Great sudoku app. Would like to see selective filling in of pencil marks based on digits or columns or rows. Compared to the others this is heads and shoulders above.
Developers are responsive to bugs as iOS changes. It’s everything you could ask for.

Best Sudoku for iOS
I’ve tried perhaps a dozen different versions of this game, and this is by far most flexible of the bunch. You can configure it to provide varying degrees of assistance. If you ask for hints, it not only gives the result of the hint, but also explains how it was done.
Puzzles come in a range of difficult, and you can bring in your own.
If someone knows of a better version, I’d like to hear about it, because I haven’t seen it.

% win is completely flawed for I can hardly get win percentages above 40. Players must play games over and over to get lower scores.

Great Sudoku with a really excellent tutorial on playing difficult games but it copies and pastes whatever is in your iPhone clipboard. Creepy and invasive.

Ditto to the comment re: best Sudoku ever.
I too love the hint feature, because I learn so much from it. One suggestion to developers: some hints go directly to solution, while others explain first and then show the solution. I prefer the two-step approach. Going slowly helps me learn the rationale better.
Improvement I’d like to see? The Hint feature takes you to one and only one next move when, in fact, there frequently are several equally good next moves available. I wish app would allow me to see all of them.

Accesses clipboard every time app is opened or closed
I am deleting this app. It is pasting from my clipboard every time it is opened or closed. I don’t know why it is doing this but I am certain it does not need to know the items I placed in the clipboard prior to opening the app.

It used to have a feature where the user could import an image of a puzzle from either the camera or photos. Now that function crashes the entire app

Broken with newest update
This used to be the best Sudoku game available. The newest update has introduced a memory leak that causes it to crash repeatedly and makes it impossible to add games from the camera or photo library. Those are the features we got this app for. I suggest trying another, or even the free version of this one.

Seems like I’ve been playing this app for years. It’s so well designed. Perhaps a little too symmetrical, but you don’t think about that while playing. I’ve tried many sudoku versions, but this is the best for me.

Win every game
Always a challenge. Did not know that I was so competitive. Love that I get feedback every game to determine how I am doing against myself as well as others. I dream of Sudoku. I start at moderate and move up. A fun, short game to play. I play about five games a day. Not lots of time, but lots of fun.

Best Sudoku Adventure!
As I am approaching 20,000 games played, I am amazed at how one version of Sudoku can keep a master and a novices interest day after day. I play 10 levels every day from mild to maelstrom and the challenge is incredible. Great job! You are the best!

Love this game
Update—I still love this game, and think it is the best version, but the latest update broke the ability to play a game from your photo library, which I use all the time to play the Sudoku from my digital newspaper.
I am really impressed by all the features, especially the capability to enter your own puzzle from somewhere else. This really is the best Sudoko game by far. No need to try any others. The paid version is worth it.

Something happened
When importing a game from photo library, the app crashed and restarts. Using iPad Pro and last east operating system. Love the app, used it daily took screen shot of daily newspaper sudoku games to play on the iPad. Hope you can fix the problem that started last week.

Best I've Used For Improving - but a glitch!
Original review below. Still a great app, but Scan from Camera, and Photo Library are currently not working.
Really like how much you can configure this to provide the level of support I need. But even better are the highly detailed explanations available when you ask for a hint. I thought I was pretty good at Sudoku, but based on how I stack up against other players' times, I'm average at best.

Scan feature crashes
I am a long time fan of this app, it’s perfect for my daily sudoku competition with my wife (who must have hers on paper)- so for me it’s just to scan her puzzle and get started. But no more...since the latest update, the app crashes every time as soon as I try to scan a puzzle from eg. a magazine.

Newest Update Is Bad
I’ve had this game for over ten years and have loved it. Until the latest update. Now wild card games no longer work and the settings aren’t saved for more than one game in a row unless you close the app and reopen.
Please fix these problems!

Updated to version 5.3 yesterday. Now app crashes when I select ‘use photo’ in Scan from Camera.

Latest update will not allow photos of puzzles to work on I-phone X. Camera switches out of puzzle instead of entering.

Update 5.2
After update to 5.2, using iOS 14.2, the Scan from Camera and From Photo Library no longer work. The app disappears and I can get it back by going to the App Switcher but the puzzle didn’t load.

What happened to this app?
The display looks horrible with the latest update, so much blank space. I’m not sure what the thought process was here but I feel like we went way backwards here. Hard to even use now it’s so off putting.
