Really Helps Learning to Count
The leveling of the game is great! It helped me become much better at counting. I like that it also gives you a nice explanation if you make a mistake. It has made me feel much more confident in playing the game in real life.

Best cribbage game by far!
100% the only cribbage game on the App Store worth getting. It lets you count your own hand, mug points, and has a nice look and flow to the game. Also it has multiple boards, table backgrounds, pegs, card backs and faces to choose from. Don’t waste your time on these other poorly made games. This is the one to get.

Great game. Plenty of challenge. Brings me back to childhood when I learned from my folks. It disappeared at one point and I tried to find another 3 player game that was just against the computer, no luck. I was thrilled to find this one again as I play every morning with my parents who passed several years ago. This is important to me so I am thrilled to see it back again.

Polished, intuitive
Everything works smoothly and the program is intuitive to use. When playing against the computer for practice, the difficulty settings from easy to expert seem to really be accurate. For example, I usually win against the computer set to easy and usually don’t when it’s set to expert. My only complaint is that I would like to be able to turn off the setting that limits the time I’m taking for a particular move. I’m working with another beginner online and sometimes am trying to explain scoring when I get cut off. I understand the reason to keep the game moving most of the time, but it would be nice to have the option of turning it off.

Best Cribbage Game Out There!!
I've been playing cribbage since I was 4, and this is hands down as close to the real thing as it gets! It's spot on counting all the points in the expert level and for those learning or getting a refresher in the game the other levels are great and still competitive enough.
The only con I've found is that I don't agree about 50% of the time with the hints when I do a check. But I'm stubborn and I've been playing over 50 yrs.

Great online cribbage game
Been playing 18 games once a week online against a friend of mine. There’s been a few bugs but they were taken care of pretty quickly. The only complaint and why I only gave it four stars, is that the chat feature stopped working and we have to leave our cell phones on to talk while we play.

This is a great game for cribbage players. It has different board, peg, and card choices. It also has a range of settings from easy to expert. It keeps track of how many games you’ve won and lost, your largest hand, and whether or not you skunked your opponent. You can play with friends and just against the computer, you can play with or without muggins, and there’s even a setting where you don’t have to count your cards! If you enjoy cribbage, you should totally download this game. It’s fun, free, and relaxing!

I had been playing this game for several years and had paid for the ad free version. I had played thousands of games until a few months ago when I got a notification that the game was no longer supported and it quit working. After a couple months I found the game again on the App Store. Problem is that I had to start all over from the beginning. At least I am able to play the same game.

Finally compatible with iPadOS 18
Edit: Thanks to the developers for listening to user feedback. They fixed the issue described below and I’m back to playing Cribbage in my preferred app.
Old:I loved this version of cribbage: clean, simple, no annoying ads. Opened it up after updating to iPadOS 18.1.1 and there’s a spammy-looking message saying this app is no longer supported by the maker and I have to switch to a different cribbage app called “Ultimate Cribbage” (apparently also made by WildCard). I can’t close the message or use this app anymore. Ultimate Cribbage is awful. I hate the interface and it forces you into multiple ads during gameplay. It also doesn’t allow you to choose the level or your opponent. Please make Cribbage Premium compatible with iPadOS 18!

Great Cribbage
The Bad: Can not stand the ads I paid for premium and still get pop ups that Blow. The good: Cribbage is the Thee best card game ever and obviously this programmer has it down!! I play the expert level fast and have found the importance of card choice just as critical as playing live with a partner. Playing this against the iPhone is really good but not quite as good as playing naked with my chick.

Excellent game for all levels of player
I’ve played other cribbage games including another version put out by the same developer and this one is the best. It’s a stripped down version that’s easy in, easy out, has good separation between the difficulty levels, has quick, fluid animation etc. where other games try to do too much, this one masters the basics and is successful for it.

Thank you so much for your responsiveness- I highly recommend this app again - if one of your wishes is to simply play the game without having to employ all the extra bells and whistles! Great until forced update
This game was great until an update forced me to use a newer, different version. The old version, which i paid for, used to allow me to play a game extremely quickly—I logged over 1000 games. I also used to be able to play with friends, but that functionality became almost unusable a few months ago.
The new version has ads after every hand, is cartoonish, and I don’t see a way to pay to remove the ads or lame CPU emoji’s even with a paid upgrade. I will be deleting, and avoiding other WildCard games if this is where their products are heading.

Forced to upgrade
I have been playing this game for many years and have enjoyed it immensely. Now I am saddened by its demise. Ultimate Fecal Matter Cribbage is designed for 3 year olds and since I am not 3, I do not enjoy it at all. Ads are horrible, annoying and waaay too long. (As in there are way more ads than actual play time.) There are no settings to adjust sounds or other aspects of this ad.
I suppose I should commend the new ads, complaining that the ads are interrupted by required gameplay to see even more ads. (Yes, Virginia, this is sarcasm.)
I have wiped this offensive offal from my device and advise players to do the same.

The ONLY Cribbage App
Ok, just so you know, I've been playing cribbage continually since 1956. This is simply the best cribbage app available. In addition to enabling a broad array of playing and scoring options, they continue to roll out meaningful upgrades, improving on an already great app. The most recent upgrade provides a vastly improved mechanism for manual scoring that helps prevent the"fat-finger" incorrect scoring. I have tried a number of on-line and app-based crib games. None other comes close.

Great game with one bug
Overall a great implementation of Cribbage. The price tag is just right. I’ve removed one star because of a counting bug. It often overcounts hands. When looking at the explanation, it will show the same sets multiple times. Almost always it’s a run. As an example, I can have a 2-2-3-4, which should be 8. It’ll say I undercounted by 6 and then show 4 2-3-4s, 2 of which have identical cards. Makes me wonder if it’s over counting opponents cards sometimes, but I haven’t dug in enough to check.

The Best
My father taught me cribbage growing up and we played all the time. I’m now 80 years old and thought a cribbage app might be a good way to exercise my mind. I tried four in a row before I discovered this app. This one is clearly ahead of the others and gives me the same experience as pegging on a wooden deck and using a real deck of cards. It’s now my only cribbage app and a definite keeper. Try it, you’ll like it.

Used to be great
Years ago, when I purchased this game, it was great! Then, the developers started changing things, and getting greedy. Remember, I had paid for this. Shortly afterward, you could only pray the expert level if you bought the new version. You could only get certain swag after you bought the new version. They started to run ads on the bottom of the screen. It was nonintrusive, so I dealt with it. Then they started running ads between games. Now they run ads during the games, sometimes between each hand. I am deleting this app.

Not random
This is my second review because of how horrible the algorithm is for this game. The opponent wins the draw about 90% of the time. It gets a Jack about 75% of the time and cuts jacks like crazy. It will mirror my amazing hands and cribs. It will peg the heck out of me most games. And that is usually how I win because it won’t peg well. It isn’t because I got good Hans and cribs. I very rarely ever break 16. My cribs never get above 12. It will break 20 multiple times 2 out of 3 games. It will take the lead swinging around the second corner and if it doesn’t completely skunk me, it will win by coming from behind on the home stretch with a brilliant hand and crib and crazy pegs after I count first and come up 1-2 pegs short after not pegging even once the last hand. I get fours and aces with two face cards constantly and cut a card that gives it a great crib. When I win it’ll often be with 3-4 pegs to win with a 20+ hand and 12+ crib. This app used to be great. Now it’s only good for online P v P. It’s actually the best P v P cribbage app I’ve found but someone really screwed up this app somehow.

Worth it
I love cribbage, and have been playing this app for years. So much fun. It is the best cribbage app out there. It’s well worth it to pay the one time to get rid of the ads.
My only desire would be for the expert play against the computer level to be a bit harder. Thank you for making this game! It has helped me through some tough times. Card games forever!

Definitely lacking in some areas
Clearly, the game is rigged. I started keeping track of the number of times computer was dealt a 5 card. The computer always gets more fives than me. I still maintain a winning percentage because the program is not aware of the finer ways of scoring. How about keeping track of the packing points? This is where skill really predominates and I would like to know how my pig and compares to the computer. A tip for future users: always assume that the computer has a five card in their hand and that will help you out!

Cribbage in Retirement!
I learned cribbage from my uncle who was an excellent and diligent player and taught me the ins and outs of the game. I played with him regularly for years surpassing his skills, but shortly thereafter he passed away. I gave up the game after retiring and moving to Florida, playing only occasionally . Consequently, I forgot much of the of the game. But recently my daughter got me a cell phone and I learned that the game was available and I downloaded it. It only took a little while to relearn the game and I am regularly playing and enjoying it.

I always play this game on my own as I have very poor reception in the woods but I find the game very entertaining and better than other versions I have tried. My only issue would be with the counting when in play. Often the game will miss points when cards are played in a row. Most of the time it's correct but I've played a lot and I'm starting to see a pattern for when the count will be inaccurate. Hopefully the programmer will find it before I do.

Still no turn-based option… very disappointing
I have enjoyed this cribbage app in the past but it has now been made much more laborious to play multiple turn-based games simultaneously by adding additional steps to switch from one game to another - it is annoying enough that I may stop playing this app altogether. It is disappointing and aggravating to take a design/format that is reasonably smooth and "user-friendly" in its function and make it significantly less user-friendly. Hope this change is corrected very soon, otherwise I will stop playing it & find a better app. So disappointing and seems like the app designers are either not paying attention or not caring to make the app easy to use/play.
Having an online multiplayer real time game is not always successful because people disconnect or get busy and cannot complete the game. I turn based game option makes it so much more flexible because you do not need to complete the game in real time. I know this option is still available through game Center. But there are also many apps that have turned based game options without game Center. So this is completely mystifying and extremely disappointing that this option is not available. It is OK playing with the AI periodically but that is not the same as playing an actual person.
Please please please offer a turn based option again! 🙏

User interface not the greatest
The game is fun since it’s cribbage, however, the user interface is not the greatest. You have to be sure to click and drag the cards. Otherwise, it selects the card it thinks you touched. Even with the different backgrounds and card types to select from, it was hard for me to fully and correctly look at my cards. It was easy for me to miss pairs or runs. There is also a ton of unused space around the Peg Board. Since this is a card game, I think the cards could be larger and the peg board incorporated somewhere else. It feels unnecessarily small.

Fix your audio!!!
Play all the time. I have Bluetooth enabled hearing aids and I don’t care to hear any audio from the game. When I disable the audio in the menu, the game still captures my hearing aids and reduced the sound. I don’t hear any game audio, it just reduces the sound I hear by about 50-60% . Very very annoying!!!!! Please fix!

Also, your daily goals have become absolutely ridiculous ie. 10 four of. Kind🙄, 15 three of a kind.

Choices
I like that it will let you choose to count your own cards. After you’ve counted them, if you under counted it will tell you but you don’t get the points. If you over counted, it will penalize you. And it’s doing that while showing you what the points were for. I also like that you can get hints on card to play or put into the crib. You don’t have to tap hint. Sometimes what I like to do is decide, and then tap hint. Ultimately 90% of the time it doesn’t change my thinking. Some other times when I think about the hint I realize there’s something I wasn’t really seeing which means I’m learning. Since it doesn’t matter if I win or lose playing the computer, Enjoying playing while also adding some learning is really cool

Lots of Fun
I would like to begin this review by saying thank you. I grew up playing cribbage and your app gave me hours of enjoyment that made surviving 2020 a little bit easier. It definitely brought back some fond memories.
As far as the play of the game is concerned there is little to complain about. The IF is simple and intuitive and easy to follow. The only issue for me occurs in expert mode where your opponent consistently makes choices that are without logic for a seasoned cribbage player. For a casual player I admit this is not a big deal and I certainly don’t think it should dissuade anyone from downloading this app. But I would hope the developer of such a well loved app would enjoy making it just a little better and more realistic by fixing (if possible) this small short coming.

It’s great!-er without ads
I played the free version which wasn’t free from the start as it charged me for ai and then pummeled me with ads. I was stubborn to get the paid version as I already paid, but eventually caved as the ads were driving me nuts. But it’s a good app and the game play is pretty solid with enough options and difficulty levels to keep you engaged. The challenges don’t really do anything except give you experience points as the points happen regardless of intent. They do although encourage you to try different difficulties. I like Hard the best as it’s funner to steal points from the computer. Expert muggins opportunity is extremely rare.

Very good to excellent cribbage app
VG to Excellent all around. I play it all the time. I only play the AI and it puts up a pretty good game, but like real people once you learn their style, they become predictable. The difference is that people than adapt/change their style and the AI doesn't. Hints it gives are ok to good for beginning to moderate players, but not expert advise and it has a few flaws in how it weights it's decision.
A couple of minor UI issues: it doesn't sort your cards, sometimes when I am too fast it doesn't register my count correctly and I hit ok before realizing it missed the second digit (1 PT instead of 16). It knows I missed counted and it would be nice when miscounted is large to be asked "are you sure". Would like it to track pegging points for each game to see if you out pegged (skill) opponent as opposed to lucky hands and cuts.

Worst Cribbage Game Ever
This game is the worst cribbage game ever made. I have bought it multiple times and deleted out of frustration for various reasons.
What makes it so horrible is the cards are not randomly dealt. While it can work out to your favor at times, the game decides who will win every time. I just deleted after playing 6 games in a row, against 6 different opponents and every one of them scored between 12 and 18 points...on every hand of every game. This has been happening at regular intervals over the last few months. As stated, it will happen for me at times, but I want true randomly generated cards, not “gimmee” wins or freebies.
I’ve played tens of thousands of games of cribbage over the last 40 years and never seen such a blatant exercise of interference and manipulation. And to any massive idiot that thinks “it can happen”, well you deserve the title I just gave you.

Poorly programmed
This is the most contrived, ridiculous, poorly programmed game of cribbage that I have ever seen. I've played this game over 60 years and have NEVER seen such asinine dealing. The programmers must be 20 year old nerds who've played cribbage for about a year.
On numerous occasions I'm forced to throw a 6 & 7 in the other player's crib only to have an 8 get cut. On line, it's ok. Against the computer, useless!
Also, at the upper expert levels it's almost impossible to win. The computer simply deals itself 12, 16 & 20 hands down the stretch.
Update: When you advance to higher levels, the computer makes it nearly impossible for you to win. It deals ridiculous hands to itself while giving you little, or nothing, to work win. As I said previously, it’s ok on line.
2nd update: I just played a game against an individual that I mugged half a dozen times, but guess who wins at the end!! Big hands at the end to the mathematically challenged!!!!!
3rd update: have now reached a point where the computer won’t let me win. If it looks as if I’m going to win, it pops a 24 hand and goes out. The little pinheads who programmed this piece of crap can’t stand criticism.

Cribbage Premium
I've enjoyed playing lots of solo cribbage games at all 4 levels. The expert level doesn't seem all that random as there are way too many 16, 20, and 24 hands. But I don't mind. What I do have a problem with is the fact that the leader board has been hacked and nothing has been done about it. No way anybody could have that many points. Other than that I think Cribbage Premium is a wonderful app and will continue to recommend it.

Training App
I learned the basics of cribbage years ago. However, over the years I had forgotten how to play the game. After downloading this app, using the Help, and playing numerous games, I feel as though my "cribbage brain" is on point again! It has been a great training app, and I feel ready to play the game with my husband again! By the way, he has been brushing up on his skills as well. Let the games begin! Great app!

Great cribbage game, esp when isolating!
This game is great - you can let the program count for you -but then, what are you learning? - or the program will count the ipad hand and you count your own - even getting deductions for incorrect counting! I have mostly played as single player, and have had trouble connecting to other random players on line. It would be fun to play a real person somewhere in this ether!
All the same, this is a great cribbage game!

Love that you can play this game with manual counting as well as muggins if you choose. Single player levels are great and you actually can win against the hard and expert games. Playing with a
friend is fantastic. Chat ability is also a nice feature. Definitely recommend this over other apps that do all the counting for you. Much better to learn the game well if you do your own counting.

Hugely skewed and Chat function doesn’t work
My friends and I got this game so we could continue our cribbage tournament during the Covid lockdown but my friend always has to be the one who invites me to play because of the way her Apple ID is setup on her devices. As a result I have discovered that this game is rigged in favor of the person who sends the invite. Where we would normally stay pretty on par, she now wins every single time. I’ve tested this theory out with another friend and if invite, I win and vice versa.
Additionally, we got this version so that we could use the chat function AND THE CHAT FUNCTION DOES NOT WORK. Maybe this game is ok if you like playing yourself but if you got this to play with others you should skip it altogether.

Like this Game!
I enjoying making a guess and then seeing what the hint will tell me. I’ve been playing cribbage for years and this game is pretty good. I noticed that if I get a 15 and last card it only gives me one point, I’ve typically played where I get 3 points in that case (unless I just keep missing it and I did get the points). I don’t like counting my own cards in case I make a mistake, then I get deducted points.
The only thing I don’t love is that. It’s hard to play others as you both have to sit and play the entire game and not use any others apps while playing, otherwise you forfeit and lose. I mean games aren’t that long, but to not be able to use other apps while playing is kind of frustrating.

Good software design - it’s like ...
... playing with a real person (even in single player mode). Also works really well when playing online with a real person opponent. Appreciate options for auto scoring or scoring yourself - and especially the muggins option; muggins feature has taught me to be very careful and thorough when scoring! Playing different levels truly seems like really different levels of difficulty. I like the “Hint” feature especially after I’ve decided (but not put cards in crib yet) which ones I think are best for the crib - sometimes “we” agree - sometimes the hint shows me an option I might otherwise not have considered. Only caveat about that is that when making suggestions, the “Hint” suggestions seem to ignore who benefits from the crib. This version cost $2.99 😞 but overall I think it was 3 bucks well spent!

What a cribbage player loves
This is a great app for anyone who loves cribbage but cannot always find a player when they want. Or just wants to practice. Lots of choices. The three difficulty levels all play well, the options to count cards or not are great. Sometimes you are more tired so both options help. There’s even a muggins mode to keep you on your toes. Speed of play is variable, too. Really quite nice.

Love it. Play all the time.
Love the game of cribbage and being able to play live games against other random players. I play on my iPad. I should give it 4 stars instead of 5, because it can be glitchy at times, but I truly love playing this game on this App when it is working properly. (Which is most of the time). Some of the glitches: Sometimes it will just shut down and the app closes in the middle of the game. Sometimes it is difficult to put the cards into the crib and at times the wrong cards go into the crib ruining the hand. At times the game just freezes and no cards can be moved. When the game seems to be glitchy, I delete the app and then reinstall it. I lose my stats when I do this, but I think it may help. Not sure though. I think it is great that the players can have a verbal conversation while playing even though I do not do it. Overall, I highly recommend this app and hope that the glitches get fixed.

Fun game, needs some tweaks
Have had this game less than a week. I like the multiplayer game but having issues inviting my friends. It brings up a txt from my phone as a invite. Other games I’ve played where you can invite friends to play a game, did it all in game.
That being said, it’s a very fun and addictive game. Doesn’t ask me for a bunch of in app purchases and best of all, has the option of automatic counting as well as doing it yourself. Make inviting friends easier and this would be a 5 star game.

This was our favorite iOS game-not anymore because we can’t play it together
My whole family played this game as a way to stay connected for the times that we cannot get together and play around the table. The recent loss of the ability to play turn days without everyone being on line at the same time has forced us to no longer play this game. Many of our family members are in different time zones, so we cannot expect everyone to be online at the same time.
Not sure what caused this, but unless it gets repaired quickly, we will be looking for another game with the ability to play across different time zones and different times.
Anyone out there have any recommendations?

What Have you Done!
Hello,
My whole family loved this game. It was a great way to connect with everyone in different places across the county and other countries. Making it an online only game has made this a no-go game as everyone can't be on-line at the same time do to work schedules and time zones differences. We all grew up playing cribbage as it was a family game being taught by my grandparents who had been taught by their grandparents. I guess we now have to find another cribbage app which will allow us to play again.

Use to be great
As with nearly 100% of apps on the iOS, this one has fallen victim to the horrible ads to unlock/proceed structure.
I had this app many years ago and enjoyed it immensely. Paid to unlock everything and had all kinds of nice features. Attempted many times to restore purchases to no avail.
All of those goals and achievements that were fun to work for are now blocked by time regulated forced ad videos.
The entire structure of all games now on the iOS are garbage. I think it’s nearly impossible to find a game, purchase it and be able to enjoy all the features without pop up ads and the pay to play mentality.
Use to be several games on my phone years ago and now next to nothing because of this structure. This game is no different then the rest of the garbage out there.
Lastly, all the people who complain about the computer playing unfair are simply poor players. I’m currently 14 and 2 against the expert level. If you’re getting beat regularly on expert, you simply do not understand the mathematics and strategy of this game.

Good game
One of the best cribbage apps out there even though it has a few weaknesses. At expert level, computer makes some hard to understand mistakes - I think, Why did it do that?
Can go through a series of games where cards are great and then another series where cards are terrible - just like real life.
Internet game didn't have skill level choice last time I played. Sometimes hard to find a partner. Don't know if chat works since no one has ever responded to me.

Love the turn based game option!
Great game. I was looking for a way to play cribbage with friends in a turn based format and downloaded this app. The turn based game option is great. It would be nice if the way to start a new match or invite someone was improved. It currently takes a lot of steps and requires leaving the app. A note appeared recently that the developers are doing away with the turn based game option in September. Please don’t get rid of it! I use this feature almost exclusively.

Love the game, but...
I really do like this game. I've been playing it for months and months, numerous times a day. The only real beef I have with it is that sometimes it doesn't see flushes. For example, I may have 4 hearts in my hand, but it won't see it. Then when I count those four points, it tells me I've overcounted and not only deducts those four points but also two more for overcounting. It won't do it all of the time, though. It's hit and miss.

Issue with point count
Today also seeing issues with normal point count. Explanation shows correct number but text on screen and actual points added to opponent computer are lower than actual points. How to fix this? Have screen shots if want to see them.

Hi. I love this game. Since the last update, however, there are issues with incorrect point count for the computer in single play.
the game does not count the correct points from the upturned card as part of the computer’s score. This is a recent issue.
I couldn’t insert the screen shot here but one example: computer had an 8 and 9 in the four card hand and the up card was 7. Computer got 2 points (presumably 7+8) but not additional 3 points for straight (7,8,9). Has happened other times too seems to be counting the up card correctly.
I have not noticed the count being wrong for my score, only the computer’s.

Not as Advertised
My father and I bought the game to play cribbage together as the description of the game touted of its multiplayer capabilities. It turned out that we would have to connect via Bluetooth or be on the same wireless network in order for the game to work. which doesn’t help us as we live far apart.
The app will let you play against strangers that are picked at random from all around the world and yet you can’t choose to play against your father who lives an hour down the road? I feel baited. Like I paid two dollars for a free trial as they dangle ultimate cribbage in front of my face.
The app definitely has redeeming qualities when it comes to single player games. With being able to customize cards boards pegs. Also has one of the more sophisticated cribbage AI’s I have ever played against.

The game is still going strong. Still deserving of a 5 star. I only play the expert level and I win about 60% of the games. Well I win 3 out of 5 games. I am pretty consistent with that.
I wonder if they can make it a little harder. And also perhaps and opportunity to play other players based on their rankings

I just found out there is an "explain" button that explains each step of the card process. It basically teaches how how the score process works. Each time you don't understand something, just hit "explain". It is on the same page you are playing - no need to go on to a different screen.
Now I know which cards to send to the crib and why. I just beat the easy level 121 to 81. I think I am almost ready for the next level :)

Now that I have played a few games, I need the rules, can't access them. I google the rules, but for some reason it is not exactly how this game is played.

Yet Another Update: love it still.
Another Update: a couple suggestions for improving turn based play. Minor chat ability would be fine but I'd love to see head-to-head stats in the Recent category of inviting "friends." Also, as others said, a quick rematch button would greatly improve UE instead of clicking eight (8!!!!!!) times to invite a rematch. Why does everybody show up as "Not Ranked?" The alerts aren't accurate most of the time - false alert badges pop up all the time. Oh, and sometimes you have to mug blindly because the other player's score doesn't show up - seems to be related to switching between games.
Update: love turn-based play! Wasn't thrilled with the update at first but have grown used to play being a bit slower than before and it looks much better. Also, finally hit my 29!
For all those that say the expert setting is too tough, you should consider playing hard until you're better at choosing your crib cards. There is no discernible advantage and I have a 61% win rate and am well ahead on skunking and double skunking. They make poor choices during card play that can easily be taken advantage of. Keep practicing.
