Horrible app - glitchy and annoying

This app has to be the worst wast of my time there is. The rewards are GARBAGE do not sell your private information to these third parties that don’t protect your privacy.

Also Dimo couldn’t care any less about its customers, they are a for profit company and I clearly shows with how scammy and shady their app is. Delete immediately to protect yourself

Limited Nissan LEAF data

I used an autopi to connect to my 2013 Nissan LEAF. Energy usage, speed, and distance data are blank despite my driving. Macaron on Lexus works just fine.

No longer working

I haven’t access the app since January and everything has worked fine. I was one of the first people to get on DIMO about a year or two ago and it’s been great but now I tried to open the app and connect my MetaMask wallet through polygon and the DIMO app just hangs there. Very disappointing. I even deleted the app and reinstalled and I’m still having the same issues.

App is decent…and they keep coming out with new-ish features, but like every week, sometimes multiple times a week you have to update the app and log back in. Gets a little annoying sometimes

Does not work after new phone

App was working perfectly and I had accumulated almost 500 Dimo within 4 months or so and luckily cashed out before I go my new phone. I bought the new iphone 16 pro max and had to reconnect the app and my wallet but it fails to work. I’ve tried many different options but the app just crashes over and over after I’ve supposedly connected my token wallet and try logging back in.

Pretty cool app but shady recruiting message

The app is great and super useful. I mainly use it to earn their crypto for driving and it’s super easy, just set it up and then you don’t have to touch it and you earn money. I’ve earned about $7 so far in about 3 months, which is pretty okay for free money lol

HOWEVER — I’m a designer and a year or so ago I was searching for my first junior level role and applied for the company. Their CEO reached out and asked if I would give any free feedback on the product. When I said I’d talk about it over an interview, no response. It’s very bad practice to ask a designer for free feedback, especially in the context of someone who applied for a role with you. I was super unimpressed by this and have been hesitant to recommend the app.

App worked fine for about a month and no issues, then my car connection just stopped so I reached out to support and they continue to tell me to allow more permissions than I needed to previously (they want access to the commands in my car, NO THANK YOU!) in order to make the app work. Super sketchy and makes no sense, stop “upgrading” things and just f’ing breaking them!!!

Snake Oil

This Dapp and its app are snake oil in my opinion. How many updates are they going to force on you, only to see the token tank. The devices constantly lose connection and have to be reset. The app updates seem to fix nothing with my current situation. I have two vehicles tied to the app and they make it less than 24 hours with a connection, before I have to reset them again. This is turning out to be a huge waste of time and money. Almost a year into this pyramid scheme and I am beyond disappointed!!!

Good so far

I didn’t get the Coinbase rewards at first and I didn’t know why. After some troubleshooting I realized when I signed up apple made a unique email instead of using my normal email. The email has to match the email you use in Coinbase. Once I corrected this all was well and I got the bonus. I like the app. Excited to see where it can go.

After putting my email in to make an account it takes me to add a passkey. In the passkey settings there isn’t an option for Dimo. Not sure if this is an Iphone or Dimo problem. I’ve tried restarting my phone and reinstalling the app.

Hate the new app

New app always logs me out and the cost to remove tokens is expensive compared to the old way when sent directly to your wallet. Definitely a downgrade. Nothing is ever synced correctly for my car except location. Tire pressure is data is months old, fuel data never updates. Cycled the power with the unit but no change. Would recommend staying away for a bit if you want a functional app that tells you information about your car other than location. Could have got an air tag if I knew only location was working.

Thought I’d get $25 from Coinbase however after a week it never showed up. I did get $2.17 in the app I tried to transfer to Coinbase and it never went through now my balance is zero. I figured $2 to take me all day may be something but not in my case bummer

Was excited until I was not….. might as well be a scam to get you to buy a device as it won’t hook up to my Hondas app. Just says it’s having connectivity issues with Honda. Does not even allow a person to try. Only other way to hook up my car is buying an expensive device . So I call scam

Beware

Everything started out well. I was able to get my car and DIMO hooked up, sent an email into customer support and boom. Everything was working great for months.

Then- the app and in app wallet was upgraded(if you’d like to call it an upgrade) This was a month of emails back and forth with customer support…asking me for my wallet address, asking if I was near a hotspot, asking to share a screenshot of my garage tab….. this has been going on for a month.

The latest was send me a screen shot of the devices serial number. Mind you we are a month in for troubleshooting.

The last month has been nothing short of infuriating with no answer in sight. As long as you can avoid this situation, I’d recommend. Just hope you don’t need support.

Latest update made app unusable

Latest update included major improvements and functionality to the wallet supposedly but my wallet won’t even load and it takes forever for even my vehicle to load. I get notifications about rewards but I can’t see rewards because the wallet won’t load.

I got in contact with customer support after I updated the app and migrated the account. Baseline rewards are not showing anymore since then. They responded a couple of emails and after I sent them the video recording they asked for, they completely stopped replying to the emails. My account is at 0 DIMO for a month. It's not showing on dimo app, not in MetaMask.

Cannot Migrate Vehicle To Updated App

Ever since the App was ‘upgraded’ I have not been able to migrate my vehicle/merge my account. The process gets stuck migrating. I used Rainbow Wallet with the old DIMO app version. I’m worried my streak and DIMO earnings will not continue or even be deleted or lost. Please help!!!

Dimo updates always break something

Every update it’s going to be a 50/50 chance the app will be broken and your connection will be lost. I just found out I’m 2 weeks behind on a connection after their most recent update. I am now no longer able to setup a new connection. It’s constantly stuck on the “configuring” device page. I think I spent more gas idling trying to get this to work then I’ve made. I’m out next pump.

If you have a Tesla you need this app lol, literally just set it up and you don’t need to purchase any extra equipment it will integrate directly into the car and you get crypto deposited into your account every week. Stopped earning

It’s been a month now without earning DIMO. Keep emailing and no one is helping. They keep telling me I’m confused and not telling me why my device isn’t sending data. Lost my level 3 perks and have to restart from scratch if it ever works again. Didn’t even earn enough to pay the device off.

Scam and shady

Device and app has not worked since purchase. When I reached out for support they state many customers have same issue and no timeline to fix the issue. I ask for a refund as their policy state can refund the item for any defects or failures. The customer service says item can’t be refunded if it’s been paired with app. How can you possibly identify defects or failures without pairing the item? I paid money for a working item not this junk. Bad business and service.

Awesome way to earn passive income

Just wanna start by saying I’m not a bot, and I am not being paid/sponsored to leave this review. This is my unbiased review from my experience thus far. I have been onboard for almost a month now and I gotta say, it’s been awesome so far! My earnings have not been too bad, considering I’m just using the “free to participate” option, which receives no points multiplier. They do offer 2 OBD-2 plug in pieces of hardware. 1 for $99( Macaron-2x multiplier) & $299(AutoPi-6x multiplier) I will be ordering 1 of each when there’s no back order as you can at minimum double up your earnings while using either and being logged into your vehicles connected service plan via the app. Going to add the wife’s car my next day off as well!

They also offer discounted services thru multiple partnerships they’ve made since they started this journey. Using their ecosystem, I onboarded with NATiX, which is an AI powered-dash cam mapping thing. They have also been a pleasure to work with! Best part is you can use your phone, so no being forced to spend hundreds on dash cam just to participate. I highly recommend DIMO to anyone reading this. You won’t regret it I promise!

Loophole

Installed and opened app. It was asking for update and forwarded me to app store where I have updated the app (shouldn’t the newly installed app already include the update?). When opening the dimo app again after the update it is asking for update and forwards me back to app store. A loophole.

After this latest update to 1.3, I can’t open the app. It crashes as soon as I open it. I hope a developer sees this and releases a fix. Very frustrating.

Struggling with purpose of this app

Too buggy. Starts every five times. Crashes often. Claims native integration with Tesla. It is a complete joke. It shows only battery charge level and mileage. With so many functional smart car apps, I just can’t see the purpose.
