This is pretty great and we use this app a ton. I love that we can do plans with friends and family. I love that they offer both reading plans and also ones that include videos. And having the whole Bible available through audio recordings. That’s a huge thing for neurodivergent users and ones with other disabilities. That said, there is room for improvement. Having streaks visible is supposed to be motivating but for some it’s actually going to be discouraging or create an unhealthy relationship with the app. I have submitted suggestions but to no avail. It would be a huge thing to give users the ability to hide their streak count. This will save a lot of sanity in the long run. It would also be more efficient if users could reset their own streak when we are 20 seconds past midnight. My other thing I wish the app allowed, that also relates to streaks, is for users to be able to set their refresh time. Having the day click over at midnight is super impractical for those who have varied schedules. (An example being shift workers who have a sliding schedule or anyone who has diverse health issues that don’t always allow one to do something during normal waking hours.) Overall it’s probably the best Bible app out there. But certain issues like this definitely lead me to believe the developers may not be keeping health diversity (or life adversity in general) at the forefront when they do updates.

April 2022: I love this App! I love that I can compare versions for the verse of the day and for anything else I am reading...so for the verse of the day, I like to read two different EASY versions and then read two well know versions to help me get the most meaning out of a verse. I do wish you would modify two things though...As far as “Streak” and “Activity,” I would love for you to go back to the way it used to be at one point, by 1st, showing the amount of days that we have been in God’s Word in the current the year...and 2nd, go back to making it optional where we want that info on our page...to be able to move it further down so that it’s not the first thing we see. With the way it currently is, it feels discouraging for me when I open up the page if I have been on it 16 or 20 days or however many days in a row, and then I miss a day and it then goes back to 1. It doesn’t feel encouraging when this happens, instead it makes me feel shame. I know this probably sounds childish and dumb to some of the people reading this, but I have a feeling that there are others who might be thinking something similar if you asked them. Having said this, overall I am very grateful and appreciative for your App!🙏❤️✝️

I love that I can set it up for the verse of the day to come at any time and in any version. The only thing I don’t like is all the CLICKING... When it comes up on my banner, the whole scripture/verse doesn’t show up. So I have to CLICK it. Then the app opens up, but the whole scripture/verse of the day is (still) not displaying right there. :-( (It shows a person to the right of it.) So, if I want to read the whole scripture, which I do, I have to CLICK on it again. :-( I don’t think you can program it so I can see the whole scripture in the banner on my phone… But I would love it if you would fix the app to display the WHOLE scripture/verse of the day on the FIRST page when it OPENS (within the box), and move the person down below. (Some Amplified Bible verses are very long.) Thank you so much for this app. I love the pictures available in the back also. When you fix this feature so we won’t have to click so much just to read the scripture, I will come back and change my 4 stars to 5 stars. :-) Wish I could give it a 4.75 stars. ;-)

UPDATE: You fixed it, so the whole scripture shows on the first page when I open it! I’ve only seen one scripture with the upgrade, but I think you fixed it so that whatever scripture it is will all show on that first page. I’m so impressed. Thank you so much and I upped my rating to 5 stars!!!

I still love the You Version Bible app, however, as I’ve become older (needed to increase the font to read better) the print is not large enough. In addition as I read/listen to the verse of the day I am unable to increase the print and I’m not able to scroll down to read in the guided prayer section. I’ve had it for over 12 years. Reading God’s word has made me a much better person. I used to have severe depression & anxiety. Reading the Bible thru this app is so easy, reading the daily devotional lifts my mood, encourages me to look deeper into the Bible for guidance. The Bible app keeps track of the days and weeks that I read, sends me notifications each day and celebrates milestones too. I cannot say enough good things about this app. I completed reading the entire New Testament, when I wasn’t able to read, I turned on the audio so I never missed a word. Thank you so much for having this app created. Love that you had The Chosen on the app. Watched both seasons in a few nights and have watched it a couple more times as well. Love all the videos available in this app especially the daily verse ones. They explain the meaning of the verse so clearly. It’s a life changer and a life saver. God bless everyone who has made this available Addendum: Started the Kids Bible App with my almost 6 year old granddaughter! It’s perfect for her age. She loves listening, answering the questions, and coloring the pictures.

Thank you so much for YouVersion! I absolutely love this app. But there are just a few things I’d love you to consider. 1. When searching for Bible verses by a word, can you please allow the verses to come up in the traditional order the Bible is written? 2. When it comes to Bible Reading Plans, can you please remove the feature that asks us immediately if we want our plan to be visible to friends or private? ⚠️For people who may struggle with addiction to approval, this can be detrimental, making them feel as if they’re making it public to be seen and gain their connected friend’s approval. ⭐️Instead, make it automatic public, and then give an option in the plan settings that allows us to change it to private later if we’d like. 3. Is it possible to add the highlighting and note taking options to the Bible Reading Plans. Sometimes, there are quotes that really speak to the heart that I’d love to highlight. And there are thoughts I’d love to add to the quote. Like a sticky-note. It makes each plan more personal. 4. You know the “Based on today’s reading, what is one thing God is saying to you?” question you have at the end of each plan that is done in a group setting? Could you possibly add that feature to each plan for those who do them individually? It’s a great way to allow us to journal our thoughts and connect to God within the app and makes what we’ve read stick to the heart.

This app has been a vital part of my everyday life. Every single morning I start my day with the daily scripture then I complete a day in the bible plan that I am on! I use this app to disciple to others by extending it to friends that are 'going through' or friends that simply want to know why I am so happy in my soul. Once I tell them about the app and they download it we friend each other the same way you would on social media so I have a community of friends that encourage each other through the bible reading plans and we post scripture pictures for each other daily! I deleted FB for 6 months and this was my new social media free from false images on FB, negativity, envy, and worldliness!!! It helps me to memorize scriptures, I also love that if I am getting ready in the morning I can put my earbuds in and let the app read scriptures to me. I also really love your bible app for kids, I started using it with my son when he was 5 years old, the interactive part is fun for the kids. My husband downloaded the app and does the reading plans and the morning message/meditation, now that is AWESOME!! I can go on and on singing the praises of this app you guys have taken the Christian walk to another level....you are saving souls in your sleep, there is a special place in heaven for the Bible app creators & team!!! I love the access this Application offers to me to different Translations, Languages and a wide variety of Devotionals. It’s social component of hooking you up with friends from all over is also tremendous. Recently the new addition of the Prayer Application has deepened my prayer life. Overall, I am very thankful and happy with these different things that keep me connected to God, my own spiritual growth & fellowship with my friends. This is a staple of spiritual nourishment to my life, where I try to do daily readings from my Devotional on Reading Through the Bible in One Year, this year I am using a devotional on that by Nicky Gimble and his wife Pippa. He’s a believer from the UK. I enjoy his lengthy, detailed introduction to the chapters contain in each day’s readings. It’s also a delight to hear his British accent and stories from our mother-land country, England.

That summary review above is from a previous year when I read through the Bible using Nicky Gimble and his wife Pippa.

This year, 2022, I am using another Reading the Bible in a Year by Pastor Mark Driscoll. It doesn’t have daily, lengthy, detailed devotionals like the Gimbles but it has some. The main thing I enjoy is hearing from God’s Word being read on a fairly frequent basis. I don’t always do it daily. However I catch up later. Driscoll’s devotional has one day a week designed to do that, to catch up if you missed a day or more.

It's hard for me to read my bible every day not only because of time but just because I always forget. Having the bible app on my phone sending me daily verses and just seeing it on my phone screen helps me and reminds me to at least read the verse of the day every day! They also make it so easy to read with the listening feature! While I am driving, cooking, or even doing work I can listen to God's word with no problems at all. Last but certainly not least, the devotions they provide and the plans they provide are amazing and get me to read my bible every day too! If you are contemplating downloading the bible app for whatever reason, I promise you won't regret it. It's really important that we spend time with God every day at least a little bit. Would you say that someone is in a good relationship if they only spend quality time with their significant other 1 hour every week? No! Then how do you except to have a good relationship with God if you're not at least praying every day or just saying "Thank you Lord" and that's all! The bible app is great and made my relationship to the Lord grow strong without even trying very hard. Thank you for reading!! There are so many reasons that I love the Bible App but will just comment on a couple. I’ve been a Christian for MANY years and I’m a little embarrassed to say that I’ve never read the Bible straight through, front to back! Well, I decided that I wanted to do that and I have been working my way through it with the assistance of the Bible App. I’ve been opening my Bible and reading along as the narrator as the app reads aloud. It’s been so helpful, especially in the portions where it’s easy to get bogged down with some of the difficult names, places, and even some of the law is harder to get through. I always read along myself, and still pause to highlight what I want to highlight, and to meditate on portions that are speaking to my heart. It’s just really been a wonderful aid in my goal to read the Bible front to back.

Another thing that I really enjoy is that when I’m at church, I can use the Event feature to have the sermon notes right there as my pastor teaches the Word! It helps me in my ability to take the notes (I still us a notebook for note taking) and not miss any of the notes.

I know that I don’t utilize all of the features that are available to do some of what I still do “the old fashioned way” but I love how it helps me with the way that I choose to use it and it is really helping me to stay in the Word and be more successful in my “Bible time”, as I like to say!

The convenience is simply amazing that you can just plug your phone and look up information at will. I really like how you can take notes and highlight what you read and it also keeps a log. I love the fact that I can select different versions of the Bible instantly. For some reason when your phone falls asleep and you open the Bible app again sometimes the app has to reload and loses your place. That iPad version allows me to take notes a little bit better than the iPhone version because it’s not very easy to switch back-and-forth from reading to creating notes on the iPhone version. I hope they address this in the future. I really love the reminder at a specific time each day for the word of the day. They have a new streak feature which counts the days each day you open up the Bible app which is great! However, if you miss one day it resets everything all the way back to day one. Somehow I wish they can use some support system that collects all of your days like you open the Bible and connected with God‘s word 360 times last year and only missed five days. I also like the social aspect of connecting with your friends and family as to what you were reading. However, there doesn’t seem to him much discussion from the social aspect, but maybe that’s me and my friends. Who is I totally recommend downloading this is in free app connecting with God each day. Every morning you can wake up with a verse of the day, but not only that- you can spend some time on that verse because it gives you a video devotional from a pastor, a guided prayer, an application question, and an image with the verse for you to share. A great way to start off the day before opening up any social media or going into stresses like traffic or work. There’s also a devotional plan for literally anything— you can search “anxiety” or “relationships” for example and lots of plans will come up, or you can search “1 Peter” or “Nahum” and plans will come up to help you study those books, or you can search for chronological reading guides, or you can search for specific people in the Bible. So many. This app truly is such a helpful study tool. Easy to share the app, easy to share verses and passages, so that you can spread the Word. You can highlight and bookmark verses. You can add friends and do study plans along with them in the app. It comes with every Bible translation and in almost every language I believe. You can change the color background and text size and font as you’re reading the scripture, so that you can find the combo that best helps your eyes. I like to have the Bible open on my app in NIV as I’m reading my handheld book Bible in KJV, just to read them along together to get a better understanding of what certain words mean. My favorite app.

It helps me to know how firm Iam in my walk with the Lord by dedicating each and every day of my life to reading God’s word,mostly in the morning to get my day started. As a habit, I’ve set in my mind not to open anything in my phone before I read my bible app. The streaks help me to recognize how many days and weeks I’ve been consistent. When I first saw how how many streaks I had established(84 days!) it made me feel strong in my walk with learning God’s word! Then,one day my streaks was back to 1 streak🤔. It had me wondering,what did I do(then,yesterday)different. Maybe my morning was off my normal schedule by rushing or something that’s never worth me including God’s word in my start of my daytime,idk. Then,I built my streaks back up!Only to open my app to 1 streak again after regaining close to 100 days in a row!I My thought is if a person/I can be consistent these many days in reading the Bible app..Why does streaks even matter to me?!? It’s All about consistency and connecting with God on a daily bases😇🥰..

After I prayed about it I felt better. God laid it on my heart to continue reading daily inspirations on this app that I enjoy very much. Also, I’m no longer paying attention to the streaks after loosing count,I mainly read my word jus to be close to God without paying attention to how often. As long as Ik I talk to Him daily,on the other side my streaks has/will add up and Yes,they have 😊

I appreciate this Bible App because it gives me a great opportunity to pick up my Bible anytime on my phone and not have to worry about carrying my Bible around everywhere. But more importantly it helps me to highlight, share verses with others, be in contact with my fellow Christians and see what they’re reading and also praying about. There’s also tons of Bible plans/devotions you can search and find that fit your type of daily Bible plan/devotion depending on what you like and want to read, and the fact that that’s an option is amazing. Many people on the Bible App who just recently get the app aren’t quite sure what they want to discover when it comes to finding a Bible plan/devotional, but it gets easier as you read more and more. Overall you should definitely download it even if you do have an actual Bible because if you accidentally leave your Bible somewhere you can just read your Bible on your phone and not have to worry about missing anything on a Bible plan/devotion or just reading the Bible in general on a daily. This app deserves a five star rating because the quality is also good too, it’s not just because it’s another Bible I can turn to on my phone but its also a whole church community on the app as well. I can tune into Bible plans with them and connect with them. however there are many more reasons why the Bible app deserves a five star rating but I think I’ve covered plenty.

This app has been life changing for me. It helps me connect with God and the Word. There is a daily scripture and video that helps you apply the scripture of the day. You can search reading plans based on emotions or topics or anything. You can also search for specific scriptures based on the words you remember and look by book or sang related scripture. You can do reading plans alone, invite others to join you or make it private so no one knows the current plan you are reading. This app has helped many through many chapters in my life and I continue to use it weekly and daily. I searched for reading plans when I lost a job, was preparing for marriage and nor that I have been going through parenthood. I am so grateful for the technology that this app provides for me to see what God’s Word says about anything. This app offers the Bible in many languages that continue to grow and many versions of the bible. You can compare a verse with other versions to get a better understanding, make a note about it, share it with others through social media, other apps, email or text. You can make images with a verse or several and share it that way or make an album of photos in your phone with the scriptures you need to focus on at this point in your life. What more can I say about the Bible app that hasn’t already been said. It’s perfect, even though there’s multiple Bible apps this one in particular is a huge for me because it’s the quickest transition for feasting on the word of god. Also to mention there is devotionals dedicated to almost every need and thought. I have a Bible in my room usually 4ft away from me while I’m on the app but it is super useful when I can view it from my phone and jump to Bible versus faster than getting up, getting my Bible, and finding the verse my adhd self was thinking about to go over. You can save any verse in a image and share it where ever you please just like other social media apps. This is my favorite app and a huge tool in my life to further my knowledge, wisdom, and continuing to walk in harmony with gods word. I need god every second but I have adhd so this is great for me. To put it into perspective pulling out my phone and going to the app/verse takes about 5 or so seconds. Say I didn’t have the app I would simply get my Bible and flip to the verse I was pondering taking about sometimes 20-30 seconds maybe longer. By that time And going to the verse I’ve thought about almost my whole life because that how my mind works. This app I was blessed with “less of a window of time” for the devil to intervene trying what ever he can do to stop me from the truth and gods love.

I love the Bible app. It is remarkably one of the most helpful apps I have. It is super accessible, especially when you’re so busy you forget to read your Bible or spend some devotional time. I love the daily verse reminders, the numerous ways we can keep track of our reading, the beautiful options for making images out of verses. There is even an option for writing down prayers, and you can choose to make it private or public with friends. In the hustle and bustle of daily living, I am able to jot down a quick prayer and it doesn’t mean much at the moment, but months or weeks later I’d look back to it and realize just how impactful it was. Because it is so easy to write down a simple and quick prayer in the app, it helps with practicality: you can pray over it right away. And that one prayer changes a lot of things. I’m grateful for all the Bible app plans; there are so many options, short ones and long ones. I especially love the chronological and canonical reading plans. I love that the Bible app collaborates with a lot of Christian artists and preachers all over the country, even the world, and is able to make their voice, their teachings, and their wisdom accessible to the multitudes like me. Overall, an amazing app!

Edit: lately there’s been trouble with bookmarking. The app doesn’t seem to stick to what you read last time, and it is difficult to keep track of what you read. I hope they fix this. Perhaps it is just on my end.

Every morning, as soon as I wake up, I go to the Bible App. Before even a cup of tea, I read the verse of the day, Then I do my Bible Studies. They have taught me so many awesome, rich truths about God’s Word! I recall one (of the hundreds I’ve completed) which taught me about the “hard sayings in the Bible”. It went deep into controversial Scriptures such as, “can you lose your Salvation?” and “can women be preachers?”. Another benefit is, that I’ve gained hundreds of new Christian friends, some, I now actually have close, personal relationships with! Even though they may live on opposite coasts, they are now precious friends! I’ve had the Bible App over four years now and I must say it’s the greatest App, bar none! If you just try it, you’ll be hooked on spending time with Jesus and you’ll gain Christian friends! How? Just send “friend requests” to people you know, or if you’re like me, I only had one friend who was on the Bible App so I started sending out friend requests to people from all over the world. Not one single request was denied! You’re with your Brothers-and-Sisters-in-Christ, so you’ll never feel rejected! As you accept requests to do Bible Studies from your new friends, you’ll read responses that really speak to your heart. If these responses come from people you aren’t friends with yet, send them friend requests! The more people you “friend” the more you’ll grow from others’ insights! This is THE MOST VALUABLE APP you’ll ever have!

It is hard to remember any problems I’ve had with the app during a prior session, and I submit that the review opportunity should pop up after each use, rather than when someone starts using the app. I think that would help in identifying useful problems, issues and praises for the app. It is somewhat difficult and frustrating to bring up previous notes one has made. I make a lot of notes with scriptures which I need to review and further consider at a later point. But I can’t always find them! However, after further use, it’s pretty easy. Secondly, it is also difficult to remove a bible study plan that shows up four times under the selected plan list. I think I finally figured it out last night, but we’ll see... Thirdly, I do greatly enjoy the app, including the daily Bible verses and the opportunity to create a picture with the verse, or even use one’s own photos! That is fun! On the Bible study side, I love the ability to flip from one Bible version to another with great ease, while keeping with the passage you’re currently focused on. I use that option the most! It is also easy to find a verse one is looking for, or Bible chapters. I do enjoy and appreciate this app. Thank you for including such useful and creative options. Also, thank you for presenting the option for review and input, which I trust you read and take action on those you can identify as good for the app. Thank you for your time and consideration of the above matters.

I have had this app downloaded for years but until Covid I did not take advantage of all that wonderful “gifts” it holds. During this time my dearest friend from California invited me to do two devotional plans with her. They both not only spiritually blessed my life, brought me to my friend, but also created a new habit for me. I am even on my way to finishing a 100 day devotional that I had begun several years ago. On top of that their is the Good Morning devotional that greets you on the Home page. I would not miss that for anything! Every morning it has been wonderful to meet new pastors as well as one I know as they inspire and encourage me as I begin my day! God has developed a new habit of beginning my day with Him here, and I am so thankful!

Since I began this review I have begun doing a plan with not only my friend from California but one from Puerto Rico. Through the plan we have done together I have seen God work wonderfully in our lives. He is truly an amazing God!

Another update, one of my friends that lives closer but is still an hour away excepted my invitation to join my in doing a plan together. That was months ago and we are still opening our mornings with God through the devotional plans we do “together”. How great is our God! God continues to work in my life and my friends’ lives transforming us in ways I could never have imagined. Thank You, my Father for the amazing grace and mercy through the work of Your people! Amen

I use this app for church and small group. The scripture can be adjusted to fit any bible type. My small group reads out of NIV so it is helpful that my bible says the same thing as theirs. There is thousands of studies that you can choose from, many of them having helped me greatly, and a daily devotion from experienced pastors that know what they are talking about and know just the right things to say. It can show help you find bible verses using key words, and you can select an “emoji” and memory verses suited to help you overcome the emotion of the emoji you chose comes up. It allows you to highlight, bookmark, and note (etc) verses, and you can select a verse to put with a background and save to your camera roll and/or send to others via text. You can friend family or people you know and look at what they have highlighted, verse images they have made, and more, and comment on their creations. You can also do studies with them. It is a wonderful way to keep in touch while serving our Lord by studying his word and his good people’s wonderful Christian ideas. There are several things to do- these are just some of it- in one app, with no pre-app or in-app purchases. There should be a special place in heaven for the creators of this app, for it has helped me and thousands of others grow in spirit, faith, and happiness over the time period I have used it. Like the app very much. Appreciate all the available versions, and the audible reading of numerous versions. Like being able to have 2 versions of the same reference side by side and the compare feature of multiple versions. At one time in the past, you could have 2 different references side by side that were scrollable. That was also very nice, but I haven’t been able to find that feature anymore.

Speed in initial opening & in switching between versions has been getting longer and longer. Also would rather have Bible open directly to last read reference as before & then have option to go to daily verse, reading plan, helps videos etc. instead of having to wait for them to complete loading before the Bible is available. The screen seems to have been cleaned up a bit lately, but it was opening looking like a confused collage of advertisements. Overall, I really like the app and use it as my go to online Bible, multiple times on a daily basis. I have others that I use for study/reference. I want yours to open and switch quickly, and to allow quick searches. My eyes are needing help at this stage in life, and I use and appreciate the audio reader very much. Thank you for providing easy access to God’s Holy Word to millions of readers around the world. May God bless your service to His glory and to the saving of souls through the reading of His Word.

I love the Bible app and the many components it has to help me learn the word of God and share it with others. The design and layout has improved so much over the last two years! I love the videos that come with the scripture of the day and the story line we can click on to view the videos, the prayer , and the attached devotional. I love that you can add prayers , notes, comments, share bible plans with friends or read by yourself, earn badges to encourage you, and set reminders so you don’t miss the scripture of the day. I love the scripture of the day can now be a widget on your iPhone, I love that you can highlight scriptures and look at different translations, etc.., I also love that there is a search option so if you want to look up a word or parts of a scripture you can see all the scriptures related to your search, I love the new section for the videos , much easier to find now (set up is like the Instagram reels section which is helpful).

My only suggestion is that there is an option to share the verse of the day story line (including the video) to outside sources like to Instagram or to your friends who may not have the app or may not be saved but could use that mini devotional. In other words, I wish there was a way to download that story we get with the scriptures of the day (video included) so we can share it easily with others.

My one and only major complaint is the streaks! When you long in every day you get a point for that day! Your streak points can get as high as you can go! 50, 300, or even 3000 as long as you've longed in for that many days! But the moment life happens and you can't long in for a day you lose all those points! It's very discouraging!

I like the idea of a point system, but it should be replaced with a system where you get points for reading your verse of the day, more points for reading your lesson plan on time and then for completing it! Points for creating verse images, and points for creating a note etc... that would encourage users to do more within the app!

If you want to do a streak then in addition to a point system allow users to go in and see stats if they choose to! A place that shows how many days in a row they've logged in, how many hours they've spent on the app. ETC...

I love this app because I hate to read period, and when I start a lesson plan it doesn't feel overwhelming! The plans are laid out in a way that makes you want to come back for more! I love the notes feature, bookmarking, highlights, and the fact you can create images! I would like more options in the image creating part, where you can make different words a bigger font & different font within the same image!

If these changes were made I would most definitely give 5 stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
