It works well for me
I was worried in the beginning about the “software thief” thing, since one person mentioned he thought it was related to multiple iTunes accounts, and I do use multiple accounts. Luckily, this does not seem to be the reason, or the vendor has fixed the issue. I have not seen the strange message so far, and I like the app.
I have always liked the style of the Longman Dictionary, including its way of marking pronunciations and usages. The new app does not disappoint, and I like to be able to hear both the UK and US pronunciations.

Deserves
Few suggestion:
- the apple built-in dictionary should be used when press any word for search to translate to other languages.
- Make it rotate on the iPhone or iPod touch
- Add advanced words that the IOS Dic finds sometimes and pops up
- Pronunciation of the adjs. and Adv. Should be there ( I'm nonnative)
I gave it 5 star because my conscious lefts me no other way.
Its search bar for conjugation and part of speech is incomparable.
When you write a word incorrectly it will show you the nearest ones to it and this makes me use the dictionary when I am watching news or movies or any time else.

Best ever!
The best dictionary of English here in the store. For all the English learners no matter how much you have gone so far as well as for the native speakers who want to take most of it. Helps me a lot, gives all the definitions that are clear and easy to understand. Full content of the printed version. The best dictionary interface. Overall, great app!

I cloud sync between devises is not working at all.
It was announced a few versions back but never worked! The support is terrible. Even after claims to iTunes they are replying unwillingly after reminders, dawdling and being dilatory. If you need the iCloud sync do not buy it. The feature seems to be not existent and the app description is deceptive. Though, nobody cares.

latest version acts like a virus
This used to be a good app. Today it just crashed, gave me a message that I'm a software thief, and then posted a similar message on my twitter account saying that I've decided not to pirate any iOS software anymore. This is absurd. Apple should pull this app out of the app store. It's behaving like a virus.

First of all i want to thank you for creating this app.
I am learning American English, but sentences in this app are spoken by only British accent, which is only for British or Australian English learners. I wish there is an option that gives a chance to hear the American accent. I am working hard to improve my American accent, but British sentences make me confused. If you guys add American accent sound, that would be great! Thanks

Used to be great but now keeps crashing
This app is great for intermediate learners. It contains both American and british pronunciation. I would like it more if you add more examples.
I bought it a year ago and was very pleased with it until recently started to freeze and finally crash. Now, I deleted it and reinstalled many times. Still not working. I need an urgent help from the developer.

Fairly comprehensive & easy to use
I've been using this dictionary for a while. It does not have all the peculiar words but for the most purpose it is a great use. Wish I had this when i was learning English; it would've helped so much with idioms and word usage in sentences.
Controls are intuitive, easy to use. Interface is neat, clean, and well organized. Spoken audio can be downloaded, which is a big plus; however, it's audio quality is bit lower and volume is lower compared to the oxford dictionaries.
Despite these few minor issues (I'm being very picky), it's a great dictionary to have and use.
Now, IMPROVE the Andorid version !!!

Just a feature request, my friend shared a simple but spectacular idea with me about card flattering portion, so I've decided to write this review and share it with you. It seems good to have a new option in the card flattering section that pronounces the bookmarked words sequentially or randomly.

I uninstalled 4.1.3 on iOS 6
Doesn't work in iOS 6. The app opened but showed no words at all, only blank space, all the menus and options work, but not the dictionary. The weird thing is that I installed an old version of this app and it worked in the latest iOS. Why do you offer updates if they don't work? As they say don't fix it if it's not broken.

It's definitely worth its price. very awesome that it gives synonyms,idioms sentences, uses, and more. it also gives some grammar helps. word corrector exists as well. british and american pronunciation. explanation with pictures sometimes and more than i can describe here. just trust me and buy it, but don't update it by the phone use i tunes. I didn't have any problem updating it but other people did

Great but please...
I noticed the database is not completely identical with the desktop version. Some of words lack the thesaurus that desktop version has. Anyway, I have a suggestion.
Most of the people who use this dictionary, use it as a learning purpose and why not make some connection between powerful LDOCE and powerful Quizlet? It will help learners. Now I manually enter the words and their definitions in Quizlet. But a built-in function would be awesome....

Import bookmarks
I think this dictionary is the best on market and I am having great experience with this app. The main issue I have is that there is no way to import your own bookmarks ( I have some bookmark txt file in my PC) to the app. Adding the import function can save us lots of time typing with the awkward iPad virtual keyboard.

Great app but needs voice recognition...
I used to use this app all the time. It was my favorite ESL dictionary. It explains the words in a clear and easy to understand manner. It has phonetic spelling, parts of speech, audio, pics, grammar explanations, uncountable & countable nouns. However I stopped using it as much when I discovered another app that has voice recognition. Voice recognition allows me to look up words so much faster that I don't use the Longman dictionary as much. I hope Enfour adds voice recognition soon & integrates their phrasal verbs dictionary.

The BEST dictionary app!!!
I had a question, "does this app have enough worth of $30??," but I did not have to. I had used free dictionary apps or websites, but indeed, this one is the best! Bookmarks and history help you, and sounds and collocations are included even offline! Moreover, so easy to use!!

Terrible Support
I am very disappointed with Enfour product support team. The iCloud Bookmarks feature does not work on my iPad. It deletes the bookmarks every time I turn it on. I followed the instruction, reset my iCloud account, and even factory reset the iPad. I emailed Enfour 6 times for help. I provided them all the details of the problem and the things I tried to fix it. They responded twice with not much help. I answered their questions, but they don't answer mine. It's been 8 days with nothing since I asked them for an update on the issue. I feel like they don't care much about their customer. One star for the dictionary contents. I like the contents. I really want iCloud Bookmarks to work... sigh

I spent quite a long time to decide which dict to purchase and finally got this one for it's the only five star one. I'm very satisfied with this. Ps: I'm a Phd student and I have to look up a lot of academic words.

I'm using this app for about one year. It amazing! Usefull and marvelous.
First time I saw this app, I thought that It may not worth it but, I was completely wrong. It helps me more than I expected. Buy this app and then you will see how it works amazingly.
It deserve 5 stars but if you've used their software, that one has more fantastic options and applications.
To conclude, this app regard to its performance in iPhone, works very well. As a user, I've compeletly satisfied with this.

Best dictionary. One suggestion: have the search box stay on top and move font size change and bookmark button somewhere else, because I use search all the time but never used the font size change and bookmark.

Useful app
I don't understand why it has not higher score. Sometimes there are errors such as finishing by itself but I'm pretty satisfied with the contents. It has almost all words, phrasal verbs and useful expressions I need (I'm learning English in upper-intermediate level). I'm sure it will satisfy people who learn English as a second language.

The worst customers support!
In the business enviroments if your customers ask something then you should deliver it right away in order to be a competive product.
This is the most expensive app that I have paid and asking the sorting feature from A-Z , this feature was in the original version and you guys took it away from each updates. I have been asking for months and you simply just ignored me.
Remember, I am the customer who pay your salaries and the boss!

It is one of the best dictionary for iphone,ipad and ipod. It is comprehensive and very well designed. It is very useful and after buying it I put away other dictionaries (book or software). The only part of this dictionary that need improvements is the bookmark section when you use it as a flash card and for reviewing.
With the latest update, I think this dictionary is the best dictionary for English learners and it is unique in search and bookmark.

Great app for my favorite dictionary
I used a hard copy while as a student, now I have it in my pocket, with instant search - that's great. I appreciate that after I've bought an iPhone app, now I am able to use a native app on my iPad.
The program is well made, and no crashes or glitches to remember.
I also like making bookmarks for not so common words found in books.
May be that is not an ultimate app, but it is convenient and I say worth the price.

Wonderful
Gorgeous dictionary... Each word is described in such a way so that foreign learners could easily grab the meaning.
But would have been more wonderful if it would contain some more multimedia photo-video illustations. After all paying this good amount of money a customer deserve to have some more multimedia contents for ios device dictionary. Looking for some more multimedia contents in next version. I don't think customers will care for big size if content is exclusively rich. Lastly, refering to previous customers recomendation most of the people prefer to have previous searched word to remain in the search bar rather than getting blank search bar everytime a customer opens.

The best dictionary for ESL students!
This dictionary is great! It has many examples of word usage for each of its meanings with audio samples, pictures, grammar rules..
I personally miss the 'Back' button. Another issue is that it plays audio files for sample sentences with 5+ seconds delay after downloading icon already stopped animating. Maybe that's because I'm located outside of US? (tried it in different European countries on high speed internet connection - same result)

Nice Dictionary
It is a great dictionary. I don't say the pronouciation of the sample senteces must be included in the app. but it would be great if it was optional for users to do so. When i tap for sample sentences, only half of the sentence is read which I believe is due to my slow internet. I really like to download all of them once to solve this problem.

Good but not enough
Sometimes you look up some easy words like "apple" and "grass", you can find it easier. But if you wanna find some advanced words, like "proleptic", "redacted", and "conjunctive", forget about the dictionary. You can't even find them anywhere!

I've been using this dictionary for 5 months. I could find any word that I looked up, and also definitions of the words very clear to understand. You can distinguish the difference easily between two similar words.
And also a recommendation; If you are also a foreign learner like me, don't use the language dictionary that you are speaker of to learn meaning of a word in English. Use always English to English. Maybe at the beginning it is going to be hard but when you get used to, you are going to see difference.

Good but can be better
It is good as people's recommendation. But for thus layout and app feature can be more better if things can be modified listed below.
Don't get me wrong. Even version right now has already be good.
But user as greed as me always look forward to better and better.
1. Voice quality kind of low and speed is too fast compared to others dictionary which kind of vague.
2. There is no control of the font display. When some key word has long definition list , only thing you can do is scroll up and down even you have menu option but never use that due to no understanding of where what you looking for might located.
3. Example sentence can only available unless Internet connected. Understood. But every sentence need wait five seconds after downloading sign finished is not so reasonable.
4 word of Britain can not be found but found it in another dictionary only cost 3.99.

Unless you are a native American this is the best you can find and it is definitely worth! I would like to suggest to the developer to add a feature that enables the user to simply tap a word in a text or while on the web and the dictionary pops up with the definition.

The truth is I use this app anytime I want to search for English words. Can you guys add a feature that prevent iphone automatically display sleep mode so it helps me a lot when I use this amazing app for long time word-searching. Thanks again, I love you guys so much :x.

I purchased LDOCE for my iPhone about an year ago and ever since I have been using regularly and keep on getting free updates including iPad. It is bit pricy but worth it!

Longman Activator needed!
I love longman dictionary very much. I really want the publisher to post more of Longman dictionary or reference applications into the apple store. Especially, I love to see references such as "Longman Essential Activator" or "Longman Language Activator" in this store soon. Thank you publisher for making such handful references available to me.

Great learner's dictionary
I've been using the paper version of the dictionary for a long time. It gives the learners clear definitions and thousands of examples which are crucial in learning good English and sounding more like a native speaker. Now I'm so glad I can have it on my iPad and not just on my desk; although I wish it was a universal app. I really hope the developer will update to universal soon.

Greatest apps ever
I've installed AHD from Enfour, in my iphone last year and it is one of my favorite apps on my iphone. This time i heard about another dictionary app from the same company so I decided to install it. This company has never failed me before, they always listen to customer complaints and improve their apps. I love the dictionary as well as their apps.

I have a suggest, when I click search button, the early word remain in search box, I think 99% users want to search new word instead of edit early word when they click search button. So they must delete the early word and type new word. It's a very inconvenient design. My suggest is, when I click search button, please let me type new word directly, not need to delete old word(in fact, it will cost me more than 5 seconds -_-!!! ) .

Impressive!
I use the (free) online LDOCE almost every day, so when I saw the ad for this, I was stoked. The price, however, deterred me for several weeks.
In the end, I broke down and purchased what is possibly the most descriptive dictionary for the iphone, even if you aren't an advanced learner (I'm an EFL/composition teacher). This app is worth every penny.
My only complaints so far is that it doesn't use the cover art as a loading screen and that it doesn't automatically start in search mode or start up at the last word looked up (we should be able to choose in settings which we prefer).

Finally A Great Dictionary in the market!!!!!!!
This is the Best Dictionary for iPhone application, I've been using the American Heritage, New Oxford American, Cambridge, Collins, Merriam Webster, and Ultralingua, but none of them is flexible as this one, the only problem is when you want to listen to the sentence examples, it takes you out of the application and you cannot go back to the application itself, please fix that problem, and thank you, thank you!!!!
