Trying to make this work
I have worked with this app and asked for support, but in my opinion, I have not received any support nor can I figure out how to use it based on what it claimed to be "simple". I thought I could have an app that I could simply put a client's name in and another client's name and at the end of the month give each client a printout of the work I have done, not so, it may be there, but their are no instructions or help from the developer, I will pass on this app.

A time saving app

Room for improvement
For $10 app is ok, but should be way better. Would be nice if I could take a picture of a receipt and attach it as an expense. Kind of pointless filling out a expense report when I can't attach a pic to it for proof. Also it would be nice to use gps to track mileage instead of entering odometer reading. It would be nice if I could just enter a job site and click time to start tracking time and also be able to click mileage to start tracking mileage instead of having to enter everything individually.

Program was by far better than any mileage, time, or expense tracker I had used. The only issue I have is that when its emailed to someone it doesn't appear the same as shown. I would like a pdf format.

Simple But Powerdul
Have this app for many years. This is the time tracking app that fits my needs completely. I would go try some new and fancy apps. Then, always come back to this app because the other apps make time entries a lot more complicated then it needs to be.
What I love the most about this app is its simplicity. But it has all the advanced features that I need: timers, tracking client, project, and tasks. And expense tracking (although I don't use it often). Also the ability to email and print reports. And it's the only app I've tried that lets me set decimal places for hours. The other apps only go to 0.25 for example. This app lets you set it to rounding to 0.3 (because this is the way our work time entry system would accept).
Some request: Please make it easier to edit Client, Project, and Task lists. In fact, I have no way of "editing" except to add a new one and delete the old one.
Also it would be nice to clock in and out at the home page where the lists of entries are.

Time, Expense, Mileage Tracking and Reporting made simple
I've been using this app for about 2 years. I'm a technology consultant that deals with multiple clients. TDF Tracker is so incredibly easy to use. The report function provides the right details that my clients need to see to support my invoices. I also have done some general construction contracting on the side and was able to track my workers time and produce reports that supported what their pay was for the week.
My wife uses it in the role of paid trustee of a trust to support her billing for time, expenses and mileage.
A very, very versatile application. Best of all, their is no online service that you need to pay a monthly fee for like most of the other time tracking options. If your an individual that just needs to track your own time and expenses or just a few other people, this is a GREAT way to go.

Finally!
I have been looking for an app to do what this one does for a long time. It's simple yet powerful and the interface is fairly intuitive. If you have multiple clients, with multiple projects or jobs and several tasks for each and need to track time, expenses and mileage then look no further.
Yes, the app is 10 bucks, but if you miss billing or getting reimbursed for 20 miles, one lunch or an hour of work, you've lost more than that.
The reports are clean, well laid out and have the option to preview before submitting or printing. The app also links to Dropbox for backup.
I've had probably 10 other apps trying to find one as perfect. Save yourself time and frustration and look no further than here.

Very Serviceable App
I've tried numerous time tracking apps, and found Time Tracker to be the most useful and easy to use. I don't need complex tracking; as a consultant, my primary need is keeping up with billable hours. Time Tracker does this simply without a lot of folderol.

This app is a must have for anybody that owns their own small business or that must turn in expense accounts.
It would be nice if you could attach an hourly rate, but this isn't an accounting app, it is the best tracking app I have seen.

Simple, straightforward and FAST
I’ve been using it for about 3 years for consulting, and absolutely love it. It’s a perfect on-the-go quick time-entry system with effective UI, ease of backup and emailable reports that come in .csv for easy importing. For the cheap price, it’s literally paid for itself thousands of times over.

Great resource tool!
TDF Tracker has been helpful tracking time for my "at home" job! I'm able to log down time, mileage and expenses which I never did before to calculate pricing. Instead of everything being filed on sticky notes, I can have it all organized through the system. Worth the price!!

Just about perfect
I've tried a lot of apps to keep track of time and mileage and none of them worked as easily for me as this one does. Can they make improvements? Sure, but only to nit picky things. The core of this app is solid.
Don't settle on another until you've tried this one. I think you'll like it as much as I do.

A great, fast and easy app
I have been using this app for several years. It is easy to master and really easy to work with in real time. It sends a email report of the months work which I can drop into excel or Numbers, customize to the fields I want, and it's ready to submit to the powers that be. A great help.

Great App!
I have recommended this app to several of my freelance coworkers, and everyone loves it. I've been using it for years to keep track of the work I do as an independent contractor, and it is a great, basic time keeping tool... It handles lunch breaks well, and incorporates mileage and expenses nicely. My only wish is for a simple way to get my report into my invoice template in Numbers via my iPad... Then it would be perfect!

I've been using this app for over a year and love it and I've got many other people to use it too. The only thing I wish it had was an ability to sync my entries on my iPad version with the version on my phone. I don't always have my iPad with me and that would be a great feature. If it had that, I'd give it 5 stars.

Very limited reporting
The reporting ability is very limited. An excel report with blank lines between every data line???? Give me a break. Expect to do lots of pivot table work in excel if u want to use the data.

Great app for hourly contracts!
This is an excellent application for any contractor who is on the hourly basis or on the run. It gives me the liberty to choose specific times, track my mileage efficiently, and a very organized method to keep notes on what you did throughout the work day.
My only complaints are that for what you get, it was a little pricy! That, and the interface is a little complicated at first.
Though its competitor, OfficeTime may seem like a cleaner, more intuitive app for your hourly recording solution, the TDF Time Tracker has a superior export functionality where I simply can export it directly to email or as an attachment and it allocates and organizes everything for me! Not the case with OfficeTime.
Maybe if they clean up TDF a bit more and lower the price would I give it 5 stars.

Keeps track of all I'd forget, and proves it!
Along with a good calendar and appointment scheduler, this app keeps track of my time spent, not only for proper billing, but to show accurately where the week went. Easy to establish categories and jobs, and you can quickly email the proof of your busyness to anyone who questions where you spent your time. This app can save a project when cuts come by quickly showing the project's need by proving the time invested.

Still Impressed
I just wanted to add another review for this app. I've been using it for almost four years now in my job as an IT consultant. Over the years, I've made a few requests and have been amazed at the quick response from the developer and how fast the requested changes were made.
It has been indispensable for my multiple daily entries, tax time for mileage and expense, and for exporting to my billing program. Simplicity is truly the key as I can do everything I need from the exported file.

I would give you guys a 5 star if I was using an iPhone 4/4s but this app crashes every other time on iPhone 5, I think that an app that cost almost $10 needs more updates, don't you think? I bought this app when I had my iPhone 4s, I still need it on my iPhone 5... Either update it or give me my money back...

As a partner in an architectural firm I am constantly jumping from project to project, phase to phase, etc. This program let's me keep accurate time sheets for each client with little or no guesswork or brain strain. I looked for an app like this for months and since I found it I have loved it! The problem is that we have recently converted our bookkeeping system to QuickBooks. The Time tracker program is not compatible with the QB invoicing system and this requires me to use Ebillity as a time tracking system. I HATE IT!!!!!!! Help me please,please, please?

Incomplete
This is the most expensive and incomplete expense app I have purchased. It does not provide the amount of mileage expense owed for a trip, ie, .55, .14, etc, so I bought Biz Tracker which was almost half the price and provides what I need.

Worth the price Easy to use. Convenient, well thought out. Wish it had automatic daily backup to cloud service and a sound-out chime when time tracking is running (user selectable every 15-, 30-, 60-, or 90-minutes) for better time management and to remind users to stop the timer (something I still forget to do). We have a IT Consulting business and keeping track of billable time has always been an issue. This app is a easy way to track everyones time in the field and get the reports into billing system.

Good app
TDF tracker tracks time, expenses, and mileage all in one application. It works well for me as a consultant because of its flexibility. On any given day, I can add time, mileage, and expenses for a variety of different clients. I can add notes to each entry and categorize each according to project and/or task.
I like the comprehensive report that I can email to myself in an Excel-readable format, which I can then modify and import into any program I like. The report provides a useful summary up front.
There're a couple of small changes I would like to see:
- I would like to be able to track mileage to tenths of a mile.
- I would like to be able to set the start time, and then start the timer. This would be handy if I remember after the fact that I need to start the timer. Right now, I can either start the timer, which leaves the end time open, or set the start time which then guesses at the end time, locking in the timer.
I recommend this app for freelancers who do a variety of different things for a variety of different clients.

I had gotten a little sloppy with my task tracking and needed an app that would prevent me from having to reconstruct my day-to-day activities at month end. I tried a couple others that were cumbersome at best before I found this one. It works perfectly for my business & makes month-end invoicing a breeze, plus it even tracks my mileage! Thank you!

After 18 months . . .
. . . I still love this app. I am a sole practitioner and bill by the hour (or part thereof). I've been through any number of paper and smart phone based time tracking systems. This is the ONLY one that really works for me. EVERYTHING else I had tried was just too laborious to use for 10 minute tasks, so a LOT went unbilled. This has paid for itself hundreds of times over.
Update a year after the above review: STILL love this app. Not only is it easy to record my fractional hour billables but, at the end of the month, the Reports save me about a half day in getting everything into Quickbooks and billed

I've tried many apps for logging time and mileage bit this is far the best one. I'm on the road and have to keep track of my jobs and the mileage with this it's easy and when the boss needs info on one of the jobs I just generate a report to give to him. You can waste your time trying other apps or just get one and keep great logs.

Good start!!!
I don't bill by the hour. I work in a network mktg company & this app has been nice for tracking the personal hours, mileage & expenses I put into growing my business & client base.
It would be great if the app would export mileage & expenses directly into Turbo Tax (or similar).
Oh...lightbulb...what if it could recognize a text, email or call being sent/made to a particular client or business partner that is already in your TDF Tracker app & input that info into the TDF Tracker for you. Then instead of having to send an email, and go back into TDF to log all the info, we could just click "confirm" if we agree with the suggested entry.
Right now when I have back to back calls, emails, texts, etc., it can be time consuming to have to go into TDF & log all the details in & sometimes the time is forgotten & not logged at all. It would just make a more accurate picture of my business for me & what is actually taking place in a day.
Also, I would love it to include client data management....bday reminders, personal contact info for the clients. I've added on a separate client app, but that is cumbersome when I need to streamline things.

Great design, but no integration?
After reading all the rave reviews, I thought this app would give me exactly what I needed. Sure, it cost a bit more than some of the other time tracking apps out there, but surely the slight difference in cost was reflective of the usefulness of the app?
Yes, you can enter hours worked. Yes, you can enter mileage and other expenses. But there is no way to set up a job at a billable rate and have the app do all the calculations for you. How was this overlooked? I want to be able to set up time with an hourly cost associated with that time, so that (as a contract designer) I can easily start and stop the time I work on a project, as well as how much that billable time adds up to.
I'd also prefer to have a choice of views, such as by client or project, not just by date.
Until these crucial pieces are integrated, I cannot in good conscious recommend this app or give it the 5 stars I'm sure the developers deserve for their hard work.

For the many suggestions requested, it appears TDF may be in the process of implementing a new dynamic build.
TDF has always been my most used and valuable App, but soon it will completely outclass anything like it in Apples App Store. They ARE listening, and our suggestions are seriously taken into consideration.

Use this all the time, just got better in v1.6
The ability to view items on the calendar and quickly navigate to a given date is very useful, and the ability to see the total time spent on that day in the footer makes reviewing entries very quick and easy. Dropbox sync is a welcomed addition and makes backup/restore much easier than emailing the backups.
An already powerful/user friendly app for tracking time with detailed reporting has gotten even better with the new updates in v1.6

Brilliant! Perfect for consultants, designers, contractors
As a decorator, home-stager and independent consultant I have had difficulty keeping track of my time, mileage and expenses when working for multiple clients, let alone one! I hated having to lug around notebooks that carried random notes "client X = 9:00 - ???" because while I was able to remember when starting something, I forgot when I stopped or took a break. With this APP, I have a detailed report for each client and it takes me 2-seconds to turn the timer on or off. I have a much more accurate understanding of my time allotment per client; now I use it to track projects that aren't work related too! Worth the money spent, totally!!!
To programmers: can you please come up with a task manager as handy as this one? Thanks!

My business requires billing similar to a law office. Because of my schedule involving many different Attorneys and clients in the same day, I found myself forgetting to log all billable hours, thus losing a lot of income. I was looking for an app to track, time,expenses,mileage, when someone recommended TDF Tracker! Incredible app! I have paid for my new iPad in a few short weeks because of better time tracking and billing. PLEASE make app available for my MacBook and PC! Love it!

Well done, does what it says it will
I tried at least 5 other similar apps before finding Tracker. The others were either tried to do too much or were too cumbersome to use regularly. I found that I gave up entries after a few days because it was just a pain to do them. Not so with this app. Entries are simple as is creating new projects and tasks. Reporting is also simple and flexible. Thanks for a powerful app that I actually use.

I am an attorney and had been looking for an app that would integrate my time billing, expenses and mileage. All of the software I have heretofore used was needlessly complex and riddled with useless features. This application, in contrast, is nothing short of perfect. Very good support for hourly consulting
I have had this app for a while, but only recently began getting the full use out of it. If you track your time and expenses in this app, it will produce a report that basically is almost your invoice. It's intuitive, and has nearly all the features one needs for an individual consulting practice. Very nice indeed. Saves a lot of time.

Loving It
YES! Finally, I can concentrate on the Project, Client and Trip all in ONE Application and it doesn't need me to baby sit. All you do is plug in the details (things like names etc are saved for future use) and "boom" TDF tracker does the rest! I have found it stressful in the past having to MANUALLY write down mileage for every trip, but with this APP your tax preparer and employer will be impressed. I don't normally write reviews, but because this is simple, useful, and automatically keeps track of timed projects and meetings I JUST HAD to share this info for those who may be considering. Now there are not a lot of bells and whistles with this application - But it gets the job done and professionally. In the future, it would be nice to have some customizable drop-down options such as (Project, Meeting, Conference, Training, etc...)

I browsed all the business apps looking for an application that tracks hours mileage and expenses. I picked this one because it was intuitive, easy to use and easily backs up from my Ipad and iPhone to my desktop. To invoice my clients I export to email and transfer the data to my Pages invoice and include the Tracker data as my documentation.
I recommend it.

Essential app
I use this app daily to manage my consulting business. It makes invoicing easier and will help with my tax reporting as well. I only wish I could create presets for repetitive tasks as i have frequent time, expenses and mileage when working on a project so it would be great to select from a preset for example. A CSV export would be handy. But this doesn't prevent me from recommending it.

Perfectly simple
I send my hours to my bookkeeper each week to prepare my invoices: takes 30 seconds. Easy to track individual clients / projects for nice detailed invoices without any back-and-forth conversations with my bookkeeper, and I no longer waste time painfully adding up hours from my calendar + memory.
Entering mileage as I accrue is very efficient, for expenses I still use my business CC statement but this is great for paper checks / cash expenses--doesn't eliminate the need for receipts and invoices, DOES eliminate the need for using that pile of receipts to add up expenses!
Overall it has made my life much more organized, I'm invoicing all clients in a timely manner and I'm not loathing my next income tax filing. Yay!!!

Really excellent app!!
I don't write reviews for apps. But I had toake an exception for this one. This is a well written app. What I like the most about it is that, I could set the timer going for a project I'm working on and the close the app and work on other things on my phone or EVEN turn off the screen of my iPhone and the timer would be running in the back ground. WOW!

I have used this tool for about a month in my new consulting role, and it is a great app for my needs. I have multiple clients in a day with multiple mileage entries and some expenses. All get wrapped up nicely by day, week, month. Easy to bill my clients from, and I use the note section to provide additional backup for my activity. Highly recommend!

Finally What I Was Looking For!!
I was previously using TimeTracker until a recent update started erasing my notes. I tried out about a dozen time tracking apps and this by far was the best one for my needs which included being able to easily track time by client, send reports by client, send reports by project, send reports by date, store client names, store project names, and provide an easy to use decent looking interface. I can't believe there are so many time tracking apps that are useless... It was refreshing to use this app!

Good for people on the go
Great app for consultants. Use it all the time to track my hours, mileage, and items bought. Much better than notebook and pencil. I email reports for my tax guy and never an IRS problem. The only problem I had was going back to a date that was skipped over because it won't allow it, so be careful to enter daily.

Ok app but not great
What am I missing ???? I can't believe all the great reviews posted here. This app is pretty simplistic and certainly not worth $10--$2 or $3 would be more appropriate. As one other review noted the expense tracking should provide more fields. Also I was expecting that I could input an hourly rate for timed tasks but sadly that feature is missing. The best function is the ability to easily export to excel, where I can then do the calculations and inputs that should have been baked in to the app.

Needs a lot of improvement
I'll start with the good points:
1. It will create a report and allow you to export it by emailing
2. The report format is a .CSV file that you can open in Excel
3. It's the best expense app I've found for the iPhone - but that isn't saying much
Now the weaknesses
There are very few expense fields - all it has is the date, client, project, amount, expense type and a notes field. I need a lot more fields like:
1. Location of expense
2. Report number field
3. Currency (Euros, Yen, etc)
4. Exchange rate
5. Vendor (restaurant, hotel, airline, etc)
6. Client name (person's name for entertainment expense)
7. Client title or function
8. Receipt ID (number or file name)
As it is, the only way to add this extra information is using the Note field; but that's a lousy way to do data entry.
It would also be nice if there was a field for the mileage reimbursement rate. This isn't absolutely necessary because it can be added in Excel when the report is export to my computer, but why not?
This program seems to be well written and easy to use, but really lacks features, especially considering the high price (by iPhone app standards).
I won't be using this app as currently written. I recommend buying Documents-to-Go and making a simple spreadsheet to record expenses.

Best App to track time
I work in a few places abd this is so easy to use and very powerful. I like that you can create a summary if a certain time period and email it to someone as an invoice or I can track real quick how much time I put into a client for the month or week or customize the dates to figure it out. I have used it now for almost one year and definitely would recommend it to a contractor or of that sort. Don't regret it.

It just works.
This app is the best software I've ever used for time tracking and billing. Simple interface, easy report generation. That means I actually use it throughout the day rather than sitting down later and try to remember. Gave it only 4 stars because the inability to add photos and audio notes to items.

Have tried dozens of time apps before finding this one. Easy to use. Great export summaries. Quick response from developer when needed. Even though it is a high price I consider it a bargain. All our office staff now use this app for time tracking and billing. Easy to just add the time rather than using a timer. Simply the best. We highly recommend it.

Liked it in '09. Don't like it in '10. Reasons why...
I started using this to keep track of my time and miles starting around Oct-Nov '09. Loved it as it helped me keep track of the hours worked and the miles driven on a every week, monthly or (Other) any custom date basis. Since the new year, it would not allow me to use the custom date to report the hours worked starting any date in '09, i.e. start October 01 '09 - end January 25 '10. Just can't select October '09. It would roll over to a month in '10. That means you just can't get a report for the # of hours worked on a Fiscal year basis. Very frustating.
The other thing I noticed is that it is very bad at tracking miles if you use two vehicles. The Autofill - Last Entry, does not work if you have used two vehicles. It keeps putting in the highest mileage from one of the vehicles even though you have switched to the lower mileage vehicle. The entry has to be modified every day to reflect the correct mileage for the lower mileage vehicle. Again very frustating.
Hope it gets fixed or I will have to look a better product.

Outstanding
I have reviewed several dailing timekeeping/billing apps and this one hit the nail on the head. I'm a contract IT professional and needed to be able to outline daily projects/task for multiple clients. This app is money in the bank. This allows me to input everything I need and more. Also, the "and more" doesn't get in the way and make the app cumbersome. GREAT JOB. The only thing I would suggest is adding the ability to export the report into a spreadsheet, or some other form of document.

Outstanding time tracker
Completely replaced the expensive desktop time tracking app I've used for years. That was good, but this is more convenient and easier to use.
The email reports are what really set TDF Time apart, though. Amazingly fast, beautifully formatted, they make billing a piece of cake instead of a dreaded chore.

Keeps my ducks right in line
This tool is perfect for my contract work. Time, Expenses, Mileage, all assignable in different ways following the hierarchy of Client/Project/Task with optional notes. I collect pay on a 2 week period, and it's a snap to email a detailed report outlining the various hours I've billed and on which project. This is indispensable, as I charge varying rates depending on the skills used. Great job, TDF. I have found no bugs in my operation of it.

All I was looking for
It does everything it says. I work on multiple projects every day. This requires accounting of time, expenses incurred, and milage. This does it all easily. The app does have a 1 minor problem: occasionally once I enter info it won't allow me to go back to the input list. I have to close out and come back in.
If I could add one thing to it it would be the ability to add a photo when I have a receipt.
