I've played this on older desktops as well as the Kindle tablet; and the quality is much better on an iPad. This is a game my parents taught me when I was 8 years old (to help me work on basic math and detail matching. Like chess, there are a myriad of possibilities. This is a best in class FreeCell game, which I enjoy enough to have paid the $4.99 for the ad-free version. My only complaint is that it requires an internet connection to start a new game unless you pick a random deal instead of a winning deal. I did not expect that when I bought ad-free version. I travel often enough on planes and/or no coverage areas that this is a real annoyance.

Great way to pass time while waiting for someone.

When I am waiting at an appointment this keeps my brain active but at the same time it's relaxing. I use it to help me relax so I can go to sleep at night. It's an overall great game.

I have been playing Free Cell for years and I never seem to grow tired of it. I usually play 3 games, and the other two are replaced after a while (right now they are Spider and Algerian Patience). Free Cell remains my favorite, always fun and challenging to (okay, 😂 sometimes a little frustrating - i can't win them all!)

I am having fun with this app, for me it is a happy combination of the game I enjoy with the level of automation that I want, thanks to their many Settings options. Their customer support is exceptional: they replied quickly and with all the information clearly presented so that my issue could be resolved. Am I a fan of this app and the team behind it -- you bet!

As the title says, this is a good solid game. I'm surprised at how smoothly everything works: I find that most "freebie" games have more than their share of glitches but I have had nothing but good results with this game

Fun game. I won't quit until I win. Many times this means I use undo until I am back into a position or moving three or more cards. It requires that you manipulate what you see.

I've always liked the FreeCell game. I really love the daily goals. Working the goals forced me out of my tried-and-true strategies and helped me develop new ones. I've beaten my own records several times now.

I've been playing free cell for several years, finally got so sick & tired of ads , that I made the move to purchase this version, no ads no interruption. I'm so thrilled to bring up a game and completely absorb my self to beat the game. I think the only improvement would be to give stats on a game that I fail to beat ,how many people have beaten and in what amount of time. Beating a game in less than minute,very difficult.

This is the best version of the game, that I have found. Period.

This version of FreeCell keeps getting better. As a matter of fact, I really like all of the MobilityWare games I have. Love the goals and levels.

Much better than old version, relies more on the number of cards rather than time.

I don't like the new update for a couple of reasons but I still like MobilityWare better than the Microsoft PC games.

I really don't like the panel at the bottom of the screen. It's not as easy to check Statistics and I don't like the design/graphics.

I also don't like it when you back out of the game and when you return you can't use Undo without the timer starting again. That was my way of 'cheating' before. ;)

I've always liked freecell. After trying several of the free versions it became clear to me that paying the small price for this ap would be worthwhile. So far it had worked flawlessly. Play every day, no crashes or glitches. Watch out for the "tap to move" - if there are more than one possible places to move to it usually picks the least advantageous play, costing you an additional move.

My wife and I play the same deal against each other, (Best score, scores a point, if you don't complete the game opponent gets two points). This game is the best! We used to play it while she was in the Philippines and I was in the US. Just a fantastic app! Thank you. I liked it so much, I paid to remove the ads, I think it was only $1.00? What a value! Keep up the good work!

This was one of my favorite card games until the recent changes made to the game. I am extremely disappointed in the changes and would give 5 stars just to have it restored to the way it was. It is annoying to constantly be asked what level I want to be on or the stupid new point system. Don't fix it when it's not broke. This game used to be relaxing, but not anymore. I will not recommend this game to anymore of my friends. I hope you will fix this and stop the annoying games that pop up after each completed play. I

Like the new daily goals. Stop with random deal daily goals every day. I have won thousands of games without a loss. This is because I play winning deals. I like games I know you can win. I don't want to play a game that is impossible to win and ruin my streak. Come with some other goal ideas

Freecell is freecell. The game itself hasn't changed since 1978. The developers haven't made it harder or easier. The cards are what they are. Yet they took an understated, elegant format that was already visually appealing and have completely changed it into an overly bright, cluttered, and wholly unappealing format whose trendy elements were out of date two years ago. The format used to be quiet and sophisticated. Now it's loud and child-like. Utterly disappointed. It would be nice to have the (paid) option to return to the old format.

This version of Free cell has turned itself into a MONSTER game with it's new revamping to a graduated difficulty format. Previous, I have always clumped along winning some and losing a lot of others. Now the graduated system is actually training me by offering me increasingly difficult games. I am now able to develop my skills while solving increasingly difficult games. And I am winning, winning, winning!! What a fantastic version this has become.

I'm loving the new update! I like the challenges. I also like that you can play consecutive games and it will keep count for you. I started some time back with game 1 and have been playing consecutively since then. Sometimes I would lose count and have to try to remember the ballpark number of the game I was on. The new update keeps track for me!

I play this game daily and love the update that allows the next sequential game to load automatically without having to keep track and enter the number manually--hooray! The display is visually pleasing but I am not interested in the "reward". Just show my score and load the next game. Knowing the difficulty level would be fun as well as having the "You Won" animation be linked to that level of difficulty. I haven't encountered any problems with the new version (December 2016).

Yes - I like the visuals, the additions of goals to achieve, and the graphics with the update. Mobilityware continues to please with this version of Freecell! Great graphics, player options that put you in control of the game, and the Daily Challenge. I'll be looking for other game apps from this team in days to come. Now, Mobilityware, your challenge is do similar updates to your other solitaire games such as Pyramid and TriPeaks. Why not add a new solitaire game while you're at it?!

I liked the game better before update. This version freezes. I have taken the app off all but one of my devices. Before the update it was a five star app. I used to play it regularly. Not anymore. The 'levels' feature now part of the game are useless since in order to fix the app once it freezes, you have to delete the app, then add it again, taking you back to the beginning level. So what is the point?

I play this game for relaxation. When I choose "Winning Deal", I know that it can be solved and the challenge is to find the best way.

It is also fun to get a high score. Getting high scores requires playing the same game multiple times until I find the quickest way to win it.

I do like some of the new things in the update, but dislike others. I would really like to see something that indicates the difficulty level of each deal, as well as your ID mentioned if you get a new low # of moves in a deal. Too much weight is given to how fast a deal is solved, and how strategically it is done is completely ignored.

This app is an absolutely superb production, in the way it displays, in the extremely ingenious graphics. I have this game in the "solitaire till dawn" version on my Mac, and that is also an extraordinary piece of software. In certain respects, I like this app better, particularly in the way it suggests on an ongoing basis the movements that can be made. Great piece of work.

I still like this game and play it regularly, but the update seems more targeted at "monetizing" the app as opposed to providing a better user experience. Here's changes that would improve the latter:

1. Ending animations, after a win, that are tied to how well you did, and are better and more interesting the better you did in the game. Gives you something to shoot for.

2. Something that indicates the difficulty level of a board.

3. Merging 1 and 2 above such that a great game on a higher difficulty board produces a super animation at the end.

4. Adding a setting that allows you to turn the prompt asking whether to auto-finish or not off, and to automatically auto-finish at that point.

5. Adding a history/save function so you can see the game codes and scores/times of the games you've played, and replay any you wish to.

You can not get a better game for your phone. In this version you can select any game by number. That way, when you find one that is really hard you can share your data with a friend for comparison. The new version is a little more glitzy than the old one, but it is basically the same solid programming.

No problems, no ads, perfect game. I challenge myself before I go to bed to beat a certain score. Am hoping you add a daily challenge to this like you have for solitaire in the future. I actually purchased the bundle... would love the daily challenge if possible on all of them, maybe a way to challenge friends on scores through Game Center for the day?

While I find it impossible to achieve one of the extremely high scores but I've learned to let go of that goal & enjoy the hunt for a solution. I've averaged @ 87% wins w/o redo. In the hunt for a workable solution after backing up to the start, I often just let go & & trust the flow. A Zen-thing, I'm guessing.

Spend the money and get rid of those ridiculously long ads. They are getting longer and longer. If it is a ploy to con you into buying the ad free version, it worked on me, but it was definitely better that waiting and waiting. Now play without interruption. Play more games in less time. I wished they added "average moves". If you have average time, why not moves? Worth having.

This is a self-adapting game that eases off on difficulty when a game takes you too many replays to solve or you scroll past several hard looking games. Conversely, it gives you harder games when it sees you're really good. I like that because some days I'm sharp and others not so much so I like a game that respects my ability. The games are never too easy or boring. Always a challenge but some are far more difficult that others. Solitaire had proven among my senior friends and family members to stave off dementia and short term memory loss. It definitely works that way for me if I play daily and the more games I play the better and sharper my thinking stays. I am a writer and need my brain high functioning. I will be 60 in April and need my brain to keep me independent, active, creative, and constructive for the next 40 years. Also the support team for this company is kind, responsive, personable, and caring aside from obviously being great app developers. So I will look at there future apps as well.

SUGGESTION: If the seniors you love don't already play, buy them an iPhone and install this app and I guarantee there quality of life will only improve as will short term memory. Do however be careful not to offend them because with short term memory increasingly sharp we do tend to hold a grudge longer simply because we no longer forget what you did! Bahahahaha!

FreeCell is often a very challenging game, requiring many undos or restarts, but I believe every deal is solvable. This implementation is clean, with a nice selection of card graphic displays after winning. The game requires more agility and focus than the Canfield-like games, so it's not something to play when you're tired.

I almost quit playing the game due to the tricky ads. Contacted the developer and was given the url to the paid version, which by the way should have been shown in the free version.

In any case, it's well worth a mere 99 cents to play a very pleasant game, and free cell is my only stop for a good game of solitaire.

If I have one complaint, and this is the reason for the missing fifth star, it would be that a difficult game can be scored low due to the longer time it takes to solve the puzzle. Fortunately, the scoring is not my main purpose in playing the game anyway.

This is a great app. The free version works just like the paid app, except that each new game is preceded by an ad. But every now and then an ad couldn't be closed. When that happened I'd have to close the app then reopen it -- an annoyance. I bought the paid version, and it works flawlessly.

This is an online game I've been playing for decades. In the middle of a business conundrum, I will pause and play a quick, mind-clearing game(or two), then return to work with fresh eyes on the problem. It's good that someone else keeps score for me or I'd never realize when I've just passed my last system accomplishment. Thank you!

Is there a way to stop the new "you don't have enough space to move these cards" message? It annoys me. I go for speed and the messages are distracting and slow me down. If my cards don't move when I tap them, then it's obvious I don't have space to move them. I don't need a message telling me that.

This is one of my favorite games to play. I have it on my iPhone and my Droid tablet, but I have the "free" version on my tablet. Take my advice.... Pay the .99 cents and enjoy the game without all the pop-up ads. They even come in video format now. It wastes so much time loading and getting to the point where you can X it out, not to mention ads pop up EVERY TIME you start a new game, not just when open the app. The paid version is cheaper and less frustrating in the long run.

I purchased an earlier version of this game and found that it no longer ran correctly when I updated my iPad to iOS 8. No updates for iOS 8 compatibility were offered by the App Store, as they were for my other purchased apps. Instead, I had to repurchase the game to get the latest version.

Excellent Game! One of my personal favorites! I have played it for many years and I totally believe this version is by far the best! When I'm bored, this my Go - To Game hands down! Love it! Would highly recommend it to people who like to keep your minds stimulated and slow down memory loss either before you start having problems with it or to help it get better if you've already begun having some issues with it.

Popup ads make this all but unuseable. Ads frequently force you out of the game and open safari. You have to then restart the game. Also there is no standard way to dismiss ads. This is different than when this app first came out. I am not sure why advertisers want to make you view ads that are irritants, but I suppose someone is getting money for forcing you to view ads for products you would never buy.

A reasonable approach is where this app started: Have a consistent fashion for dismissing ads that you are not interested in and totally skip the ads that force you to leave the game, or force you to watch a video before you can use the game. Other than that this simple app is ok.

I love this app BUT: Why did you add an extra step to the Select Game option in the upgraded version?!? To select a game you now have to delete EACH DIGIT in the game number window before you can enter a game number!!!! Before this you merely had to touch the game number window and the window would clear. The bigger question is why is there a number in that window to begin with, but I got used to that. Now it's totally frustrating. Can we fix that?

The card faces are difficult to read for those of us with aging eyes. Please add an option for larger numbers! Also, the green background can be a bit harsh in low light, so it would be really nice to be able to choose other colors. Otherwise, a fun classic game that passes the time when reading isn't a great option.

I had to take FreeCell off my computer it was so addictive. This version runs well enough to have the same effect. I prefer a maximum of 1 undo and would like to have such options and fuller report of results. The game occasionally makes a weird move or hangs up, but only minor nuisance. No problem. Definitely worth the cost.

First know that I love the game, and this review is about this implementation. It's great. The tap-to-move mostly does what I want. I love that I can drag a stack when I see there are enough freecells (and open slots). I like the info bar which has just the right amount of info. This app was very well thought out. After a week or so of ads in the free version I bought the app and got rid of the adds.

I've tried a number of solitaire games, and have been impressed with the visual appearance and ease of use of those from MobilityWare. Of all those I've tried, FreeCell has the best balance among challenge, randomness, and strategy. Most of the deals are winnable, but only if you think well ahead. Since all the cards are visible at the start of play, there's no need for "pre-cognition" of whether a particular card will turn up later in play, or remain forever hidden.

I like the Auto-completion feature, which does the routine play, once the problem has been solved, and the honest Hint feature that confirms if there are no useful plays remaining.

This app deserves a ten star rating. It is worth the money. Very stable, and works great with I O S 6. This app never crashed on me during play. This app is a very addicting game. Hard to put down. There are several difficulties to choose from. You can also compete on game center. There are high score and total wins leader boards. You can even earn more achievements than the other games. Best free cell app on the App Store.

The MobilityWare support team is very curious and responds to any issues you may have with their apps. I love the features in this app. You can even play windows setups, but watch out, some of the windows setups are unsolvable. I highly recommend this app. It is addicting. I can't put it down. It is an enjoyable challenge. A must have card game for you solitaire lovers. I can play for hours, and enjoy this game.

Perfect game to play while you are waiting for something or someone. Play while waiting at doctor's office, car wash, picking up kids from where ever! Love how Tap Move makes move for you without you having to drag to correct pile or have to tap again for where you want card to go. Love it!

Have been addicted to Freecell for a long time & have played it on many platforms, & feel this one plays best. Just switched from the free app to the paid one to get rid of the ads, should have done it sooner. It would be interesting if the score could be based on time & # of moves as an option. Options to modify the look of the app, ie. the background etc. might be nice for a change of pace, but as I said, I'm already addicted!

It's simple, clean, and looks good. There aren't a ton of options. For example, there aren't a ton of garish, ugly skins that you'd never use or a bunch of card stacking options that make the game less enjoyable.

However moves are smooth, cards readable, and game play is quick. My only complaint are the newly implemented animations when you win a game. Fortunately you can cut them short and get on the next game.

Now has game center integration. I like playing the Winnable Games and compare my time against others.

This is the solitaire game that relies more on skill than on luck. This version provides ease of use and convenient features like auto complete but doesn't take the process out of the player's control. The skill required can be developed and improved over time and repetition. Comparison with other players nationally lends a competitive nature to the game.

Love the autoplay of cards (rarely need to click twice to move a card or stack). Good variety of options. Great history of free cell in help doc, including msft's mistaken claim that all games are winnable. Thumbs way up.

Minor bugs/wishes: can't reset stats (best time this month would be an ok alternative). Being able to email or share a game # would be nice-- friends and I share esp. easy or unwinnable-seeming games.

Also, we're playing games sequentially. Wish game had option to track my last game(s) # or let me go to next/prev game #. Game also zeros game # if i replay a game.

This is the best FreeCell app that I've found. Its touch screen interface is perfect, allowing fast play without the cumbersome interface that many similar games have. My only suggestion is to build a counter into the stats screen that counts consecutive wins and losses. That's a more important stat to me than speed or score.

It does take some getting used to. When using the "auto-move" option it isn't as smooth as the previous version.

I have found how to by pass all the screen clutter at the end of a game which pleases me. Don't know why that stuff is needed anyway.

Also, it would be nice if I could reset the statistics. Stats in the old version were easily manipulated either on purpose or by chance and what I now have in the new version is not correct. In the old version, at one time, it showed I completed a game in 30 seconds; ergo, it was nice to be able to reset the stats.

I regret that there are so many ignorant people who have given low ratings for this app. If you truly know how to play this game, you will not be disappointed. I have had the free version for a long time and decided since I play it so much I should get the ad free version. I love that you can drag the cards around. People seem to want the old Microsoft crappy way of "tap here then tap where you want it to go" but what a waste of time, dragging is easier IMO.

1. There's only a single shuffle and deal. If the cards aren't dealt just right, you probably won't score more than 3 cards.

2. Cards are sticky. Really hard to pick a row of two or more cards in a stack.

3. It's impossible to pick a stack of more than about 5 cards and move it. Even if you have a K thru 2, it won't allow you to pick the whole stack. Many times I came close to finishing, but the game wouldn't allow me to drag the whole stack to an empty line.

4. When you tap "New" it pops up with an annoying Menu "New Game/Replay/Cancel". Why did I tap "New" Game again? I forgot....

Game play much better after most recent update. Much easier to move individual cards and stacks. Also added undo button which helps if you accidently make a move you didn't want. Can also restart game or reshuffle for new game. I'd recommend the game now to others as I wouldn't before the update.

I'd give the game 5 stars if it had an automatic finish function at the end of the game when it's clear that the only thing left to do is to put remaining cards into piles. Maybe that can be included in the next update.

1. The program should place cards automatically when they can be played. This feature needs to be an option that can be turned on and off during the game.

2. The program needs the ability to "undo" plays. This should be an unlimited feature to allow the player to undo back to the start of the game.

3. If cards are placed in the final piles, the player should have the ability to remove them from the final pile and place them back on the board.

4. The cards are difficult to move.
