Getting Worse
Used to be okay, now I can't even scan a card in. The display is off and it lost a lot of its features. I'm deleting it.

Obviously this app has been abandoned…
Lost my phone and had to recreate it. The password I have for Cardstar doesn’t work, tried resetting and they send the reset link so late it’s expired when you finally get it, rinse and repeat. I’m really annoyed I trusted this app with my card info, might have lost several cards due to my ignorance. Guess will have to do my best to resurrect what I can into Apple Wallet, they’ll probably remain reliable unlike CardStar.

Used this app for years to store library and other cards. Now you have to upgrade for features we don’t need but the screens to create an account don’t work - they scroll up so you can’t make the required entries. Poor QA

Getting slower and glitchy
I’ve had this App for nearly twelve (12) years or so. The history is patchy. Originally it worked very well. Then the company stopped supporting it and things went downhill. The current owner promised regular updates but only has done a few.
For the past few months it’s been getting slower and slower to open. Since there’s no way to sort, it can take an inordinate amount of time to find your card. It might not be a actually that long but it is when your in line and the cashier and the people behind you are waiting on you.
Update 2025: it’s now been five years plus since the last update. It’s only a matter of time and Apple iOS updates before it stops working.

Hey, I love this app. It’s easy to use. Looks good. I was wondering the developers were able to make it so the cards saved in it could be added to Apple Wallet. I just like everything in one place and push wrong buttons all the time so I try to streamline most of my life.

Could use some updates
I have used this app for years for my loyalty cards instead of having to carry them. I love how simple it is and doesn’t take long to find each card at checkout. One thing I wish would be updated is being able to edit the logo for each card. Most of my cards automatically add the company logo when I add them- rite aid, stop & shop, etc. but for some there is no logo making it hard to find the right card. I wish I could add a logo from my photos for these cards.

It doesn’t work anymore
I have used Cardstar for years. Now it has stopped working. I had all my loyalty cards in it—grocery cards, pharmacy cards, etc. Unfortunately, I no longer have the physical cards. Now, when I open the app, it tells me that to retrieve my cards I have to sign in with my email and password, but when I first started using the card years ago, they didn’t ask to set up an account, so I don’t have that. Without it, apparently I cannot retrieve my data. Everything is gone! I’m very frustrated.

Used to love the app
It was great when you could take a photo of your card and easily find what you were looking for when you needed it. Now it’s name in tiny tiny print, few graphics, even some type of graphic would be better than a shopping cart. V for visa, MC, D, etc. I rarely use the app now. It easier to use my wallet and physically find the card I want. Bring back photos!!

Bad for IPHONE
When I try to sign up for the free account, it asks for your email address. When I begin to enter it, the screen jumps and I can no long see what or where to type. This definitely needs a fix because someone 1 year ago mentioned the same thing and no one form the app has even responded to that comment.

Typing blind.
The app requires you to establish an account…OK. When you go to sign up, the keyboard on you iPhone pops up but the line to type your email is hidden. You have to type it in blind, twice. Then the password has to be entered twice, also while being unable to see what you’re typing. Useless.

I have loved this app for years. Honestly I would be lost without it. It hold reward cards, ID info, sooo much info that I would panic if I thought it wouldn't be available anymore!! No More
Had your app for years and it was great. Had all my cards and numbers on it. Then one day it’s gone, can’t find it any where. Presented some problems, like I got rid of all my physical cards. No more records of numbers. Had to start getting all my numbers lever. Then all of a sudden ITS BACK without past numbers and sorts of signing up and all the crap.
Tried to sign up real pain in the A….So the heck with it, I’ll do it the old fashion way.

Don’t use much anymore
This used to be my go to card app until I found one that works on my watch. Now I only use it for some of my obscure cards. It’s a good app but the cards I have on my watch allow me to leave my wallet and phone in my pocket when checking out, if the store accepts mobile payments. Still, I’ve had very few problems with this app.

Bad bad bad for iPhone
I used card star for years. Then they said I had to have a free upgrade to use it anymore even though all my cards are stored on it. After trying to use it and not successfully being able to, I decide to do the free upgrade. I clicked on the box to enter my email address the box jumps off the screen up above where anything is visible. You cannot enter your email address and if I enter a saved email address then I cannot click to the next box to confirm the email address or click to the next box to enter a password or click to the next box to answer the confirmation of the password. Tried this for a half hour. Finally decided maybe there’s a glitch in the app so I removed the app reinstalled it now all my cards are gone and it still will not let me enter my information to be able to use it.

Locked out no assistance
After four years of using the app — it suddenly locked me out and password reset does not send an email. There’s no assistance as far as I can tell. No report a problem. So it’s free, but after discarding all my tags, this app has just made a huge job for me to replace or find out my account codes.

Really good app
I have had this app on my phone for a very long time and am very happy with it. I can't say that I've had any problems with it working except in one area, the scanner to read a bar code off of a new rewards card number I just got. The scanner doesn't work, ya have enter the number in manually . After that it works fine. I open it up, it shows me my reward cards and then I open the one I'm using at that time. What more can you ask for.

I’ve had this on my iPhone for a car while now I like it very much I know I have a new iPad I have the application on there, but I cannot get the cards already installed on my iPhoneto transfer to my iPad! Big disappointment!
I had used up my “free” tries. I went to sign up for free upgrade. Every time I tried to enter email and password it scrolled up and I can’t bring it back down to see if I’m putting the info in correctly. When I “think” I have the info in and hit done, the screen is blank. My phone is updated to iOS 14.7. This is a huge disappointment because don’t have my cards anymore.

Don’t bother trying to sign in if you had an Android phone
I used to love this app on my Android phone. Switched to an iPhone, but the app won’t even let me log in - keeps saying I need to upgrade, even if I choose that I’ve already updated.
Since I have to reload all of my cards anyway, switching to something better like Storcard.

Used to be a great little app for storing all kinds of membership cards, etc. Logos used to automatically load. For the past year I can’t even get Costco card to load the logo - and that’s a huge national company. Shame the developers just let this app go to waste. Will have to find a better alternative.

Can’t access the app
Just started using CardStar a couple months ago. Very convenient but now it wants me to “upgrade for free”. No option not to upgrade. Apparently I’ve used up all of my options to upgrade later. So I went ahead and clicked the upgrade button. Boxes come up on the screen for email address and password. As soon as I click in the first box the screen scrolls up until the boxes can no longer be seen. Won’t scroll down. So I can’t upgrade. I can’t access the cards I stored without upgrading. I went to the App Store and clicked the support link. CardStar web page won’t open. Hopefully the developer will respond to this review. Otherwise I’ll have to start over with another app. Running the latest iOS on a phone less than a year old.

Wouldn’t Let Me Register, So I Deleted It
I used this app a few years ago and liked it a lot. Now that. I am back to the iPhone, I downloaded it again and was excited to have it. Unfortunately, no matter how many ways I tried to register as required, I kept getting error messages saying my email was wrong, my password was wrong, etc. I don’t have time anymore for apps that take more than ten minutes to set up. Sorry, Card Star. Handy app, and I am giving you 5 stars so I don’t ruin your ratings, but you’ve lost me for now.

Display store Logo
The only reason why I didn’t give this app 5 stars is because the store logos have to be reloaded every week. I often get to the store to find I have not reloaded the logos and the store name is so small that as a person who wears reading glasses it’s nearly impossible to see. Not sure why this has never been changed but it seems a bit of a no brainer.

Exit: Fixed - Instacrash on iOS 13
Though it’s still essentially the same dated app it was years ago, I’m very happy it’s back and that my cards are all there. Appreciate the response from the developer that it’d been fixed as well.
That said, that it instacrashed day one on iOS 13 and has apparently had trouble during past iOS updates has me using an alternative now. Great app when it was released and I enjoyed using and recommending it for years. But this issue scared me away, I’m afraid.
Original one-star review: Looks likes support has finally died. Was in store, tried to open app for the first time since the iOS 13 update, saw opening screen, and CRASH. Tried again, HARD CRASH. It’s dead, Jim. Goodbye cards. Sheesh.

Crashed again
I love this app when it works but it seems that the tech support is severely lacking. Many of the reviews mention that when IOS 12 was released, CardStar immediately crashed. Now that IOS 13 is released it’s deja vu all over again. The app crashes and there’s no tech support. You can send them an email to their “tech support” link, but that will get returned. I don’t have any sensitive data stored with them so I’m not worried about that, but it’s a pain to recreate your cards in another app but I have done just that. UPDATE: they updated the app for IOS 13 and everything works again. Thanks

Update...... Still FRUSTRATED!!
I’ve had this app since I got my iPhone. I’ve never had a problem and always recommended it.
Since I did the update IOS 13 I’ve been unable access my cards and it keeps telling me I have to sign on. I’ve requested my password since I had it set up with one touch sign in. Now I’ve lost all my cards! I’ve requested my password for over a week and still nothing. DON’T GET THIS APP!!! Horrible customer service

There’s no phone number to be able to contact the helpdesk. If I would’ve known that this would’ve happened I would’ve never use this app

Developer is non existent
If you loose access for whatever reason, there is no one that will reply to your emails. After installing iOS 13, the app no longer starts up. All my cards are gone since the developer is gone and there is also no web access to retrieve your account data.
Update: so it seems the app is now updated but since i already migrated to different app, i don’t care. I only raise the review by one star since the developer made me transfer manually all to a different app due to their silence.

Doesn’t work on iPhone 10
This was the first app I downloaded nearly 10 years ago and was my most used app. When I got my iPhone 10 the app won’t open. Had to download another app, but lost a lot of my data. Very disappointed!
Update: An update for iOS 13 was made available that got the app working again. It’s a great app again!

I love that app. I have had it for years now. Made it super convenient having all my perks cards in one location. I have even been asked by many people what it is and they love it too. Now I am crashing when opening. I have cards on here that I no longer have physically and the thought that I cannot at least access them has me a little worried. Please fix it

Now works on iPhone
Updating my review since the app now works again in the iPhone (!!!!). The app has returned to it’s easy to use format for storing loyalty cards.
This app no longer works. I thought it might be because of the latest iOS update, but their website no longer works, etc. When you click on ‘app support’ it takes you to their new app, which has nothing to do with loyalty cards. There is no way to access my loyalty cards, since even their old website takes you to a different place. Sure would have been nice to have been given a warning that the app was shutting down so I could save all of my card info.

Crashing with latest IPhone update
I would have given this app 5 stars until I upgraded to the latest iPhone software upgrade. No it does not open, crashes immediately. Please upgrade this app I used it often.

iOS 13.1 problem
I had the same problem with the app not opening once I upgraded to iOS13.1. I finally gave up and downloaded Stocard which I have found to be even better. The only problem was that I had to load all of my loyalty cards into the app but fortunately I had saved most of the original cards in a drawer. Also my wife had not yet upgraded to iOS 13.1 so her CardStar was still working so I was able to get many of them from her. Very easy to upload using the camera and a lot of nice features.
UPDATE: CardStar has resolved the issue with iOS13.1 with an upgrade that allows the app to be used with the new operating system. All my cards are saved in the app and can once again be used. I was contacted by the developer notifying me of this change - which I much appreciated. Glad to see that they are listening to user’s concerns.

Edit: They claim this works now. I’ve already moved on to a different app because of the lack of care of this company. Since I submitted this issue to them MONTHS before the release of the new iOS, I do not care to have a broken app for months every time something updates on the iOS.
Do not upgrade to iOS 13 if you use this app. I submitted a bug to the company 6 months ago, while iOS 13 was still in beta and they apparently don’t care. I’m a little irritated because I have all of my cards in this app and cannot use it.

Crashed on new phone
Same problem as reported by previous reviewer: bought a new iphone (8) & now this app will NOT open. Only app on new phone that this happened to 😤
Update- developer listened to reviewers & fixed the app for ios13 update. That’s how things should work! 👍👍👍👍. Great job; great app.

Was great - Needs update
I got a new iPhone 11 Pro with iOS 13.1 and now the app will not open. I have relied on this app since my iPhone 4s was new. Please update it to work on this phone. Thanks.
Update: CardStar was updated to work with iOS 13, so it is once again the great app I’ve relied on for all these years. Thank you for fixing it.

Love the app
I can input all my cards and not carry them all! Most places are able to scan it straight from the phone now. Some have to input it manually but better than searching for a card in your wallet or keychain.
I had issues with it crashing after the IOS13 upgrade but they had an update within days. So glad! Clearing the cache from settings was becoming a pain. Highly recommend it!

Fix for iOS 13
I have used this app for years and love it. After upgrading to iOS 13, the app would not open and just crashed. I discovered today that I could go into the app settings and turn on the option to clear the cache. Once I did that, I tried reopening the app again. The first time crashed like before, but then the app opened long enough for me to get most of the card numbers out if it. Now it’s crashing again. I sent a message to the dev team. A week later, we had an update and everything is working great again! I still love this app!

Can’t open app on iPhone after recent software update

Loved this app... it no longer opens on my iPhone since the recent iPhone software update. I hope CardStar provides an update so it is compatible once again. I’ve rebooted, deleted, reinstalled the app from the cloud... no luck. When this app works I give it 5 stars.

Fix CRASH iOS 13
This company needs to get in the ball if they are still around and test the app pre-update. I’ve has this app for YEARS...
iOS11 rolled out and app crashed for a while until they fixed it. iOS12 update rolled out and app crashed on open. iOS13 rolled out and now crashes on open. PLEASE FIX during BETA - everybody else does!!
UPDATE 10/7: they have updated the app for iOS13 that fixes the crash issue with no loss of card info. Still some common cards that logos won’t upload - need a way to download logos and manually add them

Thank you for fixing your great app. Not giving it 5 because we have had to deal with the same crashing issues the last couple IOS updates and nervous after how long it took to fix it this time. How many more updates do we have left because you no longer mention the app on your own website?

Crashed after I phone update
Had a lot of my cards on this app had it for a few years w/o too much issues then got the last iPhone update (13.2) app froze went to reinstall and cannot gain access to my account. Tried the email reset and it told me my account was invalid soooo now This is completely useless. Also tried to reapply a new account and the set up page on the app crashes. Will no longer use. Look elsewhere!

Excellent!
I have been using this app for YEARS! I love it! I love it mainly as a grocery store discount card replacement. I haven’t used the normal ones in years. I was having an issue with the app crashing on launch in iOS 13. I contacted the developer and an update was launched the next day with a fix! Great response! Keep up the great work!

Won’t work with iOS 13
I’ve used Card Star for years. My kids’ daycare has a barcode scanning system to check them in & out each day & this made it so much easier than searching for paper cards to scan them in & out with. My mom also has the app so that she could scan them in & out when she takes or picks them up. However, when iPhone iOS updated to iOS 13, the app no longer works. iOS 13 released over a month ago & the app has still not been updated to be compatible.

Lost cards
This was a great App....everything in one place and my keychain is lighter. Then one day I’m at the store and try to use one of my shopping cards and all I get is a blue screen and then it turns itself off. I try it again and again....nothing. It’s safe to say I was upset, I missed on my gas savings and drink points at Sheetz! I have tried in SEVERAL other occasions to pull it up, but nothing. I turned my phone off and on...nothing; I deleted the app and put it back on....ahhh I could see my cards. Closed the app...and nothing again. Beyond frustrated! HELP!

Clear cache if it crashes
I was frustrated that CardStar couldn’t make it past the splash screen following the iOS 13 update. Found a review where someone mentioned clearing cache. To do that, go into Settings for the app and toggle the Clear Cache switch. After I swiped out the app and relaunched it would then stay open.
I’ve been using it for years. Glad I found this fix because it’s a handy app and I didn’t want to have to reload my cards in a different app.

Waiting for iOS 13 support
Been using the app for years. Loved it, and used it daily. But alas, iOS 13 seems to have broken it. Since upgrading last week, it crashes on launch. If I delete and reinstall the app it works...for a day. Then back to crashing on launch. I’ve now deleted and reinstalled it 4 times in one week. Not very good for an app whose sole purpose is convenience!
UPDATE: since the iOS 13 update broke the app (as others here also have noted) I’ve emailed support twice, a week apart. Not angry letters, just civil queries asking when they expected a fix. No reply to either email. Has the support staff fled the sinking ship?

Great & useful
Great until the iOS 13 update 😟
I never carry all of those pesky cards with me anymore only this app. The cards are all in a wallet at home. The app is useful in any state you can use the actual card, even if their scanner can't read the phone, they can manually type in the number. Hotels, airlines, grocery stories, the gym, every place I have a card, they accept it from my phone. Top 5 apps I use weekly!

Won’t Open in iOS 13
I’ve been using this app for years and had served it purpose with no complaints, UNTIL i downloaded iOS 13 last week. Now the app won’t open at all. It looks like it’s starting up then it fails and closes automatically. I hope they fix soon bc I have lots of cards i use daily like my gym. It’s an inconvenience now to keep asking people to look up my information. Please fix this soon!!

Lost everything with IOS upgrade
Upgraded my phone with the new IOS 13 upgrade. Now I can’t get into my account even with my password. I clicked on forgot password thinking maybe I was entering the wrong one. Message said I’d receive an email with instructions to reset.
No email ever came. Now I fear I lost everything. I loved the convenience of not carrying all those cards so I’m so frustrated at the failure of this app. It would be nice if there was someone to reach out too for help.

LOVE IT, Extremely useful
Love love this app, have used it for years. Makes all my cards so much easier to deal with!! Do wish we had the option of putting them alphabetically however. Would be easier when your at the register, trying to find a card. Otherwise I love this app. ZERO complaints.

No access
I had this app which I loved. Made life so easy. Everything in on place without fumbling around. I had to replace my phone, and went to sign back in and could not get back into my account. Tried the “forgot password” and kept getting a message that it couldn’t be reset and to contact customer service. The email was sent and it has been at least 2 weeks and no word from customer service. I trusted that the cards would be safe and I would have access to my account. But now I can’t get access to my account. No customer service!! Very frustrating!!!!

May we have the location back, please?
Not sure what the percentage split is between the front screen showing Nearby cards vs. Recent cards, but I found it MUCH more useful when the app automatically found the closest cards and presented them! Hey, I was *using* that!
So how about making that a Setting and giving US the choice as to which we find more useful? And while you’re in there, what about doubling the number of Nearby or Recent cards, since there is so much unused white space on the Home screen? Come to think of it, there’s enough room to show both options, Nearby AND Recent!
I had to dock the rating by a star for becoming LESS useful to me.

I hate this app
I used to love this app. I’ve been using it for many years. I’ve used it so much that I don’t have the physical cards anymore.
Then, 2 days ago there was an update and I was prompted to sign into my account. This wasn’t a thing when I originally downloaded the app. I don’t have a log in name or account. The update erased all my card data. I now will have to try to track down all my account info for the over 40 cards I had stored on the app. Their customer support couldn’t help me.
So yourself a favor and don’t use this app. If you already have it, don’t lose track of your card numbers. Learn from my mistake trusting this app.

Love it!
I absolutely love this app. I was able to remove many loyalty cards and membership cards from my wallet, even my library card. I also love using the shopping list. I set one up for each store that I commonly visit and add the items that I need as I think of them.

Disappointed with update
I used to love this app. I have all my loyalty cards loaded and whenever I needed to use one, I would open the app and see the nearby ones and just select the one I needed. So easy and convenient! With the recent update, instead of nearby cards, it changed to show favorites, which is horrible. Now I have to go scrolling through the cards to find the one I need. And it’s not even alphabetical! They are loaded randomly and it takes forever to find the card I need. Will be looking for a different loyalty card app. Too bad because this used to be great.

Hope they update or create a version for 11
I love this app. It works as well and I have used it much longer than apple wallet. Do you plan on upgrading or creating a version that will work with iOS 11? I really hope so. Worth paying for. Only issue I ever had was not creating an account so I could recover my cards when I changed phones. User error.

Extremely Convenient
I have been using CardStar for years and absolutely LOVE it!! I no longer have to carry 20+ rewards cards around on a key chain as I placed all of my cards in my CardStar app as well as any notes corresponding to that card. I also included other types of memberships and it's (my) numeric membership number so I would have record of it when needed.
This app is oh so convenient and since I take my phone everywhere then of course I have all of my cards everywhere I frequent as well. It's an awesome shopping tool to have! I definitely recommend this app to anyone who loves retail and service rewards programs without the hassle of having to bring along al of those keychain rewards cards.
CardStar receives an affirmative 5 star rating from me!!
