger(s). The app said it had landed 33 minutes before it actually landed. But, at those speeds is anyone surprised?

Before you purchase this app and rely on any part of it being accurate, the developer needs to correct some things and/or make a few disclosures.

This is definitely the best flight app on the marker. Though a bit expensive, it's well worth it. I've always found the flight info to be very accurate. Also, the integration with TripIt is a lot more useful than might seem at first glance.

Other reviewers have noted how good Silverware's customer service is. I can confirm this. Responses are immediate and helpful.

Incidentally, the app works perfectly: When I thought that it had a problem, things turned out to be my fault (but Scott, the developer, was nice enough to help me get my iPhone back on track!).

This is a great app! It does exactly what it's developer says. Now I don't fly a lot but when I do I want the best tracker I can afford (it is a bit on the expensive side, but boy it really does perform and I'm a firm believer in the maxim you get what you pay for). I last used it to track my wife's flights as she flew to visit relatives, and it performed flawlessly...even alerting me to her delays along the way. Pretty amazing! I highly recommend. Initially the weather function was not working. I contacted the author who responded quickly to say he was aware of the bug and that a fix would be available soon. It was!

Flight Update Pro is an indispensable app when I am traveling. The ability to track incoming flights to my departure gate has allowed me to anticipate a flight delay before it is even announced and allowed me to make alternative flight arrangements knowing that I would likely miss my connection. Makes the reasonable price of this app well worth it.

The InstaFlight feature allows me to track family/friend's incoming flights, and I can map their instant location for kicks. TripIt integration is extremely useful as well.

I travel a lot for work, mostly internationally, and I have found this Travel Update to work better than others. One week ago while landing in chicago after a long flight from Shanghai it was the first to alert me about my connecting flight cancellation; even before United Airlines did! A week before that it had accurately predicted (more than 2hrs earlier) that my flight from Chicago was to depart 1hr late when the Continental flight info said 30min delay. It allows me to see weather and forecast for both origin and destination; something Trip Case did not. It also takes you to Seat Guru If you tap on the plane info at top of your flights although you have to type in your airline and plane info (so remember that info!). Overall I like it. I wish it could at least allow you to store your frequent flyer numbers and hotel rewards numbers and info so I could have it all in one place.

I, like many of you probably have, looked between this app and its major competitor for many weeks before buying this app and taking the plunge and I've been very happy with my decision. Even when I had a bug, when I emailed I got an immediate response that the bug fix was had already been submitted to Apple, so I know the developers work hard to keep it working. The app is super helpful for loading up entire future itineraries, both for myself and my wife, both of us whom travel extensively. Although the TripIt import works great, I personally prefer to enter the flights myself, which couldn't be simpler. It's very useful to organize by trip, rather than simply a list of all of the future flights. The status updates for me have always been timely, knowing that there are federally mandated delays to location and updating of status by airlines (if they're late) can be late themselves. The interface is smooth, the SeatGuru data is very helpful, and even the little touches like the flag of the country of destination . Finally one of the coolest features is the superimposing of position over Google map, where flight paths data is available. This app is truly the best flight / travel organizing app I've found. Oh, and the Instaflight tracking option is cool when you're hanging out by the airport.

I have used Flight Update Pro for a couple of years, and found it to be perfect for keeping track of incoming relatives and friends, allowing me to know when to leave for the airport, when flights have been delayed and I can wait longer, etc. About a week ago I used it to try and track an incoming flight, and found that suddenly the InstaFlight feature was defaulting to whatever yesterday's date was, rather than today's date. A small but annoying issue...so last Saturday I posted this as an issue to the support team, and to my surprise, they responded almost immediately...on a Saturday! They said this was a known issue caused by the iOS4 update to my iPhone, and that they already had a fixed version of their program pending approval with Apple. And I downloaded that version today, which did fix the date issue. A great program, with great support!

I travel overseas twice a year, and I've tried most of the flight apps. I have found them all to be inaccurate periodically, every single one, but international travel can be a risky business sometimes and you have to use commonsense by using at-least a couple of sources, and sometimes it makes sense to confirm your flights by just calling the airline, however, I keep coming back to this app as having the clearest and most useful flight information on my iPhone clearly displayed on one single screen that reliably updates. For me, this flight app is the best.

I paid $8.99 for this app!!! Was excited to use it immediately to pick up a friend at the airport. The flight status said it was on schedule and the plane landed 11 mins late. What really happened is that the plane departed almost an hour late and was still in the air when this app said it landed. I went to the airlines website which displayed the information accurately. I could have done that in the first place. And because the app said it landed (when it really hadn't) it was not able to give "Live Status" update. Could not find a way to refresh. What is the purpose of this app? Could not back our of trip it with out the app closing itself. If the airline had the info correct for free, and this app was totally off with its info, why on earth would someone need this? What a total waste of money. The online help tutorials were not a big help at all. I hope the developers look into this and respond to me. I really do feel I was taken advantage of. I hate feeling this way.

I fly some 300 flight segments a year oon numerous airlines and Flight Update has been an invaluable tool. It lets me instantly check my flight itinerary, know which gate to go to, if the flight is on time, where to pick a seat, instand contact with the airline, etc. Before Flight Update I had to use several websites after booting up my laptop to get the same information. No more searching for an airport flight departures status board during connections, just check Flight Update on deplaning and head right for the correct gate. Could not live without it after the first use. Highly recommended!

I have tried them all...and many are helpful and effective but I keep going back to Flight Update Pro. As a hard core TripIt user, I appreciate the update capability (though I would like to see the option for auto sync when I start the app) and with the addition of puch notifications in version 4.1 (submitted for approval now it is my understnading) it will have the full spectrum of capability that takes it from a 4 to a 5 for me. I have read the other reviews that have had problems and I have been using this application for more than 12 months and 175,000 air miles flown with none of the issues cited. So...if you are road warrior looking for an able partner to TripIt (which I use constantly) this is the one I would choose.

I don't travel that often; however, my spouse travels almost every week of the year! I absolutely love the fact that with this app, he's able to send me his current flight arrangements. It gives me his location, time of departure and arrival, and gate number. If there have been any delays or changes, he's able to send me an update. With the map feature, my children are able to track him while in flight - great educational opportunity! With this app, I'm now able to keep all his future flights stored. I feel so organized and connected now! Great app!

I’ve tried a few flight tracker apps (including the best selling one) and in my opinion, this is the best of the bunch.

Let’s start with the layout – this is very clean and easy to read. I like being able to create and name each trip. The little touches like a numeric keypad when entering flight numbers is appreciated.

This has almost everything you want in a flight tracker – flight changes, weather, seat assignments, tracking with google maps. You can email your flight info, which is helpful too. The only thing missing is push, but I would be willing to bet it’s on its way.

I also really appreciate a developer who is responsive. It’s obvious he is trying to make the best flight app in the store and listens to his customers.

The flight data is coming from the same system as the other apps, so that’s not a concern when choosing.

As a flight attendant who lives out of base I was looking for an app that would give me updated flight information for my commute to and from work. Flight Update Pro turned out to be the perfect app. The ability to track inbound aircraft status along with a map function showing exact location and ETA has proven to be invaluable. Additionally I use the app to provide connecting gate information and flight status to our customers. As travelers, if you get the app yourselves you won't even need me for the information. Ha Ha. Seriously, it's a great tool.

Recently my wife and I were traveling on a multi-stop flight and were delayed at an intermediate destination due to a mechanical failure on the plane. The one-hour delay caused a huge problem because we only had 55 minutes per the schedule between flights. It appeared that we would miss our next connection and wait at least 6 hours for a subsequent flight.

When we landed in Denver, I immediately switched on Flight Update Pro which first told us that our connecting flight was delayed, and also us exactly where in Terminal C we had landed and which gate in Terminal B we had to reach. Suffice it to say that we rushed through the airport, took the train between terminals, and were able to make the flight we thought we would never make. If we had not had this information as we were exiting the aircraft when we landed, we would have waited over 6 hours for the next flight. Thanks, Flight Update Pro!

I'm a frequent flyer, mostly throughout North America, and this app is without question the most important tool I have for flying. With the crazy weather, the layovers, the delays, etc... I can always count on Flight Update to give me the information I need to make decisions on the go anywhere in N.A. As for service, I had a specific question for the Company, emailed them at 11:00 PM EST, had my answer and more by 7 AM EST --- Thanks Scott you guys ROCK! BTW, I don't work for Silverware Software or any affiliate company of theirs, this is an unbaised review by a user that REALLY does use and rely on this App.

This app is very well designed, and I use it constantly when travelling. The flight status screen is very easy to read and well laid out. The ability to check for alternate flights and airlines from the status screen and the ability to see when the flight inbound to your gate is arriving is great. So, if you're sitting at an empty gate and not sure if the flight will be on time, check the "Incoming to your gate" and see when your airplane will be there. And, if your flight cancels and you need to find an alternate flight, "Today's alternates" is available from the same screen. All very handy and in one app. Great app...

I really love this application for its abilities to check gate status and other features, however the map function is really in need of serious work. Recently I tried to track the progress of two flights from Seattle to Indianapolis. If I open the flight segment and then click on Map, a map of the US displays. I have my app set to update manually so when I click on the refresh button it updates the map and then promply crashes. No matter how many times I try this the result is the same. In order to check the flight progress I must reenter the application and check the map function to see the status. This truly should not be happening to this app with so many other valuable features. I hope that the developer sees fit to fix this problem

Any app that reduces the hassle of travel is useful. An app that does so with features that make you say "that's so cool!" is truly worth owning. I bought and used Flight Update in Dec '08 because it provided vital up-to-the-minute travel info and I truly appreciated it. It's Achillies heel, however, was that it was somewhat cumbersome to enter flight info into the app. Flight Update Pro and Tripit solve all of that. Toss in some extra nice features like tracking of flights inbound to your gate, quickly finding alternate flights for missed connections and map-based flight tracking and you've got a ton of useful travel tools all right in one app. A definite must-have for those who like moving efficiently through airports.

I had been a user of Flight Update for a long while, I fly every week and this application really works quite well. With the addition of TripIt it is even better now, saves me a few keystrokes. Understand that there is nothing that really is 100% accurate because often the airlines themselves don't have a clue what gate you are landing at, etc. It works the best of all these type apps, just keep in mind that it really just consolidates information from a number of other sites but it does it well and with synching with TripIt now in place and working well--for a serious traveler it is well worth the money. Wish that I did not have to pay to upgrade from Flight Update to Update Pro but software developers got to make money like anyone else, the price for this application is more than fair.

I've been using Flight Update Pro for about a month, and so far I am really enjoying it. I check it religiously immediately before I get to the airport to check gate status. Don't rely on the SMS test messages you get from the airline - Often times the gate has changed by time you get to the airport. And, if it is a large airport by O'Hare, you may have to walk across terminals to get to the right one. Use this application and you'll always have the latest flight data in the palm of your hand.

I've also had great support from this developer, and they are top notch and care about their customer's feedback.

The TripIt integration makes it easier than breathing to get your flight information into the iPhone. This app is also helpful for friends and families of travellers. If you want to know when Dad. Mom, travelling daughter or son will arrive (or is on the ground between flights) this is the perfect tool. The map function is a nice add on.
